I uhh, hope you’re ready for a small info dump cuz this character has existed in some form or fashion for 15+ years!

She is a character I made when I was around 10? Mayyybe 12? Ish? Basically I had a lot of dolls as a child but one favorite in particular cuz she had a lot of articulation. Elbows and knees, which was kind of rare for barbies at the time. My brother and I would combine our toys and play out these grand stories and this doll in particular was always a central character. At the time she was nameless but after I read Angelic Layer for the first time Hikaru was the name I immediately gravitated to.

As I got more into anime and manga and those kinds of stories I started developing some sort of character for her. I never really worked out what her exact story was, since the games my brother and I would play were different every time haha. But I was heavily influenced by things like Angelic Layer, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptors, Rayearth, Sakura Wars and other magical girl/cool girls that fight with big weapons media. Heavy 90s and early 2000 era anime inspo.

As of now her very loose narrative is that she’s a high school monster hunting magical girl of some variety. I imagine she’s the stoic type who you’d assume was all work and no play until you found out she’s really into rhythm games.

Speaking of rhythm games, this is how I imagine she uses her weapon!

I actually found my old original doll when I was back at my parents’ cleaning out some old stuff after college and decided to give her a faceup and try to make her into more of the character I envisioned her being when I was a kid! Here are some other images of her!

Here a picture of the original doll as well as a drawing of how I dressed her up when I was a kid. I basically salvaged all my other dolls for parts if I thought they had cool clothes and gave them all to this doll lol. Drawings in this one are from when I started getting into watching doll customizing videos around 2017.

And the refurbished doll! (Pls dont judge my poor doll customizing skills haha, it was the first one I’d ever done! And the terrible colors of her outfit are the result of testing a pattern with scrap fabric lol) I ended up having to give her a whole new body cuz the joints and elastic in the old one were completely unsalvageable. Also she was covered in red nail polish from a childhood attempt to give her cool battle scars.

thing one: my fav colour is....hard to explain!!! i love lots of colours and its sooooo hard to choose!!!! although if i'd have to pick my favorite???? uh....yellowish orange! like its golden but not completely yellow nor completely orange. just in between!! you see me use it a lot in drawings bcs i like it :)

thing two: i don't really have any concrete pairings besides johnkat. I've never been interested, except for the few pairings i was more than lukewarm to, so i'd say terezi <3 nepeta, dave <> vriska (i can explain jHKLJDFHLKAJSDHFLJ), and the classics rosemary and meowrails. nothing's really off my list (yknow besides incest/abusive ones) except for davekat and for some reason vriska and gamzee lmao. idk why it hits a bad vibe but it does?? i think it might have something to do with terezi and gamzee's canon (re-canoned? un-canoned?) relationship, but otherwise its just on the no-draw list lol.

thing three: i actually haven't done an OG project in years!! BUT i used to have this comic series that i did in middle school and in high school that i developed a WHOLE world for it.

it was called "Artistica" (original IKR?)

my OC's were inspired by my IRL friends at the time, but I changed up to be original because I didn't want to connect the two directly, realizing it was odd to have "characters" of people. But they were inspired, if just initially look wise, and their personalities are definitely NOT the people they were after anymore.

in order from that first picture: TB (yes her name is literally two letters) and her younger brother Liam, Zake (pronounced Zach), Ben, Jeb, Jakobė (pronounced Jah-kob-e), PB (a hyphenated nickname), and RP (also a hyphenated nickname).

The story went like this: TB and her brother, and her friend group, went to school, had fun adventures, and just lived their lives! I did the whole series traditionally, and it spanned over three notebooks filled with comic strips. Artistica was initially about the funny hijinks I could draw about: TB living in a "modern" world within a magic era, with things like alternate universes, my fav YouTubers at the time, and gender swaps, etc etc, though, as time went on and I grew older, I developed more and more of the story.

TB lives alone with her brother. But wait, you say, isn't she in highschool?? And yes! She is! I didn't develop it until later, but TB's parents died when she was younger, in a car crash. TB's case was a bit bizarre for her world, and so there was incidentally a government program being developed to help kids grow up alternative to the foster system, so essentially she and Liam gained a "Guardian" to watch over them, check up on them, teach TB life skill for when she'd become a legal adult, and remain close by (like literally has an office in her school!) so TB would always have access to her anytime.

So she struggles with balancing her life in school, home, and suddenly, these strange visions and memories pop up in her head...TB lives in a world with magic, but not everyone is magical. TB and Liam aren't supposed to be, but they are, despite their parents being humans. It happens sometimes, but unknown to TB, their parents were developing some theories before they passed...

So as time goes on, her friendgroup starts to crumble.

Ben and Zake are TB's closest friends! Zake near the beginning has a crush on TB, while Ben has a crush on Zake. TB helps Ben get closer to Zake, and eventually, they end up going out over the series! But near the end, Zake has a sudden personality change, and he starts acting unlike himself..

Jen and Jakobė are dating when the series starts, but over time and Jeb begins treating Jakobė badly, he breaks it off with her to let them cool down and learn about themselves. Jeb goes through an arc discovering her kinder side, and Jakobė learns who he is without Jeb. They come back together with an understanding on how to treat their relationship better (and themselves).

PB and RP are each other's best friends! ...except when RP gets a boyfriend. And then PB begins to feel like a third wheel. Their friendship grows tense and they start fighting with everyone and each other, and the tension in the group grows even more.

And TB? Well, TB tries to balance this all. Her friend group is crumbling, her magic is growing more out of control, and caring for a little brother isn't the easiest (even if he is the sweetest little brother she could ever have). Her friends involve her in fights, even once taking a jab at her parents (they know about them, ouch) and start neglecting their friendship with her (except Ben and kinda Zake).

Luckily, though, one good thing happens to her: she meets a new friend outside her friend group. His name is Mike, he's new, and he's very sweet to her! It's a brief break from all her drama.

And then, everything goes wrong.

now hear me out,,, an au where lan wangji is an editor who works for an erotica publisher and wei wuxian is essentially chuck tingle. (also lwj writes romance novels on the side)

wei wuxian didn’t plan to write erotica he wants to make that really clear, he was actually studying like biomed or something equally “oh wow my parents can brag to the other parents about this”

but, as frequently happens in wwx’s life, he got drunk with nhs, like really drunk and they woke up the next morning with a laptop on the floor beside them and loose paper strewn everywhere

they don’t really remember what they were doing or thinking last night but they’ve both drawn a bunch of really shitty and weird porn (the less said about the anthropomorphic version of wen chao’s pet turtle the better) and wei wuxian has like 20,000 words of an erotica story on his laptop

when he starts reading it, at first he’s like haha what the fuck this is so weird but then it turned out to be really good??? and nhs blushed at some of the ~sexy~ scenes so that’s how wwx knew he was writing the good stuff

anyway they’re sitting there, eating their hangover food and wei wuxian goes so uh my story was good right? and nhs is like yeah it was, top stuff i would buy it and wei wuxian goes what if i actually wrote it,,, haha just kidding,,,,, unless?

and in his defence he doesn’t actually write anything for the story for another like three months but then he finds himself in the middle of exam season and he’s like fuck it stress relief let’s write some erotica

he finishes the book and his exams (which he does well in but whatever) and then spends his summer holidays editing the book

when he comes back, he slaps down a paper copy on nhs’ desk and is like i finished it. nhs, thinking he meant his latest lab write up, opens it up to a random page and starts reading it out loud which was a Mistake

he trails off mid-sentence, and whips around to glare at wwx with all the wrath he can muster. it’s raunchy nhs says and just read it wwx tells him so nhs does

like 2 hours later nhs turns to him and says if it wasnt for you and the librarian staring at me the whole time i definitely would’ve felt something and wwx is like so it’s good? and nhs is like fuck yeah it is but i dont get what you want from me?

pretty much wwx passed out after exams, slept for like 20 hours and then woke up and went i should publish this and decided that nhs should draw the cover art.

nhs agrees of course and a month later wwx self-publishes bc there’s no way he can walk into a publishing house with his porn and not just combust on the spot and he decides to go by the name yiling patriarch

wwx clicks the final button to upload the fic and nhs just toasts him and goes yknow what,, this is the closest you’ve ever gotten to having sex and i’m proud of you

wei wuxian is the man who guarded his first kiss for the first twenty years of his life for someone special,,,, wwx definitely wants his first time to be special and there’s no way he’s putting out for someone he doesn’t think is important & despite having dated before, he’s never gotten close enough to someone to go yeah let’s do it so our boy is still a virgin

so wwx’s entire erotica writing inspiration comes from porn, nhs’ way too in-depth answers as to how his latest date went and uh more porn

wwx blusters about a bit bc how is he meant to respond to that and nhs is like maybe you’ll finally move on from reading those trashy romance novels and read something more exciting and wwx is like how dare you call them trashy!! hanguang-jun is a master of the romance novels!! he understands the heart in a way that no other person has ever!! 

and nhs just chugs a bunch of wine and is like yeah hon okay, do you still blush when the main characters hold hands? and wwx is like no! of course not! (it’s a lie, he blushes a lot)

so nothing really happens with the book at first and wwx forgets about it for the most part but then he wakes up one morning and he’s got an extra like RMB 1000 (i dont actually know much about currency so it’s roughly $200 if my quick interneting is legit)

wwx is like wtf? and once he finds out it’s from his novel he’s doubly like wtf? but then he finds out that someone had purchased his book and did a dramatic reading on youtube bc wwx decided that regular erotica was boring and decided to make it satirical or whatever and people loved it??

he’s got nothing better to do so he just goes hm yeah remember that Author i dated who had an “incredible idea that would absolutely amaze The Critics and helped explore his own convoluted mind” let’s make something of that and he writes another book kinda mocking that idea in a very horny way.

he publishes it and someone writes a review of his two books on their blog and now he’s actually starting to get popular - he’s got more money from those two books than he did by working at the local cafe for the whole week

All sparks end up in the well of All-sparks, but i dont feel like the sparks could make it there on their own. SO! meh OC helps lead the sparks to the All-Spark well. She can transform into a hollow sphere, so she can transform around the spark to keep it safe from harm. She was stuck on Cybertron and unable to retrieve sparks that were lost off-planet, But at the end of TFP, After everything starts getting back to ‘’’’’’’’’’’normal’’’’’’’’’’’’’ she starts sneaking onto ships to visit other planets to retrieve the lost sparks.

Also the idea of how it works is that when he is in the world of heroes time stops in his world. So he can spend 5 years in askra come back to his world and no time has gone past. What they do in there own world = studying to become an physiotherapist in a university london(because I'm from England and I dont know how other countries school system work sorry) but also works part time in a tesco

Personality = easily attached to poeple so dispite being quite intelligent on the battle feild he has done some stupid things to make sure they stay safe. Get extremely angry when it comes to poeple getting hurt (physically and emotionally)which sometimes isn't a problem but sometimes this means he has given away locates when the group is trying to be stealthy, which has put them in even more danger at times. Is out going and confendnet when around strangers and friends but this is a bit of a mask, as he feels like he has to put of that face because of him being the summoner. Close friends will known that he is quite nervous with a very strange sense of humour (at least to them)

As a unit = after the events of book 1 he started to try and become a healer. While he cant defend himself very well only able to do light magical damage he is a very skilled healer. He rides a horse into battle

Realship with the heroes = close friends Donald it started with him asking him why he wears a pot into battle and there friendship took off from there. Laslow, laslow was just being laslow and flirted with him and to humor him taylor flirted back and they had tea together and became good friends, especially as laslow understood the whole hiding behind a more confident persona. Est, she reminds him of his little sister so he feels the need to protect her (that need that she needs protecting changes when she takes down a Duma that would have killed him) but they often go out to the market to buy supplies as she easy to talk to.

anna = as a broke uni student he respects her money loving ways. They can be caught scheming ways to get some extra money

Sharena = she saw right through the persona he put on so she was able to see the real him very quickly. They have shared eachother darkest secrets and so they trust eachother completely and get on very well. Also the only person to get his sense of humour. She was the first person he came out as bi to which was followed by her coming out as a lesbian to him. Helped her and fjorm get together.

Alfonse = at first they only talked while working together because of alfonse fear of not wanting to get close to Taylor but he saw Taylor stressing out after he thought everyone had left the war councils meeting. They both had a heart to heart Taylor admits his fear of not doing well another and faling and alfonse explains why he fears getting close to poeple. The only person he has taken into his world has alfonse was curios so he showed him the day to day life. A customer was rude to taylor in Tesco and let's put it this way alfonse is banned from all Tesco.

Fjorm = extremely good friends with eachother and he feels guilty about her dying believing that it his fault dispite her saying that it's not and she doesnt regret what she did. Wants to try and make her last years alive as happy as possible. Beause hríd couldn't stop crying (he gives me those big brother vibes you cant change my mind) Taylor walked her down the aisle at her and sharena wedding.

Gunnthrá = the big sister he never had, just like with fjorm he feels guilty for what happend to her and cant forgive himself. She took him to nifl once and like good all English men he was freezing to death within the first 5 minutes.

Hríd = talk about there sister together a lot as Taylor has 2 and love them to peaces like hríd does with his. Hríd has basically adopted him and whenever Hríd is deployed he always looking behind him to make sure no arches are amining at Taylor. He taught him how to ride a horse

Ylgr = she always messing about and playing pranks so he uses her powers for evil good by setting her on heroes that are annoying him. Dispite her being very strong especially for her age he can never use her in battle out of fear of what will happen. But he has taught her to yell yeet when throwing her daggers.

Laegjarn = not exactly friends but they respect eachother. Dispite being in charge and never abusing his power over her and laevatein unlike surter she has a new resolve that once she goes back to her world she going to take laevatein and leave surter as she now knows theres a better way of life and that theres poeple that are willing to give her a second chance.

Laevatein = pretty much the same as laegjarn but Taylor also teachers her how to ride a horse after finding out she has a interest in them

Helibindi = is trying his best to summon his sister. He is suspicious of his outgoing nature and is sure there something going on underneath but doesn't know how to get through. Is one of the few that notice when Taylor is struggling with something even if it something small, so he often get stuff of the top shelf for him because Taylor is a bit short.

Eir = not close yet but he was the one that gave her a hug and stayed with her after hel death.

tips for humanizing your character, if you wanna

disclaimer: im writing this while simultaneously feeling like peeled-off rhino skin, so take it with as many grains of salt as you want

so. this doesn’t apply to self-inserts, or any character that you feel a strong enough personal attachment to that that overshadows your need to make them better-written or more realistic. im not judging that; you do you or whatever, but dont come at me for “attacking” you i’m just saying that that tends to happen a lot. so realize which category you fall into. pls think of this objectively. im not trying to be mean im just too tired to fake-sugarcoat like i usually do

done ? do you have a character which you wanna let go of and let grow into their own person but you can’t? here’s some tips for you out of my ass:

1. knock them off their gosh darn pedestal. literally if u have to

this is one that i’ve seen before that’s super helpful. It’s also a good way of realizing which of the categories above you fall into. have someone throw a pie at your character . make them trip over a rock and fall face-down in mud. ridicule them. have other characters point out their flaws in an insightful and possibly brutally accurate manner.

do u feel: - sympathetic? - amused? - any emotion that you would generally feel if it happened to a friend? (i cant come up with/dont have more than two so fill the list urself) congratz. u done it

do u feel: - offended? - personally attacked?

congratz u are officially letting yourself take a personal stake in this character and are impeding their development. again, if this is intentional (see above) then whatever, who cares. if it’s not, welp. now you know

2. for anything Good that they accomplish, balance it out with something Bad.

this could be anything. it could be a skill of theirs next to a fault. it can be luck, next to some random character flaw that just makes them go backwards. it can be a foil in the form of another character. it could be them being a super nice and sweet person who tries to do everything for other people, next to a crippling fear of abandonment and complete lack of self confidence coupled with an inability to stand up for themselves that borders on irritating to other characters and is detrimental to most forms of relationships except long-standing ones that have required specific adaptation. idk where i got that one from

3. have them react in realistic ways, and other characters react to that in realistic ways

is the character a snob? of course they’re Not going to be Happy about getting hit in the face with the aforementioned pie. can they fancily cuss someone out for ten minutes without any real repercussions? of course not.

if your “repercussions” have a class divide, consider the personal feelings of the characters. a prof of mine recently cussed us out. did it have repercussions for her? of course not. do i like her? definitely not anymore! also consider then when/if that class divide is no longer there... well. bye bye prof you’re on ur own

4. have the environment and background characters treat them neutrally at first, unless there’s something that is specifically affecting them

random adventurer pretty-boy comes into a lodge. he doesn’t know how to cook, clean, or generally care for himself. is the caretaker of the lodge going to like this? no. why did this useless man come here if he can’t do anything? caretaker’s henceforth going to have a negative attitude towards pretty-boy.

Now, if pretty-boy is royalty, let’s say caretaker doesn’t complain. doesn’t show his attitude. but he still thinks it. this should bleed through, at least subtly.

5. artistic license

listen. if you’re drawing a pretty figure and the arm doesn’t show, but boy would it add to the composition, you add the arm anyways. you move that shoulder blade up a bit. you make it look nicer.

same goes for writing. in real life someone’s reaction doesn’t necessarily show, and that’s boring. write their reaction anyways. your character doesn’t have to notice--but your reader should, if you’re not hiding it for a specific reason. add shit that adds substance and effect to your writing. make it your own

finally, for the love of god stop adding in random epithets fifty times a sentence

okay so tbh i have only revealed my kpop love to select people in my life IRL...buuuut im working on being more open about it bc these boys give me so much laughter and joy and it's good to be excited about things!! yesterday my mom discovered kpop and i came running into her room to be like omg let me show you MY FAV GROUP NCT. she didnt seem to vibe with the songs i showed her but honestly i get that cuz sometimes for me, i listen to an NCT song and im like ehhh but then i keep listening and im like wait this song is actually so good (this has happened with kick it, limitless, maw, work it...to name a few)

as for what i didnt like...dont hate me but some of the missions were a little...slow for me? like in some eps when they just take the selfies and decorate it in the book i kinda skimmed those parts 😅 i think it would be cool if they had more missions that require them to actually do things with each other (i guess kinda like icebreakers lmao even tho i personally hate icebreakers) - like in the winwin/js episode, they involved the hosts and had them do some drawing thing that was funny. but actually i guess it also depends who the hosts are, i feel like some host combinations are funnier (whether bc of their chemistry with the participants or each other) so maybe that can't really be controlled

Though when she puts her mind to something she can work hard and get it done. Of course if she likes the activity, she is more likely to finish it quickly.

You enjoy SINGING, DANCING, ASTRONOMY, CRAFTING, READING, DRAWING and a Alternia game called FIDUSPAWN. You are a quiet Troll, even if sometimes you enjoy BREAKING things loudly, who keeps your nose in your own business but opening up when you become close friends with someone. Close enough to fill the Moirail quadrant at the least.

You were hatched on the 9th bilunar perigee of the 1st dark season. Skipping your blurry wiggler days, you were chosen by a strange Lusus after passing your trials. You and your custodian then proceeded to build a secluded hive made of metal in a circular shape.

 You spent most of your younger days learning to build and studying outer space. Your fascination with planets and beings outside of your world was never disturbed by your Lusus, so you learned quickly that there was other life forms out there besides Trolls. You vaguely know of a Alien species called 'Humans' but have not gotten far in your studies.

 Next to that, You tried to learn how to control your strength and violent thoughts. As a blue blood, you has a incredible amount of strength even if your body doesn't look like it. You once busted a hole in the wall of your Hive that took you days to fix (your repair skill were still in development). Being in your blood caste, these things were expected of you, you were to become a solider after all.

 You don't know if you wants that though.

 You always had a strange opinion on the hemospecturm. After studying the history of your Dancestor and Ancestor you learned of the ways they reacted to it. You try to incorporate both of their ways into you view, in hopes of doing what they failed at, which was not dying because you have a opinion. Because of this you remain what you call 'Neutral'

 This means you are trying not to pick a side, in hopes of avoiding confrontation which could end in death on either side. You don't like treating low bloods like they are lesser than you, you never even called another troll a low blood. You also understands that going against a high blood could end in a culling, so you don't speak against them.

 The whole thing is confusing, even for you. Why can't you just make up your mind and fight for what you believe in! Well that's the thing you don't want to fight. Maybe one day you'll figure it all out, you are only 7 sweeps old after all.

  At  4 sweeps though, you made a robot. Your first one. You don't remember what its exact purpose was, but it definitely wasn't to attack you like it did. Which is how you got the scar across your nose. You had won the fight with a bit of damage, your Lusii didn't seem Impressed though.

 That was basically all of your past, building, training to control violent tendencies, doing activities you liked. Your Lusus was your only friend for a while, before you got into the online world one sweep ago. Talking to other Trolls is a lot easier when your behind a husktop. You mainly just play games and maybe have a conversation or two with some others playing with you.

 Even gained the nickname 'Krem' from someone you once talked with. You can't remember who it was or where the name came from, but ...you liked it.

 Now a days you haven't been online much. You'll be a adult soon, become a solider like your supposed you. You might skip out on that though.

 In case of the inevitable to try to go out more, to make friends but its not working. Its not just that you're shy and have anxiety (it mainly is though), its also becase of your Aura reading abilities. Because of this hard to explain power you can tell if a person if bad or good. Angry or happy. You tend to stay away from the Trolls with bad auras.

 Its also takes a lot of focus (since you have trouble focusing on anything for a long time in the first place) to see someone's Aura. So when they catch you starring at them its hard to talk to them after wards and explain why you were looking at them like you were trying not to explode.

 Anyway that's all there really is to say about you. Not too special you see. You live a simple life which is what you wanted. You hope it can stay simple.
