Okaayyy my fic idea. Its possibly going to be a dystopien omegaverse fic, reader is a omega, Price and Ghost are alpha's and Soap and Gaz betas (I've always imagined them like that since reading ur fic, but i make them other things depending on the ship. and what the story is like. like nikprice, i oftern think of alpha x alpha or make John a omega heh)

So outline part 1 is, the worlds population has been greatly plumeting, since the old goverment wasnt strict as the new one. The new goverment takes over, and builds a intitute that forces omegas into it as soon as they present to teach them to be the 'perfect omega'. its one of those VERY messed up places, like the guards or workers dont give a damn, they get no help and are brainwashed to not tell anyone abt how it works. (This was one of the parts where i was scared it was close to urs, thats why im yapping now so if u think its too close u can scold me and tell me to think of smt else LOL)

As soon as omega's hit 18, they are sent out into a pack or with an alpha. betas can join a waiting list, but alphas get priority. Now, when the rest of the task force was offered, they declined. But poor Johnny just wanted his own lass, he didn't think it'd be bad. so he joins the waiting list, and ends up getting reader. And well the rest arent happy cause now they gotta help look after this traumatised lil thing.

What i was thinking, Johnny has never had a omega, because of the intitute and goverment. So he has no proper idea on how to care for an omegas needs, like heats and everything. so he ends up getting the rest of the team to slowly help (it overtime becomes a poly relationship) but as reader feels safer, she ends up feeling safe enough to talk about what happened in the institute (cause whos gonna come after a military pack, they're protecting her?!)

but ofc, the goverment finds out and like nup they aint having that, and they take her back. (this is sometime idk when) but they all end up turning against the whole goverment and yada yada. Theres prob A LOT i would change so far and add, but I havent gotten that in depth yet.

let's talk about mr james trust issue hetfield, starting from 90s tallica (which. 👀👀👀 every time i talk abt it to my non tallica friends they are like "wh what the fuck?" and that's the only sane response)

when I think abt the codependency twins and secrets I usually think about this James interview from Rolling Stones 93

"There's little whispers and little games and little crap that goes on. But when it comes down to a problem, something serious going on, we go to each other, and there's no bullshit. When there's something serious being talked about, it's not talked about with the other guys or with anybody else. It's like an unwritten law. And I definitely like that."

I remember reading it and going "it was... almost normal, until you specified that 1) it was a silent law 2) you liked it that way

I dont think saying that James has trust issue is something controversial or new, so im taking that for granted to focus on WHEN he gives his trust and how with Lars he constantly gave it and took it away for DECADES.

A part from the fucked up part where you relish in having a secret deep bond that separates you from the rest of your bandmates + the fact that you dont even needed to state the rule for the rule to be born... what james is saying here is "when there is something important, i can trust him" and more specifically "i choose to go to him and no one else" (and the sentiment goes both ways but lars' side is not the point here) "because i trust him and not the other guys with what i consider important".

Now, imagine knowing this, having read this interview and many more, where EVEN IN THE 90S --even at the peak of rock 'n roll lifestyles, dysfunctions, white jackets, "little games, little whispers", aesthetic debates and so on-- you remember that EVEN THEN Lars talked about how the two of them had a lot of fights but couldn't bear to let pass more than 3 minutes before going to the other and apologize. And, uno mas: you have lars going around being happy that they both had children in the same year and talking about them growing older together!

THEN, be me in 2020, finally getting the This monster lives! book (the book abt the making of SKOM) and you read this:

JAMES: [...] I want to feel some trust. (to Lars) I just feel static all the time from you. PHIL: (to James) What would it take for you to trust him? JAMES: I have no idea. PHIL: No, what would it look like? JAMES: With him? I don't know. I don't know if I've ever seen it.

apart from me being gutted (bc believe me that if my 15+ year friend said that to me i would have had trouble breathing) i was.... disoriented? perplexed? like, yeah, it was a tough period and I can imagine that James would have some difficulty trusting Lars in that moment but... the last line? talking like trusting lars or lars being trust worthy was something that never could happen?? it. it doesn't make any sense.

He is not trying to be mean or hurt lars, he is being sincere and he is honestly trying to resolve their issues. He is saying what he is feeling in the moment.

and that goes even more sideways when Lars confesses his needs and vulnerabilities regarding James and--

JAMES: It doesn't hit me right... I don't know... PHIL: Doesn't hit you right, meaning you think he's bullshitting you? JAMES: Sure.

He doesn't even trust what Lars is saying IN THIS MOMENT. Not a word from his mouth. how could it be? How you can go from being weirdly proud of having a secret cult with only two members to *move hands* this.

He says, and i quote, "because there's been twenty years of mistrust", so basically every single year of their friendship (look at me jumping out of a bridge at this part because jesus FUCK it would hurt less). And look, I dont know them, and you can lie to the press, you can lie to the fans, you can act and pretend all you want bc it's the show business -- so it could be that all the times before james lied.

But if i believed in those lies,, so had Lars bc not long after that he fucked right off the room to take a breather.

But let's put to the side this, because Phil was a good therapist and took James through his reasonings about trust and especially why he feels this distrusting towards Lars in particular:

JAMES: [...] Like, when I walked in, I wanted to hug everyone in the room, but I didn't want to hug you. There's how I felt. It's not a lack of love. I didn't feel like touching you that way. I was carrying some of that ugliness, and it's not good for me. PHIL: And when he reached out for you, did you feel it was genuine? Or would you prefer to believe it wasn't, so you could feel safe? JAMES: Sure, that's the safest way to go, for sure. PHIL: So mistrust is a defence against being hurt. I mean, the more we find a reason not to trust somebody, the safer we feel. The closest relationships have the most difficulty with trust. JAMES: Uh-huh. KIRK: That's. Uh. Pretty amazing. JAMES: Because there is so much more to get hurt with, or so much to lose.

Basically, Lars was special.

That's it. That's the deal.

What James feels towards Lars is so big, it could go so wrong, it could hurt so much- that is better not opening to it, not trusting it --him.

Knowing this, all the parentheses click shut behind.

This is a big turning point in their approach to one another, imho. On Lars' end too, but you asked abt James so I'm gonna contain myself.

But I gotta say that, in MY OPINION, ABSOLUTELY OPINIONATED VIEW BASED ON WHAT I'VE SEEN AND NOTHING ELSE SO TAKE IT FOR WAT IT IS-- Lars after this learned not to need James so much, or he tried to. He confessed that he had a special need for him, to have a special connection, on a deeper level. And, like, it happens, when it happens in friendships is BRUTAL (have you ever considered someone your absolute bff to then discover they just thought you a casual friend? IMAGINE AFTER 20 YEARS).

So, to me, it felt like... He started to ask less, to ask of James what he would ask of his other friends and no more.

What did James do?

Started to point out how Lars was instrumental in the earlier days

Gave a lot more compliments and started to consistently underline in a positive way the length of their relationship

Saying OUT LOUD that he is special to him

Doing the weird thing that he does 85% of the time when the interviewer ask about Metallica in general and he just brings up Lars, only Lars. DUDE YOU HAVE OTHER 2 BAND MEMBERS (I don't think he does it consciously sjsjsjsjs and he loves rob and kirk! BUT DUDE)

I'm gonna expand the last one BC it was the first that I noticed back then. Mind you, Lars had always had Lars Privileges™️, I'm not even listing things bc it's everywhere, but now? like, 2005/6 going forward???? James consciously and openly let him and djjeksksksksk Lars noticed and basically did what he always does (the little shit): run with it to see how far he could push. Famously from that era: he wore NAKED AND SWEATY James embroidered bathrobe, saying that if someone could, that would be him, sitting on James' special stool, because he could. and then he started saying embarrassing shit about them in front of him, with James just ignoring him or looking in the middle distance, like "why the fuck he is like that" BUT LETTING HIM.

okay yeah so as promised, my view/take on pandalily (pandora x lily) or as i like to call them flora and fauna okay guys so as a child lily was hella close w petunia or wtv nd her own lil girl grp at school but hogwarts happens and now lily is ostracized by petunia and by extension, the girls bc petunias been telling them crap yk, but lily, shes not a pushover but she feels bad for petunia so she lets it slide and happen bc yk their still sisters, so her one other friend only is snape she gets to hogwarts and 100% struggles making friends, guys shes like the hermione of the golden trio era, nd she tries so hard but she js seems to really "bland" in comparison to every1 else yk, after like a couple weeks, shes forced into a grp project w marlene nd mary who are like "ykw shes not tht bad" nd they get close BUT lily always feels left out, bc marlene and mary have a bond unlike any other trust me on that, nd snape is in a whole different house as well keeps getting into figths w the potter boy in her house so she finds it difficult to spend time w him another imporant thing to note is over the years as she grows closer to other ppl like the marauders, she has to be the caretaker or wtv, every1s so rowdy and crazy and chaotic bc their teeangers and its normal, but som1 has to keep them in control and that som1 is lily bc she doesnt know what other role she can take on, so she becomes known for her motherlike nature and her smarts and talent on the topic of her smarts and talent, she has to remain humble nd crap abt them, she cant complain if she gets a 89 out of 90 bc thats still sm better than wtv the rest get, but she has to always always ALWAYS get rlly high bc above being a muggle, shes a woman and its the 1970s, so the pressure is high on her, theres sm expectations and she feels like shes drowning and all completely alone bc snape decides to call her a slur and ends their friendship cue pandora, the most whimsical, go with the flow, earthly, down to earth girl out there, she's lily's opposite and paralell in sm different ways, she's there when lily needs to be reminded its not the end of the world during exam weeks, or its okay to let yourself go sometimes and enjoy life, she shows lily a path to joy and love, and lily feels so understood she finds herself falling love and its beyond pandora being support for lily, lily who loves knowledge and pandora who loves all things weird, they go out on silly expeditions, find rocks, make up consetallations, make pottery together, do painting and all sorts of arts, pandora loves making jewllery for lily who loves wearing it and showing it off and its not just one sided from pandora lily gives sm to pandora, she learns how to braid hair so she nd pandora can spend more time tgt, she sees trinkets and is reminded of her so she buys them for pandora, when pandora's vision become tm, lily is there always, steadying her lily and pandora my loves, they walk barefoot holding hands in open grassfields, lily leaves her signature cherry red lipstick all over pandora, pandora leaves charms/beads or small braids in lily's hair, they love growing fruits tgt, esp all kinds of berries, lily laughs at the devastation of pandora who realizes banana's are berries but starwberries arent, they fool around mostly during the day, lily needs her 8hr of sleep and pandora says their evil lurking about in the night pandora knits them them oversized pairs of fuzzy socks that dont match at all, lily thinks it absurb but then sirius says sum abtt hem, she hexes him lily is so protective of pandora she finds herself loosing everything and everyone in her vicinity and she doesnt want pandora to fall vicim to tht, pandora who reassures her itll take more than a (insert something) to seperate the two, lily who just wants to stay in pandora's arms and never let go and if she hears any1 mocking pandora her love, her sweetheart, she'll go batshit, it

like what legit reasons is the game GOOD?

are they characters as nuanced as you would want them to be? do you play bg3 and adore the complexity of astarion and can you even remotely compare that to a character like neve? or lucanis? think of any well written nuanced character, and do any of the veilguard characters live up to that character in your head? if so, why do these characters live up to that standard or why don’t they?

what reasons does never have for saving the world ? she wants to save her city? why does she want to save her city?

does she have family? was she a mage in the minrathous circle? perhaps she saw the effects of slavery on a person she cared abt?

why does lucanis care about his family? what does the game show to show his loyalty to the crows? why are the crows a faction worthy of being loyal to pre-antaam??

bellara at least makes sense but the veil jumpers dont so I don’t give a shit abt her. scout is just there. why? “because world need me savin.” uh okay any other motivations? nope. varric’s tangential connection to the team doesn’t give me his motivations. emmrich is cool. i needed to know why davrin didnt give a shit abt the dalish so that he could go and be a warden— maybe a negative impact they had on his life would’ve made me go! Ah! that makes sense!

i struggle to understand how any of these characters are remotely comparable to the complexity shown in previous games of Dragon Age, and even then though they were good— I’ve seen better writing characterwise OUTSIDE of bioware.

i think— and i’m being so for real— liking the game is just massive cope. It’s been ten years. We’re desperate for a game. There’s new twists. New characters to latch onto even if they’re mediocre and pale in comparison to older ones. Sometimes the writing has inkling of good but then it’s snatched away from the next scene.

The game represents hope to ppl, but actually looking at it with a critical eye it realllyyyy starts to fall apart. it’s why ppl are deflecting all criticism as “being negative/gatekeepy” and “bigoted” (lol as a nb person)

this is just the last star wars movie all over again, and once the “new and shiny” and nostalgia fades it’s the crap circus that bioware has concocted all along.

and if you view the rest of the games lore and writing all with the same critical lense it all just falls apart.

and i’m not sorry for wanting better.

Apocolypse Shopping

Just a one-shot of the group going to the store, this is well into the apocolypse, I hope I got fierce and deecaptured well. @fiercestyourmajesty you can like tell me if anything was out of charecter or if i should add smth. ESSPESIALLY with blair bc i wanted to add her but idk much abt her charecter so I tried my best. I made her sort of "silent but protective of fierce." idk.

There are many words for what they’re doing. Scavenging. Looting. Foraging.

They just call it “apocalypse shopping.” 

In an abandoned Walmart, heavy, dee, fierce, blair and penelope walk through the isles of decaying food. Looking for something salvageable. The smell is horrible, but they can barely notice, afterall, being around rotting bodies usually is worse. This was a step up.

“Okay,” Penelope says, sitting in a grocery cart, chewing on a pen cap and holding a water damaged note pad. “We’re looking for some canned food, batteries, medical crap, clothes, and -” She squints at the paper and raises her voice. “Hey, who’s girly ass handwriting is this” she slaps the note pad with emphasis “ I didnt write this - okay who the fuck wrote ‘shoes for penny’.” 

 Dee mutters, pushing the cart with her inside it. His back hunched with the worst posture. “You gave yourself a rash by throwing your shoes as a distraction. You’ve been bearfoot for a week. So pardon me for adding it to the list” He says sarcastically.

“Okay but that save was bad-ass and you know it.” Penelope states, looking back at dee. He rolls is eyes. “And I dont wanna wear shoes-” She puts her feet in the air. “I feel so free..” Heavy, walking beside them, snickers quietly and dee shoots him a look. Heavy straightens his face and dee jerks the cart making her stumble.

“I’m tired of looking at your feet” He leans to her, almost threatening her. “Im getting you some fucking shoes.” Right as she turns around to say something, fierce interjects with a groan.

“Oh my god can you guys please not?” Her hair whips behind her, as she gives them a look. Dee immediately shuts up and penelope mouths the word sorry and fierce just kinda looks at her. They walk in silence for a few moments, with nothing but the sound of the squeaky cart, and the click of penelope's pen as she doodles dee getting a cartoon anvil dropped on him. Then blair tugs at fierces shirt, looking distressed. Fierce bends down and looks at her, she was having a vision. She whispered in her ear and fierce whips her hand up as a signal to stop walking. Dee jerks the cart again, making Penelope hit her head on the back. 

“Ow what the fu-” She holds the back of her head but fierce shushes her.

“SHh! There-” She points, and out from an isle, a pan rolls out and tumbles like a quarter spinning on the ground. She glances at dee, he nods at her and motions to heavy to go check it out. Heavy slowly and quietly goes to peak into the isle. As his head turns past the corner he yells.

“Hell Yeah!!” Blair jumps at the loud yell, heavy turns back and looks at penelope. “Meat Isle!!!” She lights up and scrambles out of the cart, her scuffed up feet hitting the tile, and accidentally knocking the cart into dee. She runs to heavy and stops for a moment to apolagize.

"s-sorry dee" she says, clearly more focused on what heavy was talking about.

“Hey! What the fuck?! Why-? You cant just-” Confused, dee looks at fierce with a what the fuck look on his face. He pushes the cart to the side and him and fierce pull out their weapons, with dee a few steps ahead of her, acting as a shield, and blair ready to transform if needed. They look into the isle and sigh. There’s heavy and penelope in a pit of shamblers (barely walking zombies), smashing their heads and laughing. Dee looks to fierce.

“Meat Isle… I get it.” he says, monotone, almost like he heard a really bad joke. Fierce couldn't help but smile at dee. She always found him adorable in the most random moments. Blair spots penelope's notepad on the ground, and hands it to fierce silently. Fierce takes it.

“While they do that-” She lightly shakes the notepad at dee, playfully. “Lets actually get the ‘shopping’ done.” Dee smiles at her with a sigh, for almost a moment he forgot where he was, what was happening. Then a severed head rolls to his boot and looks straight up at him. He yelps and jumps towards fierce, almost into her arms. Blair laughs right at him, maybe a little too loudly.

“Sorry!” Penelope yells as she holds a decapitated body.” Dee grimaces at her. 

“You’re fucking disgusting, you know that?” He yells, holding onto fierces arm, still grossed out by the head. She smiles at him.

“Yk im kinda glad you two are back to petty fights again-” Fierce says. Dee looks up at her, confused, she elaborates. “Makes things feel normal” Dee stands up straight and scoffs. 

“Hah, normal. Right.” He clears his throat, and holds back a smile. “Lets just, finish the shopping, yeah. They’ll be fine on their own”

I’ve been asked to voice my opinion about this topic numerous times, and here’s what I’m gonna say:

I don’t give two damns about either one! You heard me!

The arguments annoy me to the hells because it’s one person going “I like my classic flower girl and emo shadow angst fest” vs “I like my nature girl and a fire boy awkward fest”

Honestly, I’ve never been a fan of Elain or Azriel. I remember reading for the first time and within the first few pages I told my friend who had recommended me the book that she seemed bitchy and empty, she has a bit more personality now but idk just never my favorite.

I would like to see more of her character in future books before I make my entire assumption and assimilate my opinions

However, Azriel never stuck out to me. Kinda basic shadowboy ngl. And I know I’m about to have every SINGLE AZRIEL GIRLIE BE LIKE “dOnT u tALk cRaP AboUT OuR MAn”

He’s never stuck out for me cuz he has no personality besides flirt and I have big wings. It’s not that I hate him, it’s just that I wish he was given more personality if SJM would do that, but I don’t think so.

Lucien. Everyone’s favorite flirt who doesn’t try to be more than he is. He’s subtle and a little bit of an asshole but he has personality! And flare, and a good ass backstory!

I honestly only want him to be happy, I could care less about the other two I just want Lucien to get a break from his copious amounts of PTSD from his long crappy-esc life

Another thing, BRING BACK JESMINDA

SJM, you already revived a ton of others, why not Jesminda? She was one of the best characters in the whole book series and she was literally dead. Like, she was one of the few stable relationships Lucien had and she died.

Now hear me out when I say this, Lucien should maybe stay single, for the time being, for his mental health

He needs to heal too, don’t forget that, let him heal with Jurian and Vassa and not be seen as a spy or as a shady guy when he needs a break.

Not to mention he’s apparently in the spring court rn so we’ll see more of that
