watching the 1990 LOTF movie!! my reactions:

hello all!!!! i was bored at midnight again so here it is: me watchin the 1990 movie, for the first time, hell yeah!!!!! here we go!!! its got the other movie to live up to, so im excited for a comedy lmao!! tl;dr at end if u want!!! its kinda long btw lmao

- k this isnt a big thing but why are they in water? the plane left a scar in the earth, they were on land.

- okay, again, me nitpicking. but idk, to me, they dont look 12?? maybe its just cause theyre all dressed up n that but they dont look like 12 yr olds to me like the last movie

tl;dr/conclusion/my thoughts: hooooo boy so i see why everyone likes 1960 one better.

first, lets start with the obvious: why this isnt lord of the flies. because its not. if this wasnt telling me that its lord of the flies, i would think of it as that, really. first off, the conch. the conch represents civility, it brings them together. its important. when piggy dies, it dies, representing how all civility is now gone. i maybe saw the conch three times this movie. didnt do anything.

second, the pilot, captain whatever. the point of the beast to me is that they made it up. sure, the corpse was real, but it didnt pose a threat, it was simply a corpse. they made it into what it was, therefore proving that they are the beast. sure, the pilot here was harmless, but he grbbed a boy’s foot and was therefore making himself a possible threat. maybe its not a big deal i guess.

third, the characters. the point of lord of the flies is that they are rich kids who havent gone through anything. theyre the perfect, spoiled kids who havent done anything wrong. half of them are in choir. chOIR. in this movie, lets take jack for example. they said he stole a car and got sent to military school. no. the point of jack is that he was a perfect kid. leader of choir. he was manipulitive and got even ADULTS to trust him. its part of hs character, showing that this perfect choir leader kid went fucking insane to prove how literally everyone can be evil. also samneric???? the direspect!! they were loyal to ralph until they were tied up and FORCED to join jack, and even then, after roger like beat the shit out of them, they were STILL loyal. fuck you.

so those are the MAIN reasons why it wasnt lotf.

now, what i liked i guess.

the swearing was NOT lotf, and it didnt fit with the story, but ill admit that i laughed, so i guess thats a plus.

second, i liked how they showed the gore, i guess? sounds weird, hear me out. lord of the flies is a gruesome, violent, awful book. theres descriptions of death in detail, and im so glad they showed it. when simon’s body was there, literally torn to shreds? the shock of it, the true savagery you see that these boys murdered him SO violently, is amazing, because thats the essence of lotf. simons death shows how theyve lost all their civility, and showing such a gruesome corpse really brings that through. so good job.

and now, of course, the obvious: thats not the characters i pictured when i read the story. simon doesnt look like that, ralph doesnt look like that, jack doesnt look like that.

where did the choir go, too? forgot to mention that, and i think that also adds into the whole, theyre supposed to be perfect kids and then become savage thing. also, the choir was a group. they voted for jack and went with him for a reason.

so yea, thats that. dont know why people would read this lmao but thats my thoughts!!!! i just need to keep myself busy when i watch movies and to make sure i focused, i figured id just write down my thoughts as i went. if u wanna watch for free, look up lord of the flies 1990 google drive.

estelle 'essie' kim 23 loves sunsets and the color orange, a hoe for it wants to be a PR director, cant be incontrol of her own life but why not someone elses xx pay ur way into life !

anyways im gna bulletpoint this girls life bc if ur like me . i take forever to read long paragraphs !

estelle hates it when ppl call her estelle, u have to be like super close to her to use her full name otherwise you'll end up flipped inside out !

she grew up in new orleans ! secsi ass city w secsi ass people, god she loved the rich culture and how pretty the city of new orleans can be until her parents got a divorce and she decided to live w her mother instead !and her mom decided to marry some rich ass ceo , her new mom is secsi and rich sos he dont mind living in uglie ass maryland ! i mean its nothing like new orleans but u kno its whatever OIGMKDH

she has no vendetta against her parents divorcing but it definitely slowly began to close her off from her sister and her dad, most of her teen years and childhood were left with her hanging around her house alone, it was definitely a change from going to a loud city to somewhere quiet and that affected her persoanlity a lot you can say? but not drastically. it's definitely where she got her need to have quiet time a lot, it's something she's adapted too

one day she was messing around with some pals and that was one day she'd wanted to forget, where her friends and her messing about and ended up burning her neighbors mansion down and her friends ran , fckn fakes but she stood bc she felt so bad but she couldn't move and then when the fed came to ask what happened she only blamed it on the grill, she never spoke about it again and also cut them off for ditching her ,

theres a reacurrence w her supressing what happens to her, the divorce, the fire, bc she just doesn't wanna dwell on the things that went wrong in her life or she'd be in a miserable ass mood for the rest of her life, honestly she's here to have a good time . live fast DIE YOUNG BAD GIRLS DO IT well !

okay onto her personality !

this binch is kinda fickly, like shes two sides of a coin. she can be someone who's really different at night compared to who she is during the day, she loves doing things that give her a rush of excitement, like this bitch lives for doing shady dumb shit like honestly who wants to be 50 and realize they didn't do anything w their lives. not her!

GOD she loves sunsets, she thinks they're os sexi and it's the softest thing about her like she needs to see every sunset there ever is bc no matter how many she's seen every one is a new one , brings new excitement and brings her hope of another day i think its definitely one of those moments where you see a side of her where she isn't trying to be blunt or snarky, but more of someone of her old self before she began to shut parts of herself off and create this facade of something out of a dream she molded herself u kno ? what a fake

UGHUIFJGKDMH she hates . hates comfort like pls if u cry around her she'll only buy off ur sadness but like she'll try her best not to be that person that just writes it off, she may suck at it but she shows her love and comfort in the smallest ways

her magic comes from a distant relative like think mmuggle borns from harry potter, they werent born with magic from a magical parent but someone in her family line ! but thts some history on how she got her magic

as for marisol, i believe essie never really thought about her as much as she should have, so it wouldn't have mattered for her that she died and power is secsi, who doesn't like it ? u kno, so she didn't give much thought after it happened it was another memory to supress and move on from ! but shes never had any of her past problems come to haunt her before so now that mari is rising up again it's giving her anxiety over the fact she cannot hide it as much as she tries to !

The skin of Elise’s knuckles lightened as her fists clenched on the kitchen counter. She’d been dicing onions for a breakfast omelette but Kale’s noises from upstairs were distracting her as they drifted to her ears from the vent above her head. The kitchen was directly below their shared bedroom, so she could hear every single sound he made, even the bed creaking under his weight.

Washing her hands quickly, she grabbed a nearby towel to dry them off before heading towards the long, twisting marble staircase leading to the upstairs hallway, following the grunts and groans of her beloved husband.

As she peered into the bedroom, she gasped at the sight before her. Kale was lounging on the mattress, a rose placed between his succulent lips and a single cut from one of the thorns garnishing his lower lip. He probably should’ve cut all the thorns off before placing it in his mouth but he was never the smart one. His chest glistened under the light of the full moon, even though just a few seconds ago, Elise was making a breakfast omelette and typically those are made in the morning. She just didn’t have a good concept of time and made breakfast omelettes at night and steaks at eight o’clock in the morning.

“Hello, beautiful,” Kale said seductively, waggling his eyebrows.

“What was all this noise up here?” Elise asked, looking around the bedroom.

Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary, except for the fact that her husband was half-naked on their bed with a bleeding lip.

“I was just thinking about you, so naturally those sounds fell from my plump pillows. I’m talking about my lips, by the way. Those sounds fell from my lips.”

She nodded, licking her eyebrow. “And what were you thinking about?”

“Your beautiful blonde hair, your gorgeous blue eyes, your—”

“I have black hair, Kale,” she corrected him, crossing her arms.

“And I have green skin.”

Suddenly, the atmosphere in the room changed. Instead of Elise being incredibly hesitant as to her vegetable’s—I mean, husband’s—intentions, she found her clothes flying off and out the window. She wondered for a fleeting moment why the window was open in the first place because they lived in a mansion that was two million stories tall and they agreed when they moved in never to open a window because that’s how the previous owner died. As she thought about him, she wondered if he was watching them right now because he liked to haunt the place, making doors randomly open—except it wasn’t randomly because he would have doors fly open only when they were about to open them, so really it was more of a convenience rather than an inconvenience.

okkkkk uhhh ill try to not spoil but-

Blitzen is technically from Alayveon, however he was hatched in Brazil due to his mother fleeing Alayveon. He then proceeds to get persuaded by the government of Alayveon to have him back and take his role as an Elemental Dragon. (Elemental Dragons are Alayveons form of government, having different Dragons from different backgrounds create laws and watch over the land.) Blitzen is a half-dragon, he is half Aywire (electric dragon (i made up the name a while ago and it stuck) and Fruitdactyl. The two breeds are very close with both having the same large floppy ears and electric powers. The only difference is that Aywires have One set of ear and Fruitdactyls have two. OH and Fruitdactyls have a fluffy down covering their scales and have beaks.

Helix is a Firedrake and in their culture they are expected to grow out a plume of hair most Firedrakes have. According to him, his hair is the best. Helix may have a snappy personality but if he considers you a friend he WILL fight to the death for you. Helix was named after a pencil sharpener I had in 6th grade while I sat in my math class dying of boredom. Helix was originally MUCH more edgy with a dark blue skin and black hair with red on the ends. He also was just as evil as Falka.

Bolton (who is just an oc I use to draw and practice with) is based off of multiple people I know and have seen. Mostly not very nice people XD but Bolton is a nice bab he just puts up a front to seem tough! His name is a corruption and an inside joke shared with my friend but imnotsayinganythingmore!

Falka has a LOT of motives for wanting all Dragons dead, or at least some good ones in my opinion. He’s very hard to talk about without spoiling so lets just say hes VERY loyal. Falka was originally a creature with as many different animals jam packed into a design. He was the God of Discourse and Calamity but he’s been toned down because E D G E. I actually brought him back from the dead and remade him into a Griffin not so long ago. He has a voice I hear him as but I wont say who unless asked personally because said character looks A LOT like him despite me not taking inspiration from said character?? Idk its just a coincidence and I dont want people thinking I stole the character XD Falka is MUCH different than the character personality wise though despite looking like them.

Snek has a deep rooted hate for Humans but only because he finds them greedy and rude. Sneks gem is literally his heart. It gives him his power and is coveted by Falka due to its ability to give life and immortality. Sneks gem in his tummy is shaped like a necktie due to him having authority over Alayveon, and another small thing is that Falka and Sneks color scheme is flipped. Falka is mainly red with hints of gray and Snek has mainly grey with his gem being red.

Alayveon has had one(1) war and one rebellion. The war was between Dragons and Humans with a bit of Griffins. The war resulted in Falka realizing his goals and acting upon them and Snek becoming the king of Alayveon and setting the building blocks for the ED. The rebellion on the other end, was between Dragons and Griffins and resulted in Falka being put into a mirror realm far from Dragon-kind and Alayveon officially being isolated from most Human contact. The rebellion takes place about 5 years after the war. And Snek signed a treaty with the Griffins and they all have to live in the Northern parts of Alayveon with no exceptions after the rebellion too.

The main story takes place roughly (dont quote me on this) 18 years after the rebellion, And 23 years after the war. Alayveon has moved on from the damage and most structures have been rebuilt. Before the war, Humans actually built a lot of castles and houses that Dragons now inhabit!

The ED serves as a way of checks and balances, like the branches in U.S government but without the old farts. However, its not all checks and balances with the ED being tasked with taking down criminals personally. Each Element has an assigned partner based on their Element. This will be explored in the comic when I get to the part though because this is getting pretty long!

A character I have barely touched on, Axle fought in the war and rebellion. He is a tough cookie and has fought Falka one on one before and stood his ground until backup came.

Aquallis has an unusual job and abandons his Elemental Dragon job for it. He makes some bad choices but with the new job meets Suzy, his soon to be wife. He’s very passionate for science but loves Suzy more. He makes a lot of sacrifices and its up to you guys if he’s a redeemable derg.

Toby who hasnt been seen yet, is a big baby. I really love him as a character but I cant nail his design AT ALL. Soo he’s bffs with Dew, the Dragon of life and grass, But Toby, is the ED of Death and is in charge of soul collecting. Despite their jobs being opposites they are very good friends. Toby has the power to cry and effect those nearby with soul crushing sadness. This power comes in handy due to him not wanting to hurt anyone and its used to slow down the enemy whilst another ED(Dew) takes them down.

My personal favorite character is Arkozo! He is a Griffin who has been shunned by both Dragons and his own kind. He lives in an icy forest and has created a reputation for his appearance. He has a run in with Falka in fact, and was personally asked to join Falkas army. He turns this down. Probably. His brother, though they have NO similarities is Aypr. Aypr is the king of the Griffin territory and is a tyrant. The Griffins are suffering god help them. its cold, they have no help, the war left them crippled financially and theyre run by a crazy lunatic.

I don’t speak Latin fluently but I know some odd words here and there! But the reason as to why I have included Latin names in IWSY is because of the lore I chose to make as the background of my story. I didn’t just want to use English because I believe that the story would have lost it’s depth and feel! :D

Impromptu post, thoughts during 5.05

I'm so pissed I literally lost an earring at some point today and just realized. So I ripped my dorm room apart looking for it (no luck of course) and now it's 9:30 so I already missed half of the new episode of Jane the Virgin. Also my earrings are from Tiffany's, they were a Christmas gift a couple years ago & I can't afford to replace it😭 whatever you guys don't care about this, I'm so tired but I refuse to fall asleep at 9:30pm because I'll wake up at like 5am.
