hmmm lowkey Todd?? i dont really like him but the scene you can have with him at the bus with Kara and Alice was really nice. He is a terrible person and father but he's presented as really human. The game shows how hes multi-faceted and how he came to be the person he is but doesn't excuse his actions either. Infact it's really interesting and ties into the themes of the game, about capitalism and how it doesn't have the best interests of people in mind and how people who fall into poverty are fast tracked to destructive coping habits that result in negative consequences for them and the people around them. -(sorry, i am just obsessed with Places and Magic) I like the idea of your farmer being drawn to pelican town bc they have a bit of magic in them. The letter is just A Letter, but it is the desire to see this town that makes them leave their old life behind. I am obsessed w the idea that the magic in the farmer craves the valley bc it sees the valley as its home, and by extension, the farmer sees the valley as their home. The people of pelican town rarely leave bc the magic in them sees the valley as their home always. The biggest examples of this are Kent, Demetrius, Evelyn, Emily and Shane. The huge exceptions to this (still workin on it) are lewis and sebastian; lewis bc i see him as a normal, non-magical being trying to wrangle the weirdness of this town, and sebastian bc his feelings of isolation and not being understood propels him to crave the world outside of the valley. (That changes a bit if u befriend him/romance him)

-(shane is weird bc hes super depressed and lonely but his happiness comes from his new ‘ragtag family’ (his words) and his very Not Normal chickens. The animals of the valley love him bc he loves them and he becomes tied to the valley bc of it. Marnie has always loved the animals of the valley and some of the love they had for her definitely rubbed off onto shane, who very openly admits he loves the chickens 💙)

-I wasnt very fond of the idea of purple=magic but i think that was bc i often saw it as a way to tie-in the wizard and abigail. I am still trying to get through the friendships for everyone but rn it doesnt feel like theres any connection between them (and caroline). But. I do like the idea of odd, unnatural colors coming through bc of magic. Alex and Pierre having normal brown hair; Haley and Sam being true blondes. BUT. Shane and Jas having purple-ish hair. secret posts for tumblr cuz i dont like posting long rambley blog things to twitter :3 decided to do the shiny pokemon alongside the masterball which might against all odds after 22 years be one of if not The first regular ass items retexture...

the textures are all for the most part just ripped from pokemon stadium 2 which is fair considering melee's development time and also the considerably lower necessary poly count for a little spawnable dude. it also means that i can just use whatever ps2 does for shinies and LUCKILY it has that weird ass HSL system that means i can just grab the textures off of spriters resource (large shoutout to my man Mr. C for extracting them so i don't have to) and wiggle the colors around correctly and just chuck them in. i did have to grab the master ball texture from some furret minigame for authenticity. both this texture and the pokemon colors are different to modern colors but melee players are either too zoomer to care or too old to know they changed, so it's fine. the master ball wouldn't work on the regular uv so i had to fiddle around in blender and i figured i might as well add a Little detail but i'm p sure this is my first actual model swap so i probably still fucked up...i know some stuff didn't import correctly but it looks mostly fine now.

ditto has a unique texture for his Goo

porygon is made of solid color in melee. seemingly all the other pokemon in melee use tiny 8x8 solid color textures for bodyparts of a single color (something that stadium did) but porygon is Properly done with like vertex lighting and shit, probably because his original texture was just a fake shiny thing so it would have looked ugly with a proper lighting engine

unown models don't show up in hsdraw idk why!!! probably bc there are 26 of them. it works in DAT wizard tho

snorlax has a yellow mout in the viewer but i think that might also be hsdraw dying

a lot of textures with partial transparency like goldeen fins or porygon eyes are very subtly different in melee, i'm not sure if its the melee dev team cleaning them up or if its a case of the originals being compressed and losing some of that in stadium, but regaining it in a more sophisticated engine. cant say but the textures still line up so idc

clefairy is the only pokeball pokemon in melee with unique textures for its shiny form, and i have to be specific because some are not in melee (like gyrados) and some are not from pokeballs (like jigglypuff)

Action Man & Mud Demon

Aka my first Flipaclip animation. Action Man is a Toko-Kakian who lost on earth, he gain his power through an accident while tried returning home. While mud demon is a living weapon created by an unknown place for war purpose.

Action Man/Allen Ace once volunteered on a gadget testing, they said it was a multiversal teleporter, to test the multiverse theory. While being for the first time, evrything seems working perfectly, until the destinator went error and sends Allen to DreamSpace. Although multiverse theory still doesnt improve, atleast the alien theory is real? (DreamSpace is an otherwordly realm sooo...) (dun worry ill explain more about this place)

Midway his journey to return home, a Dreamling wanted to help him in. He eventually agreed since seems like theres no other way than this. N guess what? It worked but at cost of that Dreamling. Thankfully since the Dreamling knows metempsychosis, the Dreamling resides in Allen's body but dont worry tho dat dreamlings chill and dont commit possesion™, soo hooray and oh no, i guess. Once again he is teleported to wrong place, this time its earth. And now while trying to regaining power, Allen sometimes helps people on earth with the crimes. Also Allen tries to find new body for the Dreamling since its kinda troubling to have anither voice yapping their ass out in your brain lolol.

Meanwhile Mud Demon, like i said before, is a living weapon. Since he have emotion and always questioning everyone's moral, he's counted as malfunct. After he disobeying command again and again, he soon is banished to be lefted dead. Many years of solitude and loneliness finally made him bitter and finally careless about everyone's life. He declares revenge on everyone...he later found earth and decided it to be his first target.

Unpopular Opinion: I think that Greg should have been a bigger part of Steven's life in the show and in general. Yeah, he went and lived with the gems because they hand a house so they could raise Steven, but Rose had Steven eith Greg. Greg is Steven's father and while I am 100% for there being 4 (7 if you count ruby, sapphire, and Garnet lol) parental figures, but I think the human Male influence should have been for him more. The kid,like, hit puberty alone in space surrounded by fem alien rocks and you are telling me Greg WASNT THERE TO HELP HIM!?

Pair that I'm not a fan of: Eh I didnt really get the Amethyst and Pearl ship. I mean, there is some awesome fan art, but I dont really see where it is coming from.

Character I feel the writers screwed up: I think there was so much love and effort put into making Peridot a crystal gem and then we just like almost never see it. I think they really dropped the ball with her.
