Ellie, during one of her stints of what do I do with my life right now, decides to, with the help of her Original Dad-Person (Look he’s aging and she’s not and it gets less questions the older he gets if he says daughter instead of sister with how the Fentons are getting older too) creates a Boo-Tube channel. No, not a Youtube channel, those are stuck to a single dimension.

Bootube on the other hand? Due to being through the Realms (and wow is Tucker getting so much income from creating it) is interdimensional. Which is so cool honestly. And she doesn’t know what to do at first, and honestly there’s already so many travel blogs that she kind of just… decided to do something that she wished someone had done for her and her brothers and Danny when she was new to the world. 

So she creates the channel CAAW: Clone Awareness, Accommodations, and Welfare. They had to learn things through trial and error, but maybe she can help someone out there learn how to find their own selves, or even help someone not melt.

in the modern au would they adopt?

There's been talk of this a couple of times before and I'm still on the fence about it myself. I think Vasco likes the idea of fatherhood and would have children if given the choice. Machete doesn't hate children but is strongly unnerved and doesn't know how to deal with them. So the odds of them agreeing to initiate the adoption process aren't promising, but if they, by some random chance, found themselves responsible for a child, it's entirely possible they would grow very attached to the kid and excel as parents.

You know the Shotgun Wedding Megatron variant of the Doner Clause AU has to have interesting implications for Tarn's Relationship with his Father-in-law. Tarn has to copy sempai Megatron so you know he's gonna be a devoted little worshiper/priest of Megatronus. He's not an Athiest in this one because complete Freedom of Worship (including the right not to) in Megatron's magnum opus. Plus the High Priest of Solus' own conjux decreed the wedding.

Tourniquet is predisposed to dislike the guy on principle. The Healer had time to accept the Nurse's eventual settling down with a sweetspark, especially since you hadn't taken the Trial to be a full-fledge Healer, opting to support instead, and slowly decreasing your ventures with Tourniquet into the wilderness and off-world outposts. Tourniquet had fuel pump failure from the barrage of realizations that not only Deadzone stole away his darling balefire that latched onto him as a lost emberling but had gotten sparked and then abandoned in a distant galaxy with no way back!

If Deadzone was alive, he would be a dead mech crawling. Literally. The Healer would slowly carve the fleeing 'con into pieces as he used the mech as live bait for the more cannibalistic targets or mech-eating species.

Tourniquet will have a lot of conflicting emotions about the entire thing.

On one hand, your new spouse is a dedicated mech that's taking care of your needs and isn't squeamish like the last one. On the other hand, the mech is an offworlder as well, and you're adamant to stay bonded to the mech with a lot of issues stemming from broken Seekerkin-coding.

Tourniquet would need a lot of guided meditation via hymns and sparring with his own kind because he needs that level of brutality to clear his head on how the First Conjunx had a hand on tying you and Tarn together as Resonants and the High Priest of the Fallen had declared for the marriage. How can a Healer go against their own patron's love?

You're torn between setting up tentative meetings in the outskirts at a festival with the bitties or ensuring they will never, ever meet. You know that your adoptive creator/mentor will be highly upset because Tourniquet, in some ways, is a traditionalist. (On a side note, Tarn thinks it's a complete sin that Tourniquet doesn't garnish his drinks. Meanwhile, Tourniquet is upset that Tarn is too focused on the overall appearance rather than the resulting taste, especially since the fruit rinds can be used in other applications. )

like you'll have people claiming they're progressive saying you shouldn't adopt (though I do agree w this one privatized adoption is an evil industry), you shouldn't foster and especially not foster to adopt, you shouldn't use donated eggs or sperm, you shouldn't use a surrogate, and you shouldn't have children if you're poor or mentally ill/neurodivergent. and they'll say these are all examples of child abuse because a child can only ever be healthy and happy when they're with their birth parents who are rich.

Watching a video from a YouTuber I follow discussing how they picked the sperm donor for their child and I have to admit I have more questions about some of the comments

Like 'you talk about selecting donor traits like you're picking something at the supermarket' okay well first of all I genuinely don't know how you can discuss picking traits in a donor any other way? In a system that gets you a ton of info detached from, you know, actually knowing the person, at some point I feel like a level of detachedness is a bit inevitable

Also, let's be honest, picking donor traits is a thing that happens for kids born of consensual sex, it's just that at the time you do it you're thinking of them as things you like in a sexual partner? I mean like, there are people out there who refuse to date blondes or absolutely will not romantically engage with a Taurus, and personally I think they're the same vein of choices just less explicitly so?

I'm also kind of amazed that people seem to assume meeting the donor's other children is either a big yes from the get go or a permanent no like. The YouTuber in question's child is 3, are we really saying it's unethical not to send them to meet other potentially significantly older random kids yet? There are nuances there idk

I did find the discussions on the child's perspective interesting, and definitely it's worth looking at in more depth definitely
