hey sorry im just curious. How come you dont like beast x ancient? Whats wrong with it? arent they actually kinda like soulmates or somethin like that?

It's the mutual romance angle that I don't like, it just feels kinda off and wrong for me, given what the beasts put the ancients through. I just don't see the ancient going through beast-inflicted trauma and then turning around and confessing their love. I know some people give them aus where it makes more sense, and that's fine, but it's just not my personal cup of tea yknow? And again I don't have any issue with people who ship them like that, it's just ehhh not for me.

I WILL say that I'm behind the idea of beast x ancient if it's unrequited love though, as in the beast has a toxic crush on the ancient. That feels more in character to me. It's how I see SM/PV personally, Burning Spice could feel that for Golden Cheese post-chapter (lowkey waiting to see if ES/HB are the same. kinda hope so lol), and I suppose some people would still call that Shadowvanilla/Burningcheese? I wouldn't, but that just goes into a whole other topic of what classifies as a ship and what doesn't. It just boils down to the individual's interpretation at the end of the day, I suppose.

but all in all ship and let ship yknow, I have better things to do than join the CRK Shipping War lol. I've got my opinions and that's as good as that. if anything, im more bothered/tired that some of these ships take up 80% of certain tags, but not much you can do about that lmao

Now I enjoy a fucked up villain/hero relationship as much as the next bisexual, but honestly? I just don't think Batman cares about the Joker that much. I don’t think he's interested in him. Not even psychologically. I don’t think he cares about what's going on in his head past whatever he needs to know to stop his current plot. He is not sitting in the cave wrestling with conflicting emotions about him, he's popping an aspirin because he has to deal with this fucker again.

things I wish I could relive for the first time again:

that magical window where you finish a new piece of media, having watched/read it all by yourself with no fandom contact whatsoever, and you are just so happy about it, and full of interesting theories and takeaways, and just in love with it as a gorgeous piece of art.

because I swear to god as soon as you join the fandom for anything, you're bombarded with how you're supposed to view characters and their arcs, how you're supposed to morally and ethically judge the plot and the ways it apparently failed to present the right message, and if you don't you'll either be shunned for not sharing the popular headcanons or you'll be harassed for not criticizing the source material enough.

like how is it that the fans of a piece of media are also the ones being the most negative about it? If I like a show or a movie or a book, well, I liked it. That's kind of the point. I'm actually not here to tear it apart and talk about how it didn't live up to standards other people had! I enjoyed it for what it was, and forcing myself to find negative things to say about it doesn't actually bring me more enjoyment of it or reap any benefit to me. Fandom's a double-edged sword; you want to join a community to share your love for a piece of art, and the price you pay for a modicum of joy is a mountain of negativity. that's one main reason that I never engage with fandom until I'm completely done with a show, because if I was plugged into all of that commentary and discourse during the process, I'd be completely colored by how I'm expected to interpret everything this piece of art is presenting to me without being able to even form my own opinions.

they read an amazing script, signed up to be in the film, but NO LAW says the studio cannot completely change the script, their character, and everything else about the movie after they've signed

they heard that an actor/director they like will be in it, or were directly asked to join by someone on the project they respect

they genuinely need the paycheck (which CAN be protected by law) the same way other people work at McDonald's

they wanted to try something new (some actors do get bored, guys)

they prefer indies where the managers are dedicated to the craft not the box office lottery

shockingly, their every move is NOT dictated by strangers on the internet, aka fans

Lunar had a right to treat Nexus/New Moon how he did, Nexus wasn't exactly his Moon and they weren't as close so the bond was very different.

Nexus at the time considering the idea of him being Moon but a full restart, wasn't knowledgeable 100%, but I don't believe he was the youngest.

Considering the knowledge at the time though Sun was in the wrong for being a shit brother, how he acted made logical sense.

Nexus when he was new Moon I believe he wasn't as good as people made him out to be.
