aaahh yay for a new charger!! Hmmm ok if it tickles your fancy, can I request a Finnick x reader fic post-rebellion where she’s feeling perhaps a touch soft, maybe not even realizing it (like just a heavy/triggering day where she’s feeling anxious) and Finnick knows, doesn’t comment on it, just hovers/takes over stuff for her to lessen her load? (Sorry if it doesn’t make sense - I got excited & wanted to send something in hahaha)
farmers market.
pairing: finnick o'dair x shy!wifey
content warnings: reader is having a rough go of it, use of petnames, pre-established relationship, set post-rebellion, finnick is so soft and sweet it's giving me a tooth ache (/pos), teasing, banter, fluff with a sprinkle of angst, not edited.
word count: 2k
author's note: elle, i hope you don't mind me writing this one for finnick x shy!wifey! i hadn't intended to originally but i started writing and i was like this is so them coded for me not to, you know? so, without further ado... here's my first finnick x shy!wifey oneshot. requests for them are open!! please do note that this can be read as a finn x reader insert too if you prefer that!! also this is my first time writing in a hot minute so please be kind. reblogs and comments are appreciated <3
Bad days tend to creep up on you like the calm before the storm, and without really knowing why, you welcome those days back like an old friend.
Its strange, when you think about it; you would think that the promise of a life without a constant war would feel reassuring but in reality, all it does is instil you with greater fear, and that is saying something.
In no way shape or form are you saying that you would have preferred to live under Snow's rule-- even less under Coin. You're simply saying that it feels terrifying to have this glorious taste of freedom, when in the back of your mind, there's a voice that reminds you it could all be taken away from you in a matter of seconds.
Finnick can tell something is weighing heavily on your mind when you toss and turn in bed all night. He combs his fingers through your hair, and presses soft kisses to your forehead, but no amount of comfort is able to soothe those reeling thoughts.
Eventually, you manage to doze off with Finnick's arms wrapped tight around you. Still, your sleep is broken and even then, you cant escape your anxiety.
Finnick watches over you as you rest. When a crease forms between your brows, an indicator that your dreams are not being kind to your weary soul, he uses his thumb to smooth it out. When a pitiful whine slips past your parted lips, he holds you closer and mutters words of reassurance into your hairline.
It's nearing noon when you finally start to stir. Finnick's arm had gone dead long before now, but he figures the pins and needles that shoot through his arm are well worth it if he has you in his arms like this. He watches as your eyes lazily flutter open and you absentmindedly sink deeper into his embrace. "Hi," He whispers into the silence. You wipe your eyes and mumble something incoherent. He smiles. "Welcome back to the land of the living."
You hum sleepily as you nuzzle your cheek against his bare chest. He is warm and soft and he smells like home. You can't help noticing the absent scent of saltwater and a frown tugs at the corner of your lips. "You didn't go swimming?"
Finnick wraps his ankle with yours under the duvet. "Didn't want to."
Your frown deepens and even in your half-asleep state you know he's lying, so naturally, you call him out on it. "I call bullshit." You try to sit up straighter but he eases you back down onto his chest with a quiet hum. "Why didn't you go? You always go swimming in the morning."
He kisses your forehead. "Maybe I just wanted to stay here with you." His fingers trace a path up your back. He normally does go swimming every morning; it's somewhat of a ritual for him. But he doesn't want to leave you when he knows you're having a rough go of it, especially when you're almost as stubborn as him and won't ask for his help. "Is that okay with you?" He teases.
You fight the urge to roll your eyes, but his hands are gentle and soft on your body, and it eases some of the pent up tension in your frame. "Hmph. I suppose so." It's meant to be a joke, but your voice falls flat.
He doesn't seem to mind. He knows you're bound to be snippy or sad or on edge or all of the above. Hes had his own fair share of triggering days since the war ended and he's been the exact same. He just gives a quiet hum so you know he isn't ignoring you, and then he allows the silence to settle.
There's still a pit of unease in your stomach, but it's lessened slightly by his presence. "What time is it?" You ask after a while.
Finnick cranes his neck to one side to check the alarm clock on the bedside locker. "One."
You swear you give yourself whiplash as you shoot up and he grunts softly at the loss of contact. "In the afternoon?"
"No, in the morning. See the stars outside?" Finnick deadpans, trying to lighten the mood. You shoot him a withering look, and he grins and sits up now, too. "Its alright, angel. We're allowed to have a lie in every now and then." He soothes, pressing a soft kiss to your bare shoulder blade.
"We've got to go grocery shopping today," You argue, but it's a weak protest, even to your own ears.
"And we've got plenty of time," He responds patiently, smoothing his hand up and down your back once more. "It's a Sunday. The market doesn't close until seven. Just relax, my love. It's all okay." He knows you need to keep yourself busy on days like this; it's a way to remind yourself that you're controlling something.
He shifts onto his knees, the bedframe creaking underneath him, and wraps his arms around your midsection. "It's all okay." He promises. A kiss to your shoulder again. "We can get changed and leave right now if you want to, alright?"
You melt into his touch before giving a stiff nod. Maybe if you're out of the house, it'll ease your worries a bit, or at the very least distract you. Your eyes flutter shut as he presses a kiss to your neck this time around. "Okay."
"Yeah? That sound like a plan?"
You nod, more relaxed this time. "Yeah."
Finnick gets changed in a matter of minutes, and is ever so patient as he waits for you. He watches you flit between your wardrobe three or four times, choosing an outfit and changing your mind once you go to put it on,
"I'm sorry," You say quietly on your fifth time around. Your deft fingers anxiously toy with the hem of your sleep shirt as you sift through the contents of your wardrobe.
He's perched on the edge of the bed, and he offers you a gentle smile as he sees your fingers move to your mouth. You gnaw on a hangnail, and he pushes down the urge to lovingly scold you. "It's okay. Take all the time you need, angel. I'm in no rush."
Once you're finally dressed and out of the door, Finnick can't help but notice the way your eyes dart around nervously. He knows that you're no doubt feeling more wary, and he wants nothing more than to help soothe your heightened emotions. "So, angel, I was thinking." He slips his hand into yours as you move. He doesn't seem to mind how damp your palm is.
"Hm?" Your head whips around to see him. "Sorry?"
"I was thinking." He repeats patiently, matching your pace. He knows that you need a distraction right now and he Is more than eager to be of assistance. "There's this lovely cove off the coast. Malcom-- you'd know him, he's the coast guard-- was telling me about it. It's about an hour or two from here by boat. It's meant to be gorgeous out there. I was thinking we could go snorkelling there one day, if you'd like."
"I've never been snorkelling," You remind him softly.
He squeezes your hand. "I know. I could teach you." He offers. "We'd be able to make it a day trip. We could bring a picnic for the boat and we could sail for a while before getting to the cove." He presses a kiss to your cheek. "What do you think?"
The weight in your chest is shifting now that you're not tangled up in your thoughts. You can breathe a bit easier. "Yeah." You nod. "It could be fun. When were you thinking?"
Finnick hums in thought. "Maybe the day after tomorrow? If you're up for it. We can always do it later, I'm easy." He shrugs.
You nod. "Sounds like a plan."
The market is practically empty when you two arrive. Finnick insists on carrying the wicker basket you brought with you, and he follows your lead as you drift between stalls.
On your way out of the market, he tugs you toward a jewellery stall. Without even giving you time to ask what he's doing, he holds up a necklace, testing it against your complexion, before turning to the seller. "I'll take this one please."
You arch an eyebrow and give his hand a tug. "What're you doing?"
"Buying you a necklace." He replies simply.
"Why?"
"Because I want to."
"You don't have to."
"I said I want to, not that I have to." He corrects you, pressing a kiss to your joined hands. He pays the vendor for the necklace and secures it in the basket before letting you lead him out of the gazebo.
It doesn't take long to get back home, even with your goods from the market weighing you down. Finnick flicks on the air-con once you are inside, and once he sees you moving to turn the stove on, he secures his arms around your waist and practically manhandles you all the way back to the sofa. "Nope. Not happening."
"What are you--"
"Youre gonna sit there and watch something or read or... I don't know, do whatever you want while I cook dinner." He grins as he lets go and you flop down on the sofa. You open your mouth to complain, but he simply kisses you quiet before pulling away and pecking your head. "I have it covered. Don't worry about it, okay? Just relax. It's fine. Relax."
You sigh, but admit defeat, anyway. "Alright. Just... don't burn the house down."
Finnick arches a brow. "Are you doubting my cooking abilities?"
"Yes."
"Says the one who nearly did burn the house down making toast on my birthday."
"That was one time! And I was doing something nice!"
Finnick laughs and pecks your forehead again before sauntering into the kitchen. He's glad you seem to be feeling a bit better. "I know. But it still happened." He calls over his shoulder.
It doesn't take long for you to follow him into the kitchen; you're a tad bit clingy when you're feeling anxious like this. He doesn't make any remarks on it; he simply taps the countertop beside him in invitation and goes back to stirring a pot of sauce.
You swing your legs back and forth before finally finding your voice. "Finn."
He glances up from the pot. "Yeah, baby?"
You sigh. You've never been very good at naming your feelings, even when you were a kid. It makes you feel stupid. "I'm anxious today." You finally blurt out.
Finnick turns down the heat on the stove to give you his undivided attention. He nods sympathetically. "I know. Do you wanna talk about it?"
You shake your head. "No. I'm just letting you know."
He nods. "That's okay. Is there anything I can do to help?"
"You've done more than enough," You rush to say.
"That's not what I asked." He retorts gently. "Is there anything you need?"
You gnaw on the inside of your cheek. Asking for what you needed or wanted was also another thing you weren't very good at, but Finnick doesn't make you feel silly for it, and it feels easier to tell him. "Can I have a hug?"
Finnick wastes no time in reaching for you. His arms fit around you as snugly as possible but it doesn't feel constricting. It just feels safe. He rests his chin atop your head and nuzzles his nose into your hair. "Love you."
"I love you," You reply, melting into him. You can't help the smile that tugs at the corner of your lips when you see the steam bubbling from the pot over his shoulder. "Hey, Finn?"
"Yeah, angel?" He pulls away just enough to smooth your hair out of your eyes.
"Guess I'm not the only one who's awful at cooking."
He frowns and looks over his shoulder when you laugh. "Shit!"

EuroGamer: 'BioWare knew the deepest secrets of Dragon Age lore 20 years ago, and locked it away in an uber-plot doc'
Original creator David Gaider on how "some of the big mysteries are being solved".
Rest of post under a cut due to length and possible spoilers.
"As I write about the secrets hidden in Dragon Age's mysterious Fade, and as I uncover some of them playing Dragon Age: The Veilguard, one question keeps rising up in my mind. How much did BioWare know about future events when first developing the series more than 20 years ago? That's a long time, and back then BioWare didn't know there would be a second game, which is why Dragon Age: Origins has an elaborate and far-reaching epilogue. Why lay so much lore-track ahead of yourself if you don't think you'll ever get there? But look more closely at Origins and there are big clues suggesting BioWare did know about future Dragon Age events. There are obvious signs in the original game, such as establishing recurring themes like Old Gods and the Blight and Archdemons. But there's also Flemeth, Morrigan's witchy mother, who's intimately linked to events in the series now - more specifically: intimately linked to Solas. Does her existence mean Solas was known about back then too? There's only one person I can think of to answer this and it's David Gaider, the original creator of Dragon Age's world and lore. We've talked before, once in a podcast and once for a piece on the magic of fantasy maps, where we discussed the creation of Dragon Age's world. And much to my surprise, when I ask him what he and the BioWare team knew back then, he says they knew it all. "By the time we released Dragon Age: Origins, we were basically sure that it was one and done, but there was, back when we made the world, an overarching plan," he says. "The way I created the world was to seed plots in various parts of the world that could be part of a game, a single game, and then there was the overall uber-plot, which I didn't know for certain that we would ever get to but I had an understanding of how it all worked together. "A lot of that was in my head until we were starting Inquisition and the writers got a little bit impatient with my memory or lack thereof, so they pinned me down and dragged the uber-plot out of me. I'd talked about it, I'd hinted at it, but never really spelled out how it all connected, so they dragged it out of me, we put it into a master lore doc, the secret lore, which we had to hide from most of the team.""
"This uber-plot document was only viewable on a need-to-know basis, he says, and only around 20 people on the team had access to it - other senior writers mostly. And even though Gaider left the Dragon Age team after Inquisition, and then eight years ago BioWare altogether, meaning he didn't work on The Veilguard at all, he believes - by looking at the events in the new game - his uber-plot lore "has more or less held up". That's impressive. What's even more impressive, or exciting, is that back then he also envisaged a potential end state for the entire Dragon Age series - a point at which it would make no sense for the series to carry on. "I always had this dream of where it would all end, the very last plot," he says, "which I won't say because who knows, we could still end up there. But the idea that this uber-plot was this sort of biggest, finite... That the final thing you could do in this world that would break it was there as a 'maybe we would get to do that one day'... There was just the idea of certain big, world-shaking things that were seeded in that arc, some of which have already come to pass, like the return of Fen'Harel." You've read that correctly: the idea to have Fen'Harel, also known as the Dread Wolf, reappear, was seeded all the way back then, way before Inquisition - the game in which he does actually reappear. But the concept for Solas, as a character who was Fen'Harel in disguise, was a newer idea. "That spawned from a conversation I had with Patrick [Weekes] and a number of other writers," Gaider says, "as an idea of 'what if you had a villain that spent an entire game where he's actually in the party and you get to know him?' Now, the god version and his larger role in the plot, yes that was known, but not that he would be presented as a character named Solas." Fen'Harel being known about means the other elven gods were known about, which means all of that stuff Solas reveals about his godly siblings - that they're not gods at all but evil elven mages he locked away behind the Veil - was known about back then too. "Oh yeah," Gaider says. "Everything that Solas tells you [at the end of Inquisition DLC, Trespasser]: it's all part of that original uber-lore - that was all in our mind." But why have so much lore if you're not certain you'll get to ever realise it? Well, to create a believable illusion. By creating an "excess" of lore, as Gaider describes it, Origins made Thedas feel like an old and believable place. A place with history, rather than a Western set that was all facade and no substance."
"BioWare also did something canny with the lore it did relay then, too: it shared it through the voices of characters living in the world, making it inherently fallible. In doing this, Dragon Age veiled its truths behind biases. The church-like organisation of the Chantry proclaims one truth, while the elves and dwarves proclaim another. Sidenote: you can experience this yourself through different racial origin stories in Dragon Age: Origins. This way, there's no one, objective, irrefutable, truth. "To get the truth, you kind of have to pick between the lines," Gaider says. So even though elven legends are coming true through the existence of Solas and The Veilguard's antagonist gods, it doesn't mean that's the one and only truth. There's truth in what the Chantry teaches and what the dwarves say, he tells me, which ignites my curiosity intensely. BioWare has also been tricksy in how it's rubbed out the lore the further back in time you go. "In general, the further the history goes back, we always would purposefully obfuscate it more and more," Gaider says - "make it more biased and more untrue no matter who was talking, just so that the absolute truth was rarely knowable. I like that idea from a world standpoint, that the player always has to wonder and bring their own beliefs to it." It leads into a founding principle of Dragon Age, which is doubt - because without it, you can't have faith, a particularly important concept in the series. It's where the whole idea of the Chantry's Maker comes from and with it, the legend about the fabled Golden City - now the Black City - at the heart of the Fade. This is the very centre of the lore web, and, I imagine, it's close to the series endpoint Gaider imagined long ago. All secrets end there. Did Gaider know what was in the Black City when he laid down Origins' lore? That's the question - and it startles me how casually he answers this. "Oh, yeah," he says. "What was in the Black City: that's the uber-plot. I knew exactly. "Was it as detailed in the first draft of the world?" he goes on. "No. I had an idea of the early history because that's where I started making the world. So the things that were true early-early: I knew exactly what the Black City was and the idea of what the elves believed, and what humans believed vis-a-vis the Chantry - that was all settled on really early. Then I expanded the world and the uber-plot bubbled out of that.""
"Gaider shows me the original cosmology design document for Dragon Age: Origins as if to prove this - or rather for the game that would become DAO. The world was known as Peldea back then. I can't share this with you because I see it via a shared screen on a video call, and because Gaider doesn't want me to, mostly because the ideas are so old they're almost unrecognisable from what's in the series now. But I can tell you it's a document that's just over a page in length, and that there's a circular diagram at the top showing the world in the middle and the spirit realm ringed around it. And on that document is reference to the Chantry's beliefs about a God located in a citadel that can be found there. Gaider says BioWare knew about Fen'Harel (the Dread Wolf) 20 years ago when it was developing Dragon Age: Origins, and that he'd one day reappear. The Fade wasn't known as the Fade back then, either, but as the Dreaming, because it's the place people go when they dream - an idea that lives on still. And if that sounds familiar to any fans of The Sandman among you, it should. "I'd say The Sandman series was probably fairly prominently in my head," says Gaider. "I liked that amorphous geography that was born from the psyche of collective humanity. I'd say yes, if I was to point at something specifically, that's probably where the very first inspiration of it took root." It's a lot to take in, but it reinforces the admiration I have for Dragon Age. Just as I have when hearing about the creation of my other favourite fantasy worlds, such as A Song of Ice and Fire, I begin to understand the magnitude - and the deliberateness - of the plotting that went on. I wonder if one day the Dragon Age series will end in the way Gaider first imagined, albeit slightly altered by the many other pairs of hands shepherding it along now. What a curious feeling it must be to know, so many years in advance, where things might go. Where that end is, I don't know, but I do know we'll take a significant step towards it in The Veilguard. After all, we're coming into contact with gods who were there at the recorded beginning of it all. "Yeah - we have access to people who can tell us the truth from first-hand experience," Gaider says, "although again, it depends on what the writers did with it. But if they continued the tradition of Dragon Age, you never know for sure if Solas is telling you everything, or what you're learning is the entire truth. "But yes, some of the big mysteries are being solved. I mean, will they one day definitively tell you about the Maker? Will we crack the big mysteries of the world and just make them answered finally? And does that ruin one of the central precepts that Dragon Age is founded upon? Maybe," he says. "Ultimately, that lore, when you make it big and you hint at it and hint at it and hint at it, it becomes a Chekhov's Gun of sorts. Eventually you got to pony up.""

Can you do a Lewis Hamilton smau where she is basically like Barbie? I feel like since Barbie is a fashion icon and so is Lewis, it would be a match made in Heaven. I read your pinned post and tried to make a request based on your rules. Sorry if it isn’t good enough
HI BARBIE! HI KEN! [part 1, LH44 smau]
Lewis Hamilton x reader
Masterlist & Hi Barbie! Hi Ken! [part2, LH44 smau]
Summary: Lewis Hamilton is part-time Formula One driver and full-time fashion icon. And so is his girlfriend, Y/N Y/L/N, who's also known as a real life Barbie.
Warnings: None... but a lot of pink XD. Also this story is set in December 2023, so no broken hearts over Lewis going to Ferrari... actually maybe just a little teaser.
Author's Note: Hi Anon! This request is great and thank you so much for it, it definitely is good enough! :) I had fun writing and creating this, even though at the end it's kind of different than what I firstly intended to do. The original idea was to make Y/N very Barbie coded, but at the end I'd say she's Barbie inspired and I focused more on the fashion icon part of the request. Though there's a sweet storyline about why her nickname is Barbie, so I hope you won't be disappointed! :)

Y/N’s interview
photo 1: Y/N: How did you and Lewis meet?
Y/F/N: Oh, you guys'll love the story!
photo 2: Y/N: It was actually in a toy store. Lew was there with his niece and I was there because... [laughs] Let's say I still like to collect dolls and lego, sue me.
photo 3: Y/N: Anyway, Lew's niece saw me, thought I'm a real life Barbie and wanted to say hi. [laughs] It was honestly so sweet that I didn't have the heart to tell her I'm just a normal girl.
photo 4: Y/F/N: So does she still think you're Barbie? [laughs]
Y/N: Yeah, I think so... She calls me Auntie Barbie! [laughs too]
photo 5: Y/N: But back to Lewis - I didn't recognize him and just thought he's really cute. We talked for few minutes, though then I had to leave and didn't have the courage to ask for his number.
photo 6: Y/N: But few days later he followed me on Instagram and I was just like - yes!
Lewis’ interview
Interviewer: Lewis, you recently followed a known influencer and model on Instagram. Is there something going on between the two of you?
Lewis: Are you talking about Barbie? Oh, shoot, sorry... [laughs] I mean Y/N?

13: Ready or Not...?
wc: 1000+
It was starting to weigh down on me. Hayden kept giving more clues when talking about his ‘cheating ex girlfriend,’ dropping previous brands I’d worked with, small details that were littered all throughout a quick scan of my social media. People knew. And they were livid.
“This is so fucking stupid,” I spit, tossing my phone on the couch as I rub my hands over my face. The afternoon sun peeking through the window of Matt’s living room is bothersome, a glare of brightness burning into my face as I readjust again.
Matt was still in the shower. Nick and Chris sat with me, their jaws dropping as they did some digging on their own phones. Posts, tweets, videos…I was sick of seeing my face attached to such bullshit.
He cheated too.
“Can you like…sue for deaf animation of some shit?” Chris says.
Before I can even think to correct his wording, Nick lets out a deep sigh, disappointed with his tone as he starts to speak, “-defamation, Chris. Not fuckin’ deaf animation.”
I want to crack a smile at the mishap, but I can’t find it in myself to do anything but stare at the post on my phone. A picture of us that had somehow been spread across the media, one that definitely confirmed we had some sort of relationship. And I knew people were nosy, but how the fuck did they find all this shit?
Today was supposed to be for relaxing. Matt told me nothing except that I needed to be at his house by noon, but I didn’t even have to do that. Not when I kept spending the night.
“Hey, you ready?”
My mouth waters as I look over, seeing Matt shuffling a hand through his damp hair. Part of me thought that once the ‘forbidden’ aspect of our relationship faltered that some of the spark would fade, but I only wanted him more.
Especially now that I could think freely. And recently, I’d love living in my daydreams, seeing his face, letting myself imagine what more would look like with him.
Nodding, I get up and shut off my phone without a second thought.
Those people’s opinions never brought me these types of feelings. No one typing their thumbs on a screen could ever make my stomach feel so fuzzy.
So, why should I even care?
___
Music plays through the car with a low volume. The scenery through the windows had passed for a while at this point, miles upon miles passing by in my peripherals.
I didn’t mind the long drive, it felt good to sit in such a soft silence. We didn’t need to talk. There was no pressure to fill the air with repetitive words, not when we could both just sink into the calmness of each other’s company.
“Where are you even taking me?” I ask.
Matt shrugs, looking over to me with a small, reassuring smile. An immediate warmth spreads from his touch as his hand lands on my thigh. That’s new.
“Well,” he says, his fingers gently grasping my thigh, “-I was gonna drive us up to that one viewpoint. I got all the stuff in the trunk, we can just… hangout. Just us.”
Just us. I really liked the sound of that. My hand floats over top of his, hesitating before I caress over his knuckles. “I like that idea,” I smile.
Matt gives my thigh another squeeze, quickly glancing over to me as he pulls off on the side of the road, “Good. We’re here.”
Before I even have the chance to react, Matt puts the car in park, clicking the release mechanism for my seatbelt. The strap slides off my body. I look over, seeing his eyes gazing into mine with uncertainty hidden behind the familiar pale blue.
“I was, uh,” he slowly pulls his own seatbelt off, his eyes never leaving mine, “-was gonna pop the trunk and…’’
His words falter to silence. I lean slightly over the console, pushing myself towards him and smirking as his eyes widen. “And?” I urge.
The comfortable air has shifted into something tense, but not in a bad way. In fact, it feels really good - really, really good.
Matt’s lips smack together. He swallows hard, clearing his throat as he shifts his gaze to his lap. “I…stop lookin’ at me like that,” he sighs beneath his breath, the tone of his voice making some sort of pride swell in my chest as I relax back into the seat.
“Hm, my bad,” I hum.
Matt clicks his tongue along the roof of his mouth. “Hold on a sec,” he mutters, climbing out of the car, popping open the trunk and starting to shuffle around. The slight movement and audible noises make my mind race. What is he doing? What’s he planning?
My heart nearly jumps out of my chest as he abruptly opens my door. He looks down at me with an apologetic smile, grasping my hand gently as he helps me out of the car. “Sorry, sorry. I’m just… I’m excited for you to see this.”
Curiosity looms over my shoulder as I follow his footsteps, his hand squeezing mine as we come to a halt just before the trunk of the car comes into view.
“Okay, I just - don’t judge me. I mean, I don’t think you will, actually, I kinda doubt you will since you’ve never really done that before and you… I guess you just… well,” he rambles, his face furrowing as he looks around aimlessly, “- not like any sort of bad thing but I,”
“Hey,” I cut off, bringing my free hand to ruffle his hair, petting down his arm for reassurance, “-you don’t worry so much, it’s just me. It’s just us,” I remind.
The statement seems to give him some comfort. Matt sighs, nodding as he tugs me even closer behind him. My stomach is swirling with anticipation, the glint of excitement in his eyes twinkling as he mutters one soft word;
“Ready?”
A/N: OH SHIT I KNOW SOMETHING YOU DON'T!!!! (ily im sorry matt sturniolo taught me everything i know about edging, blame him.) Anyhow - any interation is appretiated! LMK UR THOTS!!!

Preview: "Wonwoo’s fingers traced along the edge of your thigh, moving with a patience that made you ache even more. The heat within you pulsed stronger with every gentle touch, every whispered reassurance. ‘Wonwoo... please,’ you whimpered, burying your face in his chest as your tears soaked into his shirt. His voice was low, soothing, as he kissed the crown of your head. ‘I know, bunny. Let me take care of you.’ When his fingers slipped inside you, the relief was instant yet fleeting. The heat still burned, demanding more. And as his lips brushed against your own, you knew you were in safe hands, even as your instincts screamed for something primal. In the aftermath, with his shirt draped over you and his scent everywhere, you curled into his chest. Wonwoo's fingers lazily stroked your ears, his quiet promise lingering in the air. ‘I’ll keep you safe, always.’”
Wonwoo sat in the dim light of his apartment, the soft hum of his computer the only sound in the room. The clock on the wall ticked past 2 a.m., but sleep was the last thing on his mind. He leaned back in his chair, fingers tapping rhythmically against the keyboard as he navigated a hidden marketplace on the dark web.
The site's interface was crude, with grainy images and glitchy text. He wasn't here for anything specific—this was just something he did when he was bored. It wasn't about breaking laws or finding trouble. For Wonwoo, the dark web was a rabbit hole of bizarre curiosities: forums about conspiracy theories, marketplaces selling counterfeit antiques, and coded discussions he'd never understand. Tonight, however, something caught his eye.
A new listing had appeared at the top of the page:
"Hybrid Companion for Sale - Limited Edition, One of a Kind."
The thumbnail image showed a woman, or at least, what looked like one. She had delicate bunny ears that drooped slightly, pale white skin, and wide, doe-like eyes that seemed to stare right through the screen. Her hair was soft and silvery, cascading over her shoulders like freshly fallen snow.
Wonwoo furrowed his brows, unsure whether to laugh or close the tab. "What the hell?" he muttered under his breath, leaning closer. It had to be a hoax, right? Some twisted art project or a desperate scam. But the listing's details were oddly... thorough:
"Bunny Hybrid #1438 Condition: New, untested. Perfect for companionship. Compliant and affectionate. Warning: For indoor use only. Price: 0.15 BTC (approx. ₩5,850,300 KRW - 4,000 USD) Delivery: Discreet, within 48 hours."
Wonwoo's skepticism grew. Untested? Indoor use? The phrasing felt clinical, like she was some kind of product. A chill ran down his spine, but curiosity gnawed at him. He clicked the listing.
The description expanded, revealing more photos. They showed her sitting on a minimalist chair in an empty white room, her ears twitching slightly. She wore a simple white dress, her hands folded neatly in her lap. The closer he looked, the harder it was to dismiss her as a mannequin or a clever CGI creation. She looked alive.
Wonwoo's hand hovered over the keyboard. This was insane. Why was he even considering this? But something about her expression in the photos stopped him. She didn't look scared or sad—just... empty, like she didn't know she was being sold.
"It's fake," he told himself. "It's probably fake."
But the listing had a countdown timer. "Auction closes in 10 minutes."
Before he knew it, Wonwoo had opened his crypto wallet. His fingers moved on autopilot, transferring the required amount to the provided address. The process felt surreal, like he was watching someone else make the decision for him. When the transaction confirmed, he stared at the screen, half expecting the site to crash or for the listing to disappear.
Instead, a message popped up: "Purchase Confirmed. Delivery instructions will follow shortly."
His stomach twisted. What had he just done?
Minutes later, an encrypted email arrived with a single line of text:
"Pick-up location: [Redacted]. Arrive at 11 p.m. tomorrow. Alone."
Wonwoo closed the laptop and pressed his palms against his face. This was either the biggest mistake of his life or the start of something he couldn't quite name.
The next night, Wonwoo pulled his hoodie tighter around himself as he approached the location—an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town. The air was damp, and the faint sound of dripping water echoed in the distance. His heart raced, every instinct screaming at him to turn back.
Inside, the space was dimly lit, with a single crate in the center of the room. No guards, no people. Just the crate.
He approached cautiously, his footsteps echoing against the concrete floor. The crate was wooden, with slats that allowed him to see inside. He crouched down, peering through the gaps.
You were there, curled up and motionless. Your bunny ears twitched slightly, the only sign you were alive. Up close, you looked even more delicate. Your pale skin seemed to glow faintly under the dim light, and your breathing was soft and steady. You wore the same white dress from the photos, now slightly crumpled.
Wonwoo swallowed hard, unsure of what to do. He tapped lightly on the crate.
Your eyes fluttered open, and you sat up slowly, your gaze locking onto his. For a moment, neither of you moved. Then, you tilted your head, your bunny ears perking up slightly as if studying him.
"Hey," he said awkwardly. "I'm... Wonwoo."
You didn't respond, your expression unreadable. Slowly, you reached out, pressing your hand against the slats of the crate. Your fingers were slender, your nails neatly trimmed. Wonwoo hesitated before pressing his own hand against yours, the wood separating you.
"I'm here to take you home," he said, his voice soft.
You blinked, your ears twitching again. And for the first time, your lips parted.
"Home?" you repeated, your voice barely above a whisper.
Wonwoo sat on the couch, glancing at you from the corner of his eye. You sat on the floor near the coffee table, your posture tense and ears twitching as you took in your new surroundings. You hadn't said much since leaving the warehouse, only responding with short nods or quiet murmurs when he asked if you were okay.
The silence was suffocating. Wonwoo cleared his throat. "Uh, are you hungry? Thirsty?"
You blinked, tilting your head slightly. "Thirsty... what's that?"
His eyebrows shot up. "Thirsty. Like... do you want water?" He stood and walked to the kitchen, grabbing a glass and filling it from the tap. "Here."
You hesitated before taking the glass from his hands. Your fingers brushed his, and he noticed how cool your skin felt. Bringing the glass to your lips, you took a tentative sip, your nose wrinkling slightly at the taste.
"It's... plain," you muttered, setting the glass down.
Wonwoo chuckled softly. "Yeah, it's just water. I guess you're not used to it."
You shrugged, your ears flicking forward. "I don't remember what I'm used to."
That caught him off guard. He crouched down to meet your gaze, his tone careful. "You don't remember anything? Not even where you came from?"
You shook your head, looking away. "Just... flashes. Bright lights. Voices. Nothing else."
Wonwoo frowned, a pang of guilt settling in his chest. Whatever you'd been through, it wasn't normal. He couldn't shake the feeling that you'd been treated more like an object than a person.
"Hey," he said gently, "you don't have to figure everything out right now. Just... take it one step at a time, okay?"
You looked back at him, your wide eyes softening slightly. "Why are you being nice to me?"
The question hung in the air for a moment. Wonwoo rubbed the back of his neck, unsure how to answer. "I don't know," he admitted. "I guess I felt like I couldn't just leave you there."
Your lips curled into the faintest smile, and for the first time, your shoulders relaxed.
Later that night, as Wonwoo set up a makeshift bed for you on the couch, he couldn't shake the feeling that someone—or something—was watching him. He double-checked the locks on the windows and doors, his paranoia rising. It didn't make sense; no one had followed him, and the pickup had been clean.
"Wonwoo?" Your voice broke his train of thought.
He turned to see you standing by the couch, your bunny ears drooping slightly. "Yeah?"
"Are you... afraid of me?"
The question hit him like a truck. "What? No! Why would you think that?"
You hesitated, your fingers fidgeting with the hem of your dress. "Because... they were. The people before you."
Wonwoo's stomach twisted. He approached you slowly, hands raised as if to reassure you. "I'm not afraid of you," he said firmly. "Whatever happened before, it's over. You're safe here."
You studied him for a long moment before nodding. "Okay."
But as you lay down on the couch and he retreated to his room, he couldn't shake the unease creeping over him. Something wasn't right.
The apartment was quiet, save for the soft hum of the refrigerator. Wonwoo lay in his bed, staring at the ceiling, but sleep refused to come. His thoughts kept circling back to you—your hesitance, your fragility, and the way your ears twitched slightly every time he spoke.
A soft creak pulled him from his thoughts.
He turned his head toward the door, catching sight of your silhouette in the faint glow of the hallway light.
"Can't sleep?" he asked, his voice low.
You hesitated before stepping further into the room. "I don't think I've ever slept on a couch before."
Wonwoo sat up, rubbing his face. "Oh. Sorry about that. I should've—"
"It's not bad," you interrupted, your voice soft. "It's just... quiet."
The words made his chest tighten. "Do you want to sit?" He patted the edge of the bed.
You hesitated, your eyes darting to the floor before you shuffled closer, perching on the edge of the mattress. The tension in your shoulders was unmistakable.
"Do you want to talk about it?" he asked gently.
You glanced at him, your ears twitching slightly. "Talk about what?"
"Whatever's on your mind."
A soft, humorless laugh escaped your lips. "You really want to hear it?"
He nodded, leaning forward with his elbows resting on his knees. "Yeah. I do."
You sighed, your gaze fixed on your hands. "I don't know who I am. I don't know why I was there or what they wanted from me. All I know is... every time I think about going back, it feels like my chest is caving in."
Wonwoo's hands clenched into fists. He hated the thought of you being scared, of someone putting you in a position where fear was all you knew.
"You're not going back," he said firmly.
Your head snapped up, your wide eyes meeting his. "How can you be so sure?"
"Because I won't let it happen," he said, his voice steady. "I don't know how or why I ended up finding you, but I'm not going to let anything happen to you now that you're here."
The weight of his words hung in the air. Your ears lowered slightly, and for the first time, he saw a glimmer of relief in your expression.
"Thank you," you whispered.
Without thinking, Wonwoo reached out, his hand brushing against yours. Your fingers twitched but didn't pull away. It was a small gesture, but it felt monumental.
"You're not alone anymore," he murmured.
For the first time, the tight knot in your chest loosened.
The next morning, Wonwoo woke up to the smell of burnt toast. Groaning, he stumbled out of bed, rubbing his eyes as he made his way to the kitchen.
There you were, standing by the toaster with a frown, a slightly charred piece of bread in your hand.
"Uh, what's going on?" he asked, stifling a laugh.
You turned, your cheeks flushing pink. "I thought I'd try to... cook. But it's harder than I thought."
He walked over, taking the toast from your hand. "You're supposed to set the timer, not just guess."
You crossed your arms, your nose scrunching in frustration. "Well, no one told me that."
Wonwoo couldn't hold back his laughter this time. The sound startled you, and before you knew it, you found yourself laughing too. It was small and hesitant at first, but then it grew, bubbling up from somewhere deep inside you.
It was the first time he saw you smile.
And damn, it made his heart stutter.
After breakfast—well, what could be salvaged from your experimental cooking—Wonwoo sat across from you at the small dining table. He had insisted on making the second round of toast himself, and now the two of you sat in companionable silence, nibbling on toast and sipping coffee (or, in your case, a very sugary cup that he'd adjusted after seeing you gag at the first sip).
"So," Wonwoo said after a moment, breaking the silence. "Do you have a name?"
You froze mid-bite, your ears perking up. "A name?"
He nodded, his eyes soft. "Yeah. What do people call you? Or... did they call you anything?"
You frowned, the question pulling at a thread of memory that seemed just out of reach. "I... think it's Y/N," you said slowly, the name feeling both familiar and strange on your tongue.
"Y/N," Wonwoo repeated, testing it out. He smiled slightly. "It suits you."
A blush crept up your neck, and you quickly looked down at your plate. "It's just a name."
"It's your name," he corrected gently. "That makes it special."
You glanced at him, your chest tightening at the sincerity in his gaze. No one had ever spoken to you like this—like you were a person, not a thing.
"But," he added, leaning back in his chair with a playful smirk, "I think I'll call you Bun instead."
"Bun?" You blinked, your nose wrinkling slightly.
"Yeah," he said, his smirk widening. "You've got bunny ears, and it's cute. Just like you."
Your ears twitched furiously at the compliment, and you couldn't stop the blush from spreading across your cheeks. "You can't just—say things like that."
"Why not?" he teased, his voice light. "It's true."
You glared at him, though the effect was ruined by the way your lips twitched upward. "Fine. Then I'm calling you Woo. See how you like it."
He chuckled, the sound warm and rich. "Woo, huh? I think I can live with that."
For the first time in what felt like forever, you felt a genuine warmth blooming in your chest—a feeling you didn't quite know how to name.
That evening, the two of you ended up on the couch, a random movie playing in the background as Wonwoo showed you how to navigate the TV remote. You had leaned closer to him, your curiosity outweighing your usual cautiousness.
"And this button changes the volume," he explained, his voice low.
You nodded, your face scrunched in concentration as you tried it out. The sound of the TV grew louder, and you quickly pressed the button again to lower it, a triumphant smile lighting up your face.
"See? Easy," he said, his lips quirking up as he watched you.
You turned to him, your smile fading slightly as you realized how close you were. His face was only inches from yours, his dark eyes steady and unreadable.
"Woo?" you whispered, your voice barely audible.
"Yeah?"
"Why are you so nice to me?"
He tilted his head, his gaze softening. "I already told you. You deserve to feel safe."
"But why do you care so much?" you pressed, your eyes searching his face for answers.
He hesitated, his throat bobbing as he swallowed. "I don't know," he admitted finally. "Maybe because you remind me that... not everything in this world is as cold as it seems. You're... different, Bun. And I want to protect that."
Your breath caught in your throat. No one had ever spoken to you like that—like you were something worth protecting, worth caring for.
Without thinking, you reached out, your fingers brushing against his. It was a small gesture, but it felt like the world had shifted.
"Thank you," you whispered, your voice trembling.
Wonwoo's hand turned, his fingers curling gently around yours. "You don't have to thank me," he said softly. "Just... stay. That's enough."
Your heart ached at the raw honesty in his words. And for the first time, you allowed yourself to believe that maybe, just maybe, you had found a place where you truly belonged.
The night deepened, the warm glow of the living room casting soft shadows on the walls. Wonwoo had stepped into the kitchen to grab some water, leaving you curled up on the couch with a blanket draped over your shoulders.
You tugged the fabric closer, your thoughts swirling. For the first time in forever, you didn't feel like you had to be on guard. You didn't have to hide or brace yourself for what might come next.
But that didn't stop the memories from creeping in.
"Bun?" Wonwoo's voice broke through the fog. He was standing in front of you now, holding out a glass of water. "You okay?"
You blinked, quickly nodding. "Y-Yeah."
He didn't look convinced. "You sure? You've been quiet for a while."
You hesitated, your fingers clutching the edge of the blanket. "I was just... thinking."
"About what?" he asked, sitting down beside you.
You swallowed hard, debating whether to tell him. But something in his gaze—steady, patient, understanding—made you feel like you could.
"It's about... me," you said slowly, your voice barely above a whisper. "What I am."
Wonwoo stayed quiet, giving you space to continue.
"I'm not like you," you said, your ears flattening against your head. "I don't just... exist like a normal person. There are... things about me—about my body—that I can't control."
He tilted his head slightly. "Like what?"
You took a deep breath, your cheeks burning with shame. "Like when I go into heat."
Wonwoo's eyes widened slightly, but he didn't say anything, waiting for you to explain.
"It happens every few months," you continued, your voice trembling. "It's... painful. And if it's not treated, it gets worse. But..." You paused, your chest tightening.
"But?" he prompted gently.
Your voice broke as you said the next words. "But the people who used to 'treat' me... they didn't care about the pain. They only cared about using me for themselves."
The silence that followed was deafening. You couldn't bring yourself to look at him, too afraid of what you might see in his eyes—disgust, pity, or worse.
But when Wonwoo finally spoke, his voice was calm and steady. "That's not going to happen again."
You blinked, glancing up at him. "What?"
He shifted closer, his expression firm. "No one's ever going to hurt you like that again. I promise."
Tears pricked at your eyes, and you quickly looked away. "You say that, but... what if it happens? What if I can't control it, and you—"
"Stop," he said, his tone gentle but firm. He reached out, his hand resting lightly on yours. "I'm not like them. I'd never take advantage of you."
The sincerity in his voice made your chest ache. For the first time, you felt like someone saw you—not as an object or a tool, but as a person.
"Do you... do you really mean that?" you whispered.
He nodded. "Every word. And if you ever feel like it's too much, we'll figure it out together. On your terms."
You couldn't stop the tears from falling now, the weight of his words breaking down the walls you had built around your heart.
Wonwoo reached out, his thumb gently brushing away a tear. "Hey. It's okay. You're safe here, Bun."
For the first time, you believed him.
Wonwoo watched as you nodded off on the couch, your breathing evening out, though your grip on the blanket was still tight. Even in your sleep, it seemed like you were holding onto years of fear and mistrust.
He sighed softly, standing to grab the glass you'd left on the coffee table. The sound of his footsteps was faint, careful not to wake you as he moved to the kitchen.
It wasn't like him to get involved in something so... complicated. He usually preferred simplicity—quiet evenings alone, a book in hand, the hum of his PC in the background. He didn't go out of his way for people, not because he didn't care, but because people rarely gave him a reason to.
But you? You were different.
He leaned against the counter, arms crossed as he stared at the glass. There was something about you that tugged at his attention, something beyond the strangeness of finding you on a marketplace. You were guarded but vulnerable, sharp but soft. It made him want to protect you, even if he wasn't sure why.
When he returned to the living room, you were awake, your wide eyes watching him from beneath the blanket.
"Did I wake you?" he asked, his voice low.
You shook your head, your ears twitching slightly. "No. I just... I couldn't sleep."
He sat down on the armchair across from you, his movements slow and deliberate. "Something on your mind?"
You hesitated, your fingers curling around the edge of the blanket. "It's just... strange," you admitted. "Being here. With you."
He tilted his head slightly, waiting for you to elaborate.
"I'm not used to this," you said quietly. "Not used to... feeling safe."
Wonwoo's gaze softened, though his expression remained neutral. "You don't have to get used to it all at once," he said after a moment. "Take your time."
Your lips parted slightly, surprised by his words. Most people didn't give you time—they expected things from you, demanded things you weren't ready to give. But Wonwoo? He was different.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
He shrugged, leaning back in the chair. "I don't know. Maybe I just like rabbits."
A small, breathless laugh escaped you, and his lips quirked into a faint smile.
"I mean it," you said, your tone soft but insistent. "You don't even know me."
"You don't know me either," he pointed out. "Maybe I'm just trying to get on your good side so you don't eat all my snacks."
You laughed again, the sound lighter this time. "I don't think that's how this works."
He shrugged, his eyes glinting with quiet amusement. "Maybe not. But if it makes you laugh, I'll take it."
For a moment, the room was quiet again, but it wasn't the heavy, suffocating silence you were used to. It was... comfortable.
"Wonwoo?" you said softly.
"Yeah?"
"Thank you," you said, your voice barely audible.
He didn't respond right away, his gaze steady as he looked at you. Then, with a small nod, he said, "You don't have to thank me, Bun. Just get some rest."
You smiled faintly, your heart feeling a little lighter as you settled back into the couch.
And for the first time, you felt like maybe, just maybe, things could be different.
The morning sun filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the living room. You stirred awake, stretching slightly under the blanket. Wonwoo was already up, sitting at the dining table with his laptop open, headphones on, and a cup of coffee in hand.
His attention was glued to the screen, his expression calm but focused. You watched him for a moment, feeling a strange sense of peace.
"You're up early," you said, your voice soft.
He glanced over at you, pulling one side of his headphones off. "Couldn't sleep much," he replied. "Thought I'd get some work done. How about you? Did you sleep okay?"
You nodded, sitting up and clutching the blanket around you. "Better than I expected. Thanks for... everything."
He gave you a small nod before returning his attention to the screen.
As you rubbed the sleep from your eyes, you realized something: you hadn't had a proper bath in... well, you couldn't remember how long. Your ears twitched slightly at the thought, and you stood, glancing toward the hallway.
"Wonwoo?" you called hesitantly.
"Hmm?" he replied, not looking up.
"Where's the bathroom?"
He pointed down the hall without breaking his focus, but when you hesitated, he finally looked at you. "Everything okay?"
"I..." You fidgeted with the hem of the blanket, avoiding his gaze. "I don't really... know how to do it myself."
That caught his attention. He blinked at you, his eyebrows slightly furrowed. "You don't know how to... take a bath?"
You shook your head, your cheeks warming. "I always had someone help me before," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper.
He stared at you for a moment, processing your words. Then he sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Alright. Come on."
"What?" You looked at him, wide-eyed.
"You said you need help, right?" He stood, closing his laptop. "Let's figure it out."
Your ears twitched nervously as you followed him down the hall, clutching the blanket tightly around you.
When he opened the bathroom door, you peeked inside. It was clean and simple, with a glass shower and a bathtub on one side. Wonwoo turned to you, his expression unreadable.
"Alright," he said, crossing his arms. "What do you need me to do?"
You hesitated, your cheeks flushing. "I don't know... maybe just show me how it works?"
He nodded, stepping into the bathroom. He turned on the faucet, adjusting the temperature and letting the water fill the tub. "It's pretty straightforward," he said. "You just..."
He trailed off when he noticed you still standing by the door, fidgeting nervously. "What's wrong?" he asked.
"It's just... a little overwhelming," you admitted. "I'm not used to doing things on my own."
He sighed again, softer this time. "Okay. Look, I'll help you get started, but you're going to have to trust me, alright?"
You nodded, biting your lip.
He grabbed a fluffy towel from the rack and handed it to you. "Here. Wrap this around yourself and let me know when you're ready."
You stepped inside, closing the door halfway before wrapping the towel around you. "Okay," you called out nervously.
Wonwoo stepped back in, careful to keep his eyes on the faucet. "Alright," he said, his voice calm. "You can sit on the edge of the tub for now. I'll show you how to use the showerhead and the soap."
You followed his instructions, perching on the edge as he adjusted the water. He handed you a bottle of soap, explaining how to lather it and rinse it off. His voice was steady, patient, and somehow soothing.
When you fumbled with the soap, he caught your hand gently, guiding you. "Like this," he said, his fingers warm against yours.
You glanced up at him, your heart skipping a beat. For someone so quiet and reserved, he had a way of making you feel... safe.
"Got it?" he asked, his eyes meeting yours.
You nodded, your cheeks flushing. "Yeah... thanks, Wonwoo."
He gave you a small smile, standing up. "I'll give you some privacy now. If you need anything, just call me."
As he left the bathroom, closing the door behind him, you couldn't help but feel a strange warmth in your chest. Maybe, just maybe, this new chapter in your life wouldn't be so bad after all.
It started out small.
You didn't even notice it at first—just a faint, restless warmth in the pit of your stomach. It was subtle, ignorable even, as you moved through the rest of the day. Wonwoo had gone back to working on his laptop while you explored the apartment, your curiosity keeping you distracted for a while.
But as the hours dragged on, the warmth grew. It wasn't just in your stomach anymore; it spread through your chest, your arms, and your legs, like an itch just beneath your skin that you couldn't quite reach.
By evening, you found yourself sitting on the couch, knees pulled up to your chest, biting your lip as you tried to focus on the TV. But it was impossible. The sensation was overwhelming now, and your ears twitched uncontrollably as you fought to keep your breathing steady.
"Hey," Wonwoo's voice pulled you out of your thoughts. He stood in the doorway, his brow furrowed as he looked at you. "You okay?"
You didn't trust yourself to look at him. Your cheeks burned as you nodded quickly. "I'm fine," you mumbled, your voice tight.
He didn't look convinced. Wonwoo stepped closer, his hands shoved into the pockets of his sweatpants. "You don't look fine," he said. "What's wrong?"
You shook your head, curling up tighter. "It's nothing," you insisted. "I just... need a minute."
But he didn't leave. Instead, he crouched down in front of you, his dark eyes scanning your face. "You're warm," he said, his voice soft but concerned. "Do you have a fever?"
You flinched as he reached out, his hand brushing against your forehead. The touch sent a jolt of electricity through you, and you jerked back, your ears flattening against your head.
"It's not a fever," you said quickly, your voice trembling.
Wonwoo tilted his head, his gaze narrowing. "Then what is it?"
You hesitated, your cheeks burning as you tried to find the words. "I... I think it's my heat," you finally admitted, your voice barely above a whisper.
He blinked, clearly caught off guard. "Your heat?"
You nodded, burying your face in your hands. "It's normal for hybrids," you explained, your voice muffled. "It happens every few months. But I didn't think it would happen so soon..."
Wonwoo was silent for a moment, and you dared to peek at him through your fingers. He looked... surprisingly calm.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" he asked, his voice steady.
Your heart skipped a beat at the question. You hadn't expected him to take it so seriously. "I don't know," you admitted. "It's usually... manageable. But it's worse when I'm alone."
He nodded, standing up and holding a hand out to you. "Come on," he said.
You stared at his hand, confused. "What?"
"You said it's worse when you're alone," he said simply. "So don't be alone."
Your cheeks burned as you hesitated, but eventually, you reached out and let him pull you to your feet. He led you to the couch and sat down, patting the spot next to him.
You sat down tentatively, your heart racing as the warmth in your chest seemed to grow even stronger. Wonwoo didn't say anything, but he placed a comforting hand on your shoulder, his touch grounding.
"Better?" he asked after a moment.
You nodded, leaning into him slightly. "Yeah... a little."
As the evening went on, you found yourself growing more comfortable in his presence. The warmth was still there, but it was less overwhelming now, tempered by the steady rhythm of his breathing and the gentle weight of his hand.
For the first time since the heat had started, you felt like you could breathe again.
Your whole body was burning. It wasn't just the heat in your stomach anymore—it was a desperate ache that throbbed with every passing second, pooling low in your core. You squirmed against the couch, trying to find some relief, but it only made it worse.
Wonwoo's hand was on your head, his fingers lazily stroking through the fur at the base of your ears. The slow, comforting rhythm sent shivers down your spine, but instead of soothing you, it only stoked the fire inside you.
You swallowed hard, trying to ignore it, trying to focus on anything else. But the longer you sat there, the harder it became. Your thighs pressed together involuntarily, your body instinctively searching for some kind of release.
Wonwoo noticed.
"You're fidgeting," he said quietly, his deep voice cutting through the haze in your mind. "Are you okay?"
You froze, your ears twitching at the sound of his voice. "I-I'm fine," you stammered, even though you weren't.
He didn't buy it. His hand moved from your ears to your shoulder, gently turning you to face him. His dark eyes searched yours, and the concern in his gaze made your heart ache.
"You're not fine," he said softly. "Talk to me. What's going on?"
You bit your lip, looking away. How could you possibly tell him? How could you explain this unbearable, shameful need that was consuming you?
"It's... it's my heat," you finally admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. "It's bad this time."
His eyes widened slightly, but he didn't pull away. If anything, his grip on your shoulder tightened, grounding you. "How bad?" he asked.
Your cheeks burned as you avoided his gaze. "It hurts," you murmured. "My body... it's aching. I feel like I'm going to explode."
Wonwoo was silent for a long moment, his hand still resting on your shoulder. When he finally spoke, his voice was calm and steady, but there was an edge of something else—something you couldn't quite place.
"Have you ever... had anyone help you before?" he asked carefully.
You nodded, your throat tightening at the memory. "Other hybrids would help sometimes," you said. "But it was never... gentle. They only cared about... breeding."
His jaw tightened, his expression darkening slightly. "And the men?" he asked, his voice dangerously low.
You hesitated, your ears flattening against your head. "They didn't care about me either," you admitted. "They just used me for their own pleasure."
The silence that followed was heavy, filled with unspoken anger and something else—something softer, more tender.
"You deserve better," Wonwoo said finally, his voice firm. "You deserve to be cared for."
Your heart skipped a beat at his words. "Wonwoo..."
His hand moved to your cheek, his thumb brushing against your skin. "If you'll let me," he said softly, "I want to take care of you."
Your breath caught in your throat. The heat in your body flared at his touch, but it wasn't just physical anymore. There was something deeper, something that made your chest ache just as much as your body did.
"Are you sure?" you whispered, your voice trembling.
He nodded, his dark eyes holding yours. "I want to help you," he said. "But only if you want me to."
You hesitated for only a moment before nodding, your cheeks burning. "Okay," you murmured.
Wonwoo's lips curved into a small, reassuring smile. "Good," he said. "Just tell me if it's too much, okay?"
You nodded again, your heart racing as he leaned in closer, his warm breath brushing against your skin.
Wonwoo's hand stayed on your cheek, his touch impossibly gentle. His thumb grazed along your skin, grounding you even as your body trembled. The ache inside you was unbearable, but somehow, his presence made it a little easier to endure.
"I'll go slow," he murmured, his voice low and soothing, as if he could sense your nerves. "Just trust me."
You nodded, swallowing hard as his other hand came to rest on your waist, pulling you closer. Your knees pressed into the couch on either side of him, and you felt his warmth radiating against you. It was overwhelming, but it wasn't bad. It was... comforting.
His fingers slid to your ears, brushing over them in a way that sent a shiver down your spine. You couldn't help the small, breathy sound that escaped your lips, and his eyes darkened slightly at the sound.
"Does that feel good?" he asked, his voice soft yet weighted.
You nodded, biting your lip as your hands instinctively gripped the fabric of his shirt. "Yeah," you whispered, your voice shaky.
His lips curved into the faintest smile. "You're sensitive," he murmured, his fingers continuing to trace along your ears. "I'll be careful."
The way he spoke to you, the way he looked at you—like you were something precious, something worth protecting—made your chest ache almost as much as your body burned.
"Wonwoo..." You didn't even know what you were asking for, but his name slipped from your lips like a plea.
"I know," he murmured. "I've got you."
His hands slid down your back, pulling you flush against him. Your forehead rested against his shoulder as his fingers traced small, soothing circles along your spine. It wasn't enough to stop the heat, but it was enough to make you feel safe.
Slowly, he tilted your chin up, his dark eyes searching yours. There was no rush, no impatience. Only warmth and care.
"Is this okay?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
You nodded, your breath hitching as his lips brushed against yours—tentative at first, testing the waters. But when you leaned into him, he deepened the kiss, his hand sliding to the back of your neck to hold you steady.
The heat in your body flared, but this time, it wasn't unbearable. It was electric, sparking to life with every touch, every movement.
His lips left yours to trail along your jaw, down the column of your neck, leaving a trail of warmth in their wake. You couldn't stop the small, breathy noises that escaped you, and you felt him smile against your skin.
"Still okay?" he asked, his voice rougher now, laced with something deeper.
"Yes," you whispered, your fingers curling into his hair. "Please... don't stop."
He didn't. His hands explored your body with a gentleness you'd never experienced before, his touch careful and measured. He was patient, never rushing, always watching your reactions to make sure you were comfortable.
Your body moved instinctively against his, searching for relief, and he guided you through it, his voice a soothing constant in your ear.
"You're doing so well," he murmured, his lips brushing against your temple. "I've got you. Just let go."
And for the first time, you did.
Wonwoo's gaze softened, his fingers gently retreating from your trembling body. He leaned closer, cupping your flushed face with his hand. "You're lying," he murmured, his deep voice steady yet filled with concern. "Your body's still burning up."
You avoided his eyes, embarrassed by how the heat in your core seemed to intensify again, worse than before. It wasn't something you could control, and you hated feeling this vulnerable in front of him.
"It's... just how it is," you whispered, your voice shaky. "I'll be fine. I don't want to bother you—"
"Stop that," he interrupted, his tone firm but still gentle. "You're not a bother, and I told you I'd take care of you."
His words made your chest tighten, a strange warmth blooming there, different from the feverish heat that raged through the rest of your body. You looked up at him, your ears twitching slightly as his thumb brushed over your cheek.
"But... I've never done this with anyone I trust," you admitted, your voice barely audible. "I don't know what to do."
Wonwoo's lips quirked into the faintest smile, his hand moving to gently stroke your ears again, as if to soothe you. "You don't have to do anything," he reassured you. "Just tell me what feels good, and I'll handle the rest. Okay?"
You hesitated for a moment before nodding, your fingers clutching onto his shirt like it was the only thing keeping you grounded.
He leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead before pulling back to meet your eyes. "Let's try to make this a little easier for you," he said, his hands moving to carefully lift you into his lap.
The shift in position sent a jolt of warmth through your body, and you instinctively buried your face in his shoulder, your arms wrapping around his neck. His hands settled on your waist, holding you securely as he whispered against your ear.
"Just relax," he said softly, his breath warm against your skin. "Let me take care of you."
His hands began to move again, trailing down your sides, his touch firm yet unhurried. The contrast of his cool fingers against your heated skin made you shiver, and a soft whimper escaped your lips as he dipped lower, tracing the curve of your thighs.
"Wonwoo..." His name left your lips in a breathy plea, and he responded with a low hum, his lips brushing against your temple.
"I'm here," he murmured, his voice steady and comforting. "I've got you."
As his hands worked their way back to your aching core, you felt your body tense in anticipation, your breath hitching when his fingers slid between your folds once again. He was slow, deliberate, as if he was determined to learn exactly what made you feel good.
You couldn't stop the soft moans that spilled from your lips as his movements grew more confident, his thumb circling your clit in a way that made your entire body tremble. He watched you carefully, his dark eyes filled with a mix of concern and fascination, as if he couldn't get enough of the way you responded to his touch.
"You're so beautiful like this," he said softly, his voice laced with something deeper, something that sent a shiver down your spine. "Don't hold back. Let me hear you."
His words broke through the last of your hesitation, and you let yourself fall into the sensation, your head tilting back as waves of pleasure rolled through you. But even as your body tensed and finally released, you could feel the heat building again, stronger than before.
You let out a shaky breath, your forehead resting against his shoulder as your ears drooped slightly. "Wonwoo... it's not stopping," you admitted, your voice trembling with frustration and embarrassment.
He tightened his hold on you, his fingers gently brushing through your hair. "Then we'll keep going," he said simply, his tone unwavering. "I'll stay with you until it's over."
You looked up at him, your eyes wide and filled with uncertainty. "You... you'd really do that for me?"
He smiled, the kind of soft, reassuring smile that made your heart ache. "Of course. I'd do anything for you."
The desperation in your voice, the way your trembling body clung to him—it was enough to make Wonwoo's self-control unravel. He brushed your tears away with a gentle hand, his dark eyes meeting yours, searching for any hesitation. When he saw none, only the pleading desperation in your gaze, he nodded softly.
"You sure, bun?" he asked, his voice thick with restraint, but the nickname rolled off his tongue like honey.
You could only nod frantically, your hands gripping his arms. "Please," you whispered, the ache too unbearable to handle any longer.
Wonwoo moved carefully, lowering himself between your legs, his broad shoulders holding your thighs apart. His fingers slid down to spread your folds again, his touch deliberate, making sure you were still ready for him. The sight of you, wet and needy, made him groan low in his throat, his cock straining against the last layer of fabric between you.
He pulled his underwear down in one swift motion, his length springing free. You gasped at the sheer size of him, the heat in your core only intensifying as you realized what was about to happen.
"I'll go slow," he murmured, positioning himself at your entrance. The tip of his cock teased your slick folds, and you whimpered at the sensation, your hips bucking instinctively.
The moment he started to push in, you moaned loudly, your body arching as the stretch sent a wave of pleasure and pain through you. He froze halfway, giving you time to adjust, his hand stroking your side in soothing circles.
"You're doing so well," he murmured, his voice a mix of praise and restraint. "Relax for me, bun. I don't want to hurt you."
His words melted into your ears, and you tried to relax, focusing on the way his hands steadied you. Slowly, he pushed in further, filling you inch by inch until he was fully seated inside you. You let out a breathy moan, your hands clutching at his shoulders as the overwhelming fullness consumed you.
"God, you're so tight," he groaned, his head dropping to your shoulder. "So perfect."
The heat in you was relentless, but the way he stretched and filled you brought a strange sense of relief, as if he was the only thing that could soothe the ache. When he started to move, pulling out slowly before thrusting back in, your body reacted instinctively, your hips lifting to meet his.
"Wonwoo... faster," you begged, your voice trembling as the pleasure began to overshadow the pain.
He didn't hesitate, his thrusts growing faster and deeper, each one hitting a spot inside you that made you cry out his name. The sounds of skin against skin filled the room, along with your soft cries and his low, guttural groans.
"You're so good for me," he rasped, his lips finding your neck, kissing and biting softly as he pounded into you. "Taking me so well."
Your ears twitched at the praise, and your hands slid up to tangle in his hair, pulling him closer. Every movement, every thrust seemed to push you closer to the edge, the heat in your core intensifying until it felt like you might explode.
"Wonwoo, I—I'm close," you whimpered, your nails digging into his back as your body tensed beneath him.
He nodded, his pace quickening as he held you tighter, determined to bring you over the edge. "Let go, bun. I'm right here. Let go for me."
His words were all it took to push you over, your orgasm crashing through you like a tidal wave. You cried out his name, your body shaking as the heat finally broke, leaving you breathless and trembling in his arms.
Wonwoo followed shortly after, his thrusts growing erratic as he buried himself deep inside you, groaning your name as he came. The feeling of his warmth filling you made your body relax completely, the last remnants of your heat fading away.
He stayed there for a moment, his forehead resting against yours as you both caught your breath. His hand came up to stroke your ear gently, his touch soothing as you leaned into him.
"You okay?" he asked softly, his voice laced with concern.
You nodded, a small, tired smile tugging at your lips. "Yeah... I feel so much better now. Thank you, Wonwoo."
He chuckled softly, pressing a kiss to your forehead. "You don't have to thank me. I'll always take care of you, bun."
Wonwoo's arms stayed wrapped around your waist as you sat perched on his lap, your legs straddling him. His forehead rested lightly against yours, and he let out a soft hum, his thumb tracing gentle circles over your lower back. You were still catching your breath, your body trembling slightly, but the closeness between you was soothing.
"You're adorable," he murmured, his lips brushing against yours in a soft kiss, as if testing the waters.
Your hands slid up his chest instinctively, clutching at his hoodie for balance. "Says the guy who just—" you paused, cheeks warming, "—made me feel things I didn't think were possible."
Wonwoo smirked faintly, his hands resting on your hips. "Well, I guess we both learned something new today," he teased, leaning in to capture your lips again.
The kiss deepened, slow and unhurried, like he was savoring the taste of you. His hand wandered to the small of your back, holding you securely in place as you pressed your body closer to his. The warmth between you both was intoxicating, and for a moment, it felt like the world outside didn't exist—only the two of you tangled together on the couch.
You broke the kiss, panting softly, your forehead resting against his. "Wonwoo..." you whispered, voice shy yet yearning.
His eyes searched yours, filled with a tenderness that made your chest ache. "What is it, bun?"
You smiled softly, your fingers brushing against the nape of his neck. "I feel... safe with you," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper.
His heart swelled at your words, and he pressed another kiss to your lips, gentle and reassuring. "You'll always be safe with me," he said firmly, his hand stroking your ear affectionately, earning a soft whimper from you.
As the heat of the moment lingered, Wonwoo shifted slightly, careful not to move too much and overwhelm your still-sensitive body. The weight of the intimacy between you felt heavy but comforting, like a quiet promise unspoken.
"You're really something, y'know," he muttered, his lips brushing against the shell of your ear.
You let out a quiet giggle, your cheeks flushing. "And you're not so bad yourself," you teased, nuzzling against him, your ears twitching slightly from the affectionate strokes of his fingers.
He let out a quiet laugh, his chest rumbling beneath you. "Guess we make a good pair then."
The two of you stayed like that, wrapped in each other's arms, sharing soft kisses and whispered words. The tension from earlier was gone, replaced with a warm, unspoken connection that neither of you wanted to let go of.
Wonwoo let out a soft groan, his hands firmly gripping your hips as you shifted slightly on his lap. The motion sent a jolt through both of you, and you gasped, your body still sensitive from earlier. His length was still buried deep inside you, and the intimate connection left your cheeks flushed and your heartbeat erratic.
"Careful," he murmured, his voice low and strained, the warmth of his breath brushing against your cheek. "I'm trying to take it slow, but you're making it hard."
You bit your lip, your hands braced on his shoulders for balance. "I-I wasn't trying to do anything," you whispered, your voice shy yet laced with a tinge of mischief.
He smirked at your flustered state, his hands sliding up to your waist to hold you steady. "Sure you weren't," he teased, leaning in to kiss the corner of your lips.
Your ears twitched slightly at the sensation, and you couldn't help but let out a soft whimper, your body instinctively clenching around him. The reaction drew a deep groan from Wonwoo, his grip on you tightening as his self-control teetered on the edge.
"You're going to drive me insane," he muttered, his forehead pressing against yours.
You giggled softly, a shy smile playing on your lips. "Maybe I like seeing you like this," you teased, your voice barely above a whisper.
Wonwoo's eyes darkened slightly at your words, a playful smirk curling at the corners of his mouth. "Oh, is that so?" he asked, his tone dripping with mock challenge.
Before you could respond, he shifted his hips slightly, the movement sending a spark of pleasure through your body. You gasped, your fingers digging into his shoulders as your breath hitched.
"W-Wonwoo!" you stammered, your cheeks burning.
He chuckled softly, his hands guiding your hips to keep you steady. "Relax, bun," he said gently, his tone soothing yet teasing. "I've got you."
The way he looked at you—like you were the only thing that mattered in the world—made your heart flutter. You leaned in, capturing his lips in a tender kiss, your body instinctively responding to his touch. The warmth between you was overwhelming, yet you couldn't bring yourself to pull away.
As the two of you stayed locked in each other's embrace, the world outside faded away. It was just you and Wonwoo, connected in a way that felt deeper than words could ever describe.
Wonwoo's hands slowly roamed up your back as you remained seated in his lap, the warmth between your bodies making you feel like you were melting into him. His lips brushed against yours in a slow, lazy kiss, and the intimacy of the moment made your ears twitch slightly.
"You okay?" he asked softly, his thumb brushing soothing circles on your hip.
You nodded, nuzzling into his neck, but your body betrayed you. The heat still lingered, subtle but growing again, your sensitivity making you squirm slightly. Wonwoo's hands tightened their hold on you, sensing your restlessness.
"Still not enough, huh?" he murmured, his voice low and filled with understanding.
"I-It's not..." you trailed off, too embarrassed to finish your sentence, but he tilted your chin up, his eyes meeting yours with a gentle, reassuring gaze.
"I'll take care of you," he promised, his lips brushing yours softly before his hands gripped your hips. With a slow movement, he adjusted your position, and the subtle shift made you moan quietly.
Wonwoo leaned back on the couch, guiding you to move at your own pace, letting you take control. You slowly lifted yourself before sliding back down, and the stretch had both of you exhaling in unison. The intimacy of it—the closeness—made your chest tighten with an overwhelming mix of emotions.
You began moving with his help, finding a rhythm that had you both panting softly. The warmth of his hands on your waist, his whispered words of encouragement, and the way he looked at you like you were the only thing that mattered made your heart race.
"Wonwoo..." you moaned softly, your hands braced on his chest as you moved.
"You're doing so good," he praised, his voice strained but tender. His hands guided your movements, his thumbs brushing over your skin in soothing strokes as he watched you lose yourself to the moment.
The pace gradually increased, your movements becoming more desperate as the pleasure built higher and higher. Wonwoo met you with soft thrusts, his control evident in the way he moved to match your rhythm perfectly.
When you finally reached your peak, your body trembled in his arms, and he held you close, whispering soothing words as you rode out your release. He wasn't far behind, his grip tightening as he followed you over the edge, his groan muffled against your shoulder.
You both stilled, panting heavily, and Wonwoo's arms wrapped around you to pull you into his chest. The weight of exhaustion mixed with relief settled over you, and you nuzzled into him, feeling safe and cherished.
"I think you're trying to kill me," Wonwoo joked softly, his lips pressing a gentle kiss to your temple.
You giggled, your ears twitching slightly as you leaned into him. "Sorry," you mumbled, though your tone was anything but apologetic.
He chuckled, his hands gently stroking your back. "Don't be. Just... don't move for a while. Let's stay like this," he whispered, his voice filled with affection.
And for a moment, everything felt perfect. But as the heat of the moment faded, the reality of your situation began creeping back in. The two of you had crossed a line, one that could never be undone.
Still, you stayed curled up in Wonwoo's arms, savoring the peace before the world outside the walls of his apartment could interfere once more.
The soft sunlight filtered through the curtains, warming your skin as you stirred awake. You blinked sleepily, the ache of last night still lingering in your body. The weight of his arm around your waist was grounding, protective. Wonwoo was still fast asleep, his chest rising and falling steadily, and for a moment, you allowed yourself to admire him. His face looked softer in the morning light, his sharp features relaxed into something impossibly gentle.
Your bunny ears twitched as his grip tightened slightly, pulling you closer even in his sleep. It was... cozy. Too cozy. You weren't used to this—waking up somewhere that felt safe. You almost didn't want to move, afraid that it would shatter whatever fragile bubble the two of you had formed.
But the warmth between your legs made you squirm slightly, a reminder of everything that had happened the night before. Your face flushed at the memory. You'd never been cared for like that—never had someone look at you like you were more than just... something to use. And yet, there he was, holding you like you were the most precious thing in the world.
Your ears perked up when you felt him stir. His hand flexed on your waist before his eyes fluttered open. His gaze was hazy, still heavy with sleep, but it softened immediately when he saw you.
"Morning," he mumbled, his voice deep and gravelly.
You nodded shyly. "Good morning."
His thumb traced lazy circles on your skin, and you could feel the heat rushing to your cheeks again. "How are you feeling?" he asked, his eyes searching yours.
"I'm okay," you murmured, though your voice wavered slightly. "A little... sore, maybe."
Wonwoo's brows furrowed slightly. "Did I hurt you?"
You shook your head quickly. "No, no! It's not that. I'm just... not used to it. To... someone being gentle."
He didn't respond immediately, but the way his hand tightened on your waist said enough. "You deserve gentle," he said quietly, his tone firm like he wanted to make sure you believed him.
Your chest tightened at his words, and you looked away, unsure of how to respond. This was all so new—too new. And yet, you didn't want it to stop.
The moment was interrupted by the sound of his phone buzzing on the nightstand. Wonwoo sighed, reluctantly letting go of you to grab it. His eyes scanned the screen, and you saw his expression shift slightly—his jaw tightening.
"What's wrong?" you asked softly, your ears drooping slightly at the sudden tension.
He hesitated for a moment before setting the phone back down. "Nothing," he said, though his tone betrayed him. "Just... work stuff."
You tilted your head, unconvinced, but you didn't push. Instead, you sat up, pulling the blanket around you. "Do you have to go?"
"No," he said quickly, sitting up to meet your eyes. "I'm staying right here."
His hand reached for yours, his thumb brushing over your knuckles. The look in his eyes was steady, reassuring. But you couldn't shake the feeling that whatever was on his phone wasn't just "work stuff."
Still, you smiled softly, letting yourself believe him for now. "Okay."
"Why don't we get some breakfast?" he suggested, his tone lighter now. "I'm sure you're starving."
You nodded, your stomach rumbling at the thought of food. As the two of you got up and started moving around the apartment, you couldn't help but wonder—what exactly was he hiding? And how long would this little bubble of safety last before reality came crashing in?
Wonwoo's lips brushed against the crown of your head as you curled up in his lap, his arms wrapped securely around you. The soft blanket he had draped over your shoulders kept you warm, but it was his steady heartbeat under your ear that gave you real comfort.
"You're awfully quiet now," he murmured, his hand absentmindedly stroking between your bunny ears, earning a soft hum from you. "Is something on your mind?"
You tilted your head slightly, meeting his gaze. His expression was gentle, almost serene, but his dark eyes held an intensity that made you feel bare yet safe all at once.
"It's just... I don't know how to say it," you admitted, chewing on your bottom lip.
"Try me," he coaxed, his fingers shifting to lightly pinch your ear, a smirk tugging at his lips when you squeaked.
You hesitated, feeling heat creep up your cheeks. "I... don't think I've ever felt this safe before. Like... you actually see me as me. Not just some... hybrid with—"
Wonwoo silenced you with a soft kiss, his lips lingering just long enough to melt away your worries. "You're not just anything, Y/N," he said quietly, his forehead pressing against yours. "You're you. That's what matters."
Your heart swelled at his words, and before you knew it, your arms were wrapped around his neck, pulling him into a tight hug. "Thank you, Wonwoo," you whispered.
"For what?"
"For being... this," you said, leaning back just enough to gesture at him, though you didn't really have the words to explain.
His lips quirked up in that understated smile of his, the one that made your stomach flip. "I guess you're welcome, then."
The moment felt too perfect to break, but your stomach had other plans, growling loudly enough to make you both pause.
Wonwoo chuckled, his chest rumbling against you. "Hungry?"
"...Maybe," you mumbled, your ears drooping slightly in embarrassment.
"Well, let's fix that." He shifted, preparing to stand up with you still in his arms.
"Wait! I can walk!"
He raised an eyebrow. "And miss the chance to carry my cute bunny to the kitchen? Not a chance."
You couldn't fight the grin that spread across your face as he carried you bridal style toward the kitchen, his teasing making your heart feel lighter than it had in years.
After a warm meal that left you feeling full and happy, Wonwoo guided you back to the couch. The evening air had turned cooler, and your soft pajamas were still in his room, far away from where you wanted to be—next to him.
"Here," he said, reaching into the basket of clean laundry he had yet to fold. He pulled out one of his shirts—a soft, oversized black one that smelled distinctly like him, that comforting mix of woodsy cologne and something warm, like coffee.
You blinked up at him, tilting your head. "That's... yours?"
"Yeah." He shrugged, holding it out to you. "You'll be more comfortable in this for now."
"But it'll smell like you."
"And that's a problem because...?" He gave you a lopsided grin, clearly enjoying the slight pout on your lips.
"It's not a problem," you muttered, cheeks warming as you tentatively took the shirt from his hands.
Wonwoo turned away to give you some privacy, though he couldn't help sneaking a quick glance over his shoulder as you slipped into the shirt. It draped over you like a dress, the hem brushing just above your knees, the sleeves far too long for your arms. You tugged at the collar nervously, your bunny ears twitching as the fabric enveloped you in his scent.
"Cute," he said simply, his voice soft but filled with affection.
You froze, your cheeks heating up. "Y-You think so?"
Wonwoo stepped closer, his hands gently landing on your shoulders before he tugged you into a hug. "Of course," he murmured, his chin resting lightly on the top of your head. "You smell sweet, like always. But now..." He took a subtle inhale, his arms tightening slightly around you. "Now you smell like me too. I like it."
His words sent a shiver down your spine, and you couldn't help but snuggle closer, your head pressing into his chest. "I... like it too," you admitted shyly, your voice muffled against him.
He leaned back just enough to tip your chin up, his dark eyes meeting yours. "Good," he said softly, brushing a strand of hair away from your face. "You should get used to it."
Your heart fluttered at his words, and you couldn't stop the small smile that tugged at your lips. "You're so smooth sometimes, you know that?"
He chuckled, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. "Only with you."
The warmth of his shirt enveloped you like a snug cocoon, and with the soft scent of him lingering on the fabric, you couldn't help but feel a little dazed. Wonwoo's shirt was oversized on you, the hem brushing against your thighs as you shifted your weight on the couch. The mix of his scent and the subtle sweetness you naturally carried made the air feel warm and comforting.
He pulled you close again, his large hands gently resting on your waist as he settled back into the cushions. You melted into him effortlessly, his solid chest a perfect pillow. Wonwoo's heartbeat was steady under your cheek, grounding you in the peaceful silence.
"You smell like me now," he murmured, his deep voice low and laced with affection. His lips ghosted against your temple, lingering there in a gentle kiss. "I like it."
You tilted your head up to meet his gaze, your cheeks flushed from his tender words. "That's unfair," you teased, voice soft as you traced a finger along the line of his jaw. "You keep saying things that make me weak."
A chuckle rumbled in his chest, and his lips quirked into that small, crooked smile that made your heart flutter. "Only because it's true. You look perfect like this." His arms wrapped around you tighter, pulling you into his lap effortlessly.
You let out a happy sigh, curling up against him, your legs draped over his as he rested his chin atop your head. "I don't think I've ever been this comfortable," you admitted, your voice muffled against his chest.
"Good," he replied simply, his hand finding yours and intertwining your fingers. The gesture felt as natural as breathing, his thumb idly stroking your knuckles as the two of you relaxed into each other's warmth.
Sleep was tugging at your eyelids now, the day's tension melting away with every gentle kiss he pressed to your forehead, your hair, and even your bunny ears. You nuzzled closer, letting out the smallest, most content hum, which made Wonwoo's heart skip a beat.
As your breaths evened out, he couldn't resist murmuring, "I'll keep you safe, always." He didn't know if you were awake enough to hear it, but it didn't matter. The words were true, and they hung in the quiet air like a promise.
His shirt wrapped around you, his scent lingering on your skin, and his strong arms holding you tight—it was a kind of peace you hadn't known existed.
And as the night stretched on, the two of you stayed that way—wrapped in each other, hearts beating in perfect rhythm.

So I saw a post on Tumblr that read:
“Imagine getting fucked from behind in a broom closet of the house of wind by Rhysand, his fingers in your mouth and his breath against your ear whispering “quiet down pet, you don’t want Feyre to catch us huh?”
And I am so desperate for a fic inspired by this. 👀
I love Feysand so, so much, but the thought of this did something to me.
I love your work so I immediately came to you. If you write it, thank you!!! If not, thank you anyway bc I love all of your work!! Ok byeeeee
.......alright you got me....
Extramarital Escapes
Warnings - smut, affair, slightly dub/con, abuse of power on Rhysand's end
A/n - I don't normally enjoy the idea of an affair and cheating, but I turned this into something I can work with.
Part 2
This was wrong.
So very wrong.
You gasped as Rhys hit that spot inside of you again, growling as you clenched around him.
This was not what you had in mind when he hired you to be their live-in nanny. It had started innocent enough. Rhys would seek out your company when Feyre would head into Velaris. There were short glances, a soft touch to reach around you at times. Those touches slowly became longer, though. They lingered on your waist, the sides of your thighs, your arms. You had thought you were imagining it until Feyre's first trip out of the Court with Nyx.
"Have a drink with me?" He had stopped you from sorting the heir's clothing, tilting your head up to look at him. "They say you aren't supposed to drink alone, Darling."
You had agreed, following him to the cigar room you knew even Feyre never entered. It was his sanctuary. His place to be alone. She had her studio. He had this.
That one drink turned into him getting closer to you on the couch, cornering you between him and it. He tipped the wine back further as you took a sip, trying to get you to relax with this dangerous look in his eyes.
You were pinned below him an hour later, drunk and begging him to fuck you harder, to let you cum. All while he smiled above you, eyes blown out in lust, saying over and over again that you felt exactly like he imagined.
You had told him the next morning it was a one-time thing, that it would never happen again, regardless of if you wanted it to happen. The High Lord simply smirked, undressing you with his eyes all over again. "We will see."
He cornered and took you anytime he wanted after that.
On his desk after Feyre would fall asleep.
On the table when she was out of the house and Nyx was down for a nap.
In your room during the dead of night when he decided his wife wouldn't satisfy his need to feel complete control and power over someone.
You had told him this morning that you were done. If he continued to touch you after this, you would tell Azriel, Cassian, or Feyre, believing one of them would protect you from him.
You loved Nyx and he was why you had put up with being Rhysand's whore for so long, but you needed it to end. You needed the guilt to stop eating you alive at night. You knew you were worth more, are worth more.
Rhysand had again smiled. "You love your job, don't you, y/n?" You nodded, eyes watering. "And in your contract, it is stated your job is to ensure the happiness of my family, correct?" You nodding again. "Then I suppose if you are not willing to fulfill that obligation, I should find a new nanny."
He knew he had you as you took a shaky breath, tears rolling down your face at the idea of never seeing his son again. "I'd hate to take him away from you. He loves you so much, and it is so very clear you love him."
"Rhys, please," you felt him pull you to him, slotting you between his legs as he sat on his desk. "I just can't keep being a mated males whore."
His face softened, hand moving to hold your chin. "You are not my whore. You are my escape. If you do not want that, if you do not want to be loved by me, then we have so few options."
You looked up and away from him. "I just want to take care of Nyx. Like I was hired to do."
"Then you do so on my conditions."
That was how you found yourself, chest pressed against the wall in an unused broom closet. The High Lord pounding you from behind, his fingers down your waiting throat to silence your cries.
You felt your eyes roll back, moaning loudly as you sucked those digits. His other hand was on your clit, circling the bundle of nerves in time with each heavy drag of his cock. "Shush," he growled in your ear. "Gotta be quiet, darling. You wouldn't want Feyre to catch us, would you?" He nipped your pointed ear, causing your walls to twitch around him. "Acting like you don't love my cock inside of you this morning, but now here we are. Sure, it feels like you love it when I'm inside of you. Don't you?"
You could only nod, eyes squeezing shut and moaning more as his hips met the plush skin of your ass over and over, driving into you again and again.
You could feel your orgasm building waiting for him to give the command to let go, and suddenly, he stopped. Pulling out of you and slapping your aching cunt. "This is your punishment for trying to end things with me," he whispered into your ear. "If you're a good girl the rest of the day, maybe I will let you cum tonight when she goes to Rita's with the girls."
He left you there, wet and aching for him in that broomcloset. You sunk down the wall, head falling to your knees.
A few hours later, you had finally gotten Nyx down for the night. You sighed, heading to Rhysand's office to let him know the heir was sleeping, that you would tend to him during the night since Feyre was gone, but two hushed voices had you stopping.
"You have to tell her," a feminine voice stated. "I don't want her to quit over this. Nyx loves her, Rhys."
"I know," Rhysand's voice was barely audible. "She tried today. I had to manipulate her into staying before I fucked her in the broom closet. You were supposed to catch us and join us."
You covered your mouth, hiding the gasp you made before standing silently. Feyre sighed on the other side of the door, "I got busy. Azriel had reports, and he was looking for you. I had to lie to him, Rhys. I don't want to keep lying to our family about her and what she is to us."
"Then let's replan it for next week. Since you are supposed to be out of the house. I wanted to give her the weekend off. I'm scared if I do now, she won't come back."
You walked away, having heard enough information, yet not enough all at the same time.
You could not tell if you were angry, excited, curious. You went to your room, closing and locking the door.
As you bathed, the side of you that hated games began to emerge, and you began a plan of your own. In that moment, you decided one thing, if Rhysand and Feyre wanted to play, you'd play too.

Hiiiii!! I hope your day is going well! I LOVE your writing so much, I'm constantly checking your page for any new posts all the time! 💜
I was wondering if I could make a request for some arcane characters (especially Silco) having a muscular girlfriend, like built like Rhea Ripley or Sevika type of muscular? So I myself am really into weight lifting, and sometimes I don't feel feminine enough to be with a man because of the muscle I've built up, and I was wondering if you could do something with that? I'm sorry if it doesn't make sense, 😅 this is my first time requesting anything from anyone. I completely understand if you don't want to do it for any reason!

JAYCE
The forge burned bright, casting flickering shadows across the workshop. The rhythmic clang of metal on metal reverberated through the air, a steady soundtrack to Y/N’s tireless work. Her muscles tensed, shifting beneath her skin as she tightened the last bolt into place, her strength making the task look effortless. She wiped the sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand, leaving a smear of grease in its wake. The sharp scent of burning coal and molten metal mingled in the heavy air, but Y/N found comfort in it—it was the scent of creation, of power, of purpose.
She barely flinched when a familiar voice echoed from behind her, smooth and teasing.
"You know, you might be stronger than me, but I’ve still got a sharper mind," Jayce remarked, arms crossed over his chest as he leaned against the workbench, his expression smug.
Y/N scoffed, turning to face him with a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. Her arms flexed slightly as she shifted her weight, the sheer power in her physique evident in the way her muscles moved beneath her skin. "That sounds like something a man who just lost an arm-wrestling match would say."
Jayce groaned, running a hand down his face. "I let you win."
"Sure you did. And I suppose I imagined that sulky look you had for an hour after?" she quipped, stepping closer. Their height was nearly matched, and as she closed the gap between them, the tension between them crackled like the electricity of a charged hex crystal. The scent of smoke, steel, and sweat clung to them both, and Jayce found himself more captivated than he cared to admit.
His eyes roamed over her, admiration clear even as he tried to mask it behind feigned exasperation. "You know, for someone built like a war goddess, you’re annoyingly smug."
She leaned in slightly, her voice dropping into something more intimate, her breath warm against his cheek. "And yet, you love it."
Jayce exhaled sharply, his confidence faltering for just a second before his hands instinctively found her waist, fingers pressing into the fabric of her worn workshirt. "Unfortunately, yes."
Y/N chuckled, the sound deep and rich, as she reached up and traced a calloused thumb along his jawline. The contrast of her rough fingers against the smoothness of his skin sent a shiver down his spine. "You should work on your grip strength if you ever want to win next time."
Jayce let out a short laugh, tilting his head with an amused glint in his eyes. "Oh, I’m working on something better." His hands tightened around her waist, suddenly shifting his stance. In a swift motion, he flipped their positions, pinning her against the worktable with a satisfied smirk. "Maybe I should start testing my strength in other ways."
Y/N arched a brow, utterly unfazed by his display of dominance. If anything, the gleam in her eyes suggested she was entertained by it. "If you think you can handle it, be my guest."
Jayce’s smirk widened, his confidence returning in full force. His face inched closer, his lips barely brushing hers. "Oh, I’m more than willing to find out."
The forge fire roared beside them, but the heat between them burned hotter. The air was thick with challenge, want, and the silent understanding that whatever came next would be a battle neither of them wanted to lose.
Jayce’s fingers traced slow circles at her waist, his touch firm but teasing. "You know, for someone who claims to be stronger, you’re letting me hold you down pretty easily."
Y/N rolled her eyes, the glint of mischief flashing in them before she moved. With one sharp twist of her torso and a flex of her powerful arms, she reversed their positions in a blink. Jayce found himself the one pinned now, his back pressed against the sturdy worktable, Y/N towering over him with an amused smirk.
"What was that?" she mused, tilting her head mockingly. "Something about letting you hold me down?"
Jayce huffed a breathless laugh, the mix of surprise and admiration written all over his face. "I should’ve seen that coming."
"You really should’ve." Y/N’s fingers trailed up his chest, her nails grazing along the fabric of his vest. "But it’s cute that you thought you had me."
Jayce groaned dramatically. "You enjoy this way too much."
"Oh, absolutely." Her voice was honeyed, teasing, but there was something deeper beneath it—a challenge, an invitation.
Jayce’s hands tightened around her hips, his body thrumming with the same competitive energy that had always defined their relationship. "Then I guess I’ll just have to keep finding ways to turn the tables."
Y/N leaned in close, their noses nearly brushing, her lips hovering just out of reach. "Good luck with that."
His lips parted slightly, ready to close the gap, but just as he moved, she pulled back with a smirk, leaving him chasing the ghost of her touch. Jayce let out an exaggerated groan, rubbing a hand over his face as she chuckled triumphantly.
"You’re insufferable," he muttered, but there was no heat in his words, only fondness.
"And you love it," Y/N reminded him with a wink, turning back toward her tools. "Now, if you’re done trying to prove yourself, I actually have work to do."
Jayce sighed, running a hand through his hair before smirking again. "I’ll let you work, but this isn’t over."
Y/N only grinned over her shoulder. "Wouldn’t dream of it."
VIKTOR
The laboratory hummed with the soft glow of hextech, casting blue reflections across the polished floors. Tools and blueprints lay scattered over Viktor’s workbench, forgotten in the wake of his intense concentration. The metallic scent of machinery and faint traces of burnt ozone filled the air, mingling with the ever-present dampness of Zaun. His cane rested within arm’s reach, leaning against the table—an extension of himself, always present, but secondary to his mind’s pursuit.
Then came the sound of boots. Heavy, deliberate, and confident.
Viktor didn’t need to turn to know who it was. He could feel the shift in the air, the distinct scent of oil and steel mixed with something uniquely her—warmth that had nothing to do with the heat of Zaun’s ever-burning pipes.
“Still working?”
Her voice, smooth and deep, rumbled like distant thunder. A sound that promised both comfort and devastation, depending on who was listening.
Viktor smirked but didn’t look up immediately, his golden eyes flicking across the equations before him. “When am I not?”
He finally turned, gaze drifting upward to meet hers. She was a sight to behold.
The dim hextech lighting cast sharp shadows over her frame, emphasizing the powerful cut of her arms, the broad set of her shoulders, and the sheer presence that followed her like an unspoken force. She wasn’t just strong—she was built. Every muscle, every inch of her screamed dominance, yet she looked at him with a softness that no one else was privileged to see.
Y/N closed the distance between them with a few long strides, crossing her arms over her chest. “You know, it wouldn’t kill you to take a break.”
Viktor exhaled through his nose, a chuckle barely escaping his lips. “That is debatable.”
Her lips quirked. He always had a witty remark, always teasing despite the exhaustion etched into his features. The dark circles under his eyes had grown deeper, the sharp angles of his face more pronounced.
He was pushing himself again.
Without another word, she reached out, gripping his waist with ease and lifting him like he weighed nothing.
“Miláček—!” Viktor’s voice hitched, startled, but she only adjusted him until he was sitting on the edge of the workbench, her large hands firm yet careful. (Darling)
He swallowed hard. His cane clattered against the wood as he instinctively reached out to steady himself, but she was already there, her hands settling on either side of him, pinning him in place.
“This is what you get for not taking care of yourself,” she murmured, her voice lower now, softer.
He felt it then—that contrast between them. His fragility, her unshakable strength. She could crush him in an instant if she wanted to, but instead, she cradled him, held him like something precious.
Viktor’s breath came a little shorter, golden eyes flickering to her hands, to the way her muscles tensed beneath her skin, veins subtly visible beneath the dim glow of the laboratory’s light.
Her fingers trailed along his jaw, tilting his face up.
“How long since you ate?”
His throat bobbed as he swallowed, mind racing between pride and the truth.
“I… may have lost track of time.”
A slow, knowing smirk spread across Y/N’s lips. Caught.
“Figured. You always do.”
She reached behind her, pulling a wrapped meal from her belt—something she had clearly anticipated. The habit had started after far too many nights of finding him hunched over his workbench, exhausted, starving, too lost in his research to notice the passage of time.
Viktor sighed, feigning dramatic exasperation. “You are terribly persistent.”
“And you love it.” She peeled back the wrapping and held it up to him expectantly.
He didn’t argue. Instead, he took a slow bite, gaze never leaving hers. There was something intimate in the way she watched him, the way she waited for him to eat, to take care of himself.
Y/N tilted her head slightly, watching him chew. “Good?”
He swallowed, licking his lips. “You always bring the best food. Are you sure you are not trying to fatten me up?”
A chuckle rumbled from her chest, deep and rich. “Maybe. You could use a little more weight.”
Viktor huffed, but he let her feed him another bite anyway.
She stepped closer, her body nearly pressed between his knees now. The warmth of her presence was inescapable, surrounding him in a way that sent a slow shiver down his spine.
Y/N leaned in, her breath brushing against his cheek. “You can keep working,” she whispered, a promise, a challenge, a demand all in one. “But only if you let me take care of you.”
Viktor exhaled, his fingers curling around the edge of the bench. He was a man of logic, of science—but with her, logic had no place.
He tilted his head ever so slightly, lips ghosting against hers, not quite a kiss but a silent surrender.
“Very well,” he murmured.
Y/N smirked, pressing a brief, heated kiss to the corner of his mouth before pulling back—just enough to make him chase after her touch.
“I knew you’d see reason,” she teased.
And Viktor, for once, let himself be weak in her arms. After all, what was steel without something strong to temper it?
JAYVIK
The soft glow of Piltover’s evening lights filtered through the window of the shared bedroom, casting long shadows across the wooden floors. The room was warm, filled with the scent of parchment, oil, and the faint metallic tang of Hextech—Viktor’s and Jayce’s lingering presences intertwined with hers. Yet, Y/N couldn’t feel it. Not tonight.
She stood in front of the mirror, arms crossed over her torso, gaze tracing the hard lines of her reflection. Strong. Broad. Unshapely. The voices from the Academy’s halls echoed in her mind.
“Have you seen her? She could snap a man in two.”
“Not exactly the delicate kind, is she?”
“Jayce and Viktor must be into something… unconventional.”
Her jaw tightened. It wasn’t the first time she had heard people talk. It shouldn’t have mattered. She knew she was strong. That strength had carved her a place in Piltover’s elite, had let her hold her own in a world that valued refinement and poise over raw power. But standing there, looking at herself—she didn’t feel like the kind of woman Piltover whispered about in admiration.
A sigh sounded behind her. The familiar thump of Viktor’s cane was gentle as he approached, his golden eyes heavy with quiet understanding. He didn’t speak immediately. Viktor had a way of watching, studying, absorbing the weight of her emotions before offering his words.
“Your shoulders are tense,” he observed, his voice laced with concern. He moved beside her, his fingers ghosting along her forearm. “And your eyes are unkind to you tonight.”
Before she could respond, another presence joined them, the warmth of Jayce’s body pressing gently against her from behind. His large hands slid over her waist, fingers firm yet tender as he leaned down to press his lips to her bare shoulder.
“You’ve been quiet since we came back,” Jayce murmured. “What’s going on?”
Y/N clenched her jaw, staring at her reflection. “I heard some people talking,” she admitted, voice clipped. “About me. About us.”
Jayce and Viktor exchanged a glance, but neither interrupted. They knew she needed to get it out.
“They think it’s strange that you two are with someone like me. That I’m…” Her voice wavered, something bitter catching in her throat. “Not feminine enough.”
A beat of silence. Then, Viktor exhaled, the sound sharp, disapproving. “Imbeciles,” he muttered, his accent thick with disdain. He moved closer, his fingers brushing the back of her hand. “And you listen to them?”
Jayce scoffed, arms tightening around her waist. “They don’t know what they’re talking about. They don’t know you.”
“But they’re right,” she whispered. “I don’t look like the women they expect you to be with.” She forced herself to hold Viktor’s gaze in the mirror, even as shame clawed at her chest. “I don’t feel like I fit next to you two.”
Viktor’s brow furrowed, his hand reaching up to cup her cheek, tilting her face slightly toward him. His touch was gentle despite the coolness of his fingers. “You are not meant to fit into their expectations,” he murmured. “You are meant to be you.”
Jayce nodded, his lips pressing against her temple. “You’re strong. Beautiful. Gods, Y/N, have you seen yourself? I mean really looked?”
She wanted to argue, but Viktor was already guiding her gaze back to the mirror, his voice low and insistent. “Look at how Jayce holds you,” he said. “Like he never wants to let go.”
Jayce squeezed her waist, his grip reverent. “Because I don’t.”
“And look at how I stand beside you.” Viktor leaned against his cane, yet his posture was firm, unwavering. “Not as a man towering over a delicate flower, but as your equal. As your partner.”
Y/N swallowed hard, emotion tightening in her throat. She had spent so long focusing on what she lacked, what she thought she wasn’t, that she hadn’t truly seen herself through their eyes. The unwavering devotion in Viktor’s gaze, the adoration in Jayce’s touch—it was all there. It had always been there.
Jayce turned her around, cradling her face between his hands. “I love you,” he said firmly, eyes dark with sincerity. “Every part of you.”
Viktor stepped forward, pressing his forehead gently to hers. “As do I.” His voice was quieter, but no less certain. “The world may try to tell you what a woman should be, but we know what you are. And we wouldn’t change a thing.”
Y/N’s breath shuddered out of her. The weight on her chest didn’t vanish entirely, but it lessened, replaced with something warmer, something steadier. She wasn’t alone in this. She never had been.
She looked between them, then back at the mirror—not with disgust this time, but with something closer to acceptance. Maybe even pride.
And as Jayce pulled her into a slow, deep kiss, with Viktor’s fingers lacing through hers, she let herself believe it.
VANDER
The scent of alcohol, fried food, and the faint tinge of smoke lingered in the Last Drop as Y/N hoisted a massive crate of bottled liquor over her shoulder with ease. The wooden floor creaked under her boots as she carried it behind the counter, setting it down with a satisfying thud.
From behind the bar, Vander looked up, arms crossed, an amused smirk tugging at his lips. "You know, I could’ve helped with that."
"You could have," Y/N replied, rolling her shoulders, her muscles flexing slightly as she loosened up. "But then you wouldn’t get to admire me in action, would you?"
Vander let out a low chuckle, stepping closer with a slow shake of his head. "That’s true." His eyes trailed over her strong frame, filled with something close to admiration. "Wouldn't dream of missing it."
Y/N gave him a knowing look. "Careful, old man, keep looking at me like that and people are gonna think you’re sweet on me."
Vander exhaled a laugh, reaching out to squeeze her bicep. "Think they already figured that out."
Before he could steal a kiss, a high-pitched voice interrupted.
"Y/N! Y/N! Can you lift me next?"
Powder came barrelling toward her, blue eyes wide with excitement, already reaching her arms up like a child asking to be picked up.
With a fond shake of her head, Y/N scooped the girl up effortlessly, hoisting her onto her shoulders like she weighed nothing. Powder let out a delighted whoop, her small hands grabbing onto Y/N’s head as she stretched her arms out like wings.
"I’m taller than you now, Vi!" Powder declared proudly, her feet kicking lightly against Y/N’s chest.
Vi, who was leaning against a table with her arms crossed, scoffed. "Yeah, yeah, we all know Y/N’s got muscles for days." She eyed Y/N's arms, clearly impressed despite her casual tone. "Speaking of… you gonna teach me how to throw a punch or what?"
Y/N let Powder slide off her shoulders and smirked, cracking her knuckles. "You sure you’re ready for that, kid? I don’t go easy."
Vi’s grin widened, excitement sparking in her eyes. "I hope not."
Vander groaned, shaking his head. "Vi, if she breaks you, I’m the one who has to deal with it."
Y/N shot him a teasing glance. "Please. She’s your daughter. Stubborn as hell. She can take it."
Vi straightened up a little at that, looking more than pleased with herself.
Before Y/N could say anything more, Claggor walked up, rubbing the back of his head. "Hey, Y/N, I bet you could break one of those barrels out back with your bare hands. Wanna test it?"
Y/N raised a brow. "Why? You trying to see if I’m part Shimmer monster or something?"
Claggor grinned. "No, just wanna see if you’re stronger than Vander."
Vander let out a dramatic scoff. "Oi! I’m standing right here."
Mylo, sitting on a barstool with his feet kicked up, smirked. "We all know who’s stronger, old man. Ain’t no shame in it."
Y/N crossed her arms, looking Vander up and down with mock appraisal. "So, you gonna admit defeat now, or should I arm-wrestle you in front of everyone?"
Vander stepped closer, his lips twitching as he met her gaze. "You think you could take me, love?"
Y/N didn’t hesitate. "I know I could."
Vander sighed, rubbing his chin in thought. "Hmm. Maybe I should let you win. Just this once."
"Ha! So you admit it!" Mylo cackled.
Vander shot him a look but couldn’t hide his smirk. "Alright, alright. Let’s settle this, then." He rolled up his sleeve and placed his arm on the bar. "Loser does all the heavy lifting for a week."
Y/N snorted. "You already make me do that anyway."
Vander laughed. "This time, it’d be for fun."
The kids gathered around, eager to watch.
"Three… two… one—GO!" Vi shouted.
Vander pushed, his muscles straining, but Y/N didn’t budge.
"Uh-oh," Claggor muttered, eyes widening.
Mylo leaned forward, grinning. "Damn, Vander, you’re struggling!"
Y/N cocked her head. "You good, old man?"
Vander grit his teeth, trying to shift the angle, but Y/N took advantage of his hesitation and slammed his hand down onto the bar with a loud thunk.
The room erupted.
"YES!" Powder threw her arms in the air. "Y/N wins!"
Vi doubled over laughing. Claggor gave a victorious fist pump. Mylo looked like he was going to cry from laughter.
Vander groaned, rubbing his wrist. "Yeah, yeah, alright. Get it out of your system."
Y/N grinned, leaning her elbow on the bar. "Told you."
Vander shook his head with a chuckle, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her close. "Fine. You win." His voice softened just a little. "But you’re still carrying the next shipment."
Y/N laughed, giving him a light shove before relenting and letting him hold her. "Yeah, yeah. Like Id let you do it anyway."
The kids were still celebrating as Powder climbed back onto her shoulders, and Vander just exhaled a laugh.
Life in the Lanes was tough, but together, they built something stronger than steel—family.
And for Vander, well… there was no one else he’d rather have by his side.
SILCO
The dim glow of Silco’s office bathed the room in a wash of amber and shadows, the air thick with the scent of whiskey and smoldering tobacco. It was a quiet night, the hum of Zaun’s underbelly distant beyond the walls.
Y/N sat beside him, as she always did—a silent, constant presence at his side. She draped herself in a dark, well-fitted coat, the fine tailoring hiding the sculpted power beneath. If one didn’t know better, they might mistake her for just another of Silco’s lieutenants, a woman of sharp wit and sharper eyes.
But she was so much more than that.
She was beautiful in a way that left people speechless, a rare kind of allure wrapped in muscle and confidence. Her face, all defined angles and smooth lines, carried a striking elegance—one that softened only for Silco, and even then, just barely. Her beauty was undeniable, yet it was always followed by disbelief.
Because how could someone so breath-taking, so effortlessly graceful, be the same woman who broke men apart with her bare hands?
=
Silco remembers the first time he laid eyes on Y/N, she was drenched in sweat and blood, standing victorious in the heart of the pits. The crowd roared her name—a guttural chant that echoed through the underground like a war cry. She was unlike anything he had seen before: powerful, precise, and utterly relentless.
She had made quick work of her opponent, a man twice her size, breaking him down with brutal efficiency. And when she turned, wiping blood from her lip with the back of her hand, their eyes met. A flicker of something unspoken passed between them.
She was dangerous.
And he wanted her.
So he made her an offer. And she accepted.
At first, she was his champion, the shadow lurking just behind him, a blade he could wield when necessary. But as time passed, the lines blurred. The sharp words they exchanged turned into private conversations late into the night. The way she stood by his side became something more than duty.
And now, she was more than his weapon.
She was his.
=
Silco took a slow drag from his cigar, exhaling the smoke in a thin stream as his gaze drifted to her. Even in the low light, she was a sight to behold—composure like steel, presence like a silent storm waiting to break.
His queen.
“Something on your mind?” she murmured, her voice smooth but edged with something knowing.
He smirked, swirling the amber liquid in his glass. “Just reminiscing.”
A single dark brow lifted. “About?”
“The first time I saw you.” His voice was almost wistful, fingers reaching out to trace idly over her knuckles, his touch a stark contrast to the brutality she was capable of. “You were magnificent.”
Y/N chuckled, low and rich. “I still am.”
His laughter was quiet, appreciative. “That you are.”
She leaned back in her chair, one arm draped lazily over the armrest, the picture of controlled ease. But Silco knew her too well—she was always watching, always calculating. No movement in the room escaped her notice, no potential threat left unaccounted for.
“I sometimes wonder what would’ve happened if I hadn’t come to you that night,” she mused, eyes dark with contemplation. “If I had stayed down in the pits.”
Silco’s grip on her hand tightened, his scarred fingers pressing firmly against her skin.
“You wouldn’t have.”
She turned her gaze to him, curious.
“You were never meant to be someone’s entertainment,” he murmured, eyes burning with something deep, something possessive. “You were meant to be something far greater.”
A smirk tugged at her lips. “Your weapon?”
“No.” His thumb brushed over her knuckles, slow, deliberate. “My queen.”
For a moment, Y/N was silent, that rare flicker of emotion crossing her sharp features. Then, she leaned in, pressing a firm kiss to his scarred cheek, her lips warm against his cool skin.
“I like the sound of that.”
Because it was true.
She was never meant to be caged in a pit, throwing punches for drunken gamblers. She was never meant to be anything less than what she was now—the shadow at his side, the storm on the horizon, the queen beside the king.
And in the underbelly of Zaun, where power meant survival, they reigned together—unstoppable, unchallenged, and utterly untouchable.
SEVIKA
The Last Drop was alive with the kind of energy that thrived in the Undercity—laughter that was too sharp to be friendly, the clatter of cards against wood, the tang of sweat and whiskey thick in the air.
You stood near the bar, arms crossed, the snug fit of your sleeveless top emphasizing the carved muscles of your arms. The dim lighting flickered against your skin, casting shifting shadows that danced over the solid contours of your frame. People noticed you—the way your presence took up space, the way you owned it.
But your attention wasn’t on them.
Your gaze was locked on her.
Sevika sat at her usual spot, legs spread in an easy sprawl, shoulders broad, coat draped over her chair. A woman built for war, for brawls in the dim alleyways of Zaun, for surviving every hell that the Undercity threw her way. The neon light caught the gleam of her metal arm as she shuffled her cards, cigarette perched between her lips, smoke curling upward in a lazy dance.
She smirked as she threw down her hand.
The man across from her stiffened, veins bulging at his temple. You could almost see his pride shatter into sharp, jagged pieces as Sevika raked in her winnings with a gloved hand.
“You cheat,” he spat, shoving himself up from his chair. His fists clenched tight—like that would do him any good.
Mistake.
Before Sevika could even move, you did.
Slow. Deliberate. Measured.
The room shifted, attention drawn toward the sudden shift in weight. The low, flickering lights made your shadow loom, swallowing him whole. You weren’t just tall—you were built, a force sculpted by hardship, sharpened by the same fire that tempered steel. The kind of strength that didn’t come from privilege, but from clawing your way up and winning.
The thug’s bravado wavered.
Up close, he barely reached your shoulder.
“You accusing her of something, sweetheart?”
Your voice was calm, but it carried weight—a lazy sort of threat, one that didn’t need to be stated outright. Your posture alone was enough. Shoulders squared, head tilted ever so slightly. A quiet promise of what would happen if he made the wrong decision.
His Adam’s apple bobbed.
He wasn’t entirely stupid.
After a moment of hesitation, he muttered something under his breath and scurried off, tail tucked between his legs. The tension around the table faded, conversations resuming like nothing had happened. This was Zaun, after all—no one cared unless blood was spilled.
You chuckled softly, shaking your head before turning back to her.
Sevika was already watching you.
Amusement curled at the edges of her lips, sharp eyes dragging over your form in slow, deliberate assessment. She tapped her cigar against the tray, the ember glowing before dimming into curling smoke.
“You enjoy scaring off my entertainment?” she mused, voice edged with something dry, something knowing.
You stepped closer, looming over where she sat, and she didn’t move. Didn’t flinch. Didn’t waver beneath the weight of your presence.
She met it. Matched it.
Your smirk was slow, teasing. “Didn’t realize you liked being disrespected.”
Sevika exhaled smoke, the scent mixing with the whiskey on her breath as she leaned back, prosthetic fingers tapping idly against her glass.
“I don’t,” she admitted, reaching out with her other hand to brush her fingers over your forearm. The touch was light, almost lazy, but intentional. She traced the veins that ran like rivers beneath your skin, the hard lines of muscle beneath her fingertips.
“But I do enjoy watching you step in.”
Something in your chest tightened—not in surprise, but in understanding.
Because you knew what she meant.
She wasn’t someone who needed anyone to defend her. Sevika could hold her own, could break a man in half without blinking. But that wasn’t the point. It was never about needing help—it was about who stood beside her when it mattered.
Your smirk softened, shifting into something smaller, something real. “That so?”
Sevika chuckled, low and rich.
Her fingers curled around the fabric of your collar, tugging you forward—not in aggression, not in demand, but something else. A silent appreciation, an unspoken acknowledgment of what had just passed between you.
The closeness was familiar, natural.
The weight of her forehead pressed lightly against yours for just a brief moment, the noise of the bar fading into something distant, something irrelevant. A pause in the storm, a rare stillness in the chaos of Zaun.
She exhaled, the breath warm against your cheek.
“Come upstairs,” she murmured, voice steady, calm.
It wasn’t a demand. It wasn’t even a question.
It was an invitation.
A chance to be, without the weight of the Undercity pressing down. Without the watchful eyes, without the world demanding you be something hard, something unyielding, something unbreakable.
You exhaled a quiet laugh, letting the moment linger before finally nodding.
“Lead the way.”
And just like that, the game was over.
Sevika had won again.

The Arsonist Theory, Part 1: Mandibles!
Eight years ago, a few weeks shy of the day itself, I wrote something called The Arsonist Theory. It was my last theory post before making this blog, and looking back, it was disorganized, and I could have presented it better.
So, with new evidence, I'm doing just that.
The core of the theory is this: You don't blame the arson itself for a fire. You blame the arsonist that set the fire in the first place. There is a secret third piece of the puzzle here- not the act of arson, not the fire itself, but something more.
Therefore, consider this: Bill was not the sole perpetrator of the Euclidean Massacre. Rather, he was a weapon used to commit it.
Like the original, this will be a four-part theory, just to make it more digestible. I'll refer back to the original on occasion, but most of it will be new information.
Oh, and-
MAJOR, MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE BOOK OF BILL UNDER THE CUT. THIS INCLUDES THE TEXT ITSELF AND SOLUTIONS TO CIPHERS.
With that out of the way, let's go.
In another post, I mentioned that the specific wording of "Saw his own dimension burn" having a very passive connotation to it, plus parts of the glitched page, shown here- make it incredibly likely, if not certain, that the massacre was an accident on Bill's part.

Bill's main intention was to show everyone what he had seen all along-- show them that he wasn't crazy. But that's not what happened.
Also, just as an aside- part three of the original theory has some examples of exact wording being a thing to pay attention to in matters surrounding Bill. It mostly concerns his deals with others, but in a Doylist sense, it tells us: exact wording is important with this character, so pay attention.
But let's put a pin in that for a second.
On the page teaching us how to trick everyone into loving us, there's a portion about conversation topics:
The cipher in the candy heart says "LIES," by the way, and it's the only cipher on the page- immediately setting this portion apart from all the others. Bill says here that one conversation topic on a date-- while meeting someone-- is the very specific term, "mandibles."
Say, where have I seen that recently?
Huh... that's interesting! What a specific word to come up twice, in these specific contexts! Remember what I said about exact wording? Sure you do, you have a very good memory, I admire that about you!
But that's not everything I noticed.
All that glitching? You can actually see text peeking out at certain points. And what does that text say?
"Nice to meet ya!"
Over and over and over again.
There's nothing else in my mind that can make this make sense to me. There was someone else there. He met up with someone.
But that's not all- I still have three more posts of evidence to write.
Check back here for links to them- they should all come out within the next day or two, and I'm gunning for all of it to be out before the countdown on thisisnotawebsitedotcom hits zero.

Requests
⚰︎ Requests are always welcome unless my pinned post says otherwise. Do be patient in waiting for your request to be answered. And if I don’t do your request, don’t be upset! I most likely didn’t see it within the onslaught of the other requests.
What can you request?
⚰︎ I mainly write blurbs for requests! I like to keep full length fics and stuff to my own wall of ideas just to keep it fair for everyone. So, have a blurb idea? Awesome! GIMME IT. ⚰︎ Request character x character, or character x reader, even character x reader x character!
What won’t I write about?
⚰︎ Im sensitive to outright rape. So I won’t write about that. Although I will write dub/cnc as long as somewhere in the writing I mention that it is at least somewhat consensual. ⚰︎ Scat/watersports. It’s just not my groove. ⚰︎ Child stuff OBVIOUSLY. ⚰︎ Anything morally wrong. ⚰︎ I don’t write anything about cheating unless it is a planned thing. See an example here.
Who do I write about?
⚰︎ Any and all COD ⚰︎ Stranger things (all underage characters are exempt from this) ⚰︎ Criminal minds ⚰︎ Gladiator ⚰︎ TLOU

observations from grading hundreds of american college students' discussion posts and essays about film
before i get into this i want to be SO clear that this is not meant to be a "kids these days" thing, but more a commentary on the contemporary media landscape and the impacts of new media on young people's consumption habits. i think that young people's expectations of film are primarily a reflection of how they've been taught to watch and process film.
also, i teach intro, so these are not necessarily film or even humanities majors. many of my students are in computer science, engineering, etc. okay yay let's go <3
most american college students have quite literally Never seen a single movie that was not in english, and are very resistant to reading subtitles.
i've had multiple students comment that non-english language films which require them to read subtitles force them to actually look at the screen, which makes them notice more details in the film. they are not accustomed to actually Watching films, and doing so is novel to them. they're used to just turning things on in the background before doing other tasks/scrolling on their phones.
students frequently comment upon whether or not a film was able to hold their attention, and many consider it a failing of the film itself if not. many students also lose interest when they are confused or uncertain about what is happening in a movie, rather than becoming more invested or intrigued.
some do note that they have short attention spans, and will clearly state that they do not watch or enjoy many movies because of this.
things which students see as inherently boring include black and white films, silent films, non-English-language films, and films more than twenty years old. many students were shocked when they enjoyed a film within any of the aforementioned categories.
a lot of students will see all of the pieces of the puzzle, but struggle to put them together. for example: they will note that a detective character seems to care more about pinning a crime on somebody than they care about actually solving it, that the detective is bad at their job, that the detective brutalizes suspects, but they will not quite reach the conclusion that the film is doing these things intentionally. rather than concluding that the film is criticizing the police, they will be upset that the character is so awful.
one student insisted that mad max: fury road is a deeply misogynistic film because the women were treated as objects and wore skimpy clothes. the fact that the entire plot of the film is about said women asserting their personhood and overthrowing the patriarchal order to establish a more egalitarian and empathetic matriarchy was not relevant to her; what mattered was how they looked, and no amount of explanation could change her mind. i don't really have a clear theory of what was going on here, but i wanted to share it because it feels. poignant. in a way i cannot articulate.
many students see "old" films as inherently worse than contemporary films. they will often say things like, "the movie was really good for something from the fifties."
a lot of people have never heard of alfred hitchcock. i don't rly have a take on this it just stunned me.
and this last one isn't necessarily film-specific, but i do think it's relevant to discussing media literacy and the quality of k-12 + STEM-focused university education: so many students do not know how to format a paper, and do not know how/do not think to look up a style guide or even consult the syllabus or assignment sheet.
students often add additional spaces between paragraphs, and/or use 1.15 pt. spacing rather than double spacing their papers. they'll use calibri or arial rather than times new roman, in 11 pt. font rather than 12. they'll write out their thesis separately from their paragraphs, or not write in paragraphs at all, instead writing something that looks closer to stream-of-consciousness bullet-point notes.
it seems to me that many students somehow make it through high school and into university without ever learning how to write a paper. what really concerns me however is the fact that this information is extremely available to them; in the class syllabus, on their assignment sheet, even if you just google how to write a paper. i'm no expert in education and i don't want to be alarmist, but i do think that there is a concerning lack of curiosity and care in many students, primarily those studying in STEM fields. part of this is just the fact that many of my students are used to writing lab reports and this is a different sort of writing, but the lack of flexibility and ability to engage with other subjects is very sad to me.
plenty of my students are curious and read the syllabus and pay attention to the films and know how to write! but the number of those who struggle to formulate a coherent paragraph, let alone paper, who cannot identify basic themes, indicates to me that young people are seriously suffering from shortened attention spans, the lack of popular non-english language film and television in american culture, and the proliferation of "second-screen" streaming content designed to be "viewed" by audiences who are not paying attention.
i don't have a remedy for this. i don't totally know why i'm typing this all out, except that my tenure as a teaching assistant is coming to an end and i felt an irrepressible urge to reflect upon the experience. idk i suppose i hope this will be interesting to somebody. if you made it this far, thank you and i hope you're well <3

Fools | Kyra Cooney-Cross x ND!Reader
Words: 4.3k
Summary: no one understood your mind, until you met Kyra.
Notes: Guys I have no knowledge of how Emirates is laid out, how meeting players off the pitch works etc, so I’m completely making this shit up I’m sorry. also sorry for the super long introduction, and the shit writing, I haven’t written in months.
Warnings: mentions of abuse - not proofread. i'm so sorry if this is so shit i genuinely haven't written in months. i wanted this one to be good so bad but i just don't think it is
the person who requested this has since deactivated so i actually feel so bad that i didn't get this out while they were on here. i'm genuinely so sorry for the past like 6 months.
I always struggled with social interactions. I didn’t understand it for a long time, why I always had to smile and hug people, why I had to lie about certain things like how I thought my aunt’s bright green hat looked, why I couldn’t ramble about Star Wars or the new penguin facts I just learned.
Then there were the sounds, and lights and the way things felt. Everything had to be specific, or I couldn’t focus. Sometimes if it was bad enough that I would have a breakdown, unable to do anything. My parents tried to scold it out of me when as a kid I couldn’t eat certain foods or wear the clothes they wanted. Sometimes if they deemed it worthy, I’d be met with the flesh of a palm against my cheek or bottom.
-
When I was 12, I presented the idea that maybe I was autistic to my parents. I’d researched it at school for a social emotional learning class we had to take, and I couldn’t help but notice the similarities I found within myself. If I think about it hard enough, I can feel every burning outline of the dark red hand marks that bloomed on my skin hours after the interaction, and the burning of my eyes as my stomach rumbled, drowned out by the music rumbling through my headphones.
-
At 17 I emancipated from my parents and moved to North Watford, renting out a small studio apartment above a record shop. I completed my final year of high school, working part time in the store, building a much-desired routine. The man that owned the shop and my apartment, and his young daughter, were migrants from Cuba, and more than happy to accommodate to my needs. They even chipped in to help me pay for my autism screening after I graduated high school.
I think they were the first people I willingly hugged ever.
I stopped masking when I moved, so the daughter, Elena; 5, took a few months to understand why I didn’t like touch or loud noises and why I didn’t understand some of the jokes she said that others usually laughed at. Not that I’d had the diagnosis at that time, but she was happy to just spend time with me. Every afternoon when I came back from school and started my shift, she’d beg me for more penguin facts, asking which was my favourite penguin. In return she’d spend the 2-hour shift drawing me something, usually a penguin, to pin on my corkboard at home.
I’d then help with her homework while Camilo closed shop and posted any online orders. It was a routine I cherished deeply.
-
Now, 3 and a bit years later at 21 years old, they managed to drag me to a football game. Equipped with headphones and a couple small sensory toys, as well as a hoodie under the “Miedema” jersey, the material of which originally had me tugging and prying the shirt away from my skin.
Elena and Camilo had been big fans of Arsenal for as long as I’d known them, going to every home game, begging me to join them every week without fail. I finally caved during a break in my uni courses, with nothing to do and Elena’s birthday falling on the day of a game, there was no other choice.
The newly 9-year-old basically imploded when she saw my printed ticket stub, tucked tightly into her birthday card. I gently ruffled her hair, which had become my version of hugging her, and showed her the 3 matching red and white #11 jerseys I purchased not long ago. She’d talked a lot about this Vivianne Miedema and how she wanted to be just like her when she grew up, but she’d never gotten a jersey, or seats on the bottom tier. Today was the day.
~
“Come ooonnn I want to get to our seats!” the pinky of her left hand links with my right one as her other hand is holding her dad’s, and she’s dragging us down the lane toward the entrance.
“Slow down Pollito! We have 20 more minutes until we need to be seated.” My special schedule for the day runs through my head as I check my watch. Plenty of time as long as the crowd keeps flowing.
“I wish you didn’t learn Spanish. It’s such a silly nickname.”
“But you’re my little chicken.” I send a joking frown her way and she replies with a toothless grin.
With the abrupt end to the conversation, we arrive at the gate. Showing the stewardess our tickets to be scanned, we then head toward our seats. As Camilo and I take our seats at the very front, instead of make way to their usual seats a tier up, Elena stops and looks back and forth between us.
“There’s no way you got us these seats.” Without a word I pull the girl in between us and she begins to ramble about how excited she is to be able to see the game so close, still able to be clearly heard through my headphones I manage to slip over my ears.
~
The game is drawn 1-1 just after half time, but Arsenal is close to having the upper hand. From across the pitch, Elena spots the tall and lanky number 11, Vivianne Miedema, pulling off her fluoro yellow bib and warm up shirt and lining up next to number 32 behind the fourth official who is prepping her sign. With a couple of whacks to my arm and an aggressive point of her finger, Elena makes me and Camilo very aware of the impending entrance of her favourite player, and another really attractive girl who is very obviously wearing her socks on the wrong feet. The thought makes me squirm but a shot on goal quickly manages to take my focus.
“Who’s the one coming on with Viv? You’ve never told me about number 32.” It’s hard to take my eyes off the girl as she jumps from one foot to the other, anticipating her entrance.
“Oh that’s Kyra Cooney-Cross! She’s Australian, she transferred at the start of the season. Jonas should play her more.” I acknowledge her words with a hum and a nod before we join in cheering Viv and Kyra on.
My eyes are glued to Kyra the rest of the game. Without any knowledge of how football works, I’m left to assume she’s good with the way she dances around players and passes the ball. It was weird, but her movement was so free flowing it would not be atrocious to confuse her with a ballerina. Elegant and calculated, no hesitation.
~
“Where are we going?” my pinky is once again linked with Elena’s as I drag her and Camilo through Emirates.
“Papa where is she going? The exit is that way.”
“I have no clue chica, but I suppose we should trust her aye?” with that, the father-daughter duo track behind me.
Eventually I stop just where the opening of the tunnel leads out on to the pitch and show a lady the pass I’d been carrying around all day. She smiles and begins walking down the tunnel, waving behind her as a sign for us to follow.
“What’s going on?” Elena asks once again, but I just follow the lady onto the pitch, where multiple members of the Arsenal squad are now loitering around, obviously waiting for something, or someone. At the front of the group is Viv, and when she spots the small girl behind me her eyes light up.
“Hi! You must be Elena. We’ve heard a lot about you!” she sends the girl a smile, but Elena doesn’t make any move to continue the conversation. My head whips to her and I nearly have to laugh from how adorable she is. Her jaw has dropped open and her eyes are welling up with tears, so I ruffle her hair and bend down to her height, removing my headphones.
“What’s up buttercup?” I lightly tap her head.
“That’s really her.” she whispers to me, her eyes not leaving the Dutch woman, who lets out a chuckle.
“Yes it is.”
“How?” I tap the side of my nose at her question indicating it’s to be left a secret.
“Can I have a hug?” Viv kneels on one knee and opens her arms and Elena suddenly breaks lose from her trance and runs up to her hero.
“It’s nice to meet you liefje, I hear you’ve been a fan for a long time. And today’s your birthday. How old are you turning?”
“Nine!”
“Oh wow, you’re growing up!”
“I know, but Y/N still calls me Pollito. I’m not a little chicken.” Everyone looking on bursts out laughing as Elena frowns, and while I join them, the loud sound simply reminds me of the lack of protection on my ears.
~
Elena gets whisked off to talk and play around with Viv and some of the other girls, who seem to all have taken a genuine liking to the young girl, Camilo following to watch over them. I stand firmly on the sidelines, fidgeting with an infinity cube and trying to forget the sudden scratching of my hoodie’s tag on the back of my neck and the tightness of my socks, when a now familiar face pops in front of me.
I don’t notice her at first, my eyes are closed and I’m trying breathing patterns in hopes that the overstimulating sensations with dissipate. It’s only when I open my eyes to check on Elena that I get the shock of my life. Number 32 is just standing in front of me, staring, waiting for me to notice her. no less than a minute ago she’d been spinning Elena around and laughing with her, which I’d found alarmingly adorable, how’d she get here so fast?
She doesn’t say anything, she just smiles and waves, and I realise she must think I can’t hear her with my headphones on, which many people tend to ignore. Wow she’s much prettier up close.
“Hi, I’m Y/N” I return her smile, but don’t make any move to remove the headphones.
“I’m Kyra.” Her voice is muffled but her accent is incredible and like music to my ears.
“You played really well today.” Is she blushing? Red creeps up her neck and finds home on her round cheeks as she smiles brightly.
“Ah thanks, I try to give it my all. Hoping to prove I deserve more game time.”
“You don’t get played often?” another chuckle passes her lips and I feel my stomach tighten.
“Uh no. I take it you’re not a big football fan?”
“What gives you that idea.”
“Well rocking up to an Arsenal game with blue nails for a start.” I cock my head to the side and give her a confused look. I did a lot of research for today, there was no room for me to mess up.
“Chelsea, our biggest rivals, their colour is blue. It’s basically forbidden for an arsenal fan to wear blue to a game. Trust me, I learnt the hard way.”
I’m quick to hide my hands in the pocket at the front of my hoodie, fidgeting with my nails. How did I manage to fuck that up?
“You don’t really have to worry, just maybe keep it in mind if you ever come to another game. I hope you do by the way.” She flashes me a smile that makes me feel warm and I can’t help myself.
“You’re very pretty.” She’s about to reply when I glance down and notice her socks are still wrong.
“And I’m not sure if you know but your socks are on the wrong feet.” It’s quiet for a moment and I’m not sure if my common candour has once again overstepped. I can’t even open my mouth to apologise before she giggles.
“I knew there was something wrong. I keep doing it but no one tells me until after the game… and you’re quite beautiful yourself. If you don’t mind me saying.” My eyes continue to avoid her face as I bounce on the balls of my feet and try to refrain from shaking my hands, my most common stim.
“Thank you.”
We’re silent for a minute or so, which I don’t mind now that I’m more familiar with her. I continue to watch Elena and Camilo, who are now playing in a 5v5, Viv carrying the girl halfway down their makeshift pitch before helping her kick the ball. When her laughs echo through the stadium, joy breaking through her screams and from the yells of her dad who is playing a rather poor referee, I’m reminded of how much I love this family. I can’t help the smile on my face.
“Your sister is very adorable.” I glance to my side where Kyra now resides and contemplate telling her she isn’t my sister, but the words get stuck in my throat. If I were to say they weren’t my family after all they’ve done for me, then I’d be lying.
“Yeah. She’s basically my whole life.”
“Hey can I ask about the headphones? I mean you don’t have to say anything if you don’t want but-“
“I’m autistic. Struggle really bad with sound and other stimulants. I wear headphones to dampen sounds, especially in public. And stadiums are full of sounds.” My palms sweat a little and my breath is laboured for a moment. This is usually the part where people decide I’m a freak and never talk to me again.
“Oh cool. I totally get that, the sound thing.” That warm feeling returns. She doesn’t question anything, she just agrees.
~
Eventually the meet and greet had to end, but I manage to get a few of the girl’s numbers, including number 32’s. Something I hadn’t expected was that the team would love Elena so much that they wanted to organise season tickets and some more passes to meet up after home games. I couldn’t help but be a little proud of myself as the young girl rambled about how amazing it was to get to hang out with her idols, and the prospect of seeing them again.
~
Uni starts back up the following week, so I don’t join the two for a game for quite a while. Despite that, I find myself texting Kyra most days, a good morning and goodnight routine quickly being established. We ask each other questions about each other. ‘What did you want to be if football didn’t work out?’ ‘What made you want to study your course?’ ‘what’s your favourite thing about Australia?’.
She liked to ask me about parts of my autism every now and then. She wanted to know what things to avoid, what topics made me ramble for ages, safe foods. The only other people who had ever cared this much were Elena and Camilo. The two of which had definitely taken note of how happy I’d grown since the game.
“Who are you talking to Angelito? You haven’t smiled this big in a long time.” Camilo takes a seat beside me behind the desk of the store
There is no need to hide the blossoming relationship from him, so I turn my screen to show the messages between Kyra and I, a bold ‘No. 32’ under a very weird but unmistakable picture of the girl. He hums and smiles, lightly nudging our shoulders together.
“She likes you.”
“Pft no she doesn’t.”
“‘you’re so cute.’ ‘I really like you.’ ‘I’ll save that for when I take you on a date.’ With a winky face emoji. She literally admits she likes you. Twice.”
“I thought that was that flirty thing people do with their friends.”
“I know when people like each other.”
“How Milo?”
“I have a gift.”
“A gift hmm?” he just smiles widely down at me before taking my phone again. He begins to type something.
“What are you writing Milo? Milo!” I glance over his shoulder.
‘I really like you and would like to go on a date if you’re free.’ I’m about to scold him but three dots appear as Kyra begins typing.
“If this works you owe me an extra hour this week.”
“You are an evil schemer Camilo.” I say before squeezing his shoulder, a common sign of affection we’d developed.
‘I’d really like that. Tomorrow’s our day off if that works.’
I can’t help the squeal I let out as Camilo writes a response in confirmation.
“I’m going on a date.”
“You deserve this kiddo.”
~
Kyra and I agree on a dinner date at a restaurant I’d mentioned really enjoying a few months ago, that I hadn’t had a chance to visit since. I’d made the reservation, asking for the specific table I’d sat at the last time I came, and I’d already decided on what I was getting before I even hoped in the car to drive there.
I’d planned everything perfectly. The place, my outfit, what time I had to leave to arrive there 10 minutes before our agreed upon time. I hadn’t taken into account the car speeding through a red light and crashing into the car in the right lane beside me. Or the fact that due to the momentum I’d get caught between the 2 cars and the building on the corner of the street I was just about to turn down. No more than 15 metres from the restaurant but I’m trapped and the seatbelt is too tight and my head hurts. I’m crushed between my door and the centre console and all the sirens and ambulance lights approaching are too much and all I can do it cry.
If I could just reach my bag in the footwell of the passenger seat I could get my headphones to relieve some of the stimulation, but I can’t bend that way without my ribs screaming and whatever is poking my hip in my back making itself known.
I pray to every god I can name that I pass out, but no one hears as the jaws of life pry open my door. When were the other cars moved?
“Ma’am we have to cut you out. my colleague here is going to hold you up. Is that okay?” I don’t have any energy to say no, so I nod, waiting for some scissors to snip away at the seatbelt. Instead, I hear an electric saw whir to life.
“W- what’s the saw for?” my words are barely recognisable as they slur together.
“Ma’am everything is okay, just stay still for us okay?”
The sawing is over quicker than it begun, and the paramedics make an effort to move me as carefully as they can onto the stretcher, then into the ambulance. I make no move to complain about how the neck brace is itchy and feels suffocating.
A minute passes and through the newly developed ringing in my ears, I hear someone calling my name. they sound so far away but when I open my eyes again, Kyra is standing above me, next to the paramedic who’s hooking me up to monitors,
“Do you know this lady ma’am?” she asks me as I stare up at the girl I was meant to be on a date with.
“Yeah she’s my girlfriend.” A voice in the back of my head is worried that maybe that will freak Kyra out, but I know they won’t let her ride with me if we don’t have some close connection and for some reason friend does not cross my mind.
They allow her to take the extra seat beside me and she loops her pinky with mine. She keeps glancing down toward my stomach and taking deep breaths as we make our way down the streets of London. I try to see what she’s looking at but the brace doesn’t allow me to look that far down.
“You’re going to be okay.” She whispers as they roll me out of the ambulance, and she manages to quickly kiss me before I’m gone from view.
~
I don’t know how long I’m out for, but when I wake up there is a sterile white light beaming down on me and I have to instantly close my eyes. I’m quick to take note of the horrible feeling of the hospital gown I definitely wasn’t in when I’d gone under.
“Papa! She’s awake!” I let out a groan at the yell but and quick to smile once the voice registers in my head.
“Pollito.” My voice is no more than a whisper, hoarse and dry.
“Hey Angelito. How are you feeling.”
“Horrible. The light’s too bright and the gown is so itchy.” Neither Elena nor Camilo leave my side, but the light is off within seconds.
“I more meant physically. You were hit pretty hard.” The screeching of tyres, the smell of burnt rubber, the flashing lights, all rush back to me. So does the pain.
“Now that you mention it. What’s the damage?” it’s meant as a joke but I’m trying not to cry.
“3 broken ribs, 2 fractured, a torn vastus lateralis in your thigh, a lot of muscle damage in your back. It’s going to be a lot of physical therapy kiddo.” The thought has bile rising in my throat.
“Fuck me.”
“It’s okay, we’re going to be here the whole way. All of us.” By now I could know the voice in a crowd of people.
I turn my head and there she is. Kyra is sat in one of the uncomfortable hospital seats with her hand on top of mine.
“If it’s okay with you, Camilo, me and some of the arsenal girls are going to sort out a schedule to take turns helping you with PT. Viv was really hoping she could give some tips considering how long she spent doing PT.”
“That sounds perfect. But please tell me one of you has my pyjamas. I need to get out of this gown.”
~
There was no lie in how difficult rehab was. I had an hour appointment at the hospital every day and additional work at home that Milo, Kyra and some of the arsenal girls happily helped with. The hardest hurdle was amount of physical touch that was required. My physical therapist, Jordan, always made sure I knew when she needed to touch my leg or something, but that did very little to sooth the feeling that crawled beneath my skin. She was able to dim the fluorescent white lights and allowed me to wear my headphone which did help a small amount.
Kyra basically moved into my room above the shop. Milo insisted he could do all the work of getting me around the house and the shop, but we knew he couldn’t while maintaining the shop and looking after Elena. Elena tried her best to help by making me breakfast. She gathered pre-made versions of my safe breakfast food and carefully place them separately on a plate, with a glass of orange juice every morning. After the first week she realised I’d be in a wheelchair and struggling to move around much for much longer than she thought, so she quickly gave up on that idea and began making me penguin drawings at school.
I’d adapted to having Kyra around much quicker than I expected to. When I moved in at 17, it took me months to get used to the layout and the fact that I was alone, despite Camilo and Elena living in the house across the road. I adapted to Kyra’s presence within weeks.
After the second week we’d decided it was easier to share the bed rather than her sleeping on the couch, which had been the biggest change. I struggled with it the first few nights. I had a sleep routine that was already disrupted by the injuries, now I had to take another person into account. But she was so warm, and I felt so safe in her arms. Whenever I woke up from a nightmare about the crash, she grabbed me an iced tea and my headphones and would ramble about whatever interests she had recently developed or whatever was happening at training.
It was in the second month things took a more serious turn. Well serious for our relationship. I was sitting at the table chopping the vegetables for dinner while she begins cooking, when I took a minute to just look at her. The warm lighting softened her features, her quiet humming to whatever song was playing carried throughout the room, the smile that seemed to never leave her face sat perfectly on her lips as she listened to me ramble about the newly discovered yellow king penguin. She was so radiant and attentive, and she was never annoyed at me when I was overstimulated or wanted to infodump. She was seemingly unaffected by my rehab and most importantly unaffected by my autism. After a life full of negative interactions and losing people because of one thing I couldn’t control, I’d found a family and a partner who embraced me.
I didn’t realise I was crying until she turned and asked me what was wrong.
“I’m just grateful.”
“For what?”
“You, Milo, Elena. I love you all so much.” I didn’t realise I’d said it really. I was just being candid, as I always was.
“You love me?”
“Yes.” There was no hesitation even as it dawned on me.
“Well, I love you too.” There is a split second between the end of her sentence and the meeting of our lips in a kiss.
“Will you be my girlfriend?” I ask as we pull away.
“Wait- I thought- when you called me your girlfriend on the ambulance I kind of took that as you asking me to be your girlfriend.” She begins laughing.
“What? This whole time I’ve been nervous about actually asking you and you already thought I had?” I can’t help but join her laugh.
“We’re such fools.” She whispers, and we kiss again.
I'll always be a fool for her.

dog tags- b. barnes
pairings: bucky barnes x reader warnings: language? umm crimes about: rewrite!! wanted to get back into writing and i thought rewriting some of my favorite prompts would be fun, PF12 “committing crimes” + DH8 “how dumb can you be?” a/n: hello! i meant to post this like. five days ago LMAO but i started school and should be doing work right now and i came up with a false memory claiming i did, in fact post, when i, in fact, did not. anyway. here it is. i don't know how much better it is than the original but i had fun writing it, though, surprise! i still suck at endings. ummm i am thinking or rewriting more to get back into the groove and i am writing an actual new request. this got long okay thank you
"We're going to get caught."
You shoot Bucky a look, nose wrinkled. "You are so negative," you say, legs kicking as you climb over a fence. "We are not going to get caught." You watch as he leaps from the ground, metal hand grasping the top of the fence and launching his body over it cleanly. He lands crouched and stable, watching you slowly turn your body over the ledge and subsequently topple onto the ground.
"We're gonna go to jail," he sighs, bending over to hoist you onto your feet by your armpits. Your hair has leaves in it.
"Oh my god." You stumble, hands wrapping around his arms from the speed. "How the fuck do you—"
You shriek when Bucky spins you around to press your back against his chest and clamps a palm over your mouth, gentle even through the fingers keeping your lips shut. Your eyes widen cartoonishly, flailing as he manhandles you behind a shrub. You're still complaining to the best of your ability when he shushes you, directing your attention to the woman walking out of the house.
You quiet down and stare, brows furrowed. She's not supposed to be there.
It's like Bucky can read your mind, glancing at you with a sigh. You try your best to give him a look back before looking at the woman again. She has a phone pressed against her ear, lips moving angrily. Her voice upticks sharply with the end of each word she says.
You relax when you realize there isn't a chance of you getting caught, kind of wishing you had popcorn to watch her nearly trip over her heels and become even more furious, kicking at the grass. Bucky's silent enough for you to seriously doubt you'd know he was there had he not been tightly wrapped around you. You squeak at the fact, impressed. Bucky pinches your side unhelpfully.
She unlocks her car, keys tinkling harshly with her movements. Bucky finally abates when she throws her door open and sinks inside her white Jaguar, the slamming door narrowly missing her pin-straight blonde hair.
You gag, pushing his hand away. "When was the last time you washed your fucking hands? That's disgus-"
"I thought the house was empty," he interrupts, head cocked.
"I thought it was, too," you defend lamely. "She's off schedule. Maybe that's why she was so pissed. Late to her HOES meeting or whatever."
"What the hell is HOES?"
"I don't know!" you cry. "The one with the lawns."
"Are you trying to say the HOA?"
You quirk an eyebrow. "James Buchanan showing his face?"
"This is not-" He sighs your name, "I swear, if any more of your information isn't right, I'm leaving."
You make an incredulous look. "Is that supposed to be a threat? You were not invited."
"I wanted to make sure you didn't die or get sued or go to jail. Which, hey, really likely in a neighborhood that has 'HOES' meetings."
"I'm not gonna 'die' or go to 'jail,'" you insist, finger quotes up and perplexing Bucky. "I don't need your help, anyway, I'm a very capable person with a very capable plan. You just followed me. You're some guy's little brother."
"What?"
"You know. Annoying."
Bucky breathes in slow, watching you creep around the bush for a better angle of the house. He closes his eyes and counts to three, and when he opens them, you're at the porch, tiptoeing like a fuckin' cartoon character into the house and leaving the door open. Spectacular.
He sprints inside inconspicuously, head darting both ways just in case before he closes the door. When he turns, there's an alarm system set up that lazily blinks green. No disturbances. Huh. He glances at you, impressed for a very quick second when he sees you snooping in a cabinet, clueless to the huge dog growling behind you.
He stills immediately, breath slowing. He stares at you and tries his best to make you feel it, but it either goes wrong or he fails entirely when you drop a file, groaning loudly at the injustice of it. The dog twitches. Bucky's heart jumps into his throat.
You're halfway into an inelegant bend when you spot him, face breaking into a smile. Fuck, he thinks. You're pretty even when you're going insane. "Hey! You're finally here. Look at—"
He shoots you a warning look, moving his lips as little as he can. "There's a dog." He glances between it and you, thinking every move ahead to avoid a nasty bite and the failure of your stupid mission.
"Oh my god, Brutus?" You spin too fast, startling the dog both from with your movements and apparent knowledge of his name. 'Brutus' makes a noise between a growl and a whine. You gasp, a palm pressing against your lips. "Brutus, I thought they retired you!"
You drop down to your knees, opening your arms wide. Brutus stares at you for a second, inching closer to sniff you apprehensively. Then, his ears tuck and he whimpers, tail tucked and wagging gently as he walks closer to you.
"You... know the dog."
"Yes, I know the dog," you start, voice careening into a higher, softer pitch as you rub the pads of your fingers behind Brutus' ears. "Brutus has been the guard dog here for two years. I fostered her for a little while until she was adopted but I kept in touch." Brutus licks your cheek, making you squeal. "Her name was originally Poppy but they wanted a scary name." You roll your eyes.
Bucky shoots you a look.
"I sort of spied on them for a few months to make sure she was doing well," you rub her ear, "and she was, yes she was," you baby-talk. "Her owners have shit values but they really spoil their dogs."
"Wow. Okay. One question—the people we are stealing from know you?"
"Yeah, they have my number."
Bucky pinches the skin between his brows.
"Good girl, Poppy, protecting the house from evil intruders," you coo.
Bucky looks at the clock and then you, slowly lowering yourself further to pet Brutus-Poppy. He nudges you with his foot. Poppy growls at him. "Hey. Fellow evil intruder. She's gonna be back at some point."
"Not for another hour at least. Nat's in charge of the distraction." Still, you press a loud kiss to Poppy's head and stand.
"I'm an overachiever. Let's leave ample time."
"Fine," you say loudly, arms swinging petulantly at your side. "I'll make it quick. You're such a bore."
"Yeah, yeah. What are we looking for anyway?"
You use a pencil to look between books and couch cushions, humming distractedly. "Don't you worry your pretty little head about it, Buck." You wink.
Bucky's cheeks pink against his will, shaking it off as quickly as he can as he watches you look around. You pause in the middle of the room, do a full spin, and sigh. "Not here."
Bucky frowns but trails after you into another room, Poppy close behind. You open the door grandiosely to a giant room. "Wow."
"Okay, I know what you said, but you kind of need to tell me so I can help you find it," he says. You ignore him, striding toward a desk and pulling open a drawer. He says your name exasperatedly. You observe a notebook, shaking it vigorously before tossing it over your shoulder. Other items follow in quick succession, which he catches amidst his frustration. "What are you—you're going to break something—" He catches a crystal ball.
"I'm not, I know what I'm doing," you insist. "You are so pessimistic. Have faith." You dig in a little further before grumbling, rising to your feet and kicking a chair down. "I'm going to look in another room," you say and take off, leaving Bucky with an armful of miscellaneous objects to put back. He screws his eyes shut and counts to three.
You walk down the hallway quickly, peeking into the rooms until you find what you're looking for. Three doors in, you stop, scanning the walls until you find a hideous painting hung up next to a dusty bookshelf. You make a triumphant noise and stride toward it, running your fingers along the frame until you find the indentations of a security panel.
"Aha! And, if I remember correctly..." You enter 1234 and the painting swings open to reveal a safe. "Losers."
You count silently as you unlock the safe, laughing in triumph when you beat Natasha's record. Keeping the door open with an outstretched finger, you contort to find a pen, holding the cap between your teeth as you scrawl your time on the inside of your wrist, giggling in the anticipation of letting her know.
You turn your attention back to the safe after you've written a few wobbly exclamation points, rifling around until you find what you're looking for. Your fingers dig through a dark box filled with stolen valuables, a grin on your face when your fingers get tangled in the one you're looking for, eyebrows jumping in satisfaction as you tuck it safely into your pocket. You stick your head in the safe again, searching for something shiny to throw in Sam's face when Bucky bursts in.
"Oh, hey, do you think Sam would—"
"They're here."
Cursing, you shove everything into place, closing the safe and carefully moving the picture back. You step back and grimace. "God, that's ugly."
He says your name urgently, wrapping his hand around your wrist and dragging you away, throwing you over his shoulder when you keep lagging behind. You squeak, clamping your mouth shut when Bucky squeezes your thigh in warning.
He dumps you out of an open window and into a bush, rolling himself out onto cropped grass. "Okay, I think that was unnecessary," you mumble, crawling out next to him. There are lines of bubbling red all over your skin from what was apparently a rose bush.
"We have to hurry before the gate closes," he huffs, lifting the both of you up with ease and hurrying to the slimming entrance. You squeeze out unseen and stop at the beginning of the blind spot you came in through. Bucky's huffing when he puts you down.
"What's wrong? I thought you had super high stamina or something," you tease, poking at his shoulder. Bucky glares at you. You laugh and reach for his hand, beckoning him enticingly with your fingers. He appeases you suspiciously, capturing your hand in his. He squeezes and rubs a soft line up and down near your thumb.
"Let's go home," you say.
Bucky blinks. "What?"
"Let's go home. I'm hungry. And I kind of want to take a nap. Can we stop by and pick up some ramen?" You tug at his arm gently, beginning the trek to Bucky's bike down the path without surveillance. "Breaking and entering really wears me out," you say to his furrowed brows.
"Don't forget robbery," he muses.
"Right. Breaking, entering, and robbery really wears me out," you say with a laugh. You turn to him and grin, eyes sparkling.
Bucky stops, staying in place when you pull at him and whine. "What was it?"
You cock your head.
"What did you want to steal so badly?"
You chew on the inside of your cheek, looking at him thoughtfully. "I'll tell you if you give me a piggyback ride," you proffer, wagging your brows.
Bucky rolls his eyes but crouches down, holding onto your index finger as you climb onto his back.
He readjusts you as he stands to full height, wrists twisting under your knees and holding your calves tight but kindly. You hum, one arm falling over his chest and the other dipping into your pocket, unzipping it and taking out the chain. You wrap it around your fingers delicately and rest your chin on his head, looking at it dangling from your hands.
Bucky begins to walk. "So?"
Your thumb draws wonky hearts on Bucky's chest, tracing the letters on the tags with your other one. "Do you remember how disappointed you were when you came back and your dog tags had been auctioned off? It was the one thing you couldn't get back because it wasn't in that museum." You feel Bucky nod. "Well, I've been looking for them," you confess, pursing your lips. "I didn't want to tell you because you'd tell me to stop and that it didn't matter but I know it did—I know it does.
"A few months ago, I found out who bought them and I tried to buy them back, but these assholes wouldn't budge no matter how much I offered—or anyone, I impersonated a lot of people. I think they just wanted to keep them because other people wanted them. And the things they said about you..." You shake your head, feeling yourself going hot with anger.
Bucky squeezes your leg, muttering your name.
You stop yourself, letting your face slant so your cheek rests on his hair. He smells sweet like your shampoo. Fucker. "So, anyway, I did the obvious thing: I tracked them down and broke into their house to get it back. It's not like the tags are theirs, anyway."
Bucky stops abruptly, jolting you. You yelp, complaining as he puts you down and stares at you.
"You did—this was to get my dog tags?"
You look back at him. "Yes? I didn't—"
He cuts you off, pulling you into a hug so tight, you cough. Your arms hang limply in surprise for a second before they come up to reciprocate, a dazed but still eager arm rubbing the line of his shoulder blade. Bucky hugs you a little tighter. "Thank you," he murmurs. "I don't think anyone... I don't know many people that would do that for me."
"Oh," you say, blinking fast. "I—of course I would. I love you, Bucky, you... I would do anything for you."
"Fuck," he says wetly, pulling away to hold your face in both hands. He smiles at you. One of those real ones that crinkle his eyes. "You're—fuck—"
You laugh, his hands falling away to your shoulders.
"I'm sorry you didn't get them back after you went through all that trouble."
You tilt your head. "What do you mean? You think I didn't get them?" You raise your hand to his view, dog tags dangling. "Your faith in me is shocking."
Bucky grabs the tags and you let them go easily, watching his hands turning them around slowly, index running along his name. JAMES B. BARNES. Then, two lines down, R. BARNES. "I can't believe you did this for me," he says softly.
You smile. "Well, believe it, baby," you tell him, gently teasing. Your wring your hands together. "Of course I did," you say, quieter.
When he looks back up at you, his eyes are shiny. "Thank you." He glances down at them once more and splits the chain with a finger to pull it on your neck. "Hold on to them for me?"
You pause. "Bucky..."
"Just until we get to the compound. You'll keep it safe for me."
You keep it safe for much longer than that.

I saw you take requests? Would it be alright to ask for Four?? I‘m thinking either something similar to the heat cycle you did with Hyrule, but with the minish instead of fae? Or maybe a fivesome with the colours?? If none of those spark inspiration, it‘s alright if you do something else, tho!
Okay, this is such a brilliant request because DAMN, I completely forgot Four was part minish, so this'll be fun!
Update after 5 hours of writing: yeah, so this is going to be a small-form fic. I'll put the first chapter here and have the other ones ready in separate posts. I can't thank you enough for this request, It's utterly amazing :)

Burning Love
Pairing: Four x Reader
Warning(s): None for this chapter, but the theme of this story is explicit (which means I'll tag all chapters as smut), so please don't read unless you are 18+!

Four was not okay.
He had woken to a perfect, cloudless day--with just enough of a breeze to make the approaching summer heat tolerable--with the appalling urge to do... absolutely nothing!
Four liked to think he was one of the more responsible Links in the chain, not that he would ever say it, so it was starting when he awoke, groaning, and immediately rolled back over to sleep. It didn't help that Wind chose that exact moment to yell some ineligible sentence to him, fraying Four's already frazzled nerves. Hylia, if he hadn't been so damn tired, he might have given the Sailor a piece of his mind about common decency.
"Four!" the hero of the seas tried again--t wasn't like Wind to be this loud, Four thought disgruntledly, sealing his hands over his aching ears–while following with a significantly quieter: "Why isn't he up yet?"
"Leave me alone," Four hissed into his bedroll without any real heat. Speaking of heat, when had it gotten so damn hot? He could have sworn the temperature was at least a few degrees cooler when he woke up.
There was more concerned whispering as the other heroes began to take notice of his predicament, Twilight and Warriors looking especially perturbed. Four buried his face in the bedroll when Time cocked an eyebrow in his direction, beginning his heavy approach. Four could feel the exact moment Time sidled up to him, swatting lightly at the hand that fell upon his head. "Four? Are you alright?"
"Mmmph," was Four's eloquent response, only replaced by a surprised gasp when Time's fingers caught his hair in a stern grip, pulling his face up. "What–"
Time placed his free hand on the smaller hero's forehead. "You feel warm," he stated plainly.
"Who feels warm?" A new voice joined the fray and Four wanted to scream. It was you, because of course it was, already dressed in your adventuring clothes, hair slightly damn from what he assumed had been a recent bath in the nearby river. Your eyes narrowed in concern as you took in the sight before you. "Oh no, is he sick?"
"Very well could be," Legend answered, pinning Four with a gaze that had him gritting his teeth. "No offense, but you look terrible."
"Everything you say is an offense," Four muttered, hissing when Time gently smacked him upside the head with a quiet 'behave yourself'.
Four stilled when you approached, laying a cool hand on his burning forehead, eliciting an actual shiver from him. "You've definitely got a fever," you stood, clicking your tongue in sympathy and cocking a delicious hip. "Don't worry, I've got some herbs in my pack with your name on them!" and you were gone from his sight, presumably to rife through your medicine bag,
Dumbstruck, Four lay prone, baffled by the reaction his body had from a simple touch. Maybe there was something wrong with him, because there was no reasonable expiation to the spikes of heat coursing through his veins. The voices typically bouncing raucously around his head were eerily quiet... until you returned with a wooden cup full of sloshing green liquid. It was almost embarrassing how quickly his mouth opened when you came within reach, offering the drink. Four downed it without a second thought, only pausing to take cough when the bitter flavor invaded his mouth.
"Gross, isn't it?" he could have died when you patted his back comfortingly, retrieving the now empty cup. "I appreciate the lack of fight," you joked, sending a short glance to Wind and Legend, who immediately began to defend their honor.
"H-Hey, it's not my fault you make it taste disgusting!"
"But (Y/nnnnnnn)–"
"Butts are for sitting," you interjected, turning your head in Time's direction. "Is there a town nearby we can take him to?"
The oldest hero put a hand on his chin, humming lowly. "Castle Town is a day's walk from here, if we start in an hour, we should be able to make it by sundown."
You nodded, patting Four one last time before rising to your full height, casting a shadow over grounded hero. it was almost embarrassing how quickly his eyes snapped to your strong legs, traveling up to scope out your frankly enchanting hips, which would be perfect for carrying his children–
Smack!
You jumped when Four slammed his head back down on the bedroll, already bending down to examine the fallen hero. "What in the–"
–Only to be pulled back by a slightly-scowling Twilight. "Is there anything else we can get for a fever?"
"I–" you glanced at Four, then the hand wrapped around your wrist, with a worried expression. "I saw some willow trees a few minutes from here."
"I'll get it with you," said Hyrule, who had been on the outskirts of the concerned circle formed around Four's bedroll. While his magic could heal physical ailments, it wasn't nearly as effective with colds and infections–that was why they had you, a retired field medic from Warrior's Hyrule that had fallen through a similar portal a few months ago.
"Alright," you gestured for Hyrule to follow you as soon as Twilight released his grip. As the two of your retreated into the grove, Four allowed himself to relax, mind still spinning with thoughts unknown to even him.

Camp was packed by the time you and Hyrule returned, burdened with nearly a pound of willow bark between the two of you. You found yourself immediately searching for Four, because, while you would never admit it out loud, Legend's assessment of the shorter hero's physical state was quite accurate. You'd known something was amiss as soon as you glimpsed the heady flush practically overtaking his face, not to mention the distinct blurriness of his pupils, which had blown considerably as your interaction progressed.
It wasn't like Four to be so... uncoordinated, and you were genuinely worried that there was more going on than met the eye. You'd seen more than your fair share of sickness and death, so you were going to be damned if you let one of your dearest friends suffer the same fate as those unlucky souls during the war.
Your heart jumped when you found him sitting atop Epona, arms wrapped loosely around her sturdy neck, eyes closed and hairband half-heartedly tied to his forehead. Twilight stood close by, reins in one hand while the other cheerfully waved you over. You approached quickly, already fiddling with the willow bark in your satchel. "How is he?"
"He'll be fine," the rancher grunted, "Hylia knows we have our own troubles ta' work through."
You nodded slowly. "I wish I knew how this could have happened... and it's strange that no one else is feeling unwell."
Twilight sighed, laying a hand on your shoulder. "Don't worry your head about it, darlin'. He'll find ya in time."
"Thanks, Twi," you smiled softly. "I needed that."
A grin broke through his unusually stoic expression. "Anytime, darl', ya know we're here for you."
"Same here," you peeked over his shoulder to study a snoozing Four. "Do you think it was those mushrooms from two nights ago, those were nasty."
Twilight hummed. "I ain't sure about that, Wolfie wouldn't have brought it if 'e didn't think it was safe."
You tapped your chin. "True, but what if it only affects Hylians, like those berries Wild tried to eat back in Legend's Hyrule?"
A short left Twilight's mouth at the memory of a berry-drunk Wild declaring war on bananas, he rocked back against Epona's shoulder, causing the horse to nicker softly and bump her nose against his chest. "Ya could be on to something, but he ain't drunk."
"Obviously," you rolled your eyes before finding yourself studying Four once more. "I'll take your word for it, though. Hyrule and I got enough willow to last anyone through a lifetime."
"Atta girl," Twilight clapped your shoulder, and you laughed together, only stopping when Warrior's called your name from the other side of camp. "Don't worry, I'll take care'a him."
You tipped an invisible hat. "You're the best, Twi!"
You turned on your heel to see what madness Wars had gotten himself into, not noticing Four's narrowed glare from atop Epona, irises swirling in a dizzying kaleidoscope of color.

The journey to Castle Town was a long one. You walked with Warriors and Hyrule, just before Twilight and Four in case one of them needed something. The only stops made were for Epona or the bathroom, which you had no complaints toward; your friend was sick and you knew bedrest was the best cure was illnesses like his.
"You don't think it's contagious, do you?" Warriors asked between chews of the lynel jerky Wild blessed everyone with a few minutes ago.
"I don't think so..." you trailed off, taking a bite of your own jerky. "Someone would have already gotten sick if it was."
"I agree," Hyrule joined in, tone strangely knowing. The traveller caught your curious gaze, quickly amending: "...That doesn't make it any less worrying."
...Why did you feel like he knew something? Hyrule was a healer, so you wouldn't be surprised, but it was strange that he wasn't coming forth about it. "I'm especially worried about the fever, it means he's fighting something."
"You think?"
"I do," you hummed, resisting the urge to look behind you. "I asked Twilight if it was those mushrooms, but he's not sure."
Warrior blanched with a muttered: "Don't remind me..."
You and Hyrule chuckled simultaneously, just as Wind chimed: "those were gross!" from the front.
The sky was high in the sky by the time you came across a raging river, the only thing across it being a rickety bridge that had even you cringing.
"Just look at that," Hyrule whispered to you and Warriors. "I've seen better bridges built by children."
Time stopped just before the first plank, holding up an armored hand, just as Legend interjected, eyes narrowed in disgust at the 'architecture', if it could even be called that.
"We are not crossing that."
"I didn't say we were," Time replied evenly. "There is another bridge to the south, but it will take an additional few hours to reach."
"Wait," all eyes turned to you. "Will we still be able to get to town in time?"
"No," Time said slowly. "There's a gorge near the town that can't be crossed in the dark."
Well, that wouldn't do. You gestured to the bridge. "Can we cross it if we go once at a time?"
Time's expression turned contemplative... until a small smile broke through the fog and you knew you were on to something. "I believe we've found ourselves a solution."

Get read for some slow burn, y'all.
