Hot take apparently but don't harass Palestinian Americans about voting. Don't message them about it, don't send them asks, don't post about how they need to be voting blue.

But listen: Palestinian Americans don't owe us ANYTHING. We're the ones who owe them - more than can be imagined. That debt goes one way.

The United States is an extremely active participant in the genocide of their people. They are having to watch their friends, families, and homeland destroyed every day, thanks in massive part to the US government.

They get to feel however they want to about voting. They get to vote or not vote however they want to.

I am determined to never condescend to Palestinians about how they should feel or what they should do in regard to the US government, and I encourage you to join me in not having the audacity to look someone in the face or askbox and say "Hey, I know my country is slaughtering your people, but you need to help my country out anyway."

Take that energy and go organize with Swing Left or write postcards encouraging people to vote (studies show this to be surprisingly effective x, x) or make phone calls or knock on doors. That's what we need more of.

Hi, everyone! This is @sapphic-agent speaking! I went ahead and made the new blog just to have it set up. I won't be active on it for a while- at least not until I either finish the anime or read the manga- but when I am it will be mostly bouncing ideas around, discussing what went wrong in canon, giving shunned characters real arcs, and fixing character arcs that were lacking in canon.

As I said before, this isn't a full fledged rewrite. I don't think I have the time or the energy to commit to that. If I feel inspired, I may write little excerpts here and there. But other than that, this blog will primarily be discussion-based. Unlike my main blog, this one will be a little more serious. While I still won't treat characters like Bakugou, Aizawa, and Endeavor kindly, this blog won't be me just mindlessly bashing them. I do that enough on my main🤷🏾‍♀️

Rules

Be Civil: Don't be dicks to each other. I almost never see that from the people who frequent these tags, but this is just to make sure. No racism, homophobia, misogyny, transphobia, etc. No insults or threats or harassment. And please, no holier-than-thou attitudes. Everyone interprets the story differently and that's okay. Don't assume you know better because your opinion is different. The point of this blog is to be open to everyone's perspective. Just keep the discussions friendly, okay?

Be Constructive: I don't mind what you say about the fictional characters/plot/Horikoshi in the tags or reblogs, but I do ask that you keep the asks rewrite related. This is to a) keep the blog focused on one topic and b) keep my ask box from getting flooded. Questions are fine as long as they pertain to the rewrite.

Be Patient: I would like to go through every arc one by one. So if we're on the Sports Festival, it doesn't make sense to suddenly jump to the Shie Hassaikai, you know? It helps me keep things organized here

Hi, it's me who said riding a horse is just being on a horse. I wrote it based on my own experience of riding over a dozen different horses throughout my life. I've never felt like it was a skill; it was something that felt natural. But I see I was mistaken and ended up deleting my revlog. Sorry for sounding ignorant

oh hey no it's all good, please don't feel bad about it! I think there's a lot of room for interpretation in the question itself, and honestly my assumption is just that people are mostly interpreting the difference between "can't ride a bike" and "can't ride a horse" to be that the former means you can't be on a bike while it is moving, end of. whereas theoretically, under very ideal conditions, someone with no experience or instruction could sit on a horse while it walks without falling off. which technically is true, and that's fine. lol.

I'm poking fun at the tags and stuff with extremely lighthearted intentions. I've taught a lot of young kids through their first ever time on a horse, and a lot of them have the same idea about it in a much more real way than that. it's funny to me, but I get where it comes from, and I know that anyone with that mentality who is placed in a real situation will not hold onto it for long. it's not even really a dangerous way to think on it's own (given most people aren't super committed to it), and as long as folks aren't dicks to anyone else about it, it's not hurting anyone 🤷‍♂️

I think some people are getting carried away in the notes of my post & I'm not a fan of where some people are going with it- I've seen some "I'm gonna put you in an extremely dangerous situation on purpose!! see how easy it is then!" comments that I think are really missing the spirit of the post, but that's on me for leaning into humor over compassion. just to say that it's meant to be in good fun, and I'm not faultless for keeping it that way either.

Editing to add, for the sake of clarity: there's no way of knowing what someone means when they say something as vague as "riding a horse is just being on a horse", and while I used that as an example of an extreme version of a mentality I wanted to poke fun at, I personally am also doing that with the knowledge that I'm very likely misinterpreting it, and I'm making like that choice entirely because I can do it without putting the person who actually said the thing on blast. I know that can still suck to see, though, and I'm sorry- if I'd guessed it would have been recognizable enough to make you feel insecure if you came across my post, I wouldn't have included it. I'm sorry about that.

the tragically ignored cinematic potential of a mid 20-something Bruce Wayne, freshly Batman, walking around Gotham trembling like a wet chihuahua and with an absolute death wish, convinced he never can nor will get close to another human being again (like everyone's 20s tbh)--

going to the circus one evening and seeing a child orphaned in front of him and having a very public traumatic meltdown and kidnapping said child from the scene and then adopting him, no logic just a driving need to help where he was failed as a kid

and Bruce doesn't know how to be a parent, he barely knew how to be a kid. but he remembers what it was like, and does everything he can to make it easier for Dick. Spends time with him, gives him comfort and safety and a place to grieve and tries to help Dick find a purpose in the only way Bruce knows how.

Bruce wanted to stop the kid from turning out like him. and that should have been it

but Dick laughs at him and gives dumb names to all of Bruce's stuff and hangs upsidedown from the chandelier and talks to Bruce all the time and is alive and breathing and growing in that old, empty house and it reminds Bruce that he, too, is still alive and breathing and growing. despite everything.

and Bruce saves Dick and Dick saves Bruce and it's the greatest Batman movie anyone has ever seen because what's better than a good but deeply unhappy man learning to love again via a child who needs him??

I honestly love the headcanon that Tim professional-only-child/baby-of-the-family Drake knows next to nothing about kids and is totally unable to differentiate between league brainswashing and normal jerk kid behavior when it comes to Damian

ADHD tip for "put it down without thinking/no object permanence" disease:

if youve misplaced a small handheld object, walk around your house or apartment and act like it's in your hand (hold your hand like you would holding your phone or keys for example). as you go around, watch where your hands naturally drift as you turn corners, walk past bookcases, etc.

9 times out of 10 you'll find your phone or keys or whatever sitting there. goood luck ily

I notice you don't have a Damian tag yet going through your posts You have more posts that are about him than Dick or any other of the batkids not named Tim? You claim to be a Tim Blog but i find it disingenuous that you have nearly as many posts about Damian as you do Tim and most of them are you being negative or making errors. If you were genuine you would have a Damian tag instead of hiding your negative content like a coward. It's okay not to like a character but be truthful.

You gave me three asks that are entirely filled on the kind of petty bias that you continued to imply that I have in all three of the asks.

If you think I’m a coward for not wanting to offend Damian fans with my opinions that are negative based on the bad writing the character has suffered,

then quite honestly, I don’t really have anything to say about it.

I can really only say the fact I got told not to tag him in those types of posts, because people in the Damian tag didn’t appreciate it (with understanding reason), and how it was also because the Damian fan base is the only fan base I ever got nasty sounding asks continuously for criticizing his writing. Even in posts where I criticize the writing for all of the Bat-Family members, or at least the male Robins, Damian’s fan base was the only one I ever got nasty asks from. So I learned through experience it wasn’t a good idea to tag him in those posts.

I presume a lot of them assume I hate him worse then what I actually say because I’m a Tim fan and Tim fan-blog, that seems to be the same case for you going off of how you word yourself as well.

Which I typically find a bit odd seeing how in a few of those very same posts (like the latest one I’m assuming you’re upset at me for) I talk about how he was actually one of my favorite characters when I was first getting into the comics, and don’t actually talk any ill-intended speech towards the character.

I only criticize the writing the character has been dealt much the same I did Tim through-out Detective Comics Rebirth.

I am in no way a hypocrite if that’s what you’re believing.

My blog got popular for openly criticizing how so many different writers had difficulty writing Tim in the same away I just did it for Damian.

and only once did I ever get shit from a person for making many posts about how I couldn’t stand Tim’s writing in Detective Comics Rebirth, while also using a much more exaggerated way of speaking because it meant a lot more to me, and that one person is some one who became my friend literally by the end of the day because even though we didn’t agree on anything, I thought they were a really cool person to talk to.

But you don’t seem like that kind of person, you seem like a person that couldn’t read the full posts, and if you did, could only read them through a veil of “Oh another Tim fan hates Damian” without actually paying attention to how I spoke about him, how I said he had potential and how I enjoyed his initial character development, and that I’m only upset that they kept dropping the ball with him.

Like how I complained about Tim in Rebirth, Tim Drake, my favorite character, and blog theme.

I don’t talk about how Damian is a bad character or how I hate him.

I talk about how it upsets me writers continuously can’t write him well.

Like how I do Tim.

So again, don’t imply I’m a hypocrite.

In your second ask you talk about how Tim should’ve trusted Damian because he saved him from Jason when Jason tried to kill him, and how Tim fans are the only ones that can’t see how he was a jackass to Damian. 

I’m gonna have to assume you used this wording because of how I worded Tomasi’s out of character writing for Tim, as making Tim a jackass just for the sake of making Damian more likable and sympathetic.

I meant saying jackass by how Tomasi wrote Tim to be rude-via-the-mouth to Damian for no good reason, and I considered it out of character because Tim was never like that before. Previously Tim’s behavior towards Damian was untrusting, even in some situations to the point of it being a flaw, much like that time he tackled Damian because Tim believed he was hurting Alfred, something spawned from how Damian previously locked Alfred in a closest.

You don’t seem to recognize that Damian tried to murder Tim, how he belittled Tim, and how he tried to take his adopted dad away from him because he wanted that spot though.

Even how after he saved Tim: Damian belittled Tim some more as Tim was having a mental breakdown.

Counting the score, Tim has more reasons to not trust him then to actually trust him.

Which only got proved more with how Damian reacted when he found out Tim didn’t trust him. By assaulting him and nearly killing him by cutting his zip-line. (Although you could argue if you wanted too that he knew Tim could land well enough to survive, I personally don’t hold an opinion on it because it’s hard to tell, but I’m going to assume he wasn’t going to kill him, or else the whole issue would have even more bad writing in it)

My point is that it was horrendous writing to pretend like Damian couldn’t recognize why Tim didn’t trust him. Especially when he’s on a list (from what I heard) with Superman.

You criticize me for not bringing up Damian saving Tim, but you continue to ignore quite a lot of the things I said in the actual post I’m assuming you’re mad at.

Don’t be a hypocrite, especially when you’re trying to imply I am one.

If I wanted too, I could right now say “Damian fans are the always the ones that are so biased that they can’t realize Damian has continuously done horrendous and creepy stuff like make fun of Stephanie’s boobs and assaulting Tim, and even later Jason”, and going off of your asks (I won’t say you, because I’m assuming I don’t know you),

I think it would apply to your asks.

But I’m smart enough to know not every Damian fan is like that, so don’t claim otherwise. Every fan base has it’s toxic wasteland, but don’t try to lump me into Tim’s toxic wasteland because I don’t agree with you. You’re only making it seem like you’re apart of the Damian toxic wasteland with your behavior.

The third ask keeps going on talking about how they personally find no personal problem with characters calling Damian cute, purely because the asker finds Damian cute themselves.

Think about it though, why would they find Damian cute?

He’s violent, mean-spirited, has attacked both Tim and Jason, Dick has witnessed this, has a prison that Jason is aware of, made sexual comments towards Stephanie, and presents himself in a way where he thinks he’s better than everyone and demands respect.

That’s not cute, and that’s how his character was built up to be (not the prison, that’s a recent thing), and so far has continued to be the majority of those things.

He’s not a cute character.

To portray a character like that as cute is disingenuous (stealing the word you used, because I liked it) and piss poor writing because it’s ignoring the obvious reality. It just gets even worse because Damian wasn’t originally ever portrayed as a cute character, it’s something writers later on did because they couldn’t be bothered to write him well. Dropping the ball down the stairs with his character, and letting his character down.

Some artists might draw him cute because they aren’t aware of how a 13 year old looks, or could even keep consistent with how he looked for so long (even some of the ones that’s drawn him before began to draw him differently because they stopped being able to bother or whichever reason they have), and even some writers might write him cute, but if you’re going to bring that up to me, than I genuinely don’t think you read my full post, only furthered by how you’re trying to imply I’m a hypocrite by how I think 90s Tim was cute and tiny (something the asker did in their third ask).

The difference is pretty much the whole point in the grand majority of my posts were I’m critical about any writer on any character: they changed the character, because either they were too lazy, or too un-knowledgeable about who they were writing, and it’s bad writing to do so, since it’s inconsistency.

If you were watching a TV show and all of a sudden they treated a mean-spirited character, who continuously treats the majority of characters like crap, and continues to struggle with not acting on the instincts they was raised to have, as if that was cute when they haven’t done that before, and none of the characters have a reason to call him cute out of no where, it would be considered bad writing, articles would be written about it, and fans would be ticked off about it.

I’m pretty sure the comics only get away with it because it’s comics, and no one really cares about comics anymore to talk about it. I’m just pointing out the bad writing I continuously see on my blog were I talk about comics because I care and I heavily enjoy the medium of comics.

If it bugs you that I do that, you honestly shouldn’t be on my blog, and I’m a little confused how you got here since you seem aware I’ve brought up Damian’s bad writing before.

and if you want me to explain why I freely call Tim tiny, it’s because he is, and that’s been a main-stay of his character since the very beginning, and only changes with bad artists. Meaning that’s how he’s always been (ignoring the bad artists again), so there’s no bad writing involved with it, it’s actually bad work to ignore that. So it doesn’t fall into any bad or lazy writing like with Damian. It’s simply just not the same thing. If anything it’s the exact opposite if you want to compare those two things, like you seem zealous to do.

If you failed to recognize my logic, I’m going to have to assume again that you haven’t read or at least paid attention to things I’ve said, or how I generally try to conduct my points on my posts.

Continuously throughout your three asks you try to make points that make no sense.

The main reason I haven’t just blocked you and deleted your asks is because I get the vibe that you aren’t typically a very mean-spirited person, you’re just impulsive and passionate towards a character, and that is fine, but it’s when when you try to put down what someone else has said, when you seem like you haven’t even read the full thing, or have at least tried to fully pay attention to it, that it becomes toxic behavior, and something I have a problem with.

I believe it was just yesterday I got an ask were someone was complaining about the same kind of person that you presented yourself to be to me. So maybe this whole time this was only a joke to get under my skin because someone read that ask and my response and decided to pull a prank.

You may be a child, and so because of how you speak in the asks, mainly the latter two, I chose to just describe them instead of show them because I’m gonna take it that after some years you might look back on this and how weirdly aggressive you were towards people, and be glad that I didn’t show the ones were you try your dang best to point stuff out about me like it’s honest and true, and like you did your research about me, when quite frankly it’s not and you haven’t, even if you were trying to gaslight me, and use some straw man arguments to provoke me.

Also since you may be a child, a lot of Damian fans are since he’s Robin and the most recent one, I’m going to let you know that I’m honestly not mad at you for the asks, just confused, and that I wish you well and hope that I didn’t make you so mad that you’ve been thinking about it all day.

I’m just being critical of a character who I’m disappointed hasn’t had good writing consistently for years.

I’m not attempting to make the character come off like they’ve been bad since the beginning.

I’m really glad Victor Alvarez’s character exists because it’s really hard to find a character with an addiction problem who isn’t a total victim but isn’t totally at fault either? I don’t know how to explain it but usually we either have to feel bad for them because it’s “not their fault” or they’re complete assholes and from my experience it’s not one or the other. Obviously people don’t mean to become alcoholics and it’s really hard to get sober and keep on being sober and not give up, but it’s still their responsability to choose to do that. If they don’t want to get help, there’s nothing you can do no matter how much you love them and I’m so glad they talked about that. I’m so glad no one told Penelope she should’ve stayed because she loved him because that’s not how it works. She had to keep her kids safe and she couldn’t stay!  (Really she wouldn’t have helped him by staying  because nobody can be of any help until the person with the addiction decides to get help) She took the healthy decision and there was no guilt-tripping from anyone(I know Lydia wanted them back together but she clearly didn’t know what had happened) and then he came back and he seemed all better and she loved him so she was going to get with him but then it turned out he was not and he was still not getting help so she broke it off and got him out of the house! She did that and it hurt her to do so but it was the right choice and idk I’m rambling I’m just so happy that they dealt with it so well. He’s still their dad and he might get better someday and get over his stupid prejudices, we don’t know, but right up until he did that major dick move he loves his kids and Penelope and they love him, they just need to be apart. 

Also there’s Schneider who’s been sober for years and I think Jill said he had gone through the same thing? (I might be wrong maybe she just said she went through divorce I’m not sure). And they are really important too because I don’t think there are a lot of recovered alcoholics in media either, usually they start getting better and go to a meeting and it’s never mentioned again. But they mention it in this and I really loved that too.

I can’t believe I’m saying this. No wait, I can’t believe I feel the need to get this off my chest. Yeah, that’s more like it. I’m on Tumblr for years now with a few breaks then and there. When I created this blog, I decided to continue to stay out of any kind of drama involving a disagreement on ships/characters. I don’t care who you ship or who you like if you don’t shove it down my throat or tell me ‘X is better than Y’, and even that I was ready to ignore.

Recently, I read something that made me change my mind. So, I’m going to say it and be done with it. 

After posting a certain gifset relating to characters I do not ship romantically personally (but I do enjoy their dynamic), I've received a few messages anonymously. They may or may not have been from the same person. I read them, ignored and deleted them because, again, I don't wanna start anything. That's why I'm not going to mention the ship. It doesn't matter either way because this is a general observation.

Who I ship is pretty obvious the moment you visit my blog. So, if you think it's okay to send me messages like 'I don't know why you waste your time on steo when you should write Ship X/when Ship X is better', then I've got news for you, buddy, it's not okay. Frankly, I think that’s a dick move. And that goes for everyone who thinks it’s okay to crawl into a content creator's messages/to comment on their works only to tell them that another ship is superior to the one they enjoy.

I repeat: it’s not okay. It’s rude. It’s disrespectful. And it’s easy to avoid. Do not go into the tags of the ship/character you don’t like. Do not comment on gifs/fanfiction/any sort of artwork if the only thing you have to say is ‘Ship/Character X is better than the ship/character you spent hours creating something for’.

Seriously. Go get some common sense. People spend their free time on their fanworks. They put their heart into their creations. Don’t be a dick. The only thing you gain is hatred for your fandom.

Ok so this is going to be long bc the whole “Don’t like it? Ignore it.” shtick has annoyed and frustrated me for months and I’m just going to vent it out now. I’m sorry anon if this comes off as angry bc it’s not directed at you, but again, this has bothered me for months now and I feel like more people are just going to say this until I put all this out there.

Also if this ends up in the main tag bc tumblr is a broken website: I don’t care what any of you nasties think and I don’t want to interact with you, so why don’t you all help me ignore it by blocking me and moving on.

TLDR tho: Ki////ing Sta///king makes me extremely uncomfortable and seeing people support it and the abuse in it scares me. I’d love more than anything to be able to ignore it and pretend it doesn’t exist, but because of its popularity, it is impossible to avoid unless I completely change my life. So because I have to be exposed to it against my will, I’m going to grit my teeth and express discomfort with vent posts on the internet and involve myself with people who also dislike it.

If I were to try and ignore it tho, I would pretty much have to delete all social media and avoid most of the internet.  Tumblr has recommended blogs about it to me, the main tag trends when it updates, i’ve gone into tags completely unrelated to the manhwa and seen crossover stuff, when it came out I had to unfollow 15 people who posted it, just a week ago someone who posted it followed me (despite me having it in my byf to not follow me if you enjoy it), people have interacted with my posts with icons of the characters, and so on and so forth.  As far as I remember I’ve only directly gone looking at the main fandom/character tags on tumblr/instagram about 6 or 7 times since it became popular.  One was when I first heard about it and was looking through the tag to see wtf it was. 2 or 3 were because I got into such a distressed state that I was trying to block as many people who supported it as I could so that they would never interact with me. 1 or 2 were to actually know what was going on to have an informed opinion. And the last one was bc y00bum-in//drag was saying that no one said anything like my vent post so I searched keywords to get screenshots. Beside that the only time I willingly look at it is also if someone’s blog pops up on a post on my dash who is a fan I might look at it for a moment because it’s already there in my face.

I really don’t actively look for that shit tbh it’s more it finds me. And the same goes for instagram and facebook and even I think I saw someone with a character dragon/icon on flight rising??? And uhh instagram allows you to block zero tags so guess how many times it’s come up there with cosplayers (and guess how many had self harm sfx makeup that freaked me out :) ) I’ve also had people message me/my friends about cosplay advice and commissions and saw posts about it on their blogs. 

I cannot avoid it at all on the internet, and to an extent the same thing goes for irl. I enjoy cosplaying and want to use as a springboard for my dream career in costume design and construction. I also work for an anime vendor booth and go to almost every con in my state and even some out of states.  My boss knows zero about k////s and tbh he wouldn’t care about what it was/if me and my friends who also work for him were made uncomfortable by it.  So when cosplayers show up to our booth, we can’t just leave to avoid them. We can’t tell them to leave because were extremely uncomfortable either. It’s basically a retail job so we have to smile and help sell things to them. One con for 2 days straight a pair of sang///woo and yoon////bum couple cosplayers kept coming back to our booth every 2-3 hours and hanging out for 20 minutes straight because we were the only booth at that convention selling yoi merchandise. Our boss even encouraged us to keep trying to get them to come back and buy more since they spent so much money. It was honest to god awful??? Like all three of us just kept praying they’d leave and not come back every time they showed up cause we did not want to see them. Esp when they would also loiter by our booth to talk to friends and do shippy things and joke about the abuse in the comic. 

I also was talking to a really popular cosplayer once who also is uncomfortable with k////s and he told me that a yoon//////bum cosplayer ran and tackled him at a con and damaged his cosplay. Or I had the scare of my life when I was going under a table to sort through the boxes and I came up to a yoon////bum cosplayer right there with wrist bandages and felt uncomfortable for the rest of the day.

And also umm going off that and onto a semi tangent: do you have any idea how many k/////s cosplayers love using self harm as a prop????? Ever since the chapter with self harm came out I have yet to see a yoon////bum cosplayer without wrist bandages (bloody or not) including that one that kept coming back for 2 days which is god awful. Esp considering one of my friends who works at the booth is extremely triggered by that stuff.  Anytime we see yoon////bum cosplayers now we have to go out of our ways to avoid our friend seeing it by either getting them to switch tables or trying to distract them all while WORKING and helping customers. And ofc one with bloody wrist bandages went right up to their booth one time when they weren’t looking and when my friend looked back bc they realized a customer was there they had to sit and help them purchase something before going to the bathroom because they were having a panic attack and needed to get away from that. And ofc the rest of us had to cover for them and pretend to our boss they were just taking a bathroom break. So uh yeah not fond and if you think I can ignore that….. what world do you live in???? It’s in my face on the internet and at cons I attend to enjoy and at my job.

Stop lying about my favs!!!!!” I also sometimes like reading anti’s posts bc there are times where I have problems articulating my feeling so seeing someone else write it out more cohesively than I can helps me sort things out so that I’m not thinking as much about how I feel and what I’m trying to say about this garbage bc someone already said it. And also if a fan is saying something extremely nasty, yes I’m going to sometimes jump in bc I’m at that point already upset and angry.

So yeah again: I legit cannot ignore it and once I see it I can’t stop thinking about it until my discomfort passes which can either be for a few minutes or a few hours depending on the situation.
