My Group X Battle Thoughts

So I know I’m kinda late as the next episode comes out tomorrow. But I wanted to put out my thoughts on the performances because I was only able to finish episode 4 yesterday due to finals and stuff. So, firstly, the performances themselves! I’m going to put my opinion on who did better for each battle (in blue).

MAMA v. Love Shot

No More Dream v. Blood, Sweat & Tears

Trespass v. Dramarama

Adore U v. Clap

Energetic v. Light

Girls Girls Girls v. Lullaby

Where You At v. Dejavu

The 7th Sense v. BOSS

And for my Top 5 performances!

Lullaby: BEST VOCALS; all of the trainees in this team sang so well!! Suhwan made a perfect center and I loved Baek Jin’s dance break. Honestly, they looked and sounded like a real idol group.

Girls Girls Girls: BEST STAGE PRESENCE; these two made it so hard to puck between the two GOT7 teams! This song is hard to pull off without seeming overboard but they did it! Their facial expressions were on point and their vocals were so smooth~

Love Shot: SO SEXY; they were practically oozing charisma. Wooseok’s soft voice, Seungyoun’s high tone, LEE HANGYUL’S EXISTANCE, UGH!!! So good.

BOSS: FLAWLESS; seriously, this performance has absolutely nothing wrong with it. I remember watching the cover of this song from Under Nineteen and being so underwhelmed. This one was much better. Yohan did so well as main rapper and Jinhyuk was a great center! The reason I have it lower it because, honestly, no one can do this song justice but NCT U.

No More Dream: BEST SYNERGY; this team seemed like a TEAM. They all complimented each other very well and they just seemed so connected with each other. Their teamwork is so apparent and made their performance that much better to watch. Also, Steven Kim’s rapping 😉

And now for the Top 11 trainees! This isn’t my personal Top 11, but the boys who I thought did the best during the performances.

Astory Entertainment Jeon Hyunwoo, main vocal of Adore U: his voice is so clear and his facial expressions are adorable! He’s so soft and makes me so soft and honestly my heart just totoally melted.

AAP.Y Kang Hyeonsu, sub vocal 1 of Girls Girls Girls: this boy steals the spotlight with his beautiful voice and incredible stage presence! He’s so talented and I really hope we get to see more of him~

Yuehua Entertainment Cho Seungyoun, main vocal of Love Shot: MAIN RAPPER OF UNIQ??? BEING MAIN VOCAL????? We love versatility 👌🏻 His high tone is so pleasing and sexy~ Also his OUTFIT and MAKEUP- don’t even get me started.

Music Works Song Yubin, main vocal of Lullaby: his voice was absolutely perfect for this song. He’s also just a really genuine, hard-working guy and has this boy-next-door charm that is very attractive.

Urban Works Media Kim Minseo, main vocal of Dejavu: HOW DID THIS KID NOT GET PICKED??? He’s a true diamond in the rough: his voice is angelic and his facial expressions are on point!

Music Works Kim Kookheon, main vocal of Girls Girls Girls: same with Yubin, Kookheon is just a genuine, good guy. Plus, HIS 👏🏻 VOICE 👏🏻 SLAYS 👏🏻 MY 👏🏻 LIFE; his energy is amazing and he puts such life into his performance.

Individual Choi Suhwan, sub vocal 2 of Lullaby: MY BOY WAS CENTER WOOOO!! He’s so captivating and his voice is amazing! I still can’t believe so many companies rejected him: he’s such an amazing performer.

AAP.Y Lee Midam, vocal 3 of The 7th Sense: Korea better not sleep on this boy because he is the total package! His vocal tone is so unique and his lower notes gave me chills. You best believe I’m gonna be sobbing if he doesn’t continue.

VINE Entertainment Baek Jin, rapper 1 of Lullaby: I admire him so much because you can tell he knows who he is as a performer. I loved how he added the dance break and got his moment to shine!

Individual Lee Hyeop, main vocal of Clap: honestly, I didn’t think the Clap performance was that great, but this guy??? THOSE HIGH NOTES??? NAILED IT!!! I want to see more from him~

E Entertainment Won Hyuk, rapper 2 of Energetic: he was born to be a singer! He’s incredibly multi-talented and the reason Energetic was so good. I’m praying that we get to continue to see him perform 🙏🏻

[August 2019] THE STAR Interview [part 1]

It’s your first time meeting THE STAR. How was the shoot today? 🐶Yuvin: I was able to have a fun shooting in a very comfortable atmosphere. It was a good shooting because it was able to keep my spirit alive with compliments. 🐰Kookheon: At first it was very awkward so it was a bit hard, but it got better as time passed.

How are you doing after Produce x 101 ended? 🐰Kookheon: While preparing for our fan meeting we were also doing various shows and recording album. 🐶Yuvin: I take a rest when I’m resting and practice when I’m practicing. I am wokring hard day by day.

Do you realise that you have increasing popularity now? 🐰Kookheon: I’m having a wonderful day because a lot more people know me now than before. 🐶Yuvin: In the past, when I joined the audition program Superstar K6, people recognized me when I passed by. After a few years, I thought I was forgotten. After going through this episode, it feels very strange to be recognized again and I thought I should work harder.

You have learned a lot while doing Produce X 101. What’s the most memorable? 🐰Kookheon: I realized that if I do my best in any given situation, I will not have any regret. 🐶Yuvin: If I go into detail, teacher Seokhoon and teacher Yumi gave us a lot of feedback during vocal lesson. It’s hard to change singing style, but I think I should embrace the part that needs work and positively work hard. So I want to say thank you to the teachers.

What’s the biggest change on your appearance compared to before you appeared on Produce X 101? 🐶Yuvin: ‘Didn’t you get more passionate?’ I thought like that. 🐰Kookheon: Before I joined Produce X 101 I worked out so hard that my body got bigger, but I couldn’t work out much during Produce X 101, so I’ve lost a lot of weight.

How did you feel about working as a unit? 🐰Kookheon: First of all, it was very easy to coordinate opinions and there were very little conflicts during practice, so it took less time and less energy to find each others total, it was comfortable.  🐶Yuvin: It was amazing because the schedule keeps going on, but I’m a little worried since only the two of us are performing on stage and I think that’s what we should try and fill, so we’re working hard on that.

What’s the concept of the new song? 🐶Yuvin: It’s like an in advance gift that we gave to fans. It’s a ballad. We’ll release this song and prepare for our official album, it’s going to be like an event.

What did you focus on the most while preparing for the new song? 🐶Yuvin: Since it’s a ballad song, I was more concerned about the live performance. I’ve become very emotional since the lyrics are for the fans and I’ve been doing image training a lot when I recorded the song. I sang it while imagining myself singing on stage in front of the fans. 

Do you have any jinx that only you have? 🐶Yuvin: I have a jinx that is when I practice, I sing well, but when I go in the recording studio, I suddenly can’t sing. Also if I don’t have enough sleep, I can’t sing. 🐰Kookheon: I think that I’m going to ruin it if I go on stage with the thought of doing well. So I sing with the thought that I enjoy this moment without thinking about it.

According to your opinion, what is your secret weapon?  🐶Yuvin: Rather than a secret weapon, I have a very good memory instead. When I look at fans two or three times, I can almost remember them. Isn’t it an advantage to remember someones name just from the first look? 🐰Kookheon: I’m gonna prepare for my secret weapon. I don’t think I have it yet. (laughs)

Is there a reason on why you dream to become a singer? 🐶Yuvin: When people supported me said “I was sick, but I got better because I listened to Yuvin’s voce”, “I’m healing” and I thought I should be a very good singer and give good songs to a lot of people. 🐰Kookheon: I want to become a singer that people are very proud of and become a positive influence to others.

Are there any messages you want to convey through your music? 🐶Yuvin: Right now, the lyrics of our upcoming song contains what we really want to say. We want to tell how much we think of our fans.

Which role model do you want to be like? 🐶Yuvin: I want to be like Kyuhyun senior and Lee Seunggi. 🐰Kookheon: My mom who doesn’t seem to know how to give up.

Except for performing, singing and dancing, what are your other interests? 🐰Kookheon: My father and my mother both are good at cooking, so I became a bit interested in cooking. But I quickly gave up doing the dishes because I was lazy. (laughs) 🐶Yuvin: Besides singing and dancing, perhaps entertainment? Doing entertainment would be really fun. It would be fun to talk.

Are there any goals you want to achieve this year? 🐰Kookheon: I want to prepare for an album and stand in front of my fans again. 🐶Yuvin: I want to work hard and be more active.

10 years from now, what are you going to be like? 🐰Kookheon: I think I’m going to be worried about getting married. 🐶Yuvin: In 10 years, I would like to have done everything I could, and I would have worked hard, so I would be able to go traveling in a stable position and life.

What kind of music genre do you want to do in the future? 🐰Kookheon: I want to do music that give people the feeling “ah, it’s so good” when they listen to the song. 🐶Yuvin: I want to try various genres, but I want to be an artist with my own color. When they hear the song, I want people to think “the music is good, this friend is talented.”
