don and judy growing into responsibility together is so important to me. i mean for the lack of other people and better phrasing they're essentially best friends who get separated for a year. and don't get me wrong i love best friends growing into their potential together but- they see each other AFTER A YEAR mind you. and when they last saw each other, judy was a freaked out budding doctor who was confident because she had to be, and don was a known criminal with very little reliability outside of the family circle and very little say in what goes on around him. and they see each other AFTER A YEAR, and she's a poised, assertive ship captain with 97+ people under her care and a more experienced doctor, he's a head of the entire engineering crew and a dependable leader in the group with a new confidence in himself. i love that they were an underrated power duo before they got separated and they get reunited and are suddenly a POWER power duo and they did it all by themselves I love them.

Rest in Peace, Mark Goddard. thank you for all the memories as Major Don West, the hardest working and handsomest astronaut on the original Lost in Space. Thank you for always keeping the Jupiter 2 in one piece, even with all the crash landings. Thank you for the beautiful love story with Judy that inspired so many dreams and fanfics, and the complicated enemies to frenemies and back again story with Dr. Smith, and always protecting the Robinsons. Even with all the crashes, all the falling boulders, all the explosions, it always felt safer when you were there and it will never be the same without you. I love Don so much and thank you for bringing him to life. And, from a neurodivergent person, thank you for your long career as a special education teacher after you retired from acting and all the lives you touched along the way. And personally, thank you for being so kind to me when I met you. You will never be forgotten, Mark. Thank you for everything ❤️
