Raking Leaves

"Cas, stop checking out my ass, and help me here." Dean turns around, finding a furiously blushing Castiel. "Oh, so you were checking out my ass!"

Castiel bows his head a bit lower. "N... no..."

"It's a nice ass, can't blame you. But bring a bag, and help me."

It was their first autumn in their house, and everything was very new to both of them. Castiel didn't understand why they had to rake the leaves, because forests are perfectly fine with the leaves on the ground. Dean didn't understand either, but he figured it made for a normal activity to do when one has a normal life, and he longed for normal.

"You know the wind is just going to bring more leaves tomorrow", Castiel said, while pushing leaves into what was the 6th bag today.

Dean stopped raking and straightened up with a groan. "Fuck. I think you're right." He looked at the expanse of their property. "This might be a stupid idea. Why didn't you bring it up earlier?"

Castiel made a knot to close the bag. "You seemed to enjoy yourself."

"Hm."

Dean turned to the back of their property. "Do you see the big pile around the maple trees? Let's bring the bags over there."

"OK Dean."

Dean brought his rake and started raking the thick leaf cover into one place. "While I do that, empty the bags here."

Castiel started to untie a bag even if he was perplexed. "But why?"

"We're gonna make a big pile and jump into it."

Castiel tilted his head. "Jump into it?"

Dean beamed. "Yeah! It's fun!" His shoulders fell. "Or, at least, I think it is. Kids do it all the time, but I didn't get to. We were always in hotels."

Castiel understood immediately what that meant for Dean and he emptied the bags swiftly.

Soon enough, Dean and Castiel were running together and jumped in the leaves. They laughed and turned on their backs, looking at the few remaining blotches of colours in the branches above.

"It smells nice in the leaves, Dean."

"Yeah."

A quiet moment passed.

"Dean?" "mmm?" "Are you sleeping?"

"I wish."

Castiel moved closer and took Dean in his arms. Dean gave him a kiss.

Their nap smelled of crisp air, fallen leaves, and the soft warmth of a loved one.

Barbecue

Final piece for the hot summer challenge!

Dean lifts the lid on the barbecue and gives the steaks a poke.

"Hm, medium rare," he pronounces.

On cue, Cas pokes his head up through the Bunker roof's hatch and hands him a plate. "Are they ready?"

"They're perfect," Dean replies. "Everything else done?"

"Yes, Sam's just dressing the salad."

"Irrelevant," Dean retorts.

Cas rolls his eyes. "Eileen's dishing out the cole slaw and Donna says the pies will be cool enough to cut in about fifteen minutes."

"I'll be down in two." He bends over to give his husband a quick kiss. "Love you."

"I love you too."

What is one supposed to do after defeating God, bringing your best friend back to life (again) and confessed your love for him, resurrecting half of your family, AND gaining 2 sons with an almost 25 year age gap between them?

Well, that's what Dean Winchester is trying to figure out. He feels himself being pulled in different directions, and he's scared he's going to be pulled apart at theseasms. He feels the need to continue with the family business and help Sam with his dream, the Hunters Network. But a part of him, and that part grows bigger and louder each day, wants something completely new and different

He has something he never dared to even allow himself to dream-a family of his own. Ben is here and ready to be a family. He understood why Dean wiped his memory and doesn't hold it against him because he did it to save them, and he knows how hard it was. Then there's Jack, the 3-year-old ball of energy that's living his best life. He's a handful, but Dean cherishes every chaotic moment.

And then there was him. His angel that had, quite literally, fallen from him.

This little comic (and please forgive the sketchiness) has taken me an eternity, but I HAD to do it because I was reading some fics and there was a mention that Dean’s bday is on January 24th… and it totally figures that Dean would forget his birthday (the poor lamb) so yeah. Now it’s out of my system and I can get back to real life. I think my fave part in all this is Sam… though half the reason for this was to fluster Cas back into Enochian.

I do, yes! domestiel, fluff, and kissing are my speciality. but I do enjoy writing angst to challenge myself sometimes and because I enjoy the reactions from yall in regards to writing something painful and angsty occasionally. overall, I like to hope that I live up to my url name as a destiel kiss writer, and all things fluffy and domesticity!

hello hello! 

sorry i haven’t been releasing any art since the new year but i’m almost done finishing up the fifth floral background for my first round of printable coloring pages! 

today i’m taking a break, because drawing all the time for 7 days a week is how i almost got my mild tennis elbow thing alwekjalfje 

i’ll go in more detail when i post but for anyone who may be interested in the pages:

i know sometimes coloring just the flowers may be fun lol - i’m trying to do these in a way that i always wanted coloring books/pages. 

i haven’t settled on where they’ll be sold, and they may be sold on multiple places just for convinience. 

i’m not gonna give a hard deadline because i had to re-do some of the floral backgrounds which set me back a hot second but i’m hOPING to have them done within the next week and a half - two weeks. 

i hope y’all like them!! and i actually wanna print them out and color them myself. a problem i didn’t even realize i was going to have was wanting to coloring them in procreate as i was done with the line work! 

so yes, small update!

Suptober day 12 - Unstable

Dean blows something Cas says all out of proportion in the middle of a Red Circle Boutique

After forty-five minutes and three complete rounds of the store, they're finally done with their Target run. Dean double-checks his shopping list for the fourth time and nods in satisfaction.

“Okay, that's the last thing. We should be good to go,” he states firmly, closing out the notes app on his phone with a decisive flick. When he looks up again, an odd movement from his husband's side of the cart draws his eye. “What's up, babe? You're actin' all kinds of twitchy over there.”

Cas gives him a worried look, brows furrowed and hands aflutter. “Dean, are you sure this is a good idea?” he asks plaintively

Dean clutches at his chest as if he's been wounded by the very question. “What, you don't think I can win? You told me my Spicy Fire & Ice Grilled Pork Loin was the second-best thing you ever put in your mouth! Now you're saying it's no good?”

“I’m not saying that at all, love. It was delicious. I just–”

“Then why don't you think I should enter the Swap-Meat? You're supposed to be my cheerleader here, babe!”

Cas tries again with a weak “I'm not trying t– ” but Dean cuts him off again, volume rising and arms waving as he warms to his subject. “We promised to love and support each other, man! Why can't you have my back on this? I'm puttin' myself out here, tryin' something scary and new, and you're second-guessing me? In the middle of Target? That's not–”

A large hand clamps down on his shoulder, and a voice thunders, “DEAN.”

“...Yeah, Cas?” Dean asks sheepishly.

“I have every confidence in your abilities as a chef, but I am deeply concerned about the safety of this cart. Can we please ask an employee for assistance in getting this up to the register before we injure someone?”

Sorry, sorry, this one was so dumb but I had to do it! I took that picture at my local Target back in June because as soon as I saw it I knew it was about domestiel.

Not a finale fix it, but a canon divergent S13 fic that follows this same theme is Magdalena. Cas gets back from the empty and finds that Dean is still distrustful of Jack and takes out his anger/pain over losing Cas on him so Cas takes Jack and move to a small town. Dean has to come back and earn back Cas and Jack’s trust on their terms. Very domestic and deals with Cas’s love for Jack and how his parental love/duty to Jack outranks his potential romantic fulfillment with Dean.

one thing I never ever see us talk about is that jack is his son, and losing him would absolutely ruin cas. it did wreck him.

I think, when cas comes back and learns what jack did, what he gave up, he would be torn apart by pride (in what jack sacrificed to save the world) and grief (in jack giving up his life, in jack being only four and losing out on his own life).

cas loves dean. it’s canon, it’s romantic, it is likely requited, but if the end of the world came down to jack or dean, cas would choose jack over and over. it’s shown in season 14’s final episode alone. neither love outshines the other, certainly — but that love also does not disappear.

they are different kinds of love, absolutely. this post is basically in response to a lot of destiel fics focusing on dean and cas (which is fair!), but I would love to see more fix-it fics with jack (and sam), and I would especially love to see more fics with jack where he maintains the role that he chose as god, but where cas grieves him while he and dean sort out their issues. (there’s a wonderful fic that exemplifies cas’s grief — highly recommend “fenario” by ftmsteverogers on ao3.)

I think the only thing the finale may have gotten right (entirely by accident, as it was a cover-up as to why they wrote misha out of it) was that cas might choose to stay a little bit longer with jack because he loved him, and he was his son. he might not go rushing to find dean because of his concern for his child in that child’s new, massive role.

give me more cas grieving the child his son could never be.
