SHE GOT REJECTED BECAUSE SHE WAS A CHILD AND SHIRO WAS AN ADULT

Listen we know they loved each other and AT ONE POINT yuri grew up and became an adult too but not every relationship works in this clandestine way. That was the whole point! She had rinka or satans children and Shiro stepped in to take care of them when yuri died. Shiro was too late when he realized he loved her back and yuri was too early when she confessed. Did they love each other at the same time? Yes. Was it obvious? Yep! Were they both adults? Yep yep! But yuri was waiting for rinka to return when his body would begin giving out and Shiro was still not ready for his own confession. As Rick said “better confess before someone else comes along” and eventually he was right. Satan returned and declared yuri as his and got her pregnant.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think that was the hidden meaning of yuri and shiros relationship no? Too late meets too early. Too rough meets too kind. What’s clearly there cannot be pursued because of the situation their forced/chose to be in and it ends in tragedy. I mean we have this whole chapter about Shiro deadbeat exhausted and hurt from a monster attack, ready to die and leave the twins to die because yuri was dead now too. He feels he failed, he made all sorts of mistakes and thinks finally he can die for being the worst monster of them all. Then the twins begin crying and he realizes that’s the twins desperately want to live so he should do. He’s gonna make sure these damn babies don’t disappoint their late mother (after of course Mephisto commands him to be their father and makes him the 251st paladin) In a way that’s how he’s making it up to yuri by raising her children without judgement for their origin and teaching them to be strong like her. He knows her good intentions as misguided as they were, he knows the truth despite mephisto covering it up. Did he have regrets? abso-fucking-lutely!

But he had every right to reject her back then, in fact, he very well should have either way! Because at the time, she was a child and he was an adult, period.

A mission goes terribly wrong when Lance and Pidge are betrayed by their would-be allies. Now Pidge is injured and it's up to Lance to get her to safety-- But can he do so in time to save her? And even if he does, who's going to save him?

pidge & lance fic? ft. bamf protective lance? focus on platonic/sibling love? i got u guys. hard angst with a lot of fear but heavy fluff and comfort at the end, and a very interesting and intentional plot!

Lance can't remember. He doesn't know where he is, why he's on this strange planet- yeah a planet that isn't earth- he's just fourteen! Why was he here? Where was his mom? His big sister? Why was this giant, mechanical, blue lion comforting him? Why were these people talking to him through a helmet, even if he couldn't answer? How does he get out of this suit-Who are those purple dudes outside of the lion?

i will always always ALWAYS have the softest of soft spots for de-aged lance. its gotta be one of the top three plot devices fr. oh? lance doesnt know how to be his true self around his team? and his team doesnt know how to understand him yet? here is an easy and fun to read solution 😊

this fic is pretty evenly centered around all the team, but shiro lovers im calling u rn. the last scene with keith and lance and shiro actually made me want to curl up and sob in the best possible way i thought it about it for days after

Lance falls in a river on a strange planet, and gets stranded up the river with an even stranger kid. He's getting pretty tired of waiting for his friends to come rescue him, before realizing, maybe this time, he's going to have to figure out a way to save himself.

i need yall to undestand how batshit feral this fic made me. im always a little bit obsessed with religious imagery, thats just how things are, but this one just had it everywhere and so seamlessly?? in fact i think i actually went insane about this fic before in a separate post, i cant remember when, i just know that ive read this fic a stupid amount of times and i have specific lines memorised and i think about it all the time

Voltron x Detroit Become Human AU

After the android revolution Lance ended up at Castle Bar. He likes it there a lot and he loves his friends. There's not much of a difference between working as a bartender and working as a nanny: you're taking care of people who are not always capable of speaking clearly and mopping up spills. Then this mysterious K. figure turns up. An old friend of Shiro and half-Galran to boot. Lance doesn't really know what to make of him, though his original programming quickly kicks in: he will take care of this K. person, whether the guy likes it or not!

This crossover between Voltron and Detroit Become Human has been in my WIPs since February 2019, growing slowly but steadily. I decided to put up the first chapter as an incentive for myself to finally finish the fic and to gauge your responses to this AU.

It's a self-indulgent thing that I'm really fond of. I hope you guys like it too!

They were both picked up off the street and will attack you if you pick them up. They both hiss. They both have fangs. They both will get attached if you feed them. They both can go without a collar but you should put one on them if you let them outside alone. They both weren't made to live more than about 16 years.

Does Shiro get to style the swoosh, I feel like he’d be sorta excited to style the swoosh XD Like imagine them getting ready for a nice casual date in the morning,  Shiro just sitting in Munakata’s room reading a book or something as Munakata takes a quick shower. Munakata comes back into the room with his hair still wet, a towel around his shoulders and his glasses off. He makes a little small talk with Shiro about the book as he looks around for his glasses and brush and Shiro gets up all let me, telling Munakata to sit down. Munakata chuckles and wonders if Shiro thinks he isn’t capable of brushing his own hair without his glasses, Shiro admits he just wants to brush Munakata’s hair, putting the glasses back on Munakata’s face and Munakata smiles as he says in that case he will not refuse.

Shiro starts brushing Munakata’s hair and he’s surprised that it seems longer now that it’s wet, he never thought of Munakata as someone with long hair. Munakata says it isn’t as long as Shiro’s used to be and Shiro laughs, that’s true, no wonder he knows how to brush hair so well. Munakata wonders if Shiro used to brush that long hair every day like this and Shiro admits it was a part of his routine, just something that he was used to doing every day but didn’t think much about. Getting to brush someone else’s hair is nice though, this feels different than when he used to brush his own hair. 

He gets to Munakata’s bangs and notes that they’re drying already, he runs the brush over them and imagine part of Munakata’s hair just naturally swooshing up. Shiro laughs at that, he didn’t realize Munakata’s bangs were natural that way and Munakata gives this good-natured hum, his hair has always been this way. It wouldn’t do to let Munakata go out with a wet head so Shiro grabs the hair dryer and carefully dries the rest of Munakata’s hair, Munakata says Shiro is a surprisingly able hair dresser and Shiro says that’s a new compliment for him, joking that maybe he’s found a new job after all this time. Munakata says perhaps, though in truth he would prefer Shiro remain his own personal hairdresser, Shiro says he wouldn’t think of doing this with anyone else.

Greetings, I am Diluc Ragnvindr.  Welcome to Southern Gaciea. Unlike the North, East, and the West, the South is a tourist spot for outsiders. It's a closed off country, so outlanders will need to submit their documents to the department of domestic affairs.  Perhaps you do not remember, but you've encountered many interesting individuals upon your arrival such as…   Captain Dainsleif, the famous Western knight turned retainer for both Prince Lumine and her missing brother, Prince Aether;   Lord Kamisato, the Eastern noble who controls Gaciean trade with just a flick of a wrist;   Chief Albedo, the Head of Domestic Affairs and Chief Alchemist from unknown origins;   Justice Ajax, the unreasonable Northern politician whom I often argue with;  …And, of course, Duke Ragnvindr, the Southern Head of Military Affairs. Some appreciation for Ishida's character writing...

I like that Rize never let go of her hatred. She began her journey wanting to bite the hands of those that tried to hold her down.

And despite knowing that her actions led her towards greater suffering, she continues to resent Kaneki, who, in turn, decides to accept his failures and moves forward in hopes of becoming a better person.

She even goes as far as to try to 'drown' him herself when he fails to drown the first time.

It is an attitude that can be seen with multiple characters as they face their respective downfalls; Urie with his need for strength, Shiro with her vengeance, Mutsuki with his obsessive jealousy, and particularly Furuta, who cannot accept and move on from his disillusioned dream for a domestic life. What connects all these characters, including Rize, is their inability to move on, fixating on the wrongs they've experienced to justify their destructive behaviour. Kaneki also fell into this downward spiral in the first series, hence why it is a tragedy that ends with this 'death'.

But he learns, painfully, the fault in this way of thinking, and though others are forced to do the same during a pivotal moment in their development, (which can even include their deaths), Rize holds onto her hatred until the very end. Does she die resentful? Angry? Disappointed? Either way, it's a great moment of character writing, paralleling Kaneki's growth with Rize's refusal to change, working cyclically with the series -- just as her actions led to her demise in the first chapter, she dies bitterly a second time, at the hands of the man she deemed responsible for her suffering. It's cruelly ironic.

It's not perfect, but it does bring Touka some solace, being able to move on instead of fixating on a destructive sentimentality, like revenge. She can heal, she can grow, and she does, epitomised with her relationship with Kaneki and the conception of their child.

And what helps Kaneki move on in this way? Well, in contrast to Rize's refusal to develop, Touka stands as the antithesis of her characterisation. Touka is initially driven by the same violent rage that drives many others in the series, as touched on before. She kills the investigators hunting Hinami, as well as investigator Mado, but it doesn't bring her peace, especially when considering how she witnessed her father going down the same path, and then Ayato. And then Kaneki. After seeing the fruitlessness of exerting this rage, she refuses to be the same, instead focusing on the pacifism that Yoshimura tried to teach her.

The same pacifism Kaneki tries to reject before killing Yamori, notably following his acceptance of his ghoul side, as visualised with his figurative consumption of Rize.

And Kaneki, in turn, learns from her, abandoning his idealisation of Rize as a pinnacle of strength, and understanding, finally, that following her shadow will only ever result in his death. Instead, he'll follow the light that Touka brings into his life, her faith, her love, and her stability creating a home he can return to. And with a home, he can believe that this meandering journey has a destination he can strive towards. Of course, this home goes on to encapsulate all those he loves, but Touka remains the foundation within his mind.

There's beauty in acceptance, in seeing a purpose in one's bad experiences. It's something I can certainly relate to, refusing nihilism by accepting that, in the end, the world just is.

some silly voltron thoughts;

shiro is actually very goofy and fun around his partner (originally this was gonna be about adam but it could also apply to curtis)

around the team, he's their leader and a parental figure. he provides them with guidance and instruction, and he's a mentor. he's the black lion's paladin, but with his partner, he's shiro and that's so special to me guys

like imagine he's baking with his partner, he's wearing some branded apron he was gifted by the garrison as part of a consolation package, and they both have flour in their hair and on their noses.

whatever they were making ends up burnt but they laugh about it and order postmates instead, turning on a stupid horror movie and eating storebought cookies until they fall asleep on the couch.

it's one of the few domestic moments that shiro *really* gets to experience as a pilot, but more importantly it makes him remember he's in his fucking 20's. it gives him a chance to actually feel like it.

when he's around someone he loves (especially if it's romantic), he lets himself feel like he doesn't know what he's doing. and that feels so, so good. for once, he doesn't have to pretend all of his shit is together, and he can relax and act his age.

Do you also just think about klance and how domestic they could've been if DreamWorks weren't cowards?

Like, it's canon that Keith is an early riser and Lance likes to sleep in late. So, I'm imagining Keith trying to get up for training and stuff, but he finds himself pinned down by his boyfriend, leg over his hips and arm resting on top of his torso (I like to think that Lance has a habit of keeping his palm on Keith's chest, where he can feel his heartbeat). So, Keith finds himself in a heated argument between wanting to get out of bed and not wanting to wake Lance up.

He sighs heavily, having been over this more than once, and tries to slid out of his boyfriend's embrace carefully. But, of course, he fails (because Lance is a clingy bastard) and the half-embrace only grows tighter, a sleepy 'don't' leaving Lance's lips.

Keith's gives up for now, sparing some time for his dear lover, scattering messy kisses all over his face and playing with his soft bed hair with one hand, while the other one rubs mindless circles on Lance's tanned skin. It's lazy and cozy but then Lance finally rolls to his other side because Keith runs hot, which gives the latter the perfect possibility to start his day (of course, only after giving Lance one last kiss on the temple).

Since Lance has lots of siblings and stuff, he had to learn how to cook from an early age, tho with all that world saving and now forming a steady ground for peace he doesn't have much time left for that. So, whenever he has time (and energy) he cooks some delicious meal, taking the kitchen all to himself (music blowing and his singing+dancing combo in its full glory). Keith does offer his help, but the most he's trusted with are vegetables cutting and mixing the ingredients.

But most of the time he just likes to hug Lance from behind during those rare moments as he stands relatively still or annoying him, teasing and messing around at 'his' kitchen. Keith also knows how to cook but it's something easy and quick.

Imagine Lance catching a flu and Keith is freaking out, because he has no idea what to do. He never takes care of himself nor did any of his foster families offered him enough love and care. So, he remembers all what Shiro and Adam did when he was sick as a teenager and does the same for Lance. He cooks a chicken soup (bland and the chicken is a little rubbery, but, hey, it's the thought that counts after all), brings him warm tea with lemon and honey, never leaves his side and makes sure he has every needed medicine or whatever his poor boyfriend wants.

At first, Lance is perplexed by this side of Keith, the one he rarely lets slip out to the surface. But he soon finds himself completely pampered in love and care, trying to cover his flustration by teasing Keith for being a mother hen. But deep down he's endlessly grateful.

Both of them suffer from nightmares, so they learned all the best ways of how to calm each other down, how to show support and what lines aren't supposed to be crossed.

They both require physical contact, for Lance it's a tight hug, whilst for Keith it's hand holding or a gentle hand in his hair because he hates feeling trapped in his panicked state the most. For the most part of the night afterwards, none of them gets to sleep, so sometimes they watch a show or just hold each other close as if giving silent promise to protect one another no matter what.

Shiro Headcanons

First and foremost,

Shiro is a WARRIOR. He does not simply LEAVE the battle field. I REFUSE to believe he simply accepted his civilian role.

He HAS to be put back into action. Even if that means commanding voltron or piloting black. Domestic life does NOT suit him.

Look at his Garrison days, he was constantly pushing limits and himself. I refuse to believe he will just STOP. I refuse to believe he just accepts things so easily, especially things he can change.

As much as I love that he wound up with Curtis, I don't think it will last. It was a trauma bond. Curtis is a rando imo. We don't know a lot about Curtis either, which makes this tougher.

Shiro is going to go through immense withdrawals and PTSD. He needs a crap ton of help and support.

Ptsd is trying and breaks relationships. I have seen it. It is not fun. It changes people, it makes them not who they were.

Okay. Rant over.

• How he got into the Garrison was because he wanted to explore and push the boundaries of a human. Go further, farther, and faster.

• Can handle some spice.

• Drinks occasionally.

Hygiene

• Showers at night

Fighting

• Uses his arm as a weapon

• He is more of a brute force fighter vs stealth.

Prosthetic

• Self conscious about his arm.

• Doesn't like that he can't feel temp through his arm.

• Misses the feeling texture through it.

• Stares at it at night while he lays on his back in bed.

• On more than one occasion, pidge has asked to look over his arm. She has plugged it into her computer and tinkered with it, making adjustments for him.

Routine

• Wakes up at 530 for the day.

• Gets dressed.

• Warms up and works out before breakfast.

• Trains every 6 days. One day of rest. Even if it is just for 20 minutes.

• The others started to follow his routine. While he would spend time practicing, the others would do their own thing.

• If he can't sleep, he lays in bed and stares at the ceiling until he gets himself up and out of bed. He will wander around the castle, usually finding himself in the Bridge.

• He will sit and watch the stars or fiddle in his chair with the data on his computer.

• He likes looking at the star chart in the bridge.

• Sometimes he finds himself in the training room. He will meditate or just sit there quietly. Sometimes he will put on the practice bot.

• Sometimes he will head to the hangar and sit in front of Black or in the cockpit. It's his place to think and unwind.

• He rarely likes to sleep due to night terrors. But he will nap.

PTSD and Trauma

• He has scars he isn't proud of.

• He thrashes at night and has put holes and dents in walls.

• He has cried out at night.
