In the Space Opera Network, during the most festive time of the year, the Phantom of the Bwahpera prepares for his annual Winter's Ball performance at Pristine Peaks. Much to the dismay of everyone, his ego is increased tenfold as he refuses to acknowledge his struggling employees. When the Phantom is greeted that night by his dead companion and three other spirits, he begins to realize the error of his ignorant ways.

A holiday ghost story... About a ghost being haunted by ghosts. How ironic!

Inspired by Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, this AU has both holiday cheer and all the spooks you'll ever need!

The Whole Story in a Nutshell:

The story begins with Phantom reminiscing about his best friend, Judas Morose, who died five years ago while preparing for the Winter's Ball at Pristine Peaks.

Leo, his assistant, asks if he could take a vacation on that day so that he could bring his wife and daughter to his performance, and Phantom does under the condition that his pay will be docked (permanently).

They then get a visit from the kind-hearted Dolly Mallard, who invites him over at her mansion to celebrate the winter festivities. Phantom declines, saying that his performance is far more important than some simple social gathering.

That night, Phantom comes home to get some beauty sleep until he is suddenly visited by Judas Morose, a wretched soul bounded and dangled by heavy chains, who tells him that he must change or else he'll be just like him.

Judas, before he returns to the afterlife, shows Phantom all of the celebrities who were just like him - self-centered and greedy.

Thus begins the haunting. As the clock strikes, Jedidiah McGruff, a country singer with a hankering for smoke and whiskey, appears. He takes Phantom to the past, revealing every moment that made the opera ghost who he is.

In the past, the Phantom was defeated by the hands of Mario and his crew of Heroes at his birthplace, Spooky Trails, and is met by Morose, who seizes the opportunity to make him a star.

Phantom does become a major star, popular for his operatic roasts, and becomes a big part of Morose's party inside a nightclub. Here is where he meets Bea and they fall in love. But their relationship soon became strife with heartbreak as Phantom obsesses over the spotlight, ending with him breaking up with her through text.

The clock then strikes twice, and Phantom encounters an electrifying rapper and DJ named Z.I.N.G., who shows him the present.

Leo arrives home to his wife, Lucille, and his daughter, Little Lottie, who is a huge fan of Phantom. The opera ghost realizes that she's autistic - a lonely girl with a big imagination and an even bigger heart. Lucille laments on how Phantom treats Leo, but Leo remains positive, for their daughter's sake.

Z.I.N.G. then takes Phantom to Dolly Mallard and her gathering of friends playing a guessing game, which turns out to be an excuse to make fun of Phantom. Z.I.N.G. then turns Phantom's attention to his backup dancers, Ignorance and Want, before leaving him.

And finally, when the clock strikes three, the final spirit, Mal "Fleshcarver" Steward of the metal band Rabbid Stew, appears from the darkness. She shows Phantom a vibrant and bustling world of fame and fortune, which was caused by the disappearance of a certain bad celebrity.

This celebrity was so horrible, so terrible, that everyone began praising his absence and goes as far as to sell off his items at an auction for extremely cheap prices. With Phantom not getting it, Fleshcarver then shows Lucille receiving a sudden call from the local school about Little Lottie.

Little Lottie, badly injured after another of her encounters with bullies, is in the nurse's office with her dad. When her mother arrives, she nonverbally communicates that she wants to disappear forever so that everyone can be happy.

Heartbroken by this little girl's predicament, and extremely scared of his future, Phantom begins to realize who the missing celebrity is. Fleshcarver then takes him to a decrepit mansion where he - that very celebrity - was crushed by a hanging chandelier while alone, wallowing in his failed career.

Phantom pleads for forgiveness and begs for another chance at redemption, vowing to put others before himself.

He then wakes up! He is alive, very, very much alive, and he is beyond ecstatic! The story ends with Phantom adding a great sum in everyone's paycheck, allowing Leo and his family to his performance for free, and arrives at Dolly Mallard's party, who was greeted with open arms.

1. Your first OC ever?

Oh, this is Hard, I barely remember my little self-insert OCs from way back when. I will hesitantly say my first OC ever was... a Pokemon trainer OC. Her name was Ari, she had a Celebi who she could talk to because I said so, and her love interest was the Aura guy who hangs out on Iron Island. Good times!

6. Two OCs of yours that look alike despite not being related?

.....This feels like a callout. Hm. So, y'see, I have this thing where I'm uncreative and have a Type when it comes to character design, so... a lot of my OCs do tend to look alike superficially.

Technically Atlas (a dnd OC) and Aurelion (a dating sim OC) should be the poster children for this question, only because they were a case of not so much 'looking alike' as 'hey I'm stealing my own character design for a different setting because I like it and couldn't think of anything else.' Consequently, Atlas and Aurelion look more-or-less like twins despite not even belonging to the same universe(s). However, I do like to joke that they're somehow distantly related--given that one exists in a sort of medieval-fantasy-Ancient-Greece blend and the other in a futuristic space empire-- if only because the thought of Atlas having a far-off descendant who looks exactly like them makes me laugh.

Otherwise, I do have a lot of blonde OCs (fondly and only sort-of-jokingly nicknamed my Army of Blondes) who kind of vaguely look like they could be related but definitely aren't. The two OCs who /are/ related basically look nothing alike at all.

Hmmmmm, "complicated" is a very subjective term... To me, none of my OCs designs are particularly complicated - they all have more complex bits, usually wardrobe related, and only because I can't resist a fun wardrobe, but by and large they're not all that complicated. I will, however, nominate Atlas for this one, because they wear armour almost All The Time, and it's kind of ornate and I hate drawing it, so.

16. Which one of your OCs would be the best at biology (school subject)?

Hmmmmm. Probably Castor (dnd Wizard). He's a nerd. <3 Oh, but also Dani! She's an OC for a different TTRPG (Masks, if anyone is curious!) and is kind of an over-achiever-needs-straight-A's kid, bless her heart.

20. Do any of your OCs sing? If they sing, care to share more details (headcanon voice, what kind of songs they like etc)?

Lyra and Nicky! Lyra is my beautiful, beautiful human bard, my first ever DND PC, and is a country singer. :,) I don't really have a headcanon for her voice, but her character playlist is mostly Dolly Parton with a little bit of Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves thrown in, so feel free to imagine something that suits. I imagine her belting Jolene a lot. <3

Nicky is my brandest newest baby boy, who I know very little about music-wise. He's in a band with some dudes about his age, ostensibly of the rock persuasion, but since I know very little about rock music, I mostly imagine him sounding like Charlie Gillespie, since Julie and the Phantoms is the only thing I really know that even vaguely fits the concept. 😂

26. Have you ever had to change your OC’s design or something else about them against your will?

Thankfully, no! I've been very fortunate that all my dear friends who play Barbies with me are very accommodating of my little characters, so I've generally never really had to mess with them any more than I particularly wanted to.

30. Which one of your OCs would most likely have a secret stuffed animal collection?

Dani, one hundred percent, bless her. She already has one stuffed animal she doesn't keep secret - she's probably got a stash under her bed.

In fairness, almost all of my OCs are part of a larger group made with (a) friend(s), so they tend to all have a friend or sibling or s/o who belongs to someone else, but I feel like most relevant would be my beloved Rose, whose boyfriend/soulmate/husband/etc. belongs to @ash-soka <3

Shout-out to my beloved friend C, too, who bequeathed me partial ownership of the book she may or may not someday write so my little character and hers could be dating-divorced-will-they-won't-they-maybe-in-another-life-or-maybe-in-this-one for my enjoyment. <3 Wyvern+Sera 4eva <3 <3 <3 And also Anna and Clara! (I decided to flesh her out a bit after making those Picrews last night, lol)

Name: Velma Maybelle Oakstead (named after Velma Bronn Johnston and Annie Oakley)

Birthday: January 19th (a Capricorn, and she shares Dolly Parton’s birthday! :D)

Job: Horse caretaker at Hyoudai Ranch, occasional rider in races and shows at Hyoudai Racecourse and Stadium

Phantom Thief outfit: Cavalry wears a dark red work shirt with the sleeves rolled up, underneath a black leather vest with gold buttons. Her pistol holder is on her waist, along with a dark red leather sheath for one of her knives and a belt where she holds ammo. The Phantom Thieves logo is on her belt buckle, and she wears a pair of black cowboy pants with subtle dark red flecks that are visible when light shines over them. She also wears a pair of black leather fingerless gloves. Her shoes are a pair of simple black cowboy boots, and the boot sheath holding one of her knives are dark red. She wears a black bullhide cowboy hat with a dark red braid that accents it, along with a Phantom Thieves-style star. Her mask is simple, and similar to Noir’s in shape and style; instead of a solid black color, her mask contains red flecks like the ones on her pants.

Persona Name: Etienne, then Filibus after completing her Social Link

Persona Appearance:

Etienne is painted American Quarter Horse with black and white fur; Most of Etienne’s body is black, but the area of painted spots on their rear is white. The painted spots on Etienne change into different words and images based on what attack is being used (ie. Fire attacks make the painted spots look like swirling flames, ice attacks make icicles/snowflakes). During a critical attack or a Baton Pass, the images get a solid black and red outline that resembles the black-and-red motif of Mementos. Etienne also has a black saddle with a small water canteen attached, which can be used to restore health.

Filibus is a black Friesand horse with very striking yellow/golden eyes. Its saddle is black and trimmed with thin gold lining, and wears a set of intimidating black-and-red armor with a skull-shaped helmet. During a magic attack, Etienne’s eyes glow through the slits in its helmet; normally it is a bright flash of whitish/yellow light, but during a critical attack they glow red instead.

Awakening: After discovering on her own that the rancher she works for may be selling horses on the black market, working within a criminal racing/betting scheme and abusing some of their animals, Velma confronts the ranch owner with the evidence she’d gathered and observations she’d made. He angrily tells her to stop making accusations and to mind her own business, belittling her intelligence and saying that a dumb hick like her shouldn’t poke her nose in the business affairs of her boss. After posting on the Phantom Thieves site, she overhears Makoto and Ann covertly discussing a previous mission in English and decides to seek them out in-person. She sees that a new app has been installed on her phone and is transported to Mementos alongside Makoto and Ann when she accidentally activates it. 

Shadows ambush the three of them, and Velma manages to help Ann and Makoto as best as she can without a Persona. After discovering she has access to the Nav, they meet with the others and the group tentatively decides to bring Velma along for the mission.   After entering the ranch owner’s palace, Velma angrily confronts him once again for his corruption and mistreatment of the horses. His Shadow insults her again, mocking her by saying he only hired her for her own horselike work ethic, the fact that as a foreigner he could pay her less than a Japanese employee without much of an issue, and that he’s impressed a hick like her could have figured out his scheme all on her own. Sick of being underestimated, she awakens her Persona and helps the others defeat him.

Likes: Homemade food, horseback riding, concept art books for movies and games she likes, the Fallout series, old bookstores, trying new things, animals, children, movies that are so bad they’re good, wildlife documentaries, alligators and other crocodilians

Dislikes: Being underestimated, stereotypes, people who hurt animals or kids, being interrupted, swimming pools (the feeling of chlorine makes her die inside), people who are a bit too sweet/kind in that strange/almost condescending/nongenuine way (Akechi and Shido make her feel…weird whenever they’re on television). She also has a slight mistrust of politicians and the elite, partially because of her dislike of condescending people and because of her family’s history. She’s trying to work on that bias though.

Esther Pacifyer - Phantom Blood OC

I did say something about Phantom Blood OCs last night, right? Well, ahaha-

Let me say some things. I was struggling to pull out a story because PB have such a “tight space” in terms of location? (I mean, there’s still Tibet but mostly just in the U K-) It was quite hard to find some examples of part 1 OC because there was so much little. Lastly, I tried not to give her too much frills, ribbons bows and accessories and no laces because... I am not drawing laces in a JJBA OC- I know she’s supposed to somewhat looks like a doll but I don’t want to abuse that power with a JJBA OC, especially with PB (I have an OC with a stand relating to dolls and she don’t even wear Lolita)

So... Where do we start?

I was struggling with the name but I landed on Esther because everyone around me and myself agreed on that name. Her surname, Pacifyer, is a musical reference to Melanie Martinez’s song, “Pacify Her” (I have about 2 things referencing Melanie’s songs and albums already, and if you read Pacify Her very quickly, you will hear Pacifyer, trust me on t h i s-)

Remember Erina’s doll that her father bought for her at the beginning of the series? Yeah. This girl (now woman-) is the daughter of the doll maker! Because of that she gets to know Erina. So, the domino effect of this is Erina introducing her to Jonathan, and Jonathan introduce her to Dio.

When she was young, she likes to play indoor most of the time that her father made for her, like a doll tea party and whatever... girls do with dolls-

After she met Erina, she would be playing outside more often, but that kind of died down after Erina met Jonathan, although she still got to know Jonathan and Dio.

Since she hasn’t been out with Erina as much as she used to, she started to play with her dolls again and helping her family with the business. At the age of around 13-14, her father made her another doll(in the picture, she’s sitting on Esther’s shoulder), it was her favourite doll. Esther named the doll “Marjorie”. She has been creating some dolls of her own, she keep some of them, some of them were sold on her own will.

As in her personality and attitudes, she is a curious person, so she would be exploring around her house just to see if she would find anything. Although she looks like a quiet person, she actually speaks very well and is polite and friendly. Although, getting her annoyed is not hard, but she would try to cover it up with politeness of hers.

In a way, she looks like a doll. Some people even call her Dolly, which she has no problem with, but she don't understand why that is her nickname... Despite her liking to dress like a doll from time to time-
