It's Wednedsay, back to doggie daycare!
It’s Wednesday and that means it’s doggie daycare time! And they…LOVE it! We started taking them to Glamourous K9s a few months ago, some time after we moved into the house, and…conviently enough, it’s very close to the house, score! They were going every Wednesday and then they stayed at doggie daycamp or they were boarded when we went to the USVI over the holidays. They loved that too! Lots…

Directly riffing off this post, my brain wouldn’t stop. The idea of Jason furiously becoming a superstar HR manager for his goons gives me such pure joy.
The Adventures of Jason Todd And His Goons
Jason: “Shut the FUCK UP. What do you mean you’ve never had dental cover? This is fucking bullshit. Get me the paperwork right now, do I have to do everything my fucking self? God. You have three kids, right? Of course they’re going on your fucking plan, what do you think this is?”
Jason: “You guys want fucking CAKE on your birthdays? Are you shitting me right now? Are you fucking looking me in the eye and asking for cake on your birthday? You’re not fucking WORKING on your birthday, dumbshit, that’s a paid day off. Buy your own damn cake, eat it with your family, Jesus Christ.”
Jason: “Is that a dog? Did you bring a fucking dog in here? What the everloving pissfuck. Who decided to have a bring your pet to work day and not tell me so I could have treats ready for the very good boy, yes you are, you’re a very good boy. See now I feel like an asshole, I don’t have a treat for you, and you’re such a beautiful doggy yes you are, yes you are. I’m only gonna say this once: EVERY day is now bring your pet to work day. EVERY DAMN DAY.”
Jason: “Did someone set up a crib over there? Is that a crib in my warehouse next to the fridge where we keep our severed heads and leftover bean casseroles? Steve! STEVE! Show the new guy where the daycare room is. Jesus Christ. It’s like I didn’t spend four days last winter teaching you fucks about how to induct the new guys.”
Jason: “Someone signed us up to have a FLOAT IN THE PRIDE PARADE? I’ve been voted a fucking EMPLOYER OF CHOICE??? Fuck. The bar is so low, man. I just treat people with basic human fucking respect… Shouldn’t get a fucking award for that. And who the hell signed us up for this with only two weeks’ notice, how the fuck am I meant to make a custom rainbow helmet in two weeks? You think this shit’s gonna bedazzle itself? There better be a hot glue gun in my hand in the next three minutes or I swear to god I’m cancelling paintball this week.”

BG3 RAMBLES #1
Starts with Gale epilogue commentary and quickly divulges into how feral of a man he is below the cut
I absolutely love how Gale becomes a teacher like he's implied he's always dreamed of. But let me just go off about what happens if you choose to marry him but not to live in Waterdeep.
He's a smooth talker as always, but his word choice implies he's been having the time of his life, like a social dog set loose in a dog park/doggy daycare kind of time of his life.
I haven't seen all the dialogue options yet, but I love how excited he is to loot books during adventures. Imagine going dungeon crawling, getting a kick from finding ancient tomes to trashy novels. Actually, me too my dude. He mentions that he has collected enough literature to fill a dozen libraries? Hello?! The Tav 100% got him a Bag of Holding at some point, maybe even as a wedding gift.
I know every playthrough with Gale is different, but everything I've gathered about him amplified by my own gameplay just makes him the ultimate orange cat of a man. I swear this man gets zoomies, but its never obvious until you're standing there, eyes wide open and jaw dropped, because he did something completely feral that you did not forsee.
When he said, "I always wondered what it would feel like to be nervous", I initially thought, "Oh, Gale, beanie baby man. You have been nervous though??? Everyone has at some point?". But then I think about all the things he has said and done and just wonder... "Okay, maybe he was completely dead serious about that".
Like for example, immediately after he says he's nervous and asks for advice on what to say to Mystra, of course Marcio tells him to not give away anything. We need more information right? That and Marcio wants to cuss her out, but he knows that might get Gale in trouble, but he also doesn't want Gale to apologize to Mystra, and he doesn't want Gale to become a god, so yah know.
Not two seconds in after being terrified of this lady, he finds out about the crown's abilities and says the equivalent of, "ha ha, you're afraid of me >:)" to the goddess who is like 5 inches away from his face. EXCUSE ME? SIR? WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? GALE?!?! GALE!!!
Or how about when Raphael wants to make that deal, giving Raphael the crown and all that. Me thinking, "Oh, I wonder what Gale is thinking. Giving the crown to Raphael would sentence Gale to death, so—" and then Gale immediately going into attack dog mode yelling over Marcio's shoulder that Raphael is a bitch who shouldn't be given anything.
Oh! And don't forget! Lorroakan insulting Gale as being Mystra's lapdog, only for Gale to smile and calmly brag he's about to kick Mystra's ass and maybe take her domain. Gale. Sweet, sweet Gale. What the fuck are you doing?
Thank you, Gale. I never need to wonder what your opinion is.
His AI also feral (for me at least):
He's constantly climbing on top of things.
He's the only one who has managed to fall off of something and take fall damage. No idea how though. He was off screen. I just heard a scream and then saw he took 4 damage.
When he's blinded, he immediately takes out his staff like he's about to hit someone with it. No, not to feel around so he can move safely. He holds it like a baseball bat and aggressively wobbles it around ready to strike. SIR! PLEASE!
He can't spot a trap to save his life and always walks into the bombs.
Can't pass any of his history checks with a 17 in intelligence, but his boyfriend with a 9 can.
I'm sure there is more, but I only got 3 hours of sleep and wrote this after an paper for ethics. I'm losing my mind.

Hey I'm looking to get a cane corso in the next couple of years. I'm a pretty small person but I work at a dog daycare with plenty of large dog breeds so i don't think size is a major concern for me. I love obedience training, joring sports, outdoor adventures, and I'm looking for a gaurd dog who doesn't react excessively (like some gsds, mals, and dobies I've met). I'd love to hear about you're experience with Vino and any other corsos you've met before. Do you experience any negative stigma? Are they as crazy as many "loaded gun" dog owners say they are (like with malinois)? How big is Vino and how strong is she? Is she quick to learn? Does a dog like that require more work than other working gaurd dogs other than because of size? I hope I'm not too interrogative 😅 thanks!
Hey thanks for the ask! It sounds like a Corso might be a perfect fit for you! Corsi are like many big working breeds where the breeder you get your dog from makes all the difference. You can get a Corso who is all of your worst fears and more, or you can get one like Vino who improves the lives of everyone she meets forever. I’m only exaggerating a little
For sure there is some negative stigma just like with any large dog breed. Mostly though I get people asking what she is. I get many more negative reactions about my German shepherd Maverick.
Corsi in my experience are not hyped up dogs, much more steady and consistent than a mal or a dutchie or even a working line shepherd. They have a lot in common with Doberman but in my experience are less prone to reactivity and anxiety. But again that can totally depend on your individual dog.
Vino is 90lbs and is a little small, but not by much. People think corsi should be as large as possible but the bigger they are the less they can work. Also the people interested in making them crazy huge usually don’t care about other more important things like health, temperament, etc. She is crazy strong and super muscular, but she uses her strength to work with me not against me, which I was careful to do on purpose. Also it helps that she has Maverick to wrestle with, cuz they are so close in size she can really put her whole body into it.
Vino is crazy smart and picks up stuff super quick. It constantly surprises me, the first time I give her a reward for something she is like “okay cool I’ll do that thing all the time now no problem”. She learns quick and it sticks around in her brain. I’ve never worked with another dog who is so good at both the learning and the applying. She is an amazing sport dog and training partner.
I don’t think Corsi are crazy different from other similar breeds. They care very much about being your partner/teammate. They want to be involved in your life. Setting appropriate boundaries with behavior and with their body is important, especially when they are a puppy, but that’s true of all big dogs. Remember that they are usually dog neutral and or same sex aggressive, so don’t get one expecting it to be a doggy daycare dog. And socialize with that in mind, neutral experiences around other dogs are super important.
I could talk about Cane Corso and my dogs all day long, feel free to ask more questions or dm me. Also I know a lot of amazing breeders so if you want to tell me where ish you live I may be able to recommend someone
Thanks for the ask! Here is a silly baby pic

After five and a half months working in Evanston, I finally managed to get a job in my own neighborhood! It's gonna be such a relief to not have to spend over an hour on a bus and two trains getting to work every day. The new job is a 10-15 minute bike ride away.

Alaskan Klee Kai: The Mini Husky with a Big Heart
Tumblr media
The Alaskan Klee Kai, with its moniker translating to “small dog” in Inuit, might just be the answer to your pint-sized Husky dreams. This adorable pup packs a playful punch in a compact body, offering a loyal companion perfect for active families. But don’t be fooled by their cute looks – Klee Kai possess the intelligence and spirit of their working dog ancestors, making them a breed that thrives on engagement and adventure.
Mini Me, Big Personality
So, you’re smitten with the Siberian Husky, but your living space or lifestyle isn’t quite cut out for a majestic snow sled puller. Enter the Alaskan Klee Kai! Developed in the 1970s, this breed was meticulously crafted to resemble a miniature Husky, boasting a thick double coat that comes in similar colors and markings. Their wedge-shaped head and erect ears complete the Husky illusion, but in a size that’s much more manageable for apartment living or exploring bustling city streets.
However, don’t let their miniature stature fool you. Klee Kai come in three sizes: toy, miniature, and standard. Even the standard size maxes out at around 20 pounds, making them a true “small dog” by definition. But beneath that fluffy exterior lies a heart brimming with personality. These lively pups are known for their playful antics, vocal nature (get ready for some charming “Klee Kai conversations”), and unwavering loyalty.
A Legacy of Intelligence and Independence
The Alaskan Klee Kai’s ancestry is a fascinating mix, with Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute influences playing a significant role. This working dog heritage means they’re intelligent, alert, and possess a strong independent streak. They crave mental stimulation and physical activity, making them excellent candidates for dog sports like agility or obedience training. Their intelligence also means they can be quite stubborn at times, so patience and positive reinforcement are key during training sessions.
This independent spirit also translates to their need for companionship. Klee Kai don’t do well left alone for extended periods. They form strong bonds with their humans and thrive on interaction. If you lead a busy lifestyle, consider crate training or doggy daycare to ensure your furry friend gets the attention they crave.
Klee Kai Care: Keeping Your Mini Husky Happy
Living with an Alaskan Klee Kai is an enriching experience, but it’s important to be prepared to meet their needs. Here’s a quick guide to keeping your mini Husky happy and healthy:
Exercise: Klee Kai are energetic dogs with a love for adventure. Daily walks, playtime in a secure yard, and engaging activities like fetch or puzzle toys are essential for their physical and mental well-being.
Training: Their intelligence makes them quick learners, but their independent streak can make training a dance. Positive reinforcement methods with consistent practice are the way to go.
Grooming: Their double coat requires minimal maintenance, with a weekly brushing session usually sufficient. However, expect seasonal shedding – twice a year, your Klee Kai will transform into a personal furminator!
Socialization: Early socialization is crucial for any dog, but especially for Klee Kai. Expose them to different people, animals, and situations from a young age to ensure they grow into well-adjusted companions.
Living with a Vocal Companion
One thing to remember is that Klee Kai are known to be vocal. They might “talk” to you, expressing themselves with a variety of barks, howls, and even yodels. While charming, it’s something to consider if you live in close quarters or have noise restrictions.
Klee Kai vs Siberian Husky: Picking Your Perfect Pup
If your heart is set on a Husky, but practicality whispers sweet nothings about a smaller pup, you might be torn between the Alaskan Klee Kai and the Siberian Husky. Here’s a quick breakdown to help you decide:
Size: This is the biggest difference. Klee Kai come in three sizes, all significantly smaller than the Siberian Husky.
Energy Level: Both breeds are energetic, but Klee Kai require slightly less exercise due to their smaller stature.
Temperament: Siberian Huskies exhibit outgoing personalities, whereas Klee Kai tend to be slightly more reserved with strangers.
Vocalization: Expect both breeds to be vocal, but Klee Kai might take the cake in this department.
Ultimately, the best breed for you depends on your lifestyle and preferences. If you can provide an active, engaging environment and appreciate a chatty companion, the Alaskan Klee Kai might be your perfect match.
Is an Alaskan Klee Kai Right for You?
The Alaskan Klee Kai is a delightful dog breed, offering a captivating blend of playfulness, intelligence, and loyalty in a manageable size. However, their working dog heritage means they require dedicated owners who can provide them with the exercise, mental stimulation, and companionship they crave.

Otto’s Epic Adventure at the Amusement Park written by Sue A. Stewart with art by Anna Duda
Tumblr media
Otto’s Epic Adventure at the Amusement Park written by Sue A. Stewart with art by Anna Duda is a funny and easy-to-read rhyming adventure. The art is cute and colourful while the storyline is easy-to-follow. There are also some great activities like a word find and word matching game to really get little readers involved.
Little Tom and his family are heading out to have a fun-filled day at the amusement park. Loyal dog Otto is excited to go to the park too but is sad when he has to stay at doggie daycare. However, Otto refuses to be left behind! He sets out on a fun-filled trip through the amusement park to find Tom.
This is an entertaining and quick book! I really enjoyed the first book in the series and this one is a wonderful follow-up. Otto is such a cute and loyal dog to his owner Tom! Otto’s exciting adventure through the amusement park is a fun and quite mischievous romp. The simple and easy-to-read rhyming storyline as well as the short sentences and dialogue make this book very approachable for kids. For the most part, the rhymes are successful but there are a few times when they feel a little forced and do not flow very naturally.
I really enjoyed Duda’s bright full-page illustrations! The amusement park scenes are colourfully eye-catching. Kids will love seeing all the fun and exciting rides like the Ferris Wheel and Haunted House that may be familiar to them. I particularly love the pet parade and all the animals in their cute costumes! Adorable Otto is so sweet–I love his impromptu costume!
Thank you to NetGalley for this book in exchange for an honest review.
🎡🎡🎡🎡🎡 out of 5 ferris wheels!
