I teased this character on my Instagram story yesterday and I couldn’t wait to share him, so I’m actually making a tumblr post for once. The ref is probably really crunched in quality because it’s absolutely massive, so rip to all my hours working on it :/

I tagged this with body horror and gore cw’s because I don’t know what’s worth censoring and warning for in the realms of gore and body horror. theres a drawing of his arm that looks like it got cut off so that i can show his blood color (its not red), and he has a few more eyes than normal. Are these worth censoring in the future, or are they mild enough to not worry about?

Anyways, meet Obsidian. Ive had this character in the works for quite a while now. He’s had a private toyhouse page for almost four months now, but I’ve finally found the motivation to make a proper design for him. I actually got about halfway through a ref sheet of him once before, but i lost motivation and when i came back to it I didn’t like how it was turning out so i started over.

Obsidian is a generally mysterious and powerful being who’s job is to keep an eye on time, space, and the multiverse. They go by He/They pronouns, and are an unknown species. It’s assumed that they’re some sort of cross between a deer and a dog, but this is unconfirmed.

He’s based off of a twisted head cannon version of the Watchers from the Minecraft youtuber Grian’s Evo smp series. I watched Grians Evo play through a long time ago, and i got inspired by the concept of the watchers. Over time i made fan designs and headcanons to the point where my version of the watchers resembles the original in namesake alone.

I finally got around to painting my #converse Im supper happy with how they turned out i just jeed to spray a few coats of shoe guard water replant stuff on them then ill have a few pics of me wearing them to come.
