In a previous response to an ask, you mentioned Murdoc being a fallen angel who's been repeatedly reincarnated over different time periods. I'm aware of the reincarnation bit (and the Book of Man) but I was wondering where it's mentioned that Murdoc is a fallen angel, or if its something that's just been hinted/a personal theory of yours? It's really interesting to me and makes me sad that the plastic beach lore wasn't more fleshed out!

Hello! I had to look through the archives for this. It's been a long time! But it was fun, because it takes me back. So, Cass goes into detail about the scrapped PB/Murdoc story in his episode of the podcast, Hallelujah Monkeyz. You can listen to it here. I also summarized it here. I do want to correct this excerpt:

"Murdoc was supposed to be an “immortalist” who has been and continues to be reincarnated into the worst parts of history because an earlier ancestor (possible Satan? Or someone similar? Basically Murdoc is descended from a fallen angel I guess?) of his was kicked out of heaven and he’s inherited their punishment (which uh, on a personal note works out GREAT for me. I almost died when I read this lmao)."

The ancestor are implied to be reincarnations of Murdoc, so I don't think they're his ancestors, but different versions of him. So, that's what makes him the fallen angel, though idk how much he remembers - I haven't thought too deeply about this in a minute.

Anyhow, I've always liked this as an ending for Gorillaz, even though it can never be at this point. To co-sign the anon from years ago - it does give me some Black Swan vibes. I can so see Murdoc in his death scene, whispering, 'It was perfect," with a satisfied grin on his face lol. I also love the generational curse trope - though in this specific case, it's one individual - Murdoc - carrying the curse through different reincarnations. It drives home how tragic a character he is, even if he doesn't see it that way. But being put on earth to bring nothing but chaos and pain? And not having a choice in the matter? Then the whole part with him making the choice to rebel against that anyway. He could have been an amazing anti-hero.

That being said, I'm still very attached to the idea of Murdoc being fully human, limited by human weakness and flaws, stuck on a hamster wheel of chasing levels greatness and success that are impossible to achieve, I would make the exception for Cass's ending (and actually following through Gorillaz ending). It all fits so well into what Gorillaz was at the time. But, uh, I guess at least we get more Gorillaz on this timeline...

In This Moment is one of my all time favourite metal bands, and since they have toured with ice nine (and have a collab song!!!) it might be fun to start there! Some of my faves from them include Blood, Adrenalize, Whore, Natural Born Sinner, Dirty Pretty, and Sex Metal Barbie

Then The Devil Wears Prada is a bit more modern metalcore, so their songs can run lighter, but ever since I heard Sacrifice I have been OBSESSED with them. Their latest album is all really good, but standouts to me include Cancer, Salt, and Exhibitor. Chemicals is an earlier song of theirs, but also a really fucking good one

Sleep Token!! Oh my god sleep token. I would honestly recommend their whole discography to you if I could, but some overall faves are Vore, High Water, Distraction, Ascensionism, The Night Does Not Belong To God, Nazareth, and Granite

The Plot In You’s entire Swan Song album is another fucking banger, with standout songs for me being Face Me, Paradigm, and Enemy. Divide, Forgotten, and Closure are also huge faves

Wage War! I got to see them live and it was life changing. Grave is definitely one of their lighter songs overall, but Manic, Godspeed, and Hellbent are also top notch

Motionless in White are also really close to INK - both in that they toured together, and also because one of MIW’s guitarists used to work with INK! I love their entire disguise album (Another Life and Brand New Numb my beloveds), but I also enjoy Reincarnate, Cyberhex, Cause of Death, and Not My Type: Dead as Fuck 2

Bad Omens! Bad omens. There’s not much I can say about them other than they are peak - their entire DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND album is musical genius and a no-skip all around for me. Out of their older music, I also enjoy Never Know, Exit Wounds, Limits, and Burning Out

Architects. Black Lungs, Seeing Red, Giving Blood, and Curse are all really good - they have some fun political themes in their music

IMMINENCE. They make me cry. Frequently. They have no right to be so emotional and heavy at the same time. Absolutely love Infectious, Erase, The Black, Proclaim, Those Who Seek, Come What May, Surrender, and Allieviate

Spiritbox is a band I’m more recently getting into, but MAN are they so damn good. Holy Roller, Sunkiller, Rotoscope, and Angel Eyes are all favourites - Too Close / Too Late is also really good

Slipknot is definitely a more household name, but if you haven’t heard much of them: Custer, Vermillion, Unsainted, People = Shit, Spit it Out and (sic)

Also pretty well known is Bring Me The Horizon - I’ve been really in love with Kool-Aid lately, die4u is an all time fave, and Parasite Eve, 1x1, in the dark, True Friends, Doomed, and Antivist are all up there

Going a bit (a Lot) heavier: Lorna Shore. Musical geniuses. I’ve never heard a man do guttural vocals the way Will Ramos does. Their entire Pain Remains album is SOOOO good (in particular, Sun//Eater and Pain Remains I), but To the Hellfire and Of the Abyss are also life changing

In the same vein as Lorna Shore, Angelmaker. God the things I could say about Angelmaker. Leech is an allll time fave from them, but In Death, Godless, and Dissientient are up there too

I read it and omg it turned out amazing like the way you described Valentino’s and Velvette’s demon form has a chokehold on me I never really see people portray Velvette as an actual doll too much it’s mostly just a comment that’s it so you just going all out on that was so good and Valentino being the one with the cool head during this was nice but also fitting normally people would make Val a brainless idiot or a manipulative dick so him being just calm and strangely scary was a nice change but I can totally see him being more like a evil all his moves are calculated type overlord whenever someone he honestly cares about is at stake or hurt we really just need more found family vees but Vox literally just letting himself get kidnapped was such a pleasant surprise I didn’t expect myself to be so spot on about the fact Vox really has more control over the situation and don’t get me started on Alastor I just love the way you always give Vox and Alastor a muse x painter dynamic so this story was just the epitome of that trope but come on Alastor don’t be stingy let the vees go to y’all’s wedding another thing I love dramatic stories but it’s always so funny thinking what the other characters think like can you imagine Charlie’s confusion when Vel says he kidnapped Vox and he just like yeah I did lol Lucifer coming in to save Charlie he probably doesn’t really care about what’s happening let alone knows. haha thank you!! i based velvettes demon form off those like, old stories about those haunted dolls like annabelle and such. i think the dichotomy between a sinners regular and demon form is such an interesting concept to explore- i think personally that a sinner's demon form is their 'true' self-- since so many sinners and overlords especially wear a mask to hide their true faces, when they turn to their full demon form they shed that mask in a sense. from vals actions in masquerade, i developed this headcanon that val is the type of person who throws little tantrums for fun, but when he gets Really angry, his anger is cold and calculating more than anything. in that way, he's a lot like vox, except... well, vox is able to keep more of a lid on things most of the time because he Has To as the face of the vees. so yeah, i def agree with you! found family vees really does have my heart, they're the worst and they love each other <3

lol well including everyone involved with the show would be difficult, but I’ll give you some highlights

Eric Kripke: creator of Supernatural, showrunner for seasons 1-5. People have differing opinions about him but general people enjoyed his run and he’s considered the best showrunner in the series overall. Not much to say because there’s a lot to say lmao (notable episodes: “Pilot,” “Lazarus Rising,” and “Swan Song”)

Sera Gamble: writer who was involved from the beginning of the show, became showrunner after Kripke left. Her seasons, 6 and 7, are typically regarded as the weakest seasons. She was a huge brothers-only supporter, and was responsible for Misha being written out of the show (as well as Jim Beaver, Bobby) in order to get the show to just be about the brothers again. There’s a lot of drama regarding her treatment of Misha/Cas, but more recently she’s known for the Magicians debacle, a horrendous example of the Bury Your Gays trope. She’s also involved with (the showrunner of?) You on Netflix. She was a pretty good writer, but overall fans dislike her because of her showrunning tenure (notable episodes: “Faith” with Raelle Tucker, “Death’s Door,” “The Born-Again Identity”)

Jeremy Carver: writer from season 3 that was promoted to showrunner from seasons 8 through.... some time in 12, the timeline has been a little murky to me. He was the one who brought Cas back into the main plot, as well as allowing the deancas storyline to become genuine subtext (we can argue whether it was queerbaiting or what he was intending to do if he had been running the series finale, but yeah). Unfortunately, he was also the showrunner when Charlie was killed off brutally, which dampens his legacy. People are conflicted about his seasons, but generally he’s looked upon favorably (not related, but the picture that comes up when you search him on google is NOT him, he’s really like a typical white nerdy looking dude lol) (notable episodes: “The Rapture,” “Sacrifice,” “Do You Believe in Miracles?”)

Andrew Dabb: writer from season 4, promoted to showrunner during season 12 and is the last showrunner of Supernatural (he wrote the finale). He was well-liked by deancas fans for awhile because of how much screentime they were allowed to give, and because of the focus on extended/found family. Sam and Dean only fans didn’t like him for the same reasons. Unfortunately, HIS legacy has been marred by the awful series finale, though it’s debated whether that was his fault or because of network meddling. (notable episodes: “Dark Side of the Moon” with Daniel Loflin, “The Prisoner,” “Moriah”)

Robert Singer: executive producer since the beginning of the show (he’s also co-showrunner throughout Supernatural, but I don’t think he typically was involved with the plotlines too often). He’s directed quite a few episodes, including the infamous wire fight episode (s13 finale) as well as the series finale. Married to Eugenie Ross-Leming, writer of the show

Eugenie Ross-Leming/Brad Buckner: writing partners TECHNICALLY from season 1, but they only wrote one episode until they were brought back in season 7. They are regarded as the worst writers in all of Supernatural, responsible for tactless death scenes of fan-favorites (and typically minorities) like Kevin, Charlie, and Eileen. They also feature a gross amount of dubcon/noncon, racism, weird unnecessary sex stuff, and are SUPER into Lucifer for some unknown reason (they have a crush on Mark Pellegrino I guess). They’re also just kind of bad writers in general, their pacing is weird and their plots convoluted. To be fair, though, they have written some good moments, like Dean trying to reach Cas in Hell’s Angel and Dean’s confessional scene in Paint It Black. But overall, they suck. Why are they still on the show even though BOTH sides of the fandom (who never agree on ANYTHING) dislike them? Well, because Eugenie is married to Singer. Nepotism. (notable episodes, the ones I can stand to watch lmao: “Holy Terror,” “Hell’s Angel,” “Our Father Who Aren’t in Heaven”)

Ben Edlund: writer from season 2 who left after season 8, but people STILL talk about him simply because he is arguably the strongest writer of the series. Cas fans particularly like him because he did most of the heavy-lifting regarding Cas’ characterization. He also wrote the famous bi!Dean scene with Aaron in season 8, where Dean is flustered after being flirted with. (notable episodes: “On the Head of a Pin,” “The French Mistake,” and my all-time favorite “The Man Who Would Be King”)

Robert “Bobo” Berens: writer from season 9, his first episode was “Heaven Can’t Wait,” which is all you really need to know about his influence on the deancas storyline. He’s also gay, so people particularly enjoy seeing how he approaches destiel in his episodes since it’s not just another straight guy potentially just catering to fans. He was also the one who was meant to go off and run Wayward Sisters, and is responsible for a lot of their development in recent seasons. I believe he also created Rowena? He wrote the episode this season where Cas confesses his love to Dean (along with other heavy deancas episodes like “The Trap”). Sam fans typically don’t like him because he doesn’t give him much focus. (notable episodes: “Heaven Can’t Wait,” “Who We Are,” “Wayward Sisters” with Andrew Dabb)

Steve Yockey: writer from season 12 through the beginning of season 15. Also gay, and also responsible for deancas moments in recent years. Generally loved for his deancas subtext but ALSO because he is an amazing writer who came out with iconic episodes. (notable episodes: “Celebrating the Life of Asa Fox,” “Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets,” “Peace of Mind” with Meghan Fitzmartin)

Robbie Thompson: writer from seasons 7 through 11, and wrote some fan favorite episodes in the meantime. He is also the creator of fan favorite characters like Charlie and Eileen. He was also one of the few writers who was vocally supportive of destiel during his tenure rather than just later. I’m not implying anything about his intentions, but it was validating for him to encourage fans during a time where most of the cast/crew ignored or actively dismissed it. Plus his episodes are just fun! (notable episodes: “LARP and the Real Girl,” “Fan Fiction,” “Baby”)

Meredith Glynn: writer since season 12, has worked closely with Bobo during their seasons together. She and Bobo cowrote “The Future,” which is the mixtape episode, so she has been taken in by deancas fans haha. She also wrote the episode where Cas makes the deal with the Empty, so it’s pretty safe to say she and Bobo had worked on the deancas plotline together :) She’s also liked some deancas-related tweets on twitter, so she’s being subtly supportive (notable episodes: “Regarding Dean,” “The Future” with Robert Berens, “Byzantium”)

Davy Perez: writer since season 12 (a lot of the ones I’ve mentioned are, since this is when Dabb became showrunner and made changes in the writers room). His episodes tend to either be horror or bizarre. I mention him because he’s responsible for episodes like “Stuck in the Middle (With You)” (Cas’ first “I love you”) and “Tombstone” (aka Brokebacknatural lmao). I don’t know much about him otherwise, but that’s why he’s brought up usually (notable episodes: “Stuck in the Middle (With You),” “Tombstone,” “Atomic Monsters”)

also let’s you mess around in his production studio, and maybe even lets you help him compose a few tracks

if you aren’t a rapper he probably teaches you some basics about rapping and later on becomes a proud dad when you show off in front of the other members

he also probably makes tae jealous too lmao, give the boy some love

if you’re upset or angry at the other members he’s one of two members that can calm you down, just because he’s really calm and knows how to handle your emotions

also definitely spoils you with snacks and drinks too

and he’s also the reason why you develop led your evil maknae side

back then you were so shy and pure but then he came into your life with his savage ways and sarcastic remarks. he rubbed off of you too much

also if anyone dares to hurt you he’s throwing hands. this bitch is really scary, he will give haters a death glare if they even LOOK at you

you definitely cling onto him like a baby sloth at times when you’re in the clingy mood, and he just kinda lets you hang onto him until you go to another member

and he also teases you at times to when he’s feeling pretty bold

such as your height or your age and this sometimes leads to insult battles, it’s a 50/50 win for the most part

back then when you were really shy, hoseok was the first to approach you and ever since then you’ve become a happy ball of fluff

he definitely hugs you a lot and does a lot of aegyo with you, or even hug you to show that you’re not alone

this man loves his energetic drink and he will forever love someone who gets him that monstrous drink

you probably tried to give him monster energy at one point but he complained about the battery acid taste

LOVES spoiling you with gifts, try not to let him spoil you too much or the other members might get jealous

when you’re feeling under the weather he will be there in a flash to make sure you’re well enough and give you some chocolate to make you a bit happier

both you and him also play a lot of games together with jungkook, and a lot of screaming to

the others think you’re getting murdered at times it’s funny

tae would also initiate skinship with you, though not as much as jimin, he prefers to just hug you and hold your hand

also if you’re a rapper he definitely asks you to teach him how to rap and sometimes it can be so chaotic

taehyung would be a really good friend to you and like a warm older brother

you and jungkook are the maknaes on top, even though there’s a one year difference

despite your close relationship, you two didn’t get along at first due to different views on certain things

but overtime your relationship mended and now the two of you are the closest friends can get

due to your young ages you use this to your advantage to get anything you want from the members

also, take your pranking with jimin and multiply that by a million cause hoo boy you two cause A LOT of chaos

skinship and platonic kisses for days off camera. he really loves you a lot and just prefers to show it off camera cause he’s a shy baby

you steal his hoodies and shirts a lot cause they are comfy and he either complains or just lets you take them

yeah you guys are that close, and the other members haven’t fully accomplished a feat like that yet so they are amazed

jungkook also is pretty possessive of your guy’s friendships and often scares off others, even his fellow 97 liners

but in reality he’s just a soft bunny baby that doesn’t want you to leave him

you two probably had some dating rumors surrounding you, but at the end of the day nothing will change your guy’s amazing friendship

Twilight Headcanon: Everyone is a Thriving Adult

I wrote a brief version of this headcanon, but the post I just reblogged inspired me to write the whole thing. 

Bella is currently finishing up her last year of graduate school. She received a bachelor’s, master’s, and is working on a PhD because she’s driven and she’s that bitch. She started out majoring in literature, received her master’s degree in something to do with literature but also maybe history idk, and a PhD in something else related (y’all I’m lazy and don’t want to do the full research for this, I’m not a writer lmao). Anyway, she goes on to become a literary historian. She partied it up in college, dated around, had a few relationships. Made some mistakes. Dyed her hair a few times. Got some tattoos. Like a bitch was really living. As she is getting older and is around 26, she decides to move in the same town as her father as he has retired and is getting older. Bella gets an amazing job working as a literary historian in the area and becomes the most sought after literary historian in the pacific northwest (and arguably, the entire country). 

Edward was changed at 28 years old. It still happened the same way. Prior to being changed, Edward had taken a few classes at the local college and was working as a bookkeeper for a local newspaper company and played piano at the local theatre. Seeing as Carlisle rescued him from certain death, he desperately wanted to follow in Carlisle’s footsteps and be a doctor. He always admired Carlisle’s self-control and his ability to help save lives. Despite this desire, he never fully trusted himself to work with patients directly, so Edward decided to instead major in archaeology. This has allowed him to study humanity throughout the ages as well as their cultures and customs. He has been able to learn about various types of medicine through the ages. Though he usually does not go out on digs, due to the direct sunlight involved with many of them. When his boss asks him about it, he chalks it up to a skin condition which would undoubtedly put him in the hospital if he had too much direct sun exposure. No one ever really questions it, seeing as he’s so pale in the first place. Edward is able to share his findings with Carlisle and the two often work together to try to find new cures and understand more about what makes humans tick. 

Bella and Edward meet when Edward is trying to analyze some old writings, but he has no cultural context for them so he can’t truly make sense of their intent. Hearing about this young and impressive literary historian, he seeks out Isabella Swan. She is able to find several books which will help Edward to analyze the writings that were discovered. The two meet up at a little Italian restaurant in Port Angeles where they share ideas. Over conversation, the two realize that they have much in common. The main thing is their compassion for humanity. This is what drives them to be successful at what they do. Bella strives to do so through education, whereas Edward tries to do so through discovery. They also connect over a mutual love of history. They decide to meet again and continue to get to know each other more and more. They fall in love naturally, as if both of them were human. After their initial meeting, though, Bella recalls a recent conversation she had with a client named Jacob Black (who was also a dear childhood friend) (also they’re just friends and there’s no love triangle and that’s that). He was discussing some of the Quileute legends with her and asking how to best preserve them while ensuring they are protected under intellectual property law. Briefly, she thinks he may have mentioned the name Cullen, but Bella brushes it off as a coincidence, though it doesn’t stop her from piecing the facts together over the next few months.

Husband watches Koi to Producer Recap, Episode #2

Good lord I wanted to smack him so many times during this episode. Buckle up because he is still not on team Gavin 🤦‍♀️ Spoilers and his thoughts under the cut: 

My husband’s comments are in bold. 

-meeting Victor- Oh Victor, what the heck! That carpet under your desk is TACKY! Who does that? Who does he think he is Joe Exotic?

-Asks me how old everyone is- Damn, everyone needs to get on Victor’s level. What do you mean by that? “Gavin is a cop…” “You don’t know everything yet!” “I’m just saying so far!” I am literally going to hurt him. 

-Lucien meeting, talking about LFG- “It means looking for group? So there is a lot of silly game references in here.”

“Kiki is Mako from Kill la Kill. She’s an idiot but adorable..” Lmao. “Lucien comes across as murder-y Bill Nye.” (I’m dying, he still doesn’t know a lot about the guys yet so I find this so funny.) 

-at the police station- Police officer is talking about how Gavin “floats around all day”  “Ha! Get it floating off! Gavin is Seto Kaiba from Yu Gi Oh, if he became a cop.”  Lol, I don’t even know 😂

“Hope those earrings are in regulation Officer.” Shut up Eric. My husband’s name is Eric btw XD 

-crime scene- MC “Gavin were you there yesterday?!” Eric: “Yeah I was off screen just floating in the air, like a Criss Angel reject.” Wtf 😂😂😂😂😂

-alley way where MC gets attacked- “He said jump MC! JUMP!”

-in the air- “I’m not even going to get into fast that wind has to be going for them to standing in that position. My rough math would in experience be around 240 mph wind, you can’t talk in the middle of that.” (he was a paratrooper in the military, but he is so judgey 🙄good lord it’s a game/anime, typical man.  )

-Kiro texting MC- Okay that was cute, I like Kiro. 

-at her apartment, seeing Lucien next door- “Bill Nye the murder guy! That’s what I think of when I see Lucien!” This is still freaking hilarious to me. 

-Black Swan scene- “Yeessssh, BS is a cult!” (welp, he’s in for a ride lmao)

-rating the guy’s baking photo- “Ok Kiro looks cute like always, but he is eating chocolate covered potato chips! (OMG I DIDN’T NOTICE THATTTTT) Victor has this whole group of pudding and Gavin like the rest of his life is trying not to fuck up this cake. And Lucien is over in his own complete world thinking of his murder cookies which he will eat after he kills people.” (I have no words, but he’s probably correct when it comes to Lulu lol!)

Final Thoughts: This episode was not named correctly it should’ve been named “Why Gavin blows.” (I am going to kill him.) Overall, I am actually impressed with this episode, it’s gone in the right direction to establish a plot. I find it funny how this is a “show” trying to be decent show, while also portraying a character who is trying to make a decent show. The irony! It’s good so far though!” 

My new mission to get him to like Gavin because if he keeps insulting him, he’s going to end up sleeping outside. Ha! See you next week for episode 3!

Family don’t End in blood.

You know, I haven’t been in the Supernatural Tumblr fandom long. Maybe about a year and a half? And there’s shitty people, and ship wars, and all the bs that comes with the territory. Yet there’s meticulously beautiful meta, ‘wig? snatched’ crack,  ingeniously immersive fics’ of deserving authors and amazingly awesome people in general too. But the show... 

Oh, I’ve been watching this show for years. Along with the cast shenanigans, the cons, the bloopers I’ve been a part of this huge beautiful troublesome funny quirky family since I was 12. And as I’m sure it’s true for everyone who loves this show, its characters and the spn family as much as I do - this show has gotten me through some shit. So coming home today, seeing the video from J2M and finding out season 15 is the last hurrah of this incredible series that feels more like an old friend than a TV show. Yeah. It's tough, and I was crying, still am a bit for more than a few reasons.

Once upon a time there was a girl...

An amazing, intelligent, funny, brave soul who never backed down and always stood up for what she believed was right. And in every aspect apart from blood, she was my big sister, and my best friend.

If you wanted a comparison, she was the dorky yet bad-ass elder brother Dean - we both adored pie - to my nerdy yet freakishly wise little sibling Sam - even though I’m the bi one out of both of us. I could keep going for days talking about her, and how bright of a celestial wavelength of intent she really was, but I’ll just sum it up with this...

I loved her very much.

We got each other into spn due to a dare, as I told her to steal her Dad’s Series collections, as he usually kept them out of reach from our cheeky paws (yes there was also porn, but surprisingly we left that alone). I thought it would be funny, especially since we had to YouTube how to pick a lock.

Never knew it would change my life forever. We found the first 3 seasons of Supernatural tucked away in a dusty corner, watched the first episode and never looked back.  

We manage to co-binge (after scrambling to buy the next two seasons) all the way up to S5 ep23 - the heartbreaking last Kripke farewell - “Swan Song”, whilst I believe Season 8 was still airing episodes. She wanted to make our ringtones “Hey Assbutt”; I just remember shaking my head and laughing, even now, even after I’d sobbed into her shoulder over... Well you guys know.

Though the one thing I vividly recall is perhaps the most important. She’d turned to me, and I was instantly suspicious, but she’d just knuckled my head and hugged me. Definite chick flick moment lmao. Then she gripped my pinkie tight and raised it in hers, and she made us both swear that no matter how many seasons, how much it made us laugh and rage and cry, we would stick around until the very last season. And no matter what, we would watch and laugh and rage and cry over the last episode of this show we both loved. Together.

Supernatural was our Impala, and our shared pact was the initials we scratched into it.    

Not long after that she was diagnosed with lung cancer.

For a while there everything was numb and horrible and inside it was...shit. Yet she always tried to put on that stupidly persistent brave face of hers, and she was trying so hard even though she shouldn’t have had to. Like Dean, I suppose. So I tried to try harder, to make her forget about the pain and the tears, and to remind her that she was still there. I tried.  

For her.

She went out with me and her Dad on her birthday to a parlour to get the anti-possession tattoo, and told me that when I was old enough she’d be right next to me when I got a matching one over my heart. We caught up to the - then - currently airing episodes whilst she was still in hospital undergoing chemo. I’d bring in my laptop and we’d stream them late into the night, I think we pissed the nurses off a bit too much with our slightly too loud reactions hehe.

Even though she got weaker and sicker, she never wanted me to stop watching episodes with her, until we were in the hiatus heading towards season 10. She kept saying that Dean would come back to himself eventually, that the ‘going black-berry eyes’ wouldn’t stick. That he always would, because he “loves his family too much”, is what she said.

And then a little while later, she was gone.

My best friend. My big sister. We never got to watch the next season, and we played ‘Wayward son’ at her funeral. Everyone who was close to us both knew the lyrics by that point, along with Led Zepp and a lot of the other  grunge/rock/metal bands she loved.

For a while I stopped watching the show. I was so angry, and lost, and it was so dark there for a bit. I though what was the point if she wasn't there to watch it with me? I think it was almost half a year later when I finally got around to coming to her Dad’s house - her room having been left untouched because it hurt too much - to help finally collect things or give em to charity.

It was there that I rediscovered the first few spn series boxes that we’d rescued from that dusty corner so long ago, and I don’t know why, but in her room, tears pooling in my eyes staring down at the cover, I decided to watch them all again. And for the first time since that last watch at her bed-side, it felt like she was there with me once again, alive, laughing and crying and raging with me like always. I caught up to the current episodes, and a short-while later entered fandom, which leads to me writing this post. If you wanted a metaphorical Ouroboros no one asked for in this post, there you go.  

I’m an atheist, but if there is a heaven like in the show, or something else, some sort of ‘beyond’, I liked to think she was re-living all the best memories I’m thinking of right now. Including the day we found our favourite show, with the Winchester brothers and the best gay-angel in all of TV. And that if she were reborn into the meta-alternative world of supernatural, that she’d be kicking ass right alongside them.

I think she’d be just as fond as me of the Winchester’s nougat son.

Now don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a pity story. My sis has been gone a while now, and although it will always hurt, I’ll never forget the promise I made. That every single moment of this show since 2005 has been a blessing, and that I am so grateful that me and her got to be a part of it together, and share it as something so special that changed both our lives for the better. 

That even though she’s gone, next year when the final season 15 airs, I’ll keep my promise. Until the last fare thee well of the last episode.

Because family DOESN'T end in blood, and neither does the spn family end in it either. She taught me that. The three Winchester’s taught me that. 

All of you taught me that. 

We’ll all still be the spn family, the cast, the crew, the artists, the writers, the shit-posters, the people who do binge re-runs every other week, the hardcore shippers, all people that love one another with bonds made over years of laughter, blood, sweat and tears. In some form we’ll still be here, and so will these characters - in our hearts - just like she was for me.

I’ll make every second in this final season something to treasure, laughing and crying and raging and smiling until the last moment. 

I’ll do it for me. I’ll do it for the supernatural family. I’ll do it for this show I hold so dearly.

And I’ll do it for her.
