WAIT so yall know this panel of eridan right.
Tumblr media
ive seen a lot of ppl comparebit to grimdark, but aside from it being debunked by the Beast, theres also notable differences
Tumblr media Tumblr media
grimdark style is characterized by a whispy black outline, while in the above panel, eridan's magic outline is noticably white
Tumblr media
so. what else have we seen drawn in a black silhouette with a glowing white outline?
Tumblr media
THE FUCKING ANGELS!!!!
BUT THERES MORE
the angels dont always look like that, in fact they only ever appear that way on lowaa
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE HOPE FIELD AROUND LOWAA OBSCURES THE ANGELS
BECAUSE. ERIDAN PERCIEVES THEM AS A THREAT. BECAUSE HIS BELIEF IN HIS WAYS PREVENTED HIM FROM SEEING THE SITUATION CLEARLY
AND. IN THE END. THAT STRICT BELIEF DELUDES HIM TO THE POINT OF KILLING HIS FRIENDS WITH HOPE MAGIC. BECAUSE TO HIM THEY WERE ALL ALREADY DEAD. BECAUSE. THEIR SITUATION WAS HOPELESS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND THE. AND THE!!!!!
oh my god i am so abnormal abt this comic

Here's my analysis of n25's classpects, I also made art of them, and changed the godtier designs a bit to fit them better, made it a bit more personalized.
Kanade - Sylph of Time
Tumblr media
Sylph is a class that heals with their aspect, or creates the aspect in others.
One of the symbols of the aspect of time is music.
So you probably know where I'm going with this, Kanade wishes to save as much people with her music as possible, no matter the cost, even if it takes a toll on her physical and mental health. She spends as much time as possible on composing, to get more time she consumes energy drinks and eats instant noodles.
Sylphs have natural understanding of their aspect - Kanade is a composing prodigy, at the age of 10 she was making better music than her father, and in area conversations it's revealed that she's a living timer, she knows exactly when the light will turn green because she counts the seconds and never misses.
When she promised Mafuyu to keep composing for her, it made Mafuyu keep trying to look for her true self. So in classpect terms, she literally created more time for her. Her music also brings comfort to thousands of n25 listeners, keeps them going. Kanade is a patient person too, she has no problem in giving Ena more time to work on her art if it means it'll be better, in this case she's the most understanding in n25.
Mafuyu - Maid of Void
Tumblr media
Maid is a class that is burdened by their aspect, and is also 'made' of it. It's often interpreted as a class that creates their aspect for themselves.
The aspect of Void symbolises emptiness, nothingness, the unknown, shadows, secrets, lack of meaning, but also infinite potential and hidden talents. It's an aspect of people lost in the dark.
So the Maid of Void creates nothingness, is made of nothingness, and is burdened by nothingness, which sounds weird but actually fits Mafuyu very much. She literally created empty SEKAI from her true feelings - how cold and empty she feels. She also keeps n25 and her true feelings a secret from her mother. And regarding the burden of nothingness - she is tired of not knowing who she is, she is tired of coldness and emptiness she feels in her chest.
But I don't think Mafuyu hates what void represents, she likes the calm and quiet of empty SEKAI, she cares about her empty aquarium, she does find some comfort in nothingness, it's just the fact that there's too much of it.
But it's not all sad and gloom, Void is hidden potential and talents, which Mafuyu has tons of, to the point it makes Ena jealous.
Ena - Prince of Space
Tumblr media
Prince is someone who works hard and relies on outside validation. Basically Ena.
Space is associated with arts and crafts, it's about creating material stuff you can touch.
I don't have a coherent analysis here, just trust me bro. I really can't explain my thought process here as well as I want, so I'm just leaving you the short classpect description, check out the sources if you wanna know more about the classpect.
Mizuki - Knight of Heart
Tumblr media
Knights are people who put up a front to hide their weaknessses and insecurities. They're also the guardian of their aspect.
Heart is an aspect of identity, Heart players live rich inner lives and are invested in self-discovery, they tend to be dramatic and often struggle with being misunderstood.
Mizuki does everything they can to hide their problems under their bubbly personality, they don't want to be too bothersome to others. When Ena is worried about them, Mizuki feels like they're a bad person. They've been hurt in the past, and struggle with anyone getting too close, essentially, guarding their Heart.
It may be hard to notice at first, but Mizuki is one of the most emotionally intelligent characters in the cast. They did self-discovery, they do self-retrospection, and in turn they understand other people better. They're quick to pick up when something is wrong, or when someone feels down - they see the little things. Mizuki was the first character to notice mafumom's weird behavior too.
Sources:
@classpect-navelgazing - My main source, I recommend checking them out because their theory is different than the classic view of the classpect and is pretty interesting. Very well made too! I think their aspects descriptions are better than the canon ones lmao.
@dahniwitchoflight - I used some of the elements of their theory too - most notably the bits about Maid and Sylph class. Good to check them out if you're interested!
The extended zodiac quiz - It has a lot of problems and I don't consider most of it canon, but the moons description and time's description are fine imo.
These sources are condtradictadory, yes, and while reading them you might notice that I didn't stick to some of the descriptions that much, but doing this little analysis I kept in mind that in the end the classpects are more about the vibe than anything else (but also not really, you see, it's complicated)

do you still do session analysis?
I've never really done that, so no.
I appreciate the value placed in my opinion, truly, but I guarantee you it will be way more fun and satisfying to write things like that on your own than it is to get some stranger to do it for you. I don't feel good depriving someone the joy and learning experience of figuring out Character + Classpect Dynamics on your own. It's hard, for sure, but it's completely worth it. I'll give my thoughts on Individual Classes, Aspects, and Classpects now and then, if the mood strikes me, but the way that will affect a Group Dynamic is far more dependent on the individual characters involved and the narrative they're in than a lot of people seem to give credit for. Yes, the Classpect of a character says a lot about them, but it doesn't really express their Moral Alignment, the full breadth of their Personality, any specific Traumas or Neuroses that may afflict them and affect their relationship with their life, surroundings, and the people around them, et cetera, et cetera...
Basically, a Classpect says a lot, and a Group of Classpects can also say a lot, but I find it personally difficult to make very solid statements on the Viability of a Session or the Dynamics within it without having a deep understanding of not only the characters involved but also what kind of story is being aimed for. What a Classpect can mean or entail depends a lot on the Hero in question, and the specific Meta of the Session. You can keep the Meaning of all Classes and Aspects nigh completely Canon Compliant, but still have them imply and result in totally different things within a Session, purely because the Story and Character demands something that isn't, like... Just a straight up repeat of things already tread upon in source material. You could have a Seer of Light that's evil. You could have Bard of Rage that's a pretty good guy, all things considered.
For example, Sovereignstuck has a very particular Meta with its Classpects, and it's going for a very particular narrative. The characters in it are also very much so their own beasts - though their Classpects may say a lot about them, it doesn't really tell you anything about their morality, or how willing they are to hurt people or even just ascend to godhood in the first place, which is a really big deal in what is essentially a literal Deus Ex Machina Death Game Horror/Drama RPG setting especially. To use a particular example from Sovereignstuck - Bards of Mind tend to be billed as chaotic forces and, due to being a Bard, inherently bad people, with some even suggesting the best way to write a Bard of Mind is to write a straight up Bigot. We've got a Bard of Mind in the Player Session, Emeric Sargas, and while she is a complicated person - as is the truth for everyone ever - she is, generally speaking, a very child-like ball of sunshine that basically no one has beef with because she's just very sweet. Odd, yes, definitely, she does have a litany of very strange beliefs about how the world works, but overall a nice person. We have two Maids of Space, even, and they're extremely, extremely different people.
It's not as simple as saying "Princes of Void and Witches of Heart are guaranteed to not get along!", or "This Session will fail because it has an insufficient Player count!". Hell, it's difficult for me to even say a Session is doomed to fail if they have no Time and/or Space Players. Maybe the Meta of your Session simply doesn't abide by typical SBURB rules. I know my Fanventure sure doesn't, it's running on a fucking spinoff game with no Universe Building aspects to it - it's just a God-Making Machine. Maybe you don't need a Time or Space Player. Maybe you don't need a Knight, or an Heir. Maybe you can have five Pages. I literally don't know. Write whatever you want. Get creative. You truly do not have to abide by the rules set by SBURB if you don't want to write a Creation Myth. My only recommendation is that if you're breaking the mold, make that clear - explain what the purpose of your game is. Hell, explain the purpose even if it's just SBURB 2. The Characters are gonna have to learn what it is, even if the reader is aware of it already.
I could talk more, but this is already a long enough response to a pretty simple one sentence yes or no question.
TL;DR: No, I don't, sorry.

personally i feel like qquackity is a thief of mind :p very self centered character who seems to be very aware of their own flaws but doesn't do much to really try and fix those flaws at the core(?) if that makes sense. i didnt watch dsmp so im unsure if any of this is leftover from his old character
His classpect in on dsmp was Prince of Mind so being Thief of Mind on the qsmp is not far off! I see you!
*reading* the Mind aspect unlike its counterpart the Heart aspect that concerns itself internally, Mind does so externally - this could be how they are perceived by others. It is the 'rational' thought put into a decision and the different roles they put on to respond to certain situations. I found an interesting take that a commonality Mind players share is that their actions are driven by a principle (eg: terezi and justice, right and wrong) and in this case q!Quackity's driving principle is the very concept of roles itself. The strive at first to be a father and to have a complete family, the role of a teacher, the role in the Federation, the role of being the groom at a wedding. Even if it means subjecting others to this principle - these are the different masks Quackity puts on and how he wishes everyone to perceive him.
Then there's the Thief Class which means to steal mind/ steal WITH mind, which for reasons above makes sense as he tried taking full custody of some of the egg kids and much more - even if he isn't good at it it's the thought that counts lmao. Thief is an active class (+self serving) which makes even more sense for Quackity as most of the things that he does he does to benefit himself (his image).
[ more undercut ]
Additional extra stuff I particularly like THIS analysis on Thief of Mind and a lot of what op says connects to q!Quackity's story so I recommend reading it if you're interested. Some quotes in particular I want to point out:
>"Thieves are the active half of the allocation classes, with its counterpart being the Rogue. They move their aspect from one location to another, often hoarding it for themselves. Thieves tend to be dramatic and self-righteous, so it is often difficult for them to keep friends, in spite of their charisma."
>"Prior to God-tiering, a Thief of Mind would be an extremely bewildering person to be around. Robbing others of logical reasoning and stealing their secrets out from under them, all while subtly pushing others to act in a way that benefits their ultimate plan - and maybe even making them think it was their idea to begin with!" (COUGH to the Quackity and Gegg arc)
>"However, due to the denizen’s meddling, the overly-suspicious consorts constantly overthink things, and disbelieve anyone who tries to give them directions. As such, they are always getting themselves lost. The Thief must learn to steal away their poor decision-making so they can get to their destinations - and eventually steal the knowledge of the denizen’s location." (This can be interpreted as Quackity's relationship with others and the island)

That post joking about doomed polycules left me no choice but to assign classpects to the Vampire Chronicles cast (though not restricted to the actual "polycule", as it were, lol)
Long rambling analysis under the cut :)c
Lestat: Prince of Time I wanted him to be "Prince of Blood" so bad, but in the end I can't justify giving him anything other than Time as an aspect. He has strong elements of Rage, and maybe Breath and Heart as well, but the official description of the Time aspect from the Extended Zodiac site fits him to a fucking T. To quote just one line: "Their lives are often marked by struggle, not so much because fate has it in for them, but because they are fundamentally incapable of just accepting things as they come." He's got the impulsivity, the ruthlessness, and the stubborn belief that, again from the official description: "impossible is just a word". Aside from the obvious reason, I made him a Prince because Time/immortality is a destructive force on both himself and those he inflicts it upon, or alternatively you could read it as him "destroying" mortality/the passage of time via the Dark Gift. No matter what, he gets a bright red cape out of the deal. Lestat is also canonically a Scorpio, a.k.a. a Blue Sign, which... just read this description: "Of all the sign classes, they have the potential to do the most good, but also cause the worst harm. They can be incredibly effective, and also incredibly destructive. Tell a Blue Sign this and chances are they would agree with you." Since his Lunar Sway is for sure Prospit, that makes his Extended Zodiac sign that of Scorist, the Mutineer (sounds about right):
Tumblr media
Louis: Heir of Blood Psyche, Lestat also can't be the Blood player because Louis is the Blood player!! Louis also has traits that fit with Life and Light, but I like the vibe of Blood the most for him. The Blood aspect is all about bonds with other people, and Louis certainly defines himself by his relationships to others--to Lestat, to Claudia, to his brother, to his victims, to humanity as a whole. On the EZ site, Blood is also described as generally a more passive aspect, with its bearers functioning mostly as inspiration to others--"they are prophets, rather than generals, giving others the strength and motivation to keep fighting." This is pretty much 100% in line with how the other vampires view him in what I've read of the books. "He's the most human of all of us," etc. etc. He's an Heir because, again aside from the obvious reason, that class is one that invites change through one's aspect as well as being shaped by one's aspect. The character arcs we have in Homestuck that show what an Heir's development looks like show the hero slowly learning to take control of their aspect instead of letting it control them--"inheriting the throne" so to speak. I imagine Louis' growth over the course of the books involves coming to accept both the literal blood/Dark Gift as well as the metaphorical Blood of found family and fellowship with the other vampires (and especially with Lestat), on top of continuing to exist as that passive reminder to the others of all the most admirable aspects of mortals. Louis' canon birthdate, as far as I can tell, makes him a Libra, which, um... "Deep down, they often long for a hero, someone they can idolize and count on, with the smarts and charisma to keep up with them. Unfortunately, they have a tendency to get involved with people who are very obviously wrong for them out of a desire not to be alone. Many Teal Signs are better off being single, at least until someone really extraordinary comes along." 😬 Anyway, since he's definitely a Derse dreamer, everything combined thus makes his EZ sign Licen, the Worshiper (🙃):
Tumblr media
Claudia: Maid of Rage Another title that works equally as well for the literal reasons as it does for the symbolic ones lmao. I considered a few aspects for Claudia (she inherits some Heart from Lestat and some Light from Louis), but ultimately you can't deny she's Rage. "They posses great contempt for lies or false ideas, including the stability that false ideas can impart. To them, the true is far more important than the good." Rage players are further described as fearless, single-minded, and sowers of doubt and discord. "If they sound dangerous, they are." She's a Maid because she's been molded out of her aspect, her righteous fury the culmination of a slow-burning resentment over the course of decades. She also stokes the fires of doubt and rebellion in others (namely Louis). She could be assigned Sylph for the same reasons, but I choose Maid because it's the "active" one of the pair, and I see Claudia as one who is determined to draw first blood. She schemes and plots, yes, but with the intention of going in personally for the kill. I don't know if Claudia has a canon birthday so I picked from the list based on her personality and assigned her Purple/Capricorn. Ambitious, driven, with a dark sense of humor, and a willingness to "say out loud what everyone else was thinking but was too nervous to mention". Holds a grudge but can also be deeply loyal. Sounds about right to me. And I initially had Claudia marked down for Prospit but quickly realized that facades, distrust, and insecurity are some of her defining features and wondered how I could ever have thought she was anything BUT Derse lmao. Therefore, her EZ sign is Capriborn, the Malignant (I love that it looks like a broken/bleeding heart):
Tumblr media
Armand: Sylph of Doom My initial thought for Armand was something on the Light/Void spectrum, and I also considered Mind, but in the end I truly think Doom fits him best. "The Doom-bound understand that misery loves company, and they are ready and willing to provide said company. The Doom-bound won't fix you; they aren't healers. They are commiserators, aware that sometimes the only thing you can do for a person is let them know that they are not alone in their suffering." This might be a slightly sugarcoated way to look at it, but it seems a pretty accurate description of Armand's favored method of getting close to people. Symbolically, Doom is also largely about sacrifice and accepting one's fate, which tie in strongly with Armand's outlook (particularly pre-Daniel, but also just in general as far as I know). I argue he's a Sylph because, even when he's in a leadership position, he always strives to slink back into the shadows and influence things in a passive way. He's not a warrior, he's a puppetmaster. Sylphs are associated with creation, and he could be said to invite the "creation" of Doom (sacrifice etc) in several of his roles throughout the books--as head of the Paris coven, certainly, but also in his little world tour with Daniel. He also passively oversees the more literal doom of all the vampires under his wing and the victims thereof, without ever stooping to create a fledgling of his own for hundreds of years. (Plus, as a bonus, the word "sylph" makes him sound ethereal and cherubic, so. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) Again I don't have a canon birthday for him so I'm assigning him Rust/Aries. Largely this is because I view the bit with him and Daniel in QotD as showing the truest version of his personality I've read so far, and, well: "They crave new experiences, the wilder and farther-from-home, the better." Plus: "Rust Signs make great friends and traveling companions, but they also can be selfish and quick to anger. If what they deem to be an acceptable level of 'excitement' isn't happening around them, they have a tendency to try to stir some up. They love the drama." Did you say a messy bitch that requires constant enrichment? That's our Armand! Armand was another one that I clocked wrong for Lunar Sway at first. My instinct was that he's Derse, but after thinking about it for a second I realized he's actually fully Prospit. This makes Armand's EZ sign Armino, the Static (no I am not making this up):
Tumblr media
Daniel: Knight of Light I don't feel like I have as deep an understanding of Daniel's motivations as a character but I think, narratively at least, Light is the most fitting aspect for him. Light deals with both information, which he seeks both as a reporter and later as his personal obsession to find the vampires, and luck, which, well, if anyone in this series could be said to have both the best and worst of luck, he'd be a strong contender lol. Daniel's a Knight of his aspect because he actively uses it to further his goals. After Louis leaves him in San Francisco, he weaponizes what scraps of information he has to track the vampires he knows about, which of course eventually leads him to Armand. He then stubbornly keeps pushing his luck with this fickle opponent/paramour until the near-Apocalypse coincidentally happens, forcing Armand to give Daniel what he wanted all along. I'm assigning Daniel a Violet/Aquarius birthday: "Personable and outlandish, they are ready to make friends with anyone, although if they aren't careful their 'game for anything' attitude can come across as clingy or desperate. When their feelings are reciprocated, however, they are very loyal friends." And he's a Prospitian, which makes his EZ sign that of Aquapio, the Maverick (which looks goofy as hell; sorry, Daniel):
Tumblr media
Gabrielle: Page of Space If anyone in the cast is Space, it's Gabrielle: "For the Space-bound, the journey is as, if not more, important than the destination; how they do something is as important as what they do. At their best, they are steady, impartial, and creative. At their worst, they can be detached, apathetic, and vague." Detached, you say? Apathetic, you say? And she's a Page because the class is notoriously slow to get started but invariably powerful by the time they've reached their full potential. Gabrielle spent a whole mortal lifetime feeling confined, a prisoner to her family and to her gender and to society. When she's finally unleashed in her full glory, however, she chooses to grasp that freedom with both hands and expand her horizons to encompass the entire world. She wants to move, to run, to travel, to cover as much ground as possible and take in as much as she can. (Incidentally, this makes Breath another decent option for her, but the detachment of Space makes it especially fitting for her, I think.) None of the descriptions for the sign classes fit Gabrielle perfectly, and while she shares a lot of traits with Scorpio (same as Lestat's), I think it's more fun to put her down as Indigo/Sagittarius if only for this bit: "They are known to be careless, both physically and emotionally, their conversations punctuated by jostling elbows and tactless comments. They don't usually mean to offend, and are often shocked to find out they upset anyone." She's also hard for me to pin down as either Prospit or Derse, but I'll settle for Derse because of her usual inability to show sincere emotion. That makes her EZ sign Sagiga, the Builder (eh, not as fitting as any of the other titles :P):
Tumblr media
Marius: Thief of Void Marius is practically defined by all the secrets he keeps and the lengths he goes to keep himself, his feelings, and the knowledge he protects all hidden. Assigning him Void is a no-brainer, I think. The most fitting class for him, then, is probably Rogue, since it's all about "allocating" the aspect (in this case, secrets)...... buuuut Marius doesn't deserve the same classpect as my bestie Roxy so I'm making him a Thief instead lmfaooo I also hate to admit that the description for Bronze/Taurus signs fits him fairly well. (I hate it because that's my sign lmao rip.) The description mentions coming across as arrogant, a penchant for mild hedonism, and a craving for safety and stability, among other things. And this dude's a Prospitian without a doubt, meaning his EZ sign is Taurittanius, the Utopian (which, despite my dislike of him in many respects, is a fitting title for him):
Tumblr media
And lastly, I guess, should be David Talbot, but I really just don't care about him as a character and don't know enough about him to even try to speculate on a classpect for him lmao;;
Am I forgetting anyone major? I feel like I'm forgetting someone. Oh well. That's our vampire Sburb session, everyone. God help us all.

The more i read your analisis the more i learn about the classpects :D A knight would cause the session to be lacking in that knight's aspect, a page player would mean that they need lots of growth, can you do a analysis on how each class could affects the session?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A quick overview on how all the classes are supposed to work in a typical session? Sure, can't hurt to refresh ourselves once in a while! The Knight uses their aspect as a weapon to defend themselves and others, becoming a heavy hitter in their field, but as you mentioned, they are chosen to carry their classpect because, for whatever reason, the session is expected to be lacking, somehow, in their aspect. The Maid maintains and "serves" their aspect, making sure there is always enough of it, and its presence is strong. They also often use their aspect as a weapon, like the Knight does, though not always as effectively. The Mage obtains, over time, a comprehensive knowledge of their aspect and acts upon that knowledge. This insight, however, can prove a burden, and Mages tend to be manipulated by what they learn. The Seer, like the Mage, obtains great knowledge of their aspect, but becomes more of a font of information, allowing others to benefit from their insight rather than running off to act upon it themself.
Tumblr media
The Thief steals things using their aspect - or, often, steals the aspect itself! Either way, they will make great use of whatever they take, on a personal level. Their more team-oriented counterpart, the Rogue, also steals from or through their aspect, but then distributes the benefits and to others, in the most effective way they can find. The Sylph heals others through their aspect, or sometimes heals the aspect itself in some way. They are the ultimate support and recovery players, but don't count them out of a fight, when they decide that 'healing' a situation means laying down the law! The Page's domain is to distribute their aspect to others in great measure. They hold some of the greatest potential within their aspect, but they are slow starters, and very often begin their session strongly lacking in their aspect, requiring much personal growth to achieve their goals.
Tumblr media
We then have the Witch, who manipulates their aspect, often even going so far as to bend or break its perceived rules. They're a tricky class that often can seem to reach beyond what they are given. The Heir gathers their aspect around them and at times can even seem to embody the aspect themself, obtaining a level of fine control that even the Witch has difficulty matching! The Prince is a destroyer - either they destroy things using their aspect, or they destroy the aspect itself. It seems to be a trend that they achieve their highest potential only after their aspect is destroyed in themself, in some way. The Bard is also a destroyer, but in a more passive fashion. They allow the aspect to destroy things, or else act in a way that lets the aspect itself fall apart. Their indirect approach to things can make them both the most and least influential player in any session.
Tumblr media
Finally, we have the two so-called 'master classes'. The Lord commands their aspect in ways neither the Heir nor the Witch can hope to quite achieve, and will use that power to command and control others. On the opposite side of the spectrum, the Muse advises, supports, and inspires through the careful application of their aspect, often achieving great things from the sidelines, without it every becoming clear if they really got involved at all...
Tumblr media
I hope this class retrospective helped clear some things up for you! And remember, this is just my observations and notes on how I identify the classes to work; new information is being found all the time, and one never knows how things might shake out in a session!

Hi hi hiii! I've been reading ur blog for a while and u seem to know a lot about classpecting! So I was wondering if you'd help me with mine? Thank uuu!!
Okay let's start with this
1) I'm shy with people. Like very shy! But when they get to know me I turn into a complete person! Before getting to know me people seem to think that I hate everyone or that I like to be alone (which is true! But I like to be alone, not lonely)
But that has given me a big problem. Since I don't talk a lot people seem to forget me a lot! I've even had teachers that have thought I didn't went to class even though I've been there. That usually doesn't bother me but, it hurts when my friends don't even count me in their activities. I've had friends that doesn't even remember me until I talk to them!
That has made me kind of insecure to the point where I think that they don't actually like me and, if they're really important to me, I tend to get their attention via drawings (they say they like how I draw) or looking for things in common to talk about. I also overshare a lot and that has brought me many problems. I need to work on that!
2) due to the fact that I tend to be always left alone, I have obtained kind of the power of noticing when things are wrong. Either by my friend's body language or by things that I notice without them outright telling me. I tend to know when they're having troubles (with our friend group or in general) or when something it's wrong. I wouldn't say that it's an instinct but rather that is like a puzzle. The pieces come to me in form of info that my own friends give me and then I pierce them all together. Then, when they finally tell me what's wrong (im always the last one they tell what's happening), they only confirm what I already knew
3) people say that I'm very smart and I like to tell everyone the things I know and help them. I don't see myself as a smart person I just like to learn a lot about my favourite things and when they ask me then I don't shut up! (That's another problem I guess!)
4) I hate secrets and I like to be honest, but if u tell me something I won't tell anyone. I don't like to betray people's trust.
5) Im a night owl! And I sleep a lot in the day and my friends joke with that. They say I'm like jade sleeping all the time
6) I don't know if this is important but?? I like to draw and my favourite sports are archery and swimming. I love to swim! I wish to learn to surf one day. Maybe also go diving.
7) I'm afraid of the dark and I don't like scary things. I also dislike to argue or fight. People say I'm too soft but, I just see it as a waste of time.
8) My biggest and impossible dream is to fly or have the ability to become invisible. I tend to daydream a lot!
9) When something bad happens I get very mad but then sigh and say that it doesn't matter. I kind of don't care about many things haha.
10) I like gossip, it's a guilty pleasure of mine. But I tend to investigate by myself since I don't believe a lot what other people say.
I'm overall, a nice person who likes to talk a lot but that's because I don't have many people to talk to. I don't like to have many friends but I like to keep close the ones I have. And since I talk too much with them I tend to think they get bored of me.
I hope that's enough for u
Thank u p much for helping me! I might send a session analysis once I figure out my classpect. I'm the only one that doesn't have one ):
Sorry for the bad english!
There's a couple of possibilities. You could be a Rogue or Seer of Void, or a Rogue of Light. Both Void and Light have a very obvious presence in your life/are important to you. Therefore, one of the main things to determine will be whether it’s that you’re lacking Light or surrounded by Void (so basically the same thing, but which one is more accurate).
A Rogue can be surrounded by the negative traits of their aspect, which does seem to be occurring for you. You also seem to be able to steal Void via things like finding common interests and drawings, as well as stealing Void away to see when things are wrong. However, this could alternatively be knowing Void by seeing what is hidden. Seers also often struggle with the limits of their aspect - perhaps you feel like Void is limiting you.
Or you could be a Rogue of Light - if Rogue’s aren’t surrounded by the negative traits of their aspect, they tend to be lacking it. You also might be stealing Light and relocating it elsewhere when you learn information which you share with others.
Determining between the three could be tricky. One might feel naturally feel like it suits you, but if not, it might help to figure out what it is you're stealing/knowing - does it feel like the focus is on knowing/removing Void or relocating Light? So do you care more about that you’re finding what is unknown or that you’re getting to discover and share knowledge?
Also, when it comes to the Void surrounding you, what feels more accurate - that it limits you (Seer of Void), that it’s meant to be there but is negative (Rogue of Void), or that it’s not meant to be there and is taking up where Light belongs (Rogue of Light)?
I hope this helps!! If you get stuck between two, I can always compare them in more detail for you. ^^

talking abt questioning classpect (namely class) stuff a whole lot ヽ (^•ω•^)ノ w/o quirk cause im testing that today
so i know 101% for sure that im a heart player i have no doubts about it i fit nearly every description and trait given for them and ive been sure about this for fucking ever lol, aside from the 'teehee heart player romants and shipy :)' cause my me aro and romance repulsed xoxo <3 but thats obvious second off i try not to bring Obviously Not Classpect-y things into classpecty shit like people saying heart players loooove shipping specifically on basis of the leijons when dirk is Not, or that mages are inherently sad sacks of shit that hate everything bc of sollux when meulin is just a normal fucking person. or like, sylphs of heart only identifying as so when they just have trauma/a personality, or knights being "knights" when they are also just traumatized or depressed or whatever. Some classpecters will count trauma and Issues You Have as a part of your classpect journey and shit bc its an interesting way to conceptualize and in some cases grasp your... everything, but 1 it just makes me really fucking sad to go 'haha i do [blatant symptom of abuse] bc im [classpect] :)' and its easier for Me to keep that seperate, and also bc it is just not helpful for me and how i use classpects to go oh yeah literally everything you are and have and do etc is your classpect
but, i relate to mages in that i Know shit and a lot of my motivations both in general and behind specific things is to Know More Shit, and i?? guess???? i have suffered bc of/at the hands of/whatever my aspect????????? but i have no fucking clue what ppl mean when they talk about this, probably because it varies aspect-by-aspect XD but i don't relate to it in that i am not a sad sack of shit (heavily sollux-influenced analysis of mage as a class but a really, REALLY common one, so) and i love my aspect to bits and pieces and shreds and i WANT it to be a huge part of my life, i don't know wtf ppl mean when they say like, acting For your aspect or being its puppet sorta?????? i figure is another aspect-by-aspect thing but its real hard to grasp XD and i Do impact others and things not... like, a lot of witch things go oh you just completely turn this shit upside down and completely break its rules, and what i do is more subtle, ex i prefer to backseat a Little (not completely just a little) when it comes to 'leadership' in groups (but i am unspokenly made the leader a lot fsr?), but no matter where i am or what i do i have some level of influence and impact in the group anyway
but i relate to witches in :3 a lot of their thematic stuff teehee (i know its mostly just sburb and wholly fictional stuff that doesnt matter for irl people but coincidences are fun :3) and in that i do technically break rules wrt my aspect (ex i am invested in attraction and relationships and affection and all that, but only non-romantically, which kinda goes against the heart/love/etc = romance), and control/manipulation/changing/insert other witch-y verb here is kinda my Point for Knowing Shit as previously discussed, a lot of mage things imply mages learn shit and then leave it at that and just stew in it. i dont!!!! im learning shit so i can understand ppl better so i can mess with stuff better. i dont know how to explain that last bit but trust me dude. i also relate to it in that <3 i do everything for me and what I think is good i am not doing shit specifically to help others either induvidually or at large and if it does thats bc it happens to line up with what i thought was the best idea, ex. some jerk is in a group im in and i do things to slowly kick them out and it turns out everybody else wanted them gone too i DONT relate to it in that, [points at above thing about oh witches just completely turn their aspect upside down], and also 'they change aspect' is really, really, really fucking vague
ultimately i think one of my keywords wrt class would be Influence? or at least keyword for external stuff. whether i'm outright calculatedly going okay [knows thing] so if i do this thing it'll nudge this person in the direction i want them to go (which feels witchy), or if i'm just. -starts using neopronouns- -every time i enter a new group at least one person starts using neopronouns when they hadnt questioned/done so before-. -becomes openly aspec- -suddenly all my friends are questioning aspecs-. -ive been thinking about/knowing a specific topic pertaining heart-y shit- -people around me start parroting bits and pieces of it or they start questioning (if it had to do with gender/sexuality) and just start Thinking About It A Lot, Too- -the whole 'people inadvertantly assigning me leader or leader-ish in any group regardless of what i do' thing- etc theres. a lot of examples of this. (and this feels magey) internal shit is a diff story depending on what you do and dont include with classpect shit (life journey stuff? 'they start out this but later grow to be more this' etc, relationships with others, etc) but it's bc of the..... POWER FEELS LIKE A REALLY LAME AND EXAGGERATIVE WORD TO USE BUT IDK WHAT ELSE SO, power over and/or regarding my aspect here that makes me think i am probably absolutely definetely an active class

Hiya, might I get a maid of time analysis? Please and thank you! ^v^
As always, I can only give a little sneak peek! ;3c But I always make sure to cover the most important and/or big parts of it!
~~~~~~~
Now, the Maid of Time is a fascinating Classpect; and is one that many are aware of! It is a person who embodies so many things all at the same time, that their presence is one not short of being highly magnetic and electrifying. They are made of Time and all of its forms; literal, metaphorical, and emotional. For the literal Time, they are someone who most likely is highly attuned to the ever forward march and flow of time. Not a moment passes them by where they are not aware of their present moment, but also of their past decisions and the ones to come in the future. They are the most aware of Time when it comes to their friend group, and as such will often make sure that events to come will be seen through. Making sure appointments, dates, destinations, and other important events are met; they help to usher everyone to their places on the universe’s stage before the curtain has a chance to be pulled back. They are not the playwright, but more so the director who holds the script.
They are also someone who is drawn towards the macabre; of death, decay, and all that comes after it. When they see a skeleton on the road, they do not see tragedy, but instead a creature’s cycle come to a close. They find solace in two words; The End. Because although everything around them is always changing, for better or for worse, there is that certainty that it will eventually come to a stop. And with it, a new cycle shall begin. Maids of Time are surprisingly philosophical people, sometimes giving a few Mind-bound a run for their money when it comes to their logic and philosophies. They see the beauty that comes in death, because they know that every end creates room for a new story to start. One could argue that the Maid of Time is one made of death and/or decay; perhaps they themself have experienced a tragic loss of some kind, but did not go through a normal journey of recovery and grieving. Perhaps in that tragedy, they saw a grace that so few people are capable of comprehending. Not that the Maid of Time cares what other people think, of course.
Of course, the Maid of Time is also one who is made of a fiery, fighting spirit. They are one of the first people to spring into action when injustice is brought to their attention, and they are the most likely to see to it that such a thing is fixed. After all, they are trying to make sure that everyone is at their peak performance; if one person is slacking, or making it difficult for others to perform, then they would surely be one crummy director to simply ignore these problems.
However, don’t let this fool you; this attitude is one that the Maid of Time carries, but they also are still one who is greatly at war with their Aspect. They are aware of the passage of time and as such make sure everyone is where they need to be, yes, but they are one who constantly lives in stress because of it. They love the macabre and fawn over death, but only because they are not a stranger to it. The Maid of Time is one covered excessively in scars from wounds long since past, but will surely have many more to come. They seek out ways to fix injustice, yes, but rarely do they ever pay attention to or care to the injustices dealt to them. They are still fighting against their Aspect, and they still hold a sense of wariness towards it.
During the Maid’s journey, they may try to neglect their duty as a director, or leave it up to someone else to fix and create. The reason why this plan cannot be sustained is because no one can do it like the Maid of Time can. Their Classpect is unique, and so nothing could ever completely replace them and their place in the story. Therefore, something drastic needs to happen in the Maid’s life that would bring them closer to their Aspect. Perhaps a loved one is in danger or experiencing an injustice so harsh that only the Maid can fix it, or they themself are in dire need of their Aspect and its functionality to remain intact.
No matter what, as much as some Maids of Time may desire to see their Aspect be torn apart, and the sands be free of their glass prison, they would have to learn that there is a time and a place for allowing such things to happen. By the time they would come to this epiphany, though, Time would already be left in quite the state of disarray. Timelines would be a mess, the order of events would be wrong and all over the place, and the morale of all their friends would be quite low. Because of this, the Maid would have to work towards learning how to create their Aspect.
Creation of Time is a power very many wish to achieve, yet very few are actually granted it or are even able to handle it. This is actually for good reason, as Time is a surprisingly delicate Aspect. Too much of it, and it all is put at risk of collapsing in on itself. Too little, and everything will slow down to a standstill, as well as feeling extremely one-track. The Maid of Time is meant to help keep Time in check, making sure that there is not too much but also not too little.
They are someone who can create timelines on a whim, as much as they so desire. They can also create Time in small pockets of existence - making the flow of time slow down to a complete halt in one place, while speeding things up in another. In order to do this, the Maid of Time would have to be quite the chaotically organized individual, with levels of knowledge and awareness that may rival even the greatest Mind-bounds, Light-bounds, and Void-bounds.
As for more realistic powers of creating Time, the Maid is one who would seemingly always have the chance to sit down and talk with someone or even multiple people! They always have time to spare in their schedule, or at the very least are good at making a bubble of respite amidst the rush of life. A Maid is very capable and excellent at starting something, stopping it, and then starting it back up again. They are near masters of rhythm and beats, one might even say; always remaining on the key they need to reach and the page they need to be on.
There are many other ways for a Maid of Time to create Time, but that will be saved for the much more official analysis!
Now, creating through Time is when one is when the role of Stagehand and Director truly come into play for the Maid. By creating through Time, they are setting up the dominoes needed in order to create a massive, narrative chain reaction so that order is maintained throughout the flow of time. If someone needs to check the mail at a certain time, the Maid will do all they can to ensure that the mailman gets there on time.
More realistically, a Maid of Time who creates through Time is one who creates through perseverance. Which is to say, once a Maid of Time begins a project, they are most certainly going to see it through to the end; even if it’s all on their own. Every moment counts when it comes to a Maid of Time’s creation process, and while they certainly are capable of messing around with their schedule, it’s something they find quite disruptive to their very own wants, needs, and flow. When that inspiration starts to die out, the Maid may feel very guilty for not being creative; but what’s important for them in this moment is to allow their Aspect, and themself, to recuperate. Even though they are made of their Aspect, it is and always will be a finite source - no flame can burn forever.
The Maid of Time is a fiery, passionate, and justice-bringing friend and ally to have. They are full of life, and also a love for death and all things macabre. They can see the beauty in a bakery full of sweets as much as they do the moss and flowers blooming through the skull of an animal. Mystery, yet often alluring, people find the Maid of Time fascinating and off-putting; the two often going hand-in-hand to draw people closer to the Maid. Yet no matter how many people surround them, the Maid ultimately cares more about their own personal projects than anything else. They strive for completion of cycles, for the story to have an ending, for the curtains to be drawn on a story in which they put their hands in.
The Maid of Time is a force to be reckoned with, and an ally - perhaps even friend - to be had.
~~~~~
This has been in my drafts for a WHILE oops jdfnvjdn sorry about the very late response, nonnie!! But I do hope this does help to give a better understanding on the Maid of Time!

Hope you're having an amazing day! If you have the time, I was having trouble deciding between a Knight of Light and a Sylph of Light. See, the character is doing an obsessive amount of research in an attempt to fix what they think is wrong with their world. They are quiet about it, work with others, and are kind of like the team leader while others are in the spotlight. So they are like a protector/healer. If you have any ideas about what classpect would fit best, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
Sorry it's been so long since I've been on here! Life has been crazy, between the pandemic, trying to find a new job, and finally approaching my top surgery in just a week! So, I'm about to have a boatload of free time on my hands, and I'm hoping to get back into this analysis gig, because I genuinely really enjoy it.
Let's start by briefly describing both the Knight and Sylph of Light to give you a better background on each. Since you know more about this character than I do, there may be qualities you see in one description that causes you to lean one way or the other. The main thing to remember—and this is a trap even I fall into from time to time—is that there's no set personality for any given Classpect, regardless of what some will tell you. All a Classpect does is define the whats and hows of your effect on the universe. It describes your toolkit, as well as a general purpose. With that said, let's first describe the Knight.
Knights are extremely good at exploiting their Aspect, and generally it benefits their team when they do so. There's a lot of debate over whether Knights are Passive or Active, and the more analysis I do, the more they seem Passive compared to the Page, whose entire arc demands that they become self-sufficient and independent, regardless of how they begin. The Knight of Light exploits things like fortune and information. They also weaponize these things with brutal efficiency. An excellent example of a Knight of Light is the child genius Bean from Ender's Game and, more importantly, Ender's Shadow. In the latter, we get a glimpse into his mind, and we see he's extremely skilled at using one tiny scrap of information to "snowball" his way into incredibly accurate predictions about the world. For a Knight of Light who focuses on research, if you give them a millimeter, they'll stretch it for a mile.
Sylphs, like Knights, are also a Passive Class. They're typically described as "healers" of their Aspect, and fortunately we have an excellent Sylph of Light in Homestuck canon to draw inspiration from: Aranea Serket. Aranea's self-described role is that of a storyteller, "healing" the gaps of information present in any given situation. She takes this job very seriously—to a fault, I might add, though one could certainly say the same about me. Since Sylphs provide such a vital role in the team composition, they're often valued members of the team, at least in terms of their Classpect abilities, and a Sylph of Light would likely be no different, capable of turning around a streak of bad luck, provide a teammate with the information they need to move forward, or even healing someone's sight, as Aranea did with Terezi. It's all up to the individual Sylph.
With each summary out of the way, let's take a look at the character you've described. Both Classes could easily fit, so I definitely see what's gotten you stuck between them! What really counts, in this case, is their motivation. A Sylph, by nature, is far more likely to have a goal like "fixing the world" because they tend to be extremely sensitive to systems, environments, or even people that they see as fundamentally broken. While a Knight would certainly take note of these things, only a Sylph would feel the strong pull to change things for the sake of fixing them, whereas the Knight is more than likely going to use the knowledge of such brokenness—and their further interpretations—to help themselves and their team navigate those systems and whatnot. To the Knight, understanding the intricacies of how screwed up the American education system is would be enough. They can work with that information and use it to achieve success for themselves and others through exploiting that broken system. A Sylph, however, would feel compelled to fix the system itself, and their obsessive gathering of pertinent knowledge would be an important step in that process, as well as a reflection of their nature as a Sylph of Light in particular.
With all that being said, I think the Sylph of Light is an excellent fit for the character you've described! I hope this helps! It's great to be able to flex my creative muscles again.

Is it okay if I ask you a session (or classpect) analysis? It’s a session with 12 players which includes having the Knight of Space, Thief of Time, Seer of Heart, Sylph of Mind, Witch of Hope, Prince of Rage, Heir of Light, Bard of Void, Page of Doom, Rogue of Life, Mage of Breath, and Maid of Blood?
You know what, sure. I’m feeling spunky.
To recap on previous analyses, its key to remember that when analyzing a session, the nature of Sburb is that the end goal is Creative, and typically requires a great amount of Teamwork. For this reason, flagging one specific classpect as a ‘potential problem’ in a game of sburb does not reflect their value as an individual. “If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree” and all that.
Since we have a lot of players to look at, lets break them down into 3 categories, and put them under a break bc shits long:
Good Signs
Maid of Blood: In any team-scenario, odds are your average blood player is going to be a great addition. With a Maid of Blood even more so, this player is going to be super in tune to making sure their team is falling in line.
Seer of Heart: Good intuition for understanding the internal insecurity and turmoil of their teammates. A good gauge to know when someone might be wrestling with more than they can handle. Couple with the Maid of blood For a good-ass combo.
Could Go Either Way
Knight of Space: In theory, a great addition as a loyal, die-hard, front-line problem solver. Problems may arise due to the fact that as a Knight and a Space-bound, they are their own helper in the creation of a new Genesis Frog. Additionally, as a Knight they are liable to refuse help from anyone out of fear of being seen as incapable of handling it on their own.
Bard of Void: Bards are usually red flags in Sburb matters, but this is a character who walks ass backwards into uncovering secrets. This could be good for trying to uncover the mysteries of the game, but bad for exposing people’s dirty laundry.
Prince of Rage: Again, Princes are also sometimes dangerous in sburb games, but a Prince of Rage would be great at putting down any resentment that starts welling up in people. If it goes too far however, they can be in danger of snuffing out their team’s motivation and will.
Mage of Breath: Will probably spend most of their game on a personal quest of self discovery and liberty. The question is whether they’ll ever stop moving long enough to help anybody else.
Witch of Hope: For some reason I see some real potential for them to be either leader or a villain. They will have very unique views on order, purpose, and morality, and will have really out-of-the-box ideas regarding the creation of the new universe that could either be inspiring or terrifying.
Heir of Light: Walking ass backwards into the secrets of Sburb, part 2. I think this character and the Bard of Void would have a lot of fun.
Sylph of Mind: Either really helpful or really annoying. Maybe both. Can read you like a book and tell you how you can be a better you. Would probably be at odds with the Seer of Heart more often than not.
Rogue of Life: Probably a peppy person who has hangups about actually expressing their positivity. Could be an asset if they figure out that their optimism is valuable and welcome.
Uh-Oh
Thief of Time: I’ve remarked before that this is probably the most active base class that exists. Spontaneous, brutally efficient, and does not trust anyone else in this session enough to count on them in a pinch.
Page of Doom: Would probably enter the session being not super useful (sry). They would come in with baggage and spend a lot of time feeling sorry for themself and their situation. If they ascend, then they would figure out how to turn their grief outward and help others learn how to heal.
TL,DR; The Seer of Heart and the Maid of Blood have amazing potential to snuff out personal and interpersonal conflict before they have a chance to boil over and cause problems for everyone. If they combine their strength, they will be able to spot potential problems such as ‘The Knight needs help’, ‘The Rogue of Life is afraid to Feel’, and ‘Where the fuck is the Mage of Breath’. The Seer of Heart would have to learn how to work with the Sylph of Mind as they battled to convince everyone to ‘be yourself’ vs ‘be who you need to be’, respectively.
If the Page of Doom and Rogue of Life figure their shit out before shit hits the fan, they would also be crucial in helping the team stay together and mentally healthy. If they don’t, they could just be dead weight. The Bard of Void and Heir of Light would traipse around the medium, stumbling into mystery after mystery and ultimately helping the team understand their situation and the world around them a lot better than they would otherwise.
The Knight of Space will do fine if they do take on some help with the Genesis Frog. If they don’t, its possible that a corrupt Witch of Hope may take advantage and shape the genesis frog to their will, creating the perfect world in their image and ultimately breaking everything.
The Mage of Breath and Thief of Time will be hard to tie down. The Prince of Rage might help or hurt this, either by encouraging them to stop caring about the game and give up, or by lighting a fire under their as and encouraging them to go out and Wreck Some Shit that is In Need Of Wrecking. Its going to take the Maid of Blood, Seer of Heart, Rogue of Life, Prince of Rage’s combined strength to point the Thief of Time, in that general direction, however.
Lots of possibility for things to go wrong, but it wouldn’t be Sburb without it now would it?

Aspect Groupings, IMO
Hi, first off, huge shoutout to @communistvriska who makes brilliant classpecting posts (they’re walls of text but it’s good text). But she made this fantastic analysis of the relationships between aspects and how they’re related to their positions on the aspect wheel (link).
So, I know, like, the post above is considerably more canon, but it made me remember that I think of the aspects in groups, too. It’s definitely a different system, and it doesn’t make quite as much sense w.r.t. the aspect wheel, but it’s my take (albeit a tepid one). And honestly, screw canon.
Please, take these with a grain of salt, because I am most definitely not writing these all out feverishly at 2 am. (No Keep Reading tag we you die like men)
Space-Time-Void: The World Aspects
These are the three aspects that are intrinsically connected to the fabric of reality. Yes, I’m excluding Light in this definition because of its alternate meaning, which is the one that seems more often used metaphysically in Sburb. But yeah, you have Space and Time, which are opposites in a sense (Space is the tangible reality and Time is the intangible but still real liminality), but then Void, which is absence, is basically the opposite of them both.
These are the most meta aspects, in a certain sense, because physics is based upon them. But they’re also the most tangible ones. They’re the ones with the most concretely singular definitions. They’re the ones that affect the dimensions that we can pass through (if Time counts as a dimension).
Going off of more symbolic representations of them, Space is creation, Time is revision (it’s basically the big fix-it tool of the cosmos), and Void is... well, it’s not really destruction; that’s Rage’s purview. It’s more of uncertainty. You’d think that would fit best with the Next aspects because they’re all about what’s going to happen next, but ACTUALLY MEGAN it doesn't quite fit there. Those aspects know where they’re going or where they might go. Void doesn’t know. Heck, it doesn’t even know the past sometimes (re: Equius’s Pesterquest route). But Void still fits the whole building metaphor because it’s like when you’re working on a Minecraft castle and you have no idea what to do next. Wondering about that sort of thing, and just waiting and walking around the building you’ve built, is rather important to the creative process, imo.
Mind-Heart-Blood: The Self Aspects
These are the three aspects that are intrinsically connected to one’s sense of self: body (Blood), mind (Mind), and soul (Heart). (Insert Vriska (Vriska) joke here (and another one about missing close-parentheses in Python (if you can’t tell, this was mostly written while sleep-deprived)).) But Blood is significantly more abstract than that: it’s also about one’s relationships with others, but in a different sense than Heart is. Blood is about bonds, and Heart is about emotions. And Mind is about logic, which, you could say, is an opposite of both of them.
You could even go so far as to compare Mind, Blood, and Heart to the Modes of Persuasion - logos, ethos, and pathos (respectively). Again, they’re representative of different aspects of a person’s psyche. But, like, I have no idea how you might apply that.
Okay, I have an idea with how that’s kind of being applied. Terezi’s the big Mind (translation: galaxy brain) player, and she’s all about lawyering and rules and logic. There’s your logos. Dirk’s the most developed Heart player, and he’s all about convincing through appeals to emotion, and that’s for the most part how he manipulates the narrative in the Epilogues and the ^2. There’s your pathos. And Karkat, the Blood player, uh, most of his leader stuff is in a sort of Cincinnatus-type of way; he’s not being the trolls session leader or the presidential candidate cuz he wants to, he’s doing it because somebody’s gotta step up and do it and he wants to do the right thing. There’s your ethos.
Breath-Light-Doom: The Next Aspects
These aspects being grouped together is why I made these groupings in the first place. Because, when taken deeper than face level, they all refer to one’s future. Breath is destiny (this is kind of a stretch, but “Winds of destiny, change!”), Light is chance, and Doom is fate. Yes, those are all synonyms, but they also refer to different aspects of one’s future. Destiny is about the biggest picture, where you fit in to the grand scheme of things; but it’s also about where the wind takes you here and now. It’s an extrapolation of your current path. Fate is about the fixed waypoints and endpoints, where the path will bottleneck, where you will go no matter what. And chance is about how much the path can divert along the way, and how much leeway the bottlenecks hold, and what you need to do to modify the biggest picture.
The more literal definitions of these aspects are Breath as wind; Light as, well, light (insert another Vriska (Vriska) joke here); and Doom as... uh, death.
I, uh, I really don’t have much else to say here. Uh, you guys take this one.
Hope-Rage-Life: The Now Aspects
This grouping, for me, is the most confusing (partly because they’re the aspects left over once the obvious ones are grouped together). Because Hope and Rage being tied together makes sense, obviously, but what does that all have to do with Life?
Well, I think they’re all mental attitudes, in a way, how we act now and how we choose to look at existence. Hope is optimism, Rage is pessimism, and Life is idealism. Take note: none of these are realism, not even Life. They’re all coloured lenses: When you look with Hope, you see the best version of the future. When you look with Rage, you see the worst version of the future. When you look with Life, you see your desired version of the future. But none of these are the real version of the future. Sure, they’re all beneficial in their own way, but sometimes you have to take those lenses off. I feel like Hope, Rage, and Life players have the hardest time taking off their own lenses.
Then there’s more literal definitions of the aspects: Hope is belief, Rage is destruction, and Life is growth. Very loosely speaking, these are the actions that you’d take in order to fulfill the respective mindsets. Like, I’m optimistic about Vrisrezi Real HS^2 Endgame (this optimism might be misplaced), so I’m believing super hard in that coming to pass. I’m pessimistic about Order of the Stick ending on any note other than the Snarl winning (but tbh this pessimism could also be misplaced), so I’m like “okay heck with it let it get wrecked big-time”. I’m idealistic about how I can eventually get not depressed (I pray that it’s not misplaced), so I’m working on growing in the not-depression area.
In like the grand scale, with reference to all of them
I’m not looking at these aspects in their relationship to a session. I’m more looking at them based on what they are, by definition. All these aspects are interconnected, they’re all related in different ways, especially in terms of definition, so you could absolutely make different groupings based on their definitions. This is just my take.
One thing I noticed about the Aspect Wheel is that it’s a cycle, the cycle of being. Space is about creation and birth, so you start there. You aren’t yet anything more than a substance, but then comes in your Mind, and you’re administered Hope, that you will yet be something more. And then you take your first Breath, and there begins your Life. You learn and are enLightened, and Time passes. You grow up. You learn to manage your Heart, and you have to fight against Rage, and then you form bonds of Blood. Your Blood spills out after long, and ultimately you have to face your Doom. You enter the Void. And there it ends, but there it also begins.
Wow, that got pretentious.
I have to wonder how religion would work in a setting like Sburb, if at all. The classpect system is pretty irreligious. But I’ll save that for a later post. Maybe.

i am here, and im simping very hard- Also its fine if you dont wanna do this character, I just figured I would ask hgfhghfs May I ask your opinions on a classpect for Roronoa Zoro from one piece? Thank you so much, I love your analysis's (analysises? I do not know spell smh)
Roronoa Zoro, the vice captain of the Strawhat pirates. Despite the incredibly long series, Zoro doesn’t actually have... much of a character. His entire life has been dedicated to becoming the best swordsman he can be. He drinks a lot of booze. Not only does he have no sense of direction, his sense of direction is so bad that reliably, if you told him to go left he’d be turning right. The best comparison I could make would be to Ampharos in super mystery dungeon if you’ve played that. He’s generally a jolly fellow when he isn’t focusing on pumping iron or cutting iron (Swordplay). He’s also honorable to a fault. And finally, he won’t hurt any women, though he isn’t obnoxious about it like Sanji is.
Tumblr media
Honestly, that’s about all I can think of. The while reason I like him is cuz he does cool sword bullshit, which is fine. But it doesn’t leave a whole lot to analyze. So I’m gonna cut to the chase.
Zoro is a Bard of Breath.
Tumblr media
One who destroys [Breath]/one who invites destruction through [Breath].
Remembering that Breath is all about, Freedom, Direction, and the literal Wind.
The most notable thing about him is his crazy ass drive to become the greatest swordsmen ever. He’s completely uncompromising regarding it. The direction his life is on ends up with him just, straight up murdering shit loads of people. There are a few really obvious examples here, but it also generally applies to his whole journey. Whiskey peak, where he cuts an entire town of mercenaries & bounty hunters to ribbons as they come to collect the massive bounties on the heads of the crew (Just him and Luffy at the time). A bit before that he breaks two of his three swords and, looking for a replacement ends up buying a famous but cursed sword. Whoever wields the sword ends up meeting a gruesome end (Even though that’s probably just the product of being a swordsman and not a real curse), it also apparently urges him to kill people, though we only see this once that I can remember (In Whisky Peak).
Tumblr media
This whole sword is perfect for a Bard of Breath funnily enough. 2 separate curses that both chip away at the user’s free will along with being an incredibly good sword that allows Zoro to pursue his dream and continue using his 3-sword style. Zoro’s severe lack of a sense of direction is also perfect. Him knocking out Sanji so he can bear the brunt of Luffy’s trauma courtesy of Bartholemew Kuma on Thriller Bark, I could go on and on but I think that’s enough specific examples.
Him being horrible with directions also enforces the Bard of Breath title. He destroys his own sense of direction and ends up being completely useless regarding navigation. Similar to how Dirk is “Heartless” Zoro is “Directionless”. His profession of being a pirate hunter could been seen as destroying other’s freedom too. I’d argue that his long range sword slashes (Where he swings his swords so hard the air moves like it was fired out of a cannon) count as inviting destruction through the literal wind. He’s got a bunch of other similar attacks that use the wind to cut people too that I don’t feel like listing.
Tumblr media
Pretty much the rest of his character is just some specific flavor of, “I’m stubborn”. Which also fits with Breath players being very sure of their direction in life.
In a Sburb session, unlike most other Bards I think Zoro would actually be relatively trouble free. Most you just have to point him in a direction and he’ll just fly off and kill whatever he runs into. You might end up with some trouble if he can’t find his way off his planet or to Skaia for the final battle tho. I think if he’s in a session with the other Strawhats though, everything should be fine. Nami’ll probably just show up and drag him to where he needs to go.

Sorry if this is out of the blue, but what do you think of the whole "Heart players deal with their splinters"? To me, it doesn't really make sense?
I keep seeing it in classpecting posts (which are years old tbf) and imo, splinters are a Dirk thing, not a Heart thing.
I mean, if Heart is the aspect of the True Self, then it makes sense for Dirk as a Prince to destroy it and have multiple selves. But Nepeta, for example, never struggles with this? Nor Meulin?
The only other self Nepeta has is her role-playing persona, which she doesn't really struggle with, and her Dream Self which I think was awake on Prospit before the start of the game.
Unless you count Fefetasprite and Davepetasprite, and she seems happy as both.
I feel like sometimes fans only look at Dirk to define Heart and forget that Nepeta also was a Heart player, or that Dirk had a Destroyer class.
What the hell?
Yeah, this is absolutely a problem caused by what I like to call “Strider Bias”. Dirk is very, very frequently used as the sole reference for analysis of Heart as an Aspect, with complete disregard for the fact that he is a Prince. It’s such an issue within Classpect Analysis that even the Official Extended Zodiac Site fucked this up.
Splinters are a Dirk only problem, stemming from his specific manifestation of him being a Prince of Heart. This is because Heart is the Aspect of the True Self, and Prince is a Destructive Class. He expresses this by fragmenting his soul- or his self- into “Splinters” and scattering them elsewhere. This is not something that other Heart players have to deal with, because the nature of their relationship with Heart is not inherently Destructive. Destruction of Heart is needed for Splintering. That is in the very nature and title of the ability.
Earnestly, Spriting does not count towards Splintering unless what was put within the Sprite… Was ALREADY a Splinter. Davepetasprite^2 and Fefetasprite are not Splinters of Nepeta. They’re just Sprites that happen to have Nepeta in them, who happens to be a Heart player. No one’s saying Erisolsprite is a Splinter of Sollux or Eridan, nor that Davesprite is a Splinter of Dave or the crow. That side of the argument falls apart when you consider that the Heartbound aren’t the only people that get Sprited.
Same for the Roleplaying example. The Heartbound aren’t the only people that Roleplay. Nepeta’s roleplaying has to do with her being a Rogue of Heart. That’s a Redistribution class. She’s just putting her soul into a character for a while as a means of earnest self expression. She gets her friends to do it with her, yes, but none of it has to do with Splintering. It’s not Destructive. You need Destruction to form Splinters.

Hey Spacey idk if this would count as a quad analysis or not and if it does then feel 110% free to ignore/delete this, but what classpect do you think would be a good moirail for a Prince of Time who’s gone through a lot of varied types of abuse from a big number of people?
Hm. Well... let’s see. Moirails ground each other and keep each other stable and the Prince of Time has a lot to be stabilized. A Prince of Time is a very creative and ambitious person at heart but they have tendencies to be extremely impatient, the type to find shortcuts and rush things even if it may harm the situation. I think ...
A SEER OF HEART would work fantastic for this. Princes usually need someone to keep them in check, and a Seer is not only excellent for this, but they would be great at directing the Prince to use their offensive powers for good. The Seer of Heart would be able to understand and empathize with the Prince’s distress, seeing the Prince for how they truly are on the inside. They’d understand their moirail’s inner crises and would be able to prevent them from flying off the handle.
Hope this helps, hun - and I hope you get better soon.

I just looked at the first twenty English-language results for a few different tags, and I counted the number of works in each tag that are strictly nonfictional.
Nonfiction: 19/20
Essays: 17/19
Analysis: 7/20
Meta: 7/20
Character Analysis: 5/20
Metafiction: 2/20
This might be a little inaccurate, since I've only read each work's metatext (or taken a quick peek at the work if necessary). But I think it's mostly correct; it's pretty easy to tell at a glance whether something is fic.
Nonfiction is, as you might expect, a catch-all for a bunch of different types of work. A sizeable minority of them are memoirs or personal diaries.
Essays looks like the best, most focused tag (of the ones I examined) for anyone actively seeking fannish nonfiction. Now that I know this, I'm definitely going to use this tag for all of my own meta that's in essay format.
The Meta tag itself seems to contain a lot of fanfic that breaks the fourth wall, which is why it's surprisingly low on actual nonfictional content. Essays, Metafiction, and Fanwork Research & Reference Guides are all subtags of Meta—so if a work contains any of those three tags, it will also appear in search results for Meta, but the reverse isn't true.
-
Whenever I post meta to AO3, my first additional tag is always Nonfiction (and now I plan to tag works as Essays when applicable). Most people who use AO3 are looking for fanfic to read, so when I post something that isn't fic, I want to loudly advertise that fact.
I also tag the specific type of meta I'm writing. For me, that's usually Character Analysis. I've also tagged for Headcanons, Speculation, Analysis (of which Character Analysis is a subtag), Criticism of canon, and—because of my extremely niche hobby of assigning hero titles to non-Homestuck characters—Classpects (Homestuck).
-
For character and relationship tags, I follow the same rule as I do with fanfic. Is this work about a character or ship, or does it just mention them in passing? I tag for the former, but not the latter.
Here are some (non-exhaustive) examples of meta works that I would probably add character and/or relationship tags to:
An analysis of two characters' canon interactions and relationship dynamic
A comparison of one character's canon vs. fanon characterization
A gushing essay about why your favorite rarepair is a really good ship that everyone should consider shipping
A list of headcanons about a specific character or specific ship
Basically, will fans of X character or ship—the people who comb through the X tag looking for more content about X—plausibly be interested in your work? If yes, I would tag for X.
Hello! I'm so happy the ask box is open! I'd like to ask, do you have any indications and tips for posting metas on ao3? Like how to tag them properly, if there are general meta-related tags to use valid for every fandom (like, to distinguish them from fics)... Anything could help! Thank you so much ❤️
[this ask was sent in months ago - the ask box is not currently open]
The most universal tags that I know of for meta are #meta and #metafiction, and of course there's also #headcanon if it's more in that vein.
I think combining those with whatever other relevant tags there might be is useful, but so is how you title and summarize. Different people pay attention to different things so make use of all of the tools you have available to you in order to get your message across.
If you're posting meta about fanfic in general and not about one particular fandom or character, you could also tag something like #panfandom. I've personally also used #Fanwork Research and Reference Guides - again, that will depend on what kind of meta it is that you're posting.
If you're creating a panfandom sort of meta, the Fandom tag to use would be No Fandom. Otherwise, just tag the fandom(s) that you're writing about. Also remember that Categories, Relationships, Characters, and Additional Tags are all optional - you don't have to tag anything there if you don't want to.
Have any of you posted meta on AO3? Do you enjoy reading it there? What recommendations do you have for posting/finding meta fic?
