As someone who hasn’t played the twst game very long I just got into it. I wanted to know about events? Like do some not come back? For example do the Masquerade, Port, Beanfest, Ghost bride, starsending events. Do those come back? I hear people say how they missed their chance to get this great card like as if it won’t ever come back and then someone on Reddit will say something like “Oh beanfest happened twice on the JP server” so which events have gotten reruns so far? I would ask about more recent ones like the Easter one but idk if it’s too recent to know if get rerun or if they clarify that it won’t come back? I was really sad to find out about the Silk outfits I missed out on when they visit the scalding sands. I also was really sad to find out i missed out on the anniversary cards because I didn’t play the game yet. I wish they would add the anniversary cards to the store at least…I want to be apart of the celebration :’)
I was looking in the shop and saw all the different groovy items you need to groovify event cards and this question just came to me so I had the urge to ask someone…
welcome to Twst! 🎉 it is a bit confusing to jump right into, especially because. they're not always consistent. :') it sounds like you're probably playing on Eng, which I'm less familiar with, but I'll try based on what I know! (I also don't always remember everything, so somebody please correct me if I get something wrong!)
first, I do recommend the Twst wiki.gg, which seems to stay pretty up-to-date on events for both the Eng and JP versions! it's a great resource for when you want to see if/when an event ran or rerun. in general, I believe that the Eng version only does reruns that have already happened in JP, so if JP has a rerun that hasn't happened yet in Eng, they should get it too eventually! on the other hand, I don't think either version has ever rerun an event more than once. :( BUT this doesn't mean you're entirely out of luck, because:
anniversary events (March for JP, January for Eng) will usually offer a chance to get both an older event SSR and an older birthday SSR in the shop, via buying a special item with exchange currency (which you get by doing pulls on the anniversary gacha, I think you need to do 100-150 pulls for enough currency to buy the item to exchange for an SSR). only SSRs though, and you're limited to one each (one birthday, one event). so if there's an SSR you REALLY want and it's already had its rerun, it's probably worth planning to save up some keys for!
as for actual reruns, they seem to come in a few different flavors:
straight-up rerun, no changes or extra cards
unchanged event story, with a new SSR of a character who wasn't in the story (e.g. Applepom Jamil)
slightly rewritten event story that includes a new SSR (e.g. Ghost Marriage, they don't seem to do this anymore though)
completely new event story that acts as either a sequel or alternate-universe version of the original (e.g. Beans Day part 2, Fairy Gala IF) (though this is pretty rare and might actually count as a separate event, rather than a rerun?)
Master Chef/Culinary Crucible events have never gotten reruns (though they might start now that we've finally gotten through all the characters in JP, time will tell). birthday and Halloween events will also rerun the previous version in addition to the new one -- for instance, Eng should be getting a Glorious Masquerade rerun this year, followed by the new (Playful Land) Halloween event. and a birthday campaign will, in addition to the new card, have a separate pickup for the previous year's birthday card.
for the specific ones you mentioned -- I think Beanfest, Ghost Bride, Fireworks, and Starsending have already rerun in Eng, so those most likely will not be rerun again (at least not anytime soon). Masquerade should be coming back for you guys this Halloween, and Portfest JUST got its rerun in JP, so that should be coming too sometime in the future! (no new SSR though, alas, I was really hoping for a little marching band sailor boy Leona. 😔) the Easter event is the White Rabbit Fest, right? that one hasn't gotten a rerun in JP yet either, so it's still on the table!
all that said, it's entirely possible they'll change the rules at some point and start doing more reruns/chances to get older event cards, especially since the game's been going on for a few years now and some cards haven't been available for a pretty long time! there's only one card that they said was for-realsies limited-time-only and wouldn't ever be available again -- Platinum Grim, since he was to celebrate the 100th anniversary -- so. there's always a little bit of hope for everything else. :D (fairy gala Ortho PLEASE COME BACK SOB)
#twisted wonderland#twisted wonderland spoilers#(probably somewhere in there)#(i have lost track of everything i'm so sorry)#joseimuke games are serious business#we did also get a rerun pickup of some of the episode 7 story cards#so if you missed those you should get another chance at them too!#sometimes though despite your best efforts the gacha just will NOT cooperate#between masquerade malleus and fairy gala ortho i sometimes think this game is mocking me#me through clenched teeth and white-knuckled hands: it's fine it's not the end of the world if i don't get the fancy png#have you SEEN how fancy these pngs are though. god.#also this reminded me that it's the 27th in japan and i gotta get my free keys thank you leona#speaking of leona when/if we do finally get a white rabbit rerun i know who i'm rooting for as a new ssr#(i mean i do also very much want a froofy fluffy bunny malleus but just PICTURE leona)#i've said it before and i'll say it again: leona is always the funniest option for anything#i want him in every single event just because he would be SO annoyed#ghost marriage tuxedo leona. jewel-encrusted tapis rouge leona. BIG FLUFFY APPLEPOM LEONA.#each with the same expression of an angry wet cat#what a beautiful mental image

totk thought
i feel like totk (as unfinished and duct taped together as it feels, which is wild given the time and everything) missunderstood what was so appealing about a direct sequel to botw, at least in my opinion
i have talked in length about what good of a foundation botw built to keep going with its world and characters and mysteries, and how totk needlessly, bafflingly, throws ALL of it away instead (and i do mean all of it, to me other than their models being the same no character feels like that character anymore etc), which is connected to my next point
alot of people were worried about them reusing botws world, some really didnt like it, some thought it would be fine as long as they changed enough (which they didnt..), and i thought it was really appealing bc i was excited to see this world progress, grow (not size), to .. change, but not how totk did 'change', its all rather surface level anyway, but the change i was interested in was seeing locations i loved be expanded, built upon, developed- and i feel like that is what they should have focused on, if you reuse the same world you CANNOT get it to feel as new and exciting as it did the first time for returning players, which id say is most of them, so you need to shift focus
aside from its mysteries and story potential of botw to be built further (which totk does not, you cannot change my mind, dont try) soemthing i was THRILLED about was just to see how the world has grown- i hoped to see the towns maybe expanded, new buildings in hateno added, someone perhaps painted their house, someone built or IS building a new additional room to their home (maybe you could help finish it?), some thing that made it feel like time passed and people lived there, sure, adding some mushroom stuff is change .. but its rather surface level, like all other changes
in taburasa (tarrey town?) there could have been new houses, maybe they tunneled into the mountain and built cellars there, have some buildings be attached to the sides, the narrow pathway secured with stonewalls, something that felt .. logical? instead they ,,,, removed ... buildings??? homes you literally built a few years ago?? just to make way for kiltons little figurine project, which was funny, but also a little? why remove buildings to put him there, couldnt it have been on the other side of the bridge?? or like a balcony on the side of the cliff?(even the forest .. well the forest is mostly gone and its now an ugly to look at playground for a short little building thing, it all feels so ..... idk, forced? pasted on, this isnt there bc it makes sense, this is your playground)
same should be said about the main regions villages (though my idea there is to actually change it via devastation aka death mountain collapsed and gorons forced to move or adapt, or the zoras dried out and them being forced to go elsewhere, rito being trapped in an actual dangerous blizzard so cold you need special gear for it an cant glide etc bc its damn stupid to put the points of interest in the EXACT same location as last game and then neither change them signifacntly, permantenly, NOR use anything existing as the base for the new dungeons, like making the water temple be an ancient cistern or .. waterworks underneath the now dried out lakes instead), the village of the zoras isnt expanded or anything, its got mud there and an insulting statue change but the mud goes away and then its the same as ever, just like all the other things are undoable and it all goes back to before (aside from death mountains lava)
WHY would the stable in that big empty field just ... vanish? esepcialyl that one?? there isnt anything like a dramatic change there, there is not bossfight there, theres nothing, its just gone and its empty footstep replaced with a semi annoying quest (that is also reused ....)
why the fuck did malanya move???????? the horse god????? leave them there and have the way to them now built in awe of them or soemthing, show that people are travelling there now having found their spring, have it overgrown with flowers that have funny horse shapes or something, even if they dont show up for other people, let them give you a quest that introduces new kinds and colors of horses instead of one random old guy in the spy post after which suddendly there is new pattern??
the statue of in the gerudo highlands, instead of having a very specific puzzle suddendly pasted on, toppled over or broken to reveal an entrance to a new or old shikah/yiga base, or an old gerudo town that shows there was a group that once lived up there (maybe ganondorfs followers???? those that stayed loyal or soemthing??)
akkala fucking fortress?? prime material for a dungeon revealing disgusting secrets of the shiekah persecution or something? no its .. a cave like any other in the door. somehow. in the dirt. (what what waHT WAT)
castle town rebuilt, that farm ruin rebuild! maybe to let all your horses roam there in a big space?? a central tavern hub for the recovering land! ruins that felt like untold stories or teasers to be given a purpose! the fairy fountains being in the same place but their lair expanded, a larger flower or now like a little lake, people actually manaing to visit them now and there being little shrines or offerings, decorations! maybe one of them had to flee (if the "cataclysm" actually .. did anything) which would make that impact much stronger, no, they are just picked up and plopped into the next best place to create the surface level illusion of change without understanding how that comes across, they have to be unlocked again, for some reason, and now its music with the most annyoing quest attached than even the sign guy- why?
how cool would it have been to find a spring and the fairy not being there, her spring is, its open, but she isnt there, a kidnapped fairy somewhere in the udnerground? a corrupted one? since its reusing the same world what you need to do is think about how to surprise the player that grew accustomed to things and attached to chaarcters, and significantly mix up the main points, focus on the characters and narrative to hook them without making it feel forced, its diffcult yes, but so is game making, and botw was such a great basis that imo its not even that hard to come up with compelling things
im not saying there arent any changes, or there was no attempt, but it falls flat or utterly missunderstood WHAT needed to change, the spypost is the biggest attempt at that, but even that doesnt feel like it was done bc it made sense, like the things they wanted to happen where the first thought and the entire thing built just to support that, so all it serves for is to give you that 'hub', even though that position is weird? the place chosen a little disrespectful imo and not very save either, hyrule castle was cleared after clam gan was done for, why would you built a SPY post on the ground level directly in front??? well ,, that was bc the cataclysm happens and the castle is AGAIN the place of the boss, and AGAIN poisoned, the people there couldnt have known it, it makes no sense even if you say well the ground was so poisoned from botw still they wouldnt built there, .. but then right in front? in the middle of a flat field? you could have used the farm ruins for that hub? put it on the hills that are all around?
even characters, instead of like expanding on their character and continueing or challenging their ideals its just so flat, all of them have abilities they never had before, that were never hinted at, other than being vaguely genetically connected to the champions, excuse me, those dont matter, the SAGES i mean, you see riju struggle like, once, with a power she didnt use to have and it only really serves to make her power used by you not her herself (the others didnt need that excuse?) tulin makes me the most mad and his cuteness only worsens it bc he was a little side NPC in botw, now suddendly the main guy (instead of teba?? i guess he was too old, sorry teba, only kids can be blessed with powers or something) he has no character arc and .... he can just use almost an exact copy of revalis storm, just sideways, which is both boring and insulting given how much revali struggled to learn it (which also explains his attitude!!) other characters just seem to forget part of themselves bc its not relevant, robbie has de-made cherry into a little bucket size thing, washt she important to him? purah doesnt have any interesting beat to her either, she just .. offscreen made herself the perfect pretty age with the tech that supposedly vanished as soon as clam gan was done? what? and only serves you to tell you where to go over and over, its sad (not saying botw gave her a super intersting arc or sth, but it built the basis for it, you could have expanded on it? have her reunite with impa? anything?) (and not all shiekah tech is gone, its still there, aaaaaaaaaargh it doesnt make any sense!!!! but its to serve you so, it serves YOU, PLAYER CHARACTER)
the entire game is awfully plagued with that problem, nothing it does feels logical or lived in bc it only serves YOU (and their new favorite thing that everyone loves and should obsess over, sonau/zonai! who doesnt love everything being THEM TM), and once you have checked it off your list it ceases to be anything, theres is no thought about why a contraption is there or what purpose it once served, bc it never has, it serves only to fling you somwhere; to some extent that is fine, like the snowy mansion dungeon in twilight princess is a weird way to build a mansion/fortress but you know its a dungeon so its gotta be that way, back when dungeons where dungeons, but you can easily overdo it, i think its good to think about the world and how to make it interesting for the player at the same time, there needs to be a balance of believability and deniability; a character telling you to press a button is gamestuff, a little weird but ok, a dungeon being built a little weird, well, its a dungeon- people walking around in normal ass summer clothing in the region thats frozen solid? that makes it less believable, even if the game joke about it that they are freezing or explains via 'these people dont feel the cold' or whatever (pokemoooooooooon)
especially with botws foundation, you could have achieved that, easily at times, theres so little restriction anymore, the wasted potential and needlessly thrown away 'everything' still hurts
#ganondoodles talks#zelda#ganondoodles rants#totk critical#woke up and suddendly had this thoguht#and of course it got long again#... going back to play stardew now#long post#this needed to get out#even if people are tired of me shouting these things from the rooftops

Idk what is it with legacy but everything seems to me like it was written on a napkin five minutes before the programming started. I'm crying about the ancient magic and the fact that nothing was done with it. The friends weren't involved with the plot enough, Fig was involved too much (were they trying to copy year 4 and 5 with Rakepick???), we CAN'T FUCKING ALLY WITH RANROK, Isodora and Bragbor successfully cooperated to create the repository but we can't have main character and ranrok paralleling that and working together.
You know, you're absolutely right.
This game was like...almost incredible. But in every area it could have been incredible, there's this pesky "almost" stuck as a prefix for this reason or that reason.
The companion mod is proof that not enough was done with the characters in this game (Amit doesn't even get a quest-line) but it's obvious that the characters are still compelling. Poppy and Natsai are three dimensional and lovable, and Sebastian's popularity speaks for itself. Even the ones who aren't meant to be in focus can be well crafted. (They rolled a real winner with Ominis, I said what I said.)
Fig was obviously meant to be a significant character (I am still not clear on what subject he teaches, does anyone know...?) and given his connection to the plot through Miriam, that's to be expected. He's a lovable guy and I don't mind him being so relevant, but it's obvious that (for better or for worse) the student characters are largely here by obligation and in the mind of the developers, they're more for side-quest content. That other characters like Fig and Lodgok are meant to be the important ones. Again, for better or for worse. I've heard it said that Sebastian's story should have just been the main storyline of the game and honestly...that's not entirely a bad idea.
Though frankly, I think a far better idea would have been just having Isidora as the villain instead of Ranrok.
Which is a good segue into talking about the other points you mentioned. I've talked about this before as well, but yes. Ranrok was beyond wasted as a character. What you describe would have been perfect, and yeah, it would have mirrored the backstory. It seems so obvious. Ranrok deserved more development and deserved to be portrayed as someone the MC might sympathize with. He deserved an ending of his own, where the player can side with him. Never mind the political, real-life reasons for why this was essential, it's just a no-brainer in an open world RPG that would have you believe it has multiple endings. (It really doesn't...)
Oh and that reminds me, this game pretends it has two endings when really, it only has one. Yes, you can choose to harness the Ancient Magic rather than becoming a Keeper, but it changes nothing about the game's ending. Half of the players were already going to head-canon their MCs as doing that anyway. The Ancient Magic is such an intriguing concept but apart from being a map marker for The Fifth Year to discover new plot threads, we don't learn much about it at all.
Honestly, the most fascinating the Ancient Magic ever gets is when we're learning about it through Isidora. The scene where she removed her father's pain was genuinely chilling, and in that I saw the glimmer of a terrifying villain wielding magic we had never seen before. Isidora would have been the best kind of villain because she would have believed she was doing the right thing and would have had understandable reason why she believed it. What she could do to those who oppose her...what she did to the people she loved, and all because she wanted to help them...the power of Ancient Magic is frightening, in no small part because we know so little about it, but we could definitely have stood to learn a little bit more, especially as it's unlikely to be featured again. (Unless they make a sequel.)
I think above all, what this story needed was more nuance. Everything is way too black and white. There are hints of something more, but they get dropped almost immediately as they get brought up. Maybe that's why Sebastian's storyline is a fan-favorite. His dynamic with Ominis and where his story ultimately goes, not to mention the sympathetic reasons why it ends up where it does...and the actual impact The Fifth Year's choices can have on this story...yeah, the rest of the game could take note. Isidora isn't developed enough, and neither is Ranrok, when they could both be exceptional characters.
You want to know my favorite scene of the game, bar none? The scene where Lodgok opens up about meeting Miriam and his grief at her death. That. That is the kind of nuance I'm talking about, and combined with the scene's atmosphere and raw emotion...I teared up. I mean it. That was so powerful. I wish more of the Ranrok storyline was like that more of the time. Any story in the Potterverse that centers around a Goblin Rebellion cannot afford to be this black and white, and we all know why. But in general, it's just better storytelling if there are more shades of gray.

i'm suffering under the curse rn BUT. i am 3 episodes in to The Magnus Protocol and so far my thoughts are that it seems pretty good! on the one hand i should probably do my best to separate tmagp from tma but at the same time, i mean, the only reason i'm listening to tmagp is bc of prior attachment to tma, so it's interesting to me to contrast and compare them (though in all fairness it's been a while since i listened to tma).
the new cases are definitely cool so far in terms of allowing for more formats, i wonder if we're gonna get any future explanation for their eloquent presentation like we did in tma since idk if there's any hints so far at what the whole worldbuilding deal is with that so far in tmagp.
i will say that- do to the different formatting and immediate bigger cast who gets more focus and whatnot- tmagp feels more 'TV' in a certain way. which isn't a pejorative statement and i actually really dislike it when ppl assume something being 'TV' means it's low quality or shallow, lol. tmagp is a good example of something feeling 'TV' but it's a notable difference and is casting my mind back to the discourse/discussion about a tma tv adaptation and what that would look like back when archive 81 got one. i imagine it'd feel a lot more tmagp inspired.
cast is cool so far! i admire alice's actress for being able to pull of the extremely tumblrific dialogue (which i know is on purpose but was also VERY off-putting to me at first- it's the kind of thing that i love when written but spoken aloud in a fictional setting sometimes raises my hairs for some reason). i already love gwen, she's defs gonna be the toxic woman i get attached to and then regret it (assuming i listen to more episodes which i hope i do? i'm not great at it but i do like finishing things, my brain is just pulled into all directions rn if that wasn't already apparent). Colin you're great, i can't wait to watch you break down. Sam you're great too in a way that your personality rn makes me very excited for your potential future corruption arc (obligatory reminder i'm only 3 eps in and just making educated guesses based on what jonny and co did for tma, though i do acknowledge that there's a lot more fingers in the proverbial protocol pie rn)
in general i'm curious about the direction of the show, namely how they're gonna make it tragic in a way that's different to tma? bc i always maintain that the beauty of tma is the slowburn, and how everything happens so slowly that by the time you realise what path we're on, it's too late to stop any of it, and the more you learn about these people and this world, the more you realise it was always going to end like this, even if it didn't have to.
it's a tough feat to pull off and the inherently different structure of tmagp makes me wonder if they're gonna have to pivot what kind of tragedy this is. it's probably apparent right now to anyone who's properly caught up but as for me? i'm curious and cautiously interested. idk if i'm ever really gonna get involved with the fandom like i did with tma (bc that was a mostly great but also wild and formative experience for me and in general i'm bad at being multifandom no matter how much i wish i could be bc it would make my life sooo much easier. but unfortunately the shape of my autism (title of my new movie and/or hit single /j) does not allow for it with any ease. only struggle)
anyway i have an essay on political cinema to write so i really need to close this window lmao. will perhaps consider some kind of liveblog or sequel post to this as my listening progresses
#ramblings of a lunatic#not maintagging bc really only my tma mutuals (who are the real ones btw for sticking with me through my many pivots) r the ones-#-who'd be interested in my thoughts on this potentially lol#in general i was VERY sceptical of rq making a sequel to any of their productions let alone magnus#bc mag just didn't seem like the kind of series that would do well with one#but the spin-off/au angle does a lot of heavy lifting for this i think#like i think the magnus institute mystery would still be interesting- even if it wouldn't hit the same- if mag didn't exist...#...and it was just protocol#ANYWAY i desperatley need to write#if only a hundred words or so lol i do have plany off time (<- devil talking help me)

got any Sweezy x Harper hcs?
It’s a very gradual thing and there’s never really a confession it’s just like. Somewhere along the lines they make it official. If there were ever a confession it’d be a major snorplo moment where it’s like “we’ve legit been dating for years now”
they're both stoked tho
I would not be surprised if it's something that happens later in the timeline honestly. if we get swarper for realzies in canon im assuming it's not happening until like. probably later in the sequel. idk if the animated series would be another interquel with all the bounties we didn't see between the game and dlc or more of a retelling of the game orrr??? idk idk??? shrug?? so idk exactly to expect but who knows
maybe they'd only consider themselves together by the time everything w/ Gurgula is said and done and they can actually kind of. truly move the fuck on from everything that's gone down.
Sweezy is actually the more outwardly affectionate one. Also a lot more flirtatious. Likes to see Harper get all mushy and flustered. Harper is a bit on a stoic+awkward side and a little hesitant to get so close to her bc she’s still getting used to being close to people without them. Yknow. (COMIC SPOILERS KIND OF FOR THOSE WHO HAVENT READ IT YET SORGY) Dying getting their memory wiped turning out to be evil etc etc etc
Sweezy too to an extent. I think even though she is very like “hiii babe hugs and kisses love youuu” she is also a bit scared what the future holds and doesn’t want to let her guard down entirely just yet. She’s not very vulnerable and it does take a while for the two to have their more serious chats on what they are how they feel anything super deep etc etc
Though of course I say this relative to their personalities. Harper is pretty sweet and sweezy is still sweezy. Sweezy does still tease her and during tougher patches she can be, well, tough. Meanwhile Harper is usually looking on the bright side and whatnot.
I don’t think they argue much but there’s playful bickering and I’m sure sometimes the tension from bounty hunting boils over a lil ..
When they do fight they take some time to themselves then talk it out and usually get a little treat. There has been one (1) tearful apology. At least
I also do feel like they'd be the sort to be more lowkey about things anyway. sometimes Harper wishes she had an easier time showing her appreciation and love but in general there's not a lot of pressure to act a certain way or whatever
Sweezy fell first for sure. harper probably fell harder but i feel like she'd not pin it for what it is at first,, "wow im so glad sweezy is such a good friend :) idk why my heart is racing rn"
Harper was from a relatively well off family, cozily middle class. Sweezy was from a working class family. there have been some "no harper not everyone can go to a ski resort every winter vacation" moments but mainly harper wishes she still had it to spoil her girl. She likes giving gifts when she can for sure.
though for real she would give sweezy like a thousand cool rocks. she will find a way to give something nice.
Harper does like cuddling but sometimes the gems are a bit pointy. it takes them both a while to get comfy. But it can be their lil ritual
The two certainly have each other's back but neither is overprotective. They're both very capable and one need not try to shield them from the world or anything like that.
I need... antics. Past midnight shenanigans. Getting into trouble havin fun making memories. Please. Please.
sleepovers :3 yes technically atm that's just sleeping on the same shelf or whatever but :3 we can make it happen we can make it work...
Sweezy has a lot of romantic experiences. Many a shitty ex. Played into some of her worries but Harper is a breath of fresh air honestly.
Meanwhile Harper has very little experience and has probably only dipped her nonexistent toes (tip of handle? Barrel? Muzzle?) into the waters of dating with either 1-2 past partners or dates that have never gotten serious. She is very excited but also very nervous and wishes that the people she would have gone to for advice were all still around. And/or of sound mind and body. Yknow. Yknow who I’m talking about :) two or three people in mind here… :) :) :))) but cest la vie
Sweezy is bi and proud bay beeee!! Harper is sapphic and otherwise unlabeled,, bicurious mayhaps,, and a lil shy on the matter... girl pretty... what else is there to say...
Neither really wants to do anything too formal for dates they like doing fun stuff. The bounty hunter has to chaperone/drive/third wheel often NOT LIKE GATLIANS CANT MOVE AROUND IT'S JUST TRICKY 8 TIMES OUTTA 10 but they like to go places like the park arcade aquarium... stuff like that i think...
maybe they'd want to be married someday but either it'd be a small ceremony or getting officiated and then just throwing a reception party and/or and/or never getting technically married but remaining life partners
harper would be into getting married but it would take a while she would be very intimidated by the prospect. sweezy doesn't know if marriage is right for her in general, successful relationship or not.
#swarper#sweezy x harper#asks#high on life#harper#sweezy#headcanon#headcanons#i wish i had more but i probably will have a couple of other things to say once the comic is complete and whatnot

Final one. Hopefully.
//Let's do this.
Makoto is Sir Bedivere, one of last Knights of the Round Table who survived to the end and is the one who King Arthur gave Excalibur to to throw back to the Lake so it can be returned to the Lady of Lake. Of course Makoto gets the good boy character.
//As it should be.
Kyoko is Artoria Pendragon Lancer. Idk why Kyoko is the a lot more busty adult version of genderbent King Arthur, the face of the franchise, but I guess it makes sense for Kyoko to be Makoto's King/Queen.
//I mean, as I've said before a few times, people seriously underestimate just how important the original protag trio (Makoto, Kyoko, and Byakuya) are to this series. Even when they don't show up physically, their presence is everywhere. And yeah, sure, KOMARU is actually the first proper female protagonist, but Kyoko is far more integral to the series than she is, and I think she looks gorgeous here. Also, unless I'm remembering this wrong, Lancer dies a lot in the Fate series? And so does Kyoko in DR, lol.
Junko is Kiara Sessyoin. I FUCKING HATE KIARA. Kiara is defined by two things: 1. Her desire to reach Buddhist Enlightenment via actual Universal Menstruation/Orgasm/Inserting the universe into her vagina for some fucked up Vagina Vore bullshit and 2. Her desperate wish for a sequel to The Little Mermaid. No not the movie. The actual book. Kiara can NOT stop being a constantly dirty minded absolute bitch whore NUN of all things about everything we do and she keeps getting in our way. Sigh... Yeah it fits Junko due to how much detestable they are...Junko does have an alternative as Suzuka Gongen. This is solely due to them just being actual Gyaru girls. I'm not getting into the backstory of Suzuka.
//This is just a guess, but I think that MIIIIIGHT be why she's represented through the literal worst person to ever be born? Also, I was aware of all this before, but it's no secret that Junko doesn't just want to cause despair because it makes her feel excited. She has admitted several times that it makes her straight up AROUSED! So yeah, this makes far too much sense if that's the case.
Mukuro is Hassan of Serenity. You can say Mukuro may have a touch of death but this is stretching it. I'm not sure Mukuro has anything to do with someone with literally poisonous skin, hair, body fluids, breath, and etc. Although I guess they are both precious girls who want to be loved. Also, i doubt Mukuro would dress that scantily.
//Taking it into a metaphorical perspective, Mukuro might not have ever been poisonous, but the ideas that Junko drilled into her sure made her feel like she was.
Byakuya is Gilgamesh Caster. Formerly super arrogant? Check. Overly worked to death for being responsible for being the leader of his people? Check. Still an arrogant douche with LOTS of resources at his disposal? Check. I can see this.
//I actually do know a bit about Gilgamesh, and yeah, while I wouldn't say Byakuya is THAT bad of a person, it does check out.
Toko is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide. I don't even need to explain.
//No you don't.
Mondo is Sakata Kintoki Rider. Flaming Motorcycles, baby! I'm not getting into the lore. I don't think that's relevant.
//It doesn't matter to me. I saw the word "rider" and I got it.
Chihiro is Chevalier D'Eon. Of course. D'Eon is known for being a spy whose gender we could never ever figure out. You can see how this kinda relates to Chihiro.
//I LOVE the way that outfit looks on Chihiro too though? And the idea of him being an androgynous spy is fucking awesome actually.
Taka is Gilles De Rais. Now this is just insulting. Taka is no soldier general to Jeanne D'Arc who, after Jeanne was burned at the stake, turned to kidnapping, raping, mutilating, and torturing little boys for years to prove that God exists cuz god would punish him for his sins. Taka is not a person who dabbles in Lovecraftian tentacle magic.
//Yeah, that basically goes against everything Taka is, besides the loyalty part. I don't vibe with that.
Yasuhiro is Tawara Touta. Not sure how much Hagakure loves rice. And I mean, REALLY loves rice and wants to give to everyone.
//I think it's more got to do with the fact he looks like a hobo.
Sakura is Heracles/Hercules. FUCK YEAH. I approve. We made Hercules her Persona in my headcanon for a reason.
//Strongest human is the strongest human; it's really quite simple.
Aoi is Miyamoto Musashi. Genderbent Musashi is a weird case. Aoi clearly is no master of the sword nor is she a battle nutcase. Hey at least both of them have very sexy bikinis and lots of fanservice.
//Yeah, she's no master of the sword, but she IS pretty competitive. And yes, lot's of fanservice. I can definitely see her wearing that outfiot.
Leon is Jason. Idk why. Jason is kinda racist douchebag in Fgo. I mean, we eventually like him cuz he's a gag character who gets screwed over all the time and he does help us a lot when times call for professionalism but nah. Not seeing it.
//An asshole, douchebag gag character who gets screwed over so much, and you DON'T see the connection to Leon!?
Sayaka is Mata Hari. Sayaka may be able to dance and allure people with her sexiness and nice sexy figure, but I'm not sure Sayaka is one for being a professional stripper. Then again, maybe? Mata Hari is actually a super sweet and very nice person.
//I mean, Survivor Sayaka would be exclusively for Makoto; we had this conversation like, a few days ago, lol. And yeah, Sayaka is a very sweet and nice person.
Celes is Semiramis. Of course Celes is the dommy queen character who poisoned her husband. Semiramis is weird story.
//Fair. Also, that is a FUCKING look for her.
And I think Hifumi has just been relegated to being one of Semiramis Celes's laser coffin things.
//I had a feeling right from the get go that Hifumi's would be related to Celeste, but honestly, it would have made more sense, based on what you just described, for Celeste to be Jeanne D'Arc, and Hifumi to be Gilles De Rais. I don't, under any form or circumstance, think Hifumi is worthy of being likened to a serial killer/rapist either, god no, but if it was this way, it would make a lot more sense given these two's in-game relationship with each other.

monthly game tag time!
this is going to be a veryyyyy long post, so buckle in
may
1. Hollow Knight
[played on ps4.]
thoughts: i know i literally just replayed hollow knight back in like, what, last august? but i had a strong urge to play it again and after the shitshow that was my life in march/april, i decided what the hell. i'm probably going to be doing a yearly replay anyway, though i won't hold myself to any kind of strict schedule in regards to that. i'll just play it when i feel like it and keep track of when and how it goes with these posts.
but anyway, on to my thoughts (yes, i still have thoughts on this game lmao): the game is definitely getting easier with every replay, which makes me very very happy. don't get me wrong, there are definitely still plenty of challenging bits (looking at you, trial of the conqueror. bane of my fucking existence -_-), but apparently i've managed to memorize a good chunk of the attack patterns for most of the boss fights. hornet and the mantis lords are the most obvious example of this, as i literally beat both on my first try. which was a tiny bit disappointing, just because those fights are so fun, but also extremely satisfying. literally had me feeling like a pro gamer LMAO
2. Princess Peach: Showtime! (Demo)
[played on nintendo switch.]
thoughts: i've been so excited for this game ever since i saw the first trailer, and the demo certainly didn't disappoint! the two levels you get to play, as swordfighter peach and patisserie peach, were very fun, and just everything from the level designs to the gameplay to, of course, the costumes are so cute. i definitely want to play the full game! ....unfortuanately i've heard the game is actually pretty short overall? supposedly it's around 6-8 hours of playtime, which honestly just seems absolutely ridiculous considering it costs fucking $60 for a game i could (theoretically) knock out in a day but hey, that's nintendo for you 🙃 so, yeah. not entirely sure when or even if i'll get to play the full game. which is a damn shame.
3. Agatha Christie - Murder on the Orient Express (Demo)
[played on nintendo switch.]
thoughts: seems like a fun game! although i will say, it was quite jarring to realize it takes place in the modern day. hercule poirot does not look like a character who should know what a smartphone is, i'm sorry 😂 but yeah, i'm definitely interested in playing more, although i'll probably wait for it to go on sale. i liked it but i don't need to play it right now or anything lol
4. NOX
[played on mobile.]
thoughts: a quick little better-than-average mobile puzzle game. tbh i enjoyed the first half more than the second half. by the end i was just like meh, but i guess i still recommend it if you're looking for a decent puzzle game on mobile
5. Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion
[played on mobile.]
thoughts: i've been wanting to play this for a while, and it did not disappoint! such a fun, silly little game. pretty much my only complaint is that i wish it was longer, but apparently now there's a sequel? so i guess i can always try that! :)
6. Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King (Demo)
[played on nintendo switch.]
thoughts: seemed fun but also the demo was extremely short so idk. i liked the obvious zelda inspiration, but it mainly just reminded me of chrono trigger. honestly i think i'd be more interested in replaying that than in playing this, but who knows. maybe someday!
7. OneShot
[played on pc.]
thoughts: I ABSOLUTELY ADORED THIS GAME!!!!!!!!! everything about it is so beautiful, from the story to the graphics to the soundtrack (which, if you know me at all, i'm a sucker for a good video game ost and this one DOES NOT DISAPPOINT 🥰). i don't want to say too much, because i really think everybody should play this one for themselves, but i will say it is EXTREMELY meta. which is not a spoiler, as you find this out very early on, but again, the less you know the better. so i'll just say this: make sure the name on your computer matches your real name! i believe the game *does* give you the option to input whatever name you want (i'm not 100% sure, but i think so), but i feel like the story will hit harder if you use your real name. plus, if you've changed your name recently but forgot to update the name on your account (like i had), this is at least a good reminder to do so :)
8. Ib
[played on pc.]
thoughts: while i played the remake, i can definitely see why this is a rpg maker horror classic! like honestly, idk what else there is to say about it that other people haven't said already? it's not super long and though it's not pants-shittingly terrifying or anything, it's got a very strong, creepy atmosphere to it. now that i think about it, it actually reminds me a lot of alice in wonderland.... which is such a huge plus to me, you guys don't even know :3 i especially adored the character design, particularly ib who reminds me of one of my oc's <3
9. A Short Hike
[played on nintendo switch.]
thoughts: i want to live in this game <3 seriously, if you're looking for a nice chill game to play this one should be right up your alley! it's not long but i promise it is still so, so worth it. beautiful pixel graphics, lovely soundtrack, and a surprisingly poignant story....yeah i loved this one a lot. my one and only complaint is that the beachstick ball minigame can rot in hell LMAO
june
1. Moonlighter
[played on nintendo switch.]
thoughts: idk about the pc version, but PLEASEEEEEE DO NOT BUY THIS GAME ON THE SWITCH. IT SUCKS ASS. for as enjoyable as the actual gameplay is (which honestly, was not even that fun after the first couple hours), the game is buggy as hell. especially when rolling. do NOT roll near walls, or you risk getting stuck inside them. which is especially annoying inside the dungeons, getting stuck inside a wall on some random floor long before you ever meant to have to leave.... pretty much ruined my whole experience. i could barely even bring myself to finish the game, but i forced myself to do it, because i had been meaning to finish this game for forever, and i just wanted to be DONE with it, and so i did, and i was so SO happy....aaaand then i discovered there was a whole new post-game storyline to play through in new game+. -_- at first i felt obligated to finish that before i could say i completed the game, but after playing a few hours, i just said fuck it. honestly the new game+ stuff wasn't even that bad, but i was just so ready to be done with it by that point. fuck this game. absolutely adorable graphics and a nice soundtrack, but buggy-as-hell gameplay and an anticlimactic story. completed ruined it for me. boo. boooooooo. such a disappointment.
2. Another Code: Recollection (Demo)
[played on nintendo switch.]
thoughts: seems like a very fun game, and i really do want to play the full version! …just not for full price. especially because, after playing the demo, i already had some gripes:
the controls are kind of wonky and by that i mean this just feels like a game that would be better played on pc (yet it's a Switch exclusive).
the (english) voice acting is… definitely not my favorite, to say the least. (that scene of ashley crying as a kid was so fucking annoying, and it went on for wayyyy too long.) ashley does not sound like a 14 year old. which ties into my next point:
okay so i actually FULLY admit this one is mostly on me, but i legit thought ashley was college-age until she explicitly mentioned being 14. like, obviously i understood in retrospect that the story literally said she was 14 long before that (i believe the letter from her father mentioned her 14th birthday?), but because i was pretty tired when i played and also because the character model does not look like a 14 year old girl aside from her being shorter than the adult characters, the voice does not sound like that of a 14 year old, AND she was wearing a university sweatshirt, i thought she was, like, 19-21 and that she for some reason had only recently received her dad's letter? IDK DUDE I'M A LITTLE BIT SLOW 😭
honestly this just kind of made me laugh but i did think it was a bit silly how ashley made a big deal of "yeah sorry D, but i can't help you get your memories back. i've got my own problems. sooooo... yeah, bye." then literally she walks down some stairs, he helps her open a door, and she's immediately like "okay i'll help you and also we're besties, obviously 🤗" like, i'm not saying the game has bad writing (i didn't get to play enough to truly make an accurate judgement) but that felt like the kind of contrived thing i would have written when i was in middle school ngl. but maybe that's the point, since ashley's so young? idk
anyway, i know i've kinda been ragging on it, but like i said, i do still want to play it. the story seems interesting, and i really want to see where it goes! just definitely not for the price of $60 lol
3. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (Demo)
[played on nintendo switch.]
thoughts: it was fun! like a mix between immortals fenyx rising, hades, and trine. all of which are right up my alley! but also i was not very good at the combat, which definitely detracted from the experience a bit. i imagine if i was playing the full game i could eventually get used to the combat, but there just wasn't enough time for me to do that in the demo. but i did like it, and i'll definitely consider picking it up if it ever goes on sale for a more reasonable price.
4. Chants of Sennaar (Demo)
[played on nintendo switch.]
thoughts: i enjoyed it so much i actually bought the game. stay tuned for my thoughts on the full game!
5. Growing Up
[played on pc.]
thoughts: so, full disclosure, i only played through one of the routes in this game (richard). when usually i would play through all the route's (or at least more than one) before counting it as finished, honestly i just cannot be assed this time. which isn't to say it's a bad game! it was a very fun game (at first), with interesting stat-building mechanics. i especially enjoy that my previous character + whoever i ended up with become the parents in a new playthrough. however, despite the fact that i had already started having new events when i started a second playthrough, i don't think the gameplay is interesting enough for me to want to replay it multiple times just to see the new events/meet new characters, at least not any time soon. at the very least i wish there was some kind of carry-over bonus. for example, since my character ended up with richard, maybe my current player character could have a boost in empathy? or intelligence, since my previous character's intelligence was so high. something like that.
also the parents sucked, they had nothing to do with anything unless they were giving me their stupid parent expectations goals, which got really annoying by high school age because the goals often took up desperately needed schedule slots. also especially bitter because literally right after i had completed a goal of tutoring 10 times in a row, they gave me a goal of helping out some neighbors (aka buying groceries ten times in a row) and when i had my character be like "will i get paid?" stupid fucking idiot dad was like "omfg why are you so selfish??? 😤" BITCH I JUST TOOK UP A BUNCH OF MY VALUABLE SCHEDULE SLOTS TO DO TUTORING FOR ONE OF YOUR STUPID FUCKASS GOALS????? KYS YOU ANNOYING BITCH OMFG
6. Harmony: The Fall of Reverie (Demo)
[played on nintendo switch.]
thoughts: of the few (spoiler-free) reviews i've seen, reactions seem kind of mixed overall, but personally i really enjoyed what i got to play! the art is beautiful and the game mechanic of the augural is definitely unique and interesting. unless the story really starts to branch out though, i don't see there being much replayability; which makes me just a tad reluctant to buy it, even on sale, especially seeing as it's apparently only ~10 hours long. speaking of, i am VERY surprised the demo is as long as it is. hard to put it into hours, since i'm a slow reader, but you get to play 2 out of 5 chapters, i believe?? it certainly got me hooked and invested in the story, but that also just seems crazy, letting you play that much in the demo. so i guess, taking all of this into account, i think i'll just wait for a really good sale. like, i do want to eventually see where the story goes, but not for more than $10 lol
7. AI: The Somnium Files (Demo)
[played on nintendo switch.]
thoughts: seems like a fun game, but also kind of weird. one of the characters blew up a balloon to comical size and the main character's response was something like "i wish your boobs were that big" whshgsjsjlskdj ???????? still planning to play it eventually lmfao but i'm gonna play it on pc. definitely seems like a game that's better on pc
8. Chants of Sennaar
[played on nintendo switch.]
thoughts: ah, what a fun game, and such a beautiful artstyle too (it actually reminded me a lot of sable!); however, while i did really like the game overall, i will say that— as with most people who have played both games— i can't help but compare this against heaven's vault and, personally, even with all the issues i had with it, heaven's vault is definitely the better game in my eyes. while i wouldn't say the translation mechanics in this game are at all easy, it was easier than in heaven's vault. in this game, all you really had to do was match the right glyphs to the right pictures. which, obviously was often a challenge, don't get me wrong, but it was at least somewhat easier than i originally thought it would be: i thought i had to get my guess at the translation right too, but that part of it mainly seems to be so you can remember what the glyph means (or approximately what it means) before you actually verify it. so that was a little disappointing, although it certainly helped make things easier in the long run. which turned out to be a good thing that was actually a bad thing, because i'm not gonna lie, i played the majority of the game over the course of a single day. this was not a good idea (obviously), because it resulted in sleep-deprivation and me hurting my wrists/palms from holding the Switch for so long. clearly this was my own fault, but it did still detract from the experience, unfortunately. the inability to fully concentrate really kept me from fully immersing myself in the latter half of the game, which is likely why the ending fell a tiny bit flat for me. also, i have to mention. there was one puzzle i had to look up a guide for how to solve it, and even now i still don't get it and idk if i ever will. so, i'm kind of bitter about that 😭 but yeah, i don't want to keep ragging on the game, because overall it was great! definitely worth the hype imo. and if the core game mechanics of translating made-up languages sounds fun to you, i definitely recommend checking this one out! just maybe remember to take breaks and get some sleep so that you don't ruin your own experience like i did mine :/
9. The Roottrees are Dead
[played on pc.]
thoughts: if you like mysteries, difficult puzzles, or even just family drama, this is the game for you! it's actually been compared to the likes of return of the obra dinn and the case of the golden idol, and that definitely holds up imo. not in terms of graphics, but just in that you are given a mystery that you need to solve (or an extensive family tree that you need to fill out, in this case) and the game does not hold your hand. i will say, although it's been a while since i played either return of the obra dinn or the case of the golden idol, i think this game was definitely easier than those two (shorter, too). but it was still very rewarding! like i said, it was easier, not easy. honestly i really hope this game gains some traction, because we definitely need more difficult mystery puzzle games like it!!!!
10. Unpacking
[played on pc.]
thoughts: don't really have much to say except that it was a nice chill game 👍
11. Tunic
[played on nintendo switch.]
thoughts: i actually started this soon after chants of sennaar, but i finished it last (the roottrees are dead and unpacking serving as breathers). i really REALLY liked this game at first. it was different than i thought it was going to be, but i was still enjoying the challenge even when i wasn't, you know? aaaaand then i kind of hated it, because certain parts of the puzzle you have to solve in order to achieve the true end were extremely frustrating and overly convoluted imo. but overall, after seeing the end credits you get after the true end, i think i left off on a good note. at the very least i would definitely recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a difficult challenge not just in terms of combat, but in solving deep intricate puzzles as well <3
started but not finished yet:
Sea of Stars (Demo) - started in june. won't be finishing, but only because i decided to buy the full game!
Neo: The World Ends With You (Demo) - started in june. won't be finishing, because the gameplay just seemed a bit monotonous.
Paleo Pines (Demo) - started in june. won't be finishing, because the artstyle was not very appealing to me.
Tangle Tower (Demo) - started in june. won't be finishing, but only because i think i'd prefer to play it on pc.
Who's Lila - started in june. probably won't be finishing, because it just didn't seem like the game for me. which sucks, because i had been looking forward to playing it for a while :(

Do you have any headcannons about BM Nightscream?
do i ever… this is kind of just canon but he definitely likes classic rock. i would love nothing more than to stare at the ceiling and listen to pink floyd with him. i also think he’s kind of a pop culture and subculture nerd in general… like who just quotes planet of the apes as their first line in the show 🤨
i wish he and cheetor got more screen time together, it seems like they only ever talk strategy which idk maybe that really is the extent of their relationship but it could be anything. at the same time i really like that he seems to get along way better with rattrap and blackarachnia, it only makes sense since his personality is more like theirs than cheetor’s (within bm it’s easy to forget he’s actually pretty cheerful and i imagine him going right back to that once the apocalypse is dealt with)
between noble, rav (a toy-only sentient (?) drone) and all the maximals being older than him i think he’s the sort of person who can befriend any type of person
i don’t think he’d be obsessed with them or anything but i think he’d be absurdly, absurdly good at rhythm games. oh and since he can sing the frequency to sever peoples’ sparks from their body (so overpowered and also so interesting to think about irt to megatron whose whole thing is that he took everyone’s sparks out… really any comparison of him and megatron/noble is fascinating) he definitely has perfect pitch
i think being critical comes extremely naturally to him, he’s the sort of person where you can name anything and he can instantly think of 10 things he doesn’t like about it. he’s the roast-on-demand friend
i think he would go to any of the maximals for life advice but blackarachnia would usually be his first choice. it’s probably because i’ve watched terminator 2 and aliens too many times but their relationship is everything to me, and i believe the intent was to have him see her as a mother figure but i like that it turned out more ambiguous and could be aunt or sister-like or something with no human equivalent
i wish he and botanica EVER interacted. if he didn’t already have an interest in science i think being surrounded by only scientists for months would definitely give him one, she can teach him much in the ways of botany. i have also wondered whether his vampirism will be a problem post-canon, like does he need to feed on others’ energy to survive or is that just something he can do? i think probably the latter but in the case that he did, i can see botanica being the one to walk him through that existential crisis
i think his alt mode being a bat suits him perfectly and even though there was no action on his part in adopting it i love how it happened, but if he ever changed it… i think a dragon would be fitting, sort of like a bat but more powerful… a callback to noble…
there’s like never a point where he's actually in charge of something but i bet he’d be a great leader (he is based on john connor after all). i really wish transtech (the planned but cancelled beast machines sequel) happened because i really want to see what he would be like as a young adult, i would want him to take over cheetor’s role as second-in-command since cheetor would take optimus’ place as leader…

Guys I am very obsessed with xmen rn, I have watched 7 movies in the xmen universe in 3 days and I am currently watching my 8th 😭
Anyways I am going to give my opinions on them (I am doing this in the order i watched them)
Deadpool- amazing, 10/10, I would want to watch this again for the first time. It was so funny and yes Ik it is not a xmen movie but I did say xmen universe and there are xmens in the movie soooo- anyways everyone should watch it I love it sm the comedy is on point for the whole movie, the action os amazing and the plot was just *chefs kiss*
Deadpool 2- AMAZONG SEQUAL!!! Such a good movie, 10/10 I love that shit. This sequel slayed and everyone in it was a slay, Wade is my Canadian icon <- is Canadian xemself. I very much loved the plot, characters and just like everything. I also need to say it now, Wade does not look that bad in these movies 😭 like bro looks half decent why does everyone think he is so fugly??
Days of future past- absolute slay of a movie, Ngl everything in this movie bangs. It is either a 9-10/10 for me. I really enjoyed the characters in the plot, I for sure preferred the past bits over the future bits but that is neither here nor there. Peter slayed, Logan slayed, Hank slayed, Charles slayed, Erik slayed, everyone slayed. Idk if I can put into words how much I loved this movie, genuinely so so good. I always rewatch this one and it never fails to make me happy always a good and fun time and all the characters are just so skrunkly.
Apocalypse- dude. Dude listen- when it comes to the plot and apoc himself I uh I hate it a lot. Maybe hate is a strong word but it was one I said a lot watching it 😭 the plot is weird and iffy and not my thing. The characters on the other hand, the characters lowkey slayed. Liek some did (peter, Kurt, Scott, angel for some bits, raven, hank, etc) and other were uh not my thing (apocalypse. Mainly apocalypse but also Jean. (Side note, I think that is his name, the main Bady is who I am referring too by saying apocalypse)) idk my rating for the movie just if you ever watch it don’t watch it for the plot watch it for the characters pls you will drive yourself insane if you don’t. 5-6/10 characters really save it.
First class- Ngl I enjoyed this one. Charles did piss me off for like the whole movie (I began to rage at that man Ngl 😭😭) but everyone slayed!! They were all super silly Billy’s, though idk how I feel about how they portrayed Darwin in the movies knowing that his physical appearance did play a big part in his backstory in the comics (this is as kn he looks like an alien in the comics and he looks normal in the movies). OTHER THAN THAT! It was pretty fun! Raven was super cool in it and so was Erik. I really like how they went a bit in-depth on his backstory. 8-9/10
X-men- ABSOLUTE SLAY OF A MOVIE !! Dude dude dudes I love rogue and Logan’s relationship sm it is so cute, fr father-daughter moments right there. I really enjoyed Logan (wolverine) in this, he was very fun and everyone slayed. I love Bobby too, Ngl I can see how in these movies they don’t have the overplot plot sorted out bc there are some gaps between what we know about what happened in future past and apoc and what the characters show (I.e not knowing who Logan is even if they should.) but that is okay! I genuinely really enjoyed this movie and I craveeeee more rogue and Logan moments. Also everyone slayed here and Charles didn’t annoy me as much! 9/10
X-men origins: Wolverine: … so uh that is a movie that exists. I give it like 0 maybe 2 if I am being generous out of 10 (0-2/10) bc this movies is bad. Like really bad. Don’t watch it, pls don’t. I do not subject yourself to that 😭 it is Not cannon to any of the other movies and how do I know that without looking it up? BC THE WHOLE THJNG GIVES DEADPOOL AND WOLVERINE AND SCOTT A VERY DIFFERENT BACKSTORY!! It is so fucking bad, like I got half way through and considered quitting but I didn’t and it just got worse 😭 don’t even get me started on gambit, BRO DOES NOT LOOK LIKE GAMBIT WDYMMMM THERE ISNT EVEN HIS ICONIC EYES NEVERMIND THE OUTFIT IS FUCKEDD. Also deadpool in this.. holy fuck. I was so excited at the beginning to see Wade but at the end I wanted to die 😭 /nsrs. Why does he look like that??? Did not enjoy at all, Logan did have one funny line that I can remember so I will give him that but that was all like it. Did not enjoy do not make yourself ever watch that unless it is for torture reason. I didn’t even finish it, I still got 9 minutes left but I gave up
X2- this is the one I am currently watching and it SLAPS! More rogue and Logan moments, more Bobby, WE GET NIGHTCRAWLER IN UR!!! KURT MY CHILD!! Charles is okay, Jean, Scott and storm all slay in their own ways no my favs by any means though, lack of hank which is sad lol. Only thing I don’t like so far, and dudes I like most things in this, is just the over all story plot holes. In apocalypse Kurt goes to the school and knows about it and apocalypse is set before x2, whilst in this movie he hadn’t even heard of the school and didn’t know any of the peeps he had met before and they didn’t know him. Minor issue, not that big of a deal but annoyed me a bit lol. Can’t give my rating yet bc I am not done but I will reblog this post when I am and give you my final thoughts! Or I’ll just edit this and reblog for other movies idk
Anyways hope y’all enjoyed my little rambles, more will be out in the future bc I am insane over these silly little ppl hehehehe

hi! This is the anon(Again, still new! Forgive me!) who asked for the bullied sister! This was really special to me, because it reminded me of me and my little brother who gets bullied for being autistic.
Anyways, if it’s not to much to ask, would you do more little autistic sibling? Thank you!!
pt2 of mm turtles with an autistic sibling! semi sequel to this one
as per usual I tried my best to not make this offensive at all because my (theoretical) autism is not very severe (or maybe it is idk I can't wrap my head around the fact that autism is a spectrum and whenever I see people who have more severe forms of autism I feel bad saying that I likely have it)
anyways enough about me, here you go! hope you enjoy ❤️
Leo:
-Leo really likes to be around you a lot to make sure you’re safe, because he knows that it can be very easy for things to go wrong when you’re on your own. He tries not to be a helicopter parent, but he’s just worried about your safety. He’s aware that you can be very sensitive to your environment. One time, he witnessed you have a breakdown from overstimulation, and he almost had one himself. He was so concerned about you, and he didn’t like seeing you in that state.
-He’s learned all of your triggers and everything that makes you uncomfortable, so he can avoid them all. He knows how to help you calm down if you’re about to have a breakdown or panic attack. He’s basically designated himself as your main caretaker.
Raph:
-After Raph finally started getting the therapy he swears he didn’t need, one of the things his therapist suggested to help with his anger issues was fidget toys. He didn’t really have any though, but he knew you did, so he asked if you could share some with him. At first, you told him no. You didn’t want to part with your fidget toy, what if he broke it or lost it, or worse? He understood your concern, and instead asked if you could help him get one, which was a lot easier for you to do.
-Now Raph always has one on him, and a few extra for you two to share as well. Of course, you still have your own that you keep to yourself, but you've warmed up to the idea of sharing some with Raph. There have been quite a few times where you’ve forgotten a fidget toy at home and Raph has had one ready for you, which has saved you a lot of trouble.
Mikey:
-Mikey is very sensitive towards your lack of speech. He knows you don’t like to talk a lot, but it makes no difference to him. It’s still a little confusing to him though, because to him, talking is one of the simplest ways of expressing your feelings. But to help communicate with you, he learned sign language so you could talk to him without having to actually speak. He doesn’t use it himself (he couldn’t get the hang of it with only three fingers) but he still learned so he could know what you’re trying to say with sign language.
-Sometimes you stay after school with Mikey to watch him do improv or perform in a play. You love watching the shows he does, and you think he performs amazingly, but every so often you get this feeling that you could never show and express emotions like he can. You ask him how he does it, and he says it comes naturally to him. He tells you that it’s okay to not know how to express yourself, and that emotions are complicated and often difficult to understand.
Donnie:
-As quiet as you might be, you could talk for hours on end about your interests. And guess what? Donnie will listen. Your time together is mainly spent sharing about your interests, shared or not. Donnie understands that your favorite shows or books or whatever are really important and special to you, and all you want is to share your love for them with someone else.
-Sometimes at school, he’ll introduce you to one of his friends that likes something you do as well. He does most of the talking in the beginning, but after a while you start to hold the conversation on your own. He often sits and listens to you talk, occasionally chiming in, but he’s mainly focused on being proud of you for talking with a new person.

I do think Z should grow at her own pace. Hence why I said that she’s playing the slow burn game. PERSONALLY I don’t think she’s going to get that growth with ANOTHER sequel or ANOTHER season of euphoria. I understand why she does it. And I love all of those projects. But again. I think if she did more films like challengers back to back it would greatly help her. Just my opinion 🤷🏽♀️
Maybe it's just me, but I personally think doing Euphoria has helped her to grow a LOT as an actress. 🤷🏾♀️
No matter what I think about Sam, I can't deny that this role was a God-send for Zendaya.
I don't mind her being in major film franchises either though. They give her visibility, the chance the work with awesome directors and awesome fellow actors, AND she gets a hefty paycheck for (sometimes) very minimal work lol. Seems like a win-win to me! 🤣
Can't she have BOTH? 🥴🤷🏾♀️ Why does it have to be either or? 😕
Believe me, after "Challengers" she will be in another lead role on the big screen. TRUST me on this.
The "slow burn" is not a bad thing honestly. She's only 26 and already has TWO EMMY WINS under her belt. The youngest woman of color to receive that honor. Like, HELLO!! ROFL 🤣
Idk why some fans think it has to be some race or competition in the acting world. Yes, women are unfortunately considered "over the hill" once they get past age 30 in sexist and ageist Hollywood 🙄, so I can def understand why some feel the need for Z to "strike while the iron is hot" NOW instead of later.
But, y'all forget that Zendaya is a woc, so she will probably be still looking young compared to her white women counterparts come age 30 cuz black don't Crack lol 👀 🤭, and second, it's better to do the "long game" instead of peaking early in your career, and then crashing and burning soon after. Jmho 🤷🏾♀️
I think Zendaya is VERY smart about her career and how she wishes to move. You can also tell that she's VERY selective about her role choices. Almost everything she touches turns to gold rofl 🤣
So, she's def not just doing anything just to get her name out there. She doesn't need to. 🤷🏾♀️ She has endorsements to fall back on if she's not getting offered the roles she wants to do.
Her star is only going to rise further after this year.... mark my words.
I personally think she's doing fine lol? 😅
Idk why fans worry so much about Tom and Zendaya's careers, when they are both arguably two of the most FAMOUS actors in their age range right now?
They're already in the stratosphere lol... where ELSE do y'all want them to go? 😅
Geez....

15 questions 15 mutuals
ty @dont-leafmealone and @elfinfair for the tags
were you named after anyone? for my deadname one of my middle names was the same middle name as my mum, my new first name and first middle name are indirectly and directly taken from the names of characters i like
when was the last time you cried? i think it was, i finally watched into the spiderverse for the first time like two months ago seeing all the hype abt the sequel, and when the big sad emotional climax moment happened, the one during the big fight, i was crying, not silent leaking eyes maybe sniffling a bit, like full on open mouthed sobbing. shit just hit me rly hard, that movie's so good
do you have kids? nah
do you use sarcasm a lot? i think so yeah. unfortunately i am also extremely monotone so i frequently have to be like 'no i was kidding' bc out lout my normal voice and sarcasm voice must sound a lot closer together than in my head
what's the first thing you notice about people? idk i guess i notice if their clothes style and whether face looks like someone i know/know of
what's your eye color? greenish-grey last time i checked
scary movies or happy endings? both. depends what mood im in tbh. if im watching a movie i dont usually have a huuuge preference of genre, i tend to prefer stories w somewhat developed characters who have arcs so u'd think that'd make me averse to scary films where the characters r sometimes neglected/used as a blank slate to experience The Horror through the eyes of but i ALSO rly like well built up tension and just,,, interesting creepy vibes. i usually try to stay open minded w watchin stuff. however there are times when i feel down and just wanna watch some dudes fuck around and have everything come up alright in the end
any special talents? hmm. man idk. im pretty good at making minecraft skins does that count lol.
where were you born? england and i shall say no more
what are your hobbies? writing, reading fics (do not look how many bookmarks i have on ao3 why would you need to), drawing's fun. used to watch twitch a bunch but the main streamer id watch aint comin back so w for my sleep schedule ig
have any pets? yes a dog he is an old man he looks sort of like a skeletal dark souls creature (not through maltreatment he eats like a king his breed r just skinny asses lol)
what sports do you play/have you played? netball, softball, cricket, bit of tag rugby, loads of rounders, street hockey was my fav out fo em i was pretty ok at defending (all of these r from when i was still in p.e. classes in high school idk if that counts but its what i got)
how tall are you? last i checked 165cm (like 5,5 in the other measures i think)
favorite subject in school? hmm. probably either art or english. though i only rly got an appreciation for english when i did this additional gifted kid project thingy and rather than just literally tell us an interpretation of a text to memorise for an exam the teachers gave us a bunch of analytical lenses to choose from to analyse a text and i was like "yo wait interpreting meanings from the text is kinda fun when you havent got bitches in your ear telling you 'ok so this is exactly what the author meant and you just need to memorise that and write it in the test'"
dream job? i honestly have no idea. i wouldve said author once but i enjoy doing it for fun, i dont think id be able to make smth publishable and if i somehow did i feel like itd ruin it. if i had some kind of like repetetive but simple task and i just had to do it over and over, maybe listen to music or a podcast or smth in one ear i feel like so long as i earnt a decent amount id be cool with it. i am a simple little guy my dreams amount to 'eh id like to do some cool stuff :]'
i dont think i have 15 mutuals so ill just tag a bunch @jctko @thinkingjasico @captainchibi @zodismegalame @aroacekitty @glummar @ablueeyedarcher @erisenyo

What do you think will fix HOTD will Ryan make changes because of the season 2's reception?
(I will try to answer in the least purist way possible, if that even means anything for F&B) Apologies in advance i'm a bit of a yapper.....
Doesn't that largely depend on what Ryan thinks are actual issues?
I know I've been a massive HOTD hater during season 2. I want the show to do well and I want it to succeed but alas I picked up on red flags in season 1, tried to ignore them, but had to accept that they're the bread and butter of the show lol. Now, seeing those same issues reflected in the larger backlash makes me feel vindicated, as what bothered me is clearly part of the bigger picture. Highly doubt it will change because as I said...bread and butter of the show.
What do you think needs fixing anyway? What does "fixing" HOTD mean to you? It definitely means something different to Ryan and Co. than it does to tiktok fans, twitter stans, redditors, and tumblr ASOIAF scholars, casual viewers etc.
The pacing? The lack of interactions? battles? More dragons? Maelor the Missing? The dialogue? "2 women trying to find themselves in war"? Where is my Literally Who character (for me that would be Marston Waters <3) Team Bias? Making GRRM happy? Suddenly condensing the season from 10 to 8 episode? The show getting condensed from 5 to 4 seasons? "historical accuracy"? Queer Baiting? Avoiding another Dany Mad Queen disappointment? Fitting in the prophecy (GRRM's orders). Budget??? and a hundred other things I haven't mentioned.
Idk how much the writing strike affected the show, GRRM himself said that the script for each episode had like...5 drafts/revisions but after GRRM's "toxic butterflies" post errr... ok..
Despite being a massive hater during S2, I don't think the answer is appeasing fans (unless that fan is me ofc lol <3). If you have a lot of time to kill you should try jumping between the echo chambers of each team it's really funny. If you want to inflect mega damage on yourself, go to twitter.
For what it's worth, there are some changes that were good that fans don't bring up while other changes fans didn't like but idk...I really liked :) there aren't many for me and I struggle to reconcile both the show as is and my desire to see an adaptation that reflects the "soul" of GRRM's writing. GOT did that, HOTD did not.
From a show-only perspective, it's clear the creators have a vision— a weak one in my opinion—that diverges from what fans expected from ASOIAF/F&B adaptation. Trying to realign the show with F&B at this point would cause its foundations to crumble making for an overall weaker show. For better or worse, the show has been building its own themes since the beginning—just not the ones fans hoped for. I don't envy Condal at all and actually feel very bad for him especially after S2, he is (was?) a huge GRRM fanboy that's how he landed the position anyway. I still think he's a dumbass based on interviews though.
Anyway the only criticisms he'll respond to are the ones from executives.
Their biggest problem imo is hitting the beats of the story (F&B and their own super cool original idea), introducing plot points and characters arcs, and wrapping everything up in 16 episodes or so while kind of leaving it open for a sequel (which I imagine is mandatory because executives).
#hotd#fandom blahs#I know i've been quite harsh on the man but I sometimes feel bad for Ryan#Would not want to be in his position#house of the dragon#hotd meta

Today I watched...
The Strangers (2008)
And I was a bit disappointed
knock knock
SPOILERS BELOW
Why do they keep opening the door to strangers in the middle of the night? 😭
Haven't you seen a horror movie in your life?
"But it was late and maybe they thought the woman needed help" Okay, then why do you answer when you're alone (I'm talking about her) after hearing the same woman asking the same question for the second time?
If that happens, you run! (or pretend you're not there). But you do not answer the door.
"Will you just stay on the phone with me?" Proceeds to hang up the phone.
JAMES IS NOT HOME GIRL (She hears a noise and, knowing James is not home, still asks "James??" WHY ARE YOU DOING THAT?)
I love when non-creepy music plays in the background when smth is happening.
She's panicking, and what does the guy do? He leaves her alone. 😐
Don't scream at people wearing weird masks in the middle of the night, do you want them to kill you or something? (They did btw)
THE SHINING REFERENCE!!! (when the guy with a mask breaks the door with an axe and the girl starts screaming).
We're not even going to talk about the friend that got killed accidentally because that was stupid.
WHY IS SHE CONSTANTLY GETTING OUTSIDE THE HOUSE WITHOUT A WEAPON OR ANYTHING?!?!
If you're escaping from 3 killers, you may be a little careful and try not to hurt yourself, just saying.
I wrote all of that while watching the movie sorry hahshhs
I mean, it was fine, but it's just like another generic horror movie, idk.
The characters try their best, they make stupid choices and they end up being killed.
Meh, it's fine if you're bored but nothing special. There's a moment where everything feels repetitive.
The ending was my favorite part, though.
It's weird because normally the characters die/get killed at night
And they left the woman alive... 🤔
I heard that there's a sequel, so I'll probably watch it (they don't tell us anything about the killers, I'm curious).
Final rating: 5.7/10 (I would not rewatch it, but it isn't bad)
In the end, this is just my opinion, if you've liked this movie that's fine; so bye n see you soon!

Backlog: Talking About Movies - TSS (2021)
Originally I posted this somewhere else May 2023, but I'm trying to consolidate right now. Furthermore, when I originally posted to Tumblr, it's system didn't realize I'm talking about a MOVIE and not about anything personal. Because I don't need 4 private messages about mental health, I'm just posting the title screen and calling it "TSS". Moving on.
So I watched TSS 2021. That is the sequel to the 2016 movie, for clarity. I wasn’t motivated to watch it because of GotG 3’s release. I forgot that the Guardians movie was close to coming out when watching this one.
Preamble:
After Batman V. Superman, didn’t care much to see anything DC Comics movies outside of some online summaries. But after Endgame, there were a handful of movies from that brand coming out that seemed decent so I would eventually check them out. Such as TSS 2021.
“You can’t use summaries as a substitute for watching-” I don’t care.
Some think the 2016 movie’s whatever, but the only person I directly knew going to bat for that movie, was a major asshole. To me, the sequel stands or falls on it’s own merits.
When I heard James Gunn was making this, I was interested. Ultimately though, I guess it worked out for him since he now runs DC Comics media from this point forward. I didn’t see that coming. Don't expect much in terms of how I feel he's doing in that role. I don't feel the need to judge until about 2-3 movies into his reboot.
But where do I start with TSS? Overall, entertaining movie. Would rewatch.
Now…back in May, I said this:
"You want a point in DC Comics’ favor when it comes to movies? Well when it comes to their CGI, from what I’ve seen, it’s been consistently great. TSS is no exception. Everything blends together with the real world stuff very well. They did a good job there."
And while I stand by TSS having great CGI…The Flash has now come out. I have seen clips of that. That doesn't erase what good the DCEU has done in the past concerning CGI. But damn, being worried about future CGI from them is not unwarranted.
Obviously comparing TSS to Marvel stuff would make sense. TSS feels like it has a different tone. Maybe that’s just because of one company being more hands off, but idk how WB really operates. Kinda felt fresh to just have more varying and modern music playing in one of these superhero things.
What set it apart from the MCU was the R rating which…yeah it took advantage of that. TSS 2021 is violent, detailed, uncensored. Offset by it’s comedy. Frankly, it’s a funny movie. A lot of the comedy is the villains oblivious to common courtesies, or just uncaring in general. It works.
Think I saw some complaints about comic book accuracy. A complaint with all these superhero type movies. Look to be frank, most of the comics people are referencing for accuracy aren’t exactly Nobel Prize winning literature here. Even when they are notably well written, movies are only 2-3 hours while a comic story can span multiple issues.
That's what I wrote in May. Since then, all of twitter is nothing BUT complaining that these products not being comic accurate means that they're inherently bastardized, worthless, a crime against humanity, and will lead to their downfall. This line of thinking is just begging for someone to make a 110% comic accurate superhero movie that ultimately flops because people deem it too fuckin goofy, nonsensical, or just not that interesting as the hype suggested. I'm not saying all of comic history is bad or the comics didn't do some things better. And I'm not ignoring the MCU's storytelling flaws. But damn, The Spider-Verse movies aren't 1 to 1 accurate with the Spider-Verse comics and no one is complaining about that because they are well written. The Guardians trilogy took SEVERAL liberties, but is called peak despite them.
Comic accurate does not automatically equal well writen and never will. Hell, one of the most popular comic youtubers, Comics Explained, is a person who goes on for hours about entire comic arcs. And he outright criticized "X-Men: Days of Future Past". Saying something like "Yeah people like Days of Future Past , but that's just because they copy/pasted the story from the comics" and was hoping for something more original in future movies. And I don't agree with all of his takes, but if someone who dedicates this much time to comics is saying these things, I feel it's more valid than people on twitter who I can't confirm if they read the comics they're praising.
Back to what I said in May, TSS is good without being exactly like the comic. I don’t understand how Starro being mustache-twirly evil would improve the film short of nerds checking off a list of comic accuracy. And him being Death Battle fuckin "He can blink the universe out of existence" powerful is outright nonsensical. Starro was good for what it was.
Interpretation needs to happen sometimes. That said, actors.
This is the first time I’ve seen Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. It’s not entirely like TV versions, but she made it her own and it works. She was in the role for 6 years, it’s probably expected she knows what she’s doing.
Idris Elba, he’s always been a cool actor. Not entirely something I've publicly talked much about on the internet short of him playing Knuckles and I think Heimdall, but he has good performances. Him being the main character was a good choice. Replacing Will Smith? Yeah, but unlike Smith, Elba is more willing to add more grit to his villain character and it's greatly appreciated.
Cena Peacemaker works here. You really do forget he’s a wrestler and for once in about 20 years, he plays a decent heel. Apparently this is a controversial statement, but I guess I've just not seen Cena all that much in the past decade to really focus on his past during the movie…..
…which is what I said last year.
In 2024, after seeing his lacking comments on Vince McMahon, I don't feel much need to praise him or focus on him in the future. Someone put it aptly.
How his Peacemaker solo series went, I have no idea and now I don't care. If he comes back in the reboot, I can at least see why but I still don't care. Harley and Waller tho? They should be priority to return. Especially those two. They're just THAT great.
The rest of the team are convincing enough as villains.
Although…Ratcatcher 2.
Don’t get me wrong. She is a good actor. It makes sense that she’s in jail for her crimes. But like, remove the rat communicator and isn’t she just a person? Can someone else use the communicator?
I don’t think that’s explained. My attempts to google didn’t answer that. If there’s some TSS interview explaining that the Ratcatcher family can only use the communicator, cool. Otherwise, I question how she’s on the Squad to begin with unless they're (likely) short on villains.
To anyone who may take this out of context, Ratcatcher 2 is a good character, good for stealth, & the payoff in the end is great. Just seems like she wasn’t exactly a nemesis of Green Arrow or something. I feel in another context, the communicator, more than the person, would've been Waller's priority.
Like I said, Amanda Waller is solid. Davis really read that character description and said “Easy”. Her character should show up more in future movies beyond TSS.
Rest of the cast is good. Even if they’re still fucked up for betting on lives, I liked Waller’s people turning on her in order to save a city.
Think only thing left to say is that the story for what it is, comes together nicely. These people are not the Avengers/Justice League, they’re forced to work together and are convicted criminals. The interactions they have feel unique as a result, and not everything works out.
Even some of the dead characters in this movie do have development. They do advance/achieve as characters even if it does cost them their lives. Plus it's a cool movie when it has people both cheering that a monster is defeated, and then has you feeling bad for said monster.
I said this movie should stand on it's own merits and it does. TSS 2021 is a great standalone movie. Usually I would sit here and talk about broader lore, but it's unnecessary. Aside from maybe the Captain Boomerang thing, you can just go into this movie and enjoy.
