Steddie Angst Prompt: Nepo Steve + Undiscovered Musician Eddie
Eddie is trying to make it big in the music scene but people donât get âdiscoveredâ nowadays, even with a manager, itâs all about who you know. And Eddie gets the chance to mingle after subbing for small band who were one member short. He scores an invitation to tag along to a party. A high profile party.
And Eddieâs manager gives him a tip: the son of C. Harrington, owner of huge record label GNH, will be there and he so happens to bat for the both teams.
Nothing is said directly but itâs heavily implied that if Eddie can manage to shake this guyâs hand and flirt his way into a few dates⌠that can be his in.
So, okay, stringing along some rich entitled asshole born with a silver spoon in his mouth? Eddieâs game. Doesnât hurt that the guy is easy on the eyes, even if a little too on the preppy side for his tastes.
And he does it. He gets his few dates, but no word has reached Harrington senior about his music so it looks like this might turn into the long game.
Except that Steve is sweet.
Eddie didnât count on Steve being so sweet.
Eddie didnât count on Steve showing active emotional interest. To spill his heart out to Eddie and reach with such lonely hands practically begging to be loved.
Eddie didnât count on falling in love either.
Maybe Eddie can have his cake and eat it too, right?
But then, well,
Steve finds out about his original intentions.
#of course eventually we get a happy ending#but in between we have the overwhelming guilt#the inner battle of morals#people being not what they seem#the betrayal#Steve heartbroken and pitches his music to his dad to get Eddie signed#as a fuck you this is what you wanted right?#eddie struggling to find a way to win him back#and regain his trust#does he sign the contract? does he burn it cuz he chooses Steve#does he write a whole album for Steve that debuts a year later?#does Steve forgive him?#thatâs up to yall#steddie#bee speaks#steddie ficlet#steddie prompt#musician eddie munson#nepo baby steve Harrington

In a surprising turn of events, it was Will that got Steve and Eddie together. Heâd noticed their blushing gazes, stilted flirting, and lingering touches. He knew they mustâve been dating in secret from their friends, perhaps because they werenât comfortable enough to tell anyone. So, he pulled them aside at one of Steveâs pool days and gave them some advice.
âHey guys, I um. Look, I know youâre dating each other.â They looked at each other in panic but Will continued. âItâs fine, I didnât tell anyone. But you can tell us when youâre comfortable. The whole Party will be supportive and itâs really inspiring to see the love you two have for each other. So uh, thanks. Iâm happy for you guys.â
Will ignored their shocked pallor and pulled them each into a quick hug. He gave them one last smile and darted back outside to the pool party feeling good that he was able to congratulate his friends for something so important.Â
Unknowingly to him, he left Steve and Eddie inside to deal with impromptu coming-outs, small crises, and plans for first dates. Because before that conversation, neither Steve nor Eddie realized the other was interested.Â
So Will got them together and he was proud when he found out about it⌠until they did the same thing to him and Mike. Then his joy about the situation became horror (although the method did work once again).
#Will legitimately thought they were dating he didn't mean to cause them to panic#he feels a lot less bad after they embarrass him in front of Mike#Although it does score him a date so he can't be too mad#Jonathan just finds the entire situation hilarious and randomly bursts into laughter whenever he thinks about it for months after the fact#When Hopper finds out that Steve and Eddie helped get Will and Mike together he gives them the silent treatment for weeks#he never forgives them and he mentions his grudge frequently#stranger things#steddie#headcanon#steve harrington#eddie munson#byler#will byers#mike wheeler

The Spray Bottle Method
Johnny, sitting in the corner: You really just need to leave me alone, Ry. I'm never gonna be forgiven-
Ryan, spraying him with water: Nope!
Johnny, wiping off his face: What the fuck was that?
Ryan: Oh, your uncles told me whenever their cat starts to be a dumbass, they spray him with a water bottle. So I've decided to try that method, only this time when you're being an idiot who doesn't think he should be forgiven for something stupid.
Johnny: But I shouldn't be forgiven! After everything I've done, to my family and others, how I ruined their lives, why should I be seen as anything else but a monster? Because that's what I am-
Ryan, spraying him with water: You didnât force them to rob banks pretty boy.
Johnny, protesting: But-
Ryan, holding the bottle threateningly: If you say one more stupid thing, Iâm dumping the whole spray bottle on your head Taylor, donât try me.

i typed these tags on somebodyâs post, due to it and then a ficlet someone had added on, but i decided it would be rude to reblog with my tags. BUT i still wanna share my stance on this Totally Important Topic so thank u, copy / paste
#i'm ngl #if you're playing in a campaign and your dm s/o is not the dm you're playing with - and your s/o has an ongoing campaign that they are not #only willing to add you to but wants to add you to but 1. you refuse 2. you wont say why - that's pretty shitty #especially if your dm s/o is someone who has been playing as long as eddie and is as passionate about it #i mean i guess at the very least he should've been honest. that part alone is its own kind of shit #but he should be in eddie's campaign #or both #you can be in more than one campaign at a time believe it or not #josh used to do that #it's not uncommon if you have more than one friend that's a dm #idk man #this kind of plot in st fics just bothers the shit out of me #the only real funny thing here is the ending but otherwise im just like 'mmm. gross.'
#this is about erica being steve's dm#and ynow what??#only semi-related side bitch:#fics where steve does play in eddie's campaign and somehow ruins it - either one night or the whole thing - and then is smug about it#like those arent a lot of work to put together. like his boyfriend didnt put his whole heart soul and dick into it only for him to guess#something or spoil something or just be more obnoxious than any of the other teens combined. and the ones where eddie gets#genuinely upset about (any of the above) and the author doesnt allow him to be. like he immediately forgives steve or steve uses#sex as a way to stop eddie from being mad about it. like a thing i see in fics and absolutely hate is not letting eddie have feelings#especially negative ones when it comes to other people. unless its like.. annoyance. or if he IS allowed to feel something if he tries#to express it within a paragraph or two they have him all chill now or understanding or admitting that the other people was right in however#they upset him. now its not like he's the only character this happens to be jesus fucking christ#i may or may not have been holding onto a lot of negative feelings about fanfics for the last... while#doesnt help that im in an Easily Annoyed time myself#and ynow what else?? i've seen a lot of bitchass reactors lately - especially for that show that's also a book. book fans for that bitch are#some of the most obnoxious people on the goddamn planet i want to hammer their kneecaps and bust through the drywall in their houses#maison speaks

Pick Me
Bucky x readerÂ
The new recruit has her eyes set of a certain set of super soldiers. Especially your super soldier.Â
warnings: jealously, Angsty bangsty, but also so fluffy fluffy and smutty, clueless Bucky, he really means no harm, go easy on him.
A/n - editing to add: when I first started writing this I loved the concept and wrote a large chunk but then I left it for months cause I struggled to actually finish writing it. This wasnât even the original ending I had planned but I just wanted to finish it so yes Bucky shouldâve done way more, pretend there was a time jump where he does a better job with earning forgiveness đĽ˛
-
âEveryone, meet Nicole, our newest recruit for the field agent training programâ Tony walked into the common room where you were sprawled out on the couch with Nat, Sam and Wanda while a young woman walking confidently behind him. âSheâs going to be staying with us for a couple of months to train before she goes onto the the fieldâ Tony turned back to her, bringing her to his side.Â
âIâm sure you know everyone but let me introduce you to them anyway. This is the very Natasha, Wanda, Sam and y/nâÂ
âHey Nicoleâ You gave her a warm smile, happy to welcome her while everyone else also got up to greet her. âNice to meet youâÂ
âOh, ew, just call me Nic! I donât really go by Nicoleâ She scrunched her face at the sound of her full name, her eyes scanning the room, clearly looking for someone. âDonât suppose the very Captain America and Sergeant Barnes are here?âÂ
The hopeful uptick in her voice made it clear thatâs who sheâd been searching for. Right on cue, the two super soldiers walked into the living room on their way to the kitchen after a morning run.Â
âSpeak of the devils and I do mean devilsâ Tony snorted beckoning the men to meet the new recruit. âRogers, Barnes, this is Nicole, preferably NicâÂ
âHello handsomeâ She gave Bucky a bashful smile before turning to Steve and batting her lashes, âand handsomeâÂ
âNice to meet youâ Steve reddened at the way she gripped onto his hand before slinking over to the brunette, purposely sticking out her left hand so heâd shake with his metal one. âAnd you SergeantâÂ
Bucky gave her a smile and quick shake, excusing himself to get some water while Steve quickly trailed behind him. Tony went on to take her to her room which was on the same floor as yours, all the other spare rooms occupied by a few others who had already started training. Nicole returned to the living room moments later with sweats and a hoodie, her hair tied up, plopping down onto the sofa beside Sam.Â
âHey, were doing a girls night, movies, junk food, wine, you wanna join us?â Nat offered with a smile hoping to make the new recruit feel more welcome even though a part of her was wary.Â
âItâs a lot of fun, I was just about to get some snacks for tonight, let me know what you likeâ You add with a smile, only to be met with a scoff.
âMmm, hard pass on that, wine isnât really my thing, thanks thoughâ She gave the group a tight lipped smile before turning back to the two super soldiers who had also joined at some point, scrolling through phones they finally knew how to use.Â
âWhat are you boys up to tonightâ She threw them a smile while laying back on the couch and kicking her feet up, letting her hoodie ride up in the process.Â
âBucky and I were actually just going get in a work out, nothing much tonightâ He said with a smile, not noticing the way Nicoleâs eyes lit up.Â
âOh wow I actually havenât been by the gym yet but I guess itâll be where I spend most of my time for the programâÂ
âYou could join us if youâd like, we can show you aroundâ Bucky offered, also missing the smirk that crossed her face, only seeing her bounce right up with an enthusiastic nod.Â
âReally? That would be great, Iâd really appreciate it!âÂ
âOf course, anytime. Weâre just about to head down soonâ Bucky stretched as he got up, along with Steve, waiting for her to change before heading down. She got up and went off to her room while you picked at the skin on your fingers. You felt a pang of something at the pit of your stomach at Buckyâs offer but you knew he was just trying to make the girl feel like she was part of the team. He knew more about feeling left out than anyone else; of course heâd never want anyone else to feel the same way.Â
Still.
Something was off.
You shook off the inkling of insecurity you felt, not wanting to over think his intentions. You and Bucky were not official yet but everyone knew there was tension and a clear unspoken dynamic between you both. It was just a matter of time. Unless he had his sights on the new girl...
No.
He wouldnât do that.Â
Right?
*****
âSheâs getting really comfortable around those twoâ Nat cocked an eyebrow watching Nicole have a field day sparring with the two men, throwing herself onto Bucky in particular, giggling when heâd help correct her stance or catch her before she slipped. Every since she joined them at the gym, she made a point to only work out when they were both there, finding excuses when anyone else would offer to help her train.Â
âI guess they are really experienced, so it makes sense...â Your voice trailed off, trying to reason why she was practically glued to their side, again ignoring the uneasiness you felt when Bucky picked her up with ease and set her back on her feet.Â
âUh-huh, weâre all experiencedâ Nat rolled her eyes, plastering on a fake smile when the three finished up on the sparring mat, making their way over to the both you. âYou three have a good workout?âÂ
Steve blinked, noting the iciness In Natâs voice though Nicole seemed unbothered.Â
âTheyâre great, canât beat having the two best soldiers train meâ She drawled out, giving them a wink. Bucky couldnât help the blush that spread to his cheeks, not used to being praised and you couldnât help the jealously that started to gnaw at you again.Â
No.
Relax.Â
âAnytime, Nicâ He shrugged while Nat retched internally, deciding to cut through that conversation before it went further.Â
âYou know, if you come by in the afternoons, Agent Hill hosts a great self-defense workshop for women, great way for you to do some networking as wellâ Nat gauged the way Nicoleâs nose scrunched, shaking her head.Â
âWomenâs workshop, soundâs like a drama fest waiting to happen, honestly most of my friends are guys, makes life easier, thanks thoughâ her eyes didnât leave the brunette, placing herself perfectly between both soldiers. âBesides, Iâm pretty good with self-defense already, that's why I got these two helping me with a little extraâÂ
âAnyway! Y/n and I were talking about the event Stark is hosting later night. Youâre both coming, right?â Nat looked at the two men before her, purposely avoiding the Nicole but it didnât seem to matter.Â
âAre you coming as well?â Bucky asked her, her eyes lighting up again, quickly recomposing herself after. âYou could meet a few of the other agents too, get to know some more peopleâÂ
âUh sure, I could come by for a bitâ She shrugged, coming off as indifferent while shaking with excitement on the inside. âThanks, SargeâÂ
You sucked in a breath at the name she kept calling him, always dropping a suggestive tone in her voice. Or maybe you were over thinking it. It was perfectly plausible she was just being nice to the person who was making an effort to make her feel welcomed. Maybe she had bad experiences in other places that made her wary of women, hence why she only stuck to all the guys on the team. You tried to wrack you brain for answers that would make you feel a little better but came up short.Â
But you didnât want to be petty.Â
You were more mature than this.Â
âWe have plenty of dresses if you want to come by and get ready togetherâ You offered again, mustering a smile, making a final attempt to befriend the new recruit but she didnât even look your way, fully focused on the brunette.Â
âUh- not really the dresses and heels type. Iâm more of a sneakers girl to be honestâ She tossed her pony tail over her shoulder, missing the way Natâs eyes nearly rolled out of her head while you nodded, watching her sway her hips as she walked off. âIâll drag myself over if Iâm feeling itâÂ
âOh-okay, then weâll just see you there!â You called after her while Nat dragged you off, uninterested in your constant attempts to be friendly.Â
âCâmon, lets get you ready. Iâm going to make you look so hot, Barnes ends up on his kneesâ The red head smirked while you squeaked, feeling your face heat up. âWeâre putting you in that red dress, the one that makes his pants feel too tight, donât think I didnât catch him adjusting himself the last time you wore itâ
âNat!â You hissed, hoping he didnât hear, the both of you in a fit of giggles as you made your way to your room. âOh my godâ you hid your face while she dug through your closet, pulling out the tiny dress that hugged your body perfectly, the red color making you stand out in the best way possible.Â
âGo shower while I get all the make up out, Iâm tired of miss pick me trying to get a buy one get one free deal with those twoâÂ
You snorted, hopping into the shower, letting the hot water destress your muscles, feeling a little more hopeful with the dress choice you were going with. Nat didnât waste any time; as soon as you were out, your hair was styled, make up done and heels strapped. You knew you looked good when both Sam and Tony did a double take, letting their eyes shamelessly linger on you with low whistles.Â
âYâknow if youâre done playing games with terminator, Iâd be happy to take his placeâ Tony wiggled his eyebrows while you giggled, taking a seat on the plush couch of the lounge where everyone else sat.Â
âWhat are you ladies drinkingâ Steve came over with a tray of drinks from the bar, already well aware of what each person liked to typically order.Â
âIâm good with a beerâ Nicole shrugged, rolling her eyes when you took the pink drink from the tray, âUgh, I donât know how you drink those, theyâre so sweet, do you even taste anything at that point?â
You shrugged, quietly taking a sip of the raspberry lemonade while she gulped her beer, signaling for another after slamming her bottle down.Â
âYou guys took forever to get ready, this is why I canât deal with makeup and dresses nâshitâ she snorted, directing her comment mostly at you, âThatâs a pretty bright color, I thought tonight was supposed to be lowkey?âÂ
âWell I think you ladies look beautifulâ Thor boomed, not catching the snark in Nicole's voice, his smile wide and voice completely sincere. âEspecially you, Lady y/nâÂ
âThank you Thunderâ You smiled, though the giddiness you felt initially had taken a second hit for the night. He beamed, setting down a bottle of Asgardian mead, searching for the two soldiers. Â
âAlright, where are the two that need thisâ He looked around for Steve and Bucky, since they couldnât get drunk off of regular alcohol. Bucky strode in clearly dressed to kill, in all black from head to toe. Steve joined his side, their faces lit up like it was Christmas day seeing the crystal decanter in the Godâs hands. Buckyâs eyes flicked back to you, his breath hitching in his throat, seeing you in his favorite dress.Â
âFuck sweets, you look-Â
âCâmon Sarge, how about a little competitionâ Nicole nudged Bucky, cutting off the trance he had on you, her shoulder pressing into his, biting her lip and eyeing the alcohol, âLetâs see how many shots we can doâÂ
âThis might be a lot to handle dollâ Bucky chuckled while you froze hearing what he called her. Her eyes lit up again, quickly glancing over to you, her eye brow quirking before leaning into him more.Â
Since when did he call anyone else doll.Â
You felt your stomach sink, taking another long sip of your drink instead, but nothing distracted you from the banter that was taking place before you.Â
âUgh, finee, Iâll stick to regular vodka, câmon Buckyyy, lets gooo!â She practically clung off him waiting for him to pour shots, inches away from crawling into his lap as he grabbed the bottles. You couldnât tell if the flush from his cheeks was from the alcohol or the constant giggles Nicole made whenever he spoke but either way, you didnât want to watch any longer.Â
âWhere are you goingâ Nat grabbed your arm as you got up to leave, though you didnât need to say anything for her to understand. Her green eyes glared at the tipsy solders who were now busy with a game of pool, surrounded by the rest of the team, Nicole practically crawling up Buckyâs legs each time it was his turn. âFor fucks sake-
âTheyâre just having fun, donât worry about itâ You stopped Nat before she stormed over, shaking your head. As much as you wanted to red head to have her way with any of the three at this point, you couldn't be bothered. You were not about to fight for Buckyâs attention; if he wanted to give it to you, he would...
Right?Â
You thought things would go back to normal at some point. But it didnât. Nicole made a point of training twice a day, anything to get her hands on the brunette. Anything to feel the cool metal of his hand on her. In fact sheâd taken up most of Buckyâs time outside of just training, always finding ways to tag along with Steve as well, all while avoiding the rest of the team.
*****
âWhat's wrong sweetsâ Bucky could tell something was on your mind while he stroked your back, his body still warm from the way he took you apart at least 3 times before filling you up till you were dripping and soaking his sheets. He had finally gotten an afternoon off, tossing you over his shoulder when he found you in the kitchen, not letting you get a word in as he shut the door behind him. You wanted to argue back that he couldnât just have access to you any time he felt like according to his convenience, but as soon as his soft lips were on you, you melted, turning into a moaning mess seconds later.Â
âI feel like I havenât seen you in agesâ You shrugged, toying with the corner of Buckyâs blanket, starting to feel more like you were just a body to warm his bed than someone he actually wanted to be with. âWe havenât really hung out recentlyâÂ
You had let yourself relax into his hold only for him to curse under his breath a second later after he noticed the time. He shifted you off him, making his way over to the closet to pull over his jeans and Henley before scrambling around for his wallet and keys.Â
âBucky, what are you-
âSorry doll, I forgot I promised to take Nicole to the corner diner, showing her around a little bit cause sheâll be staying for a few extra weeksâ
Fantastic.
âYou spend a lot of time with herâ You didnât want to come off as jealous, keeping your voice even, though you were close to tearing someone's head off. Bucky didnât seem to notice, humming in agreement while sitting at the edge of the bed to pull on his socks. Â
âYeah, sheâs fun!â Bucky said casually, which only made the weight in your stomach feel heavier. âShe almost beat Steve in MarioKart, just when he thought he was unstoppableâ
âHmâ You didnât bother saying anything else while Bucky threw on his jacket, patting down himself to be sure he didnât miss anything. He caught the way your face had fallen, his cool metal fingers slipping under your chin to tilt your face up.Â
âHow about we hang out after? Around 7, weâll watch a movie together, okay? Iâll grab dinner for us. Promise dollâ He kissed your forehead before jogging off, closing the door behind him.
You were ready by 6, too excited to wait till 7, having showered and changed into something comfy, laying out Buckyâs favorite snacks and adding a few more soft pillows to the bed. You knew it was still early so you didnât mind lounging around for a bit, anxiously checking the time as it neared closer and closer to when he was supposed to show up.Â
An hour later, it was 7.Â
Then 7:30.Â
And then 8.
By 9, you had left everything as is, blinking back the hot tears that wanted to spill, retreating back to your own room, not wanting to see him at all, even if he did have a good excuse for not showing up, which was highly unlikely. You shut the door, throwing on an oversized t-shirt and crawling into bed, burying yourself under the covers, no longer bothering to hold back the tears that began to soak your pillow.Â
****
Bucky cocked his head curiously, seeing his bedroom door left ajar, wondering why it was open when he definitely closed it before leaving. As soon as he stepped in, his heart dropped to his stomach seeing the pillows that were propped up against the headboard, his favorite snacks piled on the fluffy blanket, your fuzzy bunny slippers left behind beside his bed.Â
He cursed under his breath when he realized the time, remembering his promise to you, running straight to your room, only to find it closed with the lights turned off. He tried knocking only to be met with silence, carefully turning the handle and letting himself inside.Â
âDoll?â He felt his heart break further seeing the small lump under a mountain of blankets, curled up into a ball âOh, dollâ He strode over, sitting at the edge of your bed, careful not to wake you if you were asleep, his hand gently tucking a strand of hair from your face.Â
âWhatâ Your voice cracked, hoping heâd think its from sleep and not the fact that you had been crying.Â
âIâm so sorry sweets, we lost track of time, we went out to grab food and then Sam suggested we check out that new arcade just down the streetâÂ
We were supposed to do that you thought to yourself, swallowing down the lump in your throat, refusing to let your emotions get the better of you.Â
âAnd then Steve and Sam had to leave half way cause they had a mission early in the morning. Nicole wanted ice cream so we went by Carlaâs before coming back-
âYou took her to Carla's?â You cut Bucky off, your heart breaking further. That particular ice-cream shop always felt like something special you shared with Bucky, the place he took you to when neither of you could sleep. It was the place you shared your first kiss with him, the place where he said he felt something between the two of you. Itâs not like you owned the store but it felt like the final straw, your resolve finally breaking.Â
âYeah, I-
âJust go Buckyâ There wasnât a hint of iciness in your voice; just disappointment and defeat, both far worse than you being angry. Bucky froze, pulling your blanket away from you, only for you to push his hand away, burying yourself further into the sheets.Â
âDoll?â
âDonât call me thatâ It was the indifference in your voice that left him hurt and confused, mouth opening and closing, âPlease leaveâÂ
âSweets, I can make it up to you, I promise-âÂ
âItâs fine Jamesâ You shrugged, pulling the sheets higher up, not willing to speak anymore, knowing youâd burst into tears again if you did. Bucky reluctantly decided to let you sleep, figuring youâd hear him out the next day but no.
How wrong he was.Â
You avoided him in the morning.Â
And the day after that.Â
Nearly a week had gone by and you didnât spare him a second glance, always finding an excuse to evade him whenever he trailed behind you. It didnât help that Nicole attempted to stay glued to his side, not giving him chance to get you alone.Â
*****
âWhatâs with youâ Sam watched Bucky slump down onto the sofa, where everyone else lounged around, his face sullen from a lack of sleep, grumpiness amplified because why were you avoiding him so much?Â
âY/n isnât talking to meâ He shrugged, while Nat glared at him.Â
âI wonder whyâ the red head mumbled, rolling her eyes at his confusion.Â
âWhen was the last time you guys spokeâ Steve inquired, equally concerned about why you were ignoring his best friend. Bucky was the last person to share stories about his love life but at this point he was desperate. He recalled the events of the last time he spoke to you, promising a movie night, going out with Nicole, taking her for ice cream, running late, apologizing to you afterwards, where did he go wrong?Â
âI didnât mean to forget-Â
âBucky!â Nat slapped him upside the head while he yelped, looking at her with puppy eyes.Â
âWhat did I do?â
âBarnes, you absolute doorknob, you took her to all the spots you take y/n to, youâve been spending all your time making little miss Iâm one of the guys feel comfortable, youâve made y/n seem invisible and youâre wondering why sheâs not talking to you?â Bucky blinked while Nat continued, her annoyance only growing when she saw a message from Nicole pop up on Buckyâs phone.Â
âYou treat Nicole like your girlfriend. Imagine some new guy joins us, makes a point of eye fucking y/n the entire time, finding ways to constantly flirt with her and touch her, youâd be fine with it? Imagine he avoids hanging out with the guys but makes all the time in the world to chase after anything with breasts. On top of that, how would you feel if y/n went out of her way to make said guy feel more welcomed when he clearly just wants to get into her pants. Youâd be fine with it?!â
Bucky shook his head, though still not fully understanding because Nicole was just a friend, not someone heâd even be into. Plus, its not like she was into him like that, right?Â
âBut Nicole doesnât want to-â Bucky started, shutting his mouth when Nat nearly hissed, staring at him while he did the mental math, âNicole wants to get into my pants?â Bucky looked at Nat wide eyes, ducking the cushion she was about to whack at his face, all the pieces finally clicking together. He groaned, running a hand over his face, realization hitting him like a ton of bricks. Just as Sam and Steve were about to hum in agreement with Nat, she glared at them, their eyes growing wide.
âAnd youâ Nat turned to glare at Steve, his shoulders slumping when he realized he wasnât in the clear. He squeaked when Nat pulled his ear, giving it a squeeze, âWhat were you thinking. You didnât once think it was weird she only trained with you two? Havenât any of you noticed Nicole doesnât hang out with any of us, Just you?â Nat waved her hand at the men that sat before her, their dumb stuck faces only adding to her annoyance. âIdiotsâÂ
As much as Bucky wanted to hit his head onto a brick wall, he didnât have time to waste, immediately springing up from the couch to look for you. He checked everywhere he could but you were nowhere to be found. He was so desperate, he found himself shuffling outside of Tonyâs lab, hoping FRIDAY would give him your location.Â
âYouâre asking for a lot Barnes, y/n might add my name to the hit list if I tell you where she isâÂ
âPleaseâ Bucky was ready to beg on his knees while the billionaire huffed, watching the former assassin look like a lovesick puppy. He cocked an eyebrow, noting the glassiness of Buckyâs eyes on his desperate face, nodding before calling for FRIDAY to look for you. âAlso, I need another favor...âÂ
****
âY/n, babygirlâ Heâd never felt such relief before, seeing you make your way to your room, coming back from your hiding spot from the roof, the scowl on your face clearly showing you werenât trying to talk to anyone one your way over.Â
âOh, Iâm babygirl now? Has doll now been reserved for Nicoleâ You couldnât hold back the sneer in your voice, walking away faster, ignoring his calls.Â
âBaby, please!â
No.Â
âBaby, wait!â Bucky chased after you, not willing to let another day go by without you knowing exactly how he felt. He managed to get hold of your hand, gently tugging you towards his chest and spinning you till your back was against the wall, his chest nearly pressed to you. âPlease, I-I need to talk to you, tell you how I feelâÂ
âThereâs nothing to talk aboutâ
âYes there isâ His voice was earnest, baby blues searching your downcast eyes, his finger tilting your chin up to look at him, âThereâs so much to talk about, I adore youâÂ
âDo you also adore Nic?â You scoffed, while Buckyâs cheeks warmed with embarrassment, the pink spreading up to his ears.
âThereâs no Nic or Nicole, theres just a y/n, my y/n, only you dollâ You rolled your eyes at his response, trying to move away but Bucky wasnât having any of it, keeping you pressed against him, âIâm sorry darling, I didnât realize what she was doing or get her intentions. I thought she just wanted to get to know the team betterâ
âWowâ you huffed under your breath, wishing you had the space to flick the super soldiers forehead.Â
âI know, Iâm an idiot, and Iâm an even bigger idiot for not making it clear Iâm so utterly and desperately in love with youâ Bucky bit his lip as soon as the words left his mouth, heâd said everything under the sun except those words before. But they were true and heâd kept it inside long enough. âI love you, I love you, fuck, I love youâ
You squeaked in surprise when he scooped you up in his arms, tossing you over his shoulder, walking over to his bedroom, smiling when he felt your small fists hitting his back, your butt wiggling to be put back down.Â
âBarnes, put me down, you canât just say you love me and then carry me away like a complete ogre!â He set you down, kicking the door shut behind him before wrapping his arms around you tightly again, falling more in love with your irritated pouty face.Â
âI love you sweet girl. God, Iâm so in love with youâ
âYouâre an absolute idiotâ
âAn idiot who is in loveâÂ
âYouâre so cheesyâ You willed yourself not to smile, ignoring the butterflies that fluttered at his words and love struck eyes. âyouâre still a dickâ
âI know. Mâsorry angel, I didnât realize what I was doing, I never wanted to hurt you. I shouldâve known something was up when all she wanted to do was train 24/7 but I guess I misunderstood her intentions cause I didnât see her as anything else. Iâve only ever had eyes for you baby, you have my heart. You always willâÂ
âWhere is she right now anyway?â You melted into his chest, closing your eyes at the feeling of his lips pressing a kiss to the top of your head. âIsnât she supposed to be leaving soon?â Bucky didnât respond, his hands starting to wander your body instead, slipping up your shirt, rubbing soft circles on your hips. Without warning, he picked you up again, tossing you on the bed and pouncing on you, peppering your face with kisses.Â
âBucky what are you doingâ You giggled feeling his beard tickle your skin as he started to trail kisses down your neck.Â
âI may have requested Tony to have her stay an extra nightâ Your face twisted in confusion at his words but the devious look on his face made your tummy flutter.Â
âAnd he happily agreed because...â
âBecause...?â
âI want her to hear how good I can make the girl I picked feelâ Bucky smirked as he crawled off you, stripping his clothes off before tearing yours off immeitedly after. âMânot gonna waste another second, gotta let the whole compound know who my best girl isâÂ
****
âOH G-GOD J-JAMES FUUCCCKKKâÂ
âThatâs it pretty princess, thatâs it, cum on my dick baby, my good girl, fuck youâre so good to me, look at that, God youâre soaked babyâ
âJesus Christâ Nicole huffed, no longer able to ignore the moans coming from Buckyâs room while the rest of the team pretended to be none the wiser, your loud love making carrying all the way down the hall. Bucky happily disabled the sound proofing in his room before pushing his cock in as deep as it would go, railing you into the mattress.Â
âBaby you look so pretty when youâre all stretched out like this, câmon you can take more, spread those legs for me baby, open up, câmon, lemme inâÂ
âHNG PleasepleasepleaseJamesâÂ
âSo perfect when you beg, cockâs all yours mama, mâall yours, go on and use me, thatâs it, ride this dick, you own meâÂ
âBucky, gonna-c-cum, gonna-cum!â
âCum for me princess, God I love youâÂ
âYou want a snack?â
âNick?â
âUh-Nicole?â
âHuh?â Nicole whipped her head around to where Steve was innocently holding out the bowl of popcorn, while Sam stood up to grab more snacks before the movie started. She stared at everyone surrounding her acting as if they couldnât hear the way you were screaming your vocal chords raw, the super soldier moaning louder than you, âN-no, Iâm fineâ
Tony cocked an eyebrow at the way her jaw clenched, mindlessly scrolling through her phone while Buckyâs thrusts punctuated with each word.Â
âYâfeel so. Damn. Good. baby, could spent my whole life like this making love to youâÂ
âFuck, I love you JamesâÂ
âUgh- theyâre so loudâ Nicole rolled her eyes again in hopes that someone would feel the same but all she got were blank stares back.Â
âI mean, terminator is practically in love with herâ Tony shrugged while the others nodded in agreement.
âTheyâre cute. Itâs about time they made it official, donât you think?â Nat asked sweetly staring directly at her while Steve tried to chime in as well, his cheeks burning hot pink between the sounds of skin slapping and moaning.Â
âThey sound so happy togetherâ he stuttered out while Sam snorted, choking from laughter.Â
âOh God, oh god, fuck-Jamie-JAMIEâÂ
âYup, real happyâ
âI-I think Iâm actually gonna call it at early night, stay at the recruiting center tonight insteadâ Nicole headed straight to the main doors without looking back, the rest of the team giving each other satisfied smirks.Â
Bucky collapsed beside you, panting, his short locks clinging to his forehead, a thin sheet of sweat covering his body. He truthfully stopped caring about what Nicole could or couldn't hear half way through, meaning every single word he said as he took you apart over and over again. You giggled at his shy smile when he pulled you into his chest, pulling the sheets over you both, kissing your forehead.Â
âI love you pretty girl. I love you so muchâÂ

I love your best friend with no boundaries James, and I was wondering if you could do one where James and reader are having their regularly scheduled mid-day naps, and Sirius and Remus walk into the dorm to find James just humping reader while theyâre asleep? Maybe James and reader wake up to the GASP of horror from Sirius after his not so innocent eyes witness âstraight up porn in their shared dorm where Peter of all people could witnessâ
I love all your works and was wondering if I could be marked as đťanon? Iâm the person who requested the bsf Steve imagine and Iâm 100% gonna request something again because youâre perfect and I just wanna kiss you on the mouthđŤśđťđŤśđť
this post is 18+, minors dni.
Sirius considers himself James's best friend- no, brother, but he's not afraid to whack the man upside the head when he finds James grinding on you in his sleep.
"You-! Nasty-! Fucker-!" He bullies James awake, appreciating the much calmer, kinder way that Remus rouses you, tugging you away from James on the bed and murmuring that your nap is over. You blink your eyes open serenely, and James's shoot wide in pain as Sirius assaults him.
"What the fuck? Agh- Sirius! I know you're mad that I've got the better potions grade, but killing me won't help!"
"This isn't about potions, Potter," Sirius scoffs, "But I am thinking about tossing you in a hot cauldron. You were- eeugh, you were humping her, you animal!"
Your brows are furrowed and your blinks are bleary, but your brain catches up with the help of Remus's hands where they trace soothing circles on your back.
"Oh," You mumble groggily, as James groans with quickly reddening cheeks, "Uh- s'alright, Jamie."
Remus's hand stills on your back, but James and Sirius join in a fused indignant-confused "What?"
"S'just natural I guess," You shrug, "I dunno, I haven't- er, got one. But it was an accident, Jamie, you were asleep. It's alright."
Jamesâs cheeks are still plenty rouged, but he nods sleepily at your forgiveness, relieved that he's not being hit by two people instead of only one.
"Yeah, thanks bird," He flops back down onto the mattress, letting out a sigh heavily infused with relief, "Wouldn't do it on purpose, y'know. Not while you're sleeping, that's- that's pervy."
"Some people like pervy," You hum, settling back into your own position in James's bed, though he's no longer curled around you. Sirius watches as you knock your hand against his own, "Sirius thinks I'm a perv."
"You're both pervs," Sirius grimaces, his lip curled in distaste as Remus stands from James's bedside, "Seriously, he eats off of your spoons, you've seen his dick, he's been grinding all over your ass - if you don't get a marriage license soon you're going to be very unpopular with the traditional crowd."
James turns towards you with a gasp, his eyes shining just the same as his grin does, "We could get married!"
"We should," You laugh, "And we could get a flat, and we could have your mother over for dinner every Tuesday."
"That would work." He nods, fully settled back into the pillows from Sirius's disturbance, "She loves you. And she's free Tuesday nights - her knitting circle ends at three."
"I know that," You scoff, barely biting back an overexaggerated eye roll, "James, I write your mother once a week. I know when her knitting circle is."
"You write my mum?" He rears back, momentarily confused, "She's never told me that!"
"Of course she hasn't," You snicker, "Because if you'd known, you would have stopped me from telling her how many times you get detention every week, and you'd want to share the sweets she sends me in exchange for the intel."

Like You've Seen a Ghost
For the @steddie-spooktober day 6 prompt: Haunted Rated: T | Words: 1348 | CW: brief descriptions of blood and gore, mentions of past head trauma | Tags: pre-relationship, modern AU, ghost hunter Eddie, ghost whisperer Steve, Steve Harrington has head trauma Divider credit: @saradika
âSo⌠are you getting anything yet?â
âNot really.â
âWell, which way should we go?â
âIt doesnât really work like that, man. I donât sniff out ghosts.â
âWell forgive me for not knowing how your whole âI see dead peopleâ shtick works.â
Steve glances over at Eddie in the low light of the long hallway. He looks just as grumpy as he has since it had been suggested that he and Steve pair up to check the third floor of the hotel â supposedly the most haunted part of the building.
âYou donât believe I can see dead people at all,â Steve says, and Eddie rolls his eyes.
âWhat, could you sense that, too?â he snarks.
âNah.â Steve shrugs. âI heard you talking to Gareth and Jeff about it.â
At that, Eddie has the decency to look a little sheepish; he hadnât had the most flattering things to say about Steve in that conversation.
It had been the rest of the teamâGareth, Jeff, and Oliverâwho had pulled for this little team-up as a sort of special episode for their YouTube channel; Eddie had been against it from the start. Heâd insisted that their viewers expected supernatural investigations based on scientific techniques and equipment, not some fake psychic (charlatan, actually, had been the word heâd used) who takes peopleâs money and pretends to see their dead relatives.
(Steve, for the record, does not take anyoneâs money. Whether or not he sees someoneâs dead relatives, he does it for free.)
âUh⌠lookâŚâ Eddie starts, rubbing at the back of his neck.
âItâs fine, man, I get it,â Steve brushes off what likely would have been a very awkward apology. âYou canât do what you do without a healthy dose of skepticism. And itâs not exactly like I can explain it; it just kind of happens. But I promise that when or if I see a ghost, Iâll tell you to get your camera.â
âRight,â Eddie says quietly, turning back to the gadget in his hands (some of it had been explained to Steve, but he wonât pretend he knows just what the hell kind of science goes into ghost hunting).
They fall into a stilted sort of silence, Eddie scanning their surroundings with whatever it is heâs holding and Steve keeping his eyes peeled for signs of ghostly activity. He canât say heâs thrilled to be spending the night with someone who clearly doesnât want to be with him, but itâs really no skin off his nose if Eddie doesnât believe in his abilities; Steve isnât Tinkerbell, he doesnât run on the belief of others.
He hadnât really even meant to becomeâ well, not famous, but maybe internet famous, at least. Heâd just figured that as long as he had the ability to see and speak to the dead, he could use it to put other peopleâs minds at ease. People who worried about their dead loved ones, or people who were being terrorized in their own homes. Sometimes Steve could put spirits to rest. Sometimes all he had to do was tell someone that their dearly departed whoever was nowhere to be found and must be at peace.
It had sort of snowballed after one person heâd helped had told another, whoâd told another, who had the ear of someone with a reasonably popular podcast, who had wanted to talk to Steve, and suddenly Steve had been getting calls for other interviews, for âpsychicâ investigations, and, apparently, for team-ups with some well-known ghost hunters.
âWhat did happen?â Eddie asks, breaking a little sharply into the silence.
âWhat?â Steve looks back over at him.
âYou said it just kind of happens. So have you always been like this, orâŚ?â
âOh. Yeah, no, I got hit really hard in the head,â Steve says.
Eddie stops walking, and now heâs the one staring at Steve. âYou what?â
âGot hit in the head.â Steve knocks at his temple for emphasis. âIt was⌠pretty bad. Apparently, they thought I was dead for a minute there. But I livedây'know, obviouslyâand now I get really bad migraines and I see dead people.â
âHow does that even work? Like â did you cross over, or some shit?â Eddie asks haltingly, like the words are unfamiliar on his tongue.
âCouldnât tell you. Iâve always kind of thought of it like an old TV set,â Steve says. âMy grandparents had one when I was a kid, and it didnât get great reception, but if you smacked it in the side, sometimes it would find a channel. So, I got hit hard enough that I changed channels, I guess. Now I can see things on frequencies other people canât.â
âShit, man,â Eddie says, blinking at Steve. âThatâs actually pretty metal.â
âThanks?â Steve shrugs, starting up their meandering walk down the hallway once more.
âI just mean, like â must make for a good story to tell, right?â Eddie tries.
âOh, yeah. Head trauma, itâs great for dinner conversation,â Steve drawls, and Eddie winces.
âSorry, I didnâtââ
âItâs fine, Iâm screwing with you.â Steve knocks his shoulder into Eddieâs; it isnât that Steve hadnât been fucked up over the fight with a local bigot and bully that had nearly killed him, but that had been a while ago, now. Steveâs processed, made his peace with it â even gotten something kind of useful out of it. Heâs fine. (Like, most days. Most days, heâs fine.)
Eddie rolls his eyes, but thereâs also a little smile tucked into the corners of his mouth. It looks nice there â better than the snide look of disbelief from before. Whether or not Eddie does believe him now, Steve likes that he put a smile on his face.
âHey, weâre coming up on room fourteen,â Eddie says, nodding to a door at the end of the hall.
âAnd thatâs the super haunted one, right?â Steve asks.
âYeah.â Eddie reaches out as they approach, turning the knob. âStory goes that a husband and wife were staying in this room, way back when the hotel first opened in the 20s, and the wife pocketed a knife from dinner, waited until the dead of night, and stabbed her husband to death in his sleep before slitting her own throat.â
The room that the door opens into is far more unassuming than the gruesome tale would have had Steve believe. Itâs decorated in the vintage style maintained throughout the whole hotel, kept clean and guest-ready, but thereâs something â heavy about it. Something Steve canât quite put his finger on. He approaches the bed; he canât imagine itâs the same mattress there from the 1920s, but he does wonder if itâs the same bedframe.
The heavy feeling is getting stronger.
âWhy did she do it?â he asks, glancing around the room; he doesnât see anything, not yet, but thereâs still somethingâ
âNo one knows for sure,â Eddie says, breezing past Steve and plopping right down on the bed, bouncing a little as he sits. âSome people say he had been abusing her and sheâd finally had enough. Some say he was cheating, and she was jealous. Some say she just lost her fuckinâ marbles.â
âWhat, just like that?â Steve asks, still glancing around warily.
âMaybe.â Eddie shrugs. âHey, maybe if the ladyâs ghost is still hanging around, you can ask her.â
Steve turns back to Eddie, and the comeback dies on his tongue.
There, kneeling up on the bed, right behind Eddie, is the wife.
It canât be anyone but her, crimson stains running down the front of an old-fashioned nightgown, blood still oozing from the gaping wound in her neck, the knife clutched in her hand glinting silvery and slick red as she stares down at Eddie in a way that Steve doesnât like one bit.
âEddie,â Steve says, slowly reaching for the other man.
âWhat?â Eddie asks, brows furrowed as he clocks the change in Steveâs demeanor.
Steve grabs him by the arm and yanks him up, maneuvering himself until heâs standing between Eddie and the bed â between Eddie and the ghost.
âYou might want to get your camera.â

Upstaged | Part 2 | Part 1
It all makes sense.
When Eddie comes back from taking photos with the fans, he looks a little sheepish for the first time. Steve has about a million things to ask, mostly he just wants to laugh about the fucking odds, but he remembers the grace Eddie extended to him about the press ordeal.
Instead, he settles back with his lime soda and a simple question, âSo, what kind of music are you into?â
A grateful smile breaks out across Eddieâs face, ecstatic to dive into that with Steve. Their lunch extends into dinner. Steve doesnât have anywhere to be these days and Eddie practically jumps up and down when the meeting he was in the area for gets canceled. They stay there for a couple more hours, just talking.Â
Their music taste overlaps at certain points, Eddie talks about how getting his first guitar from the pawn shop pretty much saved him, Steve recounts a little league story that makes Eddie laugh so hard he chokes on his soda.
Itâs the most monumentally casual time Steveâs ever had with a new friend in public and heâs not ready for it to end. Even after exchanging numbers and promising to meet up again, they still linger together outside.
âSo uh, I remember where I know you from now."
Eddie leans against the side of the building. Itâs getting dark, theyâre tucked away from any eyes so Steve freely scoots closer to Eddie, waiting for him to explain. He does after a moment, seeming nervous and fiddling with his rings.
âI hate to ask, but my Uncle is huge into baseball, especially you and your general all-around-awesome thing. There werenât players like you to look up to when he was young, all that. Iâve seen you on his tv so many times, youâre basically part of the familyâ ah shit, thatâs weird, sorry,â he cringes a little, scrunching his nose in a way that makes Steveâs chest clench with affection, âBut heâs getting old and like I said earlier, heâs my rock, he raised me and I wonât forgive myself if I donât at least ask you to come see him sometime.â
The way he rambles is pretty endearing, looking at Steve with a wide-eyed hopeful expression, as if there was even a chance Steve would say no.
He reaches out, gently takes Eddieâs hand to stop his restless fidgeting, âYou want me to meet your folks already, hm?â
Eddie lets out an amused scoff, looking down at their hands and back at Steve like he canât believe it. âYouâre not as funny as you think you are, Steve.âÂ
Steve knits his brows, âWhyâs that?â
âCâmon man. Yâknow how hard it is to find someone who can handle this lifestyle, let alone all the shit that comes with me,â shaking his head a little, Eddie smiles but thereâs something aching in it, âThen the nicest looking guy Iâve ever seen comes outta nowhere and saves my life, agrees to go to lunch, happens too know as well as me that life in the limelight ainât always pretty and turns out to be one of the best people Iâve ever met.â
His fingers thread through Steveâs, holding tight like heâs not sure itâs real. âEven if I never see you again, Iâm gonna write songs about you. Iâd take you home and keep you right now if I could, but thatâs not happening.â
Thereâs a part of Steve heâs kept shut down for years that comes pumping through his veins then, hot and alive. He realizes that heâs been trying so hard to keep his life as normal as possible that heâs been missing out on actually living it. Now he has this wonderful, crazy, wonderful man spontaneously in front of him and heâs not letting him slip away.Â
Steve moves in, slowly crowding Eddie against the wall. Eddieâs eyes go a little wide with surprise then darken with desire. Steve watches his face shift through so many emotions, his mouth parting with a soft gasp, wanting this just as badly as Steve.
âWanna bet?â Steve asks before he crashes into Eddie again.Â
This time itâs a hot press of lips instead of a full-body collision, but itâs just as breathtaking.
Steve deepens the kiss, thrill prickling all across his skin when Eddie opens up for him right away. Steve licks passed the bright hint of lime on their tongues to get to Eddie. The heady taste of him makes Steveâs world spin, all the desperate noises between them going straight to his head.
âWant you so bad, Eddie, wanna keep you too,â he threads his fingers into all that hair, reveling in the shiver it elicits from Eddie, âGod, just wanna have you.â
Eddie chases his lips, âYou can, Steve, you can have meâ please do.â Â
Steve loves the sound of that, going in for a longer, more indulgent kiss before pulling back.
âYou canât take me home tonight,â he professes hotly against Eddieâs lips, âMy place is closer, youâre coming with me.â

No Upside Down steddie AU where Steve gradually meets the members of Hellfire (-Eddie) in and out of school and they all come to befriending him really fast because âSteve Harrington is actually a good dudeâ
But Eddie fucking hates it.
And this only spurs Hellfire on because they think him getting mad over Steve Harrington is fucking hilarious.
Jeff who takes a foods class in third period and Steve does to and then the teacher pairs them for a baking project and Jeff gets to go to Casa Harrington. And he realizes rather quickly that Steve really likes baking and cooking and actually knows what heâs doing and that heâs not just taking the class for an easy A.
Brian (Iâve named him Brian, yes), meets Steve in Art class. Like Jeff, he thought Steve was taking it for an easy A but when seats are changed and they sit together he realizes that, no, Steveâs actually kind of good at drawing (particularly scenery). They get to talking about one of Steveâs sketches and the rest is history.
Gareth doesnât officially meet Steve until later, but he does see him out with the kids at the arcade. Gareth works at the arcade and thereâs this particular group of kids that just irks himâ turns out theyâre Steveâs gaggle. He watches in begrudging amusement while Steve rounds them up like a pro.
Then Gareth officially meets him after Hellfire one day. Itâs fucking windy and heâs just leaving to school to go home when the papers and sheets he was holding are fucking torn from his hands. Steve grabs the papersâ there after some kind of sports practiceâ and makes sure Gareth has them secured in his bad before leaving with a dorky finger-waggle wave.
And Eddie just downright refuses.
And then the school year ends and Steve graduates. And heâs convinced he doesnât have to see Steve again.
Until, of course, Mike Dustin and Lucas join.
Jeff, Gareth, and Brian are all ecstatic to share their own run-ins of Steve Harrington to the three boys who so clearly idolize him. Gareth happily recalls how Steve âtamedâ them in the arcade every time he came in.
Eddie sits in brooding silence.
And then Lucas joins the basketball team. And sureâ Jeffâs on the volleyball teamâ but basketball jocks are so much worse than volleyball jocks.
Mike and Dustin, however thrown out of orbit they were at first, seem to settle in eventually and learn to plan around it. They think that anything that makes Lucas happy is a good thing (even if it did take a bit of a talk with Will for them to realize).
But Eddie? Eddie canât stand it.
Which is why he refuses to move the date for the final campaign.
But Eddie doesnât even get to introduce Vecna before Steve Harrington himself is all but breaking down the fucking door.
Eddie has this whole argument in his head that quickly dwindles when he sees the pure anger in Steveâs eyes (and also because Steve is really fucking pretty holy shit).
Steve tells Dustin Mike and Erica to pack up and get to the game before he drags them and you know what?
They listen.
Including hard ass Erica Sinclair.
And then idk Steve and Eddie get into a whole fight about.
But Steve makes it very clear that he doesnât appreciate Eddie making Lucas feel like he canât be happy doing DnD and basketball because that poor boy deserves nice things dammit.
And Eddie sleeps on it over the weekend before hunting Lucas down first thing Monday morning to apologize.
Lucas forgive Eddie (against Eddieâs protest because let the man grovel) but makes Eddie also apologize to Steve.
Which Eddie does by showing up to the Harrington Estate.
Eddie apologizes and they get high together and the rest is history.
.
I might actually make this into something, itâs already pretty fleshed out but eh

Ten Minutes
Didnât love this when I first wrote it. Left it in my drafts for a LONG freakinâ time. Found it again and no longer care, so here yall go; have fun! Probably not a part 2 to this one.
Steve takes a breath, then another, as he waits for the line to connect. He grits his teeth, feeling eyes on him. He does his best to ignore them.
âMunson residence, if youâre calling about the murders Iâve been absolved of, try going to hell instead.â
âI need you to pick me up.â
A pause. âStevie?â
Steve takes another breath. Tries to unclench his jaw. âPlease.â
âYeah, of course, Iâll be right there- what-â
âMy parents are in town.â
Another pause. âIâll be there in ten. Try not to kill them.â
Steve laughs humorlessly. âJust hurry.â
âTen minutes,â Eddie says, and hangs up.
Steve sighs, places the phone in its socket, and turns back to face his parents.
His mother is narrowing her eyes at him. âWho was that?â
âA friend,â he says lightly.
âWho, that Hagan boy?â His father scoffs.
âNo. Not Tommy. I havenât spoken to him in years.â
âOh, Steve,â his mother tuts. âAlways so dramatic. Weâve not even been gone a year-â
Steve laughs. It sounds hollow. âTry four years,â he informs her. âAnd three concussions. Did you hear about the mall two years ago? Or the boy who went missing four years ago?â He shakes his head when his mother looks at him blankly. âThatâs what I thought.â
âDonât be ridiculous,â his father snaps. âAnd donât you dare speak to your mother in that tone again, Steven. Youâre still a child and I wonât hesitate to reprimand you as such.â
âIâm twenty,â Steve says evenly. âIâll be twenty-one in five months.â He crosses his arms. âThe last time you saw me, I was a freshman in high school. Iâve graduated. I found jobs. Lost some friends and made some better ones.â
âAnd what of that girl you were dancing around?â His mother asks. âKarenâs daughter?â
âWeâre friends,â he says shortly, then moves through the kitchen, to the stairs. âExcuse me.â
âNo,â his father says. âYouâre not excused. Where do you think youâre going?â
Steve turns, one hand on the bannister, to look at the man who had terrified him the last time heâd seen him. Itâs funny what interdimensional threats will do. âTo pack a bag. Iâm not going to stay here while you are.â
âAnd if I were to say weâre staying for good?â
Steve laughs. âDad, youâve said that before. Multiple times, actually. Those words mean nothing to me anymore.â
âAnd where are you planning on staying?â His mother asks. âHonestly, Steven, I thought we raised you to make better decisions than this.â
âOh, I see. So it was raising me when I woke up at nine years old to discover youâd left and Iâd have to find my own way to school. Then a week later when I had to ride my bike to the store to buy groceries. At eleven, when I looked the school counselor in the eye and said youâd be back soon. I had to go to my own parent-teacher conferences. At fifteen, trying to figure out high school classes. At seventeen when I got my first concussion. At eighteen when I signed my first legally-binding NDA. You hadnât abandoned me. You were raising me.â He sighs, shakes his head. âForgive me if I donât believe you.â
He makes his way up to his room and packs as much as he can. Clothes. Vinyls. The box of cash under the loose floorboard. Then into the bathroom. Toothbrush, deodorant, even his shampoo. Doubles back into his room to grab a bracelet off his nightstand; one El made him.
He looks around, grabs the nail bat, and makes his way downstairs. His mother gasps when she sees him. âWhat on earth is that?â
He looks at the bat. Adjusts his grip, twirls it around. âAn NDA.â
The doorbell rings. Steve grabs his bags and moves towards it. âIf you walk out that door, youâll never walk back in.â
âFine by me,â Steve says. He grabs his keys, tosses the house key at his father, and pockets the rest.
He opens the door and grins at Eddie, whoâs looking at him worriedly. âHey, Eds. Ready to go?â
Eddie blinks. âUm. Sure? Are you okay?â
âSure,â Steve shrugs. âIâm getting kicked out. If you donât want to take me Iâll just go bug Robin. Itâll only be for a little while, though, just until I find a better job and an apartment or something.â
âLike hell Wayneâs gonna miss this chance,â Eddie grins. âYou know youâre his favorite.â
Steve smiles back, tosses his things into the back of Eddieâs van. âI hoped you were gonna say that.â

is it casual now?
Prompt: You and Eddie totally aren't dating, right?
Characters: Eddie Munson x Reader, brief mentions of Steve Harrington x Reader.
Word Count: ~5.5k
Authorâs Note:Â Happy birthday @felteppsters
Playlist: Casual by Chappell Roan
Warnings: Smut & fluff.
If you had a dollar for every time someone asked if you and The Freak were dating, you'd have made four dollars this week alone.
And it's only Tuesday.
You didn't go out of your way to spend time with Eddie Munson, and he never once asked if you wanted to hang out outside of school, but somehow you always managed to find yourself getting fingered in the back of his van in the parking lot during study hall. And he was known to drop a note in your locker on occasion asking you to meet him in that one bathroom that no one ever used for a quickie during lunch.
But that was neither here nor there.
The point was that people were beginning to notice.
It wasn't a bad thing. It's not like dating Eddie would ruin your reputation- despite what some people would say. It was just that when people asked if you and Eddie were dating, you didn't know how to answer because you, yourself, were not exactly sure what that answer was.
So you just said no, and you probably said it a little too defensively.
Does hooking up occasionally count as dating? No. In order to be dating someone you had to at least go out on an actual date, right? The night he took you to his trailer to 'fuck you in a real bed' and ordered pizza delivery didn't count, either, no matter how long you cuddled with him afterwards.
"I heard a rumor," it was Robin. She fell in step with you as you both exited fourth-period Algebra and headed toward the cafeteria. "And I just need a little bit of clarification, so forgive me if what I'm about to ask is-"
"I swear to God, Robin, if you're about to ask me if I'm dating Eddie Munson," you held up your hand and cut her off, stopping short in the middle of the hallway; your boots scuffing the speckled white tile floor, causing a slight traffic jam of bodies.
"What!?" She gasped. Either she was a really great actress or she genuinely hadn't heard. "There's a rumor going around that you're dating Eddie Munson?"
"No?" you deflected and picked up the pace. "What did you hear?"
"That you're dating Eddie Munson." With that, your face fell and she pulled her lips between her teeth to keep herself from laughing. "Well, is it true? Because Maria Fuentes heard from Charlie Dawson that Tina saw you guys in the parking lot last Friday and she did not hold back on the details."
"First of all," you said stopping at your locker. "I feel violated."
"Well, you were, you know-" Robin held up her fingers and made a lewd gesture causing you to cringe.
"Second of all-" You began again, only to be cut off by a folded piece of paper falling from your locker to the floor as you opened the flimsy, metal door. You could feel the heat rising to your cheeks as Robin quickly bent down and snatched the note from under you before you had the chance.
"You were saying?" She asked, a playful smirk pulling at her lips as she dodged every one of your attempts to take the note back from her. "Meet me. You know where. Signed, E.M." She read aloud. "Oh, look, there's even a little heart. That is so cute!"
"Second of all," you repeated after you had snatched the crumpled paper from her hands. "We are not dating."
Eddie's lips were on yours the moment the bathroom door closed behind you; before you were even able to flip the lock. You hadn't seen him since last Friday, and you could easily tell that he had gotten needy over the weekend. You wanted to enjoy the moment, but all that you could think about was this rumor.
He took a few steps forwards, pushing you back to the double sink until you were sitting on the counter; pushing himself between your legs, his hands falling to your sides, fingertips digging into your flesh. His lips were everywhere, biting and sucking hungrily as he squeezed every inch of your body he could get his hands on.
You placed your palm firmly on his chest and lightly pushed him away from you. He took a step back and you took in his appearance; tight denim jeans, a flannel wrapped around his hips, t-shirt just slightly messy enough to reveal a scruffy happy trail below his navel. His jeans were especially tight in the crotch, and his eyes were dark with desperation as he returned your gaze. He ducked his head to meet your lips once again, but you turned your head and ensured his lips fell to your cheek instead.
"Something's definitely up with you," he said softly as he placed another kiss on your temple.
He looked so good and made you feel so good, you just wanted to pull him back down to you and fuck him in this bathroom for the umpteenth time, but you couldn't. He stepped back and pulled a pack of cigarettes out of his back pocket; looking so cool as he placed one between his lips and took a long drag, sending smoke billowing around the tiny room.
"You haven't heard?" You asked. He shrugged. "Someone saw us Friday in your van and now the entire school thinks we're dating."
"Oh," he let our a sarcastic chuckle. "And that's a problem for you, I guess? Can't be seen with the freak, right?"
"No," you rolled your eyes at the fact that he would even suggest that. "I just didn't know if- are we?"
He shrugs again, shoving his hands into his pockets. "I thought it was just casual."
"Casual?" You ask, and he nods. "Okay, well, I have to go. My next class is all the way on the other side of the building and I don't want to be late."
He can tell by your tone that you're upset.
"What do you want me to say?" He asks, making one last attempt to make you stay as you pick up your book bag from the floor.
"Nothing."
"You're pissed," he actually reached for you this time, but you shrugged him off.
"No," you replied. "I'm just-" you paused for a moment looking for the right words. "I'm casual." He winced. "Have a good day, Eddie."
You wanted to slam the door in his face, but it wasn't that type of door, so you opted for storming off loudly. As you rounded the corner you knocked shoulders with some girl from the Cheerleading squad who yelled at you to watch where you were going, but you didn't care to respond. Your legs were carrying you as quickly as they could without breaking into a full sprint down the halls of Hawkins High.
It wasn't a lie when you stated that your next class was on the other side of the school. You were sweating by the time you reached your desk. Robin had gotten there first, slumped back in her assigned seat with a smirk on her face as you sat down, trying to catch your breath.
"Long commute?" She asked, her voice laced with sarcasm.
"Shut the hell up, Buckley." You snapped.
"Uh oh," she held her hands up in defense. "Must be some trouble in paradise."
"I told you earlier, Eddie and I are not dating."
"Roger that."
The last bell couldn't come soon enough. All that you wanted to do was get home and get into bed- and preferably cry into a bowl of ice cream. You'd have never imagined yourself crying over the likes of Eddie Munson, but the thought of losing whatever it was that you had with him was upsetting.
He was your friend, after all. You had a lot in common with him. He could make you laugh and there was no shortage of conversation when you were around him. He was always getting shit from his friends, but you loved the fact that he never shut the hell up. And when there wasn't a conversation to be had, there was always music; whether it was his long list of cassette tapes or him strumming away on his guitar, there was never a dull moment.
And here you were ruining it over a label.
Robin held the door open for you as you both stepped out into the warm summer weather. Waves of students began lining up in the parking lot for their respective busses, but you typically walked home when the weather was nice.
"So since you're not dating Eddie Munson," Robin began and you couldn't help but roll your eyes so hard that it almost gave you a headache. "I was wondering if you might want to go on a double date with Vickie and myself?"
"A double date typically involves two couples."
"Right, you're absolutely right." Robin was stuttering. "I have this friend and he is also single. Problem solved."
"Steve?"
"Yeah."
"No."
"Wh- Why?"
"Because I have nothing in common with Steve and Steve is a prick," you replied bluntly.
Robin rolled her eyes. "He's actually not, like, at all. Besides, I talk about you all the time to him and he said that he would really like to meet you."
"He must have forgotten that he spent the majority of my freshman and sophomore year bullying me with Tommy H and Carole," you muttered under your breath.
Your friend reached out and grabbed you by the shoulder, stopping you in place and spinning you around to face her. A sigh escaped your lips as you looked her in the eye.
"That was a long time ago. I wasn't a huge fan of him when I first met him, either." She gave you a lopsided smile and you found her attempts to win her friend a date with you amusing. "I promise you that it's worth a shot. So, if you change your mind, we're going roller skating on Saturday night."
"You rollerskating?" You laughed and heard a car honk a few times as it pulled up.
"You're so funny!" She stated sarcastically.
Steve gave you a derpy smile as he rolled the passenger side window down. He was wearing his Family Video vest. "Good afternoon, ladies." He called out smoothly, you returned with a small wave.
"Sleep on it?" Robin asked as she opened the door to Steve's car.
"Fine," you rolled your eyes. "I'll think about it."
Robin smiled as she ducked into the passenger seat and closed the door behind her. "I'll see you tomorrow!"
Saturday came sooner than expected, and you had to admit that you were nervous. If someone had told you a year ago that you'd be going on a date with Steve Harrington, you'd probably punch them in the throat. Hell, if someone told you that a week ago, you'd still be swinging.
You had avoided Eddie at all costs throughout the rest of the week. Though, you'd be lying if you said that you weren't a little disappointed there were no notes left in your locker, or that he didn't find some way to talk to you after you left him standing in that bathroom Tuesday afternoon. You even waited up some nights hoping for a phone call or a pebble on the window, but none came.
It took over an hour and half to pick an outfit. Almost every article of clothing you owned was crumpled on the floor or tossed on the bed as you tried on a dozen different outfit combinations. It was the roller rink, so you wanted to be comfortable, but it was technically a date, so you also wanted to at least seem like you tried. Finally, as the clock ticked closer to seven, you decided on jeans, an off-shoulder top, and your Converse. You really didn't care to impress Steve Harrington; you didn't care in freshman and sophomore year and you certainly didn't now.
"I thought you said you had a date," your mother mentioned as you stepped into the living room. She was on the couch watching Who's The Boss, a jar of mixed nuts in her lap.
"I am," you replied as you shrugged into your denim jacket. She looked you up and down and you rolled your eyes. "We're going rollerskating; comfort was the priority!"
The distant sound of a car horn honking interrupted the conversation, prompting you to glance out the front door. Steve, acting as the evening's chauffeur, awaited with Robin and Vickie in the backseat.
"Don't be out too late," your mother muttered between mouthfuls of peanuts. "But enjoy yourself."
As the heavy glass door swung open, a wave of familiar sounds and vibrant colors enveloped your senses. The Rollerdome was typically busy on a Saturday night, but tonight it seemed everyone in Hawkins had the same idea to go skating. The neon lights that adorned the rink's interior created a kaleidoscope of vivid hues; fluorescent pinks, electric blues, and neon greens adorned the walls, blending with the glow of disco balls suspended from the ceiling. Upbeat pop music and the thud of roller skates on the smooth, wooden floors flooded your ears as Robin and Steve bickered over which table to claim for the evening.
"I vote this one," Robin declared with unwavering confidence, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "That way, we've got front-row seats to all the wipeouts!"
"That is the exact reason why no one sits at this table, Robin," Steve countered with exasperation. "Everyone knows that the floor is slick there and when someone takes a spill, it's usually right into the table." He pauses before looking at you. "Bye-bye chili dogs."
You can't help but suppress a small smile, "I think it's perfect. If there's a chance one of those uppity assholes comes flying face first into our table, it'll be the highlight of my entire year."
"Can't argue with that logic," Steve added quickly. "Good choice, Robin."
She rolled her eyes and dragged Vickie off towards the rental counter. You casually tossed your bag on the top of the table; a clear marker that it was claimed. Steve removed his jacket and placed it next to your bag before running a hand through his thick, dark hair. It was clear that he was nervous as his eyes darted around the roller rink. He definitely didn't give off the same 'King Steve' aura that you remembered so well.
Maybe you'd give him a chance.
Just kidding.
You turned on your heel and walked off towards the snack bar, drawn in by the delicious aroma of extra cheese pizza and buttered popcorn, leaving Steve scrambling to catch up with your determined stride. Robin wanted a pretzel and a Coke slushy while Vickie had asked for cheese fries and an orange soda. You wanted nachos but agreed when Steve ordered to split a pizza, doing his best to impress you as he paid for everyone, but instead, all he got out of you was a slight eye roll. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Vickie lead a wobbly Robin out onto the rink. A chuckle escaped your lips as you witnessed their valiant attempts to navigate the rink without falling prey to the more seasoned skaters.
"So what are you into?" Steve asked as he filled up his drink at the fountain machine. "What do you like?"
"Uh," you weren't really sure what to say. You still couldn't really get past the fact that Steve Harrington was trying to have a conversation with you. "I like music."
"Yeah?" He asked. "I like music."
"Cool."
"This is a good song," he replied and pointed awkwardly to the overhead speakers while Another One Bites The Dust by Queen played loudly.
You couldn't help but think of the irony and did your best to suppress a laugh before Steve got the impression that you thought he was funny. Oh, how this date was failing epically; which you were already anticipating, so at least you hadn't gotten your hopes up about it. Steve was almost trying too hard to force a spark between the two of you, but without Robin around- which was often because she was too busy flailing about on her skates while Vickie tried her hardest to keep her from falling- it was absolutely boring.
At least the two of them seemed to be having a good time.
As the night continued on, you found yourself gradually shedding the initial reserve that had clung to you like a second skin. The pulsating rhythm of the music, the laughter of your friends, and the infectious joy of gliding across the smooth floor started to work its magic. A genuine smile tugged at the corners of your lips as Steve, Vickie, and Robin circled the rink alongside you, sharing jokes and banter.
"I need something to drink!" You yelled over the music at your friends before carefully exiting the floor onto the carpet.
Steve exited with you, gliding up to the table with ease; moving around you to the music, dancing on his skates. The hesitant glances you'd given him earlier transformed into playful exchanges, and you couldn't help but admit that his efforts to charm you had slowly but surely begun to work.
As Robin and Vickie continued to skate around the rink, something caught your eyes in the corner; a familiar, curly head of brown hair in the back towards the arcade. He was leaning against the wall, arms crossed, his brown eyes pinned to you as his friends huddled around one of the pinball machines.
You smirked softly as the music changed. In the background you could hear Steve talking, but you were too busy having a staring contest with Eddie from across the room.
"So what d'ya say?" Steve asked.
"What?" You asked, reluctantly tearing your eyes away from Eddie.
"It's a slow song," he mentioned. You could see a blush creeping to his cheeks. "Did you want to couple's skate?"
You agreed, allowing Steve to take your hand and lead you out onto the rink. It was wrong of you to use Steve in the way that you were, especially since you were just starting to like him. But the satisfaction that you felt seeing Eddie roll his eyes as you and your date skated by was too good to pass up. And yes, you faked the giggles and latched on to Steve's arm a little more with each time you passed Eddie, really twisting that knife as much as you could.
But hey, it was just "casual" right?
As the song came to a close and Steve led you by the hand back to your table. You couldn't help yourself but to glance back to the corner of the rink towards the arcade, only to see Eddie push himself off of the wall and stomp off towards the exit.
"I'll be right back," you called over to Steve as the song ended. "I need to get some fresh air."
"I'll come with!" Steve offered but you placed a hand on his arm to stop him before he could unlace his skates.
"I'll be okay," you assured him with a sweet smile. "I'll be right back."
Hurriedly, you unlaced your skates and shoved your feet into your worn-down tennis shoes before chasing after Eddie. The summer air was still very humid as you stepped out of the cool air conditioning and into the parking lot. The sunset was barely lingering on the horizon and the sky was a mixture of periwinkle and orange. To your right, you could see Eddie walking away from you and towards his van.
"Hey!" You called to him. He turned around to see it was you and threw his head back dramatically before turning back to his van. "What is your problem?"
"Steve Harrington, really?" He spat, turning to you once again.
"Oh, come off it!" You replied, closing the gap between you. "Jealousy does not suit you, babe."
"Steve fucking Harrington?" He asked again. "I mean what do you even talk about with that guy? Different variations of the color beige?"
"At least he can stand to be seen with me in public!"
You were standing toe-to-toe with him now, chests heaving. His eyes squinted as he stared down at you.
"You want to be seen in public?" He asked. "Careful what you ask for, princess."
Before you could protest, his hands were on your shoulders, maneuvering you to his van; walking you backward until your back was pressed up against the side door. "Hopefully Harrington will wander out here looking for you." He reached a hand behind you, swinging the door open, and pushed you in. "He gives me the impression of someone who likes to watch."
Eddie crawled into the van after you, leaving the door open, not caring who saw or heard. His lips were on yours in an instant. You moaned as he ducked his head into your neck, working your nerves as he popped the button on your jeans. He didn't even care to pull them all the way off, or your shoes for that matter. As soon as he had pulled your pants down far enough to expose your pussy to him, he held your legs over his head and began thumbing your clit; spreading a slick coat of wetness along your swollen lips. He lifted you up, throwing your legs over his shoulder as his tongue hungrily delved into your core.
You gasped in surprise, hands flying to his hair, wrapping around the thick of his roots. You could hear him fumbling with his belt buckle as his tongue worked your dripping folds. Once he had freed his girthy cock, he lowered you down, still holding your legs over his shoulders with his arms now snaked around your thighs as he lined himself up with your core.
Without warning, he shoved his cock into the deepest part of you, feeling you tighten and loosen around his length. You moaned loudly, forgetting that the side door to his van was still wide open.
"Should I send you back to King Steve filled with my cum?" He grunted as he thrusted against you. "Let him hold your hand as you feel me dripping into those cute, little panties?"
Your eyes rolled back as he continued to pump into you.
"Look at you," he whimpered, so close already to finding his own release. He dragged his thumb across your bottom lip and you took his digit into you mouth. "Fuck!"
You could feel his cock pulsing against your walls as he filled you with warm ribbons of his cum. Eddie crashed on top of you, his face buried in your neck as he tried to catch his breath. Your hands moved to his shoulders, pushing him off of you with a sigh. You were already pulling your jeans up over your hips and fixing your shirt.
"What is it now?" He asked.
"It's nothing, Eddie." You replied.
"Oh, it's something."
You said nothing and stood up out of his van. Half of you wanted to just walk away and leave him there, like you had on Tuesday, but you couldn't do that again. You were miserable after the first time you did that- so miserable that you agreed to go on a date with Steve Harrington, of all people. This time you turned to him, looking him dead in the eye as you tried to find the right words.
"I'm not just some easy girl, Eddie." You spat at him. "I allowed you to fuck me in the parking lot, and in the bathroom, and in the auditorium that one time because I like you. I guess- I just thought that you liked me, too. I thought I was more than just some girl that you go down on in the passenger seat of your van, but I was wrong."
He opened his mouth to say something, but you held your hand up to stop him, wanting to get it all out.
"You just want sex," you continued. "You don't want to date me, you don't want me to be your girlfriend, you just want something casual, and I'm not that."
"What are you, then?" He asked.
"Leaving."
He said nothing as he watched you turn away, leaving him completely dumbfounded. For once, you felt like you had the upper-hand in this game the two of you had been playing for months now.
The walk from Eddie's van to the front doors of the Rollerdome felt like miles as the gravel of the pavement crackled beneath your feet with each step. You half expected him to run after you, take you in his arms, and confess his love for you, but you were met with nothing but silence. With a final glance over your shoulder, you reentered the roller rink, leaving Eddie to grapple with the unspoken complexities that lingered in the warm, Summer air.
The electric energy of the rink greeted you, once again; a stark contrast to the mood you had created in the parking lot. You didn't want to be here any longer and decided upon re-entry that you were just going to go home. Robin, Vickie, and Steve were all huddled around the table as another slow ballad played loudly through the speakers.
"There you are!" Robin greeted with a lukewarm slice of pizza in her hand. She took immediate notice of your changed demeanor and asked, "is everything okay?"
"No," you replied quickly as you grabbed your jacket. "I think I am just going to go home."
"Home?" Robin asked. "Now?" She stood up and pulled you over to the side away from Steve and Vickie. "Does this have anything to do with Eddie? I saw you running out after him earlier."
"Just forget it, Robin, okay?" You sighed as you turned towards her. You looked over her shoulder to see Steve and Vickie watching you. You lowered your voice, "It's over, okay? Yes, I'm upset about it and I hate that I'm upset about it. I wasn't expecting to actually like him."
Robin sighed, "I didn't realize it was like that, I'm sorry."
You shrug your shoulders and shove your hands in your jacket pockets. "It's fine, I'll get over it."
She gave you a half smile, "can we at least give you a ride. I'm sure Steve won't mind driving."
"I'm just going to walk," you muttered. "It's not far."
"Alright, catch you on Monday! Last week of senior year!" She exclaimed and raised her hands, mimicking pompoms for added flair. She outstretched her arms and wrapped them around you and provided a tight squeeze.
"Can't wait," you groaned unenthusiastically.
Monday came and went and before you knew it, the final bell of Friday rang throughout those hideous green and gold hallways as a sea of graduates congregated in the gym; tossing their shimmering green caps into the air, signaling the beginning of the rest of your lives. In one hand, your diploma and in the other, your yearbook filled with well-wishes and promises to keep in touch-- most of which you hoped would forever be unkept.
Robin found you outside in the courtyard after she had managed to escape her parents.
"Here's to the first summer of the rest of our lives," she said breathlessly. "Steve and I are going to the mall if you want to come, spend some of this graduation cash from my grandparents."
"I'm okay," you smiled at her. "Raincheck?"
"If you say so," she rolled her eyes. "Where are your folks?"
"My dad had a little too many of those little sandwiches they were giving out," you made a face. "Mom had to take him home early."
"I'm sure my parents could give you a ride home, if you wanted," she said with a soft smile.
Over her shoulder you watched as Eddie, still draped in his cap and gown, rushed off towards the back of the parking lot. "That's okay, I have a ride," you replied with a smirk.
You gave her a hug and slipped away; turning on your heel and escaping the crowd through the parking lot. As the cars grew thin, you noticed a familiar white van in the back, parked in its usual spot. The side door was open and Eddie was sitting in the back; a cigarette in between his lips and his guitar in his lap. His diploma was tossed up on the dashboard, and his cap and gown were tossed in the passenger seat.
He strummed skillfully as you walked up the side of his van. His eyes were lulled shut and his head was titled back on the headrest. He hummed softly and your lips couldn't help turning into a smile. He was so undeniably perfect and he didn't even know it.
"Is that new?" You had been hanging out with Eddie long enough now to know his songs by heart. He always asked your opinion on his songwriting.
His eyes fluttered open, but his fingers continued strumming. You could see his gaze taking you in as you effortlessly leaned against the passenger door. He shrugged lazily and tilted his head back once again, staring up at the scuffed metal ceiling of his van.
"I was feeling inspired," he finally replied as he exhaled smoke out of the corner of his mouth. "It's about a terrible, evil temptress who collects the souls of the men of the realm." You quirked an eyebrow at him. "Until one day, she meets a kind and handsome young man who doesn't have a soul to give. So instead, he gives her his heart."
"Sounds a bit dramatic," you replied as you tried to hide the smile creeping to your lips, once more.
"I was thinking about the other night," his fingers stopped strumming as he reached up to pull the cigarette from his lips. He exhaled another cloud of smoke.
"Oh?"
"Yeah, see," he took another drag from his smoke. "I do like you and I do want you to be my girlfriend, always have."
You threw up your hands, "It's hard for me to believe that, Eddie! We fuck nearly every day but you can't take me out on one date? How am I supposed to believe that you want me to be your girlfriend if you can't even respect me enough to take me out!?"
"We have too gone on dates! I bought you pizza that one time!" He exclaimed as he set his guitar back down in the case and snapped it shut. "And we watched your favorite movie!"
"We watched Troll," you deadpanned.
"Yeah, we did," he replied as he stood up out of the van. He towered over you as he stood up straight. "And after it was over you said that it was your new favorite movie."
"I was being SARCASTIC!"
"God damnit!" He spat right back.
"You took me back to your trailer because you were tired of fucking me in this van!" His jaw dropped at the accusation. "And the only reason you ordered pizza was because there was nothing else to eat and you struggle to even microwave a frozen TV dinner!"
His hand flew over his chest as he gasped. "You really are an evil and terrible temptress! Your words are venomous!"
You sighed, "Tell me honestly... is there something wrong with me?"
"You think there's something wrong with you?" Eddie asks, a small laugh escaping his perfect lips. He shakes his head and moves his hands up your arms to your shoulders, looking at your straight on. "Sweetheart, you're perfect."
A blush creeps to your cheeks and you can practically feel yourself melting in his hands.
"You're perfect, like, way too good for me," he continued, a bashful grin playing on his lips. "I should've said it before, a million times."
"You think?" You asked.
"Let's just start over, okay?" He pleaded and jutted his hand out to you as if he was asking for a handshake. "Hi, I'm Eddie. Will you be my girlfriend?"
You narrowed your eyes as you glanced down at his hand, pursing your lips in a futile attempt to suppress a smile. Fuck, you hated how goddamn charming he was. Giving up fully to him, you accepted his hand. Though, before you could utter a single word, he pulled you in for a lingering kiss that left you breathless.
"Say yes," he whispered as he pulled away, his lips hovering just above yours.
"Yes," you whispered as you look up into his dark brown eyes.

Bye Bi Steve Part 2
The long awaited second part to the "Bye Bi Steve" fic. I hope you enjoy it and please leave your thoughts in the comments!
~*~*~*~
Steve was gutted. He never even considered a world where Robin and Eddie didnât immediately accept them. He imagined that Robin would pat his shoulder and launch into a gross display of critiquing his âtypeâ, just as heâd done with hers. Eddie would say something flirty to make him blush, call him Big Boy or something equally lewd to get Steve to laugh before giving him a hug and whispering his acceptance in his ear. But thatâs all they were; delusional imaginations.Â
Of course they wouldnât accept him, why would they? Maybe they were right. Perhaps Steve was just confused. Maybe he only liked Eddie at that moment because he looked like a girl with his hair up in a bun, although Steve had a feeling that Eddie would take offense to that too. But any time he tried to rationalize it, force the idea of being straight, he got a nauseous feeling in his chest. He finally felt comfortable with who he was and now he had to change it? It didnât feel right.Â
Understandably, Steve started pulling away from the Party after that disaster of a coming out. He felt a little bad for pulling away from the kids without explanation but how would they accept him when his best friends didnât? It was better just to create some distance before they could trample on the shards of his heart even further.
For the next two weeks, he avoided all contact with the Party. He switched his scheduled shifts with Keith so he didnât have to work with Robin. He left his phone off the hook so the kids couldnât reach him. He even told Hopper that his parents were in town so he had an excuse to skip the family dinners at the Hopper-Byersâ. Itâs not like theyâd want him around their family if they knew Steveâs sexuality anyway.
The only person Steve canât shake is Nancy. Sheâd been a crutch for him the entire time; offering her shoulder up when the tears got too much, supplying him with ice creams a plenty from multiple grocery store runs, and even holding his hair back when he puked up all the alcohol he chugged in an effort to forget the betrayal. Steve didnât know what he wouldâve done without her.Â
She too was avoiding the Party but whenever Steve asked her why, she would just give him a blasĂŠ, âif I see them, Iâm going to shoot them. Itâs better for me to be here.â And well, Steve wasnât going to argue with her on that. It felt nice having a friend he could count on when everyone else had abandoned him. He just hoped he didnât mess it up like he did everything else.Â
~*~*~*~
Nancy was going to murder Eddie and Robin. They were off gallivanting around town together like nothing was wrong, like they hadnât imploded Steveâs entire worldview in one fell swoop. Anytime she saw them, she felt her trigger finger twitch. She was livid, after everything sheâd been through in her life, sheâd never been so angry. But she was hurt too. Just like Steve, Nancy thought that Robin and Eddie would be the ones to understand them the best. They knew what it was like to be queer in a small hick town in the middle of nowhere. She thought that they would be compassionate and helpful. But clearly she was wrong.Â
As soon as she got the call from Steve and heard his tears distorted over the phone line, all of her attraction to Robin shriveled up and died. She could never be attracted to anyone that made her goofy teddy bear of an ex-boyfriend, her friend that had always tried to be there for her, cry. It left a part of her feeling empty though too. Sheâd liked Robin since she saw her running weirdly from the orderlies at the asylum. To have that affection die so suddenly and over such a pivotal detail left Nancy feeling unbalanced.
However, as angry as she was, Steve was still hurt. He was closer to both of them than she would ever be, ever wanted to be now. She had her family, she had the newspaper club, and plans for college. What did Steve have? He depended on Eddie and Robin to be there for him and they werenât. Even still though, his hurt superseded any anger. He was still hopeful that his friends would come around, desperate for their acceptance and approval.Â
So, while Nancy was still quietly plotting their gruesome and painful murders, she was also looking into ways of forcing them to accept Steve. She was willing to do anything to get the real Steve back, the one that smiled all the time and bitched about the kids. The more she thought about it, the more determined she became. Operation Get Steve Happy Again was a go.Â
Nancy took out all the stops. She made color-coded flashcards on sexualities and gender identity. She drove all the way to Indy to buy queer zines from an LGBT+ bookstore in the city. She was going to make them understand even if it was the last thing she did. Eddie and Robin werenât going to know what hit them.
When all of her preparations were complete, Nancy tucked her gun into her purse and made her way to the trailer park once again. Eddieâs van was parked crookedly in its place in front of the window and Wayneâs worn down truck was tucked neatly beside it. It seemed Wayne would get a front row seat to the show too then. Nancy didnât even knock before barging inside which took both Eddie and Wayne in surprise.Â
âWhat the-â Eddie said, jumping up from his seat at the table and spilling his cereal milk.Â
âI have my gun and I will use it so listen. Your whole shtick is not conforming to what society dictates you have to conform to. Iâve always admired how you stayed true to yourself despite what everyone in town thought of you. But this is the most conformist youâve ever been. If you donât fix this with Steve and see where heâs coming from, I will make your life a living hell. So fix this and do it quickly,â Nancy threatened. Then she turned to Wayne who looked as lost as sheâd ever seen him.Â
âIâm sorry to barge in, Mr. Munson. Make sure to give Eddie a talk about accepting others, alright? He has a lot of quirks that weâve learned to accept, Steve should get the same treatment. Have a nice afternoon.â
She left before either man could utter another word and made her way to Family Video. Steve had today off so she was reasonably sure that Robin would be manning the store on her own. When she got there, she pulled the station wagon right in front of the door and stalked inside.Â
âWelcome to Family Video, how can I help you? Oh, hey Nance. Whatâs up?â Robin asked her in greeting.
Nancy shook her head at her. âI donât understand. Steveâs your best friend and you ridiculed him. I know he accepted you when you came out to him. I know that you would talk about all of your lesbian interests with him and he wouldnât bat an eye. Then he makes one comment about finding a guy attractive and you shut him down? Just walk me through it.â
Robin looked chastened. Her eyes were wide, her fingers fluttered, and her feet shuffled. âI donât know why I did that, honestly! I just, I thought Steve was making fun of me and Eddie and I got so angry. I donât care who Steve likes, I just want him to be happy. I donât understand liking both or being bisexual. At the moment, I just saw it as losing the thing that Steve and I had in common and I didnât go about it in the best way. And I donât even know how to apologize because I know I monumentally screwed up. If I were Steve, I wouldnât forgive me but I donât know what I would do if he didnât,â she rambled.
The crack in Nancyâs chest healed a bit at her words. Sheâll never get her attraction to Robin back after all the damage thatâs been done. However, she could be her friend. She wasnât really biphobic, and Eddie probably wasnât either, they just needed some more explanation to understand what bisexuality was and how to accept it.Â
âSteve will forgive you, he hasnât been able to get over this the entire time. Heâs still just waiting for you guys to get your heads out of your asses and go apologize to him. And heâs still your best friend, him liking guys too doesnât change that,â Nancy told her. She pulled some zines out of her purse and handed them to her. âHere, read those. Theyâll tell you exactly what bisexuality is and what not to say when someone comes out to you.â
Robin took the papers with a whispered thanks and Nancy started making her way out of the store. At the last second, she turned around and called out to Robin who was already looking at her.Â
âAnd Robin? Go talk to him sooner rather than later. He really misses you guys.â
Then she made her way home to cry about her own heartbreak.Â
~*~*~*~
Steve was second-guessing himself again and wallowing on the couch for yet another afternoon when his doorbell rang. Considering the lies that heâd told everyone else to keep them away, it had to be Nancy. The only other options were Eddie or Robin and he knew it wouldnât be them. He hadnât rescinded his coming out yet so they had no reason to be coming over.Â
Yet when he opened the door, he came face to face with a guilty looking Eddie. Steve almost closed the door in his face but Eddie jammed his boot in the way with enough force that the door wiggled. âSteve, please let me apologize to you. Just give me a few minutes and if you want me to leave, I will.â
Steve debated it for a moment before sighing and gesturing him inside. âI havenât changed my mind so I donât really know what you came here to say.â
âI came to tell you Iâm sorry. I never shouldâve said that you and Iâve felt like a piece of shit since then. I know youâre not faking it, or being a manwhore, or making fun of us for being gay, and we shouldnât have said that you were. I know youâll never forgive me for saying any of that but just, you have to know that I do accept you and Iâm proud that you were able to come out.â Eddie had tears rolling down his face at the end of his speech and his voice was hoarse.
Everything in Steve wanted him to give Eddie a hug, to pull him into his arms and wipe his tears away but he couldnât. âWhy did you say it then? If you didnât mean it, whyâd you say it? It really hurt and I thought I was losing my best friends because of who I am.â
âYouâre not, Steve! I swear Stevie, youâre not losing us if you still want us. I didnât know what bisexuality was and I didnât know that someone could like both until after I talked to Nancy. And then after she explained it to me and told us how hurt you were, I didnât think you would want us talking to you. Iâm so sorry, Steve,â Eddie cried.Â
Steve was a little torn. He wanted to forgive Eddie right away, forgive him at the first word of his apology, but deep down, he knew he couldnât. He couldnât just brush off these past few weeks of feeling hurt and isolated from his best friends that were supposed to be there for him no matter what.Â
âThanks for your apology. I canât forgive you right now,â Eddie made a broken sounding whimper at that but Steve continued. âBut I will eventually. I just need some time to think about what I want. You guys really hurt me and I donât know how to get over that.â
âTake all the time you need, Stevie. I know I hurt you and I will do everything in my power to fix that. I support you and I accept you and itâs about time I proved it,â Eddie promised him.Â
Steve nodded. He had no doubt that Eddie would make it up to him and things would eventually get back to normal. Theyâd been through an alternate dimension, a mind-killing psychic wizard guy, and a bunch of murder accusations. This wouldnât be what broke them. He pulled Eddie into a hug right before he left and his heart seemed to calm a bit at the contact. Yeah, theyâd be fine. It might take a while but theyâd get there.Â
Later that night, long after the sun had set, Steve heard another knock at his door. He was long over guessing who it could be since he never seemed to be right anyway. When he opened the door to reveal Robin awkwardly standing on his porch, he was once again surprised. What had happened in the past twelve hours to change both hers and Eddieâs minds?Â
Steve didnât even get to say anything before Robin started rambling. âI am so sorry, Steve! I never shouldâve judged you so harshly and I know you wouldnât make fun of me being gay because you never have before so that was really stupid on my part. I shouldâve accepted you right off the bat and started making fun of you liking Frank-N-Furter and Eddie like you did for me about Tammy. I know I majorly screwed up but can you ever forgive me? I promise, I will make it up to you so much!â
Steve looked at her for a moment before his mouth widened into a small grin. âYou know, Iâve really missed you. I had to have a whole crisis on my own and everything.â
âIâm so sorry! I swear to you, I will never not be supportive and accepting to you ever again. I need my Platonic with a capital P soulmate back and I need you to start working shifts with me again. If Keith flirts with me one more time when weâre on a slow shift together, I might actually hurl all over him,â she babbled.
Steve just laughed and pulled her into a hug. Yeah, things would end up alright between them. It might be a little awkward for a while and there would always be some apprehension on Steveâs part but everything would be fine.Â
~*~*~*~
Everything did eventually turn out fine. Robin and Eddie groveled to Steve for weeks and long after he had already forgiven them. Once the air was cleared between them, things went back to normal. He had Robin back as his supportive best friend and he had Eddie at his side as his boyfriend. He had Nancy too as the best friend that he could count on when Robin and Eddie started misbehaving with one another.Â
Steve always remembered that they didnât support him right off the bat (although neither did the rest of the Party when he announced he was dating Eddie). Whenever he made a new decision or wanted to accept a new job or something, he always felt a flash of fear of whether they would ridicule him again.Â
But other than some low self-esteem and a minor lack of faith in Eddie and Robin, they lived on together in happiness. Through every up and down, they were there for each other in the way they could only wish they had been when he came out to them.

Happy ending please!!! Thank you!!
I hope this is what you wanted and you enjoy it. Thank you for requesting đŤśđť
Soft spot
Y/N knew liking Steve was a horrible idea, but she fell anyway. She liked him before he became King Steve, and unfortunately liked him during that phase.
He did not feel the same. Instead, he publicly embarrassed her. Even though it happened years ago, she could still feel the burn of embarrassment. And the fact she never got an apology from him might have been a factor as to why she can't get over it.
Then he graduated and she didn't have to relive it. She kept clear of him around town, not wanting him to find something else he disliked about her. She was doing a damn great job at it, until Eddie.
Eddie and Y/N were best friends and ran hellfire together. One thing that started their friendship was their dislike for Steve. And now? Eddie and Steve somehow became friends, and it pissed Y/N off.
She was hurt and betrayed that Eddie would be friends with him, but Eddie kept preaching that Steve was different. But how was Eddie so sure? What if he changed back within a second. She still had a soft for Steve and knew that part of her would win. That meant she was going to fight as much as she could.
As for Steve, he never forgot about her once he graduated. She was out of sight and in his mind, her name always rang a bell.
She was talking with Eddie, her smile so wide and beautiful. Steve couldn't help but stare in awe as she looked memorizing doing something so simple. Then her eyes moved to his, and he froze. He gulped as her eyes went into slits before she looked back at Eddie. Steve almost felt jealous of her soft eyes when she looked at Eddie. He wanted her to look at him like that too.
After Eddie bid her goodbye, he walked over to Steve.
"Ready to go?" Eddie asked, clueless to Steve's personal battle.
"Uh yeah, but quick question," Steve said, Eddie turned his head to listen. "How do I get Y/N to like me?"
~~~
Eddie warned Steve it would be a long ride to get Y/N to forgive him, and he was okay with that.
Y/N worked at the arcade, and Steve happily drove Dustin and the gang to play. As they went wild, he made his way over to the counter. She was leaning over the counter, looking bored as he walked up. But once she saw him, she stood tall.
"Hi, Y/N right?" Steve asked, already throwing on his charming smile
"That's what the name tag says," She said, sass on her tongue. Steve looked down at her chest, her name tag clear as day.
"Right," Steve said, rubbing his jaw as he tried to figure out what to say next. "Look, I'll just cut to the chase-"
"No need to, I'm not interested in anything you have to say," she said cutting him off. She smirked, loving that she got to embarrass him instead.
"That's fair, but please?" He tried. She tried to look away from his desperate brown eyes.
"Please? King Steve begs now?" Y/N asked, her smirk growing more and more.
"I'm not King Steve anymore. I grew up and left that stupid ego behind." Steve said, his voice serious. "I want to apologize and maybe start over?"
Y/N felt her heart race, but she couldn't get sucked in by his charm and puppy eyes. "Why all of a sudden? Because you and Eddie are friends? Just because you two are friends, does not mean we need to be friends."
"I've never seen you around, but you are now and I want to fix this." He said as he pointed between them.
"You mean never noticed me around," Y/N snapped, "and nothing to fix because I'm not interested in ever talking to you. Now if you'll excuse me, I have work to do." She walked out from behind the counter and took off.
Steve sighed, not happy with how that interaction went.
~~~
Eddie and Y/N talked about the next campaign as they walked to his van. The night was chilly as it was nearly eight pm. Y/N sighed as Steve's car was parked next to them, Dustin in the front seat.
"Hi, again," Steve said with a smile, leaning slightly out of his window.
Y/N rolled her eyes and got into the van, slamming the door shut before he could speak again.
Eddie shrugged his shoulders with a slight smile. He secretly enjoyed the treatment she gave Steve.
~~~
Y/N sighed as Eddie dragged her through the party. Sometimes she hated how much she loved Eddie and agreed to do anything for him.
"Deal will be like an hour tops, then we'll leave," Eddie promised. Y/N sighed louder but kept walking. Eddie found a table outside and took her a seat, Y/N left to grab them a drink.
She walked into the crowded kitchen and filled up two cups with some type of liquor she didn't even know.
"Need a hand?" Steve's voice came from behind her. His mouth was right in her ear, his breath made her shiver.
She turned around, sighing as she prepared to deal with him again.
"Nope, I'm all good," she said, preparing to leave but he softly grabbed her arm to stop her. He yanked her so her body was against his. She was so close that she smelled his cologne and the beer on his breath. His skin glowed under the dim lights, and she tried not to memorize the freckles and moles on his face.
"You aren't leaving until we talk," he demanded. Y/N tried to stand her ground, tried to act like his touch, his voice, and his body had no control over her.
"I told you I don't want to talk," she snapped, but her body didn't move.
"Fine, then listen." He said, moving his grip down to her hand as he walked her into the nearest room with a door.
He closed the door behind him, now both in a random bedroom.
"I'm meant to be here with Eddie," Y/N said, one last attempt to leave but he didn't move away from the door.
"Eddie will be fine for two seconds," Steve mumbled. Y/N placed the drinks on the nightstand and crossed her arms.
"What do you want from me, Steve? Why can't you leave me alone?" She asked
"I'm sorry for what I did in high school. I'm sorry I said those things about you in front of a crowd. You never deserved that. I was a dick and too prideful to admit I was wrong, but I'm not anymore." He began to walk towards her, "I'm not him anymore. I've changed, but the one thing that never changed was my feelings for you."
Y/N froze as the last words fell from his lips. He was now right in front of her, soft doe eyes staring into hers.
She broke the eye contact, licking her lips as she cleared her throat. She looked around the room before she looked at him again.
"Munson told me all about your suspicion and that you don't believe that I've changed. But I can prove it to you if you give me the chance." He spoke softly and quietly.
"What feelings?" she whispered, her voice cracked as her throat dried up. She felt nervous under his strong gaze.
"I've had feelings for you for years. I know I fucked up my chance the first time. Being popular was too important and I forced myself to pick Nancy. I tried so hard to make her you," she gulped as his left hand cupped her cheek. His thumb rubbed her cheek, and she hated that she felt herself melting into it. "No one could be you."
Y/N collected herself and pushed him off.
"That doesn't make sense!" She argued, her skin was growing hot. "You have these huge feelings for me? I put myself out there for you! I asked you to the dance and you rejected me way crueler than I could have imagined. Now that you lost your title and realized you peaked in high school, now you want me? Now I'm safe to go after? You haven't changed. You are still shallow and selfish." Her words didn't deflect Steve. Her angry body was toe to toe with him, she breathed heavily but all he could focus on was how close her lips were to his.
"I can't change the past, Y/N. If I could, I would in a second. But please at least give us a chance. What if we could be really good together? I know you still have feelings for me. Here's another chance for both of us to see where these feelings can take us."
"How the fuck do you know what I feel? You don't know me."
"You wouldn't have spent years hating me if you didn't still want me." He said a smug look on his face that she wanted to smack off. "You wouldn't still be standing here, trying to deny me if you didn't like me. It would have been easy to leave me here, but it's hard isn't it? A part of you wants me to suffer, which I understand and deserve. But what does the other part of you say?"
She bit her tongue as she thought. She knew everything he said was right. Her pride wants to leave him in this bedroom alone. But he followed his pride and it left him hurt. If she followed her pride, wouldn't she have the same outcome?
"The other part," she started, holding herself in her arms, "doesn't want to let you go for a second time." She admitted she looked down at their shoes. She could feel water in her eyes but she tried to keep it back. "I already know what life is like hating you," she looked up. He was hanging on to every word, his lips parted as he waited. "And my stupid heart wants to know what it's like to love you." A tear slipped and she wiped it away before it fell. "I hate that I want you."
She sniffled, and Steve quickly held her face in his hands. He leaned his forehead against hers, closing his eyes as he felt her breath hitting his lips.
"Let me heal you. I can fix this for us." He promised. She closed her eyes as more tears fell. "I'm sorry, so sorry."
Before she could say anything, she felt lips against hers. She sighed at how soft his lips felt, but how strong the kiss was. It made her breathless. She tangled her hands in his hair as she let herself go. She'd wanted this since she was sixteen, she needed to go for it.
Kissing Steve was better than she ever dreamed. His hands moved down to her waist, pushing her further against him. The kiss grew hot and heavy as they desperately clung to each other.
Y/N would always have that soft spot for Steve.
âSeems like you're declaring war on me,â Bucky said, his voice steady but his eyes narrowing slightly.
âDoes it sound like that? Forgive me.â Steve set the golf club down, a smirk playing on his lips. âWhat I meant is, we have to be aware of everything. We're this close to winning.â
âI agree.â Bucky replied, his expression calm, though his mind churned with unspoken thoughts.
âThis is why I trust you.â Steve clapped him on the shoulder. âRemember, we're playing in the highest league now.â
Steve paused before adding casually, âBy the way, my son wants to visit Nate. Is that okay with you?â
âI'll let my wife and Nate know,â Bucky responded, his voice neutral, though he felt a flicker of unease.
đ¸đ¸đ¸đ¸đ¸
When Bucky got home, he saw you sitting cross-legged on the floor with Nate, working on a puzzle together. You both seemed relaxed, unaware of the weight he carried from the conversation with Steve. He walked over, his movements deliberate, and knelt beside Nate.
âNate, buddy, can you go to your room for a bit? I need to talk to your aunt,â Bucky said gently, placing a hand on Nateâs shoulder.
Nate, always obedient, nodded. âOkay, Uncle Bucky,â he said before scooping up a few puzzle pieces and heading inside.
Once it was just the two of you, you glanced at Bucky and noticed his exhausted expression. He looked like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.
âWhat? Did something worse just hit you?â you asked, raising an eyebrow.
Bucky took a breath, his jaw tightening. âDid you just involve Ian?â His tone was calm, but his eyes betrayed his frustration.
You widened your eyes, momentarily caught off guard by the question. That single look was enough for him to sigh deeply, running a hand through his hair. âIâŚâ His hands clenched into fists momentarily. He wanted to be angry, knowing full well this would put you on Steveâs radar.
âJust⌠tell Ian to slow down,â Bucky muttered, clearly uneasy.
âI canât,â you said softly but firmly. âThe way Ian works is far more efficient than anything I could do.â
Bucky rubbed his temples, his frustration mounting. âThen I hope God protects him.â
âBuckyâŚâ you stepped closer, your voice serious. âBe honest with me. Is he in danger?â
Bucky looked down, his hands braced on the counter, his shoulders tense. âSteve just gave me a warning. It wonât matter to him if thereâs blood on his hands.â
Your heart dropped. âFuck,â you thought as panic began to bubble inside. You immediately grabbed your phone and dialed Ian, but there was no answer. Frustration and fear mingled in your chest as you quickly texted him instead: Be careful. Eyes and ears everywhere.
You glanced at Bucky, your stomach twisting. âBy the way, the Rogers twins want to come here to play with Nate,â Bucky added as if it were a casual comment, though his voice carried an edge.
âYou allowed that?â you asked, the disbelief evident in your tone.
The mention of the twins unsettled you. Your mind flashed back to watching The Shining in secret with Tim, and how the twins in that movie had always given you the creeps. That eerie feeling wasnât just from the film anymoreâit was rooted in real life. You had learned the truth: William and Charles, Steve's sons, had a reputation for bullying other students. The thought of them around Nate made your skin crawl.
Would they be a good influence on Nate? You highly doubted it.
Bucky gave a tired shrug. âI canât say no to the future president, right?â
You pressed your lips into a thin line, knowing there was little you could do to stop it. But one thing was clearâyou would be keeping a very close eye on them when they came to visit.
đ¸đ¸đ¸đ¸
The twins arrived at the house, their faces lit up with matching grins, excitement practically radiating off them. Nate, catching sight of them, bolted to the door, his small body bouncing with joy.
"William! Charles!" Nate called out, bouncing on his toes as he welcomed them in. His innocent joy was palpableâhe was simply happy to have people he knew coming to play with him.
"Hey, buddy," William said, ruffling Nateâs hair as they walked inside.
After a brief exchange, they settled in front of the game console, and soon, the twins had chosen a violent shooter game. The screen flickered with gunfire and explosions, the sound effects jarring in the otherwise quiet room. Nate, seated between them, initially watched in awe but quickly became uncomfortable.
His tiny hands shot up to cover his eyes, and he flinched with every loud noise, his body tense as he pressed himself into the couch. He covered his ears, trying to block out the unsettling sounds, but he didnât say a word, not wanting to ruin the moment.
You watched from a distance, trying not to be the nosy adult. You wanted to give them space, but seeing Nateâs frightened reaction twisted something in your gut. Likewise, you couldnât stand by anymore. Walking over to the boys, you kept your tone polite, but firm.
âGuys,â you said, your voice cutting through the sounds of the game, âis there another game thatâs not as scary? Look, Nateâs getting scared.â
William glanced down at Nate, who was huddled close to him. âOh, why didnât you say something, buddy?â he said, patting Nateâs shoulder as if that would fix everything.
Charles sighed and turned off the violent game, switching to something more child-friendly. "Here, weâve got a game for you, Nate." He scrolled through the options and selected a bright, colorful one with cartoon rabbits running a restaurant.
The second the screen changed, Nateâs face lit up. âWow!â he exclaimed, his fear dissolving as he leaned forward, eager to play. The teenage boys, now seemingly patient, guided him through the simple controls, explaining how to serve food to the cartoon animals. You felt a wave of relief. Maybeâjust maybeâthe twins werenât as bad as you had feared.
Later, the boys decided to go swimming. You sat on a poolside chair, keeping a close eye on Nate. He was wearing a floatie around his small frame, happily splashing in the shallow end while William and Charles horsed around further away.
Suddenly, your phone buzzed. It was Ian. "H...ell...o"
You stood up, checking the signal, which was terrible. Frowning, you moved toward the balcony. The pool was indoors, so you stepped outside, hoping for better reception.
âI just got your text,â Ian said when the call finally connected. His voice was rough, but you could hear his smirk through the line. âYou know this isnât going to stop me.â
âIâm serious, Ian,â you replied, leaning against the balcony rail. âBucky told me directly. Youâre in danger.â
A pause, and then Ianâs voice, low and almost teasing, came through. âHmm⌠Guess where I am right now?â
You sighed, trying to play along. âLondon? Since you went home, right?â
âNope. Paris. And Iâve found somethingâsomething lethal enough to kill Steve,â Ian said, his tone dark with implication.
Paris? You froze. Was this related to Hazel? Your heart pounded with a new surge of anxiety. âIan, donâtââ
But before you could finish, you heard it. A splashâloud, frantic. You turned around, the blood draining from your face. In the water, you saw a small hand desperately reaching out, the floatie floating uselessly nearby. It was Nate.
Panic gripped you like a vice. âNate!â you screamed, dropping your phone as you sprinted back inside.
Without hesitation, you dove into the pool, your body hitting the cold water like a shock to your system. Your hands reached for him, pulling Nateâs tiny, trembling body to the surface. His arms latched around your neck in a vice grip, coughing and sputtering as you lifted him from the water.
He gasped, burying his face against your shoulder, his small body shaking as he clung to you. âHeâŚhe canât swim!â you snapped at the twins, your voice filled with raw anger.
William and Charles stood there on the edge of the pool, unfazed. âThatâs why we were teaching him,â they answered in unison, their tone almost dismissive.
Nate let out a pained cough, his voice weak. âMy nose hurtsâŚâ he whimpered, rubbing his face against your neck.
Your heart ached at the sight of him, vulnerable and hurt. Anger surged through you like a tidal wave, and you glared at the twins. You remembered that they both just watched while Nate was drowning. Without raising your voice, you pointed to the door, your finger shaking with fury. âGet out. Now.â
The command echoed in the room, sharp and unforgiving. William and Charles flinched, startled by the intensity in your voice. Without a word, they quickly grabbed their things, shooting one last glance at each other before rushing out the door.
You stayed in the pool, holding Nate close, your teeth gritted in anger and your heart still pounding. You knew thenâthose boys were never going to be allowed near Nate again. Not after this.
The twins walked into the Roger household, their shoulders slumped, clearly sensing the storm waiting for them. Behind them, Peggy followed with a stern but composed expression. As they stepped further into the room, the tension was palpableâSteve stood there, arms crossed, his face hard as stone. He had heard everything from you, and his sons could feel his fury even before he said a word.
William and Charles instinctively moved closer to Peggy, seeking the safety of her presence as if she could shield them from the inevitable.
Peggy, sensing the mounting tension, stepped forward slightly, her voice calm but firm. âSteve, calm down. I will talk to them.â
Steve let out a frustrated sigh, his clenched jaw releasing only slightly. âIâm not going to yell,â he said through gritted teeth. âBut I need to say something.â
He fixed his cold gaze on his sons. âBoth of you will be homeschooled from now on.â
The twinsâ faces fell in disbelief. âDad, no!â William blurted, and Charlesâ mouth hung open, too stunned to speak.
âI know,â Steve said, his voice quieter now, but there was no softness in it. âI know the main reason for your behavior is because your mother and I have been too busy for you. We never spent time together as a family.â His arms unfolded, and to their surprise, he pulled them into a hug. âSo, homeschooling is the best option, isnât it?â His tone sounded almost tender, but underneath it lay a cold warning.
William and Charles glanced at each other, then back at Peggy, silently pleading for her to intervene. But she didnât. She stood still, her lips pressed tightly together, offering no rescue.
âGood children donât question their parents,â Steve said, his voice dropping low. âYou just say, âYes, father.ââ
The twins swallowed hard, a sinking feeling settling in their chests. âYes, father,â they muttered in unison, their voices barely above a whisper. It felt as though their every move would now be monitored.
Steveâs lips curled into a smile, but it wasnât warmâit was the smile of a man in control. âGood. Now, go back to your rooms.â
The boys moved quietly, retreating upstairs, the weight of Steveâs words heavy on their shoulders.
Once they were out of sight, Steveâs smile faded. He turned toward Peggy, his tone biting. âThis is why I never wanted to send them to boarding school in the first place. They needed parental guidance, not strict school rules.â
Peggyâs eyes narrowed, a tired look crossing her face. âDonât start again, Steve. That decision was made by my father.â
Steveâs expression darkened at the mention of her father. His voice dripped with bitterness. âOh yeah, him. I almost forgot. Iâm glad heâs dead.â
Peggyâs face tensed, a flare of anger sparking in her eyes. âWhen will you stop badmouthing my father?â
Steveâs cold stare met hers. âNever.â
Steve had lived a life bound by duty, his role in the military shaping every part of him. He was a good soldierârespected, disciplined, and obedient. But despite his loyalty, promotions came slowly. His lack of a powerful family background meant he was always overlooked by those with better connections. Essentially, Steve was an orphanâwithout anyone to vouch for him, he was left behind.
He knew how the system worked. If you didnât have the right name, the right family, there was always a price to pay. And Steve had paid it, doing the dirty work of his superiors without question, sacrificing his principles just to keep his place. The worst part of it all was that his commanding officer, General Carter, was his father-in-law.
Every step of his career, Steve had been a puppet for the man who held both his professional and personal life in his hands. The weight of it bore down on him every day.
âGood soldiers donât ask why,â General Carter always said this to him. âThey just say, âYes, sir.ââ
"Yes, sir." Steve answer it like he's a robot.
At some point, Steve had everything heâd ever thought he wantedâmarriage, a steady career, money, and status. On paper, he should have been happy. But he wasnât. His life felt dull, empty, like the spark had been drained from it.
The day he realized the truth hit him like a punch in the gut. He wasnât his own manâhe was nothing more than a tool for his father-in-law, a puppet dancing to someone elseâs tune.
That was the moment he had enough. The frustration, the years of silently obeying, simmered into anger. He wanted to be the one in control. He was tired of taking ordersâhe wanted to be the one giving them.
Steveâs life had been dull for years, a constant routine of military duties, politics, and the weight of expectations. Until the day he met Hazel. She was much younger than himâvibrant, full of lifeâand he was supposed to give her advice, to help steer her back home. Julius and Caroline had asked him to help their daughter stop running away. But when Steve sat with Hazel and listened to her story, something shifted. Her reasons for running, the pressures she feltâher life mirrored his own struggles. For the first time in years, he felt empathy.
He told her, quietly, âIf you ever need someone to talk to, you can find me.â
And from there, things changed. They grew closer, and eventually, more intimate. He knew it was wrongâcheating on his family, betraying his friendsâbut for the first time, Steve felt alive again. The numbness of his life vanished in her presence, replaced by something that burned, something real. And then came Nate, the baby born out of that connection, out of a love he hadnât felt in years.
Steveâs thoughts snapped back to the present. His jaw clenched tightly as he faced Peggy. âDid you tell them to hurt Nate?â
Peggy stood her ground, her face a mix of frustration and cold calculation. âNo,â she said flatly. âBut theyâre smart enough to figure out why their father cares so much about that kid, and why heâs alwaysâŚâ She hesitated, her lips curling into a thin smile. âSpending time with his little girlfriend. Maybe theyâre just releasing their anger.â
Steveâs fists tightened until his knuckles turned white. âWhen I get into the White House, you wonât be coming with me.â
Peggyâs eyes narrowed, but she didnât flinch. âAnd what then?â she said with a mocking tilt to her voice. âYou think youâre going to put that girl in my place? Have you forgotten who you are? You were a beggar, crawling to my father for help.â
Steveâs eyes darkened, a dangerous calm settling over him. âAnd this beggar has crawled his way to victory,â he said slowly, his voice low but filled with menace. âYou can act high and mighty because of me. Donât forget that I can take it all away from you.â He stepped closer, his words laced with venom. âRemember how your family got their business permits? How they were saved from corruption charges and tax evasion? That was because of me.â
Peggy let out a scoff, her eyes filled with disdain. âYou think youâre a king now?â She crossed her arms, shaking her head. âI actually pity her, you know. Because one day, sheâll feel exactly what I felt. Youâll never be satisfied, Steve. Youâll never have enough.â
She turned to leave, her hand on the door. Before stepping out, Peggy glanced back at him, her eyes filled with cold certainty. âNever.â
You sat beside Nate, your heart heavy as you watched his small chest rise and fall, his face flushed with fever. The doctor had just left, handing you a bottle of medicine. "Make sure he drinks this, and let him rest completely," heâd said before exchanging a few quiet words with Bucky and leaving the apartment.
Nateâs red, feverish face made your heart ache. He had been through so much in just a few hours. You gently wiped a damp cloth over his forehead as Bucky sat beside you, silent and tense.
"Never, ever let Nate be alone with them again," you said, your voice firm.
Bucky nodded, his expression serious. "I agree. And Iâm sorry. I never thought theyâd pull something like that."
âDonât underestimate underage kids,â you warned, your voice sharp. âThere are so many cases where perpetrators canât be jailed because theyâre underage.â
Buckyâs jaw tightened. "Noted. I wonât forget that."
A brief silence passed, then you asked, âHave you called Hazel?â
âI tried, but I couldnât reach her. I called her assistant, though.â
You nodded, your mind still spinning. The memory of Nate sinking beneath the water haunted you, but there was something else gnawing at youâyou hadnât finished your conversation with Ian.
Excusing yourself, you left the room and grabbed your phone, your stomach dropping when you noticed the cracked screen from when youâd dropped it before diving into the pool.
You dialed Ianâs number, your fingers trembling as you pressed it to your ear. The first ring echoed, unanswered. Your heart pounded faster. The second ringânothing. A cold sense of unease crept into your chest. Why wasnât he answering?
On the third try, the ringing stopped abruptly, and you exhaled in relief. âHello? Ian?â you asked quickly, your voice tight with worry.
There was a pause on the other end, then a voice you didnât expectâfamiliar, but not Ianâs.
âY/N?â
You froze, confusion flooding your mind. âHazel? Why are you answering Ianâs phone?â Panic started to rise inside you, the pieces beginning to fall into place. Ian had gone to Paris. He had found somethingâsomething connected to Hazel and Steve.
âHe⌠he canât answer it,â Hazel whispered, her voice breaking.
Your breath caught in your throat, a chill racing down your spine. âWhy?â The word came out in a shaky breath.
There was a long silence before Hazel finally spoke, her words hitting you like a sledgehammer.
âBecause heâs dead.â
Currently picturing Steve enabling wannabe rockstar Eddie and when they do little shows he helps him with the eyeliner and makeup and maybe a little glitter and tells him how sexy and metal he looks. When they take off he gets his own makeup person and Steve still always tells him how hot he looks before and after the shows.
CC is doing a big reunion tour and theyâre doing an interview and the interviewer shows them old ass pics of their old shows and Eddieâs eyes bug out of his head and heâs like âyâall let me go out there like this?!â
And theyâre like âyeah Steve would do your makeup and you were so stupid in love you couldnât see that he did a terrible job.â
And he gets all doe eyed like heâs remembering when Steve would do his makeup and says âwell I donât think itâs that bad⌠Itâs the thought that counts!â
Of course the CC fandom knows Steve so they go feral about him doing Eddieâs early makeup. When Eddie gets home itâs to Steve with his arms crossed. âYou thought I did a bad job at your makeup đĽşâ
And Eddieâs like âno baby, I didnât mean it like that I promise.â Basically groveling even though he knows Steve is probably joking.
Steve says âokay I forgive youâŚâŚ.. if you let me do your makeup for your next show đšâ
And the first show of the tour Steve does Eddieâs makeup like he used to and the fans go crazy when he comes out and they even chant Steveâs name.
