Introduction? or something...
Hi! I'm Fio. (she/they (what even is gender at this point... idc), 29, german, chaotic good tired) I'm new here... kinda... had this account for forever but never did anything with it. I have been feeling comfortably unhinged lately, I don't think I need to explain why that led me here?... either way. I do art stuff... I draw... I write... I've my fanfiction phases, thought lately I got stuck on my OCs largely due to DnD... I identify as... something Ace, never cared for a distinct label. Gender doesn't make sense to me so I gave up on it. Latest revelation: Spending excessive time on rendering skin in a digital drawing has a solid 50/50 chance of either healing my touch-starvation or making 100-times worse... still always worth it. I will unapologetically post art shit and brain dumb here because I never dared doing that and I am turning a new leaf. Thanks for having me... check out the links if you like my vibe: twitch - deviantart

Steddie Fic- 9 Stops
9 Stops
Steve Harrington/Eddie Munson
Rated: Everyone (but with kissing)
Deaf Eddie, newly deaf Steve, meet cute, modern fic, no upside down
Summary:  And holy shit this might be his chance because…Yeah.  Yep.
Yes.
Steve is kissing him.  It’s warm and better than he imagined, and it’s really, really scary because Eddie has never liked someone so much in his entire life and God, if he wakes up and this is a dream he’s going to fucking lose it.
Note: You have all been so nice?  Im crying?  This fandom is so soft.  Posting one more Tumblr one-shot tonight.  This time with kissing.I gave you Deaf Steve so now have Deaf Eddie/deaf Steve (big D little d, not an innuendo)
Word Count: 2400
***
The train is quiet.  In a literal sort of way, everything is quiet for Eddie Munson who was born deaf and remained deaf despite all the praying and laying hands and shit that adults were always doing at his parents’ church when he was little.
That was before CPS got involved and Wayne stepped in and made things better.
But in a more metaphorical way, the train is quiet because—what most people don’t understand—the Deaf community is loud.  And he means that in every way it’s possible to mean that.  Everything is turned up to max volume so they can feel it.  When they get together it’s big gestures and faces all twisted up in expression and wagging tongues and stomping feet and…it’s a lot.
It ain’t your momma’s sweet little interpreter at Sunday Service kind of deaf.
He doesn’t regret the job working at the center, but he takes the train home instead of carpooling with the other guys because it’s going to get loud again when he meets up with the rest of Corroded Coffin for band practice.  They met at school when Eddie was finally allowed to leave the nonsense of mainstream education he couldn’t actually understand behind him.
Garret wanted to call the band something like Deaf Devils which Eddie flat out refused because he will not—under pain of death or torture—ever be obvious or predictable.
Also why he takes the train.
At least, why he used to.
Now he takes the train because he takes the train.  The Hair, Eddie’s been calling him.  It’s a sign name that Steve Harrington doesn’t actually know about since he doesn’t interact with Eddie.  Eddie doesn’t do intake or adult shit.  He mostly works with newly deafened teens, or teens that have come from hearing homes and are finally allowed to get more involved in the Deaf community.
They call it socializing but it ’s mostly a way for Eddie to be able to run the most badass DnD campaigns known to man and get paid for it.  It’s maybe the sweetest job he’s ever had and there’s no chance in hell he’s ever giving it up.
But he noticed Steve when he showed uplooking like a scared, lost little lamb the way they all do when their world has been flipped upside down.  And Eddie does feel sympathy for him.  Steve looks like the kind of guy Eddie hate. The kind of jock that liked to push Eddie into trash cans and lockers because—surprising absolutely no one—Deaf school had preppy jock assholes too.
So Eddie mostly avoids Steve and his polo shirts and his annoyingly glorious hair for a really long time.  And he definitely doesn’t get soft on the inside whenever he sees the look of frustration on Steve’s face when he comes out of the ASL level one class.
Eddie remembers it pretty well, but not well enough to relate.  He also never lost a sense so he’s not quite sure what Steve’s going through.
But he’s not a monster.  He feels.
He feels too much sometimes.
He kind of wants to tell Steve that it gets not just a little better, but so fucking much better.  That it’s a big deal that Steve came to the center because most people his age just get some metal and magnets slapped inside their skulls and hope for the best and move on without realizing they don’t actually have to choose between one or the other.
They don’t have to lose one to gain.
Or something poetic like that.
He needs to write that down.  It sounds like it could be a pretty decent song lyric.
Anyway, Eddie used to take the two o’clock train, but now he pushed it to three because that’s when Steve shows up at the station with his head down and his hearing aids off and his fingers all twisting in his lap like he’s trying to quietly practice everything he learned that day.  Eddie notices the shaking, and he notices the dark bags under Steve’s eyes.
Steve doesn’t notice him though.  He’s not quite there yet.  At that place where sight replaces sound naturally, and he starts noticing everything around him without waiting to hear it.
He can’t help but keep his eyes on Steve, even squashed between two dudes—one of whom is eating legit an actual to-go box full of fettuccini alfredo.
And of course that happens to be the moment Steve finally looks up and sees him.  After six weeks, Steve finally notices.
His lips twitch.  Eddie braces himself because he expects Steve to be maybe angry.  It’s obvious Steve recognizes him.
Then Steve raises a hand—a small and subtle thing.  ‘Hi.’
Eddie snorts.  ‘Hi.’
Steve goes on a face journey which Eddie reads like one of his favorite novels and in spite of himself, he smiles wider.
‘You think this guy would freak out of I took a bite of his food?’ Eddie chances.
There’s no way in hell Steve’s that far along in his lessons, but he watches as Steve’s lips curve around a couple of the words he knows.
‘Don’t understand.  Sorry,’ Steve finally signs, back—still subtle like he doesn’t want to be noticed.  Then he yawns, the kind that Eddie knows probably cracks his jaw.
He stands up without realizing it and moves across to sit beside his not-friend.  He sticks out his fist and they knock knuckles—a fairly safe greeting.
Steve sighs.  ‘Sorry,’ he signs again.
‘I know,’ Eddie tells him.  ‘Give it time.’
Steve must have learned that one from his teacher saying it over and over to his students.  It’s not your average ASL class.  It’s not hearing people trying to get a credit, or start a new job or something.  It’s all people in Steve’s shoes trying to learn how to communicate again without making their brain feel like it’s full of static electricity.
‘You’re tired,’ Eddie signs.
Steve nods, then remembers to respond with a fist.  ‘Yes’
Eddie laughs and shakes his head.  ‘What’s your stop?’  He signs it slowly and fingerspells some so Steve will understand.  Train-STATION, yours, which?
Steve licks his lips, then lifts a hand, pinky touching his thumb.  ‘Sixth AVE.’
Eddie nods decidedly, then shuffles so close their thighs touch.  Steve startles, but Eddie just reaches over and tugs Steve’s head until it falls against him.  ‘Sleep,’ he tells him.  They have nineteen stops to go—and that’s nine past Eddie’s.  But he’s done worse things than ride the train all evening.
Steve stiffens like he’s going to put up a fight for a second, and then his body relaxes.  He’s asleep before stop four.  He’s snoring so loud that Eddie can feel it rumbling against his side by stop seven.
By stop sixteen Eddie hates himself for what he has to do.
At stop eighteen he gently prods Steve who wakes up with a jolt and stares around like he doesn’t know where he is.  Their gazes lock, then his shoulders sag.
‘Thank you,’ he signs.  His fingers are nice.  Lovely, in fact, the way they tip from his chin.  Watching him blossom into the language will be a real treat.
If Eddie’s invited in.
***
So.
Train naps become a thing.
Eddie meets him at the entrance to the station, and Steve tells him one or two facts about his day with his growing vocabulary—and he probably picks up some colorful commentary and slang—and some of Eddie’s home-grown home-signs which is alright by him.  Just…hopefully he doesn’t get yelled at in class for using them.
Because then Eddie will get yelled at later. Scott Clarke will definitely know where they came from.  But it’s kind of hard to care because Steve scrunches up his face when he’s processing something new.
And Eddie’s halfway in love and he’s not interested at all in pumping the brakes, even if Steve seems pretty goddamn straight and will only break Eddie’s heart in the end.
***
It’s twelve weeks now and Steve’s starting to look better.  A little more rested.
It’s a Tuesday the first time Steve doesn’t fall asleep, but he also doesn’t put space between them, either.  He stares at his hands for a while, then he looks up at Eddie.
‘I,’ he starts.  ‘Went deaf overnight.’
That…’sss a surprise.  That’s not super common to just randomly go deaf.  At least, not in someone as young as Steve who can’t be more than twenty-five.  Not that Eddie hasn’t seen stranger things, but still.
He can tell Steve’s not done with his story.
‘Dr told me I had three tumors and I would go deaf eventually,’ he signs it Deaf-future-later like he’s not sure which one is right and Eddie just lets him have it.  His brain’s interpreting it juuuust fine.  ‘I was sad, but okay.’
Eddie nods.  That-that.
Steve smiles and bites his lip before letting it go and it’s all spit-slick and shiny and Eddie wants to taste it so badly.  ‘I fell,’ he signs.
Eddie clarifies that he means he physically fell.
Steve touches the back of his head.  ‘Nineteen STITCHES.  CONCUSSION.’
Eddie winces.  He’s has his fair share of head injuries from mosh pits and other stupid shit, but those were injuries he all-but chose to have.  Steve looks devastated.
‘Dizzy,’ he signs.  ‘VERTIGO.’
Eddie shows him the sign for that and Steve copies it.
‘I couldn’t walk.  Tried everything.  Fail.’
Eddie winces again.  ‘Sorry.’
Steve shrugs.  ‘They removed tumors.  Hearing was gone.’
Eddie tries to think about what life might be like if he just woke up one day and lost a sense.  And okay it would be different since he was already Deaf but he still gets it.  As best as he can, anyway.
He sighs and turns, cupping Steve’s cheek.  Steve leans into the touch like he’s starved for it, and God knows Eddie is, so he’s not in a hurry to pull back.  He grazes his thumb under Steve’s eye.  ‘Sleeping better?’
Steve laughs.  Eddie has some—what the doctors call residual hearing which seems a little ridiculous since Eddie was born this way, but whatever.  It’s enough to hear—just barely—the rumble of Steve’s laugh over the faint noise of the train.  Mostly he feels it against his hand though.
‘Yeah.  Better,’ he repeats.
Eddie sighs, but before he can mourn the loss of their routine, Steve shuffles closer and lays his head down.  Eddie knows he doesn’t sleep, but this is good too.
***
For the first time in six months, Eddie doesn’t come to his ASL class.  And it’s not like Eddie’s waiting…
Which is a lie.  He’s definitely waiting.
The kids give him epic and endless shit for being distracted—to the point he gives up and lets Mike start his own campaign while he paces the room and feels all kind of itchy all over and he hates it.  He hates it so much.
The kids all go home eventually and Eddie gets on the train at three and he stares at the empty seat that Steve should be in and it feels like there’s a sudden canyon or maybe a dark hole that leads into some alternate dimension that stole these moments away from him.
His stop comes and he almost doesn’t get off until he remembers he doesn’t need to wait nine stops past, and nine stops back.  His knees are kind of shaky as he brushes past people and feels the silence kind of profoundly for the first time in maybe ever.
And then the world rearranges.
Steve’s there, leaning against the wall near the stairs with his arms crossed and a pissed off look on his face that’s both terrifying and really, really beautiful.  Eddie feels like he might choke on his own tongue as he stumbles to a halt.
‘Nine.’
Eddie stares at Steve’s hand thinking maybe he’s got the wrong sign.
Then he does it again.  ‘Nine.’
Eddie looks behind him, then at Steve again.
‘Your stop is before mine.’
Eddie flushes.  Hard.  So hard he gets a little dizzy.  ‘Yes.’
Steve swallows hard.  ‘Why?’
Eddie flops his arms and his whole body kind of moves with it, and he wants to pace and be loud with his body but they’re in public.  Like, hearing public.  Someone will definitely call the cops and tell them he’s on drugs, especially since he tends to vocalize a little loudly when he’s uncomfortable and it unsettles hearing people’s delicate little ears.
He takes a breath.  ‘You were tired.’
Steve blinks at him kind of incredulously.  ‘I was tired,’ he repeats.  His face doesn’t give Eddie any indication that it’s a question but…
Maybe it is?
‘You were tired,’ he repeats.
Steve pushes away from the wall.  Stalks a step closer.  Then suddenly his hand is on Eddie’s cheek bare and warm and soft, and he mirrors that gesture, swiping a thumb under Eddie’s eye.  ‘Where is your shoulder?’
‘My—’ Eddie starts.  Stops.  His hand hovers in the air.  His shoulder.  His own Eddie?  ‘I don’t need one.’
‘Bullshit,’ Steve shoots back at him.  It’s an older, more archaic sign he definitely got from Scott, but it hits the mark.
Eddie sighs and shrugs again.  ‘You were tired,’ he just repeats.  He needs Steve to get it.
And oh.  Maybe he does, because he’s pushing in closer again and his hand has fallen to the back of Eddie’s neck and there’s absolutely no signing space between them now.  Steve’s lips move like maybe he’s talking to himself—probably a habit he’ll never totally lose, but Eddie likes it.  He likes the way Steve’s lips dance and he wants to feel them.
And holy shit this might be his chance because…
Yeah.  Yep.
Yes.
Steve is kissing him.  It’s warm and better than he imagined, and it’s really, really scary because Eddie has never liked someone so much in his entire life and God, if he wakes up and this is a dream he’s going to fucking lose it.
But when it ends, Steve is still warm, and still perfect, and still touching him.
‘Nine stops,’ Steve manages to sign.
Eddie laughs.  ‘Eighteen, if you count the ones on the way back.’
He feels Steve’s groan as he rolls his eyes, then he grins as Steve surges back in to kiss him.
Kiss him.
Kiss him.

age: (nosho) + (nosho - 1)
location: The Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, USA, in a thunderstorm
top sheet, yes or no? Yes, with a weighted blanket on top, with a regular comforter on top of that.
how many stuffed animals do you own? I have two Lovecraftian monster stuffed animals on my bookshelf. I have my college mascot (a 49er) on my mantel. I have a mouse with a chamois-cloth stomach that I use to clean my monitor. So, four?
the names of your pets (and the explanations behind them): Buttercup, named after the Princess Bride. Shadow, a shortened version of Shadowhunter. Calypso, because we found her the day the "Calypso's Birthday" episode of Our Flag Means Death aired. Pogo, after the butler in Umbrella Academy.
favorite color: Orange!
any tattoos? Nope! Nor piercings.
how you transport your belongings (purse, tote, hands, pockets, etc.): In a black multi-pocketed purse.
the last movie you watched: Arrival. My son gets to choose all the movies this week.
how long does it take you to get ready in the morning? 5 minutes for getting dressed/grooming. 25 minutes to play my daily word games and wake up.
favorite weather: First week of October! The sun hits perfectly and the temperature is starting to turn crisp.

ice cream flavor of choice: I have to limit my dairy, so I eat chocolate sorbet. It is the besssssttttt.
first fandom: Star Wars (the original trilogy)
how many books have you read this year? Ha ha ha. Books, you say? Zero. If we're counting words of fanfic read, the number goes way up.
first 4 words of your last notes app entry: Instead of using a notes app, I text things to myself. The last 4 words there are "Emerson at 311" and "DnD"
and finally, if you had to change your URL tomorrow, what would you change it to? It would definitely be something fandom-agnostic, because I like to leave my options open. Probably a favorite nature word like Chicory or Sassafras.

If the campers had a chance to talk to each other outside of the summer, who do you think would interact the most, and who do you think would barely contact anyone?
I love how suddenly everyone in the cc fandom is getting anon asks trying to collect data lmao
The found family fan in me wants to believe they'd all exchange phone numbers and social media accounts at the end of summer and stay relatively close, but if we're being realistic and specific:
Max, Nikki and Neil find a way, obviously. Neil has a cellphone and Nikki and Max don't, but they do have a computers, so they manage to talk. However, their schedules never perfectly sync with each other. Max has gymnastics and other activities from monday to friday, Nikki doesn't log in much in weekends because she's often doing something with her mom or exploring the woods so she doesn't get sick like in "Into town" and Neil isn't allowed to stay up super late and actually listens to his mom unlike most kids his age.
So Max barely talks from Monday to friday, Nikki barely talks in weekends and Neil doesn't talk late at night. They manage to make it work and stay mostly up to date with what's going on in each other's lives.
As for the rest of the campers, Space kid definitely sends everyone space facts and memes and shit, but doesn't really keep long conversations most of the time. Ironically, when he does, it's with Max and Neil. It’s mostly arguing, but it counts.
Dolph and Harrison aren't allowed much social media, but when they do manage to talk, both of them talk to Nerris and Preston, but Dolph also talks a good amount to Nikki.
Ered and Nurf fluctuate between not wanting to talk to anyone (because they think they're too old and mature to miss silly friends from a summer camp), and missing them immensely. They talk pretty regularly to each other, Nurf occasinaly talks to Max, and Ered talks to Nikki and Nerris when they reach out first.
Nerris and Preston are somewhat similar in the sense that both of them reach out to everyone, to an extent (Nerris mostly to infodump and beg them to join their dnd campaigns and Preston for gossip). But they talk a lot to each other, Harrison, and Dolph. Nerris also talks regularly to Nikki, and occasionaly Ered and Neil.
Can you tell I headcanon Nerris as a very online person? As in, having an easier time texting instead of talking face to face?

20 Question Fic Writer Tag
Hell yeah I'll play. Thanks @palfriendpatine66 :D
How many works do you have on ao3?
AO3 says ten, but one of those is a series continuation of another one, so I count it as nine...although tomorrow that will go up by one, after the reveals for the Ghost Window challenge go out.
2.) What's your ao3 word count?
Oh god. 690,376. I honestly think I was happier not knowing that fact about myself.
3.) What fandoms do you write for?
I don't multitask well. I can write Star Wars fics or I can write Star Wars fics. I haven't even ventured outside the Clone Wars era yet.
4.) What are your top five fics by kudos?
Some Technical Difficulties - big gap - Solsbury Hill - An Uncivil War - medium-sized gap - An Unlikely Duo - another gap-ish - Down by the Seaside.
5.) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yep. I like it when authors reply to me when I leave a comment, so I try to pay it forward. Also sometimes we get into fun little side chats.
6.) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
At the moment, not one single damn one of them. They have angst in them, but none of them end on angst. However as of about twenty-four hours from now, my answer will be, Ghost Window AU.
7.) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Literally all of them. I'm happy to read angst, but when it comes to writing I am firmly in the happy endings camp.
8.) Do you get hate on fics?
I had some people tell me they were dropping out of Solsbury Hill because it wasn't getting to the Obikin fast enough, but I wouldn't call that hate. So, no.
(Side note, though: you don't have to tell authors that. Just delete your subscription quietly.)
But, I am also very ready to delete any and all negative comments. This is my fun side project; good vibes only.
9.) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
...pretty vanilla kind, honestly. Again, I read much more adventurously than I write. (Although, as recently as two years ago I would have said I don't write smut at all, so hit me up two years from now and maybe I'll be writing hardcore d/s, I don't know.)
10.) Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
By the strict definition, no. If you're talking 'dump Star Wars characters into settings of other movies', then hell yeah, that's kind of my jam right now. Down by the Seaside is Obikin Overboard. Next year I'm planning to publish Obikin Jurassic Park, Obikin Parent Trap, and Obikin Princess Diaries II. And I have a couple more on my to-do list.
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Is this a thing I need to worry about?? Shit.
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated?
@kittonafoxgirl did a podfic of Some Technical Difficulties and it is still like one of the top five most rad things that has ever happened to me; does that count?
13.) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
No but @fulcrum843 are currently mulling something over...
I do get a lot of help with my writing though. @piecesofeden11 basically wrote all the DnD stuff in An Unlikely Duo. I talk stuff out on Tumblr with folks all the time before I actually sit down to write it (or during, lol).
14.) What's your all time favorite ship?
I have no plans to write anything other than Obikin, and there's so much new good fic that it takes up most of my reading time as well.
15.) What's a WIP you'd like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I wouldn't call it a WIP because there are no words on a page but I love the *idea* of a fic based on Jenn Barkley from Parks & Rec but have no idea what direction to take it and may never get to it. (If anyone wants to take this idea and run with it please do; it is very much up for grabs!)
16.) What are your writing strengths?
This is a weird thing to answer about myself but I hope I write with a sense of movement, propulsion, even a little suspense - as a reader I love to feel that I have to turn the page, I have to see what comes next, I don't want to put this fic/book down - and I try to work towards that goal in my own writing.
17.) What are your writing weaknesses?
Getting bogged down in details. It drives me crazy in movies when characters have these huge mansions but seemingly never go to work and somehow this has translated into me being incapable of just writing a smutty one-shot or whatever because what is everyone's job and how much is their mortgage payment and do they get paid on Fridays or Mondays and how many bedrooms does that apartment have.
18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
See answer above about over-complicating things: I came up with this whole system for An Uncivil War for whether I'm writing out the dialogue in a language other than Basic (I feel like we really only have enough information for me to be able to do this in Huttese and Mando'a, and even then only short conversations in certain subjects), or simply noting that a character is saying something in another language ("he said in Ryl" or whatever), or mixing Basic and a word/words in another language within the same sentence. It was important to me to capture that multilingualism, but it's also a lot of work, ngl.
19.) First fandom you wrote for?
Technically Johnlock but I never finished/published anything.
20.) Favorite fic you've ever written?
I love all my babies equally, she lied.
It's the Can't Stop the Suns series, which is An Uncivil War, Pick Up the Pieces (more than halfway completed), and Sometimes Fate Steps In (loosely outlined). Sometimes I'll just look over my notes and get giddy about how much good stuff I'm packing in there and how much *more* good stuff I haven't even gotten to yet. I'm throwing the kitchen sink of stuff I love at it. Even if the final version doesn't quite live up to the vision I see in my head (it rarely does), as long as I get close I'll be happy.
I tag @piecesofeden11, @underacalicosky, @fulcrum843, and, as usual, anyone else who feels up for it!

So, I hope I have identified the miniature emojis correctly with my bad eyes. For the ask game:
🍬🔪 and🍄 pleeeease
i think you're good! all those emojis are on there at least :P
🍬 ⇢ post an unpopular opinion about a popular fandom character
uhhh I've done so many of these that I think I've gone through most of the usual suspects. uhhhh, gosh what popular characters are even left?
ah. i have one.
don't hate me for this, but I just don't like Ezra. I think he's annoying and whiny and him being the main character was a big reason why I couldn't even really get past the first episode of rebels.
But I'm like also one of those people who don't like Aang that much.
🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
does a thing about canaries developing mold on feathers in humid climates count if it was part of me building a whole alien species with planet, fauna, flora, culture, solar system etc for a dnd campaign? Because that was the only writing related project I can think of I had to look up really strange things for.
🍄 ⇢ share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings
janko are ace4ace (with Komari still being sex-neutral/sex-positive and Jango sex-averse)

Did i hear that right? You HAVEN'T watched amphibia?? Oh no all the spoilers you're seeing 😭😭😭
Oh no I’m fine with spoilers. It’s more, I’m doing this to myself. I love interacting with fandom and reblogging posts even before I finish (or start) something.
Lotr is absolutely consuming me right now and then I find out that this show I’ve been hearing everyone talk about includes a taiwanese-american teenage girl who loves lotr, dnd, fantasy, reading, and does well at school but has horrible motor skills (and a lot of people say is autistic-coded) and I knew I had to watch it cause like, I’m desperate for more outcast girl rep. Then I began investigating (scrolling through fandom posts) and it looks super compelling. I mean, three female main characters who aren’t stuck in some dramatic relationships with some guy and who have actual personalities and are fleshed out characters? Count me in. I’ve started it now. Can’t stop thinking of that post that said “amphibia au where they land on middle earth and Anne ended up with hobbits, Marcy with elves and Sasha with dwarfs”.

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
Tagged by @staceymcgillicuddy @cyraclove and @bibiche007 thanks guys 💛💛💛
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
32! I can't believe it!
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
420,197 which is insane!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Stranger Things, hellcheer specifically
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Long Is the Road Out of Hell (dnd au)
The Interview (college/fake dating au)
Hold Onto Me (vampire au)
Cooking Up Something Sweet (rockstar social media au)
Waiting For This Moment (flower shop/tattoo parlor au)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! I try to respond to every single comment! They took the time to give me a comment, why wouldn't I take the time to thank them for it?
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
That's tough, because I always try to give hellcheer a happy ending - they deserve it! But Release My Inner Fantasy, despite being almost purely smut, definitely has the angstiest ending. (although it might be slightly cheating since it is part of an ongoing series, and I do intend to give them an eventual happy ending)
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Again, I love to write happy endings! So most of my fics are very happy at the close. But Hooked on a Feeling might be my most sappy-sweet ending. It's definitely one of my more lighthearted fics!
8. Do you get hate on fics?
honestly, no! the hellcheer fandom overall has been very kind to me. the closest I get to hate on fics is people wishing/asking me to do something different than I've already done (i.e. write an alternate ending because they didn't want A or B in it), which can be very discouraging. but I don't get that a lot!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do! However, I had never written actual smut in my life until this year, so I'm still pretty new at it
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Not really. The closest I've ever gotten to a crossover is crossover elements loosely integrated in a fic. Devil in the Woods, for example, uses bits and pieces from things like little red riding hood and beauty and the beast while remaining very much its own thing!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of! And I'd very much like to keep it that way
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
i don't think so! but i'd be honored if somebody did
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I haven't, but I have a lovely friend who betas for me on occasion and we bounce ideas back and forth so much it sometimes feels like cowriting ( @slumped-in-the-arms-of-fiction )
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
hellcheer, if you couldn't tell 😉
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I intend to finish every single wip I have going atm (As well as a few on the back burner lol). but sometimes it feels like i'm never going to finish them, especially when i'm on the very last chapters. why does it always work like that???
16. What are your writing strengths?
I feel like i'm pretty good at writing intimate scenes. and by that i mean scenes where not a lot's going on, where a small group of characters (usually two) can be together or have a conversation that doesn't do much for the plot but sheds a lot of light on the characters themselves (both to the readers and within the story between characters)
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I'm very undisciplined with writing habits, i don't write every day or have certain goals. i struggle to describe people and scenery in a concrete way that is integrative with the story itself.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
find a native speaker and get (and listen to) their feedback. whether it's tenses, phrases, or cultural tendencies, let someone who's actually the expert be the expert.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
hellcheer! unless you count me scribbling in my journal when i was about eight, writing a boxcar children story because i'd heard that they employed ghost writers and i thought "i could do that!" i wrote like half a dozen sentences, convinced i was going to become employed by the boxcar children publisher.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
honestly? probably Devil in the Woods. it's the one i go back to the most when i need a comfort read.
Tagging @slumped-in-the-arms-of-fiction @sloelimbs@ebongawk and anyone else who wants to join!

20 Fic Writer Questions
@dreamwatch tagged me and I have been so slammed at work but the show is open now and am able to look at my tags.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
11!
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
146,941
3. What fandoms do you write for?
On this account its been Stranger Things, Baldur's Gate 3 and Critical Role - because we're sticking to a Dungeons and Dragons adjacent theme completely not on purpose.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
UNTITLED RECORDING rcd ca. 1987-1988 ANACRUSIS ca. 1987 head line sunflower broke wait, runner
5. Do you respond to comments?
I sincerely try to! I get them pretty infrequently so I'm always so tripping over myself to say something in response and surely sound like a total dipshit when I do. I know there are a few in my inbox I haven't responded to yet because work has my free time in a vice grip at the moment.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oh surely dog at the door - the ending was always intended to be vague and open to interpretation but I cannot imagine any good faith interpretation to the ending is like. good. Runner up is probably of or pertaining to the body, which only takes the runner up status because its an elaboration on canon events that are objectively harrowing, versus with dog where I have engineered speculative misery for the express purpose of being miserable.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
head line, I think, is my only published fic with an unambiguously optimistic ending. I think there's been hope and happiness in my other fics, but not without caveats or as of yet unaddressed emotional complication in the futures of those stories. idk does that even make sense?
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not so far as I know but who knows, maybe there are corners of the internet talking mad shit what do I know?
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I have said it before and I will say it again, I feel like one of my greatest failings as a writer is my inability to write smut without cringing myself inside out. I just don't think I'm any good at it. Smut lives in my heart though.
10. Do you write crossovers?
I suppose it depends on what one's definition of a crossover is? Like where's the line between an AU and a crossover? One time I wrote a DnD ST AU that includes no established WotC DnD NPCs but all of its world building, is that a crossover? Or does a crossover only constitute as a crossover as a matter of disparate series characters interacting? I have questions.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
lmao aint no on reading my business I cannot imagine anyone would be so moved to do so
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I don't believe so, but I also haven't looked into it.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I've definitely worked on collaborative projects before, they all exist in various states of planning or semi-publication or DM hollering. I enjoy it, its like playing toys with your friends.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
It really depends what I'm in the mood for? Vibes wise lol? I have a handful of ships that I constantly rotate around in my brain like a rotisserie chicken that re-enter the hyperfocus zone on a semi regular schedule. Ask my about my forevergirl ships.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?
lol could be any of them tbh
16. What are your writing strengths?
lmao lol even I'm so bad at self praise this is a nightmare. I like to think I have a deft hand with character voice, I like to think my writing feels generally grounded, lived in?
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I really lack rigor, I think, when it comes to writing. I get discouraged by writers block very easily, I make it very easy for myself to walk away from a project. Which, I know isn't inherently a bad thing - some things just don't work out, or you don't have the time for that kind of commitment etc - but I often feel like there is a necessary momentum that I lose that just makes my creative endeavors just stagnate and I really struggle to manufacture that momentum for myself when it starts to diminish.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I think it depends, I think there are contexts where it's appropriate and contexts where its inappropriate. For me it boils down to like, one's ability to use the language authentically and grammatically, if the language being potentially inscrutable to the reader is part of the need of the use of another language - textually, does it feel authentic to the way multi-lingual speakers communicate, etc etc etc.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I think the first fic I wrote with the intent of public consumption was KHR? I think?
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Hm. This answer changes from time to time depending on how I'm feeling about my work in general, but I think right now sunflower broke is holding that top slot. It got me back into writing, it made me realize how much fun writing Eddie's character was for me, the themes that sort of preoccupy me about him floated to the surface there. Just a little scratch of the surface with that one.

Do you have a scene you really liked but weren't able to fit it in a fic? Would you care to share? Do you have a most recent favorite line or scene? What is it?
*Asks are sent for fun, no pressure to answer.
oh man i wish i was confident enough to write and post a fic for a fandom. i am constantly in awe of all my mutuals who give such AMAZING pieces to read and brainrot over, and forever grateful.
all i can offer is a small piece written about a scene in my greek-inspired dnd campaign (trigger warning for dying, then not dying, then a decapitation i guess?)
this is the first time ive put any of my writing out on this site i think?? so um pls be nice lol
Context: My dnd character, Cyaro a demigod of Nyx, has challenged her step-mother to a duel for the fate of their people. It goes Badly but Cyaro pushes through, awakening dormant demigod abilities.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Her knees buckled out from underneath her, body heavy as a thousand tiny cuts spilled her energy and resolve into the thick grass dyed crimson. Cyaro had failed. And now the fate of the world dies with them as they fall, further and further. All is quiet as they gaze up at the stars, the last comforting sight before they once again found themselves in that empty void between life and death, waiting for her brother to collect what was now his. How many times had she visited and yet never stayed? By their count it had to be at least four now. No one is supposed to evade death for that long. Flashes of a funeral in a wheat field appear at that thought. A purple body. A grave. Khantos’ tired posture as he spoke over it. Will her friends do the same for Cyaro’s passing?
The stars twinkle and glisten as time seems to slow. Cyaro is no longer aware of her mother’s presence, just her, her thoughts, and the beautiful stars. Another face comes to mind, seen only briefly at a table full of siblings they will never know. Grinning and jeering at their failures. Cyaro is sure Oizys will take great joy from their actions here at least. Seeking out their mother intending to put this whole hunting issue to rest and failing miserably. Losing her life, and losing any hope of defeating the Father of Monsters. Maybe Oizys won’t enjoy that bit as much.
The stars have encompassed everything now. Cyaro feels as though they are floating, all senses completely dulled. Must be the blood loss. All that swims around in their mind now is how foolish they have behaved. She was made very well aware of the risks of coming here, of declaring Maetha and yet, against all better judgement, Cyaro did it anyway. Following lines of prophecies from cards and flame. And now the world pays the price for her foolishness. Her friends pay. Thaem pays. All because of some idiotic notion that they wouldn't run this time. That they would be the heir and saviour their coven wanted them to be.
The one time Cyaro didn’t run ends in utter failure.
The stars grow brighter, too bright. Their confusion grows - Cyaro knows what it is like to die well enough now. They should be standing before Thanatos, quietly hoping for those ever familiar diamonds to appear in his hand and feeling overwhelming disappointment and regret when they don’t. Yet here they remain, in this sea of stars. There is no longer any pain, only the comforting cold tingle of their magic emanating from their core. As she drifts, the sensation spreads throughout her body until that is all she feels, all she can focus on, so much so it becomes overwhelming. The stars snap into too much focus and suddenly vertigo hits them as though falling out of a tree.
Everything rushes back to them all at once. The long grass underneath them, slick with blood. A cool breeze shifting through their hair. The tangy smell of sweat and iron. The low murmur of a crowd. Deep, exhausted breaths from above her. Cyaro does not dare look up. Instead, she grips her bow tightly, barely noticing how the stars cling to her skin and her joints, A small flick of the wrist and that deadly blade is hooked and flung far into the distance. Another small movement and an arrow is notched and fired, finding its mark just centimetres away. Gathering themselves, Cyaro stands drawing up their leg. It finds easy purchase in the chest of her overbearing mother, just below the arrow sprouting from her heart. Now it is her who falls to her knees, an expression of utter shock upon her lined face. The blood red markings making her out as Nothrim Emmel and whatever power she was drawing from begin to run like tears, leaving behind skin as empty as Cyaro’s own.
Oizys probably still laughs as Cyaro clutches her mother’s snow white hair and draws the stygian ice blade across her throat. But no longer at her sibling. Instead, she likely laughs at a woman who has lost everything.

What fandoms are you in?
also sprinkle noodles got me interested so what’s your original story about
Oh that’s a good question! Danganronpa, obviously- I played the games in the middle of 2020 and it’s had a hold on me ever since lol. I still really love the Mega Man comics/mangas/games and the old Earthbound/Mother series of video games (so much!!) I don’t guess I’m necessarily ‘active’ in those fandoms but I love seeing fan art/fanfics for them (and I want to draw more fan art for both lol) big fan of Mob Psycho 100 still, i was really REALLY into Legend of Zelda for awhile and I’d like to get back into it tbh, maybe replay one of the games. Does DnD count? Idk but I love DnD. I recently started watching Dungeon Meshi with a friend and it seems really fun too :D idk I like a lot of things heh heh
And I am still very nervous when talking about my original story, but it is what inspired the whole Hero AU fics in the first place! Hopefully it’ll be a very fun graphic novel one day.
(I don’t want this post to be too long so I’m putting the rest of this under a read more lol)
The short version is that it’s about a camp counselor working at a very secret and secure summer camp for the children of superheroes.
And the longer version is it’s about an aspiring writer who sticks his nose where it doesn’t belong, gets wrapped up in a big conspiracy, and ends up more or less staying at this camp to avoid being taken out. He starts working as a counselor, dealing with kids, getting close to all the other counselors and actually making friends when things start to uh…. Fall apart. He has to deal with everything he’s been avoiding, his new friends discovering what he’s running from, and someone trying to hurt all the kids at this camp.
If you like slice of life stories that go horribly, horrifically wrong, 20-something year olds dealing with past trauma and being stupid and making friends, and stories about silly superhero shenanigans you might like it!
It’s really self indulgent tbh, a big of just everything I like lol. A lot of themes and ideas from it I actually put in the Ultimate Hero AU, I was feeling pretty bad about my writing skills and wanted to just work on something like… fun with no pressure just to see if any of those ideas worked. I’ve been meaning to post more about it on my main tumblr page, I’m very excited about it and I’m trying to work on it more now :3

Fanfic Tag Game
Tagged by @sarcasticsciencefictionwriter thanks so much for the tag!
I'm afraid this won't be very riveting... I need to upload more stuff, I have a bunch of short fics I could technically upload but never got around to it. Also, the whole "writing three long projects for years" thing.
1. How many fics do you have on AO3?
13
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
29,956
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I have stuff uploaded for Doctor Who, Star Wars, Sanctuary, Dragon Age and The School for Good and Evil.
Out of these I'm still active in Sanctuary (if you could call it that) and Dragon Age. I partly moved on to write original stuff, but a DnD & Dragon Age AU story is in the works. I have some stuff for Fallen London too, just didn't upload it yet.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Cold And Consequences - 357 (SGE, Dovey/Lesso)
all my words are left with you - 221 (SGE, Dovey/Lesso)
Star Wars Fictober Challenge - completed - 129 (Star Wars, various)
All My Pieces - 116 (SGE, Dovey/Lesso)
Littles - 54 (Star Wars, Boga POV - written for fic exchange)
...what can I say, SGE fandom was very lively when I was active in it
5. Do you respond to comments?
Mostly! I really appreciate them all and try to answer always, some slip through the cracks though, for older works where I'm no longer in the fandom.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Don't Save Me (I'm Already Dead)
Canon compliant Luminara fic... The canonical character death was a given, then I spiced it up with some extra angst.
7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
The Luminara lives AU in the Star Wars Fictober Challenge. I might have been compensating a little.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nope! I don't think I post enough for that. Also, hate would require readers and other than my old SGE stuff I'm proudly representing the Very Niche Subfandoms division here. :)
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Nope! I'm the kind of ace where I'm not sex-repulsed but I usually skip smut scenes because I find them boring, no reason to write it.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Not really, more of an AU girl. I contemplated involving Warehouse 13 in my big Sanctuary fic just to explain where James got the exoskeleton from, but still undecided if I want to go ahead with that.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I translated one of my own fics once, does that count? I wrote it in Hungarian originally and wanted to post to a wider audience. (Never again, by the way. Translation is a whole other discipline, I'd rather write it in English from the getgo.)
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
Kinda? We had some stuff with @cardeakelsey once but it never really got written.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
Oh boy. Ever? I don't think I have one.
15. What’s a fic you’d like to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I like to think I will finish all my projects one day. Fingers crossed. I might need to rehaul some of them first to be feasible, though.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Mood setting, foreshadowing, internal monologues. Angst.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Dialogue.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?
I sprinkle it in sometimes, not too much. In my opinion if two characters speak French it's better to just say "they switched to French" in the description.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
No idea. It was a WHILE ago.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Out of my published ones probably the broken and the damned (Dragon Age canon compliant) or Smile (SGE, Emma-centric character study).
Tagging anyone who wants to do it! :)
