Damian, walking into the Batcave: I require assistance.
Dick: Sure, Dami! What can I help you with?
Damian: Not from you.
Bruce, thinking: Damian... Damian needs... father's help? MY help?
Bruce, being way too fucking smug: Ah, well, Dick, don't be sad. Sometimes a boy just needs his father. How can I help you, son?
Damian: Not from you, either. I require assistance from Stephanie.
Stephanie: HA! SUCK IT, BRUCE!

Kintsugi: Chapter 7
Summary: Final Crisis/Red Robin AU. Dick admits Tim to a psychiatric facility after Bruce is lost in time. Jason finds him suffering at the hands of a Scarecrow-copycat and breaks him out. While safe in Jason’s apartment, Tim still struggles with panic attacks and drug withdrawal. At a loss for what to do, Jason calls Roy Harper.
Pairings: Jason Todd & Tim Drake, Jason Todd & Dick Grayson, Roy Harper & Jason Todd.
“I think it’s time that you go,” said Roy, placing a firm hand on Dick’s shoulder in a way that made it clear Dick would find himself on the other side of that door soon, whether he walked there on his own accord or not.
Still, Dick continued to plead his case. “All I want to do is help.”
Jason shook his head.  “It’s a little late for that now, don’t you think?”
He didn’t know when his previous show of angry bravado had faded to a weariness for this constant in-fighting. Maybe it was when he’d had a good long look at Dick’s stricken expression after he’d delivered the news about the emancipation papers. An indescribable look had flickered across his features as the knowledge settled into his bones… the knowledge that Tim might amputate his entire relationship with him— like Dick was a diseased limb that could kill him if left to fester and spread. Jason knew the feeling intimately and it felt like a special kind of death.
Suddenly, he felt torn in two. Where did his loyalty lie?
With Tim? Dick? Himself? There was his survival instinct kicking in again; telling him to fuck them all and run for the hills.
Jason hung back and watched on as Dick took a reluctant step backwards as Roy crowded him, forcing him step by step towards the exit. Dick didn’t even waste his energy trying to change Roy’s mind, his whole attention was focused on Jason as if he knew that he was the only real person in the room with the power to stop his ejection. It was true, he could stop this if he wanted— sit down with Dick and talk it out, but Jason felt powerless to force his own body into movement, stuck fast where he stood unable to make up his mind whether to help or hinder his brother.
Would hearing him out betray Tim?
“Just let me explain my side of things before you shut me out, please?”
For all the shitty things that Dick had done to him in the past, Jason knew that, even when wrong, those deeds were done with good intentions. Maybe it was because of that that Jason never had the heart to watch Dick beg.
He found his voice. “Roy, wait.”
Roy looked over his shoulder, hand still pushing against Dick’s upper body. “You sure you want to do this?”
Jason would only be leading himself into the possibility of future manipulation if he took Tim’s side on every issue without question. Tim had already shown them that he knew how to play on their concerns for his well-being in order to get drugs from them. It hadn’t worked, and Tim had been quick to back off and save face, but just the fact that he’d done it with such guile on his first try had hit Jason like a blow to the head.
“Yeah.”
Roy dropped his hand away and Dick stood patiently as he waited for Roy to back up and give him some breathing room.
“Can we go inside and talk about this?” asked Dick.
“No. Not while Tim’s in there. I don’t want him to have to hear this.”
Dick’s brow creased. “You don’t want him to hear my side of the story?”
Jason knuckled his temple in an attempt to ease the tension building up there.
“Honestly, hearing it won’t mean shit to him. All of the apologies you have to give won’t mean shit to him. Because they won’t change what happened as a result of your actions. Stop apologizing. Learn from your mistakes. Live with it.”
“You say that like it’s so easy.”
Jason shrugged and said nothing, choosing instead to stub the toe of his boot against the grease splattered floor. It wasn’t an easy thing to do and Dick knew that, so there was really nothing more he could say. He wasn’t going to lie.
“You weren’t there…” Dick trailed off just as quickly as he’d started.
He threw his arms out at his side, limbs heavy with such a visible weariness that it made Jason feel like he’d just watched him walk into Gotham River until his head disappeared under it’s dark water. Dick was drowning, that much was clear.
He waited patiently for Dick to gathering himself and continue, stewing with his own uneasy thoughts as the silence dragged on.
“You weren’t there to see what is was like after Bruce’s funeral. I had to take over being Batman and it was clear that Damian needed the mentorship that came with being Robin. I felt horrible for taking that away from Tim. Horrible! But…  Damian didn’t just lose Batman. He also lost his father… I figured Tim would understand that and come around to creating a new persona with time.”
“It seemed like he’d started to with Red Robin. So why didn’t you leave him be?”
“Because he came back to the manor with some crazy theory that Bruce wasn’t actually dead but lost.”
“Lost? Like, what,” asked Jason, “in the woods?”
“Washed up on a desert island like Green Arrow?” asked Roy clearly happy for the change in conversation.
“No, like lost in space and time.” Dick threw up his hands. “I mean, it was absolutely insane! We buried his bones in the family plot. There was physical evidence— forensic reports for Tim to read— and still he kept going on about it. He’d practically barricaded himself inside his apartment. He wouldn’t come back to the manor—”
“So you thought committing him to a psych ward was the next best step?” asked Jason.
“Yes! I made the choice to give him the psychological care he needed.”
“Maybe he didn’t need psychological help! Maybe he just needed someone to listen to him.”
Dick blinked at him. “Are you saying you believe him?”
“We live in a world of aliens, metahumans, and lazarus pits. Does Tim’s theory have some very large, adult male body-size holes in it? Yeah, one hundred percent.  Is it impossible?” He racked a hand through his hair. “Honestly, I don’t know. But, I would have at least listened to him and it was shitty of you to not even call me and ask for help.”
“That guilt trip works both ways, Jason.” said Dick. “You could have reached out just as easily as I could.”
“He’s got a point there, Jaybird.”
“Yeah. Now look where it’s gotten us.”
Dick nodded and cast his gaze about the room, but whatever he was looking for his eyes never settled on it. Finally, he looked between Jason and Roy and extended his hand to Jason. “Truce? For Tim’s sake.”
Jason stared at his hand for a long moment, weighing out the options in his head. He’d settled on his answer and was ready to state it— whether it was the right decision or not— when he was blinded by a blur of denim fabric and curly hair as a woman fell into him. He caught her by the shoulders and righted her, hands lingering for a minute to allow her to totter back on her chunky heels.
She straightened up and took a step back.
“Daisy?” said Jason.
Daisy adjusted the tight dress she wore beneath her oversized denim jacket so that it rested to mid thigh. She pushed her blonde curls out of her eyes and flashed him a smile. “Hey, Jay. Sorry for running into you, literally, but it’s a bit of an emergency. Well, I think it is, anyway.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I’m sorry—” Dick shouldered his way in between them. “Who is this and why is she in your safehouse?”
“Weren’t you listening?” said Roy. “This is Daisy.”
“Hey there, Daise,” Roy flashed her a smile and jutted a finger in Dick’s direction. “this is our friend, Dick. Don’t worry he’s in the night business too.”
Daisy gave Dick an appreciative once over. “My kind or yours?”
Roy crowed with laughter. “Ours. But you hear that, Dickie? If this line of work doesn’t pan out for you, you always have something to fall back on.”
Dick looked less than amused. “Yeah, hilarious. What is she doing here?”
“Daisy and I have a mutually beneficial business arrangement.”
“How’s that?”
“Well,” said Jason. “I make a habit of keeping an eye on Daisy and the other girls who work this neighborhood. You know, run off any troublemakers. In exchange for my services, Daisy reports any suspicious activity she sees in the area.”
Daisy gave Jason’s shoulder a playful shove. “Yeah and sometimes he climbs into my place through the window at four in the morning and asks me to cauterize his bullet wounds with a bottle of vodka and my best curling iron.”
“Oh, real professional, Jason!”
“Yeah we’ve gotta be, don’t we? ‘Cause I mean this boy’s got thighs that make me wanna…” She trailed off with a giggle.  “Well... let’s just say I’ve seen more of this boy’s skin than half of my clients combined.”
Jason ducked his head with a smile. He thought he heard Daisy offering her specialty medical services to Dick (no curling iron service fee included) in an sly undertone to Dick but couldn’t be sure. For all at once Daisy turned back and punched him hard in the shoulder.
“Wait! What am I even doing right now? I totally forgot what I came here to tell you!”
“Ow. Well what is it?” asked Jason, with slightly less warmth than before as he rubbed his sore shoulder.
“That kid that’s staying with you? Saw him climb down your fire escape and head off towards the nearest subway. I could tell even from a distance that he didn’t look in a good way— kinda sweaty and wrung out. ”
Jason’s heart jumped to his throat, all humor dashed in an instant. He spun at once to find Roy, who was already halfway off the stool he’d been sitting on. “Go check the rooms now.”
Roy flew around the railing and up the steps into the safehouse, the door flying open under his hand. Jason tried to gather his thoughts but it was hard to concentrate when the door banged against its frame like a drum playing the offbeat to the rhythmic pound of blood pumping through his ears. He tried to think of the last time he remembered Tim being in the room with them, but he’d been so focused on yelling at Dick in that moment that he’d barely noticed the kid slip out behind him.
“How long ago was this?”
Daisy tossed her hair out of her face. “Uh, maybe five minutes ago now?”
Roy came whipping around the corner, catching himself hurriedly against the stairway rail. “Gone.”
“I’m going out after him.” said Dick.
“Wait— What?” Jason shouted at his retreating back. “You don’t even know where he’s going!”
He was already gone. Behind him Roy was questioning Daisy further.
“You sure it was towards the bridge?”
Daisy nodded.
“Ok. If he’s heading downtown on the subway where’s the nearest place he could score?”
“How do we even know he’s taking the subway? He could be looking for a dealer on the street for all we know! God, this is a fucking mess!”
Roy shook his head. “Unlikely. He doesn’t know the area and who deals nearby. More likely that he’s going to an established dealing ground.”
“I don’t know what he knows or doesn’t know,” snapped Jason. “Truth is; I don’t know that kid half as well as I like to think I do.”
“Hey,” Roy snapped his fingers sharply in Jason’s face. “Stop losing your shit. If I’m wrong and he’s on the streets there’s a chance Dick will find him. If I’m right, then we go and stop him before he makes a big mistake. So, think Jason! I know you’ve got feelers out on every shady dealer and scoring ground south of the Bowery. He’s a minor who’s strapped for cash and sick from withdrawal. Where’s he heading?”
Jason pressed his palm to his eyes and thought hard. “The Iceberg Lounge. Penguin’s club brings in a large crowd of criminals from all backgrounds. He’s got the best chance of scoring there.”
Roy ruffled Jason’s hair. “Let’s go bring him home, Jaybird.”

Back to National City
And finally the part 2 of Maggie x platonic! Reader I know it took me ... sorry. Alex still does not appear in this chapter I wanted to continue, but it would get too big, so there's more to come.
Part 1
Tumblr media
"You do what?" You widened your eyes as you stared at the piece of paper in your hands that would change your whole life.
A piece of paper never looked so heavy.
"You're going to take WayneTech's lead in National City" Bruce said nonchalantly, as if he had not just handed over the responsibility of Wayne Enterprises' biggest subsidiary to him.
"Bruce, this is ... this is crazy. I'm only twenty!" You tried to dispel the shock in your features as you turned to face him.
Bruce took a sip of his whiskey, you couldn't read his expression.
"I trained you for five years. You're more than ready "
"But ..." you gasped for air, falling into the chair in front of his desk.
"No 'but'. You still work for me and this is your promotion "
"Dick's better at it. Or Jason ..." you tried to argue otherwise.
When Bruce called you to Wayne Manor, you prepared yourself psychologically for everything. Except that.
You hoped he'd give you a talk and say it was an bad idea to go to National City with Maggie or whatever ...
Don’t hand him Wayne Tech's branch in your hands.
"If you still want to be who you are, you're going to need a job that doesn’t put your identity at risk. You will be in charge. I know it will go well." Bruce got up and walked out of the office, stopping at the door as if wanted to say something but left without a word.
You looked at the papers in hand and sighed heavily leaning back and staring at the ceiling.
You didn’t know how much time had passed, until a glass of tea covered your line of sight.
You accepted the cup and stared at Alfred.
"It's his way of saying he cares." You took a sip while listening to Alfred. "Patron Bruce is extremely proud of you" Alfred concluded.
You gave a small smile behind the cup and got up.
"Thank you, Alfred." You handed the empty cup.
"The boys just arrived if you want to say goodbye"
So okay. You woke up expecting to have a stressful day of shit, but it was actually being the best and most bizarre day ever.
Bruce first appointed him as head of the Wayne Tech division in National City. Then Dick and Jason surprised you and introduced you to your newest uniform (which Tim boasted had given some 'improvements'). Tim also wanted to take you out to eat, but you gave the idea of ordering pizza and then Dick, Jason, Tim, Barbara, Kate, Bruce, Alfred and an annoying Damian were scattered around the room eating.
This was an abnormal scene and certainly not everyday in your life.
But it was a happy day and you returned to Maggie's apartment with a light heart and a heavy feeling already missing.
You didn’t regret your decision, though.
"So, how was your day?" Maggie asked as you left the bench in front of the kitchen counter.
You broke into a big smile and when Maggie saw it, she knew you'd be all right.
Maggie let out a sigh she didn’t know she was holding.
She had just returned from the NCPD's office. She reviewed some of her work colleagues and observed new faces. She found her former boss and counselor. She had been called in to handle the last details of her hiring, meet her new office, receive the documents of her new recruits, and meet the people she would work with and lead from the next morning.
She never thought she could be so nervous.
All day long she was afraid to run into Alex.
Okay, she had just arrived in town. But it was a possibility. Especially when your ex-sister is a super hero flying around.
She still didn’t know how she would react and didn’t know if she was ready.
Then it was a relief when she reached the newest apartment she shared with you and found you lying on the couch with your legs tossed back and your head hanging from the seat.
Maggie laughed softly and approached, nudging your legs and looking around the apartment.
"You didn’t unpack any boxes?" There was no anger in her voice, just a funny affection.
"I went. But then I opened the first one and just looking at her I got tired. Then the change truck called and said they will not be arriving until tomorrow and then I went to the WayneTech building and .." you dumped it all in one breath and dropped the papers you were trying to read from head to toe.
"It's so much paperwork. Being boss is horrible. I should hire someone to do it for me"
"You just started at the company and already want to hire someone to do your paperwork?" Maggie laughed and went to the refrigerator, getting a beer and returning to the sofa, dropping by your side.
"Is not that what the secretaries are for?" You muttered and Maggie rolled her eyes at the boxes scattered around the room.
"We're going to have to work on this if you're going to live with me!" Maggie patted the bottom of your stomach and you writhed, finally sitting down when there was no more blood that could go to your head.
Maggie held you as you wobbled dumb on the couch.
"Hey, I said I would have my own apartment. You who offered me to live with you!" You pointed out accusingly and Maggie gave a false sigh of displeasure.
"It is. And I already regret it"
You threw one of the few couch cushions on her and Maggie laughed.
"No, you don't. You love me" You gave her tongue and stood up, going into the kitchen thinking about what you would do for lunch. You had stocked the refrigerator that was already in the apartment and also some of the dispensing.
"Yeah, I love, kiddo." Maggie let herself relax on the couch, beer forgotten in her hand as she closed her eyes and listened to the soft sound of you in the kitchen.
"How was your day?" You asked as he hunted the pots and utensils in one of the changing boxes and returned to the kitchen.
"Better than I expected" Maggie commented casually, not knowing if she wanted to talk about it.
Thanks to the deities of the universe you understood her enough not to push and change the subject.
"You will do well. You're Maggie fucking Sawyer"
“What do you say, Shadow” Maggie returned using your new superhero name.
It was a new beginning.

I’m Hiding Your Brother Under My Bed
Quiet Moments
Raven had gotten very accustomed to sharing her quarters with Jason; they had given him his own room but just about every night for the past week there'd be a quiet knock on her door and he'd be there. Since Bruce's arrival Jason become rather quiet, at least when Bruce was around. And since Raven now had a lot of interactions with Bruce Wayne, discussing Jason to some degree as she explained the Lazarus Pit, and it's true nature, and what Jason's emotions were ranging from, she didn't understand Jason's meekness around his parent. Without Bruce around though Jason was a vibrant individual whom she found entertaining and fun to be around.
Which was why, after a week of having him around she'd been trying to figure out his problem with Bruce to see if perhaps she could solve that problem.
Granted, she knew that was not her place, she was merely a fourteen year old empath demon, but she would rather have her new friend happy than in the pain he radiated when Bruce or Dick were around.
"Raven," Damian's terse voice had her looking up from the book shelf she was studying for information on human psychology.
"Damian, how may I help you?" she asked as the puppy came barreling in. Raven scratched Titus' ears as she resumed inspecting the bookshelf.
"I am here to inquire about Todd," Damian stated coming to stand beside her.
"What about Jason?" Raven stressed Jason's name for Damian. For some reason Damian had taken an extreme dislike to Jason for reasons she couldn't fathom. And Garfield's laughter wasn't helping the matter since it only made her want to punch Garfield in his stupid face.
"You spend an aweful lot of time with that lunatic, I am here to demand you cease this because he is dangerous," Damian stated.
Raven stood, bringing herself to her full height; which, while not impressive brought her to Damian's eye level. The air in the room cooled as the shadows quivered to her command, Titus whimpered.
"You demand?" she said so coldly as she stepped forward to be toe to toe with her friend.
"Yes, he is dangerous, unstable, and will kill you if you are not careful. I more than anyone knows the dangers of the Pit," Damian stated firmly.
"Damian Wayne, I am the only daughter of Trigon," she stepped forward, he stepped back then. "I am the last Azarathian," she poked his chest then because by Azar she was furious now. "And I am the most powerful magic wielding creature in the realm, I have fought more demons than you, I have a connection to the Pit which far exceeds your own, and I am my own person. You cannot demand who I do and do not spend time as it is my choice. And if you dare to make such a demand of me again, make no mistake, I will blast you!"
Spinning on her heels she stalked out of the room as she summoned the entire shelf of psychology, purposely aiming it at Damian so he had to evade it. She felt a few hit him with satisfying thwacks as she walked to her room.
Stupid Damian!
She didn't know what had her friend's panties in a twist but if he didn't knock it out soon he would discover she had a full range of abilities she hadn't divulged to him.
Hopping up into the air she folded her legs as she levitated there, her powers lifted her tea pot as she started making some tea and she flicked her wrist so all the books floated open and around her as she closed her eyes and took another steadying break before she opened her four eyes and started reading everything there was to know on human psychology.
She would help Jason, a week of him being here and she would help him. she was determined to help him. For she knew what loneliness felt like. It was something that no one should banish themselves to. It was not pleasant. Not at all.
~~~*~*~*~~~
Jason had taken to slinking around the Tower; he didn't have anywhere else to go. And in the past week, Bruce had stayed, but Jason didn't want to be around him. No, it was part of why he hung out with Raven, and endured Damian's glares at him. Seriously, one would think he was stealing the demon brats woman with how Damian was glaring at him, not that Raven was a thing to be taken. No, she wasn't a thing, but that's how Damian apparently taken to her.
Not that it mattered, Raven was nice and all, but he didn't think she was going to be his friend.
Which was part of why he was sitting up on the roof looking at the map trying to plot his next move. There was just no way Bruce was going to take him back and he needed a plan as to where to go before Bruce decided to toss him in juvie or something.
He looked up when the roof of the door opened and his eyes narrowed on Dickhead as he walked out onto the roof. Quickly he folded up the map and shoved it into his pockets.
"Hey little wing," Dick smiled.
Jason scowled. "What do you want, Dickhead?"
"Just… Just to talk," Dick said uncertainly.
"Don't see why, you never wanted to before," Jason muttered.
"Jay," Dick sighed. "I know I wasn't good at the brother thing with you, but… if you're willing to, I'd like to give it a second shot."
"Why so you can kick me to the curb like B will when I fuck it up again?" he demanded. Jason knew what was going to happen to him, after probably figuring out how to fix his death certificate B would send him to a home for troubled boys and he'd be shoved into the system to never be seen again. He'd been in the system before, and he wasn't joking when he said he'd rather die than go back into the system.
"We're not kicking you to the curb," Dick said, and when Dick moved to hug him, Jason leapt out of reach. No, No hugging. He wasn't going to be suckered into this again. Never again.
"Bullshit!" he shouted.
"Jason," Dick started.
"You don't care about me, and neither does B, and clearly I don't matter as there's already a new Robin, and I'm not needed here! You never liked me anyway so what the fuck do you care!" he shouted, his eyes welling up with tears. "You got the perfect little brother now, so what do you need me for? To be you're fucked up replacement of 'don't be like him'!? You didn't care Dick! Why Care Now!?"
"Jason," Dick said his name and before Jason really knew what Dick was doing he found himself with his a faceful of Dick's chest and trapped in strong arms as fingers slipped through his hair. Jason stiffened as he stilled completely, he couldn't even breath as he stared at Dick's black sweatshirt.
"I'm sorry little wing, I'm sorry I wasn't there, I'm sorry I was a childish ass about getting a baby brother, and I'm sorry for messing all this up. But I cared, I cared a lot, I never told you because I was jealous of how proud Bruce was of you. And you mattered, you mattered a lot more than I could ever tell you, and because I was fighting with Bruce I acted like you didn't matter. But that's a lie, a big lie. You Matter Jason. You're my baby brother. And you're not a replacement for anyone, no one could replace you, and you can't replace anyone, and I should have said all this sooner but I couldn't, and you didn't listen.
"Please don't leave Jason, please don't go, I'd like to know my baby brother, and you shouldn't feel unwanted here. It's not about needing you, Jason, it's a simple matter of you're family and this is where you belong." Dick spoke softly against his hair and Jason just blinked a few times at those words. "I missed you so damn much, little wing, I thought I'd never see you again. I'm so happy you're alive and back."
"B…" he started.
"Bruce is happy too, so stop avoiding him," Dick said pulling away, but he didn't release Jason's shoulders. Jason glared up at Dick, feeling tears streak down his face against his will.
"I didn't kill that asshole," Jason stated.
"I know you didn't little wing," Dick assured him. And there was so much conviction in Dick's tone that Jason almost believed him. Almost. Jason would never take anything Dick said at face value.
"Why would you believe me? You never did before," he spat out.
"Because, little wing, you're my brother, and I'm going to be a better brother. Besides, as Dami's actually killed, I know you haven't, you don't have the look around your eyes. I just also know you wouldn't save a rapist who had driven his victim to suicide, when he's falling off the building."
"Isn't that murder in your book as well?" Jason hissed.
"Not even close," Dick said and Jason found himself enveloped in another hug. "And even if it was, I forgive you, I want my brother back. I want you back more than anything in the world."
"Bruce doesn't," Jason muttered in a broken whisper to Dick's shoulder as he now found himself clinging to the older man.
"Bruce is so happy you're alive, and here," Dick whispered. "It's just going to take him longer. But he's happy, Jaybird, he's so happy to have you back."
Jason said nothing now as he just hung on. A week of no one caring, no one but Raven acting normal around him. He just wanted a moment to feel wanted and normal, because it hurt. It hurt so bad, it all hurt not having anyone or anything here. He just…
He was tired of it all, as he gave up holding it in and clung desperately to someone he'd wanted to be his family.
Begin the End (2/3)
Prompt : What will you find first Jason or darkness?
A/N : Grammar… yup.
Pairing : Jason Todd x Reader ft. BatFam
Song : Begin The End
Warnings:  Swearing, blood, mentions of death, angst (not to cry)
Chapter 1
Tumblr media
And I don't enjoy to watch you crumble I don't enjoy to watch you cry
Bruce looked at the paper Alfred gave him, it was a place, maybe you were there. He was on the Batcave in front of his big computers when he received an incoming video. He didn't actually opened it, it opened itself, he was about to close it when he heard a laugh.
"Batsy, Batsy! There you are!" The joker said, his face not at the camera.
"Joker, what do you want?" Bruce said with a stern voice, (Thank God he was wearing his Batman suit).
"I want you to look at my masterpiece" He heard him said and soon his face appeared.
Bruce didn't said anything, he was watching the pale skin of the clown on his screen with repulse and a frown.
"I'm not talking about me darling, don't look at me like that" The joker said with a laugh and soon the camera was on Jason.
Bruce tried so hard not to jump on his seat and yell Jason's name. Hi balled his hands into fist as he slammed them in the keyboard in front of him. Jason was unconscious, tied up to the roof, he was covered in blood and Bruce heart ached, he looked like the first time he, died.
"Let him go, Joker" Bruce spat with anger.
"Common Batsy, for the old times" The Joker said with another laugh "But if you want me to let him go I'll do, but then you better talk with Scarecrow" Joker said with a smirk.
"Explain Joker" Bruce said, anger making his blood boil.
"You see. I have your pretty Robin here, but Scarecrow had your lil' black Batsy, oh I forgot! Your other birds are coming, so, How many birds those Batman had to lose to finally kill me?" The Joker said with a dark laugh.
And then Bruce realized, everything was a trap. Joker knew you would do anything for Jason, and your family will do anything to protect each other. Everything was planned, he had everything under control, but what exactly does he wanted?, Batman to kill him?.
"What exactly do you want, Joker?" Bruce said with a stern voice.
"I want to take everything away from you, I want to watch you crumble, I want to know the man behind that mask" He said with a dark frown and dark eyes as a evil smile made its way on his lips.
And after that the video of Jason and the Joker disappeared, seconds after a video of you appeared on his screen. It made Bruce's anger increase, he saw bruises on your visible skin, you were no longer wearing your helmet (but you still had the domino ), you were bleeding badly and you were tight to the roof too.
He watch you open your eyes and fight against the chains, he tried to call your name but you didn't heard him, so he just watch you. Screaming, yelling, fighting, blood ran down your wrists as you try harder to break them, and then the gas appeared, he heard your voice said ‘not again’ . He watched you cry and it aches him to looked at you like that, and he knew, he couldn't stay there and watch you like that.
The video was still on in one screen as he searched the place on the paper with the origin of the video, it was on the same city at least, each point far away from each other, but he knew where you were. He looked at your video when he heard a loud sound, you broke the chains, he watch your movements, you stand up, you were walking, barely, and then you screamed as you fell once more on the floor.  You tried to get up over and over again, until you found an exit.
Bruce sighed in relief, at least Alfred was right, you were strong, you didn’t gave up that easily, but, where were you going?.
Make no mistake  Make no mistake
"Are you sure this is going to work, Tim?" Dick asked as he looked at the building.
"Well, if it doesn't then... then we can figure out what to do" Tim said with a frown.
"Tim, get need something that it's a 100% not a 50%" Damian said with a scoff.
"Well, sorry, but any plan could be a 100%, so better go with this, now lets go" Tim said with a roll of his eyes.
Tim and Cass entered from a forgotten entrance first and then Dick, Damian and Steph from a window in the opposite side of the building. They turn their comms as they made their way to look for you.
They walked in the hallways without making a sound, it felt weird and uneasy, something wasn’t right, but how could it be?. They walked and walked and the thing they only found was Jason's helmet and then they heard the sound of the door closing behind them, seconds after a gas appeared and they fell on the floor, it was slowyly painful, nightmares the their worst fears came in their own visions until they got lost in the darkness of unconsiuoness, same happened with Damian, Steph and Dick.
Jason barely opened his eyes, he was tired even after being unconscious for hours. His whole body was aching, Joker had beat the shit out of him over and over again, he couldn't move at all, first he tried to protect himself and he succeeded but then, the Joker kept on playing dirty with the fucking gas, he was tired physically and psychologically, he couldn't tell what was real or fantasy anymore, he had seen you and the whole family die over and over again in his mind, he had dreamt about you, you felt so real, but right now he didn't know if that fragil figure shaking his shoulders was real.
"Oh my God, Jason" you said with a sob as you tried to broke his chains.
How you found him?, Why wasn’t anyone around the room? How did you manage to walk? You don’t had any idea, the only thing you knew is that you were in the same situation as Jason, you knew you may had some broken bones, but when you found Jason you couldn't help it. You actually didn't knew if that was the real Jason, the gas made you saw a lot of shit, so right now, you didn't knew what was happening. But this Jason looked exactly like yours.
"Jason?" You said once more, you touched his cheek and his saw you, his eyes full of pain, that couldn't be a vision.
You don't know how you did it, but you broke the chains of Jason, you tried to grab his body so he couldn't hit the ground. Thank God the gas effect was losing it effect, at least on you, but you couldn't hold your tears of sadness more, you looked at Jason's body, he was barely alive, you though it may be the last time you see him so you cried more and more, until he touched your cheek.
"My belt" he said in barely a whisper, still you understood.
You searched for his belt and you found some medicines, because, Batman really thinks about these situations at least. You tried to clean Jason and after some time you began feeling better, Jason maybe wasn't going to die, but now you need it to figure out how to get the fuck out, you were looking at every single spot on the room, maybe something that could help you or-
“You came” Jason said with a tired voice as he placed a hand on your cheek.
You looked at him, he was smiling and your heart melted, after everything that has happened, he was happy to know that you went after him and in the same time it ached you, how could he have a single thought about you leaving him?
“I could never leave you Jay, I can’t lose you again” you said as your voice broke, you couldn’t help to remember the first time he died.
You leaned and kiss his lips in a tender way, you wanted him to know that you loved him now and always, he smiled on the kiss and your heart hammered inside your chest faster than ever.
The kiss ended when you heard voices in the hallway outside the room, you helped Jason to stand up, he could walk, that was good, really good, you scanned the places faster as you heard Scarecrow's voice by the door, finally you both climbed to the ventilation duct and you hide there.
Scarecrow and other guys entered the room and when they didn't saw Jason there, they left, but you heard him said 'Tell Joker we gotta move quick with the others, now!'
“others?” you thought, seconds after you realized, well, fuck.
Jason couldn't help it but stare at you as you looked at the room. You went after him, you were all bruised and hurt because of him, you really loved him. He gave you a small kiss on your cheek and you looked at him.
"Jay, they had our family" Jason looked at you and without more conversation you knew what you had to do.
Look me in the eyes, say that again Blame me for the sorry state you're in
Bruce was on his way to help his family when another upcoming video made its way.
"Baaatsy!" Joker heard again the Joker's annoying voice.
"Guess what? I may had the answer after all! Seven birds!" The joker said and Batman saw the video.
Five different cameras in different rooms, in each one of them a Robin tied to the roof, all of the unconscious, and a bomb tied to their chests.
"Leave them alone!" Bruce yelled in anger.
"Ups! can't do that, but you could totally play a game! Which one should blow first?" The Joker asked him with a giant smile.
"Your count is wrong Joker, where is Black Robin and Red Hood?" Bruce asked trying to win more time for the Robins.
"Those two lovebirds? Well Batsy, It wouldn't surprise if they are dead now, they breathed a lot of gas and you can guess the rest by looking at this" The Joker said and he show Batman a crowbar.
Batman couldn't answer when the video began to glitch until it disappeared, and he went full speed towards his family.
"What the heck? I was enjoying that!" The Joker scoffed when the screen said 'Lost Signal'
"Anyways, Where are the other two?" The Joker said when he turn around to see his crew, and none of them answered.
"Two! Just Two! Find them now!" The joker commanded once more.
"His going to arrive in less than 10 minutes" The Scarecrow said.
"What about the bombs, are they ready to go?" The Joker asked with a smile.
"In 20 minutes, clown." The Scarecrow said while looking at the screen.
"Good, good. Finally, without all the Batfam outside Gotham, we can succeed" The Joker said with a laugh.
"And, we can kill them now, easily" the Scarecrow said with a dark chuckle.
"How many gas you put on them?" The Scarecrow asked when he saw the deep sleep in each of the robins.
"I don't know, a lot" The Joker said with a laugh.
What they didn't knew is that you and Jason hacked the cameras so they were looking a infinity loop. You found the Robins and you disabled the bombs, you told them to play along, Joker and the Scarecrow need it to think they were winning. You left the Robins and you waited.
It's not my fault if you can't comprehend That tonight's the night that we begin the end
"Why windows?!" The Joker laugh as the Batman landed on his feet right in front of him
"Where are the Robins?" Batman asked as he grabbed the clown by his throat.
"Tick-tack in their chest" The Joker said with a smirk.
"Cut the shit Joker, What's the plan?" Batman asked the Joker, closing tighter his hand.
"Now!" The Joker shout and something sting Batman's neck, even that needle passed through the thick suit making Batman release the Joker, seconds before, gas appeared, Batman tried to put the lower mask but he couldn't.
"Tsk, Batsy, I though you knew how to deal with these" The Joker said with a smile before everything turned black.
He opened his eyes just to find himself in the same way as the other's. Fucking great. He was alone in a room but with a giant screen in front of him, the same video as before. He was going to yell in anger until he saw something, the way the robins moved their head... it wasn't an actually On Air video, he didn't say anything as the Joker may his way into the room.
"Let me tell you my plan Batsy in a simple sentence. Gotham will die today" The Joker said with a laugh.
"So everything was your plan, bringing everyone here so you could do all of these?" The Batman said with a stern voice.
"Well, my plan was to turn your lil Batsy into something darker, but I didn't knew she had the balls to go after him, so I made other plan and Ta-da" The joker said as he pointed to the Robins.
"So you kill us, and? you win? Gotham will be chaos... as always?" Batman said with a lack of surprise, he knew the Joker will lose his shit.
"As Always?! I will make chaos bigger, not only we will free the gas all over that goddamn city Batsy, not only they will see their blackest fears alive... villains are going to leaved Arkham, we will rule Gotham and there will be no one to save them!" The Joker said with anger and a scoff.
"You know, you plans always fails, Joker" Batman said.
"Not this time, I have everyone here, I can kill them in seconds!" The Joker said, his expression full of joy.
"Do it then" Batman said.
"What?! You actually want me to blow your birds?!" The Joker said with a laugh.
"I want to see if you have the guts, clown" Batman said.
"Of Course I had the guts, do you remember Jason?, do you remember the first time I blow him?" The Joker said with a laugh, remembering that day.
"But this time will be better" The Joker made a signal with his fingers and the lights turned on.
All of them were actually in the same room, all tied up with his mouths covered, except for Y/N and Jason.
"You'll see each other blown and Gotham death in first row!" The Joker said with a laugh as he walked away from him.
"So, why don't we begin with the little one" Joker said as his finger pointed to Damian.
Damian's eyes went wide as he struggled with the chains that held him tight on the roof. Everyone started to fight against the chains even Batman, The Joker was laughing hard and then he stopped.
"What didn’t you blow?!" The Joker said after he realized that the bomb failed.
"The only thing blowing tonight it's you, fucking McDonalds clown!" You said as you kick his fucking face.
When the fuck you arrived? no one knew, but that kick was amazing.The Joker released the control from his hands as he saw you once he was on his foot again.
"So here you are" He said with a smirk "You came to see the end of your family?" he asked you with that insane smile.
"I came to see your end" You said after you began punching him again, this time was an actual fight.
Scarecrow appeared with more man as they made their way towards you and your family.
"Now Red!" You yelled and the chains of the robins broked (not Batman's one) they removed the bombs from their chests and they began to fight against the Jokers and Scarecrow's mens.
Jason appeared seconds before fighting against Scarecrow, the whole family was fighting against them, but you were only focused on the Joker, of course his mans made their way towards you, but common, you where the Black Robin, you beat the shit out of them.
Your brothers helped Bruce with the chains and he looked at Jason, he saw the Scarecrow unconscious on the floor, the Robins were winning and then he saw you, up fighting the Joker, you were fucking tired of that fucking clown, you wanted him dead.
"Pudding, all of this just for a man?" he asked you, cleaning his bloody face with the back of his hand.
"I can ask you the same" you tell him with all your anger as you make your way again towards him.
He tried to press his fucking flower again but you ripped it of his suit.
"What? You need your toys to fight me?" You told him with a dark smirk, thing that he did too.
"You should be the disappointment of your family" He told you as one hand made it's way to his back, which you didn't see.
You were a little taken aback, that question was always inside your head for different reasons, you had fail the code, you had kill people, you had made terrible decisions, but one thing you were sure, you did it because of your family.
In those seconds the Joker grabbed the knife he was hidden and the tried to stab you, but thanks to Cass, you knew a little about body language, so you knew he was going to do something before he made that move.
You grabbed his hand as you punch him mercilessly on the face, he was laughing as the maniac he was, but you couldn't stop, memories about Jason, how he died, how broken you was, how bad he had hurt your family, you just wanted him dead.
And then you grabbed his knife, ready to stab him when a wand grabbed your wrist. you looked at the gloved hand, Batman's hand.
"Stop" he said as he moved you aside, but you fight against.
The Joker was getting unconscious as he saw you and Bruce fight, he laugh as blood ran from his eyebrows, nose and mouth.
"No, I can't! and you can't protect him!" you told yell at him.
"It's over Black, we need to go and -"
"And disable the bombs? we did, not thanks to you, actually you haven't done anything but keep protecting him?! Why we can't end this?!" you yelled at him again, this time Bruce was getting annoyed.
"Because it's not right! You don't undestand, you are to young to do it" Batman told with a glare.
"Understand?" you asked him with a frown,
"What should I understand? That I have to keep him alive so once again he try to kill everyone?!,  for him to kill Jason again?!,  so he can kill every single one of us until there is no one else to save?!" you yelled at him, you felt anger tears on your eyes but you didn't cry.
Bruce looked at you in silence, we didn't know what to say, to he said once again, 'Don't do it'
"You don't have any idea of what it was to lose everything, you don't have any idea how it feels to being close to your nightmares again, and It's not my fault if you can't comprehend why I'm doing this. But I’m not letting MY family die" you told him in a stern voice.
When you looked back at the Joker he wasn't there any longer, wait?! what?! how?!, he ran away, but how?! You were more than pissed, you were close to end everything until Bruce stepped inside.
You turn in your heels once again to look at Bruce, but in a swift motion he placed a syringe in your neck and in seconds you fell to the ground.
A/N: Really liked this request. Kinda made it into my own though. (Not sure to write more for this, I might? Depends on the feedback I guess.)
Jason felt uneasy when he took one of the seats in the circle. They had put fluffy red pillows on the seats, some softness to make up for their fucked up experiences. Wonderful how naïve people could be… as if that’d help. He took a look at the other people, they seemed about as happy to be there as him. Probably persuaded or blackmailed into seeking help as well. He hadn’t even needed such desperate measures: anything to stop Dick’s constant nagging. “ You have to give yourself the chance to heal.” (He felt like he healed up well enough, ya know, for a dead guy his skin looked fantastic.), “ You will be able to meet people who share your experience .” (Zombie friends. Exactly what he needed.)  And last but not least: Damian’s addition that he didn’t even need hubris to bring him down just a crowbar. Eventually he grew tired of it and decided to go. He was barely there in time, but he was there. After him, a woman barged in, a lot less nonchalant than he had. Backpack in hand, and  saying ‘sorry’ to the person who seemed to be the guiding speaker/psychologist. The woman had a certain kind of guilt in her eyes as she was saying it, too. The psychologist immediately said it was no problem with a warm smile, as the other latecomer took the free seat across his.
You were still out of breath. Traffic was terrible as is but it got so much worse as you were trying to keep a busy schedule to forget about all the other shit that went wrong. You weren’t sure if it was a good idea, whether it would even remotely help you to actually throw it all out on the table. But… you could use talking to someone about this who wouldn’t look at you with pity while they were uncomfortably shifting in their chair. Everyone here had their fair share of emotional scars to get them to this place. You scanned the room while a woman started to talk. “ Each of you is here because you are battling the aftermath of dark period in your lives. Someone has abused you, and you are here with people who have experienced abuse as well. Speaking is part of the healing process. Knowing you are not to blame for what happened to you is the aim. I will give each of you the chance to talk about what happened. You choose how much you feel comfortable sharing. Please be respectful towards one another and allow the others to talk, and tell their story, they…” the rest of the explanation was lost on you entirely. You felt eyes on you, and noticed the man across the room. Jet black hair with a white streak, icy blue eyes and quite frankly possibly the most handsome man you had seen in a very long time. But from all places to develop a crush on a total stranger, this was probably not the best one.
You focused on your surroundings again when people were starting to share their names. Only one name stuck. His. “ Hi, I’m Jason. I’ve been told I may be suffering from PTSD after being kidnapped and tortured.” After him another person spoke and also shared their name and in one sentence why they chose to be here. The man smiled at you and you weren’t sure how to respond with that so you looked anywhere but at him. “ My name is y/n. I was ..” You swallowed, not entirely having such an easy time to say what happened with all those eyes on you. You naturally started to look at him again. He gave you an encouraging small nod and  somehow you managed to continue. “ I was physically and emotionally abused by my ex.” Something seemed to flare up in his eyes at those words. Not the usual pity. Not the usual shifting eyes trying to find the nearest exit. Anger. Not directed at you but at someone who wasn’t there. You wondered if it was the man who kidnapped him or your ex. As he only got that look in his eyes after your story you could only guess the second... but why would he get that angry over that? He didn’t even know you... you shook the thought and listened to the other stories. Some people had come here before, but they seemed there to show the beginners that recovery was possible. After everyone had been spoken to, she asked who wanted to share their story with the group. Everyone seemed less than interested to go first.   “ ‘C mon, nobody will judge you here, we’re all here to listen and to talk.” Her glance landed on you. “Could you perhaps...?” Your felt your heartbeat in your throat and tried to swallow. This was too soon. All those eyes on you… when you opened your mouth the handsome stranger, Jason, spoke up instead. “ Sure, I’ll go first.” Everyone in the room knew damn well she had been talking to you. But you were grateful he took her cue instead so you didn’t have to. He was still speaking to you rather than to the group. “I was kidnapped as a teenager. A typical Gotham psycho got to me and tortured me. They… got to me in time, obviously, I’m still alive.” He seemed to disbelieve those words and said them mockingly. “.. but I’ve been beaten with a crowbar and he played psychological tricks on me, I don’t want to get into detail. He tortured me in most ways I could imagine and then some, except for sexually that is. It pisses me off that he’s still alive. As long as he lives he’s a danger to people. They didn’t put enough effort into stopping him. In the meanwhile…  I have to deal with the fallout. The flashbacks, the nightmares. So essentially I got fucked over by the people I trusted, because they did not protect me as they promised me they would, and then there’s the fact I was beaten to a pulp. So yeah, that’s my sob story. Well, half of it. There’s also my deadbeat dad and my the fact that my mother didn’t make it beyond my teenage years but that’s a story for another day kids.“ His voice was laced with a mocking, devil may care attitude, but you could tell it was the truth. You were the one staring now, your gaze locked on his. He really had been through hell and back. The woman nodded and thanked him for his open-heartedness and willingness to speak first. After him, the others were more willing to also speak up. He mouthed ‘You’re welcome’ to you as you gave him a grateful small smile. You felt lucky that they ran out of time before it was your turn. Each person who did not get the chance to speak would get their chance the next session. With that promise, you considered not attending that next time anymore. You put your own jacket back on, as well as your backpack and headed towards the door. As soon as you stepped outside you felt something was off. Something or someone was watching you. Jason, you did remember his name, walked out of the door and approached you and acted casual while zipping up his jacket. “ Don’t panic but I’ve got the feeling someone is watching you.” “  So I’m not going mad?” “  No guarantees there. We might be going mad together. I know you don’t know me but will you let me walk you home? ” You looked him in the eyes. You really wanted to say yes. “ No, sorry. It’s not you it’s just…” “ I get it. Don’t worry about it. Just…” He handed you what looked like a combat knife. “ be careful.” ” May I ask why you’re carrying out spare combat knives to hand out?” ” Do you want to know?” You swallowed.  ” Next session maybe.” ” Let’s make sure you get there safely first. Watch your back. Something’s out there, I can feel it.”
You walked on and heard something again. Something creeping up on you as sudden but as clinging as a shadow.  You clutched the combat knife as you walked to your car. Someone grabbed you from the back and knocked the knife out of your hands.  “You think you could get away from him that easily sweetheart?” There was a hand on your mouth, muffling noise while you struggled to get away from the man’s grip. You were considering your options, trying to remember how to twist your arm when someone interfered. “ I think she fucking can.” The man who grabbed you was looking into the barrel of a gun. A red hooded man stood there.  “ Get out of here. She’s under my protection now. Come after her again and I will find you. “  A flash of recognition went over the guy’s face as he ran for it. You thought you heard someone curse and a shiver went over your spine. He lowered his gun, picked up the combat knife and walked over to you. He handed the knife back to you with the hilt pointed at you while you rubbed your wrist and leaned against the car door, shaken up. You instinctively clung to him, as a means to stabilize you from the shock and get you up straight more than anything else.  “ Jason?” Anyone else didn’t make sense. You weren’t sure if he’d even speak up. “ Good guess.” “ I changed my mind. ” He nodded and walked behind you towards your car.
 “ It’s him. “ You hissed in a quiet tone. “ Figured as much. Want me to get into the car or can you handle it from here? Does he know where you live?” “ Yeah, haven’t found a new place yet.” He nodded.   ” Want me to join you there? Keep you safe? If you trust me that is. “  ” Yeah. I do. “ He got into the car, looked around and took off the helmet once he was inside of the vehicle. “ What about the motorcycle?” “ I’ll pick it up after we got you home safely.” The car ride was considerably silent. You weren’t sure what to ask him or tell him. He leaned with his elbow on the armrest of the car door. “ He seemed to recognize you.” “ He probably did. I’m not your average guy. But I don’t hurt people unless it’s to save others.” You opted to just take his word for it. There was something strangely soothing about having him around. You had this feeling that you could trust him, which you in all honestly hadn’t ever had before. But you weren’t sure whether to trust your instincts anymore. “How did you stop the nightmares?” “ I didn’t.”   You swallowed. “ I get it you know. “ He looked up, slightly frowning, unsure what you meant. “I get that you want to kill him. That’s what you meant isn’t it? But it wouldn’t fix the broken pieces. “ You stared at the road ahead, lights flashing by. You continued. “You know what they told me? That hating him wouldn’t heal me, loving another might and it would break him. Because it would show him he didn’t own me anymore.” “ What do you think about that?” You shook your head at his question. “ I think I couldn’t if I tried. Not that easy to trust anymore.” “ You can. It’s fear that’s holding you back. It’s what he wants.”
“ You think he’s gone? That he will stay away now?” He shook his head.  “ You could stay with me instead. Until you find a new place. No expectations, I won’t try anything with you. Could teach you how not to get disarmed so easily.” He sighed. “ I can protect you there, if you think you need protection.” “ So what are you? A cop?” “ Not quite. But I don’t want you to get hurt and after what happened tonight…” “ I might take you up on that offer.” “ Okay, then turn right here. “
You could use a protector, or at least someone who understood who didn’t look at you as a work in progress when you were putting the pieces back together.
“ But there are some things you gotta know about me before you get into my apartment…”
Unforeseen circumstances (Jason Todd x Reader)
( By @jasonindaredhood for the amazing @maruthor! I tried to make the reader match you. I hope you like it (and that I succeeded at that). Happy Valentine’s day! )
You remembered this particular Wayne son very well, the handsome young man with the devil-may-care attitude wearing a leather jacket at a formal event was memorable to say at the least… but you had never expected to meet him again under these kind of circumstances. You looked on, arms folded and still rubbing blood of your fingers as the man in your bed woke up. If nothing else you’d managed to stop the bleeding. Jason grunted, trying to block the light shining in his eyes with his hand. “Where the fuck am I?” “ And a good morning to you too, Jason.” His eyes focused on you as soon as he heard your voice. As expected, he attempted to sit up  while reaching for the gun strapped against his thigh. “I figured you’d do that. I only let you keep it in case whatever brought you into this state returned, not so you could aim it at me.” In spite of your explanation you were still looking into the barrel of the gun pointed at you. He was obviously trying to size you up but his head  was still pounding from the night before. “ Or to trick me into trusting you.” Based on what you looked like he just decided that under different circumstances he’d probably try to hit on you, but these were by no means those circumstances. What the hell had happened? And why did your face look strangely familiar to him? You sighed. Somehow you didn’t feel scared in the slightest, somehow you knew he wouldn’t harm you, even if he didn’t. “ Hey if it makes you feel any better, feel free to keep pointing. Might want to sit still though.  You looked pretty beaten up.” “ Well, I’ve survived death so I can take a couple of flesh wounds. “ He sat up straight, only to prove a point. “ Now… who the fuck may you be?” “ I’m y/n. And before you ask I have indeed patched you up as well as I could. Thank god Google’s a thing.” He looked at the bandages around his side.   “ Where did I pass out? You couldn’t carry me far.” You scoffed. “ Thanks. Somewhere near to my house after cursing over that nobody spoke ‘any fucking’ English. Then you proceeded by telling me it looked a lot worse than it was, asking me where the hell you were. “ “ Doesn’t answer how I got here.” You shook your head… as impatient as that night you met and likely as impulsive. You wondered if it had been the right call not to take his weapons from him. “ You actually walked into my room while I was supporting you. You told me you would’ve bought me a drink first but considering the circumstances… do you even remember what happened before you passed out?” He rubbed his head. “ Last thing I remember I was in Gotham. Now I’m…” “ Obviously not. Looks like someone invented a portal gun in real life. You’re in Asia.” “ Portal gun. Gamer?” You smiled. “ Sorta, not much anymore though. Never even played that, just some Skyrim and Nintendo at this point. “
You subtly tried to close down your laptop while speaking to him. “ Hiding something?” He sat up straight carefully while you looked at his weapon. “ Look who’s talking. “ “ That brings us back to the question of the day; why did you help me?” “ What was I supposed to do? Leave you out there in the cold, waiting for whatever the hell got you in this state?” “ Most people would if they found a bloodied up guy on their doorstep. I could be a serial killer, a madman,… It’s not safe to just bring a stranger into your home. You couldn’t even be sure that blood was mine.” “ I knew who you were.”
“ How the fuck did you know who I am? ” You gestured at the red batsign on a chair. “ Well, that thing, for one, would’ve been a dead giveaway.  Before you flatter yourself, it was the only way to get to your wounds. Sorry for ruining the suit. Second, we’ve met before.” “We have?” You nodded, not surprised he wouldn’t remember. “ I was at one of Bruce’s parties, a friend dragged me along. We met there, you looked about as bored as I’ve ever seen anyone. ” He smiled. “ C’mon can you really blame me? There are more fun things to do then sit around and listen about some random upstanding citizens talk about their many accomplishments and look at you expectantly. “   “  So that’s why you ditched the party and drove off on your motorcycle? Your brother didn’t seem very amused. “ Jason chuckled. “Dick never seems amused.” He holstered the gun again. “ So you know who I am. You’ve seen my brothers before. And I’m in Asia you said?” “ Yeah.” “ Shit. How come your English is that good?” You shrugged. “Grew up in Australia.” He got up and walked around in the room, naturally his eyes darted from your violin to a pile of books on your desk. He picked some random books up and turned them around.  “ Good taste. “ “ Haven’t read all of them yet. “ “ Too busy rereading other classics?” You smiled. “ Too busy writing. “ He gestured at your laptop. “ Was that what you were hiding earlier?” You nodded.
“ Well I’m up for being a proofreader if you need one. Least I can do after you offered me a place of refuge for the time being.” You shook your head. “ Thanks but no thanks. Not exactly trying to write the next Dante or Shakespeare work here. ” “ Well if you wanna talk books be my guest. “ You grinned. “ I just might take you up on that offer sometime. Want some food? ” Before he had the chance to answer a noise from outside drew his attention. “ JASON! JASON ARE YOU HERE?!” Another voice answered with “ Keep your voice down. We don’t know if we’re the only ones looking for him.” Followed by an annoyed grunt. “He could be anywhere.” “ So how do you feel about meeting my brothers again? “ “ They sound worried I’ll go get them.”   When you arrived outside you found his brothers around the same place where you found Jason. They were trying to follow the blood trail and looked up at  you. Each of the men wore a suit which somehow seemed to connect them to Batman. It made you put two and two together in no time. Dick was the first one to speak. “ Hey I remember you. Y/n? “ You raised your eyebrows. “ You remember who I am?” Damian looked utterly unimpressed at you. “ Isn’t this the girl Jason was asking Bruce about?” “ Yeah.” You were dumbstruck. What the hell were they talking about? Tim butted in. “ He was right, she is pretty. Why didn’t Bruce tell him anything about her?” “ Because he didn’t know anything about her she came with a friend.” “ Also Jason had left the party on his motorcycle… again.”  You were trying very hard to take in all that had just been said. “ I have no idea what all that is about but if you’re looking for Jason, he’s currently in my room.”  Damian looked slightly disgusted at what that implied, whereas Tim just looked impressed. Dick was the only one to ask for clarification.  He seemed the most worried as well, whereas the youngest one just looked annoyed. “ Which condition is he in? “ “ He’s pretty beaten up but he’s talking again and pretending to be fine.” “Would you mind walking us to where he is?” On the way to your place, Dick was the one doing most of the talking. You explained what had happened, what you knew and he filled in the gaps that Jason couldn’t. They had gone after a group of bandits with a secret weapon which would be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Eventually the weapon was used on Jason and they had no idea what it meant until they had gotten one of the henchmen to talk. You noticed there was something he was still holding back. “ What do you still want to say?” “ Nothing.” “ Please give me a little more credit than that.” Tim smiled. “And she’s clever too.” Damian rolled his eyes at his brother. “ Is something going on between you and him?” “ Honestly, judging by what you just said you know more about me and him than I do. He said he didn’t remember me.”
“ It seems unlikely to me that he wouldn’t. You talked to him about something psychology-related right? You were trying to psycho-analyze some of the guests with him?  ” You grinned. “I corrected him. Read a couple of books on psychology. It’s an interest of mine, not my profession though.” Tim laughed “Ah that explains why Jason likes her. Someone smarter than him. He likes challenges.” You opened the door to your room. Jason was standing up straight, still shirtless. Now your initial concern about him was gone you had a hard time not focusing on how ridiculously good he looked. “ We were worried sick, are you okay?” Dick asked. Damian immediately interfered with a “ Ehm, he was worried sick. Not me.” Tim shoved him against the shoulder. “ I’m fine. Thanks to her over there.” He looked at you while you got a little bit flustered. “ Yeah how about I over here get you guys something to drink. Take a seat, make your brother sit down. I’m no doctor, those wounds could open up again at any moment. I just tried to stop the bleeding.”  Dick just shoved him back down on a seat while you headed to the kitchen. As you poured in some drinks and baked a couple of eggs you heard the boys talk. As usual, Dick first. “ We were worried sick about you! “ “ Relax, I’m alive. Honestly all this worrying is going to shorten your life span Dick. And as an ex-robin life expectancy is already shortened. We’d know right? ” He looked at Damian who nodded. “ How the hell did you end up with her? Is something going on?” Tim asked the questions that they actually wanted to know. The questions you actually wanted to know. “ No it’s pure coincidence that she’s here. But keep your fucking voice down, she doesn’t even know I remember her.” Damian laughed while Tim murmured. “ Well she does now.” “ You fucking told her? Good job. Well done. For fuck’s sake…” “ She took you in and you liked her before all this shit happened. You might as well ask her out at this point.” Jason sighed. “Not the dating type.” You decided it was high time to barge in. “ That’s unfortunate.” Both Dick and Tim tried to suppress a grin. “ Hope you’re the type to get food from time to time. It’s in the kitchen, help yourselves.” “ We’ll be waiting there, Jason. “ As Dick left he mouthed to his brother to ‘ask her’. Jason cleared his throat. “ So I’ve heard my brothers told you a couple of things?” “ They have.” “ In that case, want to come to our next party and ditch halfway with me? I’ve got an extra helmet and we could go wherever you’d like. Anything is better than one of those parties.” You grinned. “ I’d like that.” Jason smiled. She might just have been worth getting transported to Asia for.
Unforeseen circumstances (Jason Todd x Reader)
My addition to the DCExchange, now they’ve posted it I’m allowed to post it here too. Really hope you like it @maruthor , ❤️  (Btw anyone who sees this, check out her blog she’s amazing :) ) Happy Valentine’s day!
You remembered this particular Wayne son very well, the handsome young man with the devil-may-care attitude wearing a leather jacket at a formal event was memorable to say at the least… but you had never expected to meet him again under these kind of circumstances. You looked on, arms folded and still rubbing blood of your fingers as the man in your bed woke up. If nothing else you’d managed to stop the bleeding. Jason grunted, trying to block the light shining in his eyes with his hand. “Where the fuck am I?” “ And a good morning to you too, Jason.” His eyes focused on you as soon as he heard your voice. As expected, he attempted to sit up  while reaching for the gun strapped against his thigh. “I figured you’d do that. I only let you keep it in case whatever brought you into this state returned, not so you could aim it at me.” In spite of your explanation you were still looking into the barrel of the gun pointed at you. He was obviously trying to size you up but his head  was still pounding from the night before. “ Or to trick me into trusting you.” Based on what you looked like he just decided that under different circumstances he’d probably try to hit on you, but these were by no means those circumstances. What the hell had happened? And why did your face look strangely familiar to him? You sighed. Somehow you didn’t feel scared in the slightest, somehow you knew he wouldn’t harm you, even if he didn’t. “ Hey if it makes you feel any better, feel free to keep pointing. Might want to sit still though.  You looked pretty beaten up.” “ Well, I’ve survived death so I can take a couple of flesh wounds. “ He sat up straight, only to prove a point. “ Now… who the fuck may you be?” “ I’m y/n. And before you ask I have indeed patched you up as well as I could. Thank god Google’s a thing.” He looked at the bandages around his side.   “ Where did I pass out? You couldn’t carry me far.” You scoffed. “ Thanks. Somewhere near to my house after cursing over that nobody spoke ‘any fucking’ English. Then you proceeded by telling me it looked a lot worse than it was, asking me where the hell you were. “ “ Doesn’t answer how I got here.” You shook your head… as impatient as that night you met and likely as impulsive. You wondered if it had been the right call not to take his weapons from him. “ You actually walked into my room while I was supporting you. You told me you would’ve bought me a drink first but considering the circumstances… do you even remember what happened before you passed out?” He rubbed his head. “ Last thing I remember I was in Gotham. Now I’m…” “ Obviously not. Looks like someone invented a portal gun in real life. You’re in Asia.” “ Portal gun. Gamer?” You smiled. “ Sorta, not much anymore though. Never even played that, just some Skyrim and Nintendo at this point. “
You subtly tried to close down your laptop while speaking to him. “ Hiding something?” He sat up straight carefully while you looked at his weapon. “ Look who’s talking. “ “ That brings us back to the question of the day; why did you help me?” “ What was I supposed to do? Leave you out there in the cold, waiting for whatever the hell got you in this state?” “ Most people would if they found a bloodied up guy on their doorstep. I could be a serial killer, a madman,… It’s not safe to just bring a stranger into your home. You couldn’t even be sure that blood was mine.” “ I knew who you were.”
“ How the fuck did you know who I am? ” You gestured at the red batsign on a chair. “ Well, that thing, for one, would’ve been a dead giveaway.  Before you flatter yourself, it was the only way to get to your wounds. Sorry for ruining the suit. Second, we’ve met before.” “We have?” You nodded, not surprised he wouldn’t remember. “ I was at one of Bruce’s parties, a friend dragged me along. We met there, you looked about as bored as I’ve ever seen anyone. ” He smiled. “ C’mon can you really blame me? There are more fun things to do then sit around and listen about some random upstanding citizens talk about their many accomplishments and look at you expectantly. “   “  So that’s why you ditched the party and drove off on your motorcycle? Your brother didn’t seem very amused. “ Jason chuckled. “Dick never seems amused.” He holstered the gun again. “ So you know who I am. You’ve seen my brothers before. And I’m in Asia you said?” “ Yeah.” “ Shit. How come your English is that good?” You shrugged. “Grew up in Australia.” He got up and walked around in the room, naturally his eyes darted from your violin to a pile of books on your desk. He picked some random books up and turned them around. “ Good taste. “ “ Haven’t read all of them yet. “ “ Too busy rereading other classics?” You smiled. “ Too busy writing. “ He gestured at your laptop. “ Was that what you were hiding earlier?” You nodded.
“ Well I’m up for being a proofreader if you need one. Least I can do after you offered me a place of refuge for the time being.” You shook your head. “ Thanks but no thanks. Not exactly trying to write the next Dante or Shakespeare work here. ” “ Well if you wanna talk books be my guest. “ You grinned. “ I just might take you up on that offer sometime. Want some food? ” Before he had the chance to answer a noise from outside drew his attention. “ JASON! JASON ARE YOU HERE?!” Another voice answered with “ Keep your voice down. We don’t know if we’re the only ones looking for him.” Followed by an annoyed grunt. “He could be anywhere.” “ So how do you feel about meeting my brothers again? “ “ They sound worried I’ll go get them.”   When you arrived outside you found his brothers around the same place where you found Jason. They were trying to follow the blood trail and looked up at  you. Each of the men wore a suit which somehow seemed to connect them to Batman. It made you put two and two together in no time. Dick was the first one to speak. “ Hey I remember you. Y/n? “ You raised your eyebrows. “ You remember who I am?” Damian looked utterly unimpressed at you. “ Isn’t this the girl Jason was asking Bruce about?” “ Yeah.” You were dumbstruck. What the hell were they talking about? Tim butted in. “ He was right, she is pretty. Why didn’t Bruce tell him anything about her?” “ Because he didn’t know anything about her she came with a friend.” “ Also Jason had left the party on his motorcycle… again.”  You were trying very hard to take in all that had just been said. “ I have no idea what all that is about but if you’re looking for Jason, he’s currently in my room.”  Damian looked slightly disgusted at what that implied, whereas Tim just looked impressed. Dick was the only one to ask for clarification.  He seemed the most worried as well, whereas the youngest one just looked annoyed. “ Which condition is he in? “ “ He’s pretty beaten up but he’s talking again and pretending to be fine.” “Would you mind walking us to where he is?” On the way to your place, Dick was the one doing most of the talking. You explained what had happened, what you knew and he filled in the gaps that Jason couldn’t. They had gone after a group of bandits with a secret weapon which would be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Eventually the weapon was used on Jason and they had no idea what it meant until they had gotten one of the henchmen to talk. You noticed there was something he was still holding back. “ What do you still want to say?” “ Nothing.” “ Please give me a little more credit than that.” Tim smiled. “And she’s clever too.” Damian rolled his eyes at his brother. “ Is something going on between you and him?” “ Honestly, judging by what you just said you know more about me and him than I do.
