Originally I was gonna write smut for my birthday. But hear me out I’m gonna draw it instead!, to be fair that’s really the only reason I’m an artist.

Guess who decided to dust off their writing blog and actually start using it?

I'm Doe, She/They, 29.

I'm horribly shy online, so even though I've been reading fic and reblogging fandom stuff on my main for over a decade, I don't think I've ever sent an ask or really put my writing out there for others to read. (I do reply tho!)

I'm currently working on 4 projects:

Ashen Isles: Dark Fantasy with horror elements mixed in. I’ve been working on this world for nearly 5 years and just keep expanding it.

Siren: Both a light-hearted superhero story and a horror/comedy, depending on the character I focus on.

The Carnival: A plot bunny I’ve only just started working on, elaborating on Pleasure Island in the Pinocchio mythos, but with my own spin on it. So far, It’s just me throwing ideas at it and seeing what sticks.

Helltown: Completely based on a shock-horror cartoon I watched at 16. A rewrite of sorts, but focusing more on the horror aspects of a death-loop. Have been developing this for over 5 years, but this is somehow the project that has the fewest actual words on paper.

I think the biggest downside to having animal ears and a tail would be trying to mask your discomfort in public like imagine trying to play it cool in customer service but your tail keeps bristling

I like how dropout shows often have an almost “filmed in front of a live studio audience” effect from simply having the crew obviously losing their minds off camera

hey um! with KOSA looking more and more closer to passing, email and call your reps to prevent it from passing! especially with ~3 days (as of the 2/23/2024 update on this post) left until KOSA is decided bad internet bills is a helpful site with an easy to fill out forum that does not take long to complete stop KOSA is also another good site w/ a prefilled out message you can send (with resources for those not in the U.S. too!), and much like bad internet bills, it has an easy to fill out form that does NOT take long to complete EFF has a comprehensive analysis on the bill--and allows you to take action, helps you look up and contact your representative. your phone number is required, and this seems to be the longest of the three to fill out, but it is AS important as the rest this is very important! because this will effect ALL of us, not just usamericans! this is something that has the power to irreversibly ruin the internet as a whole

my favorite scene in all of literature is when Neil Josten wakes up in Columbia after being drugged, hurls an alarm clock at Aaron, dumps his water on the floor and throws the cup at Aaron, stuff his clothes down the toilet and squeezes out through the window, has the foresight to call Matt from a pay phone to protect his shit, hitch hikes back to campus, eyes back to brown?? shows up on Wymack’s door like 😜 and reveals he could speak German the whole time?? CHARACTER OF ALL TIME, that is a protagonist who knows how MOVE THE MFING PLOT ALONG

it's hard when you're forced into a situation with an autistic stranger (like, say, waiting for an elevator) where you're both trying to run the "how can I be a chameleon" scam on each other, and both short circuiting. it's like when ai images cannibalize themselves and start distorting into nonsense

recently, Israel sent down hellfire missiles near a hospital in Gaza, which are missiles that explode into blades that slam down and cut through anything in their way. (link)

There is a video of a man with his legs newly amputated, screaming in a pool of his own blood. I won’t share the video, because it made me vomit into a toilet, but either trust me it exists or go look for it yourselves.

There is another video of a young girl, crying silently after her legs were blown off in an explosion. She explains tonelessly to the camera man that she doesn’t want fake legs because they’ll just remind her of her real ones. She is 13. (link)

Meanwhile in Israel - they begin to enforce one of the most draconian anti-free-speech laws in history.

Israel also claims to be the “only democracy in the Middle East”.

Israel has bombed hospitals, fishing boats, schools, refugee camps, power sources, water tanks, evacuation routes. They have killed 80% of Palestinian journalists, they have killed 100 UN workers, they have murdered over 4,000 children in 34 days. Because of the lack of food and water, Palestinians have begun to die from starvation, cholera.

If you still support Israel after all this, I believe you’re completely lost. Utterly without any humanity. Nothing could ever excuse this.

In Australia, there is an ongoing list of protests planned, as well as a permanent camp out being set up in Naarm/Melbourne to block Israeli transport company ZIM from shipping weapons. Congressional staffers in the US are finally being gotten through to - in spite of their rampant greed and long-suffering inhumanity, even they can recognise when their phones won't stop ringing with people saying flat out they'll never vote for them again.

he'd be so uncharacteristically, to the media at least, gentle with her. he'd be answering questions, and sometimes letting her gurgle and babble on and on, saying "that's right" and encouraging her as if she was actually answering.

the nicknames he'd have for her would slip out as she played with the toys in the highseat he had them bring out for her. saying things like "be careful sweets" or acting surprised with her as she made a little rocket fly around.

you'd be standing off to the side, both of you looking proudly at her, and laughing when she mimicked katsuki's quirk with a 'boom' sound effect coming from her mouth.

he'd have a soft look on his face as she eventually wobbled over back to you, but since the show must go on you walked over and sat with her on your lap right next to katsuki.

you completed the interview together, getting meaningful opinions from your daughter as you answered the questions together, all of you looking between each other for guidance at each one.
