the seamstress I went today asked what the piece she was alterating was for (my Crowley jacket) and I said it was for a costume, which is not a lie cuz it is for Halloween, but I was nervous to say what the costume was.
she eventually then asked what is was and I began by asking, "do you know good omens?" while Im standing there looking like Crowley on her fucking pedestal. she get all excited and is like, "oh yes!" to which I respond with, "it's Crowley." and she is automatically locked in, going in how she loves David Tennant and he's the family's favorite doctor.
she has also put me onto the audio book version of 'How to train your dragon' which is narrated by none than DT. it's meant for kids, but she's like in her late 30's, early 40's, her kids don't like it, but she likes listening to it cuz like, duh, it's fucking David Tennant reading in his Scottish accent, and all I could think was, "oh yeah, I'm in good fucking hands."

They say the reason he didn't speak with Tennant's own accent after regenerating from the heart of the TARDIS is because he'd imprinted on Rose. If three, four regenerations later she was still running off that imprinting ...
EDIT Or maybe that's just what she thinks blonde Earthpeople's hair looks like
Something I think about a lot is how the 13th Doctor clearly has dyed-blonde hair. She has visible dark roots. This can mean two things: Either Time Lords can just... regenerate with funky, non-natural-human hair colours (perhaps like how Time Ladies always seem to regenerate into a full beat of makeup..), OR that the regeneration energy of 12 to 13 fried her otherwise naturally brown / black hair into a blonde.
Of course, the latter leads to so much potential. Does the Doctor now have to upkeep her dye job? Does she disappear sometimes for "five minutes" only for Yaz to stare disapprovingly at her grown-out roots? Has any of the Fam ever taken her to a hair salon or does she bleach her hair in the TARDIS console room with a jug of water and some totally-safe-don't-worry Space Bleach that nearly sets the console on fire when she bumps into it? Where is all the art of 13 with dark hair?
I need answers.

I'd argue that Whittaker's Doctor liked herself a lot more than any other incarnation since the Time War. Even though there was a lot about herself that she disliked enough to hide from her companions, she was the only one so far whose last words both looked forward and expressed satisfaction.
That said, what little we've seen of Gatwa's Doctor supports your premise.
I'm sorry but if you still think Ncuti was "overshadowed" by Tennant in that episode I really think you're just seeing what you expected to see. Confirmation bias is a hell of thing.
We have NEVER had a doctor appear earlier than the last 1-2 minutes of an episode that wasn't their official introduction. We got 20 more minutes of Ncuti than any doctor has had before.
The ENTIRE POINT of his being in those 20 minutes was to get people excited about Ncuti's doctor. It's not a secret viewership has been down, it's also not a secret people fucking love David and Catherine. They brought Ncuti in early compared to other regenerations and let his personality shine.
What other doctor has immeaditely known who they are after regeneration the way 15 did? He didn't spend half an episode lying in bed and the other half asking "what sort of man am I?" he was sure of himself from the word go and it's beautiful to see.
The whole thesis of these three episodes was from a production stand point was 1. Bring back David + Catherine to get people watching again 2. Remind them why they used to love Who with a classic creepy monster episode and then a Classic villain. 3. Get them to fall in love with Ncuti so they keep watching him.
If you think "overshadowing" Ncuti fits into that plan at all then you really don't understand what's going on here.

don't get me wrong, 'rogue' is a great episode, but i've been buzzing with anger since it came out because what the fuck do you mean "first gay kiss"? and this isn't just because i'm a ninejackrose truther (i am), it's because jack harkness has been openly canonically in love with the doctor since 2005. he kissed him on the mouth in 2005 and it was earnest and flagrantly queer. jack harkness has been an unkillable faggot on family television since 2005 and you WILL put some fucking respect on his name because that shit is important. and even if jack harkness hadn't initiated the first gay kiss on doctor who, then there have still been times when the doctor has kissed men. and even if you write those off as platonic, what about the fucking sapphics that all of you are deciding to ignore? what about madame vastra and jenny, a married couple. or, more recently, the very notably lesbian bill kissing heather. and even all of this flippantly treats the historical queer subtext of the show as unimportant.
tl;dr, the fifteen did not have the first gay kiss on doctor who so stop fucking saying that

Okay. Y'know, I don't think I've put it all in one place before. I hope I remember everything.
I think Davies and Moffat forgot that Doctor Who was never meant to be flashy. The problem with Chibnall's Doctor Who is not that it was mediocre, though it was. The problem was that he had the bad luck to be the first mediocre showrunner of the revival.
There was definitely backsliding from the Moffat era in terms of social commentary, Kerblam! being the obvious and blatant example.
I for one like the Timeless Child revelation and the fugitive Doctor because now I have an incarnation of the Doctor especially for crossovers with properties from before 1963. (Chibnall says he knows but won't say whether the fugitive Doctor comes before or after Totter's Lane, but the last timeless child incarnation in the montage in Tecteun's lab is the incarnation enlisted into the Division and there's utterly no reason the TARDIS can't still have been a police box before the mindwipe.) EDIT But is it a good or bad thing for the show? Does it matter? Future showrunners who don't like it will just ignore it, exactly like the half-human thing (to which I also subscribe).
As for the Doctor, I see a natural progression from the one who's beset, the one who regrets, the one who forgets, and the one who's circumspect. They've gone from needing Donna along not to die with the Racnoss, to sitting through hundreds of years of seige on Trenzalore because they thought there'd be no more regeneration at the end of it, to not wanting to regenerate because they thought they'd be starting trauma recovery over from absolute zero again. Doctor Rainbows actively wants to live for the first time in lives. The post-Time-War adrenaline junkie is gone and the cosmic tourist is back. She laughs hard, runs fast, and is kind (or, at least, is a good deal less unkind than some incarnations have been). Her last words are reminding herself to play.
I'm curious what old friends round here made of the Chibnall/Whittaker era since I was on other platforms. I had high hopes but ultimately felt pretty disappointed. I don't think it lived up to its promises of representation and was surprisingly reactionary at times in addition to just not being as good as I wanted it to be.
So what did y'all think? Like the episodes? The arcs? The companions? The whole Thasmin thing? The Timeless Child? Did you even keep up with the show or move on to other hobbies? Just haven't spoken y'all in ages, let's catch up.
