Y’know considering that Tommy is basically the main character of Doai I think it’s odd I’ve never seen any art of them, what do you guys think Tommy looks like? I want to see anything like art, picrews, photos???? I need to know

and some sitcom au shenanigans with Jinx and Clyde on the verge of throwing hands every 7 minutes and jinx being every stray cat that you feed and comes back every night to scream at you for food (in their case, it's canned peaches, but Alex made the holy invention of peach and peanut butter sandwiches to save time) he has to be fast so the neighbors won't wonder what the noise is and see an eldritch cat in Alex's backyard lol

Clara’s life for to long had been just been four white walls. Four white walls and lies.

So many lies.

The sound of music had plagued her since she had been brought to this damned facility. She had learned to despise sound. Her fellow patients had screamed and screamed to no avail. Nobody was coming for them. Whatever the employees had been told, they were convinced their screams of agony were normal. Locked in a madhouse with a monster in the same walls.

Clara had lost hope.

And then they had arrived.

An employee, conducting an interview. There was something off about them from the beginning. How tired they were, how their eyes seemed yellow under the goggles. But maybe her mind was playing tricks on her. She’d had learned not to trust it a while ago.

They were the first modicum of kindness she had seen since the caretakers had kidnapped her and dragged her into this hellhole. She was skeptical of them, but played along anyway.

It could’ve been a lie, but this place was built on lies anyway. What was one more?

The alarms blared, the lights screaming red. Clara shot out of her sleep. The asylum was on lockdown, emergency alert. She slammed her hands over her ears in an attempt to drown out the noise.

The metal door behind her creaked open. Her brain went on high alert. That never meant something good. She turned around to see-

A monster.

Tall and boney with green wings and lopsided horns. Covered in purple eyes, each one locked on her. She stumbled backwards in fear. She was about to die. Was this the Angel of death, coming for her broken mind? Her breaths went ragged and quick as it extended its claw to her.

And it spoke.

“Are you ok?”

The voice was high pitched and squeaky, identical to the snippets of training tapes she could hear through the walls. She would’ve laughed if she wasn’t so scared.

“Who are you?” She asked, shaking in fear.

The air seemed to blur for a moment, and something glitched. For the briefest moment, she saw the employee from the interview. Could it-

“What happened to you?”

“It’s hard to explain”

Clara stood up, legs still shaking from fear.

It was probably a lie. But in a place built on lies, she’d take a kind one for a change.

It had been years since Clara had been broken out of that asylum. She had tried to carve out whatever life she could in Eastridge afterwards. She would’ve left, but she didn’t have anywhere else to go.

Alex had filled her in on what had happened. Alex willams. The employee from the interview, the Angel of silence. They used to be human, but their proximity to a certain Eastridge demon had transformed them into what they were now, similar to how radiation breaks down cells and reshapes them.

How and why they were so comfortable with abandoning their humanity, Clara would never knew.

She had developed a bit of a new identity to hide from what remained of the foundation. Lankmann was dead, Alex had killed him themself (“beat the old man to death with a crowbar, you should’ve seen it!” The smiling snatcher had told her. Apparently its name was Clyde. Such a simple name for a demon), but she could never be to careful. Dying her hair and taking her wife’s last name was the best she could do (it’s amazing what living through hell on earth will make you realize about yourself).

She still had Alex’s tapes up in her attic, locked away so she wouldn’t have to touch the memories again. Her son was incredibly curious about them though, and it worried her. He didn’t need to know about velidgun or the asylum or the hell she had to go through to get here.

It was a small lie, but this place was built on lies, and she’d tell as many as it takes to keep Tommy safe.

Finally finished my design for Survivor!Alex, cuz I can't have a hyperfixation without making a shit ton of aus in my head-

Anyways, it's my little copium au where Alex is actually alive during the time Tommy comes back to Eastridge after watching the tapes, but they're a biiiit messed up.

I will go into further depth in ramble form eventually but the fact that a) the description for DOAI vol 1 most likely tells/predicts of what'll go down in the next volume, and b) Simon and Flock are my absolute fucking favorite skrunkly blorbos, I know it's most likely too early but my hopes and prayers are that the "someone you never thought you'd see again" is Simon

And with that in mind, I just think it'd be really fucking funny if DOAI Vol 2 were to open up with what is basically this but with Tommy and the Flock:

So I been thinking about something lately about Tommy Merrick

Anyone else find it wired that pastra made the chose to make the Tommy side-plot almost all out side of the videos excepted for the first part of Vol 0?

It is a very interesting chose to do this, it dose a very good job at disconnected the events of the tapes and Tommy to show time has past and what we are seeing.

With the latest information we have about Tommy is from Vol 1 Foundation Archive, where we know Tommy has been to Eastridge before and knows someone he has not seen in a long time.

Also interesting he have had no idea what the character Tommy looks like yet. Of course I can be overthink with pov characters usaily not having an appearance but still its interesting.

Also the fact that Tommy knows where the foundation was without knowing the address is another fact.

So I have the thought process that the reason we know nothing about Tommy is because they are a character we either already know or is connected to another character in some way.

( My personal head-cannon is that he is Alex's Cousin but that is just my interpretation and like no evidence )

Of course it is too early in the seirse for me to guess at the moment but I just thought I share my dumb brain thoughts.

But yeah I will be very exsitied to see where the next entry takes us when it dose come out.

Despite your increasing fear of this whole ordeal, you reach out for another tape. Instead of grabbing another crudely labelled VHS, you pull out a record. Written in almost calligraphy, it simply says "Dreams of an Insomniac" with "LyraHorrorz" written in smaller font beneath it. You assume that's who wrote the music. You hesitantly place it in the record player.

It skips a few beats as it starts to play an unfamiliar song.

Going to meeting with someone “very dangerous” after the events of the recording of Volume 1

Someone that they care about has been “hurt” by the Lankmann Foundation, in a mysterious incident that will probably be touched on in the mini-volumes

Doctor Herbert Lankmann

Founded the Lankmann Foundation in 1990(?) with money inherited from his late father (who he probably murdered)

Pays the police to hide all the unethical things he does

Has mechanical hands and screens fitted into/replacing his eyes (likely a more accurate and trustworthy version of the goggles?)

Became more aggressive, alongside the Caretakers, after an unknown “incident” (likely the aforementioned one that hurt one of Alex’s friends)

Patient 66

Lived on 45 Elk Crescent

Abducted from her home by the Caretakers for unknown reasons

Described as “about in her 30s” by Alex, shows no obvious sign of mental illness and is physically fine

Went into Room 66, encountered Winfrey and didn’t die???? (the first time at least)

Okay okay so apparently my brain keeps feeding me random ideas that I don’t know what to do with but hear me out (inspired by @spookmuth ‘s post): what if we rope kruger into this. Could line up with the “wanted criminal” thing and the “patient 66 is freed” thing, too?

Cuz if I remember correctly, Kruger’s canonical deathdate was sometime in 1996? And patient 66 isn’t taken to the asylum until around 1990… Yeah I really don’t know where the hell I’m going with these but I just enjoy putting my little skrunklies in continuously fucked up situations and proceeding to put these traumatized little weirdos into an eventual found family (ft. their 6’6 demon cat)

Also Kruger gets to do this eventually (except instead of a shining figure he’s basically. half corpse):

Kruger being the default father figure by default because one is still traumatized by her treatment at at asylum, one is a magnet for the Horrors, and Clyde is Clyde.

Speaking of which

They eventually steal a car and it soon gets so full of veldigun and people it looks like this

Yippee, finally finished my Tommy Merrick design!

Ok so like:

gremlin creature who is also a channel mascot named Clyde causes chaos in local community. People shook.

It’s called Dreams of an Insomniac, an analog horror series by hit youtuber Pastra, well known for getting kidnapped by honorary Tumblr Sexyman, Lankmann.

Norge series isn’t as popular as other things and really just started but the main character is named Tommy, cool right?

Also coming up in the series is a gaint bird called “The Flock” and a 14 ft. music lover demon named “Winfrey”. But that laters probably. Idk yet.

Don’t wanna wait for DOAI, there’s some really great analysis content on different types of video games and Analog horror series, like The Walton Files and It steals. There’s also the Lankmann ARG you can watch and learn a lot about.

Basically, Pastra is a really great content creator, absolutely recommend.

funny idea: tommy runs into clyde, who tries to eat him, only to stop and say

"hey, wait, arent you 66's kid?" and freak tommy out more

So I mite of when a bit wild on the 7th whiteboard and made a post Veldigun Timeline for the Sitcom Au based on corrupted grandpa Alex concept

The main Pov character is Tommy Merrick but it switch between him and Alex throughout the story, Tommy being the adopted son of patient 66.

Tom see Alex as a uncle figure most of the time but Tom and 66 jokingly call them pops or gran due to Alex being a bit of an old soul even though they are younger then 66.

Anyway the main plot follows Tommy not really believing Alex's story's about what happened in Eastrige and decided to sneak out at night to disprove the story's to only find out they where very real.

Tommy's pov is a parallel to the sitcom timeline with Tommy going through arcs close to the main sitcom timeline but he is on his own running away from the Veldigun.

While Alex is running around Eastrige trying to get Tommy home while trying to keep up their Human illusion to not scare Tommy.

(and maybe some other obstetrical who knows the story has not been fully thought out yet)
