Jake was sweating. 

He probably had sweat stains on the underarms of his dress shirt, and he was now worried that he was going to have to use the bathroom before James got here. Tonight was the night that Jake was going to ask for Y/N’s hand in marriage. . . even though he already proposed. 

Jake knew he was doing it all backwards. He had already gotten an ear full from his mother when they called her several months ago to tell her the news of Y/N’s pregnancy. Jake never wanted it to be like this, no, he was raised to be a true gentleman. He was supposed to court the girl for a couple of months, and then ask her father and the church for their blessing to get engaged, then there would be a big party on his family’s ranch to celebrate the engagement and then there would be a huge wedding ceremony that was more about showing off to his parents’ friends than about him and Y/N. 

But there was something about Y/N, that made Jake throw all expectations out the window. From the moment Jake saw her from across the Hard Deck, he knew he was going to spend the rest of his life with her. That moment he stepped off the carrier and went straight to her house to find her covered in dirt, he knew that she was going to be the mother of his children. That he would come home to her every single time. Every night he dreamt of the life they would have together, the names of their children, what they would look like, the big house he would build her, and the garden that she would spend hours out in. 

Jake hadn’t always had a good reputation when it came to women, and it was pretty well known. Throughout the academy and flight school, it wasn’t uncommon to see Jake leave with a new woman. There was a part of him who had spent years searching for the person to fill the void in his heart that had been festering from years of striving for his father’s attention and love. And Y/N was the person who filled it in a very healthy way. 

When James first heard about Jake’s and Y/N’s relationship, he was not thrilled. He had seen flyboys like Jake before. He knew what they got up to on postings and detachments, and didn’t want his daughter to join the club of broken hearts. He had also seen and heard the broken cries of their partners when an officer walked off the ship and handed them a neatly folded flag. James felt ill every time he thought about his daughter being in that position. 

But then he saw how they interacted with each other at the Naval ball, and Vice Admiral James “Hercules” Parker was proven wrong. He could see the love that Jake had for his daughter. And even though nothing was promised in their line of work, James knew he couldn’t stand in the way of true love. 

Jake wiped his hands on his pants for what seemed like the thousandth time that hour as he looked around the restaurant for James. He felt like dinner was a more professional way to ask to marry his daughter than doing it over drinks at the Hard Deck or a round of golf, or blurting out in the middle of a meeting (like Coyote had done with Warlock). What made his nerves stay somewhat at bay was that Jake was kind of doing this all backward. He had already proposed to Y/N when he came home from his last deployment and she had said yes. Blame it on the heat of the moment and being a hair's breadth away from death, but Jake couldn’t wait any longer without making her his forever. And she was already pregnant with his child, and James and Clara had already accepted him into their family. 

“Jacob,” James said as he walked to the table. Jake stood up and greeted James with a handshake, “Missing Thursday night football for this.” 

“I’m sorry sir,” Jake said and took another drink of his water. James eyed him suspiciously, seeing the young man's hands shake, as a waiter walked to the table. 

“Anything to drink for you two, tonight?” The waiter asked. 

“Top-shelf whiskey,” James nodded, “Make that two, neat.” 

“Oh, I’m good with water,” Jake said. The waiter nodded and went to go get their drinks, “Sorry, I’m just a bit nervous.” 

“I can see that,” James said, “Didn’t think that the ‘Hangman’ could get nervous,” Jake cringed at the way James said his call sign as if it were some sort of dig. Some sort of pass to let Jake know that he wasn’t good enough for his daughter, “What’s on your mind son? How’s Y/N and the baby?” 

“Good, they’re both good. She’s pissed, uh,” Jake cleared his throat, “Sorry, upset, that Clara won’t let her dig the flower beds.” 

“It’s not good for pregnant women to be digging in soil,” James responded, his voice void of emotion and staring Jake down like he was an idiot. 

“Right, yes! I knew that from the parenting books,” Jake nodded, remembering one of the only facts he had retained from those books, “Anyway, I uh,” Jake scratched the back of his neck, trying to gather his thoughts, “I love you, daughter,” James nodded, “A-and I did this whole thing backward and I apologize for it. My dad drilled into my head that you always ask for permission first before you do anything with another man’s daughter-” 

“Or get her pregnant.” 

“Yeah, I’m sorry for that too. But sir-” 

“James,” 

Jake nodded, “James, I don’t ever want to see a day where your daughter is not by my side. When I thought I wasn’t going to make it back to her. . . well, it was the worst thing ever. I had to make a promise to her when I got back on solid ground, and I did. And now, I gotta make it right. If you would please grant me the blessing, I would love to marry your daughter.”  

James looked at him for a moment, the silence becoming so thick between the two men. Jake felt a cold sweat go down his spine, but then he saw a smile break out across James’ face, “I knew this would come sooner or later. I was hoping for later, but,” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a black ring box, “She used to wear this around the house as a little girl. It was my mother’s.” 

James placed the box on the table and Jake gingerly picked it up. Inside sat a beautiful diamond attached to a silver band. The diamond had to be nearly three carats and had smaller diamonds around it. Jake looked up at James, tears brimming his eyes. 

“I’m sorry I didn’t ask-” 

James shook his head, cutting Jake off, “I did the same thing nearly thirty years ago,” James chuckled, “I lost my wingman and almost burned in myself. The moment I got home to Clara, I told her that I could not go back up into the sky without knowing I was going to have her forever. Then she dragged me to the courthouse that same day,” James shook his head with a smile, “I knew this moment was coming at some point in time, when 'dad' stopped being the only man in her life. The only man she looks at with those eyes. No dad is ever ready for that day, and one day, hopefully, you'll have the same experience."

Jake could only imagine the day he would have a little girl and hoped she’d look like Y/N. He could see it now, a beautiful daughter that had her mother’s beautiful eyes and smile, and her personality. If she was born with Jake’s. . . lord help them all, she was going to be a firecracker. 

“Does this mean that I. . .” 

“You have my blessing to marry my daughter.”

After dinner was over, Jake probably broke every traffic law to get home to Y/N. He smiled as he noticed the lights in the backyard were on and the sound of her giggle was in the air. He could hear the small barks of the German shepherd puppy he had gotten her as a companion for when he’s gone on deployments. Jake grabbed the bouquet of pink carnations and basically skipped to the backyard. 

“Bring it back, Steve!” Y/N called as the puppy hustled his way back to his owner, “Good boy!” Steve’s attention turned the second that the gate to the backyard was opened. Even for a puppy, his barks were still loud, startling Y/N. She turned around, seeing Jake standing there with a goofy grin on his face. 

“What are you-” 

“Marry me,” Jake said, cutting her off. 

Y/N giggled, “Sweetheart, I already said yes. Did you hit your-” 

“Nope,” Jake shook his head and walked over to where she was kneeling on the ground. Steve growled a bit as Jake got close to his mother, “Hey, I was the one who adopted you and let you chew on the seatbelts in my truck.” Steve gave Jake a look, before trotting off into the backyard, “Animals.” 

“Be nice,” Y/N playfully scolded, and sat down in the grass. Her hand rested on her growing bump, which had popped a few days ago, and had become Jake’s latest obsession to touch, “How did dinner go?” 

“Went great,” Jake said, sitting down next to her and pulling her into his lap. He rested his large hand on top of her’s, “He gave me his blessing and gave me this,” Jake pulled out the ring from his pocket. 

Y/N gasped, “My nana’s ring! Oh my god, I thought I lost that!” 

“Your dad kept it and gave it to me,” Jake said. He grabbed Y/N’s hand and took off the fifteen-dollar ring he bought at Target that was slowly starting to turn green, “Now, we can make it official,” Y/N turned her head to look at him, “What do you say, Mrs. Seresin?” 

Y/N smiled and turned in his lap so she was straddling him, “I think you should’ve told him I’m already Mrs. Seresin, but. . .” She tilted her head back and forth, “Baby steps.” 

“Yeah, yeah, baby steps,” Jake smirked as he wrapped his arms around her waist and flipped them over. Y/N’s giggles filled the air as Jake pressed kisses all over her face. Her ring glittered in the moonlight.

A/n: hii! Okay so I saw someone post that this would be a great image! So I decided to try it, (or course with permission)! So hope this is great!

Info: Basically the reader is Carmillas youngest child, and is trying to learn how to use those shoes Carmilla has as weapons. Readers genderless so this is for everyone! Reader is between the age of 9-12

By the way I tried to make all the Spanish words masculine since it goes for all genders (usually)

Your mother, Carmilla Carmine, was an overlord dealer of the angelic weapons. Which also meant she was pretty much trained to use all the weapons she makes. Your older sisters, Clara and Odette, were also trained, not as much as your mother but still enough to defend themselves.

You ok the other hand, no. You being the youngest of the family made her more protective over you, even not letting you go to close to the weapons. It did make you feel left out.

Your sisters knew how to use the guns and some of the daggers, but those were never really your true interest, it was those ballet shoes your mother wore. Once your sisters told you what your mother did to that exorcist during extermination day with her shoes, you immediately thought it was cool.

You wanted shoes like that. Maybe some like your mother. Though you knew she’d never say yes, it was dangerous, or so you thought she’d say no.

Right now, you snuck into the room where she stored all the weapons. Cases of guns and daggers lined up neatly on the shelves, bullets on all the racks. You’ve never been in the room before, your mother never let you.

You started to look if there were any other shoes that your mother could have. You found some boots with them, they weren’t your size though, you were a kid and most of these clothes and weapons weren’t designed for children. You sigh as you keep looking.

Carmilla just so happened to be walking by to do a daily check on her progress, and you tensed and froze. I’m instinct, being the child you were, you hid. Hiding behind a large shelf that probably wasn’t a good idea to hide behind.

Carmilla walked in, her steps sharp and you could hear your mother’s steps. You hold your breath as she checked the room and weapons that were shipped in. You sighed in relief when she walked over to another area in the room, leaning over a little, but that made the shelf shake…and then it fell. You gasp and froze as the shelf crashed onto the ground.

Carmillas head snapped over to where the shelf fell and saw you. Her eyes narrowed as she walked over. “[Name]? What are you doing in here?” She asked in a stern voice, keeping herself from yelling or raising her voice at the fallen weapons and broken shelves.

“I-uh…” m, You struggled to speak. Carmilla stood up straight and crossed her arms, narrowing her eyes at you and waiting for you to speak up. You sigh and stand up, your head down. “I just wanted to…learn how to use angelic weapons too..like how you and my sisters do..” You say softly.

Carmillas expression softens as she looks down at you and sighed. “Mi amor, do you truly want to use these? They’re dangerous and I’d hate for you to get hurt.” Carmilla said stern but soft.

“Pleeeeeeaaaase!! mamá I really want to! I’ll do anything” You beg your mother and gave her some puppy dog eyes to add to it. Carmilla let out a soft smile and held a hand out.

“If that’s what you want mi corazón..” You smiled back and took her hand. “But, if you want to use the angelic weapons, clean this up. Now.” Carmilla said more stern, pointing to the fallen weapons and the broken shelves.

You chuckle nervously and nod. “Yes mamá” you say and picked up all the angelic weapons. While your mother stayed and watched. She began to ask you a questions.

“Corazón? Which weapon would you like to use?” She asked you gently.

“Hmm? Oh! Uh, I was wondering if I could be taught how to use…shoes like yours?” You rubbed your arm, slightly embarrassed to admit.

Carmilla smiled softly at the response. Clara and Odette never wanted to learn how to use their legs to fight, they preferred blades. Her heart warmed at the thought of her youngest child taking after her. “Of course Mi querido, though I may have to make some of your size. So training will not begin so soon.”

You mentally sigh at that, you wanted to train right away, but knew you’d have to wait. You nod and smiled sadly. “Okay mamá..I can wait.” You say. She came over and pushed up the shelf for you.

“Thank you mi amor” Carmilla said and ruffled your hair a gently with her large claws. You giggle softly and finish putting the weapons in their places.

It took about 6 days for the shoes to be made, mainly since Carmilla wanted them to be more durable for you. She came and got you from your room. “[Name]? I’ve got you a surprise” She smiled and sat on the bed next to you, smiling softly with a box in her hand.

You smile and sit up, sitting next to your mother as she handed you the box. You open it and gasp and smile when you saw the same styled ballet shoes inside. They were like your mothers but just a smaller size. “ay dios mío- thank you mamá!!” You hugged your mother by the side and she smiled back.

“Of course Mi amor..now why don’t we try these on? And we can start practicing if you’d like.” She offered with a smile. You practically bounce up and down as you nod excitedly.

“Yes! I’d love to!” You just to your feet with the box, pulling the angelic shoes out and tossing the body on the ground to clean up later. Carmillas heart warmed up from how excited you were to use and train in those shoes, taking after her rather than using the more dangerous weapons like guns.

You both walk down the stairs, in the middle of the purple room. You looked around and smiled. Carmilla smiled down at you. “Alright [name], let’s put those on and I’ll teach you some ways to use them. But you must listen alright?” She spoke stern but soft.

You not and smile, putting the ballet shoes on (with a little help from Carmilla since you were struggling with the ribbons), and they fit snug. “Okay! I’m ready to kick some a-“ you stop your words when you saw Carmilla glaring at you softly for you almost cussing. You nervously laugh and calmed down.

Carmilla walked over and started to speak. “First of all, let’s get you better adjusted to walking in them. Stand on your toes.” She commands you gently. You nod and attempt to stand on your toes, though you only lasted about 2 seconds. “Try again.” Your mother stood near you, more firm now”

“Dang it..” you grumble softly as you failed again. Repeatedly, you fail over and over again, your mother demanding you to keep trying and trying. “This is too hard..” you complain a little as you became more and more frustrated.

“Patience Mi amor..you’re doing well..just keep trying. It’s all about practice.” Carmilla encourages softly and sternly. You nod and take a deep breath, trying again.

After a while you were able to hold yourself up for about a minute straight, you smiled and looked at your mom. “Look! I’m doing it!” Carmilla smiled softly at you and walked over.

“See? I told you that if you practice you’d get better..now try walking to me while standing on your toes.” She encouraged. “Like this” she walked across the room with ease, she held her arms out. “Soon you’ll be able to walk normally in them. And when you master that, I will teach you how to fight with them.”

You nod and smile, trying to stay motivated. You started to walk to your mother. Though you failed a lot, standing on your toes were hard, walking across the room on them…oof..even harder. But you did have you mother to encourage you along the way. You kept trying and trying and eventually did it, and you celebrated a little.

“Good job [Name]. Now we will practice more and more everyday. Just be patient alright my dear?” Carmilla told you, giving you a smile of approval.

“Yes mamá, I understand.” You smiled back excitedly.

“Good..then i will expect you to be wearing those all the time around the house to practice.” She nods and ruffled your hair gently, walking away to do her duties.

You smiled and nodded at your mother. “You got it!”. You were excited to keep practicing, you were determined and motivated to train and impress your mother. You knew it would be long, but it would be worth it.

So if you can't tell these are recreations of moments in the series where Clara is more together (And Im just gonna hold onto that ball image forever)

This is where Clara's mind is being kept watching the best version of life, note Azz and Iruma feature as much as her own achievments

Azz breaks though shouting though and I forgot to mention this in the last post but I think noting this here works better part of the reason he breaks through is because this is the first time he has called her by her first name without saying "Stupid" or "Idiot" before hand.

Ok I'm reting to figure out how this works they are in a car Azz is driving is clara in the back or is Iruma sharing the seat with her? I mean its cute don't get me wrong but the placements weird.

So anyway Azz breaks through to the real Clara by arguing and name calling. Its cute though how Iruma is watching

But finally she reaches a breaking point and starts to be honest about her feelings. She's afraid Azz doesn't actually care about her at all

Again this is just confirming that she cares about azz on his own and is afraid she's just a third wheel. (which can be a meta note on how the fandom kinda treats her) And again god this is feeling like really poly.

But Azz is having none of that.

I could not seperate these panels cause dear god. Azz states he's just as much Clara's soulmate as he is Iruma's, my heart, he's saying she's just as important as Iruma. (Do you think this is foreshadowing the two searching for an Iruma who gets kidnapped or sent back to the human world?)

Azz tsundere is going strong here look at their faces though. You know Iruma agrees too, they all want to monopolize each other.

Anyway Clara is back to normal

And they are so happy to have her back. I NEEDED to post once this chapter ended cause I'm dead my shipper heart cant take this.

Pretty much everyone is wary of Zelura, since she usually appears in forms similar to them species-wise. She's incredibly uncanny in most of her forms + most entities can sense she's concerningly powerful.

She once tried to manipulate Star Seer & even without being able to read her thoughts (because of how immensely powerful she is), Star Seer knew Something was up. Videns agreed to do a couple experiments for Zelura out of her own curiosity, but after Night Wish's conclusion she refused (partially cuz she had no more wishes to do anything else similar to it). Sidera's the only one that doesn't really care / isn't scared of her.

what were to happen if z did remember stuff from his life before?

depends on of they always remembered or if they just.. suddenly regained the memories. If they always remembered, they'd continue being Venenum's Guardian Angel, now without the restraints of "don't interfere.". this probably would have resulted in Vene being taken into zeluras unofficial Pantheon as well in order to keep Z loyal.

if they suddenly regained memories, theyd likely not really do anything. their old world abandoned them, all they need now is the Archives.

Who tried to redeem sidera and how did that play out?

Nox Ventus, goddess of redemption and .. family i think? she's Clara's younger sister & Genesis's older sister. She's the one that brought Genesis to Light Song due to Light Song promising to cure the disease that little Gene had. Nox worked as a Soul for LS, operating a ship for her until Nox died on a return trip due to the Tri-Century storm (massive hurricane that happens every 300 years or so) crashing her ship, leaving her to die of hypothermia. When Nox found out abt Genesis's actual fate, she fled to the Celestial Pantheon for help, but is actually more or less an Unaligned God.

Back on topic, Sidera had been captured by the Celestial Pantheon (Sid thought it'd be kinda fun to escape while powerless cuz of Voidbringer), and Nox tried to persuade them to Stop Being Evil. Sid legit just laughed in Nox's face and insulted her. it's where the "I do this because it's fun. I want to watch the world crumble because I can." / "You can't redeem someone who doesn't give a shit about your 'morals' or redemption" comes from :3

is everyone of other timelines?? Or just some people or none at all??

It depends? Some Timelines don't have major events that had their parents meet, or they didn't meet under the right circumstances, so they don't get together, so no child. For example, in the timeline where Drakerivelm doesn't have Any TimeWalker influence & the True Timeline, Saltator doesn't exist (TT sidera's not a TimeWalker in the way they are this timeline, so they don't have a reason to give Regina Deorum a child for War.)

will astaroth ever get their memories back?

Yep! they're slowly, slowly coming back. ;3

will there be a fight between zelura and astaroth?

Yes actually! Zenza & Venenum attack Zelura because they're fed up basically, and Zenza ends up needing to summon Astaroth. Zelura gets mortally wounded / her Magic damaged so she can't hold a truly stable form, and Zenza gets badly injured as well. Zelura survives, but no one knows where she is + she's in a somewhat different form.. I need to draw Defeated Zelura, actually...

do we ever find out what they are and where theyre from?

Nooot really.. at least, not in detail. They're from a multiverse Before, and Zelura's hunger for power and control contributed to its destruction, though.

Those would be the Ancients!

Shortly before Xerivelm's War, Xecru & Queriv gave the six Ancients (Omnia, Tempes, Nocte, Sol, Mores, and Vero) godly powers in order to create a new Universe (away from Zenza). They technically started Abyss & Salha and let their reputation as Gods spread among the two Realms, but Zenza was the one to actually stabilize the two Realms bc the Ancients were kinda bored already. Zenza's also the one to actually give the Original Pantheons their powers.

has sidera ever felt guilt for any of their actions? Is there anyone sidera has ever cared for?

They haven't felt guilt, no. As for someone they care about... I'm considering giving them an old friend or something, but it'd end tragically (Sidera killing them cuz they're bothersome & in the way)

has zelura always been the way she is now?

Not quite. Zelura used to just be very focused on Karma, giving rewards to those who deserve it & punishing horrible people. They were one of the First Incarnations of their Multiverse, so they're very powerful, but after the Realms started changing beyond recognition & people stopped worshipping her, she became incredibly controlling and power hungry.

If less people believe in her, there's less magic for her, after all.. and less magic for an entity made entirely of magic can mean death.

how tf did vizerxa end up killing an entire kingdom? Or end up being blamed for doing so?

Light Song convinced Vizerxa to betray her siblings in Light Song's name in order to gain an actual reputation and usable power. After the three Royals were dead, it was easy to reveal to the Royal Council that Phoenix had killed Lucidi (manipulated by Light Song too), thus sending Amist Memoriam into political turmoil, allowing LS to invade and destroy the Kingdom.

She was also the one to send Videns to Magia before its destruction, so teeechnically that's two kingdoms, though she genuinely didn't know the second one would happen :3

what exactly is timorós and his wife (i forgot her name-)

Timorós is the first Xealruq, or False-Demon, and is the Incarnation of Vengeance. Phúlax is the first Xekolu, or False-Angel, and the Incarnation of Safety & protection :3

was genesis different before the expirements they were put through?

The experiments went from age 6-8 so Genesis didn't really have much chance to develop, esp since she was a very sickly child. Not really, actually. Vizerxa is not the first to promise to kill LS, Light's loyal gods & souls usually kill people before they can kill LS. She didn't really care much about Mendacium's threats either.

It was during The Freezing Wrath of a God that Light Song actually realized that Vizerxa fully intended to kill her & enough of the Pantheon was on her side for it to happen. LS had intended to kill Vizerxa after the battle against the Celestials.

SOME ABSOLUTELY USELESS INFORMATION ABOUT THE SPACE THIEF literally what the title says

-> he can play the banjo! pretty well, actually. in another life he might've been able to make a career out of the talent. but he found it in his early twenties in a market on a planet known for it's high crime rates and originally the only reason he bought it was because it was one of the first things he'd seen from earth that didn't come from his abduction. it's a bit.. well, he's had it for over ten years and shockingly there aren't a lot of places that can repair it properly when it gets damaged, but it still functions and plays well, although i think he lives in constant fear of the strings snapping on his hands again. he's also recently picked up the guitar and is quietly teaching himself how to play that.

-> shockingly his music taste isn't usually things that feature the banjo, although he does like some of those genres, but his main thing is.. it's metal. he's a metalhead, but the type of metal with the folks screaming. the more intense the song and the less the screaming sounds like actual words, the more he'll like it. he's also a big fan of punk, because go figure the criminal with authority issues would like music about hating the government.

-> his first kill was at the ripe old age of 17 and it was a lucky shot. not for the person he shot ig but still. see the thing with being hired into an organized space criminal gang is that you'll probably end up facing death once you're finished being shown the ropes. his crew were conducting business and it had gone poorly, so poorly that when he saw them running back to the ship and firing shots behind them he immediately grabbed the closest pew pew and went out to give something of cover fire and was able to take out two of the ten badder guys not the most interesting first kill i know but thems the cards.

-> his biological earth family are wealthy folks in the whiskey industry. but they're the nice fictional rich people that give back because they remember their roots and growing up poor. i refuse to write rich people unless they're destined to die or they're good about their money. plus i've kinda gotten attached to gary & clara because even though they only exist in my mind and on a few pages, they're such a sweet old couple. goals, even. anyways, the abernacky family is a wealthy one and they're still offering quite a chunk of money if you have any information about their missing son.. [ nudge nudge ]

-> on the subject of noah's earth family, this is something i've purposefully left out when i talked about him before but his older brother, nick? he's a vampire. it's a whole thing. like a whole thing. i've always had a soft spot for sibling characters that just have a completely different life, aesthetic and basically everything from their more known sibling. it works because nick is absolutely miserable so he immediately fit the bill.

-> back to pointless noah things, a small list of things he's scared of that you wouldn't think someone like him would be scared of: the ocean/large bodies of water in general, clowns, dragonfruit, killer whales, eels, jellyfish-- anything that comes from the ocean really, gnomes but the garden decorations and not the lil creatures, mannequins, and the crushing fear that he's going to die alone and without somewhere he was once able to call his home and it felt right. y'know, the usual. oh, and spiders.

-> he's actually angry that dragons aren't real, he found out about them during his stint in the archive and for a brief moment imagined having one as a buddy, but his dreams were ruined when he was told that they don't exist. it still angers him to this day.

-> he will shoot to seriously hurt but not kill, if you call him 'noah abernacky.' just don't do it if you ever learn his last name, he's keeping his brother's name as his last one and he will fight about it. and he thinks that noah torrent sounds cooler, it does, i'll give him that.

-> he likes the colour purple a bit too much if you ask me, shi'p's hallways and corridor lights are usually tinted in a purple hue, the sparce detailing on her outside is also purple. anything he could make purple on board was made purple. not the lenses on his mask though, heaven forbid.

-> another creature he wants as a buddy is a polar bear, but he's kept away from those for the obvious reason that they're absolutely terrifying and would kill him. they remind him of a much more docile and friendlier creature on cryon that i honestly cannot remember the name of, it's somewhere in one of his notebooks and i'll be real i'm too lazy to look through it for the name, but i can tell you that they're very similar to polar bears, just picture them a bit longer, with an extra set of legs and sabre-tooth tiger like teeth. they can be domesticated, they're basically like the wolves of cryon.

Even if there's a ship i don't personally ship I'll probably still give it a go, I find making playlists really helps dive into ships i haven't thought about before and gives me a newfound appreciation/understanding of the ship and/or the characters involved.

Heck, I may even do poly playlists—I already have plans to do platonic playlists for more than 2 characters (namely one for Artemy & Murky & Sticky) so I might as well!

I'm thinking of even doing ones for locations (the steppe, the town, the capital, the broken heart, etc etc), or more general character-type ones like herb brides or the kin.

If I feel crazy enough maybe I'll even do event based playlists LMAO

Voiceplay Visuals: Drunken Sailor

Man I've been waiting to get to this one!

Drunken Sailor was uploaded on the 12th of August, 2023, and like the other pirate-themed video Voiceplay did akmost two years prior, it features Jose Rosario Jr! It also features Matthew Buckner (aka "Bucky") in an acting role, as the "drunken sailor" that Voiceplay sing about. "Bucky" used to be a vocalist in "4:2:Five" for a while (iirc), and he's good friends with Geoff, and even helped with the choreography for Geoff's Monster Mash video! Just like Hoist The Colours, both the arrangement and video were done by Geoff (who also wrote an original bridge for the song! (genius that he is)), and he also co-directed the video (with Tony), and worked together with Eli on lighting design. This might be one of those posts where I get close to the picture-upload-maximum and have to start counting them just in case, but still, it would be for good reason! So let's go!

Firstly, it sounds at least like Cesar is singing "hosepipe bottom", but the original line is "hosepipe on him". And despite what Cesar is implying with the wooden toilet seat, the line has nothing to do with toilets or bathrooms. A "scupper" is "an opening in the side walls of a vessel or an open-air structure, which allows water to drain instead of pooling" (according to Wikipedia). Ships have scuppers at deck-level, to allow for rainwater and/or seawater to drain off. So basically the line about "stick him in the scupper with a hosepipe on him" is about spraying the drunken sailor in question with a hose[pipe] (to try to sober him up with a dousing of cold water), in a part of the ship where the water can easily drain away afterwards.

Yes, that doll is definitely creepy, and I have no clue where Geoff got it from or what gave him the idea, but, according to Geoff in the comments section (comment from Voiceplay's channel, but it was almost definitely him who wrote it): "Her name is Clara and SHE HAS FEELINGS!" 😅

Also, the line "put him in the bed with the captain's daughter" probably isn't actually meant to be taken literally either. The main consensus that I've seen online is that "the captain's daughter" actually referred to a cat-'o'-nine-tails whip. (Not talking about the vocals or arrangement, I'm talking about song background/context! Which I've done before!)

3 Ships I (currently) Like:

Team M polycule (especially Shamrock/Tsubaki) from Servamp- I am soooooo Normal about team M polycule, completely and utterly normal I promise! (also your fics rev were what got me into shipping Shamrock/Tsubaki)

Twelfth Doctor/Clara from Doctor Who- I have so many thoughts about these 2, they are perfect for eachother in a way where they need to be separated for the sake of the world. They are too in sync. The parallels between their 'first' episode together and their 'last' still make me feels things when I think about it for too long.

Shulk/Alvis from the Xenoblade Chronicles series - I had an interest in this ship after the first game, and man my love for it only grew in the xenoblade chronicles 3 dlc story. Their dialogue in that made me love it even more. "It feels like coming home" "We won't need words will we A" and tons of others. (Also Alvis/A is very much gender for me)

First Ship Ever:

So, something that always got me conflicted- at least until recently where to be frank I'm too exhausted to care ( 2 jobs would do that to ya) is me being a kind of mono-shipper in DW Fandom. Like I do like other ships for the Doctor- like the Doctor with Rose, or Clara or the Master- but except with the Master and Martha where i think of scenarios for them-I mostly like these ships in regards to the impact they had on the Doctor- characteristization wise.

Tbh, I mostly ship him with River- surprise surprise, lol. I think it's because of the intrinsic tragedy with them. Also, because I imprinted in River- whoops.

I think with River and the Doctor- especially if you take the audios as Canon ( and I do take some of them as Canon in my head but not all)- we keep having these instances of how their life could be. Ex- with River and Four and them knowing each other all their lives. Or Nine and River- caring and watching each other grow old- reaching an understanding and being valunarble with each other ( something that is helped with River being a bit younger in the boxset. At least in my opinion. Would it be OK if I send you a ramble ask about the difference between Older!River and younger!River in my head?)

But, yeah- fate said otherwise for these two- their story is what it is and I think that's make me like it so much. Because it could have gone differently, they could have rewrote time, but over and over they chose this life. They chose each other- no matter how much it hurt.

But at the same time- the pessimistic, analytic part of me kept thinking of the fact that even of River chose that life with Four or Nine for example- they both came with too much cost. With Four, countless planets were destroyed including planet Earth. River lost friends and her family and now she probably has the guilt of all those deaths on her hearts. And the Doctor too would have ended suffering. And with Nine- well, they wouldn't have been able to be together even if they wanted to- the paradox would have been too big.

I'm kind of thankful River doesn't remember that timeline tbh- cause it probably would have been bittersweet for her- more bitter than sweet.

Hi!!! Sorry if you don’t see this (what with not getting notifs on anon, and it’s been waaaay too many months to still be checking my blog to see if I’d responded), but!! Thank you for the wonderful ramble ask! I loved reading it!

While I am somewhat of a multishipper (okay, mostly for yowzah and thoschei also), I heavily relate to more enjoying certain ships from the context of the character impacts, more so than actually (passionately, emotional-investment-wise) shipping them. I love to peer at these lil characters under that more detached analysis microscope and study how each of these relationships crash and burn. For the angst! Because I love them.

*I, too, see audios I like as canon (Missy+Monk) and ignore the ones I dislike (the Lumiat)!

Oh, those audios with earlier Doctors do add a lot to the time-tangled nature of the Doctor and River's star-crossed (heh) marriage (make it even messier, bloodier, tragic-er).

Yeah, like?? From the start. The Doctor does view most people he keeps closest like pets, because it’s safer to have that dynamic — but River never lets him view her in that way, because she knows his name, she's got more information than he does — and yet he goes against everything that's familiar to him, and decides to trust her, and learn more about her (leaving the diary, to embark on a future he has yet to live). Likewise River does see the Doctor for the dangerous, ancient beast he is — and starts out intent to kill him for it, because her whole life was orchestrated for her to hate him and bring him down — but he's also kind, and yet she goes against everything that familiar to her, and decides to save him, and learn more about him (right now it's off to archeology school!). They both take risks for each other from the jump, go against some crucial drive of themselves the day they meet each other — and as they come to know and love the other, the risks keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger (until the universe begins to quake).

Yes, the way they are tragedy is an inspiring way, and they fought for their love, against time itself…

That’s what makes the lifetimes River spends with Nine or Four as you said — or even that boxset where she travels with Five for a minute — so fitting, conceptually? Even if the show wasn’t written with pre-ten Doctors in mind. As the Doctor and River fight Time itself to be with each other, time can’t help but give them glimpses of what they could’ve had, in another life.

[there’s probably something to say here about the conception of Time that we see in Flux, but I’m not sure I’ve got it right now]

And the pessimistic, analytic part of you, is — yeah. They both fight for a future they want and can’t have. Time wouldn’t survive their happiness. (Do you know The Four Doctors comic? The Doctors are caught by timelines in choices each of them almost made, and although we don’t spend long in that universe, for the Eleventh Doctor, it’s the Wedding of River Song timeline. He had almost decided to let time die to be “linear” with River. That comic tells us Eleven was SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING IT. He almost let time die around them to live with his wife.)

I am also glad River didn't remember her future with Nine to be honest, it would be too much to give up 😮‍💨

Victoria - 4 years on

Today (May 12) marks the fourth anniversary of the first UK broadcast of the 3rd season (and possibly series) finale of Jenna Coleman’s Victoria in 2019. It’s amazing it’s been so long!

Of course Jenna has gone on to other work. As the season was finishing up on ITV, she was co-starring in a West End revival of All My Sons. A few months later she’d be in Thailand shooting The Serpent. Then of course C19 arrived (hard to believe, less than a year after Victoria aired!), and after a pause Jenna ended up in The Sandman, Klokkenluider, and other projects.

Is Victoria finished? Wikipedia’s page has it as cancelled, citing a statement by ITV dated from 2021 that there were no plans for a 4th season. I recall one article saying further production was unlikely due to C19 (which would technically put Victoria in the same company as GLOW and a few other series ended due to the pandemic, even though most other shows continued production). Daisy Goodwin, the show’s producer and writer, posted on Instagram sometime in 2019 that she’d written scripts for Series 4. And, of course, Series 3 (spoiler alert) ended on a cliffhanger.

There’s still hope that the show might return, perhaps as a one-off special. Yes, Jenna and Tom Hughes are no longer a couple - but there’s certainly precedent for exes to continue working together in TV and film, so that’s not necessarily a barrier. There’s certainly no time limit involved - Jenna could return to the role later in life quite easily (much as Judi Dench has done); in real life, Albert didn’t die for real until a decade or so after the events covered in Series 3.

But the fact remains Jenna has moved on. Maybe not into something ongoing (even Sandman S2 might only entail another one-off story, she won’t in in every episode, and The War Rooms is looking to be the TV equivalent of vaporware), but being tied to a TV series might have prevented her from taking on things like Jackdaw or the Lemons play - or whatever she might be doing next. She probably has no burning need or desire to return to Victoria (maybe not to the same degree she appears to be disinterested in reprising Clara Oswald), other than maybe the fact the series leaves viewers hanging so it’ll always remain a bit of “unfinished business” in that regard.

Her co-stars have also moved on. Nell Hudson is now a novelist; Margaret Clunie has been doing mostly independent films; Tom has been in several TV series and movies over the last couple of years.

But what we did get were 3 seasons (plus a Christmas special) of surprisingly light-hearted romantic drama, Vicbourne, Vicbert (I forgot the ship name), Jenna in nearly every scene, plus some great co-stars including Margaret and Nell, Rufus Sewell, and of course fellow Doctor Who-franchise veterans Tommy Knight and Eve Myles and, lest we forget, Diana Rigg also popped in for a visit when she wasn’t poisoning Joffrey Baratheon! LOL! I miss the show but am thankful we got what we got!

I tried just going for the Doctor, not for any plot but sometimes it was hard to separate haha. I do think I kept the intertwining. At a minimum though! Drumroll please……

Counting the children in needs episode I think he‘s the one who gets the most silly regeneration time (also since there is practically no time jump between regenerating and the story whereas for the others, at least SOME time has passes or is skipped pretty soon afterwards

Aww this is a treat! My first ever OC was a HC’d lovechild between Kisshu and Ichigo from Tokyo Mew Mew. Her name was Claire Momomiya and I adored her like nothing else. 2) Who is your newest OC Why did you make them?

Yvette is my newest oc! I made her shortly after I started playing God of War and saw Tyr’s design. After hearing what a gentle giant he was, and then seeing him in Ragnarok, I couldn’t help but be smitten. That and comparing my own height to his. 😳 He’s such a sweet, wise soul whats not to love though? Even if he is a bit of awkward giraffe lolol. Between that and general simping gutter brain, I wanted to give him someone to love and be loved by. But not by me lmao. No self insert here. But uhh my gutter brain was strong with this one because size difference make brain go brrr. And somehow these became the horniest, most mature, yet sweet canon x oc ship I have to date. Whoops?

3) Biggest self-insert OC?

OOH! That would be my sweet pea, Faline! Closest tie with her would be Florence. Although both are actual self inserts. Faline has been my longest standing Self-insert (going on 2 years soon) and one that holds most of my similarities. Including my height, build, my autism, my not-so-great childhood, trauma, and mental health. Genuinely v little difference between her and I.

6) Do you have any OCs without stories? Will you ever create one for them?

I mentioned it before but Clara is currently the one without a story. Although I’m not quite sure if you’re talking actual physical written & completed story or just a general background. I’m assuming the latter, but please correct me if I’m wrong. I will eventually give Clara a proper story, but for now she is content seeing me bond with my other OCs.

9) Favourite OC?

Oh my Gods, Nemo; how can you ask me such a thing? 🤣Just kidding I can actually answer this. My beloved Claudia is my favorite. She was such a treat to create. To go from a minor character made to push a plot point, to then being one of my biggest muses, she is a gem and a half. She is as complex as she is beautiful, and I look forward to continue creating stories for her and Darius.

13) Which story has the most lore?

Oh Gods “Saints & Sinners” by far. Ash and I have spent almost two years developing that universe. It initially started off as a silly “what-if” thing but now we have a whole world, timeline, rules, deities for every basic thing, A deity hierarchy system, Soul-bondings, rules for said deities, the reset system, etc. it used to only focus on four characters, now its expanded to following 8. 4 couples, all soul-bonded deities. It’s an incredible experience.

20) What story are you the proudest of? Why?

Hmmm probably “burn scars” as of right now. Its still in the works but its pushing me out of my comfort zone to deal with more graphic, emotion-heavy scenes. Trying to capture something like that is not easy, but considering it’s such a crucial part in Darius & Claudia’s timeline I am determined to get it right.

What are your favourite movies?

I’m not much of a movie person in general but the ones that have higher chances of holding my attention are animated films. I’m the worst when it comes to watching films. Its like pulling teeth to get me to do.

hi folks!!! summer holiday has begun for me (if we don't think about the fact that i have to study for exams i have in autumn, we conveniently ignore that!) but it is also time for doctor who series 7 (plus 2013 specials) thoughts by me. once again remember that my opinions are NOT stable and there's a lot based on Vibes haha, let's go!!

1. The Day of the Doctor (Sx1) - alright!!! this is so so fun, SO fun. 11, 10 and War are hilarious together i LOVE it, obviously i missed 10 so i love having him back, peter capaldi eyebrow reveal was INSANE i go !!!!!!!!! whenever i watch it, tom baker cameo... story itself is okay, but even if it's not completely perfect, it doesn't really matter because this episode is funny as hell and i need more 10 content in my life, such a fantastic celebration of (then) 50 years of doctor who, i think

2. The Angels Take Manhattan (7x5) - SO GOOD, timey wimey, which i always love, amy and rory's death is absolutely heartbreaking, and like let's also just take time to acknowledge rory williams because he died in this episode and he's, like, actually SO real and one of my favourite companions and he's brilliant. okay thank you. now then, let's continue, okay so the angels are brilliant in this episode and i love karen gillan and arthur darvill and matt smith and i loved having river back ofc, i always do, how they followed the book and!!! just such a great episode, i have no complaints

3. The Name of the Doctor (7x13) - really really like this finale, i love jenny, vastra and strax, even river appears, i honestly do like the reveal with clara and the cameos of different doctors, and the ending with war doctor reveal is so iconic i LOVE it

4. The Power of Three (7x4) - honestly i think this story is kinda underrated?? i LOVE amy and rory and all the domesticity in it, story itself isn't too special, but i love the characters so much, also rory's dad's cube log was hilarious to me, man i loved it

5. Cold War (7x8) - i really like clara in this, and i think the story is pretty good. i like how it visually looks, and the ice warrior was an okay villain i think, also i liked the old guy, HOWEVER my memory is slightly affected by the fact that i had a horrible headache when i last watched it with my little sister and my mum and had to keep my eyes closed for most of the episode also i might've slept/almost slept

6. The Rings of Akhaten (7x7) - we all love 11's speech at the end, i think? it is so good, the long song is beautiful i love it, i also like the kid and how clara is so kind to her, i like their interactions, overall i just like the story

7. A Town Called Mercy (7x3) - i like the story, it's not the best, but i do think there are some really great moments in this episode, man i love amy and rory

8. The Snowmen (7x0) - i like victorian clara and as y'all probably have noticed, i love jenny, vastra and strax. yeah, i like this one too

9. The Time of the Doctor (Sx2) - 11's regeneration is really great and i'll be so honest i was so sad when the cyberman head died istg it was so sad to me, also the beginning is so funny with 11 going to dalek ship with a bit of dalek with him etc, i really do often like steven moffat's humour. it's not a perfect story but i like it

10. Asylum of the Daleks (7x1) - i like oswin and amy and rory's story in this was really interesting and so sad, i love them so much man. i like this one

11. The Bells of Saint John (7x6) - i like the modern day clara introduction, it's a pretty good story imo, don't have much to say

12. Nightmare in Silver (7x12) - even i'm aware that the script is pretty weak, but the first time i watched this, it was the first time i liked the cybermen, now i appreciate them and find them interesting villains, but back then, this kinda made me change my opinion. i also LOVE the way 11 and mr. clever switch back and forth and PLAY CHESS!!!!! i LOVE IT it's easily the best thing in the episode, i always find times when shows do this kinda internal fights like the character fights against themselves or there's scenes in their minds, i love that so much

13. The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe (7x0) - see the story is actually kinda beautiful and not bad, but i did NOT like the kids idk why but i didn't, the ending where 11 went to see the ponds was so sweet thooo and i'm glad the dad survived

14. Dinosaurs on a Spaceship (7x2) - GREG LESTRADE WHY ARE YOU HERE, uhhh, i do like individual moments in this and the robots were vaguely funny, but yeah, not the best

15. Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS (7x10) - enjoyable, but not the best. i did kinda feel bad for the guy who was lied to, and i always love a story that has the TARDIS in a bigger role, also how clara got lost was so fascinating i liked it

16. Hide (7x9) - i do like some aspects of this, but i don't think it manages to be as scary as it tries to be. it's kinda boring at times and the romance felt a bit necessary, but i do think it's still enjoyable and i like how clara sort of realises how different and alien the doctor is

17. The Crimson Horror (7x11) - probably the only good thing was jenny imo, this is like probably my least favourite doctor who story, i HATE mr. smith with all my heart i HATEEEE it, all other worse stories have something saving them and making them enjoyable, in this episode i only like jenny, she's brilliant, but just. not enough to save the episode because i hate mr smith so much lol, idk it was too gross for me 😭😭

75: Luis Sera (Resident Evil 4, 2005) - romantic/crush

(specified for the og game bc ik they changed him in the remake and i have yet to play it </3)

YAY i get to be mentally ill about resident evil

after my s/i ilona powers (she/her) was forcefully retired from STARS just like every other agent, she ended up pursuing her own rogue career in anti-BOW research, since she had a STEM background from before her time in STARS. this involves a lot of global monitoring for potential BOWs so that she can study any potential commonalities among all encountered viruses to see if there is a way to create an end-all vaccination to prevent infections, known and unknown

this is what eventually leads her to learn about las plagas, a mind-controlling parasite originating in spain. while trying to look into it, she manages to intercept and contact someone called "joaquin". in order to not draw too much suspicion, she used a fake name (clara becker) and presented herself as interested in collaboration. joaquin agreed, and ilona made her way to spain so she could extract her own test subject

over time, the two kept in touch solely through email. their emails slowly started to drift, however, from professional to personal, and when her email buddy learned that she was a single woman, he grew a little more flirtatious over the emails. ilona, still getting over leaving wesker at arklay and also being dumped by jill not long before first contacting this joaquin guy, was fairly receptive to the change in tone

once deep enough in their situationship, ilona and "joaquin" end up revealing their true identities to each other (surprise! joaquin was luis all along!), and the two do tread a line where they debate risking their current deal just to finally meet each other in person. this eventually does happen, and they get to have a romantic night together in some random rural part of the village, but then once they part ways ilona gets one final email that for safety reasons they could no longer work together

that was the last ilona ever heard from him, and even as she eventually moved on over the years, she held the memory of him near and dear

15: Truffles (Chowder) - romantic/crush

i don't have anything super solid so i'll give a gist! :D

a small note of context for my s/i gelato (any pronouns) is that they ended up in a polycule custody arrangement where every week they switch between endive's and mung daal's kitchens. this includes both for work and for dating. someone along the way lost a bet and now endive and mung daal split gelato

initially, truffles was not at all involved in this nonsense nor did she really care; honestly, gelato never fought for it at first, either. both of them were content just being metamours who were friendly with each other

however, gelato's a bit of a charmer and eventually starts to fluster truffles a little with how sincere and caring they are as a companion despite the two of them just being partners-in-law or whatever. truffles does have her secret mushy side, so gelato sporadically indulging her does woo her a bit

they haven't really made anything official, but the two of them are at a flirtatious level with each other, where gelato is the instigator and truffles gladly accepts it with her own verbal affections back at them

(they'd probably eventually date, they're just in pining phase for the main part of the selfship stuff ^^)
