Hi there,

I was wondering if you’d be able to offer any advice on my situation? I’m in a 6 year t4t monogamous relationship with my girlfriend, I love her very much and we’ve grown a lot together.

Our sex life has been dry for a few years, we’ve kept good communication about this and it’s due to a combination of her HRT tanking her libido, and her bottom dysphoria. She wishes it were different and we’ve tried a few things but nothing so far has helped, and as it stands there’s very little we can do to change this. I do my best to not shame her and thankfully she’s confirmed that I’ve been nothing but supportive and respectful of her.

Unfortunately I do have a sex drive, and although I get off regularly I’ve been daydreaming about fucking others for a long long while. I’ve not acted on it but my rumination routinely consumes hours of my day, and I think that I just need to get railed in order to get out of my head?

Luckily my partner and I have never been jealous types, and from the beginning of our relationship we’ve spoken with positivity and curiosity about opening up in some way, shape, or form. However, it feels wise to start any open or poly dynamic from a point where our relationship is healthy and well so that no one is being used to ‘fix’ to our relationship, and I can’t work out if seeing other people to fulfil my need for sex outside of my nesting partner should be viewed in that way or not?

We both imagined that we’d be dating others at the same time, but as it stands our dynamic would be unequal if I’m the only one excited to do that atm. I’m concerned that wanting to explore a sex life (or maybe more, unsure?) outside of my relationship could end up hurting my partner and anyone new, and I also don’t want to treat people like sex dispensers (if they’re not into that).

I’d appreciate any advise on how to proceed in a kind way, if at all! I’d also love some book recommendations on polyamory if you have any, I want to make sure that I’m well researched before making any decisions.

sorry, I don't even think that's the meat of the issue, it's just the part of this that has the clearest answer. As long as the other person knows all you want is casual sex, it's fine to only have them around for casual sex, whether they're specifically "into" being "used" or not. It's not a kink of mine but it's still something I've done and enjoyed.

So onto your other concerns. You have once again hit upon the fundamental polyamorous virtue: communication. Whether something is okay to do depends entirely on you and your partner(s) so you need to be in constant communication about how everyone is feeling about things.

You're allowed to date someone when they're not, if they're cool with it. You're allowed to casually fuck someone without them if they're cool with it. Etc etc etc.

IF mismatched sex drives is the ONLY problem in a relationship, and they're not going to "take care of you" even when they're not feeling it (no judgement)[if you haven't already explicitly discussed this, start there], then that problem cannot be solved by any other means than you getting sexual fulfillment through other means (speaking from experience😅). And if masturbation just ain't cutting it for you, then it logically is impossible to open the relationship having previously solved this problem. If you have other problems you're ignoring because this one is the easiest to hang everything on, that's a different situation. Having said that, you need to apprise potential partners of the situation -- that you're testing the waters, and if it causes too much

I honestly think the best move here is just to tell her straight up its something you're really struggling with right now, and ask her what way of addressing it feels best to her. Maybe that's weekly unreciprocated head, or you getting a FWB, or you guys trying something new that might not be so triggering for the bottom dysphoria (there is a whole WORLD 🌍🌎🌏of possibilities, my friend), or a threesome, or phone sex, or maybe investing in one of those fucking machines would be worth it for you idk. HOWEVER, before you have that conversation, you need to be as sure as you reasonably can about what degree this is negotiable for you. Think HARD about whether you'd still want to sleep with someone else even if you were fucking her every night. Then, when you broach the subject with her, be honest. That may make the conversation difficult, but a relationship of 6 years should be able to take it. Maybe come prepared with reassurances you love her and don't want to jeopardize the relationship, though, just to be safe.

continuing my last post, here are some spacekru moments i'd like to see flashbacks about (pushing for my spacekru spin off):

- murphy's coma. that must have been WILD and so scary since no one is medically trained. the GUILT that monty must have been feeling

- raven teaching emori about mechanic stuff. i can imagine raven was doing her usualt raven stuff and emori just kinda watched from afar, slowly coming closer each day til raven offered to teach emori some things. from there on they spent more and more time together, emori learning a lot

- emori and echo bonding over being grounders in space together. that must have been really difficult for them, never having been in space before and not knowing what to expect, missing earth so much

- spacekru finding booze. i know it happened, i know they cheered, i know they got drunk as hell

- i know this didn't happen (not as far as we know anyway) but murphy learning some medical stuff. he wants to be useful and knows the smallest bit of what he saw clarke and abby doing in the past, so he takes it up to organize the abandoned medbay and try to make something of it

- emori and echo learning to read and write. i'm kinda assuming here that grounders don't read or write, but i could be wrong. i'd really like to see them learn, probably raven and bellamy teaching them. hell, maybe murphy can learn some stuff too ("first son, first to dye")

- on a similar note, emori and echo teaching the others trigedasleng. a really nice exchange of knowledge and culture

- mourning clarke together. bellamy and raven ofc took it really hard, but the others were close with clarke as well or at least knew her good enough

- spacekru haircuts! they all got nice new hairstyles, i'd like to see how the haircuts went between them. maybe the first time they were still a bit wary around each other, feeling uncomfortable with another person coming close to them with scissors / a knife

- training with each other and teaching fighting styles. bellamy and harper can teach the rest how to use guns, while echo can show them how to use swords and a bow. i'm also really impressed by how raven won from echo in their little sparring match (even if echo let her win)

- the "rules" that they made. murphy mentioned they had "too many rules", so i'd like to know what they are. we already know the "time rule" aka not being allowed to mention how long they've been on the ring for, the punishment being a chore. murphy was one of the chores lmao (i'm laughing but that's sad tbh)

- emori and murphy's breakup of course. really want to know what exactly happened and how, since they both seemed to have different takes on it

- bellamy and echo slowly learning to trust each other. i still remember the "will we ever trust each other?" "probably not" (something like that) and BOOM 6 years later they're dating

- maybe a bit more about the ring itself? i'd like to know the layout and what kind of departments they have. the ring looks pretty big, but it seems like they didn't actually have many bedrooms. after murphy pushed emori away, raven says they were forced to bunk together. emori could have chosen a room for herself, but maybe there were just only very limited rooms, 5 or so? seems a bit strange to me for such a large spaceship

- i like to think they had weekly therapy talks, so i'd like to see more about them just being vulnerable with each other and learning their stories

- just more spacekru. i love them and miss them so much. please give us more content of them, literally anything

on the topic of Sakamoto Days getting an anime, i wanted to talk about how this manga is a perfect example of a phenomena in shonen manga

so years ago i remember reading a discussion about how a lot of popular manga in shonen jump have started out as gag manga but then evolved into a serious and violent series (think dragon ball, that shit was goofy af in the start), and how in modern times its an actual legit strategy by the editors of manga authors to have them deliberately start their new series off as silly, slapstick and non-violent as possible in order to get into shonen jump, which is meant for kids (specifically boys) ages 10 - 18

the idea is that if you start off your comic grim and violent you're going to:

#1, not get picked up by jump in the first place because of how un-kid-friendly it is

#2, probably going to have that shit end up in one of the other more adult oriented weekly manga magazines and you don't want that because you wanna be in fuckkin ✨JUMP✨ baby, thats the hot ticket!

so theres been this trend of authors "sneaking" a much more grown up series into jump by doing the first year or so as silly low stakes goofy shit, hoping it gets popular enough, then sloooowly frog boiling the readers into accepting more intense and violent shit untill you're 3 years in and the current manga chapters are almost allmost unrecognizable from chapter fucking one

this brings us to Sakamoto days

i first checked it out becuas i saw an image of a chubby old man on the cover of a manga and started reading because i'll give anything a look if it promises me a protagonist that ain't a generic japanese highschooler

and it was great! it was fun! the opening gets you fucking hooked right away:

that shit is adorable, endearing and i eat it up with a spoon

and the whole thing starts out pretty by the numbers for this sorta manga. His wife gave him a "no killing" ultimatum while they were dating and he said sure babe no probs🥰 So throughout the start of the story they really hammer it in with the NO WE DO NOT KILL WE WILL FIND ANOTHER WAY thing

then theres lots of silly characters, they find some girl who seems to exist solely for the purpose of checking the "cute sassy girl who argues" box and so on. Also the whole "has a family" thing? Pretty much becomes totally irrelevant. They make it seem like its gonna be a huge part of the story, but his wife and kid might as well not exist. my cynical ass can't help but feel that the author threw them in to help get the story published because anything in Japan that has "pro family, pro having kids" content in it aimed it the young people is gonna shoot to the top of the list. The wife/kid/sassy girl got dropped from having any bearing on the plot as soon as the author's editor was sure they weren't "needed" to keep up the wholesomeness scheme anymore

AND YEAH i have to address this, they do that thing a lot of manga and anime do with fat characters that magically lose weight really fast then slap it back on overnight, again and AGAIN-

-with no health repercussions wat so ever and i hate that cus yoyo dieting BAD but fuck they do it anyways cos haha fat people funny but also EW WE NEED TO KNOW THEY CAN BECOME HOT OR I DON'T CARE WAT THEY DO EW😒

so when i first started reading SD i stumbled up its "pilot chapter". A lot of manga like Attack on Titan or Dungeon Meshi have one of these, a short self contained chapter that gets sent around and pitched to various publishers. Just like a tv show, there might be characters or situations that never appear in the main story, or the whole tone might be completely different right?

so i read this chapter:

and while i was reading it i was like HOLY SHIT THEY'RE ACTUALLY KILLING PEOPLE!!!!! HOLY SHIT THIS IS SO VIOLENT AND AWESOME!!! because at the time the main manga was still silly and all about pacifism right? and i remember thinking dang i wish the manga had been like this instead of this stupid kiddy crap

well i gots mys wish cos it turns out that that pilot? That was wat the author intended from the start. And they pulled the old "Shonen Jump Frog Boil switch-a-roo" on us because holy shit is Sakamoto Days a bloodbath now!

what the actual fuck you thought. in fact, you were so pissed you didn't just think this but you actually voiced it out. "what the actual fuck is this?" you whispered.

your friend had just texted you with a screenshot from a stupid gossip page that had been on your back for months now. it read the following: why is pro footballer isagi yoichi trying to hide his new model partner? they're hot!

the hot, bright screen seems to be burning your palms with how tightly you were gripping your phone. the short hiatus author 'sly scoop' had taken made you believe that you were finally free from the nasty, untrue rumours being spread. but, god, were wrong.

you had been out with your acquaintance isagi purely as an accident. the two of you had just happened to have dinner at the same restaurant and had walked out together. sure, it seemed like a date. but it really wasn't. you barely spoke. heck you didn't even have each other's personal numbers. perhaps you were mutuals on instagram but really he was just a friend of a friend.

that didn't matter now. this had to be sorted out. so you called. of course, he'd pick up once he saw the forwarded message of the clipping.

"hey i just saw..."

"yeah i saw it too." he sighed. it wasn't the first time he was caught up in a petty dating scandal and it surely wasn't your first either.

but it felt different this time.

like this could actually cause some bigger scandal in the near future. after all, he was a world-class football player, and anyone who got caught up in their lives was bound to be bombarded with death threats from crazy fanatics or approached by journalists at every turn. you weren't up for it.

you already found it hard keeping up with all the flashing lights and cameras. how were you supposed to keep up with this? you didn't dare check your dm requests; you were sure they had already been flooded.

"so, should i call my manager to release a statement or should we do it together?"

"see, the thing is. i need to ask you for a favour..."

"isagi this isn't the time." you shook your phone as you spoke almost dropping it on your face. he didn't really seem to comprehend the gravity of the situation. this was not the right time for dating and you had to clear it up immediately.

"please date me."

"huh–"

"please be my fake partner, just for a while. coach has been pestering us to get into romantic relationships, apparently it'll improve our football performance." he said it all so fast you almost didn't hear him. but you caught the few most important words 'fake partner'. and you were definitely against the whole idea.

"no absolutely not!?" you said that almost as a question, you were so confused, why did it have to be you of all people. isagi was a world class footballer who could ask anyone to date him (fake date, really). so why did it have to be you? you had barely spoken to each other. he was just a friend of a friend, nothing else.

"please, it can't be anyone else."

"and why's that?"

"i already told the press that the rumours are real."

it was dark outside. you could hear the thunder clapping and lightning streaked the sky. yet here you were on your weekly date. it had been about a month since he dropped the news and you would be lying if you said you didn't sort of enjoy the attention. the publicity was good for your modelling and the dates were fun. but there was this sort of distance between the two of you. it felt scripted, and it was. but you wanted something more. maybe not an romantic relationship, but something that felt more real.

you wouldn't have minded if your script included kisses and holding hands. it wasn't because you liked him. just because.

you'd never tell him, of course. it would be deathly awkward and you feared rejection too much. so you stuck with looking at him a bit longer than usual, laughing more, touching his hand, brushing his hand often.

simple things really. not because you liked him. no not at all. it was just for fun. so that people would buy your story.

events came and went. his hand would always find itself on your waist, usually stiff and uncertain but this time it was firm. like he had gotten used to you. the ice had thawed. a quick peck on his cheek started making his cheeks burn up. you didn't understand why. was he getting used to you?

it was the first time you'd stayed behind for the afterparty. both of you had agreed that keeping up the charade was too much of a hassle so you'd make up an excuse every time. but you were stuck. a close friend of his had apparently told him to "stop fucking them and have a few drinks."

he was referring to you. little did he know that there was no "fucking" going on. but you didn't know if you wished there was, or if you were just tired with a foggy mind.

so you both obliged. he drank while you vowed to be the designated driver (it wasn't necessary, you had a chauffeur) but were soon coerced too. it wasn't long before you both started giggling maniacally, cheeks flushed, and bodies warmer than normal. it was a strange feeling.

your speech is slurred and you suddenly feel drawn to isagi. you're touching him again but this time it's not scripted.

you feel the warmth of his lips against yours as he leans in for a kiss. his breath is heavy with the smell of alcohol, but you can't help but be exhilarated. his hands are gentle as they cup your face, and you can feel the heat radiating off of him.

the intoxication in his kiss is evident, but you feel like you're being swept away in the moment. your heart races as his lips move against yours.

you can still feel the alcohol in his kiss, and it makes your head spin, you're getting more drunk just kissing him.

you're an alcoholic, you're having symptoms of withdrawal as soon as you part. so you pull him in, and apparently he's just as much of a drunkard as you are.

"fucking hell, i didn't mean fuck in front of us."

it was isagi's friend again. you didn't really hear what he said, it was all foggy in your mind and the only thing you could think of was the man you were kissing, there and then.

the next morning was just as much of a blur as the last night had been. you couldn't recognise your surroundings but you could smell a familiar cologne on the pillow you had slept on.

a figure approached the dimly lit room with a tray in its hands and when you looked to see who it was you were all but unsurprised. it was isagi, once again. you could remember hints of last night and seeing as you were laying in his bed you could figure out much of the rest.

"so, about last night."

"i don't want to fake-date anymore." your words came out much firmer than you wanted. you sounded angry, when in reality your stomach couldn't stop fluttering and all you could think of was getting back into bed with him.

"you want to break up?"

"no you idiot. i want to be with you. really. not scripted. not for show. but really, truly."

he smiled. a wide, beaming smile. the only smile ever. the smile. he was smiling at you.

My backstory: I'm an entity that roams the Hotel. I happened to come to existence in a room one day; I wasn't sure where I came from or where I was, but I know my goal: upkeep on the hotel. I spend a lot of my early days cleaning up broken glass, sweeping, fixing up things left from those trapped in the hotel, etc. I spend my free time in the library reading, one of my favorite activities.

I meet Figure this way; I end up starting a weekly meetup with them where I read out loud to them.

How we meet: I meet Seek for the first time when they happen to come into the library; they usually stick to certain parts of the Hotel so I had not met them yet. They happened to approach me and introduced themself as Seek. I offered my name in return.

First impressions: I'm intimidated by Seek when we first meet. I can't really get a read on them at all and find them a bit scary to talk to since they seem so serious and cold.

Seek thinks I seem like a perfectly fine person but takes no real interest in me.

Getting closer: Seek enjoys listening in on me reading to Figure and ends up approaching me, asking if I would like to start a weekly reading session with them. We both share an interesting in reading so they figured it would be a good way for us to get to know each other more (and I definitely was not because they found me attractive and wanted to spend more time with me, not at all).

I agree to this albeit I'm quite nervous since I assume they dislike me based on their demeanor. However, once we start our reading sessions, I start to realize that they don't dislike me; they're just really awkward when it comes to one-on-one conversations. It is charming to me and is one of the reasons why I end up falling in love with them.

Meanwhile, Seek is completely in denial about them being attracted to me; sure they think I'm pretty, and I have a nice voice, and I check in on them, but it can't be... truthfully, they have little experience in the world of romance and are somewhat spooked by the idea of falling in love. Based on my talking about romance, they assume I am super experienced and that I would struggle to be in a relationship with them because of their inexperience.

Beginning our relationship: Much to Seek's surprise, I also have basically no romantic experience; all my love for romance comes from books. This is a relief to them, and after I end up admitting that I am romantically attracted to them by accident, they return my feelings and we decide to become exclusive. We start experimenting romantically, though we keep our relationship private from the others, merely announcing that we are a couple now... and being surprised that everyone was waiting for it to happen. Apparently our mutual pining was a bit obvious.

Ways we comfort one another: I listen to Seek when they're struggling, letting them vent and listening intently, offering words of comfort or advice depending on what I need.

Seek likes to find something for us to do to help me feel better and give me a distraction. Sometimes we'll go for walks in the courtyard and just talk; this can help relieve the stress I'm going through.

What we love most about each other: I love Seek's leadership. They are a confident person who stands up for themselves and is also great at organizing and bring people together. I'm not very assertive so I appreciate that part of them balancing out my own personality.

Seek loves my caring nature. I love checking in on people and doing things for them to help them out; they are not great with checking in on how others are doing, so they appreciate that about me and try to mimic me.

This was the most fun I've ever had writing anything. Oliver and Trapper are in an established relationship (I called it friends with benefits, but i fully wrote them in love) when Ollie gets his discharge papers. They start to have goodbye (farewell and amen) sex when they're walked in on by Hawkeye and everyone goes to bed satisfied.

My interest in these three has never waned, they're hot, they're probably the MASH throuple I can best imagine cohabiting long term (they've had practice) and in MASH Goes to Maine Oliver and Trapper do move to Maine to help Hawkeye establish a clinic so like, in my brain it's canon.

cherry bomb! Trapper/Hawkeye, Rated E I wrote this for Valentine's Day this year. Hawkeye wears lingerie for Trapper while they're on R&R together, blowing his mind amongst other things.

It's kinky (feminization with a working girl/john RP) but I think when they do RP/kink/a scene it's more like they're doing a bit. It's a yes-and? activity, with room for improvisation and breaks, and roles aren't set in stone.

Prom Night Trapper/Hawkeye, Rated E

My very first foray into proper smut. I wrote this for the 50th anniversary of MASH. It's a post-ep for s01e03 Requiem for a Lightweight which I maintain is the horniest episode of MASH. Not my best work but I think it's a solid entry and it helped me work through my thoughts on what their sex is like.

A man ahead of his time

This is a Trapper multiverse anthology I used to add to on a weekly basis. It's not abandoned but it has served its purpose, which was to force myself to write after considering myself retired from fanfiction for many years. I still have lots of prompts and WIPs for it in the drafts and I may continue adding to it.

I've linked to the most recent chapter, which I published on the 40th anniversary of GFA's original air date earlier this year. It's an AU where Trapper didn't leave and is there for the final days of the war. For something I wrote very hastily to make an arbitrary deadline, I am quite fond of it. It's mostly a tense Trapper-BJ interaction that resolves as warmly as I can imagine it being between them, with Hawkeye's breakdown looming over both of them.

Keep me warm in your love, then you softly leave Trapper/Hawkeye, Rated T It's all right. I no longer pine for an in-person Trapper/Hawkeye goodbye scene beyond what we got in s03e07 Check-Up. But a special place in my heart for the first piece of writing that came out of me after a 7 year nothing. And I really would describe it as having "come out of me". It's special because I don't glom onto ships ever, but I was very affected by Trapper and Hawkeye. I'm still plenty interested in them separately, but they're the only time I've ever felt this way about a ship, so it's nice to know what that feels like.

Hello everyone, it’s time for our weekly activity check! This time around, we're going to be doing something a little different so please be sure to read this and like this post to let us know you've seen it!

As everyone knows, we've all been going through a bit of a slow spell and tending to real life lately, and that's okay! We strive to be a group where slow spells aren't considered a terrible thing, and members know they're always welcome and we're here with them through it all! We're kicking things back into gear, but we don't want to overwhelm anyone who may have fallen a little behind during the slow spell. Starting today (September 3rd), we'll be giving all members a week long grace period to catch up on their characters/request hiatuses/get things situated before our usual activity checks return on Sunday, September, 10th. We've listed any characters that have gone past the activity limit under the cut below, be sure to post on them before next Sunday, and as always, don't fret if you don't think you'll be able to! Today is very much a writing day for us.

Taking a little break here to really hypeshare in response to this post, though, because it's a great prompt to introduce ourselves to you, and to catch our followers up on what we're doing.

We've got the dregs of some tea and a half a piece of cinnamon toast beside us as we write this. Our body has been really distracting today, but we're still getting some good dialogue in our current novel written. (We think. It feels good, and that's usually a promising sign. But they're meandering a bit, and we need to kick them into the deep end of the plot by the end of the chapter.)

So.

I'm Fenmere (she/her), and I started life as a teenager poet and then delved into the world of webcomic authorship when we were 24. Now I'm kind of an editor? And the lead blogger for the rest of us.

When I say "the rest of us" what I mean is this.

Collectively we're named the Inmara (they/them - and just "Inmara" in second person, when addressing us).

We've wanted to be a writer since we were 14. And we've kind of failed at that, because, instead, it turns out that we grew up to be a whole bunch of fictional and non-fictional characters who kind of have to do the writing for ourselves.

It happens sometimes.

There is one physical body, but there is no one author here. For each book we write, there is a lead who tries to keep the prose true to their own voice and tries to choose where the book will go. But, also, each book ends up being written like an improv exercise or a table top role playing game.

Which is great, because, Hailing Scales do we love playing games like that!

Since we got burnt out on comics and doing illustrations in 2015, we took a few years to recover and then started writing prose instead. And while we end up taking big breaks between furiously intense writing sessions, we are averaging about three novels a year. The first year might be an outlier, and it might be more like two.

Except then there's this year, where we're working on our third novel, and have plans for a fourth or fifth.

Anyway, what we don't do much of is marketing.

We've worked in marketing and we hate it.

So far, we've only been putting our novels up on our own website, free to read, because, well, of all sorts of reasons.

But, this year, we've got a trilogy we've held back in order to start submitting to publishers. But we're also thinking about, if a publisher or agent doesn't bite by July (which they PROBABLY won't), going with a more dedicated self publishing route.

If we do that, we're going to use lulu dot com for printing, and have a release date of July 31st (hopefully), and have all three of those books for sale then with covers and all, but also start releasing them chapter by chapter on our website on a weekly or twice a week basis.

Money isn't the object so much as getting a few printed copies into the hands of a few dedicated readers, and getting the word out that there are these books to read online.

Because our books are written for queer, neurodivergent plural systems. Something for people like us that's just delightful to read. But we get the sense that we're just going to get so much hate mail if it gets more exposed than just to the handful of people who follow us on Tumblr and Facebook. Because that tends to happen with people like us.

On the other hand, we're willing to risk more exposure at this point, this year specifically, to get more of our books in print. Because things feel like they are getting scary in a way they never have before, and we want to make sure there are ample backups out there.

Sorry to ramble into darkness there, but it is a legitimate worry we have.

In any case. One of the biggest things we've been struggling with is getting anyone to edit our work.

We're left with just rereading our stories over and over and weeding out the problems on our own.

Being plural maybe makes this more possible for us than for some, because after just a couple weeks of doing something different, one of our books can feel like someone else wrote it and we have a lot less attachment to any of it. And parts surprise us, too. Amnesia can be handy that way, when it's not getting in the way of keeping continuity consistent.

Anyway, at the moment, in our current book, Näofregbi and Binwen are discussing whether or not they should skip town to draw the attention and influence of the trickster spirit Mau (@ohthatphage) away from their neighbors and friends. Mau/Phage is writing the book in its own voice, narrating it while also tormenting these two. It's the first book we've written that has a conflict between two parties of characters throughout the whole story from the beginning, and where the narrator is the antagonist!

I'm very interested to see where it goes, so we'll get back to that now.

I had to figure out what I was writing today because I had no goddamned clue. Ollie is going to talk to Scott and Edgar about some stuff. They're going to share some poetry. The perspective will shift to Scott and I will once again have no clue what to do next but that is Future Clove's Problem.

Are you writing with me? Do you have a plan while you play in the grass with your toys, or are you just rolling around in the dirt like me? Either way you're in good company. Even if you're too tired to play today and you'd just rather watch.

My primary goal for today is to remember to eat lunch because I did definitely forget to do that last time. Oops.

3 ships: This changes like...all the time. Wave something shiny and pretty and vaguely antagonistic at me and I'm pretty much yours.

I rewatched Top Gun Maverick over the weekend and even though the point of The Hard Deck intro was to establish that they all knew each other carnally, I'm feeling very into Hangman/Phoenix at the moment because who doesn't love a pairing with two extremely attractive people being shitheads to each other while secretly wanting to bone?

I feel a flare up of "why didn't Grace and Daniel make out in Ready Or Not?" at least once a month so that's still a thing, I guess. Adam Brody deserves better than being a second tier character in those dumb Shazam movies.

I miss seeing Kyle Valenti's face every week for two minutes an episode on Roswell, New Mexico so I am still extremely bitter that my garbage CW show got cancelled (except that I genuinely believe the first season was stellar and not just because every music cue was from the 90s) and after four seasons of wanting someone to love Kyle Valenti back, we fiiiiiiiinally got Kyle and Isobel getting together in the last episode after a season of secret and not so secret pining only so they could have...one minute of screen time together in which they...didn't even kiss? THANKS FOR DEPRIVING ME OF ALL THE NICE THINGS. Am I ever going to stop being bitter over not getting to see them date or make out or do all the things that Lily Cowles probably put up on her vision board? NO, I WILL NOT. Get them booked and busy!!!!

1st ever ship: I can't think that far back! I'm sure there were many before this but off the top of my head, my first thought after "I'm too ancient to remember this" was that Tommy and Kimberly in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers ruled. Remember the proverbial water cooler discussions in elementary school when they introduced the green ranger? SPECTACULAR. Ah, back in the days when we thought some dude using a flute to summon a robot dragon was the height of being a bad ass. (Side note: the Power Rangers movie with Dacre Montgomery and Naomi Scott doesn't get enough credit for being a really good time. They teased a sequel that will never happen because not enough people recognize a good reboot!!!)

last song: Last week, I was inexplicably listening to A LOT of Dave Matthews Band live performances. I guess the inexplicable bit is that last week Spotify's Discover Weekly decided to randomly put a Stevie Nicks cover of "Crash Into Me" on my playlist, which sent me into a DMB spiral - I know this is deeply uncool because anyone who was alive in the 90s heard that song at least once a day for YEARS on the radio so we are all hardwired to roll our eyes at them, but this spiral led me to this (in which the late great LeRoi Moore's sax solo is the closest I will ever come to understanding Damien Chazelle's obsession with jazz) and, even more spectacularly, this, which is worth even listening to in the background. But actually none of that is what I've been listening to more recently. I was on call the other night and the only thing that got me through 48 hours on 4 hours of sleep was Tina Turner, particularly "Nutbush City Limits."

last movie: I watched Breathe (2014; dir. Mélanie Laurent) last night and it was SO GOOD! Highly recommend! It was also refreshing to watch a movie that wasn't two hours long. Bring back 90-100 minute movies!

currently watching: About to watch the pilot of Mayfair Witches even though Alexandra Daddario has the acting range of a beautiful block of wood, but I'm in the intersection of AMC's venn diagram of "bitches who miss Interview With The Vampire" and "bitches who miss Jack Huston's face."

Dad!Levi headcanons (2/2)

Characters: Levi x fem!reader

Levi as a newborn baby's father:

Definitely a mess. Other than caring for his wife, he now has another baby to care for. Waking up at hourly intervals to feed the baby was tough; Levi can't even have a good night's sleep since the baby kept crying, and he still has to work. He can't even get the milk to the right temperature. Levi felt like he had the short end of the stick

But then, he thought of his wife: the arduous hours in the delivery room in pain delivering the baby, her body aches, the hair loss, the soreness of her breasts from feeding the baby, the emotional roller coaster ride she's experiencing. Levi looks at his sleeping wife and thinks to himself, this is nothing. I can do better

As his wife's post-natal blues got more serious, Levi decides to take paternity leave from work. He wanted to spend more time with them, watching his baby achieve different milestones: their baby's first attempt in turning on their back, learning to sit upright, their first tooth growing. Levi kept teaching his baby to say "daddy"

The baby's first word was "mama", but no, he wasn't jealous, because a few minutes later he thought he heard the baby mutter "dada", which was good enough for him

Levi as a toddler's father (1 - 3 years old):

When he returns home from work, Levi always makes time to play with his child. While his wife took care of the baby in the day, it was Levi's turn at night.

Levi is the kind of father who would take loads of pictures of his child. Whether the child is crawling around, learning to walk, playing with food etc, Levi is always there with his camera ready to take photos.

Levi tries to put all the knowledge he read from pregnancy and parenting books to good use, however he realises that there is no such thing as a fool-proof plan. His child is unique, and he shouldn't depend so much on these books.

Levi learns that his child is really inquisitive during this developmental stage, so Levi tries his best to always answer his child's questions.

Levi as a young child's father (3 - 6 years old):

As his child begins their nursery and kindergarten education, Levi tries to always be there for them. He would send them to and from school, and bring them to buy a snack on the way home.

"Hey kiddo, should we get that for Mummy?" Levi would ask his child if they see something nice, be it some chocolates, a flower, or a new hair accessory.

Instead of letting his child play computer games, Levi brings his child out for play dates. Weekly trips to the beach, picnic dates, trips to the zoo, the parks, the library and so on. He wants his child to experience the world with their senses, and not just through the computer screen.

Levi would also buy his child many books, because he believes that knowledge comes from reading too (which is definitely influenced by Hange and Erwin).

Levi as a school aged child's father (7 - 12 years old):

As his child grows up, Levi is trying to convince himself that his child is no longer a baby, and they need to learn to be independent. He still tries to send his child to school whenever possible. However, on certain days, he would let them try going to and from school alone.

Levi definitely helps out with the school work, although he tries his very best not to indulge his child too much. "Stop letting them watch so much TV, love, they're far from finishing their homework," his wife would definitely nag at him, clicking her tongue with disapproval. Levi tends to give his child breaks too often, especially when they're doing their homework.

Levi is always busy with work, and time spent bonding with his child is always limited. Therefore, Levi always tries to make his child happy, to let them know that even though Daddy might not spend a lot of time with them, Daddy always loves them.

Levi as a adolescent's father (13 - 19 years old):

Levi learns that his child is undergoing "that phase" in their lives. He tries to be understanding, and gives them the privacy and space they need.

He'll still be a strict father, but he would leave the disciplining to his wife. He'll give his child the autonomy they need, and he'll be the '"cool dad" that all his children's friends are envious of.

Levi used to believe that punishment is the way to instill discipline and obedience, but after having children of his own, he thoroughly rejects the idea of punishing them. Although he lets his wife do the disciplining, Levi constantly reminds her not to be too fierce with the children.

If Levi had a son, this would be the best time to give them the sex ed talk. He would definitely tell them not to bully anyone, and to not stick their dick into anyone. Also, he would always reinforce to his son to stay away from anything that is illegal, and to watch out for himself.

If Levi had a daughter, he'll let his wife give the talk. But, as a protective dad, Levi constantly tells his daughter to be careful of and take care of herself.

"Break her heart, and I'll break your neck," Levi tells his daughter's suitors. They all ended up leaving 'Princess Ackerman' alone.

Levi also reinforces to his children that "no matter where you are or how late it is, call me, and I will be there".

Levi as a young adult's father (20 years and above):

As his children grow older, starts working, and find their respective partners, Levi starts feeling a little lonely. Levi also start experiencing his midlife crisis. He still looks dashing with greying hairs and slight wrinkles around his eyes though, and women still eye him up and down every time he's out with his wife.

He spends his days hard at work and slowly preparing himself for his eventual retirement years later. He misses his children, but he knows that they are all working very hard for their own future.

Levi created social media accounts just to keep track of his children's lives. Although he isn't really tech-savvy, he loves being able to see his children, even thought it is through a mobile device. His favourite one is Instagram, and with the help of his wife, Levi posts occasional snippets of his life.

His children may have moved out, and Levi may not say it upfront, but he's always the happiest when his children visit him and his wife back at the family home. He will remind his wife to always prepare their favourite dishes.

Levi as a grandfather:

He may be old and needs a walking stick or a wheelchair, but this does not stop Levi from bonding with his grandchildren. Levi pampers his grandchildren so much that his wife starts nagging at him again, even in her old age. And like how he raised his children, he would buy his grandchildren many books too.

His children are doing well with their family and career, his grandchildren are active and healthy, his wife is also still by his side daily; Levi feels like he is the most fortunate and luckiest person alive.

With a lot of time on his hands, Levi plans to go on a trip with his wife; to thank her for giving him this happiness he's experiencing, for her unconditional love, for all the years of dedication and love to raise their family.

As cheesy as it sounds, Levi really wishes to renew his wedding vows with his wife too. Even though his hair is grey and he has a belly, his undying love for her still burns strong. His children and grandchildren are there to witness the moment, and for the second time in his life, Levi once again sheds tears of joy.

In his dying moments, Levi thinks about all that he has achieved in life. He thinks about his mother, his beloved wife, and his closest friends. Are they proud of him, and how far he has come? And what would his children and grandchildren think of him, would they miss him if he was gone?

Levi couldn't have asked for a better opportunity in life than this. Before treating death like an old friend, he has a smile on his face, and leaves this world with no regrets.

It's Friday and I miss you guys a lot.” The man on the screen shows his toothy sweet smile, totally different from the charisma he can pull off in real life. You smile behind the camera as you sit back on the sofa behind the camera to watch your boyfriend does his weekly cam show which was the reason you first met him. You were a regular subscriber to his cam show where he acts like a sweet charming dreamy boyfriend every Friday evening. You were lucky to win one of his special lottery “a date with TY". You enter the lottery without much thought thinking your luck is not good enough to win. But well you won it and from one date to another coffee meet up and more hang outs. To first dates and first visits and voila you are his lover now. You click with him in so many ways, including those you'd rather keep secret in public.

“What will we do tonight?” he playfully asks his fans as he presses some buttons to change the mood lamp in his room You monitor his live by watching it from your phone and you grin when you see the comments. Taeyong's eyes grow wider when he also reads one comment that pops up from the rest. He glances at you and you nod. Taeyong clears his throat “Oh, lots of comments and hearts there! Thank you for the hearts.” He blows some flying kisses to the fans who donates money by sending hearts. “Since tonight you all are generous, I will consider doing anything you want. Please comment and I’ll do the most voted one.” He winks.

You raise your brow, did he really just say that in front of you? “Someone asks about the dating lottery. Well I did that one time and I am sadly not doing it again.” The handsome boy under the purple mood light chuckles lightly as he lays down lazily on his bed and brings his cam with him. “Why?” he reads the comment to communicate with the fans. You feel butterflies in your stomach, whenever you remember the first encounter and how you're his lover now just makes you feel so lucky. He looks at you and smirks “Because I belong to someone already. Right princess?” he glances at you and winks to which you slap his foot slowly and he winces “Aw she just slapped me.” He acts like he's in deep pain while looking at the camera

Oh gosh TY and his antiques! You choose to ignore him and just read the comments there. Oh they're all wild. “Baby, didn’t you promise them to do whatever is voted here?” your husky voice suddenly resonates in the purple lit room and of course in the rooms of all his listeners. Taeyong gulps when you stands up and shows your screen “The most voted one is to see you as a sub.” You step boldly into the camera, not showing your face but just your back and your long hair.

“(Y/n), what are you-" he whispers to you when you lean closer and closer to his ear. You give it a quick nibble and breathe “Do it, they want to see a sub TY and I can help you with your camera.” You smirk and hear a light whimper from the god under you. You disappear behind the camera again and giggle when the comment section is flooded with fans saying how hot the scene is. Well everyone will drool on you seeing that nice small jeans hugging your waist and a thin crop top.

Taeyong is still blushing so hard but the lighting makes it hideous. You clear your throat “Girls and guys, I will be helping him with the cameras. So, prepare to take screenshots and only for tonight this live won’t be saved. No recording, just screen captures okay?” you make the rule nice and clear because you don’t really want others to see a sub Taeyong but come on you're super thrilled too with this!

“Okay since I will be keeping my words, let's do this.” Taeyong smirks at you but his smirk fades when he sees you waving an object in front of him. You press your finger on your lips, telling him to keep quiet as you climb under him where the cameras cannot see you and swiftly tuck down his boxers and after one good lick and suck on his member just enough to make it wet, you slip in a vibrating ring on his aching member and tuck back his boxers. “Act like nothing is going on" you whisper on his ear while the camera is only showing one of his wall because Taeyong left it there when he sees you quick blowing him “What?” he still wants to protest but you press a small remote on your hand and he gasps when he feels the vibration. “They want you to pose, why don’t you be a good subby TY and pose for them?” your evil smirk comes to your face and Taeyong feels his cheeks burn. “Yes Noona,” he teases you back and you only click your tongue before turning the setting up by one notch.

“Ah" he closes his mouth with his hand when he realizes he's live and people are watching him.

I am in a serious financial bind. 😥 If anyone is in a position to listen & help or signal boost, pls keep reading...

This is from my apartment complex. I am in low-income housing. I called them & sent them proof I could pay on the 23rd. I told them I could (just barely) put 100 down now & they said that was too little.

They said they would file for eviction on the 16th, which adds $150 to my rent. They will cancel the court date and eviction on the 23rd when I pay.

But that doesn't cancel the $150 filing fee.

Idk where that $150 would come from. Idky they think it's fair that someone who cannot pay should be forced to pay even more??? That makes no sense. I can only just barely afford my rent every month as is.

These are from my energy company. I apparently owe them over $600. I genuinely do not know how this happened. We were on the phone for a very long time trying to figure it out & I was in tears for the latter portion of it because I swear I paid.

I usually keep record of my payments via taking a picture of my receipt since they are electronic, but my dog chewed up my phone (which I have pics of if need be for evidence) and broke it, so I had to get a replacement phone sent to me from the insurance company & nothing transferred from the old phone, so all my pics were wiped.

I found no record in my emails, either.

The meds I am taking to try to go into remission and the autoimmune disease itself both cause brain fog and issues with time warping, so it is possible maybe I skipped a month or something, but I highly doubt I would have skipped up to 600+ dollars worth of payments.

I have tons of electronic and hard copy calendars & they are all synced and constantly updated so that I know when payments are due. I also have text and email reminders sent to me, but I could find no reminders in my email for MONTHS now until they were telling me they were going to shut my power off if I didn't pay this. Idk why I was not sent reminders for months???

In the end, I agreed to set up a payment plan. Paying, like... 50-60ish on top of whatever my electric bill is every month for 12 months. It was the lowest they could go.

I can barely afford my electric bill as it is, so idk how I will be able to do this? They did give me a list of charities in my area so I will be using what little energy I have to call around & see if any of them would be willing to help me pay this. Idk how those work (they're mostly churches???), so I'm just gonna try & see what happens. 🤔

On top of all that, I *think* this is telling me my Medicaid has been cancelled but I'm not 100% sure?????

I'm going through treatment for a very serious, disabling problem that should last ~1 year and rn Medicaid is picking up what my Medicare doesn't cover and some of my doctors/specialists and treatments are medicaid only.

If I lose this, I'm basically done.

I know they'll do backpay if I get it back, but Idk if I *will* get it back. I'll be trying to get it back, but in the meantime, I guess I'll just have to pay out of pocket, idk??? Which I do not have.

I have lost almost ALL autonomy due to this autoimmune disease, which (in a very simplified form) is basically my immune cells "eating" my muscle tissue. I can barely get out of bed. Treatment should put me in remission & give me my life back. I am seeing a rheumatologist, neurologist, dermatologist, PCP, physical therapist, psychiatrist, psychologist, and going to a holistic pain treatment center that does a different kind of physical therapy to bring down pain levels (which I was put into that program by my rheum). All of these are in relation to & necessary for my disease. I am going through TONS of testing almost weekly now & trying out treatments like IVIG and chemo where I am in the hospital hooked up to an IV for 4-6+ hrs of that day and the cost of those things without Medicaid picking up what Medicare doesn't cover is astronomical. I have to sign waivers every time I get my blood drawn (which is almost weekly now), do tests, and do treatments saying I will pay if Medicaid does not pick up the extra.

I already have crippling medical debt; I don't need more. I'm scared they won't let me do any more tests or treatments if they see I am just letting it all go to collections & am not paying.

This could mean the difference between having a life worth living (to me) where I am happy & thriving & autonomous or being bed-bound & living a life of just existing from day to day & miserable & in pain & suffering & unable to do anything for myself. This is literally life and death for me because I wouldn't be able to handle continuing to live in the latter scenario. I cannot handle living like I am now. Knowing my treatments are progressing is what keeps me going. Knowing I can go into remission is what keeps me going. Knowing my future is one completely different from now is what keeps me going. But if I cannot have that and am destined to live in this current state, it's just not worth it. I don't know a person alive who would want to live like this.

Finally, my anger noodle needs to get to the vet for MULTIPLE things. Nothing is, like... life threatening or super immediate like his cancer was last year, but they're things that need to be addressed in terms of preventative care & to make sure he isn't in pain.

He needs his trachea checked, possibly x-rays for that, maybe more...

He needs some medication updates, needs a physical, needs a full groom & nail clip under anesthesia (for those who are not familiar with Echo, he has extreme fear-based aggression & usually gets this done under anesthesia; since I worked with him so much, he had his first non-anesthesia nail clip at the beginning of quarantine, but he has gotten worse during quarantine & with my muscle eating disease, I can no longer restrain him & don't have the physical strength to run a brush through his thicker fur as his winter coat is in, so I can no longer groom certain areas of him at home, so his tummy & back legs are matted & I fear he may need to be shaved... which breaks my heart since you don't shave double coat dogs unless medically necessary.), he needs a full physical, & needs to be checked over for MCT's.

He may also need a fecal test or something else, as he has been having odd bowel movements. 😥 His tummy has been upset lately.

I have been crying myself to sleep every single night & often during the day because I cannot get him to the vet. No, it isn't urgent or life threatening. But he is reverse sneezing more than normal & I worry about tracheal collapse, which is a common small dog thing & even MORE common in pomeranians specifically. Every time he has a fit, I think "Oh god, this is it. This is the time I'm gonna have to rush him to the e-vet & get slammed with a huge bill & he is not gonna be okay..."

It breaks my heart to see his legs & belly matted. He is horrible about letting me groom him coz of his aggression so he only gets a full grooms at the vet, but I do short grooming sessions at home with him nightly. Takes about 2 hours just to do the majority of one side of him (not even all of it; just most) coz he needs breaks & lots of praise every few strokes or he will tear me to shreds & hurt himself snapping on the undercoat rake. 😥

But now that my autoimmune disease has atrophied my muscles to the point holding up my phone without something to prop it up feels like I am lifting weights & tires my arms out with a lactic acid burn & pain, I can no longer groom him with the patience he needs & can only groom in 20 minute intervals at the VERY longest. By the time I have gotten one leg done during the week, his entire other side is matted. 😞 Matting on dogs---especially double coat dogs---hurts them. It's like if someone were to wrap your hair around their fingers & then pull it taut. It's a constant pulling pressure on their skin... it's painful & irritates the epidermis. I feel miserable feeling the matting on his back legs & tummy & now feeling the mats beginning to form on the rest of him. He hates me working them out, even with the detangling spray. I know it must hurt so much...

So he may need to be shaved at this point & that will destroy me. I feel sick thinking about it. But anything to get him out of pain. Maybe it is what's best for him while I go through this year of treatment & get my muscles back. But in order to do that, I need to get him to the vet.

The stress of not being able to get him to a vet is tearing me apart & literally making me physically ill.

He is my world. My everything. My #1. My heart dog. My priority in life. My entire universe revolves around him. I would do anything for him. Not a single person, animal, thing, etc, comes before him. It is KILLING me that I cannot provide proper care for him right now. I always always always make sure to sacrifice for him if need be & his things ALWAYS come first, even if it means I'm not eating or not paying bills or whatever. As long as he is taken care of & his needs & wants are met, nothing else matters to me. And right now........ I feel he is suffering because of my finances & the fact my treatment with building my muscles up is not going fast enough.

I cannot control the latter one, but the first one is something I can at least ask for help for. So that is what I am doing.
