okay my not so hot take before mcc15 comes in like a week or two.

i hope big streamers will not like make a big deal on people using glitches in games??? like i think (im sorry, i usually don't blame anyone when it comes to mcc14 drama but no matter where you look, there's someone to blame for this instance) one of the prime examples of this was the dream team's commentary to the vods after mcc14. they should have known that stans WILL attack the person they complained about and even though they've been told that maybe it wasn't a good idea on reacting it live yet they ignored it (i think sapnap said it's fine somewhere in the analysis aftermath event) though they didn't mean it to end up like the dumpsterfire mcc14 became.

they're huge streamers and they should have acted professionally when it comes to this types of games. sure, being competitive is fun and exciting cuz you can have this some sort of adrenaline within you that pushes you to win but calling out on hbomb and scott for their "cheating" and admittance of beta-testing in front of 100k viewers each was really a bad idea. look how much people sent hate comments, death threats and homophobic slurs to both hbomb and scott during and after their analysis stream.

don't get me wrong, it's kinda frustrating that the team i rooted for didn't won (red rabbits will always be my winners) but it's not the first time that teams won through glitches??? for example, wilbur glitch. tons of people do this intentionally or accidentally. i mean, look at quackity back in mcc11 i believe. he tried to wilbur glitch in rocket spleef and made it until the last minute because someone removed his block. or pearl with the hole in the wall which i think was the same glitch that hbomb did??? (please help me remember this one lmao). anyways, she did the glitch accidentally and she was nervous about it but others only laughed it off or jokingly complained about it and it was all fun and games!

by rules, hbomb didn't really cheat as the server is most likely an anti-cheat one so it would detect if he actually cheated and it was said that its literally a minecraft glitch so its not noxcrew's fault for that glitch. if wilbur and others would use the wilbur glitch to their advantage, surely hbomb can also use the glitch to his advantage? it would be selective seeing if you say that hbomb shouldn't do it.

anyways, back on the topic. like i said, if big streamers or content creators like the dream team made an issue on this, you bet your asses that twitter would raise hell because of it. maturity and proper sportsmanship should be needed in the mcc because of how much of a deal it is to fans and one wrong move can ruin viewer's enjoyment. look at tommy as an example, he has been in the mcc since the second mcc of season 1, and he blew up as fast, if not, faster than dream yet i think it was due to how he's surrounded by friends who are experienced and veterans in the entertainment platform such as techno, phil, and wilbur (who all participated in a similar event as mcc which was minecraft mondays) that he didn't react too much on the drama and kept it cool. we could see that when he was disappointed at the result of ace race of mcc14 but he didn't really react negatively towards scott nor the crew and this is how proper behavior of being a competitor works. is it the dream team's fault for what happened to mcc14? uh (please don't kill me-) yeah. technically yeah it is half of their fault that they fueled the drama more to a huge amount of people but it's also mostly the toxic stans fault as well for making the situation even worse and too much out of control. i just wished they (dream team) think of what they do next instead of saying it then regretting it soon after. like i said again, im pretty sure they didnt want that to happen as they're still friends with them (or at least friends of their friends) and didn't want them to be hurt by the dream team's actions.

what's the point of this post? it's to avoid what happened to mcc14 that may or may not happen again to mcc15. it's all fun and games in the end of the day and no one would lose nor gain anything except maybe bragging rights or hurt pride.

(rp): Drista!! I love this chaotic child and am looking forward to seeing the children bully each other lmao. I especially love the mythos around Creative mode, and that the most benevolent god on the Dream SMP is just as likely to ban you as hand you a shulker box lol.

I do wonder how in character cc!Tommy is going to be able to stay during this stream: on one hand he’s a master at staying in character even during lh moments, and on the other Exile arc is some Dark Shit and Dristas like what, 14?? Overall I expect this to be one of the lighter streams, with a smattering of moments where we remember that, oh right, Tommy’s pretty actively suicidal at this point and he sees this as one of his last hurrahs.

Speaking of our boy Tommy: it's very clear we are getting closer and closer to the infamous pillar. He switches rapidly between Fight and Fawn reflexes and has mostly internalized Dream’s treatment and conditions at this point. The one stand out moment being him calling out Dream killing Mexican Dream last stream, and pointing out he was changing his story even when Dream tried to lie and say he died of “a drug overdose [...] or natural causes”. I’m curious if Tommy is going to bring it up again, and even more curious if he eventually believes Dream about it; something to watch out for, for sure. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this moment of rebellion happened right after he had someone both stand up for him and spend time with him that wasn’t actively hostile or going to end (supposedly, at least by intention)

it’s genuinely unfortunate seeing what mcc has become, i’ve been around since mid 2020 and not once have i seen this level of toxicity not only surrounding scott and the noxcrew themselves but also at individual creators just trying to have fun and have a good time playing minecraft with their friends.

when wilbur’s team won because he glitched into a block in rocket spleef, no one was mass qrting him and harassing his teammates, because at the time the margin of people who took the games too seriously was significantly lower. the vast majority of the fan base understood it was all for shits and giggles and is in no way a completely 100% serious and accurate representation of block game skill.

i was on twt the day mcc14 happened, and my god there were hundreds of people saying downright nasty things to scott & hbomb.

how far into the bullshit do you need to be to think that dog-piling on people is okay simply because they “cheated” in a block game tournament with no monetary prize?

Dream’s fans have a tendency to take things too far, and this has rung true time and time again.

I don’t give a shit if Hbomb “cheated” in HITW or if Scott “cheated” in ace race, it should never warrant the kind of harassment they got, and I feel so immensely bad for them. Scott is an extremely sweet guy, and Hbomb is the most kind and supportive teammate you could ask for; it pissed me off when I saw people treating them like they committed a felony or something. Dream losing in mcc is not the end of the world, you don’t need to defend him to your last breath, and you don’t need to send hate to his literal friends on his behalf.

i’m a dream smp fanartist, i’m by no means an “anti,” I simply don’t tolerate harassment and i’m so tired of seeing people excuse it.

green guardians- obviously strong, but having 2/3 of the dream team is obviously not historically enough to secure a win. however, they are a very powerful duo and teamed together, dream and george have never gotten below 4th place. 3/4 of this team has an advantage of having been training together even before teams were announced and regularly playing minecraft together. the captain and dream have been together, they work well together, i don’t imagine this team will have any issues with chemistry or communication. skillset wise, an advantage this team also has is being not super dependent on games. obviously dream is your s tier “carry” whatever you want to call him, he’s a superstar. george is solid all around. the captain is a good player, very experienced and good at the game. and quackity while not excelling in the past has been practicing lately and honestly all he has to do is stay alive for a decent amount of time in most games and not even worry about kills/at least finish the course if it’s a movement type thing. like maybe rocket spleef or buildmart is their worst game? but like half of them are good at rocket spleef and then is anybody good at buildmart really (/hj)?

orange ocelots- okay hear me out. consistency is so important in this tournament. this is why orange and lime go above red. three experienced, consistent players plus one team leader is a better team composition in general. people are saying that quig has been doing worse ever since mcc12, but it’s not like he’s fallen off. he’s been practicing a lot and he’s still really good at the game. and he’ll have a solid, supportive team to help him out. shelby’s played in a lot of the top teams for the tournament. she can hold her own just fine and would be super good in dodgebolt for these guys. eret and kara are similarly experienced and also have been in high placing teams, they were actually in the 1st and 2nd scoring teams last mcc. i put orange above lime because i just think the players on orange score the tiniest bit higher (again everything will be dependent on the tournament itself but just looking at averages) quig- 3168, shubble- 1935, kara- 1937, eret- 1705 VS fruit- 3167 (yes one single coin less), false- 1954, cubfan- 1698, ren- 1662.

lime llamas- similar ideas to above but with hermits. these guys are solid. fruit is also one of the best mcc players. he’s been top two for the past four tournaments. false is good. ren and cubfan can definitely support the team as well. these guys also have the advantage of playing together often, notably false ren have done every single tournament together except two, but everybody on this team has done mcc together. i think only ren and cubfan haven’t done a dodgebolt together so like crazy strong stuff here with this team. they’ve had similar team makeups to this before and gotten 1st. they go third because they’re a little bit weaker than the lime liches, a little bit weaker than the mcc12 lime llamas, a little bit weaker than mcc10s orange ocelots, a little bit weaker than the similar teams they’ve had before. again though numbers aren’t everything. maybe i’m only putting them third because i really want to get the captain a win and also josh fruitberries walking off the side of the bridge in skybattle is flashing through my mind right now. but yeah third here because the other guys are the slightest bit stronger i feel. i wouldn’t be surprised to see them in dodgebolt though.

red rabbits- i adore these guys. super talented all around. but again all these teams above them have consistency over them. vikk is very good at the game, has not played mcc in particular in a hot sec. i mean i don’t suspect he’ll have too much trouble readapting, especially if he’s willing to train beforehand on the training server. niki also hasn’t played in a sec. they go third because this team has good players and while niki hasn’t excelled in the tournament, she brings great vibes and a supportive atmosphere to the team. also she’s been practicing so im ready for her to get revenge on georgenotfound. tommy is good when he’s not worrying too much about everyone else. i think this team is good for that. tubbo doesn’t need too much guidance, i think he can operate on his own and pop off. vikk might need a nudge but i don’t think he’ll need as much as a newer player. im thinking of mcc12 red rabbits right now where niki and big q would have similar roles and then vikk and wisp. i think vikk would need less help than wisp did in that tournament. they’re a well rounded team. no chemistry issues. i don’t think niki lets the game get to her head and i think that’ll be good for tommy as well. pvp games would be fantastic for them and the real make or break for how high they score.

yellow yaks- 2/4 coral carolers lets gooo. sylvee and krtzyy are very experienced. dave’s an a tier player. i believe sylvee could pull like around 20-25. dan is new but a good player, top 15 potential for sure and honestly would have made that if it wasn’t for the buildmart finale last tournament. sb i’m not as familiar with but i’m pretty sure he’s a top 15 player as well. he’s steadily improved each tournament he’s played in. they’re a good team but i don’t really see as much chemistry in their favor as these other teams and no s tier which obviously doesn’t actually mean anything, but just looking at things it helps to have someone like these other teams have dream, fruit, and quig (and vikkstar)

You have inspired me to write my own stories, and I love that you're the lead writer for season two! You're one of my idols and role-models. That said, I wanted to ask you something about the series; What exactly inspired you for the adventure pass (Ep's 5-8). They were the most creative ep's to me, and I wanted to know what inspired you for them, Old builders, Blaze-Rods etc

To answer your question about inspiration… the two biggest inspirations for the Adventure Pass were Doctor Who and a 90s TV show called Sliders. We wanted to be able to do really tonally different episodes that let the player experience some of the huge variety that’s possible in the world of Minecraft. Each episode took influence from (1) a game type in Minecraft and (2) a genre of film/television.

Episode 5, Order Up!, took its initial inspiration from the Minecraft gametype “Skyblock,” where players must build as much as possible from highly limited resources in the middle of the sky. Tonally, it drew its influences from adventure stories like The Princess Bride, The Three Musketeers, Zorro, and the movies of Errol Flynn. We wanted to let the player feel like a rebellious swashbuckler getting thrown into the middle of crazy skyblock political drama and really mix it up.

Episode 6, Portal to Mystery, mostly drew its influences from murder mystery stories like Clue and And Then There Were None. Gameplay-wise, we were inspired by “Murder Mystery” gametype that people play in Minecraft - We wanted to see if we could make an episode that felt like a super dramatized version of one of those games.

Episode 7, Access Denied, wasn’t so much influenced by a single gametype as it was influenced by people who build crazy large-scale redstone computers in Minecraft. It asked the question “What if one of those computers… went evil?” For tonal inspiration we looked at classic science fiction like the original Star Trek and The Day The Earth Stood Still.

Episode 8, A Journey’s End?, took the majority of its inspiration from a few of the competitive minigames that people play in Minecraft: Spleef, Parkour/Lava run, and The Walls - Again, trying to imagine the most dramatized version of people playing those minigames. Tonal influences included movies like Spartacus, Gladiator, and The Hunger Games, though it also drew from professional wrestling, American Ninja Warrior, and American Gladiators.
