Tap, tap, tap. Hannie’s eyes were glued to the screen on his phone as he typed. With tickletober approaching fast, Han was racing against the clock to finish his longer fics.

He was working on a particularly challenging draft when the cheesecake he’d ordered earlier arrived.

Naturally, priorities called for him to sprint to get it. He wasn’t about to miss out on enjoying it properly, so a drink was a must.

When Chan had wandered into the younger’s room, he had not expected to find what he did.

“Hm, did Sungie pick up reading?” He wondered and curiosity overtook him as he reached for the phone.

As Chan scrolled through, his eyes caught the tag ‘tk fic’. Confusion settled in until he started reading… then, realization hit hard.

But as he read through the long passages, he got his answer. A deep blush flared across his cheeks and he could feel a weird thumping in his chest.

With every beat and every line, he could practically hear Hannie’s cries to get wrecked the way the character was being tickled.

As he read through it, it dawned on the leader that this character seemed to have the exact spots that Hannie was hellishly ticklish in.

A devilish smirk tugged at Chan’s lips as the pieces fell into place. He wondered how long their sweet quokka had kept this little secret from them.

By the time Han returned to his spot he found Chan in his room, staring at his phone, face red and one hand covering his mouth.

He’d left his phone unlocked on an anime tickle fic he was writing, but the screen now displayed one of his older fics.

He has years and years worth of fics and drafts on his phone. How had he forgotten to lock his phone? And on the one app that no one should have found out!

“Hyung wh—what are you doing here?! You can't just—” He stammered, feeling speechless. How on earth could he possibly defend himself in this situation?

“Sorry, I couldn’t help myself,” Chan admitted sheepishly. Then his lips quirked in a small smile as he looked at Han.

“Han-ah, what was that about? There were a lot of…stories on your account.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Hannie’s flustered reaction and tomato face answered Chan’s question well enough.

“So… you’re into tickling, huh?” The leader gestured at Han’s phone, expression serious and sincere as he took a step towards Han, who immediately backed away.

“W-what? That's ridiculous! Why are you even here?!” He was embarrassed beyond measure, breath hitching when Chan closed the distance, his hands playfully hovering over Hannie’s sides.

Instantly realizing that this would only get worse if Chan read anything more, Hannie tried to snatch the phone out of the older’s hand, sporting a blush dark enough to rival Chans’ own.

He failed, Chan holding the device away, just out of reach. He grinned tauntingly at Han, reaching out to poke his side when the ace kept up the fight. This was fun.

In a desperate move, Han jabbed back and snatched his phone, bolting out of the room like his life depended on it. No way. There was no way in hell he was about to let Chan just wreck him like that.

He heard Chan’s voice calling him back, warning him of what would happen when he would get caught. It only made Han run faster, right into a room with its door open.

He slammed it shut the moment he was through, utterly dismayed when a strong hand wrestled it back, revealing a very motivated Chan.

His was heaving, as was Han, pushing the door back effortlessly and cornering Han against what he figured was Seungmin’s bed. This could not be happening right now.

Hannie’s eyes were wide, locked onto Chan as he stood completely still, as if that would make the older leave him be.

His hyung had tickled him a million times before! He shouldn’t be this flustered but he couldn’t help the way his heart raced when he saw Chan’s eyes crinkle in a teasy smile.

His hyung had also never known how much he liked this. And something about this newfound knowledge seemed to have lit a fire in him.

It was like a scene straight out of all the fics he’s ever read or written. The ler cornering the lee, teasing words mingling with light touches to make an absolutely adorable mess of their lee.

He wondered if Chan would feel that way about him. What kind of ler would he be?

Would he remind Han every second they were alone of his shameful secret? Would he make Hannie admit how much he loved it, teasing him every second?

Would he make Hannie admit how much he liked being tickled, make him tell the leader where he wanted to be tickled and just how much every different technique felt?

Would he make Hannie ask for it; scribble ever so gently at his belly until the ace surrendered and begged? Would he make tell the others how ticklish Han was? Would he—

Hannie’s thoughts raced, but before he could lose himself in his fantasies, Chan’s fingers traced his sides, snapping him back to reality. There was nowhere left to run.

He giggled, feeling a little hysterical when Chan pushed him back, applying just enough force to make the quokka fall back against the bed, legs dangling over the edge.

Chan towered over him; eyes focused on the youngers’. A smirk formed on his face when he spotted Hannie’s knitted brows.

“So,” he spoke after a suspenseful silence. He was letting Hannie overthink himself into a lee mood. It was far too amusing to see his first kid having such an adorable reaction.

Hannie was always cute when he was about to be tickled and even cuter when he was actually getting wrecked.

“Which troupe do you want to play with today baby? Hm, should I tease you like Getou teased Gojo in that one story? Or maybe you want something more like what Dazai does to Chuuya?”

He felt so shy under Channie’s knowing gaze, squirming as he tried to come up with something—anything at all that wouldn’t feel like his face was on fire.

Chan seemed to have read quite a few, and the way he kept mentioning bits and pieces of his stories just made everything so much worse.

“I— I don’t know…” he answered in a small voice, freezing when Chan’s hands found their way to rest on his thighs.

“I know you do, you’re just too flustered to admit it right?” Chan cooed, giggling when his words made Han hide behind his hands.

“Now tell me love, which character do you want me to be?” His fingers lightly tapped Hannie’s thighs. “Or should I just surprise you?”

“Surprise me,” he said meekly, through his hands. “Good boy. Now keep your hands behind your head for me, okay? And tell me if you want me to stop at any point.”

Han nodded and the leader hummed in satisfaction. He shuffled forward, leaning over the younger as he came up with a plan. Then he moved his hands to Hannie’s armpits.

Chan’s fingers moved slowly, almost ghosting over the spot until Han whined for him to ‘do it properly’.

So he did, feeling more and more confident when each little motion of his hands had the younger squealing with joy.

“Chahahahannihie hyuhuhung!! Ahahahahaha ihihit… ihihit’s sohoho tehewohordish!!”

“Oh yeah? That doesn’t sound right. I’m tickling you baby. T.I.C.K.L.I.N.G. You. See?”

With every letter, Han got a scribble or scratch at one of his ribs, ending with Chan fully digging into the sensitive skin of his underarms with all four fingers.

Frantic giggles burst from his lips as the younger struggled to keep his hands up as Chan had wanted.

He was writhing on the soft mattress, the cover bunching up in a way that he was sure Seungmin would be complaining about later.

“Fahahahahack hyuhuhung hyuHUHUHUNG!! HAHAHOW ARE YOUHUHU SOHO GOOHOOD AHAT THIHIS?!” He squealed, eyes squeezed shut and head thrown back when Chan moved to his upper ribs.

“Are you saying that I haven’t tickled you properly before? And after I tried so hard to wreck you back then…” Chan pouted, although the playful gleam in his eyes told a whole other story.

He loved the praise too, knowing that he was the cause for his baby’s laughter. And now that he knew for certain just how much Hannie wanted this too… well, it would be a waste not to put all he’d read to good use.

“Thahahahat’ nohohot whahat ihihi saHAHAID!! Hyuhuhung nahahahahaha!” Chan had moved to his lower ribs, his thumbs massaging deep, ticklish circles onto the protruding bones.

It had Hannie’s thighs squeezing him, torso twisting away in a vain attempt to escape as his laughter grew louder and louder.

“You’re laughing so much already! I haven’t even gotten to your worst spot yet!” The leader marveled, moving his hands down to Hannie’s tummy.

He paused to give Hannie a break, the poor quokka’s hair looking like a bird’s nest, clothes ruffled and riding up, showing a sliver of skin on his lower belly than Chan kept scratching with one finger.

It kept the boy giggling his head off. “Wow, I knew you were ticklish, but I didn’t know you were this ticklish. It’s so cute!” He said, laughing when Han whined in embarrassment.

“You having fun too hyung?” He asked quietly through his laughter, peeking up at Chan. The oldest smiled fondly, nodding in answer.

And just to prove his point, he dived in without warning, pushing Hannie’s shirt up and planting his lips over his belly button.

He felt Han flinch, yelping and squirming. Then he blew, loud and hard over the spot.

The quokka shrieked, hands coming down to push at Chan’s head desperately when the leader kept it up, blowing raspberry after raspberry over the spot while his hands squeezed and skittered over Hannie’s bare thighs.

“FUCK!! CHAHAHAHANNIE HYUHUHUNG PLEHEHEHEASE!! PLEHEASE OHOHO MYHY GAHAHAHA—”

His words dissolved into an incoherent jumble, melodious laughter filling the room as he squirmed helplessly on the bed.

Chan went on for a few more minutes, until Hannie’s laughter cut out completely to stop.

He stood up, watching the younger gasp, residual giggles still bubbling up as Hannie looked at him through squinted eyes. A wide smile adorned his face and Chan felt proud at the state of his baby.

Hannie looked adorably ruffled so he crawled onto the bed, fixing his clothes, though the ace reflexively tried to defend himself and combed his hair back with his fingers.

“This is just part one of my super evil plan,” he told the younger. “I’m letting you off easy for now, but maybe…there might be a little surprise waiting for you soon~”

Han smiled sweetly at that, hugging Chan tightly. “Thank you hyungie. I loved it!” He whispered bashfully, hiding his blush in the leader’s chest.

5. Do you respond to comments? I really try to, sometimes I think they get lost in my inbox, but I do try.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? uh, none of them? I don't think I've written anything that doesn't have a happy ending.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? hmmm, maybe It came without ribbons?, or Knave 4 (The Knave of Clubs ... swears he'll take her part). They both end in marriage proposals.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Just a few on Knave 4, which I expected and mostly ignored.

9. Do you write smut? more often than I ever imagined I would

10. Do you write crossovers? I love a good crossover. Haven't written one yet, but would enjoy it.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of. Let's keep it that way. (finger's crossed)

Well, I don't publish WIPs, not because I have an ethical stance on it, but because I'm usually still changing things at the beginning right up until I hit post and I don't understand how people post things as they write them. Not my process.

That being said, there's a LS kidfic that I'd like to finish some day, but every time I look at it I can't figure out where it's going.

16. What are your writing strengths? I feel like this is a thing other people need to tell me? Dialogue? Plot (apparently? or so 200,000 words of Knave-verse would like me to believe).

17. What are your writing weaknesses? brevity

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I'd like to do more of it, because I have characters I write who I think probably do think in another language, but it's not a language I speak, so I don't.

19. First fandom you wrote for? published? Lonestar. unpublished? there's a Merlin story @cecilyv and I wrote for years that is mostly not great, but has it's moments.

There were a bunch I wrote early for LS that are kind of character studies that I love - A home isn't always the house we live in (Judd), Stitched with its color (TK & 9/11), and through same of am through haves of give (Enzo)

And, I'd be lying if I didn't say Knave-verse, because I think Knave 2 and Knave 4 are the best things I've ever written - and there is just so much of me in the way TK thinks about art.

And then Baggage That Goes with Mine - because there isn't necessarily me in there, but there is a lot of my history in fandom and the huge cultural shift that I have seen happen since I started reading fic in Tommy's story. Also, I do love me a split timeline narrative.

Happy LONE STAR DAY!!

I have a few housekeeping things to talk about before I return to our usual Music Monday format, but I know we're all excited for tonight so I will try to keep this brief.

This song is a reflection on the way we live our lives and how we will be remembered when we're gone. When I think about these lyrics in the context of Lone Star, they could really apply to any character, but Gabriel is who specifically comes to my mind for this song.

To me, this is Gabriel's message to Carlos. He's spent a lot of time reflecting on his own mistakes and has struggled to express the love he has for his son, but he hopes that Carlos will remember him as someone who never stopped trying and who always strived to be better. He didn't always get it right, but he looks at Carlos and feels so much love and pride, and he wants Carlos to know that and to see that.

This is a song written from the perspective of someone struggling with addiction. The narrator addresses his loved ones with a sort of brutal honesty about his feelings towards life, but it's also a song about love and support at the same time. It's about someone who is there for you even when you're in your worst moments and can't see a way out.

This song reminds me of TK and Owen in s1. Owen is ready to do whatever he has to do in order to help TK, and TK lets him in as much as he can, but these lyrics are also an realistic viewpoint on the state of his mental health in the aftermath of his suicide attempt. He knows Owen loves him and is there for him, but he still needs to find that healing outside of that support.

I really hit y'all with a couple angsty gems today, so I should probably round this post out with a more upbeat song. This song screams Tarlos to me, and reminds me of the early days of their relationship where everything is new and overwhelming, but it also just feels right at the same time. They've come to that realization that what they have is something special, and that they might have found their soulmate. Before they met, such a notion felt impossible to them.

Those fans are now throwing the race card once again for Carlos cause they don’t like how some people write fan fiction..

The face that we can’t criticize characters anymore without getting told we’re racist is embarrassing 

Right now I'm in the process of looking for a new show to obsess over, so I don't know what is happening. I’m not gonna watch the new season and I stopped following the Lone Star tags.

I can talk about what I observed/felt when I was part of the fandom, though.

People are allowed to criticize Carlos because of his actions. It’s ok to still be angry/upset at his character for how he behaved in the Carlos Being Married With Iris Storyline. Yeah, Carlos has every right to be flawed (he’s human), but the problem was never about him being flawed – the problem was that he never acknowledged how unfair he was to his partner.

So here why I don't like Carlos.

1. Carlos never told TK he was already married until it was too late. He simply accepted TK’s proposal and decided to keep the secret.

2. Carlos was only honest with TK after that because he had no other choice, and then when he finally was open with TK about it he decided that it would be a very good idea to have this very delicate conversation in TK’s workplace in the middle of TK’s shift.

3. Carlos saw nothing wrong with Iris thinking it was her place to approve/or disapprove TK.

4. Carlos made wife jokes even if was clear TK was so not comfortable with that and never once acted like he regreted hiding this from TK.

5. Carlos put all decisions about the divorce (something that affected his and TK’s future) in Iris  hands (someone who was a stranger to TK).

6. Carlos blamed TK when Iris went missing. Whenever TK had a conflict with Carlos (meeting Carlos parents, how uncomfortable Carlos was with Cooper), TK is always so understanding (even if sometimes he is angry first and needs to cool of a bit, he always comes back to talk things) and validates Carlos feelings, but Carlos? He was so hostile.

7. That Carlos comment about bad relationships that was obviously directed at TK that you all like to ignore, guess what? It happened.

8. Carlos never apologized for any of this. He never recognized to TK that he was wrong and TK had nothing to do with Iris missing, he never admitted that he treated TK badly. How can I be expected to be go past that when Carlos never acknowledge what he did?

For me those are valid reasons for not liking him.

Because TK is not perfect. He made a lot of mistakes, but he always (or at least most of the time) admits them and apologizes.

I defend TK so much because I don’t think a part of the fandom truly understands how addiction can affect someone.

Thing is, there’s this mindset in the fandom that Carlos was this defenseless boy who chased after TK, when this wasn't never the point. Not only TK had his heart broken, he relapsed. That’s a lot. He had reasons for not wanting to jump in a new relationship, and he was upfront about this with Carlos. He was clear about his boundaries. And if he never wanted something serious with Carlos in the end? He would also be valid. He owned Carlos nothing but being truthful, which he was.

TK is considered immature and childish when a lot of this traits (his impulsiveness, for example) are direct connected with his addiction. And what Iris said about TK being a mess and a project that you guys think its so funny? It's so problematic, harmful and could be triggering, especially because it’s directed at someone who deals with addiction.

But for those who act like Carlos should not be criticized, fear not. TK major character trait since season 4 is being in love with Carlos. It’s so obvious that from now on TK main role will be to support Carlos, and I doubt that at this point he will have a storyline of his own.

victories, defined | a 911 Season 7 coda to the medal ceremony. Tommy confronts Gerrard (i dont really like this one tbh)

hitchcokian | a 911 season 7 coda. buck calls Tommy right after he runs into Kim. (this one is okay, but i fear i wasted the title "hitchcockian" on this when it would be cool do a genre-bending thing. idk)

echoes | 911 Lone Star Season 1. Carlos waits in the hospital after TK is shot and really talks to the 126 for the first time.

why | 911 Lone Star. the silliest thing i've ever written, and it's all @lemonlyman-dotcom's fault. Carlos buys Lou II pajamas and then realizes he has to put the pajamas ... on Lou II and regrets every decision that led him there.

halted beginnings | 911 Lone Star. post-engagement. Carlos is in love. But he's forgotten about something.

5. Do you respond to comments? I do, although I think im kinda behind on doing so? I do forget to sometimes.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? i think it's a tie between halted beginnings (linked above) and fundamental. they are essentially sister stories, with fundamental being the meta-verison of halted beginnings. they both tackle Carlos forgetting about Iris when he says yes to TK's proposal. halted beginnings is more of a character introspection into how, in the moment, Carlos might have forgotten about Iris. fundamental takes the meta-approach that Carlos/Iris were never planned from the beginning and is written as if Carlos, the character from season 1-3, knows someone else is rewriting his history (the writer, or "Tim," as I called him in the annotations lol). Both fics end on a heavy note, with Carlos either putting off telling TK (halted beginnings) or a rewritten version of Carlos taking over Seasons 1-3 Carlos (fundamental).

7. What is the fic your wrote with the happiest ending?

Probably "why" (linked above). TK and Lou II in matching pajamas ... couldn't be better!

I haven't, and I hope it stays that way.

peace | a 911 Lone Star fic that is actually pretty angsty too, haha. it's very short, but I was stretching some more poetic writing muscles I hadnt used in a long time. This is Carlos, after the breakup

Staring at ghosts | my newest one, 911, bucktommy. It's a wip, but I really love the first chapter, and I'm really excited about the rest of it I have outlined and partly written. Buck and Tommy are still in the fairly early stages of their relationship, and Buck doesn't really know how to open up when he starts having dreams about the lightning strike.

Nobody tagged me in this (I just found it randomly in the book tag), but I feel like TALKING ABOUT BOOKS! and I wanna hear from my friends about their reading. so! Here we are!

Last book I…

BOUGHT:

Cooling the Tropics by Hi'ilei Julia Kawehipuaakahaopulani Hobart. This is a nonfiction book that uses the lens of refrigeration and ice (and its various food forms like frozen drinks/ice cream/etc) to talk about the ways Hawai'i was colonized and native Hawaiians were forced to assimilate. Have not read it yet, but itching to pick it up during this summer season!

BORROWED:

I Keep My Exoskeletons To Myself by Marisa Crane. I have the e-book for this checked out from the library right now. Currently not super far into it, but it's about a world in which "wrongdoers" are given a second shadow (or third, fourth, etc) as punishment and forced to be publicly shamed (and discriminated against). We follow a main character who has lost her wife in childbirth and the baby was given a second shadow immediately. It's written in first person narration as the MC speaking to her dead wife.

WAS GIFTED:

The Last Cuentista by Donna Barba Higuera. My sister gave me this book for Christmas! I read it back in January and it's a fantastic middle grade/YA story set on a spaceship that has left earth right before a comet is about to destroy it. Follows a young girl who wants to be a storyteller for future generations but when she wakes up from stasis on the ship, a cult has taken over and they want to purge humanity of its stories and history.

GAVE/LENT TO SOMEONE:

Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire. A friend of mine was looking for some short reads, so I lent him a stack of various novellas. This is one of my favorites! This is the first book in a series following children who have gone into portal worlds and come back. While they're seeking to find their own specific door back to the world they're meant to be in, they stay at Eleanor West's Home for Wayward Children.

STARTED:

Do What Godmother Says by L.S. Stratton. I started listening to this on audio the other day! Shanice has inherited a spooky painting from her grandmother. As she starts to learn about the Harlem Renaissance painter who made it, she also begins to wonder if maybe the painting is haunted.

FINISHED:

Before the Devil Breaks You by Libba Bray. This is the third book in a series so I won't go into the plot, but it was a solid continuation of the story - I read all 500+ pages in one day! The first book, The Diviners, introduces a group of characters living in 1920's NYC as they're discovering their various supernatural abilities, trying to solve a crime, and save all of humanity from evil.

GAVE 5 STARS:

El Deafo by Cece Bell. This is a middle grade graphic memoir about CeCe's experience of growing up as the only hearing impaired child at her school and in her neighborhood. It was adorably illustrated with all the characters as rabbits. This was definitely written for a younger audience but I think anyone can enjoy and learn from it!

GAVE 2 STARS:

Do Not Become Alarmed by Maile Meloy. This was a book I picked up specifically for a vacation in January so I could read a book set on a cruise ship while on a cruise ship... While it kind of fulfilled that for me, it also surprised me with unnecessary on-page abuse of a child. The "thriller" aspects of this book were not at all interesting. There were also too many POV changes throughout. 2 stars. Do not recommend.

DIDN’T FINISH:

Stiff by Mary Roach. I DNF'd this on audio specifically. I just was not digging the voice of the narrator. I could see myself trying to read this again in physical form at some point in the future.

World building, pretty metaphors, I'm far too fond of run on sentences to the point where if I was beta reading my own writing there are SO MANY sentences that need to be cut down so that the reader can breathe.

Tag Game: 911 Lone Star Fandom Edition

Tagged by @rmd-writes and this is probably the first tag game I've done in... *checks calendar* I can't count that high 🤷🏻‍♂️

When did you first start watching Lone Star? Who or what introduced you to the show?

I've been watching since the pilot premiered on Sunday, January 19, 2020 🙃 I actually was still watching OG 911 at that time with @emisfritish and we were trying to decide if we wanted to watch the upcoming spinoff or not, so we checked out the trailer. Saw that first little clip of Carlos Reyes and that moment of Tarlos getting down to business in 1x02 and I was suddenly way more interested in LS than I had ever been in OG (sorry not sorry). And though she never really joined the LS fandom, I do still get to experience @emisfritish watching LS episodes for the first time (even if it's sometimes months after they air) and it's one of my favorite things.

Which season is your favorite?

Season 3, for sure. Best viewing experience of any season, really strong storylines, so much more Carlos than the previous 2 seasons (combined), the full tarlos arc from exes to fiancés and all the really good growth for them in-between those two moments... I don't know that the show will ever reach those heights again, but I'm so glad I got to experience every moment of it in real time.

LOL such a mystery, my favorite character is obviously Caleb. Love that dumbass. (Real answer: my top 3 characters are Carlos, Grace, and Judd.)

Push Bad Call Saving Grace Riddle of the Sphynx Donors In Sickness and In Health (sorry I know that's six but rafa is just so fucking good)

If you could pick any character to be given a "begins" episode, who would it be and what would that episode look like?

First I will say that I'm really happy that we don't do "Begins" episodes with LS because I remember wanting to skip so many of those when watching OG (never grew attached to any of the characters, maybe I'd like them better in LS but let's not risk it) and I think there are more organic ways to incorporate backstory into the narrative than to say "here's 45 minutes of backstory!"

ANYWAY For a very long time my answer was uncontestedly Carlos Reyes, and I would still love to get every single moment of his life from his birth until now, but also... I don't know, I think at this point in the show we've gotten so much of Carlos's history (through what is sometimes messy writing, sure, but we still got it) that it feels selfish to keep asking for more when a character like Paul still feels really undervalued on the show. So, maybe Paul? But, also Carlos because... I'm me 🤷🏻‍♂️

What is a scenario or storyline that you would like to see in season 5?

Honestly, I would like to see Carlos have to face the consequences of his actions in the s4 finale. I love him, I would die on every damn hill for him, and I fully tracked his rationale for why he did what he did, but it was still really messed up, and I would love to see him battling with those decisions and what they mean for him at the top of the season. I'm not against Carlos struggling and messing up sometimes (two of my favorite episodes are "Cry Wolf" and "In Sickness and In Health"), but it's a way more interesting narrative if we actually see him confronting his mistakes rather than them disappearing into the unknown like most of the consequences on LS... Also, Rafa would destroy scenes like that and I always want to see Rafa at the top of his game.

Would also love to see him get a different job but that seems unlikely and we'd lose that glorious utility belt strut

What do you think is going on in this still?

I do think it's most likely related to Gabriel's murder. It could be an update on where the Rangers are at in the case, it could be them calling Carlos in to assist with something (undercover Carlos mayhaps?), or maybe Carlos got suspended after what he did last season and this is him receiving a call from his boss with an update on his job status... honestly, no idea, but it's making me want to know things so fuck you tim minear

We all know about the elusive 5x05 spicy scene that has been teased, so what is your prediction for how it could possibly top 1x02?

See, I thought elements of the 2x12 sex scene were better than the 1x02 sex scene because there was all of this added intimacy and emotion between them, which just makes every touch and kiss and look and breath that much deeper and richer and sexier. Like, that look Carlos gives TK after taking his shirt off while straddling TK's thighs? That's sex right there. So, honestly, I don't know what they're going to go through between 5x01 and 5x04, but as long as the 5x05 scene contains all of that context that makes the moment about them and how they feel to be with each other, it's already topped 1x02 in my opinion. Rushed, casual, fun sex is great and hot and obviously I didn't hate it, but the combination of lust AND love? You can't ever beat that.

Where was the Tarlos honeymoon in your mind?

You know, I honestly don't know... I haven't really thought about it. Their honeymoon has kind of been a non-thing for me, so I hope wherever it was it was peaceful and exactly what they both needed.

Shoutout one of your favorite fan creations.

I know this says one, but there are so many different types of creations and I won't be able to mention all of them (it's been FOUR YEARS OKAY) but I want to try to share a range...

I absolutely have to start out with all the incredible work that @reyeslonestar gave this fandom: I have this one printed and framed, but I also love this one and this one and this one and THIS ONE. Also love this one by @whatsintheboxmh so much. I also love these two NSFW pieces by @a-kinkajou (but the AO3 links seem to be broken so you'll have to look at the SFW versions here on tumblr and just trust me).

ALSO I really love fanvids and in particular this one and this one (SOBBING) and this one and THIS ONE. While I wish I could list every gifset that has sparked an emotional response for me, it would be impossible, so I'll share this one (@maxbegone) because it makes me smile, these two because the vows are ev-er-y-thing (@danieljradcliffe), and this one because the Carlos Reyes Strut is also everything (@evanzbuck).

I mean, the Teacher AU. It's the teacher au. You don't understand, it's THE TEACHER AU (@three-drink-amy). I'm already so in love with Call Me, but that's no surprise since it's from the writers of iconic works like these (@welcometololaland @rmd-writes) The Knave verse is beyond iconic at this point (@liminalmemories21). This Carlos begins fic is really beautiful (@freneticfloetry) and this early fic has one of my favorite Carlos characterizations ever (@singerofsimplesongs). Tag Game Tuesday: 911 Lone Star Fandom Edition

When did you first start watching Lone Star? Who or what introduced you to the show?

In early February 2022, I began to see some Push gifs on tumblr and I was very intrigued. Two beautiful men, one waking up from a coma, both of them obviously in love with each other...I had to know more! I started season 1 a few days later and it took me around a week to get completely caught up. I was just in time to watch 3x07 as it aired. I've been completely consumed by the show and Tarlos ever since.

Which season is your favorite?

I think season 3 is the most consistently great season, though I love a lot about all the seasons. Still, if I have to pick a favorite, it's season 3.

Who is your favorite character? (Bonus: If you answered TK or Carlos, who is your favorite besides them?)

TK and Carlos are absolutely my favorite characters. I love them so much. I don't think I can even choose between them to pick out one single favorite. Aside from those two, I think my next favorite is Marjan.

If you could pick any character to be given a "begins" episode, who would it be and what would that episode look like?

Carlos. My dream season 5 episode would be somewhat of a "begins" episode for him, focusing on his relationship with his father and showing him working through his feelings about that and his grief. It would include flashbacks that would give us a chance to see more of Gabriel. I would also love it if Carlos was solving his father's murder in the present!

What is a scenario or storyline that you would like to see in season 5?

The one thing I want most from season 5 is great Tarlos content. Particularly, I want to see TK and Carlos working together as a team. They make a pretty good team, after all! I think it would be great if TK helped Carlos solve Gabriel's murder. Bonus points if this storyline involves both of them freaking out over the other being in danger!

What do you think is going on in this still?

There are so many potential scenarios! My best guess in this moment is that TK is upset and worried about Carlos--maybe he's being threatened by Gabriel's murderer or putting himself in a situation where he could be in danger. Carlos is trying to tell TK that everything is going to be ok when he gets a phone call that ends up being related to the danger somehow or potentially gives Carlos some information that will lead him into more danger.

Either that or maybe TK went to the pet store and they were all out of Lou's favorite crickets and so he came home devastated that he couldn't provide his lizard son's favorite food. Carlos, determined to not allow his husband to be disappointed, gets on the phone and begins calling every single pet store in Austin.

We all know about the elusive 5x05 spicy scene that has been teased, so what is your prediction for how it could possibly top 1x02?

To be honest, I'm not quite convinced that it could possibly be hotter than 1x02. I know Ronen said that it is, but he's very enthusiastic and recency bias could easily play a role here. However, I could imagine an excellent scene following a brief separation or a moment where one or both of them were hurt or in danger. Like some life-affirming/reunion/slamming each other up against the walls of the loft kind of sex! Really, it does not have to actually top 1x02 to make me happy. I'll be happy with anything!

Where was the Tarlos honeymoon in your mind?

Somewhere fairly close to home where they could have some peace and quiet and relax and enjoy each other's company and gaze at each other's wedding rings and get all sappy about it. What I want most for them is to be able to rest and be happy and in love, so that's how I picture the honeymoon.

There are so many incredible fan creations in this fandom. So many talented people! It's very hard to pick just one. The first that comes to mind in this moment after just thinking a lot about what I want from season 5 is How I linger to admire by @ladytessa74. Not too long ago I rewatched ‘Unlikely Event of An Emergency’ and like always I sobbed, no matter how many times I watched it.

But the feeling multiplied tenfolds because I was somewhat taken a back to your work ‘Where All This Loves Comes From”.More specifically the scene where Owen tells TK that being loved is the first thing he ever experienced on Earth. And also the one in 2020 where TK and Gwyn was on Spring Street before he was about to propose to Alex, and Gwyn reminded TK of how both of them love him.

I think it’s lovely how work can fandom can enhance and just unconsciously be adapted to the canon-show. Because now every time I think about the Strand family, my mind goes back to the work you have beautifully created. There’s so many works from canon compliant to canon divergence to AUs, that has been cemented in my mind and heart, even when the show or the pairing has ended, and that’s the beauty of fandom.

So I just want to say thank you, to you and so many amazing member of the fandom for being the heart to the journey of enjoying the show. Whether you are a creator or an enjoyer, on the sideline cheering on our lovely creators giving them loves and positive feedbacks.

The wonderful people who has been majorly open and accepting, the works created, the meta, the silly discussion has been majority part of why I enjoyed LS so much so I won’t be worried when the show end. So, I hope the show ending wouldn’t discourage a lot of people in joining and/or creating, because the main part of fandom has always been the community, the genuine love and excitement from fan.

😭 Oh wonderful wonderful anon! I don’t even know what to say. This is such an amazing message. That you remember anything about my fics after reading them completely knocks me off my feet. I get it, because so many fics live in my head rent free, but it just feels amazing to be told this about my own too, in particular during a tough week where I’ve been feeling quite worried about lots of things. And that Unlikely Event of an Emergency sparked you to think of it!! I’m hugely flattered, thank you!

Anyway - I completely agree with you about the works in his fandom. My love for LS and Tarlos goes beyond the show and belongs within the versions of the characters that are created by the writers here, some of whom I’ve been lucky enough to befriend, and others who I don’t really know but think are immensely cool and talented. I did have a bit of a hard time with the opening arc of season 4 (and the ending! Gosh) but the fics, gif sets, art, meta posts, made all the difference. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but when the show ends, the characters do not. They will be available to rewatch anyway, in hours and hours worth of episodes (which is more than some fandoms get) AND they become ours. Like a special gift. The fandom will change a bit after season 5 (in a way I hope includes new fans arriving!) but I will be here, I will be writing and reading, and I’m really happy to know lovely people like you will be too. I feel your positivity right in my heart, and I hope lots of other creators and enjoyers of the fandom see it too - because this is such a gorgeous love note to them, not just me 🥰 So I’m adding the 911 Lone Star and Tarlos tags to this.

This is the ultimate found family song to me! It makes me think about where everyone on the 126 was before the pilot, and how they didn't know that they were all about to meet these amazing people who would become family.

This song makes me thing about how these characters all have their own unique life stories and backgrounds, and how they proudly embrace it all. The 126 + Grace & Carlos showed up, said "this is who we are, and we're not going anywhere" and I think that's beautiful.

Also, the lyrics in the chorus specifically made me think of how Marjan probably inspires so many young people by having such a huge public following.

I saw a commercial for it during the superbowl in 2020 and wanted a new weekly show to watch so I caught up on the first three episodes in time to watch 1x04 live

Which season is your favorite?

Honestly it’s a toss up between 3 and 4. I think there are more episodes I like in season 3, but tarlos’ storyline in season 4 is so layered and feels a bit more deep and meaningful to me

Carlos. I think the more we learn about him, the more questions I have. It would be fun to actually see his past and his relationships with his parents and Iris or when or why he decided he wanted to become a police officer and what that conversation looked like with his family. I think there are a lot of things that would parallel nicely with present day.

What is a scenario or storyline that you would like to see in season 5?

I've talked about this a little bit before, but I think it would be tarlos starting off in a good spot at the beginning of the season until something pulls Carlos back into looking for the killer. TK would be involved too, whether that's being threatened or helping Carlos look, with all of it building into this big intense episode with a sweet and sexy relief

What do you think is going on in this still?

It would be fun if they're being threatened by the killer because Carlos is digging too much. I think a more realistic scenario could be someone from AFD or the Rangers calling about a lead in the case

We all know about the elusive 5x05 spicy scene that has been teased, so what is your prediction for how it could possibly top 1x02?

I think it'll be a catharsis of sorts, maybe after a fight or time spent apart. I think it'll be the two of them desperate for each other, knowing the other is safe and they're okay. maybe a parallel to 1x02 except one of them is already home and meets the other at the door. there's a trail of clothes as they kiss their way to their bedroom this time. probably some kind of emotional music and the low light of some lamps. bonus points if they get their pants off before the fade to black

Where was the Tarlos honeymoon in your mind?

I had them go to puerto vallarta in my honeymoon fic, but I could see it being along the gulf too. I know one of them said at a con that they spent it at home and it’s a sweet concept but we literally see them at a pool so sknajdnsjs

🎙️ What’s your favourite (used or unused) voice line in the games?

My favorite line that I constantly quote from IEYTD is Juniper's "WINE, GLASSES- AND OH IS THIS BRIE?????" or his other line of "Then you took the time to write "JUNIPER HATED ON IT" and sent THE BOTTLE TO ME". It's so funny because why did he say Brie with such a emphasis on it, it's hilarious. But also him whining about wine is really funny.

In the sense of the way I write my Phoenix: My Phoenix (Polyblank otherwise known as) is connected to a radio that he once carried years ago. When Prism was creating her robutlers and attempting to make them more "sentient" in a sense and more "human" she unknowingly made a sentient program on her computer titled "Nexus" which is similar to that of clippy. A former agent who was no longer in the field managed to , in a sense "possess" the former data on themselves. After a while, Phoenix latched onto the closest thing he knew, the radio. - I went on a long tangent but for the jist of it, Phoenix "resets" in his radio. I would imagine during the Death Engine while falling to their most certain death, he would've retreated back into the radio to recooperate. Obviously the radio would have been broken to smithereens but the Handler knows exactly how to fix it and here comes Phoenix crawling out the radio like nothing happened.

In a more closely related to the IEYTD franchise: I just think ultimately the game in itself is very silly and I just think that Agent Phoenix just defies all laws of how the world works in the game and just keeps defying death. Injured? Definitely, but alive. I like to think the TK Implant has something to do with it as well. There's NO WAY possible that the TK implant does not have side effects, both great and horrible.

Bug honestly let me indulge into the IEYTD more fandom (surprising). I didn't meet Bug through IEYTD but ey is pretty darn cool. Bug has watched me transform my John Juniper and Prism interpreations into OCS (I will still draw em for IEYTD but they'll be from now on tagged "IEYTD au" since I don't want too many people thinking they STRICTLY belong to IEYTD). I like silly and positive spin on things no matter who the characters are from the franchise :). Bug is a cool friend @cowboypigsy I mean come on buddy, I've know you for YEARS how could you NOT be here. Anyways, Pigsy sent me the IEYTD openings before a year ago and I listened to em like "wow these are so cool". Now here I am knee deep into this game. I took a listen again and got obsessed until I fixated on it. I then dragged Pigsy into the fixation with me and now we have agents, actors and cute gals.

There are other artists and writers I secretly lurk on (hi I'm too shy to engage sometimes) but I appreciate everyone's work here <3. I think this fandom is great and while every fandom has it's own flaws, I think most people here, if not, are pretty relaxed. Anyways shout out to the other artists and creators <3

Redemption week tag game

(1) Which 911 Lone Star character redemption moment is your favourite? The post Push Tarlos reunion and TK coming home. That "welcome home TK" just has me 😍😍😍 every time I watch it.

(2) Is there a character you think deserved more of an on screen redemption moment than we got in the show? Andrea and Gabriel. Carlos called TK his friend from work in front of them one ep because he was still afraid of upsetting them by telling them he has a boyfriend... and i'm pretty sure the next time we see them, they're coming over for dinner at the townhouse and they're happy to be there and spend time with TK as their son's boyfriend. With the way their behaviour has affected Carlos since he was a kid, that "journey" deserved more screentime.

(3) Is there a recurring (or even one-time guest) “villain” that you would like to see return with a redemption arc? Or if not, is there a “villain” you absolutely would not want to see get a redemption? I want the homophobic woman from season 1 back. Just for shits and giggles so tarlos can be the most obnoxiously loved up married couple everyone knows they can be. Let them break the no pda on the job rule just for her.

(4) Are there any unresolved conflicts from the first four seasons that you wish were reconciled on screen? Unpopular opinion maybe but I'd like to see Alex again. Have him come to Austin for work or something or have tarlos go to NYC and run into him and just let him and TK get some kind of closure now TK at least is in a better place. I'd like Alex to own up to the fact that cheating on TK was a dick move, but I also need TK to acknowledge his OD was not Alex's fault. And just kind of... realise they were all wrong for each other but it's water under the bridge now. They're not friends and never will be... but they can be *civil* if they run into each other in the street.

(5) Which main character would you like to have a more developed backstory? I want to know more about Marjan's family - what is their relationship like now after she and Salim broke off the engagement? Does she still talk to her parents? She mentioned her sister in her road trip ep and her parents sent her flowers but I want to know more! I NEED to know how Nancy got so much money, and I want to know about her date in six inch heels. Mateo - the way he stepped up with his old captain was so good and showed so much growth! I want to know more about THAT Mateo. Not the sitcom version. That never again please. And Carlos with his sisters. I'm 99,9999999% sure Tim &co wrote them in because Rafa kept saying he thought Carlos was raised by women... but I still want to know more about them. What it was like for the three of them growing up. Did he come out to them before or after he told Andrea and Gabriel? Did they know at all? What did they think about the Iris of it all? I wanna know!
