Charles Lynn Simmons

In January of 2004, fifty two year old Charles Lynn Simmons had a lot to look forward to- he was actively saving up money to open his own gem and mineral shop, something he was deeply passionate about, and to top it off, the annual Tucson Gem and Mineral Show was only a few days away (The Tucson Gem and Mineral Show is the largest, and oldest, gem and mineral show in the world.) Charles was enthralled with gems, and made a lot of friends within the network he was so passionate about. A childhood friend of over forty years, said this about Charles-

”Chuck almost had a sickness about rocks. Maybe that's not the right word--more like a passion. But he loved his rocks."

Charles was also described as very trusting and old fashioned- he didn’t use the internet or own a cell phone- but this unconditional trust in others often led him to loaning out money, or gems, to those within the community. A lot of people owed Charles Simmons a lot of money, but according to Patterson, these mounting debts didn’t seem to bother him too much. However, one particular associate of Charles owed him over $400,000 dollars in 2004, and Charles had sought legal council in order to be paid back.

Charles co-owned a mine in Morenci, Arizona, which took him away from home for weeks at a time in order to mine it. On January 14th, Charles had only been home for a few days time after returning from Morenci- all that is publicly known about his day was that he spoke to his girlfriend on the phone. After that, Charles vanished. When no one could get in touch with him again, his friends were confused- they knew that Charles was extremely excited about the upcoming Gem and Mineral show, and they knew he wouldn’t leave town without contacting anyone, first. He was reported missing two days later, after contacting a distance cousin in Phoenix to submit a report on their behalf.

On January 17, 2004, Charle’s Ford F-150 was located, sitting in a parking lot on the corners of North Stone and East Toole avenues, in Tucson. Strangely, his truck was parked across the street from a warehouse called Zee’s Gallery and Warehouse, owned by Zee Haag, a business associate of Charles. Zee is the man who owed Charles $400,000, whom Charles was seeking legal advice about. When inspecting the truck, police noted that the state of the truck was normal- nothing out of the ordinary. Charles girlfriend, Franny Young, spoke to 13 news about the truck, saying-

”It was unlike him to leave his truck there. It didn't look like anything was wrong with it, it was just there."

Police learned that when Charles disappeared, Zee rented a van, which he immediately drove to California. They were able to access the van, and found a dried liquid on the panel- police also found DNA that likely belonged to Charles. Despite these findings, without a body or concrete proof of foul play, the case went cold.

Police spoke to people in Southern California, considering that Charles may have been buried somewhere in the desert between Tucson and Southern California, but things only continued to grow colder in their investigation. The case hit a standstill until January 2015, when police got information that they deemed credible from an unknown source. This tip led them to an abandoned mine shaft deep within the Saguaro National Park, on the northwest end. Investigators extensively searched the abandoned mine, and the area surrounding it, but came up empty handed. After this, they felt like they were back to square one- downtown Tucson, focusing on the gem and mineral show, specifically. A detective on the case stated that he still felt like the tip about the mine shaft held some weight, however.

Police continue to monitor the gem and mineral show in Tucson every year, in hopes that someone may came forward with information, or that someone may “slip up” and say something. With lack of concrete evidence, no one has been named a suspect or person of interest in the disappearance of Charles Lynn Simmons, but they do say that no one has been cleared of any wrong doing, either.

Charles friends and long time girlfriend hope to bring him home one day, with Scott Patterson stating that all of Charles friends are dedicated to his memory, and will “pull out all the stops” in order to find him.

When last seen, Charles was described as standing at 6’1”, weighing 180 pounds, with brown hair and grey eyes, and a mustache. He also goes by the name Chuck. There has been no financial activity on Charles’ records since he disappeared.

BUT, either way I can see the responsibility that has been entrusted upon me!! I just still need to get the hang of my abilities. And uh, try to get out more. :/

Those abilities, by the way! I seem to be able to modify my own DNA, no idea how far I can take that and I've got some trouble controlling it, for now I just keep it to temporarily emulating Pokemon types. That's right, I can have types, and with this little raygun of my own design, I can fight like a Pokemon! >:)

Sometimes! If I can figure out how to do it without almost frying myself! It can get icky. But I invented beads that change color with my typing, which I'D call a win!!

Angelo (Gallade ♂, has mega stone). My ace! My co-captain! My partner through thick and thin!

Fangzie (Flygon ♂). Gets flying zoomies a lot, I'm one of the few trainers who can keep up with him ^_^

Cadet (Dhelmise). Soothing and creaky! Strong but sleepy! Doesn't try that hard, to be frank, but we're working on it.

Crimzon (Scizor ♀). Don't touch her wings or she'll chop your arm off! Nah not really. But sometimes she'll glare at you like she will.

Zee (Zangoose ♀). Really cuddly for a Zangoose's reputation! Much softer fur than what she looks like.

That's my usual team! Some others who sometimes join the fray:

Mercy (Audino ♂). The sole reason I'm not in medical debt! More of a lover than a fighter.

Vega (Starmie). A timid little guy. I keep hoping it could teach me more about space and maybe my own patron one day, but well. I imagine not having a mouth or hands gets in the way.

Soul (Solrock). A strange little guy, seems content just spinning around in the corner of the room a lot of the time.

Valkyrie / Val Jr (Unown 守). A rare variant recently adopted from the Unown Sanctuary! Chivalrous and a bit of a tsundere (with lack of a better term). Mostly just a travel companion whenever Zee wouldn't fit the situation, but that doesn't mean they can't hold their own in a fight!

Tried to give an in-character explanation for why someone like this isn't super out and about since I'm still relatively new to pkmn irl and bc of other issues (& general confusion a lot of the time 😭) I might not participate in much high stakes as of now.

Hey Zee, you uh… need a volunteer?

Zatanna's normal assistant was out of town this weekend, so she needed an extra set of hands on stage to help with her show, when she spotted Cute Timmy Drake in the crowd. "Dnah ruoy esiar," she mumbled under her breath before asking for a volunteer from the audience to assist her on stage this evening. When Tim's hand shot up, she used her wand to direct the spotlight onto him and called him up onto the stage.

Zatanna smiled and assured the crowd that there was nothing up this young man's sleeves, playing up the theatricality of it. Tim went along because he knew Zatanna, she was on the league, this would be fine, playing it up for the audience.

The first trick he tried to help with was a special egg trick where he'd drop it from a large height, and Zatanna would ensure the egg didn't break on impact. The egg responded to her assistant's mental state, so it should be fine. The only issue is... it cracked when it hit the floor, despite her charms. Seeing that sparked recognition in Zatanna. She understood what she had to do.

"Oh, such a shame, but look, only a single crack has appeared in the shell," she showed the imperfection to the audience. "Not quite perfect, but if we want to do magic, we're gonna need to bust this shell wide open. We'll be right back after a brief intermission."

Backstage, Zatanna quickly hurried Tim into a beautiful assistant getup. When he complained that he didn't fill it out, she told him to trust her. After all, she was the magical mistress, she'd make sure he didn't look like a fool out there. He put his normal shoes back on and walked back out on stage.

Zatanna raised the curtain and started the next trick, the interlocking rings, but the magic words she used for them weren't the normal fake magic words she always used. Instead... "worg staerb gniddub, riaf erom ecaf" which made Tim start to grow breasts to fill out the cups in his costume, though he didn't notice at first. His face also grew more feminine, shifting slightly, aided by budding makeup to accentuate the cheekbones.

The next trick was a vanishing cabinet, and the magic words this time were "tiuq t'nod ssa dna sgel eninimef," which made Tim's legs now more appropriately fill out his fishnets, and his ass was now juicy and bouncy.

When Tim stepped out on stage, his heels clacked on the stage. The crowd was loving the transformations to her new assistant, wondering how she was able to make the transition so quick, but so seamless.

The next trick employed the phrase "yawa knirhs, kcid sselesu dna etuc," making what had been a rather tight dancer's belt suddenly relievingly loose around his waist.

This last trick was her grand finale, cutting her assistant in half. This was her most intricate spell yet, since she needed to siphon off Tim's masculinity as part of the spell, otherwise all her work at cracking his egg would be for nothing. She locked the box up with him half in the top, half in the bottom, and closed her eyes. Tapping deep into her well of magic, she incanted "Era uoy ohw ees seye ruoy tel. Erom on eb, nam fo dnim!" The lights in the theater dimmed for a second as she split the two carts, Tim's legs still wiggling below as his male mind split off into the lower box, leaving a fresh perspective to see what Zatanna had done for her above. She recalled the breasts, the face change, her legs and ass and finally her dick, which she never liked, being rendered limp. She loved her new body, and when the boxes were joined, the male mind floated away, forgotten.

Zatanna invited her assistant to thank the crowd and state her name for them to honor her. She smiled and bowed, stating her new name, Elizabeth Drake.

Backstage, Elizabeth wanted to thank Zatanna for breaking her egg open, so she happily got on her knees between the magician's legs and showed her gratitude, slurp by sloppy slurp.

Look, I'm just saying: He's clearly watched the show.

You've got Mammoth and Shimmer (who are NOT typical Flash villains and their appearance in this series was surprising to say the least) kidnapping metahuman children to feed a metahuman trafficking ring and they're finding kids based on 'a marker in their DNA' (cough cough metagene)

Then you have Klarion the Witch Boy (again, not a Flash villain. Very surprising inclusion) with red magic (which is a YJa thing) and Wally outsmarting him with sigils that Zatanna taught him. (Zatanna, who Wally calls 'Zee' despite them not being friends but apparently they are now)

Then you've got "The Flame has returned!" which is... OBVIOUSLY not a copyright safe way of using the line "The Wall-Man has arrived!" and never before seen 'stealth suits' for Wally and KF

Then, you know, sneaking through the vents on a stealth mission. Something comics Wally has never done before.

That's not even mentioning Wally's whole deal with magic or happy harbor.

I'm just saying. The man has watched Young Justice. The man wrote for Young Justice. I'm fairly certain he's building a team based off of the season 1 Young Justice dynamics.

He's got the redheaded impulsive speedster loudmouth with a heart of gold, the magic kid with insane untapped power and a penchant for sneaking out, the snarky spy kid who relies on distance explosions, the Atlantean and the invulnerable powerhouse with super strength. He just needs an alien that's new to earth, an archer that's 'over it' but secretly cares. And maybe also the last minute addition with energy projection.

Adams is literally two-three characters away from having the team. Lian could so easily be that archer character. And he has the new alien Kent kids or Mar'i for the alien character. Tai or Kelly would work for the energy projection character as Green Lanterns.

I'm just... this is how I see it playing out to be 100% honest with you guys. Adams references this show way too often for it to not influence his team in some way.

God. Okay. Makes 100% sense now why Adams changed Jai's powers.

He made Jai the demolitions expert. And started hyping up Jai's new obsession with spy stuff. And had Jay do stealth missions. And has him writing mission logs during recess.

Adams 100% is making Jai the 'spy kid' of this new team.

Adams is hyping Maxine's magic because she's the magic kid. Irey is the speedster. Jai is the spy kid. Bobby is the super strong invulnerable powerhouse. Cerdian is the Atlantean.

Now the question is: does editorial let him add Lian as the archer? Does editorial let him add Mar'i as the alien? Or does he have to get one of the Kent kids for the alien spot?

Can he add Tai as their energy construct kid????
