one person said i should so i’m going theatre kid on main here’s the musicals i associate with jrwi campaigns
riptide: anastasia. chip just Is dmitry idk what to tell you. my petersburg is the first song on my chibo playlist. also please imagine with me: pre ep 53 jay and still. imagine with me and sob
prime defenders: the easy answer is be more chill but anyone who’s followed me for more than a month can see my actual answer coming from a mile away because it’s nerdy prudes must die. listen to the summoning and tell me that isn’t ashe and the trickster. you literally can’t. also mid s2 ghostknife is SOOOOO if i loved you and closer to the finale they are so cool as i think i am reprise. alternative answer is the lighting thief because i think about dakota and good kid so so much
apotheosis: okay weird pick for this one. the bifrost incident by the mechanisms. which isn’t technically a musical but i think it fits well, i’m pretty sure i’ve talked about rumi and odin and peter and loki on here before? but thanatos is also very thor. ooo you wanna listen to this weird little steampunk space band sooooo bad
blood in the bayou: sorry for two starkid musicals on this list but like. i have no answer other than the guy who didn’t like musical. like otherworldly goop infecting and replacing people and they become part of a hivemind? how could i not. becky and kian singing join us and die. rolan singing let it out. come on. oh also bonus crazytown from 35mm is the rand song ever
the suckening: natasha pierre and the great comet of 1812. you have to hear me out on this one okay shilo is SO natasha rostova coded. also edward twilight is anatole kuragin coded but that’s much more cursed so i think about it less. arthur has the same depressed old man energy as pierre

Anastasia (Umeda Arts, 2023)
Tumblr media
I’m flattered that the overwhelming response to my poll was to bring back reviews :D Since I posted that, Takarazuka has unfortunately been involved in a terrible tragedy (additional information here). I may review the Takarazuka performances I was able to see at a later date, but at the moment I’m going to take some space from doing so.
In the meantime, a very bright spot in a long-awaited trip otherwise filled with multiple bouts of shocking news was the Broadway musical Anastasia, featuring Asami Hikaru (my ご贔屓, kamioshi, bias to end all biases, for those who joined during COVID and somehow missed this) amidst a rather star-studded cast. Getting to see Anastasia was quite special, not only because it’s been 4 1/2 years since I was last able to travel to Japan and see Komu, but also because I HAD tickets to the original Spring 2020 run before, well, you know (not to mention the ruined plans to see fave #2 as the same role in the tkz version). On top of that, it was good.
The Broadway version of Anastasia follows two con men in post-revolution Russia, Dmitri and Vlad, who, amidst rumors that Anastasia Romanov has somehow survived the execution of the rest of the royal family, accidentally find the real one while auditioning actresses to pretend to be her for reward money.
Given that my bias to end all biases taidan’d 17 years ago, I’ve seen my fair share of Japanese theater outside of Takarazuka in my quest to spend as much time in her presence as humanly possible. Usually, I find the non-OG cast members (especially men!!) unimpressive to the point of superfluousness. Imagine my shock when I found myself raising my opera glasses when Komu wasn’t even on stage.
Ranking!!
Anya: Aoi Wakana / Kinoshita Haruka
Tumblr media
Anya is a poor street sweeper with amnesia who has a feeling SOMEONE is waiting for her in Paris (turns out it’s her grandmother, the dowager empress). I was supposed to see each actress twice, but due to the flu making its rounds through the cast, I ended up seeing Wakana three times and Haruka only once… which is unfortunate, because Haruka is an absolute powerhouse, and Wakana is a TV actress. The cast lineup for my first of four viewings was absolutely flawless, and I wish it had been the finale instead (especially because I was in shock from Sora taidan dropping like 3 hours prior to curtain). Haruka has a Broadway-quality voice, and her acting not only made sense, but also lacked that peculiar anime-like delivery that most of the Japanese actors I’ve seen have in spades (IYKYK). Although perhaps she returned from flu recovery too quickly and didn’t have her whole voice, Wakana’s singing wasn’t really up to the challenge of the role; all of Anya’s big solo’s were rendered anticlimactic by very flat long notes. I also found her acting to be over the top and desperate, whereas Haruka’s was quite nuanced.
Dmitri: Kaiho Naoto / Aiba Hiroki / Utsumi Akiyoshi
Tumblr media
Dmitri is the romantic lead, something of a street urchin who starts off by hatching a moneymaking scheme to produce a fake Anastasia, and ultimately gives it all up after falling in love with Anya. I got to see Kaiho and Aiba, and to be honest, the only reason I’m not mad I had to see Aiba once is because that day Kaiho Naoto was Gleb. I know I am very late to this party, but this was the first time I got to see Kaiho Naoto live, and hooooooooooo boy. That man’s voice gave me chills, he acts like a normal person and not a cartoon, and his facial expressions are SO dynamic. His fans in the FIRST ROW had their opera glasses up, and now I take back making fun of them in my head. Incredible casting choice for Dmitri; he did an amazing job going through the full range of emotions and showing character growth, plus he looked so good in that scruffy little outfit. Tbh, marry me (Aiba on the other hand was an anime boy made flesh and blood and I can’t say I cared for it).
Vlad: Osumi Kenya / Ishikawa Zen
Tumblr media
Vlad is Dmitri’s old man friend, a former aristocrat and adulterous lover to Lily. This one is slightly less cut and dry because both actors had their merits, but alas, I’m a big Ishikawa Zen fan. Osumi Kenya is a dancer and Zen is not, and that was quite apparent in any scene with choreography. Other than that, I quite preferred Zen’s knockout voice, nuanced acting, and overflowing kindness. He’s irl bffs with Komu, so I found his Vlad’s chemistry with Lily to be more compelling; but he also integrated himself seamlessly into each cast, despite that I imagine it’s tricky to get the best possible rapport going when the roles are changing all the time. Osumi definitely gave his Vlad quite a bit of enjoyable energy and unique flair, but ultimately, I thought his Vlad was a bit over the top (he’d be a huge hit in a kids’ show), and he seemed to be acting next to rather than with the rest of the cast.
Gleb: Kaiho Naoto / Douchin Yoshikuni / Tashiro Mario
Tumblr media
Gleb, a Bolshevik general trying to fill the shoes of his father who relished executing the Romanov family, is the villain of the show. I was SUPPOSED to see all three Glebs, and I’m quite sad I didn’t, but the flu took Tashiro Mario. I ended up seeing Douchin three times and Kaiho once. This is REALLY HARD, and it’s likely impossible to separate out my feelings toward Kaiho’s Gleb in isolation, because Dmitri, without Kaiho in the role, was not compelling, so the overall impact of the show was less on the not-Douchin day. Kaiho showed up again with the voice that gives you chills, and while his performance throughout most of the show was a bit more low-key, his final scene, in which he attempts to get Anya to admit she’s playing around and return to Russia lest he be forced to shoot her on the spot if she is in fact the real Anastasia, was ABSOLUTELY FUCKING UNHINGED (spit flying everywhere, no wonder everyone got sick). Douchin, however, also has quite a powerful voice, and I think overall he did a better job of coming off as creepy and weird. He was awkward in kind of an is-this-guy-ok way, his barely concealed feelings for Anya were both clearer and more unsettling, and he felt believably indoctrinated into an ideology vs. just this is the villain because we said he’s the villain. His slick, jet-black hair and choice to wear light blue colored contacts also really enhanced the evil image. I really regret not getting to see Tashiro Mario, but I think my ever so slight preference here is Douchin just because his presence balanced the rest of the cast.
Lily: Asami Hikaru / Marcia / Horiuchi Keiko
Tumblr media
Lily is the dowager empress's lady-in-waiting, a former countess who, in her younger days, cheated on her boring husband with Vlad and is currently tending to the dowager empress in refugee-laden Paris. LBR, I didn’t fly across the world to see the other two (although 3 or so days into my trip there was a SCARE where Komu was announced out with an injury, and I thought I might have to… but she recovered in time for my first show!). Ohhhh it was so nice, I missed her more than my COVID-era complacence led me to believe. Lily was a very fun and pleasant Komu role for me. Homegirl is 51 now (don’t talk to me) and fresh taidansha like Tamaki Ryou are getting the heroines she played a decade and a half ago, but Lily isn’t exactly someone’s mom either. She’s funny, and sassy, and wears sick costumes, and has DANCE NUMBERS! Which she did without looking injured at all! With the exception of like 20 seconds in the prologue, Lily does not appear at all until Act 2, but Act 2 is very juicy. I think I liked the look-Vlad’s-back tango even better than her piano-top nightclub solo, but both were utterly delightful. She also has great chemistry with her Yukigumi top senpai Asami Rei, comfortable yet reverent (just like in real life!). I juuuUUUUuuUUUUuuuSsstttt wish they would lower the key for her… just a little… as a treat.........
Dowager Empress Maria: Asami Rei (more like Asami SLAY)
Tumblr media
Y’all… seeing Asami Rei live has BEEN on my bucket list, and the experience did not disappoint. Her voice may be going, but it’s completely age appropriate, and she could have done literally anything up on that stage without it ruining the impact of her presence. I legit inadvertently gasped "mother" into my mask when she made her appearance in a black and silver bejeweled gown to attend the ballet… serving boatloads of charisma uniqueness nerve and talent at 73, to say the least.
The ensemble was also a force and the songs were expertly directed, giving the whole show a stunning sound that has been rare in my experience with Japanese musicals (part vocal talent, part book made for Broadway). The play-within-a-play scene at the ballet was genuinely impressive (it's been a while since I've seen a man jump that high). All in all, a treat to watch!

It's really funny bring obsessed with history while being in fandoms where canon is set around the same time as your favourite historical time periods
Like with Anastasia, I could be writing romance or cute found family fluff or whatnot but NO. No. My brain instead thinks about what Dmitri's life would have been like and would he have been a part of the Bolsheviks probably look at that angst at realising that what you supported and believed would get you equality and a decent rachmaninoffing life turned out to be a lie the trust issues to come out of that and also Russia economically at the time was a mess he probablybdoesnt know how to read and was probably sold to a factory at some point would he have escaped conscription from the civil war and also what if he was Jewish that makes sense canonically I can make this work
Also AFTER the canon Anastasia story like hello they would have kids during ww2 era imagine the chaos and potential story ideas to come out of that do they stay in France or do they go backbto Russia what if Dmitri was Tsar what if he was tsarbof Russia and they split the USSR in two so dtalinbwouldnt get iffy WHAT IF DMITRI WAS TSAR DURINF WW2 yes with the stalin/Hitler Alliance they had before barbarossa that would be chaos and the family getting split apart I could have the children eacapeling to London and having to deal with the blitz or Anya getting stuck on Germany or whatnot and if we bring back the idea that Dmitri is jewish-
You see, I have too much fun with this. Not only done hetero splurge on multiple interests, I get to educate people about the brutality of history through their comfort characters.
Same goes for Tintin lie what if he grew up during ww2 and Nazi occupation he would have DEFINITELY been in the resistance and could have written articles in their newspapers speaking of which whatbif he was involved in le faux soir and also what about the 20th convoy does he get caught does he hide in France and join the resistance there does he join the maquis and what about his family how do they factor in do they support the Nazis or do they die like what if his mother was blind what if his dad was Flemish WHAT IF HIS DAD WAS GERMAN AND MOVED TO BEKGIUM IN THE 20S DUE TO THE GERMAN ECENOMIC CRISIS what if they were in Berlin for kristallnacht what if-
DO YOU SEE MY PROBLEM
even fanfiction becomes historical fiction.

And yet again I'm maladaptive daydreaming about an Anastasia AU for my oc and Jim Henson characters.
Shy is Anastasia
Gonzo is Dmitry
Kermit is Vlad
Miss Piggy is Countess Lily (imagining her and Kermit singing The Countess and the Common Man gives me Feelings™️, and Land of Yesterday is exactly the kind of flashy stage number she'd love to have)
Hilda is the Queen Mother/Anastasia's Nana
And because I think it's funny, Scooter is Gleb
And just. I fucking love this stupid musical don't start with me

A couple of days ago my wife and I rewatched Anastasia and constantly joked about it, and now I see this post. I don’t understand why several people write in quotes that Dmitry is Vex. We literally have the PERFECT Dmitry - Vax. Just imagine the scenes on the steamship, or the scenes on the steamtrain, but it's Perc'ildan.
The Legend of Vox Machina is a deeply philosophical show that asks important questions such as: “what if the Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov had a gun?”

Anastasia: The Musical - Dmitry x Reader, fluff for @locke-writes 1.5k Writing Challenge!
tw: mentions of death
word count: 1.3k
prompt: “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been and I blame you”
A/N: i finished it! and on valentine’s day, no less. i hope you like it!
Summary: A snowstorm sends Dmitry out into the cold and (Y/n) left pacing, wondering if he’ll return
Tumblr media
The snow had started to fall in the morning, and by midday, it was a blizzard, painting the world in cold shades of grey. Harsh snow wasn't anything new, this time of year, but weather like this always swept in a feeling of dread - a bitter sort of restlessness that lay at the heart of every Russian, stirring worry in the pits of their stomachs and sending tremors down their spine. (Y/n) had slept the evening prior with the distinct feeling that something in the air was changed, and when they woke to sleeted streets and snowy oblivion, they knew the feeling wasn't going to go away.
Not until the wind stopped howling and the skies stopped damning them from above.
When Dmitry woke from his slumber, his hair was mussed and his smile was wide. It melted like frost on a summer day when he opened his eyes and saw the rigidity of (Y/n)'s stance. He made no sound of greeting, only stood and grabbed their blankets, walking over to wrap (Y/n) in warmth from behind.
(Y/n) sighed, their tight chest, making them shudder. Dmitry rested his head on their shoulder, something poignant in the way he paused - as though he didn't want to disturb their thoughts but wanted to be in them, nonetheless.
"It'll be a blizzard." And (Y/n)'s statement was as certain as the earth beneath their feet, unshakable, solid, and omnipresent.
Dmitry kissed their cheek, and when he spoke, his words tickled their skin. "I'll be back before the worst of it starts."
"Promise?"
"Always."
He kissed (Y/n) again and then slipped out of their grasp.
It wasn't immediately after his departure that (Y/n) started to worry, but by midday, they were pacing. The cold seeped beneath their skin, the snow obscured their vision, and the wind rattled (Y/n)'s thoughts as though their worries were two spiders in a jar, only waiting for a reason to tear the other apart. What was once a layer of snow became a mountain, the storm having deposited so much weather, walking through it would be like wading through water. By now, the ice was thick and the wind was terrible - all it would take is one small step in the wrong direction, and Dmitry would never come home.
Part of (Y/n) insisted that Dmitry was strong and stubborn, and he was especially bullheaded when it came to them. Not even Death himself could stop Dmitry from coming home - a blizzard like this stood no chance. Not when Dmitry's smile was like the sun itself - able to quell any storm into submission, able to burn the frost off of (Y/n)'s aching heart, able to bring something as beautiful as summer in the dead of winter.
For Dmitry, the snow would be a minor inconvenience in a world pitted against him from the beginning. One storm was nothing to worry about.
But another part of (Y/n), a more conniving and sinister force within them, said otherwise. This world was cruel to people like them; hope could turn its back on them easier and faster than breathing. Rarely did the world take pity on the likes of them, and even rarer did it give them the smallest of sympathies. Dmitry had been a boon against the ceaseless tide of misfortune; perhaps (Y/n)'s blessings had run out. It wouldn't be the first time (Y/n) lost someone, and it wouldn't be the last.
But could they survive losing Dmitry? Or would he steal everything they were, with his swift departure?
Already, (Y/n) could feel themself slipping away, just like Dmitry had, that morning.
Thud.
Something hit the door with a force that could knock the old wood off of its hinges, had Dmitry not fortified it with everything he had. (Y/n) jumped at the abrupt sound, and their heart ran a marathon in their chest.
Thud.
(Y/n) unbolted the door and the wind knocked them back, whistling and moaning, ushering in frozen snow and icy sleet. Dmitry, wrapped in the thinnest of coats, stumbled in, and together they pushed the door shut.
The door clicked in place, but the wind still battered against its frame. For a moment, all (Y/n) could hear was heavy breathing and the wails of a ghostly, vengeful wind.
Dmitry, his cheeks so cold they almost looked purple, breathed against his curled fingers. When he caught (Y/n)'s stare, still panicked despite his presence, he offered a lame smile. "Back before the worst of it?" he whispered, his voice hoarse and shaking.
(Y/n) breathed out, a mix between relief and exasperation, "You...Dima..." He turned to them, laughter in his eyes, and (Y/n) could feel the tension in this chest start to dissipate. He was safe, and somehow in his usual spirits. How was it that he managed to nearly die and laugh all the while? (Y/n) shook their head, trying to stuff down the happiness that was growing in their chest. "I'm going to kill you."
"Oh?"
(Y/n) lunged to the side, moving to grab him by his collar, but Dmitry shot forward and quickly turned around, putting his freezing hands on the back of (Y/n)'s neck. They cringed and cried out a string of shrill expletives and Dmitry pulled (Y/n) to his frigid chest, his clothes stiff from frost but thawing already.
Dmitry kissed their cheek - just like he had earlier that morning, and his lips were cold and chapped.
"You promised you'd be home sooner."
"I recall saying 'before the worst of it' and seeing as there's no way to tell exactly what the worst of it is—"
"Dima!"
He chuckled, and (Y/n) could feel the rumble in his chest, the feeling somehow warm, despite it all. (Y/n) closed their eyes and allowed for their fear to melt off of their heart, for their thoughts to calm to contentment. Standing there, (Y/n) waited until all they could feel was the beat of Dmitry's heart.
"We need to get you out of these clothes."
"That's rather forward of you."
(Y/n) smacked the arm that was wrapped around them and he laughed again, the sound loud enough to cover the wind.
They rolled their eyes. "So you don't get sick, Dmitry."
"That's not nearly as fun."
But Dmitry untangled himself from their embrace and got to work stripping off layers of wet clothing - jackets, scarves, and socks - and (Y/n) found him another set of clothes to wear. It was still cold, and with little else to do, (Y/n) and Dmitry settled into bed prematurely, talking in hushed voices. It was dark and peaceful, and while (Y/n) couldn't see Dmitry's face, they could tell by the sound of his voice that he was tired.
After hearing about Vlad's latest adventure, sneaking valuables from the abandoned palace, (Y/n) closed their eyes with a smile. Silence wrapped the two souls comfortably, shielding them from the weather that raged above and the uncertainty that swirled around. For a moment, (Y/n) thought that Dmitry had fallen asleep, but then he spoke, his voice almost dreamy - thick and far away, soft but sure.
"I'm the happiest I've ever been."
(Y/n) hummed, not daring to open their eyes, lest the spell be broken and they find out it had all been a dream.
"I blame you for it."
(Y/n) opened their eyes and shifted to the side so that they could see Dmitry's smiling face, his gentle features reflecting a pure, and beautiful bliss. "You blame me?"
Dmitry dipped his head in a nod. "I mean, I could blame my good looks for it, but that's not nearly as fun." (Y/n) scoffed, and in the dim light of the storm, they thought Dmitry winked.
"Well, I blame all of you for my happiness - good looks included."
"I'm glad," Dmitry murmured, and he leaned forward to kiss them gently, like the sun kissing the earth; all the universe seemed to pause for Dmitry to pull away so that the two might have calm in their precious moment.
Dmitry closed his eyes to sleep and (Y/n) came closer, kissing his eyelids before allowing themself to drift off, as well.

Two things I wish happened in Anastasia the musical
Dmitry and Gleb interacting more. Like, so much more.
At the end of Still/The Neva Flows (Reprise) after Anya asks “what are you going to tell them” and Gleb replies with “that I’m not my father’s son after all” i wish Gleb gave Anya a forehead kiss or some other sign of affection. Because that man loved her so fuckin much
It would’ve been amazing and I would’ve cried.

She Used to Be Mine - Dmitry Imagine [Anastasia (Broadway)]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Title: She Used To Be Mine
Pairing: Dmitry (Broadway version) x reader
Musical Prompt Chosen: She Used to be Mine from Waitress
Requested: By @kayd13 (why can’t I tag you, what the fuck?)
Warnings: Bad parents, abandonment, fear and insecurity (how fun does that sound?)
Summary: Luck isn’t on everyone’s side during a revolution. Some are hit harder than others. The reader finds the worst part of it all waiting them and looks for help from someone who has always been there.
Author’s Note: I know this song is about pregnancy. I’m reinterpreting the lyrics for this narrative. Also, these musical prompts don’t have to be for musical characters, it’s just a coincidence that a musical character was what we decided on. Also, I’m terrified that I’m not spelling his name right but that’s the way it was spelled on Wikipedia. Finally, this is shorter than I was hoping it would be.
-------------------------------------------------------
“Dmitry,” I yelled as I slammed the door. Dmitry was staying with Vlad and it was the safest place I knew... at least now.
Dmitry came running over to me. He pulled me into his arms and kissed my head quickly. I was shaking as I cried into his chest. He rubbing my back and mumbled into my ear. I had finally calmed down a little bit but he didn’t let go of me.
“What happened,” he asked.
“Everything is going wrong,” I said quietly. “My parents are calling me an embarrassment. I lost my job. You’ve always been my only friend. I’ve got nothing.”
“You’ve got me,” he promised.
“I just... I want to go back in time,” I stepped back from him, letting him grab my hand. “I was so brave when I was younger. I was carefree and brave. I miss that. Look at me now. I’m weak and a coward.”
“No you aren’t,” Dmitry shook his head.
“Look at me,” I mumbled, finally dropping his hand. “I’m nothing close to what I was before. I’m weak. I’ve fallen apart. I used to look forward to what lies ahead and now I don’t. I’m terrified of everything. Life dealt me a bad hand and I can’t find any good cards to play. I want to go back to who I was before. Running and being free. Helping my family. Being something great.”
“You are something great,” he argued. “Yes, you used to be care free. But now you understand so much more. You aren’t perfect but no one is. I would rather have you now than anyone else. You are this beautiful mix of everything. I wouldn’t want you to change for anything.”
“I don’t even recognize myself anymore,” I felt more tears fall as I looked down. “I look so torn down, so hopeless.”
“I don’t see that,” he replied. “Do you wanna know what I see?”
I nodded.
“I see someone who may be at their lowest point, but is going to come back with a little more fight,” he started, grabbing my hand again and stepping closer to me. “I see someone who has learned so much in life at nineteen... far too young to have to experience those things. I see someone who taught me what love actually was. Showed me how to love people. I strive to be more like you. I love you.”
“Did you really mean all of that,” I asked. He nodded with a small smile. “I love you too.”
He pulled into his arms again. I moved back enough and leaned up to kiss him softly. I finally let a genuine, non-sarcastic smile form on my lips as I pulled back and hid my face in his chest, this time without sobbing.

Favourite ship to write?
Dmitri/Anastasia (Dmitry/Anastasia depending on how you spell his name, it's confusing and I will rant about it if you ask me anyway-)
I know I haven't posted too much about them lately, but they are my favourite ship, especially to write.
Number 1: they're historical. Bonus points already. I can put them in WHATEVER fun historical events are happening at the time (eheheh world war 2) and explore how that impacts their relationship.
Number 2: I feel like they have such an equal relationship. They both provide a family, home and love for each other, they understand a lot of what the other has gone through and they complete each other really nicely. They're similar enough in their personalities to be close, but not so similar that they clash.
Number 3: I love to write the fight they had in the actual film and musical. I once saw a comment saying that Dmitri/y is abusive and that their relationship is toxic, but I beg to disagree. While yes, there is a lot of miscommunication (and a bit of manipulation at the beginning,) it's important to understand that 1) Dmitri/y's character arc is incredibly big and by the end he is not selfish or manipulating anyone and 2) have you considered a thing called trauma? Lemme explain.
Imagine that you have spent your entire life impoverished and working in horrible, dangerous factories or in other poor working conditions, you never gained an education, your parents died tragically when you were young (if we're going via the musical, your dad was arrested and taken to a labour camp to die), you've probably been betrayed, abused and beaten several times, you have to steal in order to survive, and somehow after the revolution you were praying would happen, the country you've been stuck in your entire life is somehow worse than before. Oh how glorious your life is, hmm. Now, if I told you that you could run away from this horrible country and your life and start afresh, you could live by the seaside in a nice, warm house owned completely by you, you could have hot water and a bed and enough food to fill you always and you could be rich, BUT you have to convince a girl who could possibly by the missing grand Duchess that she's Anastasia, would you?
OF COURSE YOU WOULD THIS IS YOUR ONLY TICKET OUT OF THIS HELLHOLE! And that's exactly what Dmitri/y did AND HE HAS PERFECTLY VALID REASONS! His motives were good, his actions were not. And he realises this after Anya blows up at him about how hurt she is and he realises that not only did he come to finally trust someone again, that person trusted him back and he just destroyed it. He recognises what he did wrong and (in the movie) he apologises! In his own way of almost getting killed for her, which if you compare with Dmitri/y at the beginning he would NOT have done that so clearly he's trying to make it up for his mistakes, but anyway, in short he's a traumatised boy who trying to relearn how to actually care for people and trust them after he's been absolutely shattered by people. (Add my own personal headcanon that he's Jewish into that and OH BOY DOES THAT HURT MORE-)
Number 4: I love writing them with children. I feel like they're absolutely amazing parents who care for each other and their children and it's so cute to me
Anyway this ended up becoming longer than I anticipated whoops-
Sorry about that rant-

“You look beautiful” kiss!
Tumblr media
Types of Kisses:
@mintdrop & @ofthesilverlining
She was frustrated. Easy to see why when one considered their current situation. A lavish gathering in the chilled structure of an Ishgard hall. Hien had never known Kiri to be the type to parade herself like a doll in gowns that would make both their pockets weep. She had never even presented the need to paint her lips or nails. He was certain there were days when she even loathed the idea of braiding her hair. But now it was being asked of her, expected in fact, of such a treasured guest.
Hien felt pity for her, truly, but such was life. Even he had been given something akin to a dress code. Ser Aymeric himself had offered it to the young prince, he could hardly refuse such a generosity.
Now it was a matter of waiting for his warrior to finish her argumentative tantrum on the other side of the door that separated them.
“How bad could it be?” Hien dared to inquire, leaning against the frame of the door and adjusting his own waistcoat. It was stuffy, certainly, and didn’t allow much in the way of arm movement, but he would simply have to make due.
“You aren’t subjected to suffocation,” Kiri groaned. Faintly he could hear the punctuated clicks of her heels to the stone floors. She must have been pacing about.
“Can I be of assistance?” Not that Hien had any business understanding Ishgardian attire, but he had felt helpless otherwise. When nothing but silence answered him, the prince leaned on the brass knob of the door and twisted it open.
Beyond the door his pale eyes brightened at the sight of her. Dismayed and struggling with delicate ties that laced up her back. The dress had been designed for her, carefully crafted for the dragoon to match not only her sizes but her personality as well. Ruby colored fabric cascaded from her hips and spilled to the floor, puddled slightly at her feet; all of it sparkling as if with stolen stars right out of the midnight sky. The design wasn’t that of traditional Ishgardian make, or at least what Hien had seen of other women wearing. Simple and clean cut, shaping her figure.
“...Are you gunna help or stare, vulture?” Kiri huffed, a light dusting of pink glowing just beneath her mismatched eyes.
Hien crossed the room in several quick strides and swept her up in his arms. She felt small in his arms, a precious treasure that needed his protection. His heart felt close to bursting. She was beautiful. Even in her frustration, everything about her was enchanting. Hien didn’t allow Kirishimi time to protest or argue, instead bringing his lips to her freckled cheek.
“Hien?”
He pulled away to see mismatched eyes curiously studying him, as if he had gone mad in a matter of seconds. But he smiled and brushed aside stray locks of snowy white hair.
“By the kami... You have no idea how beautiful you are.”

Could you do one with Dmitry with the location being the airport?
Broadway Week!!!
“Dmitry, please,” you beg. “You have to go.”
He holds your hands close to his chest. “I’m not leaving you. We’ll figure out some way for both of us to go. We can-”
“Dmitry. I know you’ll find a way for me to leave, but you can’t stay here. It’s not safe.”
“It’s not safe for you either.”
“I’ll be okay. We’ll be okay.” You give him a gentle kiss. “I promise. Now, go.”
Dmitry’s eyes glaze over. “I love you. Now and forever.” His voice breaks, making you want to change your mind.
Now and forever. I love you, and I’ll see you soon.”
