I feel like I can rarely find bed recolors that I like and in this style, so I made some! recolor of @awingedllama bedding with 20 swatches :)

EA's leaves are kind of dull, and I personally think TNW's are too bright, so here's my spin on a leaf default + a new mod :-D

Leaf variety mod

There are 4 different leaf textures in the game files but only one is used. I talked with @shastakiss some years(?) ago and she mentioned an unfinished mod Neder started working on to make the leaf use different textures. Unfortunately, Neder couldn't get it to work. Shasta kindly sent me said mod and I handed it over to @lamare-sims last year who of course managed to fix it (thank you so much once again, you're a legend!!)

Note #1: worth mentioning, this mod will only affect leaves that spawn after you've installed the mod! the same goes for my mesh fix included in the default below. Note #2: if you already have this mod in you dl-folder, delete that file and use the one from this download if you're planning on using my default (otherwise my uv-map and texture edit will not work).

Defaults

Replaces all 4 leaf-textures with new, more colorful and less blocky textures. I also edited the "effect"-textures of single leaves (the ones falling from the trees). This default can be used without the mod mentioned above, but then only the "original" texture will be used - see second image.

The leaves that spawns under the tree (the one sims can't rake), it was impossible to make it look good with any of the four textures, so I re-mapped it and gave it it's own texture (256x256px). There's also an optional default for the rake included, I edited a tiny error in the mesh and gave it a texture makeover. I made a separate LOD90-default for the leafpile (meaning: the mesh in neighborhood view) and instead of replacing the textures I repo'd them, meaning that the LOD90 default works with any leaf texture default you might use (it will only be showing one texture in neighborhood view).

Texture sizes are all the same as EA's:

Leaves: 512x512px x4 (my default +1: 256x256px)

Rake: 128x256px

Leaf effects: 32x32px x3

I edited Sophie-David's leaf pile pet bed (the mesh) and repo'd it to leafpile_txtr, meaning the mesh will now pick up my default (or any other default you might have for leafpile_txtr, and if none - EA's original texture). The mesh now needs seasons + pets, since it's repo'd. Their recolors are not included, so be sure to download them from the link above if you want them and replace their mesh with mine!

I also edited Shakeshaft's leaf cover mesh (warning T$R) , I repo'd it to one of the leaf textures and made recolors - also repo'd - to the rest of the textures. This mesh and recs now need seasons, this also means that the mesh and recolors* can be used without my default.

*with the exception of rc4, which is repo'd to my custom leaf texture, found in my leaf default.

Recommended mod

I recommend simler90's Gardening Rake Leaf Pile Mod or jfade's leaf pile fix (I have no idea what the difference between those two mods are, they edit the same thing so choose one of them).

Nothing in this download is dependent on each other* so feel free to pick and choose what you want :-) remember you can only have one default for the leaves, meaning that if you have any other default (1, 2, 3, 4) or Shakeshaft's/Sophie-David's original meshes, make sure you remove them before installing my files. Everything has been compressed to reduce file size, as usual. Do let me know if I messed up anywhere!

there's just not enough clothes for infants so i decided to take matters into my own hands and recolored a bunch of items in fun colors and patterns - 15 items and 31 files in total 🌞

everything is base game compatible

custom cas and swatch thumbnails

most items come in both solids and patterns, some even have fun colorblock swatches 🧃

i used a few patterns from this set by @pluto-sims and a graphic from @woosteru's graphics folder

some ea infant bottoms have an overlapping texture issue on the waistband - therefore my recolors do also. you won't be able to see it if you put a top on your infant, as that will go over the waistband

thanks to my beloved @cookiesandcrumbs for fixing an issue with one of the meshes 💕

90 GENETICIZED SKINTONES + DEFAULTS

First of all, Happy holidays!

This is my second post, and the whole purpose of this Tumblr account is for me to share Sims 2 content that I personally use.

Now, for my game, my favorite skintone set is by oepu, which were defaulted by Sadisticpyro, both on modthesims.

I love this skin because it's not too cartoonish and also not too realistic/shiny. I like that it too has two-toned lips, and has the same lip color as mine. It also goes well with the proportions of how I make my sims.

Anyways, I don't like the skintone shades of any default skintone replacements out there because generally, they make skintone 1 and 2 look the same, and skintone 3 wayy lighter, so I created my own variation and modified the oepu skin: - I made skintone 1 lighter, skintone 3 darker and more saturated, and skintone 4 more saturated and less contrasted. - I made the male and female sims have the same skin so that they don't look too drastic from one another. - I also lightened the nose and browridge shadows so that the skin is compatible on monolids and non-prominent noses.

Afterwards, I used python to turn the 4 skintones into 10 skintones first, each skintone number has these genetic values (using Wardrobe Wrangler):

1 - 0.1 2 - 0.15 [default skintone 1] 3 - 0.2 4 - 0.3 [default skintone 2] 5 - 0.4 6 - 0.5 [default skintone 3] 7 - 0.6 8 - 0.7 [default skintone 4] 9 - 0.8 10 - 0.9

Then, per 10 skintones, I made 3 sets of undertone variations: cool, neutral and warm. So now you have 30 skintones. I thought the first set of 30 was too saturated, so I made the "Natural" versions of them. Then I also decided to make them even more desatured, these are the "Pale" versions. So overall, 90 skintones.

Because I used python, some skins are pixelated, but I really don't mind it. Also, the teeth for some is yellowish but I'll make cc teeth overlays.

All the King's Horses - a recolor set

There's a decided lack of non-modern horse cc in the community, so when I saw @objuct's Traditional Arabain Set, I knew I needed to make some recolors.

Info: - Requires the meshes - Both versions included (tassels + no tassels) - Saddles have 25 swatches each, halters have 19 each. (There's a matching halter for every saddle, though!) - First few swatches are modifications of Objuct's swatches. The rest are all mine. - Previews are unedited, no reshade.

Named/made from Growing Together's Suburban Dream siding. A simple, fun recolor for trailers or other homes, I think the darker blue would look nice on a house boat, personally.

Some swatches are pretty normal, others are just plain confusing because not all Sims have great taste.

Just an afternoon project I really have no idea if someone's done another version of this, but I don't know, I just felt like sharing something and hopefully saving someone else some time so they don't have to make weird sidings. Also a sort of NY Resolution to stop being terrified of sharing stuff I make because they're small things and I'm still learning.

Stereo Boombox default + recs

I absolutely love this stereo from basegame, but the color is... not so pretty. I found pixelbox's default, but they used dxt1 (my sworn enemy) when importing the texture so it's very pixelated. I then decided to whip up my own default, followed by a small mesh fix and a few recolors + a psd.

Default

Replaces the texture with a gray (black?) one. I also moved the shadow down a bit on the mesh (see second image) meaning it's a mesh + texture default.

Recolors

Four basic recolors, because I couldn't seem to find any for this stereo? You can choose between merged or separate recs. I also included my .psd file, making it very easy to recolor if you'd like to make more!

As usual, you can only have one default for the stereo boombox in your downloads folder at a time. Meaning, if you already have one, you must delete it before using mine. All files have been compressed to reduce file size. The CEP is required for the recolors!
