Tensions were high as you arrived back home, and your aching body only made your fragile mood even worse. Plus, you were covered in drying blood that wasn't yours⎯at least you were hoping it wasn't yours⎯and the pounding in your head started to become even worse.

Soaking in the bathtub, your bare body tingles with the warm ache of the lavender-infused water. Your calloused hands scrub the blood, dirt, and grime from your face and hair, and you close your eyes, leaning back as you try to calm your racing mind. The atmosphere itself is quiet, leaving nothing but the sloshing of water and the low hum of the air conditioning to make noise.

The bathroom lights were bright when you opened your eyes again, and you submerged your face under the surface, feeling the warm water surround you as you come back up. You feel a bit cleaner, more softer⎯and you step out of the tub just minutes later, towel around your body as you numbly stumble back to your room.

Seokmin's already there, undoing his cuff links as he drops one on the bedside table. His hair is messy, the style lost in the heat of the chase the two of you went on tonight⎯his deep brown eyes are tired as he strips himself of his blood-covered dress shirt, and he doesn't even blink twice at the sight of drying blood on his hands.

The two of you had yet another disagreement, and both of you thought each other was in the wrong.

The mission itself was simple: you had to confiscate a bag of money from a rich guy at his dinner party. You had your own plan⎯you wanted to rush in and make people panic, distracted from your mission that it would be simple to take the money.

Seokmin, on the other hand, wanted to take it slow⎯he wanted to work his way from the inside out, getting close to the man just to make a quick switch with a fake bag of money and escaping without a second glance.

Because of your shared disagreement, the two of you went your own seperate ways and did what you wanted to.

(Which ended up with both of you ruining almost everything and failing the mission.)

And of course Seokmin was angry he didn't get his way.

"You know, instead of just staring, you could apologize." Seokmin's smooth voice was a shock to you as you finished tugging on an oversized shirt, face still awkwardly dry from the amount of blood that painted your cheeks and neck.

"Apologize? Seokmin⎯you were the one who insisted your idea was better? We only completed the mission because I was the only one of the two of us actually thinking our actions through!" Your voice was higher than it was just a few minutes ago, and Seokmin rolled his eyes, his eyebrows furrowing as he glared your way.

"I never insisted my idea was better! I just said it would benifit you to listen to someone else give you instructions for once! And look⎯I was right!" Seokmin threw his hand out, arm outstretched as he vaguely pointed to himself. "You always have to be right about something, I swear."

"Me? I always have to be right about something? Well, excuse me, Seokmin⎯but it seems like you always have to be in fucking control!" You lock eyes with him, daring him to test you: Seokmin rises up to the challenge and claps back.

"Says the one who belittles others for checking on their mothers often." You already knew that Seokmin had a wonderful relationship with his mother, but ever since he said he called her almost seven times a day, you critized him for acting like a little child.

"I don't!" You combated his accusation, and Seokmin laughed dryly, striping himself of his button-down as he frowned.

"Let's get one thing clear here⎯just because I keep a stable relationship between me and my mom, doesn't mean you can lead everyone around you to hate their mom. It's not my fault you don't call your parents, it's yours. You don't make time for them, and you keep them guessing: that's fine if it's for you, but not for me. So, unless you have something sweet to say to me that isn't along the lines of "you're stupid", "you're rash", or that i'm "fucking delusional", shut your mouth."

You fell silent after that, eyes watering with unshed tears as he threw his clothes to the corner, now doning a plain t-shirt and oversized sweatpants. The air was heavy from Seokmin's angry rant, and you could feel the choking feeling from your side of the bed.

He fell silent, sighing to himself as he turned to look at you. Seokmin's eyes were that pretty deep brown, and they sparkled with tears once he locked eyes with you. He could tell how he had made you feel, especially with the tears quietly running down your face.

Seokmin softened, heart shattering a little as he made his way over to your side of the bed, and touched your wet cheek as he kneeled down in front of you.

"I'm sorry, Min." Seokmin called you by your new name: as the two of you were now Mr. & Mrs. Lee, you had to adopt a part of Seokmin's name to make it sound natural.

"I shouldn't have said any of those things I did. They were wrong, and I know that, especially now that I see the look on your face."

Seokmin's voice was soft and mild now, and you sniffled, falling into his arms as he kissed you all over your face, nose, and neck. His lips brushed your ear as a pressed a kiss to it.

"Can you forgive me?" His question was simple, and it broke your heart as you saw how he looked at you.

Seokmin looked at you like he needed you. Like it wasn't just Mr. Lee or Mrs. Lee. Like it was Mr. & Mrs. Lee⎯the two of you.

Nodding, you smiled as you tasted tears on your tongue. Seokmin leaned down to you, pressing his sharp nose to yours before taking your lips in a kiss that nearly knocked the breath out of you.

"I thought we made a rule that stated 'no kissing after life-threatening missions'," You chuckled, and Seokmin giggled after you, tracing your kiss-swollen lips with his slender finger.

"Why did we even make that rule?" Seokmin wondered aloud, trailing your hand down his bare, toned chest as he sighed dreamily, shuddering underneath your cold fingertips.

"I don't know." He muttered, leaning in to kiss you again as you pulled away after a few minutes of kissing him softly.

"Let's just break it⎯we already broke the rule about falling in love." You smiled at your 'husband', and Seokmin smiled back, hands around your waist as he kissed you slowly again.

You think you could get used to this life. You also think you could take the air-quotes from around husband.
