Chapstick often has stuff in it that makes your lips chapped so you keep using it @that fool. I use aquaphor and it's really good, i don't think it's expensive in the states

okay thank you, i usually use kinds with medicine in them to try and heal the cracks that are already there and i have a carmex one that i guess works alright but like none of them actually stop them from cracking :( but i’ll look into the aquaphor one. thank you love

Unlikely Confidantes (A Post-Infinity War Tony Stark Ficlet)

Word Count: 664

Summary: Tony confides in Nebula, but she’s not really much of a therapist.

Ships: No ships, but there’s strictly platonic Iron Dad stuff and Nebula x Gamora sibling dynamic.

Warnings: Angst. 

*A/N: Inspired by the 0.5 seconds of Tony and Nebula in the Superbowl TV spot.

They don’t speak for the first few days.

Nebula circles around the ship constantly, her face tight with pain and her eyes following him as he silently works on a plan, any plan, that will get them to Earth.

On the fourth day, while taking a break from Plan #167, Tony finally asks her a question.

“What was she like?”

For a moment, he thinks she might kill him, or ignore him. She’s silent for a long time. Then:

“She was… compassionate. Fierce, too.” She closes her eyes, leans her head back against the wall. “We weren’t sisters by blood, you know. Just victims of the same evil.”

“Does that make a difference?” he asks, a faint I’m sorry echoing in his head, clenching around his abused heart.

“No. No, it doesn’t.”

“What about the boy?” she asks, hours later. “What was he like?”

Tony breathes in, unsteadily, as he remembers.

“Sorry!” Peter laughed, trying to scrape congealed web fluid off one of his work benches. “I was trying to fine-tune the, uh, stickiness duration. Huh. I need a better term for that.”

Tony smirked at him, only half-listening as he manipulated a two-dimensional rendering on a tablet, calculating weight versus protection, which materials would be needed to suit an agile, flexible style of motion, if he needed to add the capacity for powered flight…

“Whatcha working on, Mr. Stark?”

He turned the tablet over, hiding it from the curious eyes peering over his shoulder. “I’ll show you if you ever join the boy band, kid.”

Peter grinned. “I will. One day.”

“I’m expecting big things, Spiderling.” He ruffled his hair.

“I’m gonna make you proud, Mr. Stark,” Peter told him, looking very serious. “Just you wait.”

“He was better than me,” he tells his unlikely confidante, remembering a rooftop and a teenager and harsh words.

If you died, I feel like that’s on me.

I’m sorry.

She watches him, waiting.

“At first, I didn’t want to let him get too close,” he continues. “I didn’t exactly have good male role models, so I probably would have just screwed him up. And it wouldn’t have been fair for me to try to fit in his life, not after he already lost two fathers.”

“What changed?” she asks.

“I guess I just realized he was never going to stop being a hero,” Tony tells her, closing his eyes against another onslaught of memories. “God, I’ve never met a more selfless kid. He would have kept going until it killed him, so I had to help. And before I knew it, he got under my skin.”

She hums tunelessly.

“Before all this…” He swallows. “I was talking to Pepper. My fiancée. And I asked her about having kids. I’ve never wanted them before, but Peter…he made me rethink a lot of things. I think I did start thinking of him as a son. I was proud of him like he was my own.” His eyes burn.

“I wish I had told him.”

They work in silence for an hour or so.

“Gamora and I fought a lot,” Nebula finally offers. “Thanos pitted us against each other growing up, and I resented her, because she was his favorite, and I was second best.”

Tony can’t bring himself to utter the Dad of the Year comment on his tongue, given the subject matter.

“We worked it out, eventually. I think she knew that I couldn’t hate her, but I’m glad I said it.”

Tony nods, unable to speak.

“I told him this was a one-way ticket,” he says, numbly, as his hands work on Plan #328. “But I don’t think the kid believed me. He trusted me.”

I’m sorry, he said, and Tony still doesn’t know what he was sorry for. Not beating Thanos? Dying?

“There probably wasn’t anything different you could have done,” Nebula tells him, her expression as comforting as he’s ever seen it.

“Yeah,” Tony agrees out loud, “probably not.”

I’m sorry.

Ready - Harrison Osterfield

a/n: saw people hating on Haz so i wrote this bc he deserves love. just finished writing it so I'm sorry for any typos.

You glared at the cup of green tea that had burned your tongue before placing it on the counter again to cool down a little more. It was a quiet and sunny Friday morning in your apartment, just what you needed as you sat in a kitchen stool editing some manuscripts. You had decided to work from home today, it being the last day of the week and all.

“Why are you glaring at the tea?” Your boyfriend chuckles. He closes the door behind him and takes off his shoes as he returns from his morning run.

“It burned my tongue.” You scrunch your nose in distaste taking your gaze away from the steaming mug and up to Harrison. You nod towards the paper bag he’s holding, “What you got there handsome?”

He places the bag and his phone to your left before walking up behind you. His arms circle your waist and chin rests on your shoulder.

“Fruits for the smoothies, and strawberries for you.” He mumbles before kissing your jaw and cheek repeatedly.

“Sweaty.” You say making a face at him before it changes into a smile. “Thanks babe.”

You turn in your stool, run your fingers through his hair, and feel him relax at last. “You’ll get it,” You whisper and place a kiss on his lips, “Don’t worry so much okay?”

Harrison had scored an audition for a movie coming up and he’s been anxious ever since he finished the audition and the callback. They wouldn’t reveal the title or the character itself but the director was rumored to be Damien Chazelle, so it was basically written to be good. It was also a contributing factor to Harrison’s nerves before and after auditioning.

“Probably won’t,” He shrugs which makes you shake your head but he continues, “It wouldn’t be new if I didn’t.”

“Stop it, we talked about this. Positive attitude, Haz.” You bring your hands down to his shoulders, “What do I always say when you don’t get a role?”

His eyes meet yours and you see he’s holding back a smile.

“I always say that they’re just not ready for you yet.” You smile and he does so as well before leaning down and kissing your lips.

“I love you.”

“I love you more,” You turn and pick up the now warm green tea. “And babe?”

“I’ll go shower.” He laughs before putting the fruit on the fridge and heading to the bedroom.

“Y/N?”

“Yeah?” You call back, still looking at the manuscript on your computer and editing away the book for an author you had been assigned at work.

“Have you seen my black sweatpants?”

“I’m currently wearing them babe.” You smile when you hear Harrison chuckle from your bedroom. “Mine were on the hamper so I-”

Harrison’s phone lights up next to you with a notification taking your focus away from the computer screen. You read Harrison’s agent name and let out a scream when you read the words “You got it! Congratulations! Sending you email with the details.”

Your hands come up to cover your mouth and you feel your eyes tear up. Harrison comes to the kitchen in a heartbeat, startled by your scream. You can’t say anything, just stand up and walk over to him as he starts guessing what happened.

“What’s wrong? Did you delete the document by accident? Wait, last time you screamed like that you got into Cambridge…” He furrows his brows for a second before he takes a step back with eyes wide. “Did- Did I?”

“YES!” You practically yell before jumping in your place. “Yes! Yes! Yes! Harrison you got the role!”

“Oh my god!”

His face is a mixture of happiness and surprise and he lets out a big joyous laugh. You see tears that match yours on his eyes before he picks you up and spins you around as both of you laugh. The happiness coursing through you and the pride you feel is so great you can’t stop smiling even as your eyes keep tearing up, you can’t even imagine how Harrison must be feeling. He puts you back on the ground and hugs you tightly. His hair is damp from his shower as are the tears you feel on your shoulder. You kiss the side of his head and hug him tightly, happy that this time they’re tears of utter happiness and not frustration. “I’m so so proud of you.”

“Thank you for not giving up on me.” He mumbles after a few minutes, smiling down at you.

“I’d never give up on you,” You smile wiping his cheeks, “Ever.”

His lips catch yours and they leave you breathless from all the emotions that are coursing through you. He’s grateful for you and happy and you’re so proud. Most importantly, you’re both so in love it leaves your mind spinning. So you kiss, and kiss and kiss until the smiles on your faces are too big and make you pull away.

“Your life is going to change, are you ready for that?” You say as Harrison brushes his nose against your cheek.

“Our life. And as long as I’ve got you by my side I’m ready for anything, love.”

PSA TO EVERYONE

Alright, listen up people! I got a few things to say about this shithole of a fandom. I used to love this fandom and I still do love parts of it. I could come on here when my day is feeling really shitty and see some excellent, thirst worthy posts of Tom and read some really fucking good fics. But lately, I’ve been getting on here less and less because of the hate and ignorance going around. The only thing that keeps me going is my lovely, beautiful mutuals. Sooo let’s get started:

1. STOP ATTACKING PEOPLE FOR THEIR FUCKING OPINION

-Everyone has a right to their own opinion. That’s just the world we live in. If we all thought the same way, we wouldn’t be different and unique now would we? Buuuutttt, if someone’s opinion differs from yours, kindly talk to them and ask them why they think that. I’m sure many people would love to discuss their opinion and why they stand for it, but many of you people don’t give them a fucking chance. You go straight to anon and start calling them assholes and saying you are going to stop following them because they “give weak answers” when half the time, it’s not even their problem and they are just talking about it (this happened to someone about a certain topic) How about you calmly state what you think or message them!

2. STOP SENDING HATE OVER ANON

-If you are going to use anon, why not use it to say something positive?? Make someone feel better about their day, not make it worse! Think how you would feel if someone came into your asks and said some wild ass shit to you like “You’re ugly” “kill yourself” “your blog is awful, delete it” “you can’t write, stop it” Do you know how much that shit actually hurts??? No, no you don’t, because if you did, you would never in a million years send that to anyone because you know how depressing it is to open your inbox and see hate from some anonymous person because they don’t have the courage to do it off of anon. Hey, here’s a note, STOP BEING A FUCKING COWARD

3. IF YOU DON’T LIKE SOMETHING, DON’T LOOK AT IT

-So lately there has been a lot of hate directed towards people writing smut. I don’t write smut, but I do support my friends that do. So you can bet your ass, I’m going to defend them. So of course when you little shits came after Eliza, I was mad as fuck. If you don’t like smut, here’s an idea DON’T FUCKING READ IT. Nobody is making you read it. People enjoy writing and to them Tom, although he is a real person, he is just a character in the story. We all know none of it is true, it’s all purely fiction. But like I said, if you really don’t like smut or you think it’s sexualizing Tom, please just don’t read it! Stop going on anon and telling them that what they are doing is wrong! It’s their blog, not yours, they can do whatever the hell they want! And you definitely do not control them!

4. INCLUSIVENESS????

-This one doesn’t really have to do with the rest of my points, but this does need to be addressed. Too many people have told me that they don’t feel included in a fandom that says they accept everyone and Tom or any celebrity we talk about in this fandom would date anyone of us because, let’s be honest, you are all beautiful and amazing and the more I get to know you people, the more you inspire me to not give up and remain positive. But while all this is true, I see fics that aren’t neutral for people and very, very few moodboards for people of color. And by fics that are neutral, I mean fics that DON’T talk about your hair color, fics that DON’T talk about your eye color, fics that DON’T talk about your body shape, the texture of your hair, OR things that happen to your skin. Too many times I’ve seen “he runs his fingers through your hair” You cannot run your fingers through my hair, it’s curly and thick, your hand will get stuck. So already that leaves out people that either have curly or thick hair or both! Then I see “you blush” “your skin turns a bright shade of pink” “your skin turns tomato red” and other shit. Not everyone turns red like that!! So this already excludes people with darker skin tones. Those are just a few examples. Now it’s okay to say those things IF you specify what type of reader you are writing about BEFORE you start your fic. So many times, I have been interested in a fic, you know I really get into the story, smiling, laughing, or crying, and then I read that and I immediately am disinterested in it. I might finish it, if it’s really fucking good, but it really hurts when I begin to not be able to even see myself when it’s specifically a x reader and I’m supposed to be able to picture myself in it! And...moodboards. There are so few moodboards out there for people of color that I started doing some specifically for people of color. I mean I love the concepts you guys come up with, but I have so much trouble finding moodboards with people that actually look like me, it’s actually ridiculous. And people have it worse than me! Some can’t find any moodboards with people like them! And there are other blogs that make PoC moodboards (I can’t think of any off the top of my head, but tell me if you are one) and some get hate for actually trying to include everyone which is what we should be doing anyways! Now I’m not shaming anyone and telling you what you should and shouldn’t do, but for the sake of people that get left out of everything, can you at least try to include other races, ethnicities, body types, etc.

5. STOP FUCKING WITH PEOPLE’S MENTAL HEALTH

-Again, I have to address hate anons. With all the shit you guys say, you can really fuck someone up mentally. I realize this website is a hellhole, but you don’t help. So many people are bombarded with hate and don’t know how to deal with it. Do you really want to be the reason why someone takes their own life??? How can you look at yourself and the mirror and actually think “you know what, I did good today. I said some pretty shitty things to someone anonymously and now they will probably have a bad day. Who cares??” WELL I DO. I FUCKING CARE. Because while you are saying shitty things to my friends and they start coming on less and less or delete their blog, then I HAVE A FUCKING PROBLEM. GET A LIFE AND STOP BOTHERING PEOPLE WITH YOUR FOOLISHNESS. One of my favorite blogs, @hufflepuffholland is being deleted. But, you know what, I’m happy for Char because she is getting away from you hateful fuckers. She is taking care of herself and her mental health and I’m proud for her. I love her and if you do this to another one of my friends, I’m going to slap the shit out of someone. THIS HAS GONE ON FOR WAY TO FUCKING LONG! STOP BEING DICKS AND IF YOU REALLY HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY STOP BEING A FUCKING COWARD, COME OFF OF ANON, AND SAY WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY
