Bad Omens
When Danny woke up late and missed two of his classes he knew it was going to be a bad day. The feeling only grew as he tripped over stairs and broke windows by accident. He wondered if Johnny was around or he was just unlucky.
It turned out that no, neither Shadow nor Kitty or Johnny were in the realm of the living. When he went to visit them in the Infinite Realms he heard them whispering about...Spectra? The bad feeling that had been increasing with the passing of the hours only grew.
Luckily the ghosts seemed quite communicative and revealed the psychologist's plans: Spectra had planned to attack a place called "Gotham" where her ex-husband, a certain Jonathan Crane, lived (the halfa still didn't know how she managed to get married in the first place).
From the looks of it they had never been divorced, but Spectra was in the process of filing the paperwork before her death, which was saying a lot. He asked Johnny and Kitty where she was, when they pointed to a glowing natural portal, Danny groaned.
Resigned to a disastrous weekend, the halfa headed to Gotham. Johnny and Kitty followed him curiously, they seemed to be trying to tell him about "scary gas" or something similar, the halfa didn't quite understand. His goal was only one thing: Protect Jonathan, the poor husband of the spiteful ghost (and avoid the furries, that were probably Spectra sidekicks or something).
If only he knew that Crane wasn't as innocent as he seemed.

You did just amazing job portraying what divorce can look like especially with someone is IN DENIAL of their own actions. I wouldn’t let it past him that it will take years for him to get over you. Perhaps would never do.
But even his lawyer was like FREE THE POOR WOMAN 😭 that killed me.
The only people who could see the real issue are the lawyers behaviors see the behavior. No wonder the lawyers would be able on the wife side. No pity points for you Hero.
Poor ex-wife probably gotta move out of the country. The boy fan base is scary I can only imagine and his family and friends trying to but in into your business. Hopefully she stroke a deal to not have nothing from him since in paparazzi point-view could spin it differently.
The more I am imagining the more I am terrified.
YOU SHOULD BE TERRIFIED.
I don't think Izuku would ever understand the kind of prosecution he's putting you through by ventilating your divorce. The sea of photos, memes and articles berating you is enough to bury the little peace you could have in Japan. He doesn't get why you want to move far from the country, much less why you're not taking any of the things he had bought specifically for you.
And yes, considering Izuku's fan base, the risk of one of his stans trying to do something sketchy is high. He is somewhat conscious of that, meaning there's also a chance that someone is actively watching over you.
Izuku is definitely not getting over you by the way, doesn't matter if he later dates or remarries. You're still his wife.
"So, most of the goods you share are under your name, Mr. Midoriya. How do you wish to proceed?" Your lawyer asks, revising thoroughly the documents on her desk. She had to admit it was impressive to see just how much someone like Izuku had bought, but considering the side of him she'd been witnessing during the divorce process, it was clear he didn't mind spending money to fill the cracks of his relationship. "I wanna give it all to her..." Izuku said, looking at you with sorrow and shame. Part of him expected that you could forgive him that way, but he knew there was no return point. "No, thank you. I don't want anything from you." You bluntly answered; it almost made your lawyer snicker, but that would be unprofessional from her. "But, why? Honey, all these things-"
"All these things were bought with your money. I don't want people to say I'm a gold digger that wants to take you to the cleaners." Izuku heard you say. His lips curved into a defeated smile, trying to understand. "I see, then, what do you suggest? I don't wanna have something that's not mine."
"You can always consider selling the goods and splitting the money. That way your wife can decide whether she uses it or not." The lawyer suggested, waiting for you to speak. "Does that sound good to you, Miss?"
You nodded, "That would be for the best, I'll be moving out of the country soon." It was almost comical to see Izuku's jaw drop, but at least he was being more decent than in the first negotiations where he yelled. He'd try to talk it out with you outside the office, refusing to let you get away from him.

genuinely one of the funniest overlooked Renly bits is when he shows a picture of Margaery to Ned hoping that she looks like Lyanna in AGoT. Like, I know that the point is that he wanted to replace Cersei with Margaery and was hoping to appeal to Robert's dreams of Lyanna - and indeed, Ned's immediate thought is that he was hoping to emulate Robert - but it's like. Can you imagine if they did look alike. Ned would probably have a PTSD breakdown right there. He spends the entire book thinking about Lyanna and feeling bad about Lyanna and then Renly shows up and gives him a photo of his dead sister that he claims is someone else??? The sheer gothic horror of it. Can you imagine if Margaery and Lyanna did look alike. How much that would fuck with Ned's brain. I think he might have a heart attack,

Shoutout to Marv Wolfman in 2011 saying he thought giving Tim Drake his own family and desire to be Robin instead of Batman would mean he’d avoid getting riddled with angst.

Batman: A Death in the Family Deluxe Edition
Relevant post is here. LOL. (Hey, at least Tim still maintains his passion for “Batman needs a Robin” and “Dick Grayson is the best”! However, the “free from angst” thing may have run into some problems.)

I had to take "Marvel" off my blacklist recently to browse Agatha All Along posts and I still think that's only my second greatest shame compared to admitting to my boss (and myself) that I enjoy doing math.

Strategies for Uncovering Hidden Assets in Divorce | Lommen Abdo
Uncovering hidden assets during a divorce is crucial for ensuring a fair settlement. Effective Investigation Strategies can include analyzing financial records, tracing bank accounts, and identifying undisclosed income. Utilizing forensic accountants and digital tools can reveal discrepancies and hidden wealth. Additionally, understanding common tactics used to conceal assets, such as offshore accounts or false documentation, is essential. By employing these methods, individuals can protect their financial interests and achieve a more equitable resolution in divorce proceedings.

The point of A Christmas Carol was not to teach morals by example; it was to teach morals directly. Ebenezer Scrooge was specifically made to be a reader insert. The lessons of A Xmas Carol can mostly be divided into 'you don't want to be this guy (he's suffering)' and 'you don't want to be this guy (he's evil, like ultimately, Biblically, very un-Xtian)', afforded by the third category of Basically Everything In The Book 'you don't want to be this guy anymore (he's deeply relatable to the upper-class Victorians the book is targeted at)'. The fact that he doesn't spend money on himself is not a sign that he needs to care for himself more; it's to show that he's so greedy to the point that it is useless, to show that valuing money this much is bad and senseless. The fact that he were to die if he didn't change for the better is an example of Cosmic punishment. Maybe the story does have a hint of teaching Scrooge to take care of himself, but that's only for the same reason that Scrooge is given a 'workaholic billionaire' backstory. The rich like(d) to see themselves as hard-working, and were the target audience, and Dickens didn't want to insult his target audience while trying to teach them basic human decency. So he also took the opportunity to slot that into the 'you don't want to be this guy (he's suffering)' method of teaching.
#that post just frustrates me so i decided to write out my thoughts#ebenezer scrooge is a reader insert!!#a christmas carol#also charles dickens' mindset at the time of writing is fascinating to think about. a xmas carol was written in response to a government#report on the conditions of mines factories and mills for child labourers (which before writing charles dickens also conducted his own#investigation i think). dickens vowed he would deliver a 'sledge-hammer's blow on behalf of the Poor Man's child'#and xmas carol is... not that. from a 2023 perspective it feels really toothless actually. it's about a guy who learns about the magic of#xmas and being nice to poor people. but thats because it's not MEANT to be a sledge-hammer's blow clearly. he reconsidered#and wrote a persuasive letter and it's actually really interesting to pick apart! so there's my recommendation#and regarding accusations of antisemitism: dickens probably was really i havent really read many of his works outside of school so.#but the book is pretty (n yes pretty is doing a lot of legwork here) divorced from that. its antisemitic but thats mostly#because it uses classical Xtian models of morality (eg celebrating xmas) to equate not celebrating xmas to cruelty to show how bad cruelty#is. not to equate cruelty to non-xtianity to show how bad non-xtianity is. yes theres some fucked use of carciature but the antisemitism#i read as very casual? like nowadays. its hooked nose = evil. antisemitism was absolutely not the intent at all its just very much an#artifact of its time. which. i dont think anyones learning nazism from ACC. its not challenging antisemitism but. most books dont even now#sweet talkin'#long tags#sweet whisperin'#charles dickens#classism
