🥳          dora  got  comfy  as  he  poured  her  drink  and  listened.  she  nodded,  looking  thoughtful  for  a  moment.  “you  know,  that’s  not  the  weirdest  thing  i’ve  heard  while  in  a  bath  tub  at  a  party.  if  that  makes  you  feel  any  better,”  she  took  a  sip  of  the  drink  and  her  eyebrows  scrunched  up.  it  was  heinously  sweet.  she  grimaced  and  smacked  her  lips  together  a  few  times  to  try  get  the  taste  out.  “i’ve  gotta  ask.  how  do  you  know  they’re  dead?  i’m  sure  i  read  somewhere  the  mind  is  like  really  bad  at  making  faces  up  or  something  so  it  just  cut  and  pastes  blends  of  all  the  faces  we’ve  ever  seen  into  our  dreams.  could  it  not  just  be  randos  you  don’t  remember?”

         matthew tries all of five seconds to stay serious after her confession, but folds shortly after. drunken giggles tumble out as he shakes his head. did he seriously just giggle ? enough bubbly for him. setting the bottle beside him before settling further into the tub. “ Uh --  I mean I guess they could be, but most of the dreams are of people that I know have passed. When I was little I saw my mom, during my time in the service.. “ his voice trails off as he remembers his fallen comrades. “ Let’s just say that wasn’t the best time for them. “

the one who broke their heart - oliver / icarus @sunruined

after all the time they spent together, of course harlow fell in love with him. the hard part was letting him go when ollie broke up with them without explaining and left. despite being as flirty as they are, harlow’s trust was deeply affected, and did they ever really get over him?

love and hate function the same  - reina / hera @lostmycrown

despite getting along sometimes, and not others, reina is probably the person they trust the most on the island. she makes them confront and question their choices in ways that make them better in the end. they are soulmates, but not romantically. ride or die, if they didn’t tell each other to ‘go to hell’ so often.

although trusting people feels a dangerous game, there is a piece in harlow’s heart that is always waiting for someone they can give affection and the softer side of themself to.

between the cute doe eyes and the baby on the way, harlow couldn’t keep himself from becoming a mentor in their mind to arden. they needed someone to trust and rely on, and harlow knew that feeling all to well and couldn’t turn a blind eye. now, they consider arden a close friend, almost family.

manifested ability: to use her voice to create or dissipate wind-gusts when in a woodland area, (stronger if she is surrounded by sacred conifer trees), ability to sense/feel people around her through vibrations when barefoot on the ground (low level seismic senses), hear someones bad intentions (such as lies and deceit) when speaking to them, exceptional tree climbing skills and balance and a supernatural kinship and connection with the sacred connifers.

🥳          you  know  the  cliche:  there’s  a  certain  flavour  of  person  who’s  always  in  the  kitchen  at  parties.  there  are  even  songs  about  it.  they’re  not  being  anti-social.  quite  the  opposite,  actually.  they  like  to  be  in  the  epicentre  of  the  action.  what  did  it  say  about  dora  that  she  was  the  type  of  woman  who  always  ended  up  in  the  bathroom  at  parties?  holding  hair  back,  talking  someone  through  a  crisis,  giving  solicited  life  advice,  gossiping.  there  was  something  cherished  about  the  connections  made  in  bathrooms  and  here  she  was  again.  "no,  of  course  i  get  it.  i  come  off  as  a  cold  bitch  sometimes   but  i  like  you,  i  swear.“
