after 820 hours of work, my island, though not what I would call "finished," is at least ready to share!! come visit FogHill anytime at DA-5087-3742-9665!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fog Hill is a quaint rural community based very loosely on areas in my home state of Michigan! There's a bnb with a pool, a seaside flea & farmers market, rooftop KK viewing cafe, a 50s themed ice cream diner, a riverwalk, a drive-in theater, community gardens, a fishing village, and even a cemetery!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the northwest corner of the map, you'll find a tiny Mackinaw bridge (best viewed from the cliff by the museum with your first person camera). The northeast contains my own house as well as an attempt to invoke the dune habitats of west Michigan. just south of my house is a boardwalk "hiking" trail, several campsites, and Gonzo's orchard farm.
Several interiors are also completed or near done: My house (4/5 rooms), Muffy, Pango, and Gonzo. My island will also have a dispensary at some point but I need more whistloids!!! if anyone wants to trade I'll give you any amount of any other gyroid I have in exchange!
Here's a preview from HHP (and if you'd like to visit either my dispo or the Hot Topic I built for Happy Home Network, find me there @ RA-1470-4924-4564 !)

Enjoy, and if you take any good pictures or witness any villager drama you'd like to share while visiting, please do feel free to tag me here or on Twitter (@_picklejar)!

As unrest swept the city Sunday, aldermen pleaded with Mayor Lori Lightfoot to help them protect their communities from roving bands of criminals clashing with police and looting businesses.
WTTW News obtained a recording of an online conference call held by the mayor’s office to brief all 50 aldermen on the city’s response to the unrest touched off by the death of George Floyd in the custody of Minneapolis police.
Warning: The following audio file contains profanity. Audience discretion is advised.
While one alderman wept, others grew angry with the mayor, demanding to know what her strategy was to stop the violence that began in earnest late Saturday.
The call provides a snapshot into the city’s response as of midday on Sunday to the most widespread and damaging unrest since the uprising after the murder of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and the police riots after the Democratic National Convention in 1968.
The recording begins with Ald. Michelle Harris (8th Ward) wondering how she could convince businesses like Walmart and CVS to rebuild on the South Side after the destruction.
“It’s like, what are we going to have left in our community?” Harris asks her colleagues before answering herself. “Nothing.”
Ald. Pat Dowell (3rd Ward) said she felt helpless to protect older residents, who she said were struggling to buy food and get prescription medicine.
“I’ve worked really hard over the last seven years and now I feel like I am five feet back,” Dowell said.
“I feel like I am at ground zero,” Harris responded. “My major business district is shattered. Why would Walmart or CVS come back to our communities?”
Ald. Emma Mitts (37th) said her West Side ward was like “the wild, wild west out there.”
Dowell asked Lightfoot to use the National Guard to protect grocery stores and pharmacies, but the mayor said “they are not a magic tool, they are the military.”
In other cities, National Guard troops have made things worse, “not better,” Lightfoot said.
Ald. Derrick Curtis (18th) said he had called 911 to report looting, and got no answer. Rich Guidice, the director of the Office of Emergency Management and Communications, acknowledged that the system was overwhelmed.
“There are no easy answers here,” Lightfoot said.
Ald. Susan Sadlowski-Garza (10th Ward) broke down while pleading with Lightfoot for help.
“My ward is a s--t show,” Sadlowski-Garza said, adding that cop cars and banks were burned. “They are shooting at the police.”
Sadlowski-Garza began to cry as she said the unrest began about 11 a.m. Sunday, when a group of 40 people broke into a marijuana dispensary, but had nothing to do with a protest.
“I have never seen the likes of this,” Sadlowski-Garza said. “I’m scared.”
Ald. Raymond Lopez (15th Ward) demanded that Lightfoot develop a plan to stabilize Chicago’s neighborhoods for five days, calling his Southwest Side ward a virtual war zone” where gang members armed with AK-47’s were threatening to shoot black people.
The call came to a screeching halt when Lightfoot declined to address the substance of Lopez’s remarks, and Lopez demanded that she respond.
Lightfoot told Lopez he was “100% full of s--t.”
“Well, f--k you then,” Lopez responded.
“I understand you want to preen,” Lightfoot told Lopez.
As aldermen objected, Lopez continued to speak.
“Mayor you need to check your f-----g attitude,” Lopez said.
Ald. Patrick Daley Thompson (11th Ward) told Lightfoot he was worried that the looters would attack homes where many people have guns and concealed carry weapons.
Ald. Ed Burke (14th Ward) said he was concerned that residents would take matters into their own hands and become vigilantes.
“This is far worse than it was in 1968,” said Burke, who was elected to the City Council in 1969.
Ald. Mike Rodriguez (22nd Ward) told the mayor that Little Village residents banded together to protect businesses along 26th Street, the largest shopping district outside the Loop.
“I’m talking about all segments of our community, including some on this call would prefer to be incarcerated,” Rodriguez said. “I think there are people of all stripes coming together, and I pray that holds tonight.”
That exchange prompted Lopez to charge that Lightfoot knew that gangs were part of efforts to protect neighborhoods, and that Rodriguez was working with them.
Lightfoot called that charge “ridiculous.”
Rodriguez told WTTW News on Wednesday that some of those who were protecting the neighborhood targeted people “who were perceived to be outsiders” based on their race.

Thanksgiving is a time when we get together with family and friends to celebrate and give thanks for all that we have. In the spirit of the holiday, we at CAFE held our 6th annual turkey giveaway at each of our four downtown dispensary locations. This year, we secured over 800 turkeys and distributed them on Saturday, Oct 8 in the Corso Italia, Bloor West, Harbord Village and Fort York CityPlace neighbourhoods. The lineups started early on Saturday outside each of our stores, ahead of the announced giveaway times. By the early afternoon, all turkeys were gone – happily received by a member of the community who took it home to prepare for their Thanksgiving meal.

SUNDAY, JUNE 2, 1968
The de Gaulle regime opened its re-election campaign in France yesterday with promises of higher wages and a “broader voice in the economy” for workers, “participation and autonomy” in universities for students, and freedom from “totalitarianism” for the nation as a whole. The new Cabinet adopted a declaration appealing for votes in the two-round legislative elections on June 23 and 30 for “progress, independence and peace.” The back-to-work movement continued, although somewhat abated by a nationwide exodus from the cities for a three-day holiday. Daniel Cohn-Bendit, the young anarchist leader, led a march of thousands of extreme leftist students through the Left Bank of Paris protesting the Government’s tactics and the elections. Before he flew to West Germany last Wednesday and sought new strength in conversations with French Army officers, President de Gaulle had been confronted with a grim personal challenge from his Premier, Georges Pompidou, and the possible defection of many Gaullist politicians.
Pacification—the attempt to thwart the Viet Cong in hamlets and villages of South Vietnam by organizing local residents, teaching new methods of production and providing a link, for the first time in many cases, between a hamlet and Saigon—has shifted its emphasis as a result of the enemy’s Lunar New Year offensive. Instead of the development of schools, dispensaries, roads and agriculture, pacification officials are now focusing on the bolstering of each hamlet’s security. The key thrust of the new. drive appears to be the establishment of self-defense groups composed of almost every able bodied man, woman and youth.
Senators Robert F. Kennedy and Eugene J. McCarthy held the first-face-to-face confrontation in their campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination and joined in a high-level discussion of issues in which they rarely disagreed. The hour-long, nationally televised exchange dealt with Vietnam, crime, civil rights and foreign policy questions.
Backers for Vice President Humphrey in California have organized an intensive campaign to hurt both Senators Kennedy and McCarthy in next Tuesday's primary. They, are concentrating on winning 20 per cent of the Democratic vote for an uncommitted slate of convention delegates headed by Attorney General Thomas C. Lynch, which. originally supported President Johnson before he withdrew from competition.
Campaigning in Michigan and Arkansas, Mr. Humphrey displayed an unaccustomed bluntness that indicated the fight for convention delegates at Chicago had begun in earnest. He told a group of Michigan Democrats, “When you needed my help, I was here—in the dark days, in the difficult days” and now he needed their help.
An internal dispute in the Southern Christian Leadership Conference over the management of the Poor People’s Campaign by the Rev. Ralph David Abernathy is becoming a cause of concern both inside and outside the campaign.
Helen Keller, whose life was a triumph of an indomitable and indefatigable human spirit over crushing adversity and shattering affliction, died at her home in Westport, Conn., at the age of 87. She learned to circumvent her blindness, deafness and muteness to become an artful and subtle writer and a crusading humanitarian who espoused Socialism and energized movements that revolutionized help for the blind and the deaf. She always seemed to be standing before the world as an example of unquenchable will.

Hafizabad
Tumblr media
Hafizabad (Urdu حافظ اباد) is a city and capital of Hafizabad District located in Punjab, Pakistan.[2] It is the 31st largest city of Pakistan.
History
Ancient
Hafizabad is an old city of Punjab, Pakistan. In 327 BC, during Alexander’s invasion of Punjab, the territory of the Sandal Bar was reported to be a well populated area. Large cities were located in this territory, and a lot of sub states were organised here under the presidency of maharajas and rajas.[3]
In the 6th century, Hafizabad was visited by the famous Chinese traveler Xuanzang. He moved to Sangla and stayed one night in a town, then called Jaipura, which was located near the village of Koriala.
Medieval
At the beginning of the 7th-century Rajput kingdoms dominated Eastern portions of Pakistan and northern India. In 997 CE, Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi, took over the Ghaznavid dynasty empire established by his father, Sultan Sebuktegin, In 1005 he conquered the Shahis in Kabul in 1005, and followed it by the conquests of some western Punjab region. Eastern Regions of Punjab from Multan to the Rawalpindi in the north (Including region of present-day Hafizabad) remained under Rajput rule until 1193. The Delhi Sultanate and Mughal Empire later ruled the region. The Punjab region became predominately Muslim due to missionary Sufi saints whose dargahs dot the landscape of Punjab region. During the Delhi Sultanate period, a big city was situated at the site of the present village of Mehdiabad. But afterward, this territory became unpopulated and jungle-like because of a shortage of water and Afghan incursions. This situation persisted until Mughal Emperor Akbar’s period. Hafizabad was formerly a place of some importance and is mentioned in the Ain-i-Akbari as the headquarters of a Mahal. Hafiz, the founder, was a favorite of Mughal Emperor Akbar.
Independence
The predominantly Muslim population supported the Muslim League and Pakistan Movement. After the independence of Pakistan in 1947, the minority Hindus and Sikhs migrated to India while Muslim refugees from India settled in the Hafizabad. Most of the refugees have since settled and intermarried into the local population.
Geography
Location
Hafizabad is 30 miles (48 km) away in the west from Gujranwala. Connection with the city is by Gujranwala Road or Hafizabad Road. On the Wazirabad – Faisalabad Railway Section, Hafizabad is the eighth railway station. The distance to the city of Wazirabad is 37 miles (60 km). Basically it is an agricultural city. Since the construction of an interchange near Sukheke Mandi, Hafizabad is now just 22 kilometres away from the M2 motorway.
Climate
The district climate is hot during summer and during winter is cold. The Eastern has the proximity of rainfall than the western part. The monsoon season is from July to September. Fertile soil allows the cultivation of high-quality rice. The average per month rainfall is between 50–75 millimeters.
Rivers
The Chenab River originates in the snow-covered central range of the Himalayas. It receives numerous smaller streams from the lower hills which depend upon rainfall. It breaks out from a rocky gorge in the hills, six miles (10 km) to the north of Bajwa District. Mostly people from Hafizabad take bath in that river.
Sialkot flows downward from Marala Headwork and enters Hafizabad District near Kot Kkamer, a village of Hafizabad Tehsil. It forms a natural boundary between Mandi Bahauddin and Hafizabad districts. Another very famous place is Head Sagar Complex in which an Irrigation Canal is passing over a link canal. It is a very common and interesting place for new visitors in Hafizabad.
Industry
A major portion of the country’s rice exports is from Hafizabad, which is sometimes referred to as the Land of Rice or City of Rice. Cotton power loom (weaving) is the second largest industry of Hafizabad. It is linked directly with the cotton market in Faisalabad and businessmen from Faisalabad deal directly with the cotton industry in Hafizabad. It plays an important role in the development of Hafizabad. This industry has been badly affected by the energy crisis.
Before the independence of Pakistan in 1947, the per-annum income of Hafizabad just from the rice was 15 million. Peshawar, Agra, Mithra, Calcutta, Karachi, and Sukker were Hafizabad’s main clients. Up to 23 rice mills were there until the independence of Pakistan.
Agriculture
The following types of rice are cultivated in Hafizabad: Basmati 385, Basmati 386, Super Karnal, 1121 Sella, Ery Nine, Erey Six, Super Fan, and KS 282. White Pearl Rice is a famous rice brand of Hafizabad. Hafizabad and Jalalpur Bhattian grain market is considered to be the biggest grain rice export centers of the country.
Livestock
Hafizabad richly diversified district in the livestock population. According to the last Cattle Census, there are 57321 Buffaloes, 210033 Cattle, 25112 Sheep, 122215 Goats, 2885 Horses, 47197 Asses, 2806 Mules, 346 Camel and 456865 Domestic poultry.
There are Two Artificial Insemination Centers one at Tehseel Hafizabad and the other at Tehseel Pindi Bhtian. There are six working Civil Veterinary Hospitals at Hafizabad, Pindi Bhattian, Jalalpur Bhattian, Sukheke Mandi, Vanike ,Kaleke Soianwala. there are nine working Civil Veterinary Dispensaris at Wachke, Kot Sarwar, Dhunni, Madhrianwala, Chak Bhatti, Thatha Khairumatmal, Kot Nakka, Wadror and Ghubrika. Besides all this there are Civil Veterinary Centers at village level.
There are two Mobile Veterinary Dispensaries at Hafizabad and Pindi Bhatian Tehseel respectively.
District Livestock Department is headed by District Office Livestock with two Deputy Livestock Officers viz Breed Improvement and Animal Health. There are Two Additional Principal Veterinary Officers, One Senior Veterinary Officer, and eighteen Veterinary Officers.

BMC seals 146 areas that have seen coronavirus positive patients or their contacts - mumbai news

BMC seals 146 areas that have seen coronavirus positive patients or their contacts - mumbai news
To prevent the spread of Covid-19, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sealed 146 containment zones (areas where a patient has tested positive or close contacts of positive patients reside), calling them ‘no-go zones’. The BMC has sealed containment zones with the help of police, barring those living there from stepping out. The BMC claims it will ensure the supply of essential goods and services to these areas.
In south Mumbai, 48 areas have been identified as containment zones, including in Malabar Hill, Walkeshwar, Peddar Road, Belasis Road, Worli Koliwada and Prabhadevi. In Worli, on Monday, eight cases were identified, after which the area was sealed. The total number of Covid-19 positive cases from Worli Koliwada shot up to 10 on Tuesday, as two more tested positive. Moreover, 13 Covid-19 cases were reported from a chawl in Prabhadevi, where a woman who operated a mess was tested positive on March 24. She died of Covid-19 three days later. As Worli Koliwada is a densely populated fishermen’s village with a population of 80,000-odd people, the BMC said it will not be possible to test every one for Covid-19. However, there will be a health awareness camp at the Koliwada from Wednesday, a 24×7 dispensary, and an ambulance on stand-by. A senior civic officer said, “The most challenging aspect of this is providing groceries and delivering milk.”
In the western suburbs, 46 areas have been identified, with Bandra West and Khar topping the list. These locations include Hill Road, SV Road, 21st Road, Government Colony in Bandra East. Another locality, Bimbisar Nagar in Goregaon East, was sealed on Monday evening after a 25-year-old UK-returned woman tested positive. The BMC have also tested the help, and family members of the 25-year-old woman.
The eastern suburbs have 48 such zones, with Chembur and Ghatkopar topping the list with 35 spots. Harshad Kale, deputy municipal commissioner of BMC, told HT: “We have already started securing the ‘no-go zones’ with the help of police.”
On Tuesday, municipal commissioner Praveen Pardeshi asked all 24 ward officers in the city to identify vacant places for quarantining close contacts of positive patients, who live in smaller homes and can’t be quarantined. For this, Pardeshi has ordered all ward offices to find vacant spaces in residential buildings, lodges, hotels, clubs, exhibition halls, colleges, hostels, ships and gymkhanas.
The commissioner in a circular issued on Tuesday also urged all private medical clinics and lab to stay open and attend to all patients having medical emergency. The BMC has also appealed to the general public to not use sodium hydrochloride for fumigation purpose on their own, but allow the civic body to do it. On Tuesday, Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar announced she would donate her one month’s salary to the chief minister relief fund for fighting coronavirus.
Further, chief minister Uddhav Thackeray also asked BMC officials to carry out proper tests in all 24 wards of the city.

The Ultimate Off-the-Strip Vegas Guide
Tumblr media
When you think of Las Vegas, visions of the famous, glimmering mirage that is the Strip are typically the first visuals that come to mind. The dazzling lights, sky-high hotels, and noisy casinos are all a part of the Las Vegas narrative. But that’s not all that the City of Sin has in store for visitors. It’s a veritable playground of historical sites, out-of-the-box activities, and unforgettable cuisine, and you don’t have to be right in the middle of the hedonistic action to find it. Here’s where to stay, eat, and play, away from the Las Vegas Strip.
Ultimate Las Vegas Strip Travel Guide
Where to stay: Thunderbird Hotel The Downtown Arts District is the ideal area for staying off the strip without being bored, as there are myriad interesting things to see and do (including MedMen’s Arts District location). Do you appreciate a hotel that’s kitted out with a retro-chic aesthetic? Definitely book a room at The Thunderbird, located right next door to the iconic Little White Wedding Chapel, in case you’re looking to get hitched.
Hilton Lake Hotel Resort and Spa You won’t even feel like you’re in Vegas while at the Hilton Lake Hotel. Located approximately half an hour from the famous Strip, this resort features scenic mountain and lakeside views, and it’s near plenty of shops and eateries in MonteLago Village. For the ultimate treat yo’ self-situation, book a massage in one of the 24 treatment rooms at Hilton Lake Hotel’s 30,000-square-foot spa.
Artisan Hotel Not into the whole gambling thing? The Artisan is a non-gaming hotel with plenty of elaborate kitsch to enjoy—think Interview With a Vampire-vibes complete with red velvet furniture and reproductions of famous art hanging upside down from the ceiling. (You’ll definitely enjoy that distinctive feature of the Artisan even more after taking an edible.)
Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa Roughly 10 miles west of the Strip lies this award-winning resort, which has everything you need for a relaxing getaway: a three-acre pool area, outdoor yoga, massive spa, and—wait for it—a bowling alley.
Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort This Morocco-inspired resort is also located at Lake Las Vegas and is a dream come true for those who take their poolside lounging very seriously. It boasts a private, white-sand beach, two massive outdoor pools, and a water slide.
Best Places to Eat off The Las Vegas Strip
Where to eat and drink: Velveteen Rabbit While you’re hanging out in the Arts District, be sure to stroll over to the Velveteen Rabbit, a stunning cocktail bar known for its innovative, whimsical drinks, which are made with unique in-house ingredients.
Sparrow and Wolf Did you know Vegas has a Chinatown? Head there to hit up Sparrow and Wolf, where you’ll enjoy a decadent dinner that will satisfy any munchies-induced cravings. Standout dishes include campfire duck, wood-fired lasagna, and a little something sexy called barbecued salsify.
Pink Box Doughnuts Satisfy your sweet tooth and grab a donut (or 10) at Pink Box. Throw caution to the wind (and eschew any low-carb diet in the process) by ordering a Fat Elvis, a donut smothered in chocolate ganache with a banana and peanut butter filling.
Esther’s Kitchen Mangia to the max at this Italian eatery located in the Arts District. Go for brunch and order a bread pudding French toast, or plan to enjoy their housemade pasta during a dinner date.
Other Mama The brainchild of chef Dan Krohmer, Other Mama is famous for its raw bar, which features fresh oysters with interesting condiments like blood orange and mint, rosemary mignonette, and honey and lemon.
Other Fun Things to Do While Visiting the Strip
What to do: Pinball Hall of Fame Is pinball one of your low-key obsessions? Spend an afternoon blowing off steam at this museum, which houses more than 200 pinball machines, some that date back to the 1950s.
Laundry Room Those who can never resist the mysterious allure of a secret speakeasy will love the Laundry Room, located in the Commonwealth. It’s only accessible via text message and you’ll have to make a reservation, so plan accordingly.
First Friday Las Vegas Plan your trip to Vegas to fall on the first Friday of the month, so you can immerse yourself in local art and culture at the First Friday festival.
Mob Museum If you’re fascinated by true crime, spend a day at the Mob Museum. You’ll learn about the history of famous gangsters, and if you want to go deeper into nefarious criminal matters, can also participate in a “Crime Lab Experience” where you’ll be educated on how to analyze forensic evidence.
Dig This Ever have fantasies of operating a bulldozer? Dig This allows you to pick a machine, get trained, and engage in some Bob the Builder cosplay. For a mere $650, you can destroy a car with a 30,000 lb. excavator. Make sure you’re completely sober for this activity, of course.
Make sure to check out your MedMen local Cannabis dispensary in Las Vegas while you’re in the area!

We’re really into spring cleaning over here at CAFE. A couple of weeks ago, we ran the first of our community cleanup efforts this year – focusing on Toronto’s Corso Italia and Harbord Village neighbourhoods. These communities are home to two of our downtown Toronto dispensary locations, and have been home for years. In an effort to spark positive change and contribute to the well-being of our communities, we at CAFE undertake seasonal cleanups each year to ensure our streets are clean, safe and pleasant for all to navigate. And that time of year is right now!
Following our first clean up, Team CAFE hit the streets once again this past weekend – this time focused on Fort York CityPlace, and Bloor West Village. The sun was out in full force and so was the team! Our crew met up at our 66 Fort York Blvd, and 932 Bloor St locations at the assigned times, and consisted of CAFE staff members and community volunteers. We were all one team that day in our green CAFE tee shirts! Piece by piece, our team removed lots of litter cluttering up the streets in these neighbourhoods. We managed to fill a lot of bags with trash!

Hi Nathalie! I'm going to be soloing it in Seattle for a couple of days next month and was wondering if you have any suggestions of where to go/the best ways to get around. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you and hope all is well!
i’m so sorry this has taken me almost 3 week to get to but let’s see.
Seattle Must Sees… hm
welcome to
Nathalie’s Unofficial and Last Minute Guide to Seattle
the Obvious:
Pike Place Market: see them throw the fish, take a pic in front of the first starbucks but don’t wait in line cause there are 8 within walking distance that sell the same stuff, eat a pierogi and pierogi pierogi or some mac n cheese at beechers, see the gum wall, get a pizza at the alibi room next to the gum wall, buy some produce or just sample the produce, ooh also get yogurt at Ellenos (get a walkaround of marion berry pie it’s the bees knees)
Seattle Center: This is where the Space Needle is!! if it’s a nice day this is a lovely park to go to there’s a huge fountain! in this area you will find the aforementioned space needle ( he is the love of my life) which you don’t really need to go up cause lbr the view isn’t that great he’s not the tallest boy out there, the Chihuly glass museum which is rad if you like art and siqqq blown glass i rec that hard, and the Pacific Science Center which is nice, there’s an imax there but don’t see a movie there cause i have a better suggestion (MORE ON THAT LATER) also the EMP shit i mean the MoPOP
for VIEWS:
Columbia Tower: this is where you’ll get the best view of everything, it’s the tallest building in the city! you can pay to go up OR you can use the women’s bathroom on the top floor and get sick views for free
Kerry Park: one of the most photographed views of seattle, she’s a sexy one, it’s on Queen Anne and parking can be a bitch sometimes but worth the shot you’ll get. also if you like greys anatomy meredith grey’s house is like a block from here
Smith Tower: first skyscraper in sea-town and u can go up the top where there’s a speakeasy and you can walk around outside. it costs money but it’s rad, i went before i was 21 so i didn’t sample the booze so i can’t attest to how good the drinks are
Volunteer Park: this is in Cap Hill and it’s lovely and green and you can see all of downtown even the lil space needle pokin his head up. there’s this water tower you can climb up and it has some unique views. if you do this, i recommend stopping at Hello Robin before hand and picking up a couple of cookies and some 2% milk to be enjoyed as you take in the Sights! (hello robin is a cookie place in cap hill that is delicious, you can get straight up cookies or a cookie ice cream sandwich with molly moons ice cream in it) ((i recommend trying a Macklesmore cookie))
Gasworks Park: this is over the bridge across the montlake cut and lake union in wallingford, if you’ve seen 10 Things I Hate About You it’s where they play paintball. but it’s an old abandoned oil refinery (i think?) that was turned into a park and there’s a lovely view of seattle across the water, also if you trek up the hill ( Kite Hill ) u can see even more and maybe have a picnic. A great place to watch the sunset!
Alki Beach: also notable, this is in West Seattle so you get a different view. P nice beach but West Seattle is kinda deep if you don’t have your own transportation. If you do make it out there, definitely check out Easy Street records.
To Do:
shopping!!!: loads of places are based in seattle like nordstrom and REI so if you’re hankering for some retail those stores are huuuuge. also thrifting is huge in seattle (this notion popularized by the macklermore ofc), aside from value village and good will you can find some top notch thrifting locations all around with some googling. fremont and capitol hill are good neighborhoods to look!
hikes: idk if you’re going to have time or if you like nature but the pnw has some of the best hikes, definitely do a google search about what’s near by and what you could feasibly get to if you’re interested
tours: ok so the Duck Tours are kinda controversial cause they’ve killed some people before but it’s a great way to see the city. you can also do a Float Plane tour or a water tour of seattle that are both rad as well. I’ve also heard good things about the underground tour but have never done it.
Museums: the SAM is right downtown and is good for art, if you’re there on the first thursday it’s free but that already passed so i fucked that up for you. there’s also the SAM Olympic Sculpture Park that’s totally FREE and is outside and lovely. other than that we’ve got the Pacific Science Center which i mentioned and the MoPOP: the recently renamed Museum of Pop Culture. If you’re on tumblr and you follow me i think that might be a top choice for ya cause it covers a ton of sci fi shows and movies as well as music and it’s pretty dope if i do say so
Catch a movie at the Seattle Cinerama!!!!: do this pls i work here and it’s honestly one of the happiest places in seattle. We’re currently showing Guardians of the Galaxy 2 !!! go to the cinerama get some mixed regular & chocolate popcorn, if you’re of age get a drink, and tell them you’re Nathalie’s friend and they’ll give it to you for free. it’s a state of the art movie theater and i love it tell them i said hi pls
Kayak on Lake Union: if you find yourself in the University District there’s this place you can rent kayaks if it’s warm enough/nice enough called Agua Verde, they also have good Mexican food!
smoke weed legally: self explanatory, find a dispensary, weed is cheap, smoke a joint in my honor
To Eat:
I’ve mentioned a few things but can’t hurt to do some other stuff
Tacos Chukis in Cap Hill are the best tacos I’ve ever had and I’m from LA
Dicks: a drive-in burger that’s a Seattle staple and must have, get a shake too
((Other good burgers: Rain City Burgers in Roosevelt, Lil Woody’s in Cap Hill/Ballard, Red Mill Burger on Phinney Ridge, probably more))
The Pink Door: downtown in Post Alley right next to Pike Place is my favorite restaurant and the creators of the best lasagna i’ve ever had. go there for ambiance and italian food that will leave ur tummy warm and satiated. it’s about to reopen after being remodeled for the last couple of months so go christen it for me. ALSO they do burlesque shows there and other types of live performances
there’s so much other food i’m too lazy to talk about it. honestly, as much as i hate their reporting style and superior-than-thou attitude, you should check out The Stranger. it’s a weekly newspaper (if u can call it that) and they have a “things to do” section that never fails me.
other than that! go blow my house a kiss in the U District, tour the UW campus, see the Fremont Troll, take a ferry to bainbridge, tour the theo chocolate factory, get in a protest, pet a cat at a cat cafe, who knows seattle is the best i love her dearly
if any seattleites follow me and have additional recs feel free to share

Who Exactly is the Community Safely Unit Keeping Safe?
Who Exactly is the Community Safely Unit Keeping Safe?
Article by Mike O, Cannabis Life Network
On Wednesday, Oct. 30, the Community Safety Unit raided The Medicinal Cannabis Dispensary (TMCD) at 1182 Thurlow St. in the heart of the Davie Village neighbourhood in Vancouver’s West End.
