i'm begging animators from all the respectable and estimable nations to stop copying the ugliest cursed aesthetic in the word, that being the d*sney style. you're from latvia or turkey or venezuela, doesn't really matter, but you're not from the u*a so please stop producing children films where all characters look like inbred d*ney characters. i'm sure your country has a beautiful history of animation, so why don't you follow in the footsteps of pioneers to create something as unique as their experimental animation from the mid century???

i'm heartbroken every time when i see an animted film druing festivals that i would love to watch bc it was created by animators from a country that doesn't really have much representation in the world, but i can't bc it's so fucking ugly

It’s troubling that people are saying “one of the last good ones” and other final-sounding stuff when they talk about Disney movies. Like the company is a celebrity who’s died.

I don’t like what they’re doing nowadays either but like…is it over? They’re never going to be the industry standard, the well-done-family-movie-standard, again? The big blue imaginary friend who’s movies are woven into the subconscious of every kid for the past three generations is dead and all we have left are the memories?? Seems like that’s what you’re all believing.

i feel like a lot of the 'i hate kids' crowd would be more tolerant if they understood that due to a kid's limited experience of the world that 4 hour flight might just be the longest they've ever had to sit still for or that trapped finger might literally be the most pain they've ever felt in their short life or they might not have ever seen a person with pink hair ever so of course they want to touch it or nobody's told them yet that they can't run around the museum and they only just learned cheetahs are the fastest animals so of course they want to put that to the test. how were they supposed to know etc etc.

As someone who has seen both the Ever After High show and the Decedent’s movies, the EAH show was so much better. I liked the characters more and the concept of legacies and how they used it was really interesting.

And while I never owned a doll from Decedent’s, my friend owned an Ever After High doll and the quality of them really were great. Probably one of the best dolls of its genre.

…Disney upsets me.

okay, there are many legitimate reasons to dislike disney, but can we please stop using “disney tells stories based on folktales!!11!!!” as one of them? pretty please, with cherries?

Also from the looks of your blog you do really love disney and care so much about the originals and that's good. But as for me I hate Disney and will no longer watch anything from them. Everytime I watch the original movies it just sad cause that's what Walt created. Walt is turning over, screaming in his grave right now. Everything he created, his messages is being destroyed... Disney is sinking and failing now

Yes, that does seem to be the case. I don't love Disney, I love God, and He's good, beautiful, and true. I love stories that remind me of Him. Disney used to make stories that were good, beautiful, and true. They have been struggling to do that ever since around 2016, I would say.

The truth of the matter is, they can't actually destroy what they used to make. It got made. It's not destroyable. All they can do is turn their backs on what they made. That doesn't mean their audiences have to also turn their backs on the classics.

I'll give you an example.

A couple years from now, if they keep going in the trajectory they're going, Disney will remake Frozen. They'll make plenty of changes to "update" the characters and please the loud people with progressive values. And they'll cut out the part in the story where Olaf very specifically says, "Love is putting someone else's needs before yours." Because right now, and much more in the next few years, nobody likes that message. "Love isn't putting someone else's needs before yours," they say, "love is being true to yourself!"

And you and me will be sad. But not that sad. Because we'll just point to the original and go, "Too bad, Fake Disney. You already said that self-sacrifice is true love in the original Frozen. You can try to take it back, but it's too late. You said it. Sucks to suck."

...That is, if the company survives long enough to make those mistakes.

So just say what I say. #notmyDisney. My Disney, the Real Disney, made stories that are good, beautiful, and true. The Real Disney was built on innovation and taking risks and trying new things, not rehashing old stories and twisting them up to satisfy progressive demographics. And there are still some people working for Fake Disney who used to work for Real Disney, and they might be able to turn the ship around and get her sailing straight again.

And if they can't we'll just keep enjoying the classics from Real Disney 🤷‍♀️
