Saw Brendan Fraser tonight as he was narrating the Candlelight Procession. He just looked so honored to be there and he looked so genuinely shocked and touch about how many people were there to see him as well.

During one part at the end, a fan in the crowed yelled “we love you Brendan!” And he smiled so big and touched his chest, then later I held up heart hands and he saw and everyone else followed me.

While in line a cast member told me this was the biggest crowd they’ve seen so far, I said “I hope he (Brendan) knows that” she said “he does! He said he wants to come back next year too!”

So. Mr. Brendan? I really do hope you know how much we all love you and support you and the crowd tonight was not just for the Christmas concert, but in support of you as well.

Lin-Manuel Miranda narrates Disneyland's Candlelight Processional

Lin_Manuel: My son wore this bow to the Disney candlenights procession so I could “spot him in the audience.” It WORKED. Then, when they sang Silent Night, and hit “sleep in heavenly peace” he took it like a command and I watched the bow droop down

Day 4-Disney

(almost skipped this one but then I remembered that Gargoyles was made by Disney) ( @pastthevaulteddoors I especially hope you enjoy) 

Based off of Gargoyles  Season 2 Ep 20 Eye of the beholder and Seto takes the role as Xanatos and Yami as Fox. I’m going off of memory of this episode and took some liberties with certain design elements. Please enjoy XD

Seto sat his chin on his threaded fingers. From his place at one head of the long dining table he watched his boyfriend Yami pick from a selection of sweets on a tray being offered to him by Isono. He watched the flicker of the candlelight play across Yami’s wild tri-colored hair and the red, dragon shaped birthmark that covered his left eye. 

Yami looked absolutely regal in his attire of a long sleeved red shirt that clung in all the right places. Paired with a black vest left open and black slacks. 

“Marry me.” 

Yami looked up from the desserts at Seto’s words. Words that sounded more like a command than a question. A sculpted eyebrow raised in silent question.

Seto stood and waved to Isono to fetch the engagement gift he’d prepared for tonight. 

“Why not? We’re compatible. Both ruthless and unstoppable in pursuit of what we want. We’re a solid match.” Seto offered his hand to Yami who took it and Seto gently pulled him from his chair as Isono presented the huge red gemstone with gold inclusions known as “the Eye of Osiris” that Seto had modified into a pendant by tastefully enshrining the precious gem in a golden housing that hug from a gold chain. The eye sized ruby sparkled like an opal in the light of the flames. 

Yami smiled and turned his gaze up to Seto. “What about things like love?” 

Seto smiled and lifted the pendant from the velvet lined box to drape it over Yami’s neck “I think we love each other. As much as two people such as ourselves can.” 

Yami grinned and held the pendant between his thumb and forefinger. Watching the large ruby sparkle in the dim firelight like an opal. 

“Very well. I accept.” Yami old Seto and accepted the kiss from his fiancee

In the months following the engagement Yami’s behavior grew increasingly more erratic. He would disappear every night there was even a sliver of a moon and come back in nothing more than a trench coat and smelling like a butcher shop.

In pure desperation Seto placed a tracker on Yami and from the surveillance tapes of the meat processing plants he was regularly breaking into, found out that Yami was bring changed by the magic of the Eye of Osiris into a large humanoid reptile. 

If that weren’t concerning enough Yami seemed to be getting weaker with every transformation. The nights of the new moon were of little relief. It got to the point that Seto added another tracker but this time it monitored Yami’s vital signs. 

That was how Seto found out that the transformation were killing his fiancee. 

On halloween night he went to Yami as they were supposed to be getting ready for a party. 

“Yami would you mind letting me borrow your engagement gift?” Seto asked as he entered Yami’s room. Yami was standing at the window and staring out at the sky. 

“Why?” Yami asked without turning around. 

“I want to get it engraved-” 

“No!” Yami barked “I-I can’t bear to part with it…”

Seto narrowed his eyes and ignored the moon rising to take its place in the heavens. “I’m afraid I must insist my dear.” 

“No!” Yami snapped and grabbed the pendant as he turned to face Seto. 

Golden light enveloped Yami and he reached out to Seto as an inhuman scream tore itself from his throat and he changed, his body collapsing to the floor as his muzzle and limbs lengthened and scales erupted from his skin. His teeth sharpened into needle like points and some that made ripping meat easier. When it was over steam rose from Yami’s body as he shuddered and panted. 

Seto took a step forward and in a blink Yami stood and leapt out of the window. Seto’s heart froze in his chest as he watched his fiancee plummet only to save himself by grabbing onto the wall of the building across the street and dig his claws into the stone like a gargoyle. 

It took over an hour to track Yami down, even with the tracer. By the time Seto found him Yami had already attracted the attention of the gargoyle Mai and her human detective Ishizu by devouring the food that had been laid out at the venue for a street party the two had been attending. Seto noted that Ishizu was wearing some stupid green robe and silver head piece. The three of them had gone after Yami and Seto had been forced to prevent the detective from shooting Yami. 

Yami had fled then and Seto had called Isono to track him down. He had zero intentions of letting the gargoyle leader and Ishizu interfere so he’d coldly told them to stay out of his way and went after Yami again. 

Like always Mai had refused to back down and they had all tracked Yami to another meat processing plant where he was devouring the frozen carcuses of cows that were hanging from hooks in the freezer. 

Seto flung off his coat to allow his new exosuit to better movement. It enhanced his physical abilities to match the ones Yami now possessed. Yet it still wasn’t enough to get the eye of Osiris from around Yami’s neck. 

When Mai had accused him of Yami being some experiment he’d snapped 

“That’s Yami!” he’d growled. Seeing their shocked expressions he grudgingly admitted to himself that he was running out of time and their assistance could prove useful. “I gave him the Eye of Osiris. It’s changed him in a way I could never have predicted and now...he’s dying. The change is running his metabolism so high his system can’t keep up and if I don’t get that thing off him he’ll just burn out.” 

Mai and Ishizu shared a look and, despite their past conflicts, Mai agreed to help him. Ishizu tagging along even though she trusted Seto even less than Mai. Seto didn’t care about their motivations. As long as they saved Yami he would make a deal with the devil himself. 

They cornered Yami on the roof. The reptilian animal he’d become growling at them in challenge and fear. The drool dripping down his fangs and down his chin. Just like a wild animal who has been cornered Yami fought without reason and without restraint. He threw Mai off the roof and Ishizu struggled on how to confront Yami without her gun.

Mai rose from her fall like an avenging angels and with piercing shriek she dove down and hit Yami square in the chest and forced him back into the lighted sign of the factory. Sparks flew and Yami struggled with Mai and Seto took his moment to leap into the fray and together he and Mai grabbed the Eye and magical energy mixed with the electrical sparks and caused and explosion that flung them both back. 

Seto sat up in time to watch a naked, human Yami collapse to the ground. Ishizu rushed forward and removed her robe to drape it over Yami’s unconscious form. Seto called Isono to bring the helicopter to his location immediately. 

Seto picked Yami up in a bridal carry and held him close. Mai and Ishizu stood together, Mai had one arm wrapped around Ishizu as without the robe she wore clothing unfit for the weather. Seto gazed at the Eye of Osiris still clutched in Mai’s clawed hand. 

But he didn’t have the luxury to pick that fight right now.

Seto clutched Yami tighter against him. “I guess you know my weakness now.” 

“Only you would call love a weakness Kaiba.” Mai admonished and as the helicopter rose up behind Seto, Mai picked Ishizu up and took a running leap off the building to spread her wings and let the air currents carry them off. 

Seto allowed Isono to help him on into the helicopter so they could get Yami the medical help he needed. 

To hell with the Eye, he had the most precious treasure in the world in his arms.

SasoThird - 

Verse: Through the Looking Glass, Darkly -

AKA the one where Sasori stays in Suna because he’s kind of a stalker and the Third doesn’t mind so much (because at least he’s not dead; also his stalker likes to spoil him and is lovely).

where they first met and how - At a parade celebrating Suna’s victory in the Second Shinobi War. The Council selected Sasori and many other veterans to be awarded for outstanding service to the state; the Third was the one that gave them their medal. Sasori was impressed by his warm manner and powerful speech… the Third wasn’t particularly stunned by Sasori. Ah well. Better luck next time!

who fell for who first ( if applicable ) - Hahahahaha. While Sasori developed a lot of respect (and eventually a crush, and eventually… this unhealthy sort of love), the Third is not interested in Sasori until way later in life.

how long their ‘flirting’ phase was before feelings got involved - Sasori has feelings way before he is even on the Third’s radar.

They get closer during the Third Shinobi War, when Sasori is more mature. Then, afterwards, Sasori uses his seat on the Council (passed down in the family; abandoned by Chiyo) to discreetly nominate himself to be the Kage’s personal assistant/advisor. He oversees the Third’s schedule; processes his mail and drafts replies; arranges lunch; makes sure the Third’s home is stocked with food; etc, etc. Good worker bee. Integrates himself into the Kazekage’s life.

He serves loyally for about five years (“the perfect puppet,” he likes to call himself), until the Third actually… flirts. Which Sasori never did. Because he didn’t know how to flirt. Um. Do they teach you to do this in training camp? No? Yikes. Well. He learns quickly.

who asks who out and how ( with a sign? spelled out on a cake? just a simple ‘will you go out with me’? ) - Sasori already assumes they’re dating so there’s no need to ask the Third out. The Third is too busy, you know, ruling, to worry about courting a man that’s clearly in love with him.

where their first date was and what it was like - Sasori would tell you that their first date was when the Third took him on an impromptu tour of his Father’s tomb. The Third would say that it was three years later, when he looked over at his assistant, bored, and asked Sasori to accompany him on a walk. They ended up getting in an argument about this or that scholar, and go to the Kazekage’s personal library, looking for a particular passage of a book to settle the affair.

who proposes first - I don’t think they ever marry. Neither of them see a point in the ceremony, they can’t have children, and the Third has a reputation to maintain along the clerics. That said, the Third is one that makes the first move that is blatantly “romantic,” requesting that Sasori draw him, knowing what art means to the puppeteer.

where the proposal happens and how ( kiss cam at a baseball game? on a hillside surrounded by ducks? at a disney park? ) - See above. Once the line has been breached, Sasori starts asking that the Third model for him; they also spend more non-work time just generally in each other’s company.

if they keep / kept their relationship secret or let everyone know right away - I headcanon that Suna doesn’t particularly care one way or another about same sex marriages … as long as the line is secured (which it is through cousin Rasa, thank god for him and Karura doing it like bunnies) no one cares who the Kazekage spends his days or nights with.

So, it’s not quite a secret, but Sasori would rather keep the Third to himself than let the “jealous little snakes” take what he’s earned.

The Third just prefers discretion. There’s really no need to tell the world what is his, but he may occasionally make sly digs about being romantically blessed to those who are less fortunate than he (i.e., the world).

if they adopt any pets together - No, Sasori has his human puppet collection which he tends to, not quite as numerous as canon as he has other things to focus on (micromanaging the village, tormenting Rasa, making sure the Third gets his tea on time), rather than carving up bodies… The Kazekage has quite a number of Sunan horses, however.

who’s more dominant - They both do this thing where they think they’re the one in charge… Even though they’re mostly equals. No...I’m in control, they tell themselves. (Idiots.)

where their first kiss was and what it was like - It was at the Kazekage’s estate. Sasori standing above the Third, reading some important documents over his shoulder, the Third looking up at him, admiring how the kohl sharpened his eyes and how his hair caught the candlelight… grabbing Sasori by the back of his neck and pulling down.

It stole Sasori’s breath away.

if they have any matching couples stuff ( mugs? sweaters? pillowcases? ) - Sasori goes into the Kazekage’s closet and makes sure to add accessories that allude to him--red scarves, arachnid patterns, etc. The Third doesn’t mind. Dressing himself is a bother. Actually he finds it a bit endearing.

how into pda they are - Sasori likes standing behind the Kazekage at a respectable distance, showing ownership. The Third knows full well that he does this. Occasionally he will drag Sasori behind a pillar for some alone time.

who holds the umbrella when it rains - It doesn’t rain in Suna. But occasionally they travel to other lands… And Sasori, being too short to hold it, gets a puppet instead.

where their usual ‘date spot’ is ( if applicable ) - in the Third’s bedroom with a small buffet of fancy foods personally selected by Sasori.

who’s more protective - Sasori is obsessive but it is the Third who will raze villages in the unlikely event that someone hurts him.

if they argue about anything - They bicker about philosophy but no serious arguments unless Sasori continues making human puppets against the Third’s direct orders.

who leaves more marks ( lipstick, hickeys, scratchmarks etc. ) - Neither, naturally, though the Third likes to play a game where he tries to make Sasori lose enough control to scratch trails down his back. If Sasori tells the Third to bite him, the Third would, just to make a point.

who steals whose clothes and how often - At this point I’m certain that Sasori steals clothes from all of his lovers, but for the Third it’s not often, less so when they get together, and even then only in the mornings before the sun heats up the sky. (The robes don’t fit him, which is annoying. They are not suitable for everyday life.)

how they cuddle ( spooning? facing each other? ) - Facing each other, Sasori’s head in the Third’s chest. The Kazekage likes admiring him.

what their favourite nonsexual activity is - Sasori likes serving the Third tea, which he finds funny, because in my Suna offering tea is an innuendo for offering sex haha. He usually does this while gossiping about other politicians, Councilmen, etc., which the Kazekage finds useful and entertaining.

The Third likes taking walks with Sasori, especially in the desert ruins, where the Kazekage chatters on and on about long dead civilizations.

how long they stay mad at each other - The Third dismisses Sasori for a full month when the man fails to obey an order to his expectations. Sasori avoids him for two. Then the Third refuses to acknowledge him for another three. They’re both way too prideful.

if they ever split up and / or get back together - See above. The Third eventually corners Sasori, deciding he’s had enough, and the two hash it out.

what their usual coffee / tea orders are - Sasori gets thick, imported coffee. The Third has red tea, usually, but enjoys sampling foreign, expensive drinks.

if they ever have any children together - Nope.

if they have any special pet names for each other - Sasori calls the Third, “My Lord,” because he’s his, and a Lord. Third calls Sasori simply “mine”. Like it’s a fact.

what their shared living space is like ( messy? clean? what kind of decor? ) - Clean and pristine, how the Third prefers it. No clutter except for a pile of books they are currently reading, and loose art paper here and there. A lot of marble, open floor plan, low tables with cushions on top of a lush carpet? It’s nice.

what their first christmas / hanukkah / etc as a couple was like - Suna doesn’t celebrate either holiday in my headcanons, but there are plenty of festivals devoted to various gods, where the city swells with merchants and food vendors from all across the Land of Wind and sometimes other countries.

Sasori usually spends them at the Third’s side, doing various official ceremonies, religious rites, visiting temples, etc. No kissing babies please. it’s actually very exhausting for them both, but the Third enjoys observing so many people in one place, particularly so devoted to him. Humans are so interesting.

if they have any ‘couple traditions’ ( buying a new mug for their collection every year? baking every friday evening? ) - Once their relationship is a bit more established, they eat dinner together often, and feed each other on forks.

who’s the big spoon / little spoon - Sasori is reluctantly the small spoon if only because it’s convenient on cold desert nights.

What is more likely is that the Third ends up sprawled on top of him like an octopus, hair and limbs loose and everywhere.

who falls asleep first and who wakes up first - They both fall asleep and wake up at roughly the same time, as they keep the same schedule, but the Third has to get up first because his morning routine is more high maintenance.

who hogs the bathroom - They both hog the bathroom for makeup purposes but the Third spends more time on his appearance, adorning himself with gold and carefully applying kohl. Sasori finishes first and helps him with his hair because otherwise they will be late, damn it.

(The Third enjoys being pampered.)

who kills the spiders / takes them outside - the Third lazily asks Sasori to take them out. They aren’t worth killing, in his opinion.

...Sasori privately considers them very cool, and maybe takes a couple minutes so sketch them.

...The Third notices and gets Sasori a particularly rare one for his birthday; black, striped with gold, and very, very deadly.

"Candlelight, privacy, music. Can't think of a better place for hand-to-hand combat" ----- Honestly if it weren't for my fun little Hot Dads series, I would probably never have drawn Phoebus. It's not a knock against the guy--I actually love Phoebus, he's an awesome character (some of the best banter ever written, man)! And he's got a great design--really unusual for Disney to have A) a blonde male lead (I think the only others are Wart and Kristoff?), B) and older male lead and C) a male lead with facial hair.  But he's not really someone I'd jump at to draw for whatever reason. Anyway, since Phoebus has been to war (for a couple decades apparently) I thought it'd make sense for him to have a few scars. Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party: This limited time parade made its' debut on January 18th 2018. It Celebrates Mickey and Minnie and features 5 classic character floats, live singers and dancers and lots of party celebrations. It's super fun and colorful and will have you foot tapping and dancing along. Check parade times.

Electrical Water Pageant: This 15 minute nighttime spectacle of lights snakes along Seven Seas Lagoon and the waterways of Magic Kingdom Resorts. You can view it from outside Magic Kingdom or along the shores at Magic Kingdom resorts. Check for times.

March of the First Order: Captain Phasma leads her Stormtroopers down Hollywood Boulevard at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The march is usually on the hour, several times each day. Check march times.

Seasonal Parades

Magic Kingdom has two ticketed events which both have unique parades. Both are spectacular and have amazing themed elements.

Mickey's Boo To You Parade: The Headless Horseman leads dancing ghosts and a host of Disney characters in this spooky parade. This parade is held during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. The event for 2019 starts on August 16th and runs on select nights until November 1st 2019.

Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade: Mickey and friends sing and dance  through the Magic Kingdom in this magical holiday pageant. The parade also features Santa Claus, gingerbread men, elves, reindeer, marching toy soldiers and other friends from the North Pole. The parade is held during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and also replaces the daily parade after Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party ends. Mickey's party dates are usually held on select nights starting early November ending the weekend before Christmas.

Nighttime Spectaculars

The skies above Walt Disney World come alive at night with darting lasers, dancing spotlights and spectacular fireworks.

With amazing projections on Cinderella Castle and fireworks exploding in the skies above it, Happily Ever After is a dazzler. It showcases current and classic Disney stories. Once Upon a Time is a spellbinding show that accompanies the fireworks. It uses projection-mapping technology to dramatically fill every nook and cranny of Cinderella Castle with Disney magic.

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth burst alive above World Showcase Lagoon at Epcot. In homage to the nations of the world, a memorable soundtrack accompanies brilliant effects. Now, more than ever, is the time to say farewell to IllumiNations. An almost 20-year run will end in the second half of 2019. Illuminations is generally 9pm every evening, but do check times.

Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular: This end of night treat at Hollywood Studios features the music, magic and characters of the Star Wars film series. State-of-the-art projection effects beams scenes onto the Chinese Theater. It also uses dynamic lighting, lasers and fireworks to transport you to a galaxy far, far away. Times vary with park closing hours. Show times.

Fantasmic: Spellbound guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios see the forces of good and evil battle it out. This amazing spectacle features pyrotechnics, laser lights, characters, music, decorative floats and dancing water. It takes audiences through the imagination of Mickey Mouse. Show times vary.

Tree of Life Awakenings at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will have you gazing in wonderment. Each night after sunset, animal images emerge from within the mystical tree. You'll see anything from flickering fireflies to a leaping doe to love blossoming among hummingbirds. It's enchanting! There are numerous locations surrounding the Tree of Life that you can see the projections from. It starts at sundown and runs frequently until park close.

Disney Entertainment with Character

It’s a pulse-racing moment when you know you’re about to meet Belle in her storybook house. See Ariel in her mermaid grotto. Hang out with Buzz Lightyear. You'll be spellbound when you meet a Star Wars hero or that true original, Mickey Mouse.

Double Agent, Double Date

“You are absolutely not allowed to come with me,” Baz said,emerging from the walk-in closet. He holds up two ties. “Blue, or green?”

“Why not?” Agatha whined from her blanket burrito in Baz’sbed. She’d just returned from a week in San Diego, and still hadn’t readjustedto London weather.

Baz turned and fixed her with a steely eye. “Because Simon isa normal person, Wellbelove. Do you understand what that means? Do you?”

Agatha shrugged. “That he pays taxes?”

“That he doesn’t have the tools to handle a narcissisticgrifter with the conscience of an old hat and the hair of a Disney princess.”

“He won’t even notice that I’m there.” Agatha fluttered hereyelashes in a way that had convinced many a millionaire to part with hismillions.

Baz merely sighed. “You are not, under any circumstances, toaccompany me on my date.” He held up both ties again. “Blue, or green?”

“…blue,” Agatha said sulkily. “And the grey shirt.”

“Thank you.” Baz set down both ties and picked Agatha up,blanket burrito and all. Agatha shrieked, fighting to get an arm out, butcouldn’t free herself before Baz dumped her on the living room sofa. “I expectyou to put that duvet back where it came from,” he said, and strode back to hisroom.

“I’m going to rub jam into your pillow cases,” Agathamuttered.

“I heard that!”

Agatha managed to free her arm, and showed Baz’s living roomexactly what she thought of him.

“What if I mess this up?”

“You’re not going to mess it up.”

“But what if I do?”

“Simon, you won’t.”

“Oh god, this is going to be a disaster.”

Penny looked up from her report. “Why would it?”

Simon stared at her. “Are you kidding me?” He ticked off alist on his fingers. “I don’t know how to use the fancy forks. I’m going tostain this suit in five seconds flat. This suit makes me look like I’m havingmy bar mitzvah. And I’m going to make a dumb Fruedian slip, try to cover my attractionto our informant, and end up revealing the sting we’re planning to pull onNicodemus’s gang to the entire damn restaurant!”

Penny looked him up and down, then returned her gaze to thereport. “I think the suit looks good, actually.”

“Penny!”

Penny squeezed her eyes shut and pinched the bridge of hernose, pushing up her glasses in the process so that they magnified her eyebrowshugely. “It’ll be fine, Simon. You’re good at your job, you’re smart, and thatsuit can take worse than a few hollandaise stains.”

“But the forks!”

“Oh, nobody gives a damn about the forks,” Penny snapped.

Simon nodded mutely. He was pale where he was usually ruddy,and his hands clenched and unclenched at his sides. If he’d been wearing ahoodie, the drawstring would be a sodden mess.

“You start from the outermost fork and work your way in.”

“Yeah, okay.” Simon nodded. “I can do this.”

Penny chewed her lip, and gave up. Magee would have her headfor it, but Magee would never find out. Besides, he was the one who’d assigneda newbie like Simon to this case. Battlefield experience did not mean he wouldbe any good undercover, damn it.

“I’ll come with you, if you like,” she offered.

Simon brightened, then shook his head. “You can’t.”

“I’ll use the department connections to reserve a table andsit somewhere out of the way. I won’t interfere. I’ll just be emotionalsupport, okay?”

“But Magee-”

“Screw him,” Penny said, thoroughly enjoying Simon’s shockedexpression. “Now get out of here already, or you’ll be late for your debrief.”

“Yes sir, Agent Bunce, sir,” Simon said, saluting crisply.

“Scram, army boy,” Penny said, smacking him with the reportin her hand. “I have to get ready too, you know, and I have work to do.”

Agatha perused the menu. It had been a while since she’dlast come to The Club, and she’d forgotten how pretentious the place was. Atleast it had been easy to get a table at the last minute. The name ‘Wellbelove’still opened a few doors, even tarnished as it was. As she’d made it. Whatever.

Finally deciding on the kimchi risotto and Gigha halibut,she tried to catch the waiter’s eye. When even a discreet wave didn’t work (alady never called attention to herself, and she was being a lady), Agatha grewbored. Instead of looking to her phone for amusement (because she was beingrefined), she opted for people watching.

The couple two tables over were clearly bored with eachother, and the man was at least thinking of cheating on his wife, if the way heogled the bartender was any indication. The old ladies sitting to her left werebeing extremely snooty about someone’s fashion choices, even though one of themhad blue hair and the other had her eyebrows drawn in so high that she lookedpermanently shocked.

Agatha glanced at Baz’s table. He and Simon had their headsclose together, and their body language clearly broadcasted sexual tension. Nowshe regretted the cookie crumbs she’d stuffed into Baz’s duvet. Of course,Agatha herself didn’t see the point of it, but Baz looked like he wanted toshag his date right slap in the middle of the restaurant. He would definitelybe taking Simon home.

Turning away from that amusing scene, Agatha looked aroundidly. The businessman by the potted plant was very grumpy for someone who waseating his way through an £18 eel soufflé. The pretty woman sitting at the barwas-

-was looking straight at Baz’s table, and was almostdefinitely a fed.

Agatha squared her jaw, all thoughts of dinner vanished. Shelet her gaze drift away naturally and took stock of the situation from thecorner of her eye. The woman’s dress was well tailored, but dull enough to beoffice garb, and quite unflattering. Her shoes were nice, though. Sensibleflats, which would make running easier. Her purse would definitely fit a gun,but it wouldn’t need to- Agatha would have bet the Hope Diamond that she waswearing a thigh holster.

So, there was a federal agent stalking Baz’s romantic date.A date he really, really wanted to go well. And he would be really, reallyannoyed if she interrupted him right now. His little heart might break, andAgatha couldn’t allow that.

There really was only one option. Agatha got up from hertable and crossed the restaurant to sit down right next to Ms. MI5.

“Hi,” Agatha said, smiling the smile that had convinced aduke to allow her access to the family vault. “Mind if I join you?”

“Actually, I’d rather be alone.”

“Oh, no one wants to be alone.” Agatha leaned in. “Look, I’mreally sorry about this, but that bloke over there is my ex, and he’s not anice person. I’d really appreciate it if I could sit with you. That way hewon’t bother me.”

The fed looked in the direction Agatha had pointed in, whereEel Soufflé Man was stabbing his meal with undue vigor.

“I suppose I can’t leave a damsel in distress.”

“Thank you,” Agatha said. “Oh, how rude of me. Meredith.Meredith Reed.” One of the credit cards in Agatha’s purse was under aMeredith Reed’s name.

“Penelope Bunce.”

“It’s nice to meet you, Penelope. Would you mind if I orderdinner? I’m starving.”

“Go right ahead.” Penelope flagged down the waiter with anod that charmed Agatha right down to her toes. “Excuse me? She’d like toorder, please.”

“Yes, madam,” said the waiter. “Would madam like a menu?”

Agatha considered her previous choices, and the effectsthose foods would have on her breath. “Yes, thank you.”

“Very good, madam.” The waiter shuffled away, and Agathaturned back to Penelope.

“How did you do that so quickly? I never manage to catchtheir attention.”

Penelope raised her eyebrows. “You just have to beassertive. Besides, I don’t believe that you have trouble catching anyone’sattention.”

“Well, it’s not usually a problem,” Agatha admitted, tossingher head.

Penelope laughed. “I like that you’re direct.”

Agatha shrugged elegantly. “Why be coy? I know I’mbeautiful, just like you know that you are.”

“Oh, I’m not…” Penelope made a valiant effort at blushing,and was saved by the arrival of the waiter with the menu.

Baz really, really wanted this meeting to go well. He wantedout of the Coven, and he wanted Nicodemus and his lieutenants off the streets.But most of all, he wanted Simon to succeed on this case, kiss him on anadrenaline high, and fuck him hard against a wall before never looking him inthe eye ever again.

Well, actually, he’d like a lot more domesticity and romanticcandlelight than that, but he’d take what he could get. Men like Simon Snowjust didn’t date men like Tyrannus Basilton Pitch the Third.

At first, the meeting had gone great, but Simon was growingmore and more restless. He kept looking towards the bar, and tapping hisfingers, and answering Baz’s questions with grunts.

Okay, the grunts were oddly attractive, but still.

“Is something wrong?” Baz asked.

Simon started. “Uh, no?”

“You look so guilty right now, I can’t even begin todescribe it,” Baz said. “Pull it together, Snow. Be a professional.”

“I am being a professional,” Simon said. “Look, uh, I haveto tell you something.”

I need you, right now, said Simon in Baz’s head.

“I asked my partner to come with me to this meeting becauseI was afraid I was going to screw this up,” Simon said in a rush.

Baz raised one manicured eyebrow. “Really?”

“I used the cake fork for the scallops,” Simon pointed out.

“Fair enough.”

“But she’s distracted, and she hasn’t looked at this tablein twenty minutes, and honestly I think the woman she’s talking to is one ofyour, uh, coworkers?”

“Where?” Baz demanded.

“And then he threw it straight out the window!” Penelopesaid, taking a sip of her wine.

Agatha was laughing so hard that she had to gasp for breath.“He didn’t.”

“He did! I looked for it afterwards in the bushes, and Ijust gave up, there were so many lying around on the ground.”

“Ugh,” Agatha said. “I’m glad I’ve never had that particularexperience.”

“You’d probably have more finesse than I did,” Penelopesaid.

“Well, as I’m asexual, I really think I wouldn’t.”

“You identify as ace?”

“That was… not the question I was expecting,” Agatha said,prompting a giggle from Penelope. “More along the lines of, ‘so you’re a plant?’”

“Well, I’d like to think I’m a little better informed than that,seeing as I identify as queer myself.”

“Still, you’d be surprised how many people-”

“Ahem,” said Baz, right beside her elbow.

Agatha whirled. “Oh, Basil! What a pleasant surprise!”

“Is it? Because I distinctly remember asking you not tostalk me on my date.”

Agatha waved a hand dismissively. “Potato, potahto.”

“That is the opposite of potato potahto!”

“Look,” Agatha said. “Maybe it is. Maybe I did the exactopposite of what you asked me to do. But I did it out of friendship. I wantedto make sure you didn’t screw this up!”

“Thank you for that vote of confidence,” Baz said drily.

“I,” Agatha said, with one hand over her heart, “am here outof the goodness of my heart. Because I care for you. Besides, you were so worried,I had to be here. For backup.”

Baz glowered at her.

The man behind Baz- undoubtedly Simon- put a hand on hisshoulder, and Baz relaxed a little.

“Come on, Baz,” he said. “She’s just trying to do what Pennywas doing for me.”

“You brought a friend too?” Agatha asked.

“I didn’t bring you!”

“Where is she? I would love to meet her,” Agatha said,ignoring Baz.

“Um, she just came to, um, make sure that my date wasn’t aserial killer. And left,” Simon said.

He was a terrible liar. “You know, you can’t tell if someone’sa serial killer just from looking at them,” Agatha said, her mind coming to afew conclusions. “And Agent Bunce here, if that even is her real name, wouldknow that.”

“It is, actually,” Penelope said. “Although I’m guessingyours isn’t Meredith Reed?”

“And that man wasn’t my ex,” Agatha agreed. “I’d like toknow what’s going on. Now.”

“I suppose,” Penelope said. “Simon?”

“I say we play this off as a chance meeting of friends andleave before we draw an audience,” Simon said.

“Agreed,” Penelope said. “Now, you boys pay, and we’ll pay,and then we’ll all leave and go somewhere else.”

“I choose the location,” Agatha said quickly. “I don’t trustyou.”

But, Agatha found, as Penelope nodded and called for thebill, she still liked her.

“So, you’re giving MI5 insider information on the Coven tobring down Nico?” Agatha crossed her arms, looking at the little circle offaces standing in the most neutrally located parking lot she could think of. “Anddating the agent you’re working with?”

“I’m not dating Simon,” Baz said.

“Oh, darling. You can’t con me.” Agatha frowned. “Well, noton this. I know your body language. Even if you’re not dating, you definitelywant to.”

“So the narc part doesn’t bother you?” Baz asked dubiously. “Justthe part about my love life?”

Agatha rolled her eyes. “Of course not. I’d be delighted totake down Nico and his bloodsuckers. And honestly, you need my help, becausethat boy of yours is a disaster.”

Simon shrugged, looking vaguely embarrassed. “Sorry.”

“Not so fast,” Penelope said. “How do we know that we cantrust you?”

“Agatha’s trustworthy,” Baz said. “As long as there are norich men with expensive tastes around, that is.”

“Or women.”

“Or women,” Baz added.

Penelope sighed and pinched her nose. “God, Magee will havemy head.”

“No he won’t,” Simon said. “I’ll back you up on this.”

“He does love you like the son he never had,” Penelopeadmitted. “Okay, Agatha. Baz will tell you how and when to contact us.”

“Or,” Agatha said, “Baz could take Simon home and you couldgive me your number.”

“Or I’ll just give you a burner phone,” Penelope countered.

“When would you give me the phone?” Agatha twirled a lock ofhair around her finger. “I’m guessing you don’t have one on you, and I’m notgiving you my address.”

“Tomorrow, ten in the morning, Notes at King’s Cross,”Penelope said. “…Wait.”

“It’s a date,” Agatha said, getting into her car beforePenelope could change her mind.

“It is not a date!” Penelope called after her. “It’s againstdepartment policy to date criminals!”

“Really?” Baz asked Simon.

“Nah.”
