CATCHING MY DEATH, AND I COULDN’T BE SURE

A spitting image of her mother - that was what people always told her. Jane liked to think that she would be proud of her, had she been able to watch her grow up. She was only two years old when the woman passed away, leaving her with nothing but blurry memories to piece together. Despite her not being there physically, she had the stories her father would tell her, able to see her mom through the eyes of the person that loved her more than anyone in the world; and he insisted Jane was her mini-me. She was sassy and eccentric, intelligent and passionate, she loved art and animals. As a child she spent most evenings in the study while her father worked, going over all of the wildlife books Ms. Porter had left behind until she could sketch the pictures from memory. She dreamed of leaving England to travel the world after college, thrilled when her now-retired dad agreed to accompany wherever she went. Their adventures soon led them to a small village by the jungle, where Jane was eager to learn about the wildlife firsthand. What she didn't anticipate was running into shapeshifters... and a handsome human man being raised by them. While she and her father were excited to see a side of the world they didn't know, the man he had hired to keep them safe had other ideas. She respected Taran's adoptive family, appreciated them for who they were. She would not have let anyone hurt them... and yet, they had led Clayton right to their doorstep. When it all hit the fan, Jane was left shell-shocked, unable to protest as the man pulled her and her father away from the incident. In his getaway car the three of them crossed the Evermore city limits, and gone were her memories of the incident. She wanted to get back to Taran, a horrible feeling deep down that something was wrong, but she was trapped in this quaint little town. Truthfully, she would have loved being there, getting to know the people, maybe even settling down... if only she could know that the man she was falling for and his family were safe.

❀ Tiya Mahajan: It's funny how having a cavity drilled could lead to one of the best friends she's ever made, but after a lovely conversation and a few get togethers, she feels a lot more sane having Tiya around. ❀ Francis Ferguson: She thinks he's... to put it nicely... a prick. He is far too full of himself, and she tries her best to be polite but always ends up leaving conversations with an eyeroll. ❀ Helena Borne: A fellow animal lover, Jane was drawn to Helena shortly after coming to Evermore. She thinks she's one of the sweetest people she's met, and goes out of her way to show her that whenever she can.

Far from city life and the roaring ocean you’ll find people of all kinds, and even something more magical lurking about. Humans, fae, witches and shapeshifters all alike live together somewhat peacefully within the towns unwavering borders. Not by choice though, that was the problem. No one could leave. Stepping foot outside the county line of Evermore will only lead you back down the same road to Evermore once more.

Hector can't exactly remember much of his life before coming to Godscobh, let alone before working for Mayor Zika. There are some fuzzy outlines there - a scraped knee or two from childhoods spent running around on gravel - but nothing more. There might've been parents, maybe even a whole family, but that's all gone now. Instead of dwelling on the past, Hector spends most of his energy nowadays avoiding the next time he might get burned (literally and figuratively).

He doesn't think it was always like this. His life wasn't always waiting on Hades hand and foot, waiting for the next time he'd get punished for screwing up. There isn't really any point in resisting his position though, fearful of the power Hades holds over him and Marc every second of the day.

Despite his position on the mayor's "security" team, folks around the town know Hector to be a docile type. He's more likely to be the one getting beat up, not the other way around. In truth, Hector doesn't offer protection like the title implies, his real job is keeping a watchful eye on the citizens and reporting back with his findings.

It's really more of a glorified assistant position anyways, since Hector's the one getting sent out on the most unsavory errands his boss can think of. It's a blessing in disguise though, Hector figures, since it mean Hades still trusts him enough to keep him protected and "under his wing".

After all, ever since he and Marc royally tanked that "Jerk-u-lees" mission, he considers it a miracle Hades never found out. He won't. He definitely won't find out, Hector has to remind himself almost daily. If that got out, Hector would be able to run anywhere anymore. It's been a few decades of keeping the town running now, so surely nothing is the matter on that front anyways. So there's no reason to worry about it! Nope, no reason at all.

Notable character information: Hector is one of the few citizens of Godscobh who knows who Hades is and what he can do. Hector is also keeping a big secret alongside his friend Marc, that Hercules lives.

I know this may be seems to be a bit sensitive, but would you help azul to have healthy relationships with food? Since while he is in diet food regiment too but it seems like his reaction to food is more....harsh than yours. Riddle also seems have a strict view to food when he was home and only open up after his....you know. I want to see you three having session about food and how to have healthy reaction to food.

(To kazumi: if this ask to sensitive to you, you can ignore this. Since i heard, azul view to food may actually sign of him having ED(Eating Disorder). And for riddle it just how his mom teach him but i don't really know if it count as ED too or not)

Of course. Azul is... Usually not the type to ask for help on anything like this, but if he reached out, I most definitely would. I do encourage him to eat when I can; he is on a good diet though, so it's hard to get him to eat without being obsessive over his food. I can convince Rook to steal Azul's charts when Azul doesn't notice so he can't write his calories down. It helps at least in the moment.

I do speak to Riddle and help him with his food issues. However, I think Trey does well with helping Riddle on his own, so I don't meddle there too much unless Riddle comes to me for help.

it's so insane to think we are celebrating ten years of our little corner of the tumblrsphere today. when walt was created in 2013 i never thought it would have this sort of longevity. i am so, so, SOOO incredibly grateful that we are still around and kicking in 2023. this place has given me some of the greatest memories, i went from 16 to 26 in what feels like a blink of an eye, i’ve met life long friends here that mean the absolute world to me, i’ve laughed, i’ve cried, i’ve scream at 3 am over characters & walt has helped me through my darkest of days. words cannot begin to even describe how lucky i am to have you all and this group. to our members: past, present and future, thank you. without you walt would not be what it is today. thank you for sharing your endless talents, love, friendship, kindness, time and energy. thank you for creating such dynamic characters with intricate backstories, for telling these stories that i love seeing unfold on the dash, thank you for helping us enrich the plot as we near the end of phase two and look beyond the horizon as we keep moving forward and thank you for sticking by us and being part of our family. we are so happy to have here with us. ten years is so wild and certainly not a small feat. today we celebrate walt and all it’s moving parts. today we celebrate us and our little family.

It’s not just home to fog draped roads and crashing waves, however. Hidden inside the town lines exists a wide variety of supernatural beings.Between the tall buildings and in the alleys lurk vampires, werewolves, casters and even a rumored siren or two. While they may not get along, they all share one common thing: they’re trapped. For some reason supernaturals find themselves drawn to the town and as soon as they enter they cannot leave. As time goes on and more and more supernaturals come to town it’s become clear that something needs to happen, and fast. But what?

Ursula once lived in Atlantica, but fell out of favor with her stepbrother, the king. She attempted to usurp him and was promptly banished. She bid her time, tormenting the merfolk while she waited for another opportunity to destroy King Triton. She would make deals with them for her potions, then turn them into polyops after they failed to meet their end of the bargain. No one ever escaped her. She would slowly drain their souls, her magic growing stronger as she did. Ursula didn’t care much for her sister Morgana, or anyone for that matter, but she loved her moray eels. Flotsam and Jetsam were better than family. Through them, Ursula learned that Princess Ariel had fallen in love with a human. Ursula lured her to her lair and offered to turn Ariel into a human for three days, during which Eric had to give her the kiss of true love. If she failed, the mermaid would belong to her, something she knew Triton could never live with. For payment, she took her niece’s voice. Ursula never expected the inexperienced girl to get far, but she did. When Ariel came close to kissing Eric, Ursula knew she had to intervene. She went to the surface as Vanessa, tricking Prince Eric into thinking she was the one who saved him. Though her wedding to the prince was disrupted, Eric and Ariel did not kiss before the time was up. She took Ariel, giving Triton the chance to trade himself for her. He did and Ursula finally dethroned the king. Her victory, unfortunately, didn't last long. She was defeated and everyone was released from their contracts.

Ursula should have died when she was impaled with the ship’s bow. Instead, she found herself at the mercy of Grimhilde, who saved her through dark magic. The old queen had taken over Cinderella’s life and demanded Ursula’s assistance. Grimhilde needed someone to be the Fairy Godmother, whom she had disposed of immediately. Her disappearance would become noticeable soon. Very few people possessed even a fraction of the power the Fairy Godmother did, so Grimhilde could not just place any person as her. Ursula was the perfect match. Grimhilde promised her the fairy’s wand, so Ursula agreed. In private, she still prefers to deal with potions, but the wand is certainly powerful. Her own magic is almost gone due to her near-death experience. She sometimes feels pained, as if the bow is striking her again. That pain is a constant reminder of what she has lost and of the destruction she craves. Naturally, the first favor she asked of Grimhilde was to get rid of the wretch who nearly killed her. She enjoys the power of the Fairy Godmother, but she is the true sea witch. Anyone who says otherwise deserves to suffer.

CATCHING MY DEATH, AND I COULDN’T BE SURE

Raymond had always been a social butterfly, partly because of his upbringing in a huge family with lots of extended relatives, but mostly because he just enjoyed being in the company of others. All throughout his childhood he could be found turning strangers into friends and creating bonds that would last for years and years. He always just had that kind of comforting aura about him and bubbling desire for an unsolved quest. That didn’t change as Raymond got older, his curiosity and sense of adventure only grew and following a falling star into the boundaries of a small town gave him his greatest adventure yet; Evermore. It didn’t take long for Ray to settle in at Evermore, he took a job as a door dasher delivering for all the local restaurants. It was a perfect position for someone like Ray, who wanted to know everyone in Evermore and everything about them as he was still in search for his fallen star. After a few weeks of asking around and befriending a lot of the restaurant’s staff Raymond met Louis, a lounge performer and Tiana, a waitress and the three of them hit it off straight away almost like it was fated. However gentle they were about Raymond’s star, it was clear to him they didn’t believe they way he did so Ray would have continue digging on his own. There was no telling what he could uncover in the process.

❀ Stella Wipple: She’s a frequent customer, Ray brings food to her at home and her restaurant so often it’s become a running joke that she’s the reason he can pay his bills.  ❀ Dimitri Kramer: Dimitri seems nice enough... but there’s something off about him. Maybe it’s just in his head. Either way, he doesn’t think about it too much. More important things to wonder about. ❀ Drew Reyes: Peas in a pod, it’d be weirder if Drew and Ray didn’t get along. He appreciates the younger man’s company so much, Ray will sometimes convince him to ride along while runs deliveries. It makes the day much more entertaining.

Megara was raised in Godscobh, the brightest little light in her parent’s life. Even when they both came home from jobs that paid too little and asked too much, they would always find time to cuddle up in her small bed and read stories. Megara fell asleep each night, dreaming of the day she would meet her one true love and they’d escape from this small, dying town. 

She was fourteen when she met Adrian at a friend’s party. It was like a magical, movie moment - their eyes locked across the crowded room and the whole world fell away until it was just the two of them. They became inseparable from that point on. Megara would have done anything for Adrian and it wasn’t long before she began to pull away from friends, from school, from family, in favour of hanging out with Adrian at the beach. How she graduated from high school was still a mystery - if she was being honest, Megara was fairly certain they pushed her through so they wouldn’t have to put up with her anymore. 

The two of them were out celebrating Megara’s recent graduation when Adrian pulled off to the side. “A surprise,” he’d said with a wink and a long, drawn out and wet kiss. Scrolling through her phone, a sudden bang had her ducking behind the park bench and looking frantically for Adrian. Movement caught her eye and she watched a dark figure tear out from a nearby alleyway. 

Ice flooded her veins. This wasn’t how the story was supposed to go - this wasn’t the end they deserved. And yet, there he was, splayed out against the cold brick wall, dark liquid pooling under his body. Megara tried to scoop it up, to place it back into his body so that Adrian could stand once again and press her against the wall, to make her forget the image of his still form. 

A hand rested gently on her shoulder and it was at that moment Megara realised she’d been making a low, keening noise interspersed with whispered prayers. “Please help him, please make it better, he doesn’t deserve to die, that’s not our story, that’s not how it goes oh god please, save him. I’ll do anything please. Save him.” 

And with that, a deal was struck - although Megara wouldn’t find out the full details until much later. But Adrian was breathing again and with no regard for the congealing blood, she threw herself sobbing into his now warm chest. He was alive, her Adrian had lived and no matter the consequences, she would gladly pay them for the rest of her life. 

Sadly, the deal she’d made was for life, not love. Adrian’s near death experience spurred him to turn his life around, to get clean and go back to school. He loved her but she was a bad influence on him and he couldn’t afford to have people like that in his life, not anymore. Megara watched, open mouthed in shock, as he drove off, his final kiss lingering like a brand on her forehead. 

The next day, one of the mayor’s associates was at her door with a letter of offer and a reminder of the deal she made. Megara allowed herself a final night of tears for Adrian and then locked that part of her away. She would not go back on her side of the bargain but she would never make the same mistake again.

Notable character information: Megara is one of the select few who knows who Hades in and also that he has access to old, powerful magic.

overall, barbie is very bubbly and fun, but she has a serious side, and she sticks up for what she believes in, and those she cares about, with a fierce determination. barbie is kind and considerate but, more often than not, she's fun-loving and ready to give any new adventure a go! she is, however, pretty private, and may find herself not talking about work beyond vague, non-answers.

HEADCANON: barbara is the cousin of Norville Rogers, who I will be using the fc of JOVAN ADEPO for, and who will show up on this blog, as well.

← ONCE UPON A TIME WAS A LONG TIME AGO →

Bitter are the wars between brothers — even when the brothers are not biological. Brotherhood has both the potential to be affirming and detrimental, and Jasper Hook has experienced both. In the beginning of his life, Jasper was on his own. Left at the Darling Home for Wayward Children, the poor orphan grew up parentless. It was there that he met fellow abandoned child Peter Banning, and the two soon became the closest of friends. Peter and Jasper got into a fair amount of trouble over the summers they spent together as they grew; Peter was the type to always scheme and want more, but Jasper was content to live in the moment. The older they got, the more reckless Peter got. Jasper was concerned but went along with it until they reached a breaking point.

Peter wanted to turn into a vampire. He thought it was a great idea even though they were both under eighteen and it would break the rules. It was at this time that a fisherman and his wife took an interest in adopting Jasper. He had to choose between eternal undead life with his friend or the family he had always wanted. Promising Peter they’d always be friends, Jasper was officially adopted and moved into a tiny house by the sea. Peter was enraged at what he believed to be a betrayal by his friend, and a bitter feud began. While Peter seethed, Jasper settled nicely into his new life. He took an instant liking to being on the sea and his adopted father joked that salt water ran through his veins. While the three of them didn’t have much based on his fathers fisherman income, the new family was happy. Jasper didn’t care much for the school they enrolled him in and would instead spend his days fishing at his fathers side or playing piano with his mother. He was, by all means, a lover rather than a fighter. Jasper believed things in his life were better than before and would continue to be. He was, unfortunately, wrong.

Although he moved out of the Darling Home, Jasper still stopped by to check in with Minerva Mouser. He was young still when he first met a new resident by the name of Taylor Bell. Enthralled by young affection, Jasper thought himself to be in love with her. Jasper drank her presence like air, never able to get enough of Taylor. He imagined himself with her forever until Peter reared his head once more. At this point, he had begun to amass a group of underaged vampires he called the Lost Boys. Peter set his sights on Taylor and Jasper had no idea. Peter whispered in Taylor’s ear, seducing her while spreading lies about Jasper. Jasper wanted to stay far away from Peter, but Taylor fell under his thrall. He was devastated the day she approached him and revealed that she had allowed Peter to turn her. Heartbroken, Jasper rejected Taylor and made it clear she never wanted to see her again. A strong dislike of the supernatural subsequently began to grow in his heart.

Heartbreak aside, Jasper continued to grow. He was sleeping one night when the sound of singing awoke him. A haunting melody floated along with the roar of the waves, and when the young man stumbled outside he saw a beautiful woman laying on the rocks. The woman wasn’t alone, however, and laying beside her was Jasper’s father. At first, he couldn’t believe it. His father loved his mother. What was he doing with this strange songstress? The longer he watched the two of them, however, the more Jasper realized that his father was unfaithful. In the morning he was greeted as if nothing had occurred, and his father smiled and kissed his wife as if he hadn’t been with another woman only hours before.

For weeks, Jasper wrestled with what he wanted to do. Did he tell his mother and break her heart? Or did he let his father get away with the wrong he had done to their family? Jasper stopped accompanying his father out on fishing trips as he mused over what was the right action. Finally, Jasper decided that he would tell his mother what he had witnessed. It turned out that he was too late, however, as Jasper’s father beat him to it. The woman that Jasper’s father had been with was a siren, a beautiful and alluring creature of the sea who were fabled to have lived around Walt’s Landing although no one ever saw them. She was one of the last of her kind, and she was with child. Specifically, she was with the child of Jasper’s father.

Everything changed in the Hook household. Jasper was at the age where he’d move out and live on his own, but he didn’t want to leave his mother as she dealt with heartbreak. It was because of this that he and his mother moved to a small apartment away from the water while the siren moved in with Jasper’s father for the duration of her pregnancy. Jasper did his best to stay away from the house as he wanted nothing to do with his father nor the siren, and a deep hatred for the supernatural continued to grow. He was forced to watch his mother all but shut down as depression ate away at her, and soon he had to take a job as a dock boy to try and pay for their expenses as she had stopped going to work. Despite his reluctance to step foot near his father, Jasper was awakened one night by a terrible storm and felt himself drawn to the water. There was a horrible but beautiful sound filling the air, and as he approached the shore he realized it was coming from his fathers home.

Inside, the siren was finally giving birth. Jasper found himself unable to leave as a small baby girl was born, a girl who was his adopted sister. Jasper assisted his father in wrapping the newborn up, and no sooner than they had done so they realized something. The siren was gone. True to her siren nature, she had turned and slipped back into the sea as sirens rarely ever raised their own children. Jasper’s father was horrified and panic filled. He was unable to accept the fact that he’d have to raise a supernatural baby on his own after already going through the shame of having an affair with a siren. Seeing no other choice, Jasper’s father waded into the surf and left the baby to die. 

Jasper wanted the baby gone. He really did. It was his sister, yes, but her mother had ruined his life. Hearing it’s pealing cries, however, Jasper found he was unable to let her drown and rescued the child from the waves. Knowing that he couldn’t bring it home and break his mothers heart further, Jasper made a rash choice. He had heard rumors of a caster coven who had retreated below the waves. Summoning their leader, Jasper begged him to take the infant as she belonged in the water anyway. The caster, Neil Triton, and his wife already had six adopted daughters. At the urging of his wife, Neil agreed and took the baby under the waves. With her out of sight, Jasper hoped she would forever be gone from his life.

As the years went on, Jasper continued working by the water and made his way up the ranks until he was given his own ship to captain. He cut off all ties with his father, and when the man died a few years later Jasper didn’t even go to his funeral. He did, however, attend the funeral of his mother. She was never able to move past what Jasper’s father had done, and a few years after the affair was revealed washed up on the beach with stones in her pockets. After her passing, Jasper moved to small houseboat and spent nearly all his time on the water. Taylor and Peter stayed young while Jasper grew up into a strong man with strong opinions. He developed a reputation for having a strong hatred of the supernatural, stemming from both his fathers affair with the siren and Taylor’s betrayal. Soon he became known around town as a bit of a pirate, and his crew seemed to share his hatred of the supernatural. If you weren’t human, it was best to stay away from Hook and his crew. If your name was Peter, it was best for you to run.

Relations with Peter became infamously bad. The Lost Boys and Hook’s crew, the Jolly Roger, continued to meet and clash in violent encounters. One particularly bad instance was when Peter was trying to recruit a boy named Markus Smee. Peter had befriended Markus when he moved to town and had murdered his parents and sister so that he no reason to not join the Lost Boys. Jasper arrived on the scene and fought Peter, but Peter cut off Jasper’s left hand in the scuffle. Peter was eventually fended off and Smee became Jasper’s right hand man. Fastening a hook over his stump, a war was officially declared with Hook and his crew against all supernaturals. Things were dark for a while, and Jasper wouldn’t hesitate to attack and call out supernaturals he saw. There was only one who was safe from his rage, and that was Ariel Triton.

Jasper wanted to hate Ariel, almost as much as he had wanted to leave her to die as an infant. He couldn’t though, and Jasper kept an eye on Ariel as she grew up. It appeared that she was going to be human, but when her siren powers manifested Jasper was disappointed. He didn’t make himself known to her until Ariel realized what she was, and even then it was strange for the two to admit that they were siblings. No one knew that Ariel was his sister, however, so Jasper was able to hide the fact that he was connected to a supernatural. 

And so, Jasper Hook was turned from a lover to fighter. If you see him or his band of ragtag sailors coming, it’s best to move out of the way. With his one hand and his boat he reminds most of an old time pirate, and his suave attitude doesn’t clash with that image. It’s only a matter of time before things grow ugly between him and Peter though, and once they reach a certain point there’s no going back.

✴ PETER BANNING went from the best of friends to the bitterest of enemies; Peter is now the bane of Jasper’s existence. Jasper knows Peter will stop at nothing to get what he wants, and what he wants is nothing good. Does Jasper miss his old friend? At this point, there’s too much blood between them to say. Peter and Jasper are now as diametrically opposed as could be. Peter took Jasper’s hand and Jasper is prepared to take much more from Peter if given the chance.

✴ TAYLOR ‘TINK’ BELL was the love of Jaspers life but she betrayed him when she let Peter turn her. He’s never forgiven her for what she does. It would be too far to say he harbors any affection towards her, but he’s never raised his sword against her. Taylor was one of the few people who loved Jasper when he wasn’t sure if love was real. Between her and his father, he lost his faith in it altogether.

✴ ARIEL TRITON and Jasper are adopted siblings due to the fact that Jasper’s adopted father is Ariel’s biological one. Even though Jasper has a strong hatred of the supernatural, he does have a soft spot for his sister. This may be in part because she was as helpless as he was when they were younger. Ariel was innocent in a way Jasper never got to be. Even though Ariel never knew they were connected, Jasper kept an eye on her. It wasn’t until after she was married and returned to Walt’s Landing that he made their relation known. Sirens are detestable, but Ariel is the only family he has left since his father and mother have died. Everyone now knows that if you touch Ariel you’ll have Hook to answer to.

✴ MARKUS SMEE is Jasper’s right hand man, and he knows that he can always rely on Smee for whatever he needs. Smee may not be the brightest, the strongest or the most cunning of men, but he’s loyal and that’s what Jasper relies on. Saving Smee cost Jasper his hand, but he doesn’t blame him. Smee lost a lot that night as well. They both have reason to hate Peter.

✴ THE JOLLY ROGER GANG – Over the years, Jasper has found like minded people who hate supernaturals or have been wronged by them. They’re known for picking fights and making their voices known whenever they get a chance. With that being said, they know when to fall in line and don’t break the rules that Jasper sets. Some call them pirates, but they don’t care for labels. They just want to rid Walt’s Landing of supernaturals once and for all.
