I was worried that Aminah would be yet another use of the evil DID alter trope but so far she just seems like a fierce no-nonsense protector alter to Farrah & is willing to kick ass if she has to, even if it’s her host’s ass in the dreamscape in the event’s case. She’s said a somewhat concerning line or two (“these hands were made for crushing skulls not tapping keyboards”, etc) but otherwise she seems nice

Inspiration behind the ship:

I like me a good selfcest so I was already inclined to ship them but they are so different and provide a very refreshing take on many issues. Aminah being harsh on Farrah when she's running away from her past while at the same time protecting her and Farrah actually responding positively to it is one of my favorite things about them.

Why it’s underrated and how it’s overlooked:

Too many antis in the fandom branding everything problematic and too many self-diagnosed teenagers claiming they are this or that and therefore mentally toddlers. Dislyte fandom also isn't big to begin with and well over half of it are gay furries (no shade, just stating fact).

In-Depth:

About Farrah:

Farrah went through awful trauma since her childhood. First, she lost her father when the Miracles arrived, then she and her mother lived in extreme poverty as refugees. Finally, Farrah's mother agreed to give Farrah over to a shady "orphanage" in exchange for money and with hopes it would be better for her that way. However, the "orphanage" ended up being an underground lab that ran human experiments, trying to forcibly infuse divine powers into children. Farrah was their great success, so they later decided to infuse her with a second power. During this time, Farrah became incredibly depressed, writing and rewriting a will for her inevitable death. She was also very lonely, being the only success of the experimentation as far as she knew and watching the other experiment subjects dying or being discarded. When she was infused with a second power, she grew a second head and developed a separate consciousness, Aminah. Aminah would be awake when Farrah was asleep and vice versa but Aminah also takes over when a trauma is triggered. Thanks to this, Farrah was able to escape the lab. After escaping the lab, Farrah joined the Esper Union and despite her awful self-esteem and terrible lack of social skills, she managed to make some friends. Aminah is still her closest one though. She started a diary to write into so that Aminah may know what happened while Farrah was in charge. Farrah also still writes a new will every day.

What she wants in a relationship:

She doesn't feel like she deserves a relationship or even thinks she could handle one, most likely. She barely can believe she has friends.

What she needs in a relationship:

Someone to ground her, to keep her focused on the future. She doesn't respond well to overly kind treatment and needs to sometimes be harshly reminded of reality and that she can't hide away from it forever – all the while knowing she has someone to lean on when things get tough.

About Aminah:

Aminah has little in terms of backstory as she only came into existence as Farrah's second self (though they deny this and keep insisting they're separate people). She is usually mean and sort of brash but cares about those around her, especially Farrah and the other experiments. She does what needs doing and doesn't mind setting things on fire first and asking questions later. Her soft spot for Farrah doesn't mean she'll let her do whatever though. Aminah's primary focus is on keeping Farrah safe and if she has to force her into treatment or facing her trauma for it, she will do it – at least if not doing it would endanger Farrah.

What she wants in a relationship:

Aminah doesn't seem to want a relationship, mostly as she's most focused on Farrah. Even with friendships, she's not interested in them unless the people trying to befriend her are Farrah's friends first.

What she needs in a relationship:

Someone to calm her snarky personality and balance it out as well as someone to conserve the energy she uses up. Aminah also needs someone to protect, much as she's unhappy to admit it.

How they would be good for each other:

Aminah helps Farrah face her issues at a pace that won't overwhelm her but also holds her accountable when she shuts out too much. On the other side, Farrah is the "main body" so to speak but even beyond that, she understands Aminah like nobody else and not only cherishes her but also explains her attitude to others so that they may come to like Aminah too.

How they would be bad for each other:

Farrah may end up relying too much on Aminah's protection, though I doubt Aminah would really let that happen. However, I don't know if Farrah could stand up to Aminah if Aminah's attitude ever got too harsh on someone other than Farrah.

Dealbreakers:

They don't really have a choice since they're stuck in the same body lol. But I think they'd be able to reconcile almost anything given how deeply they understand each other.

How they met:

Aminah manifested after Farrah was infused with a second divine power during the experiments. We don't have many details on it as it is hinted that both of their memories of the event are quite fuzzy, likely due to the trauma it inflicted. Farrah still blacks out every time she is confronted with anything to do with the lab and Aminah needs to take over for her.

How it would play out:

I don't have any too clear an idea. Honestly, anything works for them so long as it doesn't change who they are as characters.

Anything that prompts more scavenger interactions is great in my book. "Blessed" by the powers of Cetus (though Damian believes it more of a curse) he is a charismatic and and protective fella, if not a little airheaded at times.

He lived on Amuse Street with his family- or at least better to think of them as family rather than a rag-tag group of orphans. He wad the eldest of them all so he felt responsible for going out and doing odd jobs so they could be comfortable, as they lived in a rather run down apartment.

A weird group no one had seen before came by one day and starting demanding they family pay up; the former owner of this apartment owed them money after getting a loan and they wanted it back. Trying to tell how they didn't know who the person was, the loan sharks did not care and forcibly kicked them out. Damian tried putting up a fight but he was attacked and was nearly drowned. Until he was blessed by Cetus, and started together his revenge on these people until there were none left.

He would be somewhat known as a protector of his community, "mysteriously getting rid" of those who couldn't take what a warning meant. It was going well, until the fact that he accidentally (not really) got rid of someone who the Esper Union was looking for, which got his name up on their list too.

Damian didn't even realize what was happening until it was too late and his neck was meeting the end of Farrah's blade. He tried to flirt his way out of the situation with Farrah, only to meet and piss Aminah off. Which made him scared shitless and give up.

He was questioned by Luo Yan, and while its horrible what Damian did he believed they could let him join to monitor him (also he provided information on the guy they were looking for so that's always a plus).

He now spends his days helping the Esper Union, unsuccessfully flirting with Farrah, and visiting his community in Amuse Street. Aminah tolerates him now, mostly because he sometimes goes along with their pranks.
