honestly Hanzo is kind of the nicest with Killua outside of the main four.

He's the one who grabbed Killua to stop him from jumping overboard after Gon,

He's the one who volunteered to go out with (and physically support) Killlua when they followed Gon to rescue Battera (special shout out as well to Bodoro and Goz, who hopped into the boat without question to row)

He's the one who stopped Killua AGAIN from jumping recklessly after Gon (and nearly getting clawed for it, Killua looked ready to murder him)

He continuously interacts with him without being demeaning to his age or afraid of his experience, treating him the same as he does Gon or anyone else. It's a sort of casual, normal dynamic with another person that Killua is particularly starved of.

and Illumi's like that's weird I don't sense any aura from them

the next time he encounters you is at a bar, where he was to meet his red haired companion once again

you apologize for him having to see you chase down Hisoka like that, explaining that you don't particularly like violence but your anger get's the best of you

he was already intrigued that you were assumedly able to rip a stop sign out of the ground so naturally he asks you about it

"So I take it you're an enhancer?" "Enhancer of what?"

now he is even more interested

as he was walking he saw some dude get tossed through a shop window with a table following suit

Chrollo peeked through the broken to see you standing there, angrily and seemingly underpaid

and he was surprised that it was you who managed to throw both a grown man and a table through a window and across the street

you seemed like every average person so how the hell did you even do that?

and being the crazy yet curious guy he is he steps in through the broken window and you're like oh fuck that was unprofessional

and you chat and you tell him you don't like absolutely bodying people like that but your body has a mind of it's own when angry

and you apologized to him for almost catching him in the crossfire

and he's learned how to avoid ticking you off

yeah, sometimes he makes you mildly angry and gets a mug or two chucked at him but he has yet to be on the receiving end of a literal boulder or large household appliance

I WAS SO SHOCKED AT THE BONOLENOV REVEAL BUT IT'S SO GOOD. Like we KNEW Bonolenov had some way to disguise himself and everyone IGNOREDDDD ITTTTT because we were like "oh but if that's not Hisoka, it has to be Chrollo right" NO. IT'S NOT THE FAN FAVE CHARACTER. SO FUNNY. I love it. I love Bonolenov now. His ability is really cool and I like the way he thinks. On the OTHER hand his KILLED LYNCH!!! Fuck!!! I liked her!!!

Honestly the part of this chapter that gets me the most though is Chrollo. Everyone in the troupe knows that Chrollo is just pretending to be okay! Everyone is trying to look out for him! He kept Pakunoda's spot open because of how much he cared for her... he's devastated by the deaths of Shalnark and Kortopi the same way he was devastated over Uvo... It's an interesting angle to take with Chrollo, to focus on how his troupe react to his grief and rage by trying to PROTECT him. Someone on twitter pointed out that this is the same thing Gon and Killua did for Kurapika! They didn't want Kurapika to kill more people during Yorknew!!! And while it's not EXACTLY the same with Chrollo, it's definitely notable that they want to kill Hisoka first specifically because they understand what Chrollo is going through, as opposed to letting him do it and purposefully pointing him towards it.

At this point I hope that Chrollo and Hisoka don't have a rematch. It would be better for Chrollo's character to lose that chance for revenge and have to face those feelings, though I'm not sure about what should happen with Hisoka.

And of course, Chrollo wants to find a "treasure" that can 100% kill Hisoka, and I wonder if that's connected to the succession war. I mean... it's gotta be, right?

i don’t think illumi would be terribly fazed being around a woman stronger than him. a lot of his family members are stronger than him anyway. he’d definitely respect you- it’s not often someone is stronger than him without recieving the harsh treatment he did growing up that allowed him to become as strong as he is.

he’ll probably have a lot of respect for you, and illumi will want to know how you became so strong. he won’t want to fight you, unlike hisoka, because unless you’re someone he considers an enemy you aren’t on his list of priorities. if anything, illumi will more than likely want you as an ally.

shit that hisoillu do in my opinion (literally bullshit that make me laugh, they're clowns)

So, yeah. This present prompt is only made of headcanons (I'm tired, and also writing a fic would have felt like overwriting the manga, so... I'm not doing it, nuh-uh). But it feels like this list should be yelled into the darkest and coldest nights just to hear wolves howling their laughs, asking who these idiots are. Me and @lumizold always talk on the phone and yap about them, and the result is always very funny.

So, 15 hisoillu headcanons (and one is a gon headcanon in disguise).

hisoka has a specific way to smile. he really looks like a fox. illumi can tell the difference between his normal smile and his fox-like smile. he loves more this one.

illumi is always SO mad at hisoka. it's not like he has not a specific, or good, reason. it's just that hisoka's like a cat: he's so troublesome. he first drops a flower pot (he killed too many people during their mission, what a waste of energy), then his needs became too needy and makes someone angry (fell in love with gon, killua, gon, gon, freecss, and again, gon. illumi's so done with this shit).

illumi has a car. he drives the car perfectly (or at least, without crashing the car, but he does not follow the rules). he does not have a license.

hisoka has not a car. he does not drive the right way. still, he has a driver's license. how?????

when the police stops him because he's speeding, he likes to give the officer a playing card from his deck transformed into a driver's license. when the officer notices that the license has a strange texture (too thin, too flexible...), he's already slamming on the gas pedal and speeding away, taking from the police's hands his card with bungee-gum. illumi loves the sudden rush of adrenaline (they do it only when they're together).

hisoka has only two decks of cards. first one, the deck of cards he has since he managed to buy (or steal?) one on his own. the second one is a gift from illumi, took from a house in which he committed a murder. this one is for playing solitaire only, and the back of the cards is golden.

hisoka doesn't need to buy new decks. he just need to use bungee-gum to prevent anyone from stealing cards or destroy them. also, he loves using his solitaire deck for magic tricks. but only when illumi's not threatening to burn a card. or when killua's not trying to tear one. or gon's not trying to eat one.

gon is hisoka's curious boy. he loves to explore the world... by putting everything in his mouth. cards included. he thinks they could taste like bubblegum, like hisoka's aura. hisoka does not appreciate it. neither does illumi. because that's ILLUMI'S gift. that's not gon's lunch.

hisoillu think about their future: illumi's thinking to try and be a better brother to killua, so... bonding time. (probably he'll trying to take alluka again, killua's not having it). hisoka and gon just watch them and play together. so bonding time. hisoka's trying to have a family by stealing these two. illumi appreciate the thought (worst that could happen is killua short-cutting hisoka and illumi taking all of his money (he loves his marriage)).

while at home, hisoka does lots of bullshit pretending to be silly funny (illumi actually laughed once so he's trying to ride this wave until the next scolding).

illumi keeps saying to hisoka that, with his incongruent and blunt manners, is slowly becaming a total clown.

hisoka tends to reply that, if he's a clown, the zoldyck family definitely should accept him... because they're a total circus.

illumi instantly replies shit abruptly, annoyed.

hisoka keeps being smart aleck.

no one really knows how, they always end up making out wildly. no. it's not specified where. no. is better not to know.

Illumi!

Illumi is the first chatacter I'll talk about that we've seen recently. Allegedly, he's married to hisoka and stands to gain a great deal of money from this arrangement when he kills Hisoka.

I personally ascribe to the theory that Hisoka is currently disguised as Illumi and Illumi is currently disguised as Hisoka. The marriage proposal sounds like a very Hisoka lie. Needlessly flirtatous I would say, and that describes Hisoka to a T.

Illumi as Hisoka however is pretty stern, and makes expressions similar to those of Illumi. He never lies, merely avoids the question and does not directly answer to Hisoka. He's very strong and pretty evil, but that's all we know about "Hisoka."

Tbh the future holds the camera cutting back to Illumi and he's balls deep in with hisoka while they casually talk about plans to kill the spiders, then swap places as each person resumes their real identity, foreseeing Chrollo foreseeing that Illumi was secretly Hisoka, and attacking with a plan to counter Hisoka that faulters in the face of Illumi.

Basically, they're swapped but I think Chrollo has already figured it out and his plan involves Bonolonov and Machi, whose abilities are bad against Hisoka, finding Illumi disguised as Hisoka and fighting him to eliminate Illumi, Hisokas only help, only to be surpised when Hisoka is really Hisoka.

ALTERNATIVELY

if Illumi is really who he says, his methods are circuitous. If he really wanted to find Hisoka, he would probably best be served sticking to a group of spiders, following them until a lead presented itself, then ditch once it did.

Instead he chooses to travel with his younger sibling, someone trustable and obedient with passable information gathering capacities. If I had to guess, Illumi is telling the truth but not the whole truth. He is searching for Hisoka, but that's a second or third priority to a larger family project. Perhaps one of the Kakin Princes has hired the zoldyck in advance, being tipped off to succession war in advance, or at least infurring from it's convience aboard the black whale. The current hot target would likely be morena.

I love the difference of Illumi disguised as Hisoka sitting so close to the action but very much minding his business meanwhile Hisoka minds his business but as far away as possible from everyone else. even when disguised, little bits and pieces from their personalities separate them greatly. just like illumi sat at the front and hisoka at the back in the hunter exam :')

To not spoil too much, it's basically where reader is doing the Hunter Exam and in that Trick Tower test, reader and Illumi disguised as Gittarackur have to team up. Then after that it's just cute Reader and Illumi falling for each other without realizing.
