it's so frustrating they don't take the necropolis as an opportunity to explore spirits with more depth in veilguard. or even Manfred's whole thing. Manfred being able to learn to speak implies that any wisp is capable of it with time. they have preferences and emotions and comprehend speech but you still shouldn't be concerned that they are used for slave labour in the necropolis. you're supposed to be horrified that Hezenkoss is abusing spirits but not at that. engaging with spirits as people introduces too much nuance to the situation and veilguard is absolutely incapable of dealing with it. otherwise they'd have to engage with why Solas wants to tear the veil down

>400 years since the fall of Khaenri'ah, Dain has been researching on a way to put a stop to the Abyss Order but also to end the tyranny of the gods behind the pretense of "fate" in order to give humanity the freedom it should have. For that purpose, by following the steps of the cosmic voyager —one of the Khaenri'ahn race first forebears— after reaching his potential to do so by birth in combination to retracing the connection Irminsul has to the Imaginary Tree and understanding that the Abyss poses a threat not only to Teyvat but to other worlds too, Dain embarks on a spiritual journey to find something that will cause a change in Teyvat— a power from beyond.

Amphoreus is the first world he comes across where he can sense something akin to the Abyss, yet he lacks the information on what it exactly is. Thus it becomes the chosen world to find answers behind the Abyss' behavior and see through another world's strife and means to vanquish it what he can do for Teyvat. In view of this, some pointers about him and his deeds are as follows:

✦ He's able to purify the effects of the Black Tide as he is with the Abyss in Teyvat, following his mastered ability from his connection to Irminsul and his own innate roots from the First Angel.

✧ Following his skepticism towards gods (not hatred), he isn't entirely satisfied with the prospect of humans becoming gods but states no negative word about it. He understands his place and he doesn't pretend to butt in with his own experiences when they can't apply to Amphoreus. Regardless, it will be evident that he has his reservations on this matter.

✦ He wants to offer his aid to the Flame-Chaser cause while not partaking into becoming a demigod himself, should any of their members see it necessary.

✧ Given the fate prospect of Amphoreus, he remains skeptical to this and it becomes one of the reasons why he will investigate on his own (alongside other characters if it applies) the truth behind it. The other reason will be his sentience for the souls and the strangeness he will sense, byproduct of those same souls having undergone other lives cycles.

✦ Lastly, attending to Irminsul, the Imaginary Tree and one of his titles being Confluence Between the Past and the Future, he will have the means to traverse time both for the cause and for his own investigation and actual purpose of his arrival to Amphoreus in the first place.

Should there be more details worth mentioning for this verse, the pointers will be expanded on or increased in number.

Glitches weren't an uncommon occurrence for her these days. Little things, minor disruptions within her inner workings, the result of poor (or rather, complete lack of) maintenance on her body due to the absence of Gardenview's human staff. Small distorted spots in her vision, involuntary buzzing and crackling noises playing from her speakers... Annoying, but manageable. Not anything that anyone other than herself needed to know about. Not even Brightney or Astro. There was nothing severe enough going on to warrant asking for help.

Still, be it by luck or through some other means, the glitches had never posed too much of a hindrance to her during runs.

Until now, anyway.

By the time Vee processed what had happened, it was already too late. What had started as one of her more typical audio malfunctions quickly gave way to her full body freezing up, compromising both her sight and her movement. She couldn't have removed herself from the extraction machine in that moment even if she was aware enough to try. So, of course, with the machine left running for several seconds with no one to operate it, it soon ran into errors, buzzing and spluttering and summoning any nearby Twisteds with its noises as its functions failed.

How embarrassing, to have messed up like that. And not to mention dangerous—she and Glisten were lucky to have a decent enough hiding space nearby. Which was where the two of them now concealed themselves as some of the floor's corrupted ex-Toons arrived and inspected the consequences of her failure on the other side of the room.

It was concerning, too, if she was honest with herself. To malfunction that badly the way that she did... Had she been actively running from Twisteds at that moment, it would have been a death sentence. And unlike the injuries or ichor exposure sustained over the course of a run, her glitching wasn't something a respawn through the Reanimation Station would fix. Or at least, it never had in the past.

What had happened was far worse than what she usually experienced, but... Was it going to become her new normal?

There wasn't time to dwell on that, though. She'd push through, as she always had.

But yes, I am aware, I have read that exact same thread before (when I first learned about the Romancing SaGa inspo on r/OnePiece and wanted to learn more), and I did briefly discuss the Seven Heroes when speculating about Cross Guild and wherever the fuck that plotline is going

And I'm now going to add onto that original post, because boy howdy do I have some additional thoughts to get out of my brain

Okay so yes, Doflamingo would be the OG Iteration of Bokuohn, the puppeteer who manipulates people. But in the context of Cross Guild... That's Buggy. "Bokuohn is in control of the majority of the Seven Heroes' forces. Situated in the Steppes region, he owns a large landship, complete with an innumerable amount of slaves." That's literally just Buggy. Like he's not a master of psychological manipulation nor can he forcefully manipulate anybody like literal puppets either (the way Mingo could), but. Like scratch out he RoSa2 terms, replace them with the relevant OP terms and it's a perfect description of Buggy.

Bringing that up because I'm still interested in Cross Guild becoming Shichibukai 2.0 But Without The Government This Time, but if we wanted to have exactly seven former Shichibukai to make up Cross Guild and make sure we had like ones who could actually fill out the roles of the Seven Heroes from RoSa2... Yeah there's going to have to be some replacements Not just because otherwise Doflamingo would need to be broken out of Impel Down somehow (which I doubt will happen, also I don't think Crocodile would want him working for him anyways), but also. Jinbei's with the Strawhats. And I don't think he's ditching Luffy any time soon for Crocodile of all people, not when he finally fucking joined the Strawhats for realsies.

So Doflamingo could be replaced with Buggy, cool, sure. What about Jinbei then? Who will take up the role of RoSa2's Subier?

So a while back I wrote this speculation post about if the Burn Scar Man (who has the final Road Poneglyph) could be a Fishman.(PERHAPS specifically Davy Jones?) Bringing that up because during Kuma's flashback we did learn that Kuma got the Shichibukai Slot after Ace defeated one of the seven at the time. And we specifically got to see Ace talk to Jinbei about it, Ace being surprised Jinbei of all people was glad the Shichibukai slot was being filled again. Now obviously, our Firefist Ace defeating a Shichibukai makes for one great candidate on who the Burn Scar Man could be, as Ace could very easily leave someone with some severe burn scars. This is platantly obvious lmao. But it's the conversation with Jinbei that actually interests me, because like. Sure, Jinbei being a fellow Shichibukai, it might be odd for Ace to hear Jinbei be glad that one of his fellow Warlords is being replaced. But that comment could make twice as much sense if that Warlord had ALSO been a fellow Fishman and/or a Merman (and perhaps someone Jinbei might've known better?). Now indeed. We are going to meet the Burn Scar Man eventually, 100%, it's mandatory for the plot to move forwards. Which means we're going to find out who that guy is, and if the Road Poneglyph gets stolen from him, he might have to find something else to do with his life since there won't be any point in guarding it anymore. And hey. If Mr Burns does turn out to be a fellow former Shichibukai who also happens to be a Fishman/Merman and a master of Fishman Karate... Oh hey, what's this? "Subier - A half octopus merman who controls the flow of the ocean to use as a weapon." Like. IDK I think we could have another Cross Guild member on our hands here.

(Honestly, currently the only problem we have is Dantarg, whose role currently being held by Kuma. Like the only other known Shichibukai we have who could be "available" is Law but he hasn't really done any "bodymods to become stronger" and thus doesn't fit the description. Hell, that description fits Kid more than anything but he was never a Shichibukai either. Guess we gotta keep on hoping Kuma somehow survives and just doesn't return to the Revolutionary Army for some reason)

Hilariously the most interesting thing you pointed out was that comment in the forum thread about Moria, 'cause I hadn't even realized this before but

So we know Blackbeard had captured Moria and held him hostage for... weeks, months? Until he was freed by Coby as per Perona's plea during the raid on Fullalead. Interestingly though, although theoretically we know Moria and Perona should have escaped the island by now, we have not seen either, now have we? Which is kind of suspicious now that I think about it. Because like. It'd make perfect sense if Blackbeard and co had been torturing Moria during his time in captivity, right. Have they been feeding my beloved goth onion well? Realistically, probably not?

Like. Thinking about it. We know Moria got chumby after the trauma of losing his crew and all, so what are the odds he might have lost that weight now during his captivity??? What if he looks more like his younger self again, the one see clash with Kaidou??? Or, the more horrifying option. I mean zombies aren't like an inherent part of Moria's DF abilities, just the Shadow Manipulation. But for all we know Moria could have lost a limb or two, and depending on where the fuck Hogback is (dude is supposed to be a competent doctor, he should be able to stitch Moria back up)... I mean theoretically the next time we see Moria he could look like one of his zombies. Or worse.

Jeremy's first day - er, first night - on his very first job, fresh out of high school, after months of searching for any open positions in their tiny little town... You'd think he'd be excited, just as his whole - considerably large - family was to have one of their boys taking his first steps out into the real world. Instead, he was anxious, Michael's nervous energy rubbing off on him.

The boys were both cooped up in Jeremy's little house - a property that his parents were taking care of the bills for until he got his first couple paychecks and could support himself on his own. Their family wasn't wealthy by any means, but they could handle the extra expenses to get him out of the house and give him some independence - at least they could pass his room on to one of the little ones. God knows they needed it, with how many of them were always running around. He loved them all to death, of course, but the peace and quiet was definitely very welcome, and his little orange kitty, Tansy, (short for Tangerine,) definitely appreciated not having to avoid being trampled by the frequent child stampedes.

Michael had been fussing over Jeremy all evening, seemingly doing everything in his power to make him late - not deliberately, obviously, he had his own reasons to be worried - but Jeremy had to make it to work. He had to make a good impression. This was his first chance to prove that he could be a proper, independent adult, and it could be months until he got another one if he lost this job.

"Mikey, I gotta go," he huffed, having finally managed to get enough privacy to change into his uniform - he genuinely had to place a hand on the top of the other boy's head and push him away to get enough space to clip his new badge to his shirt. "I know you don't like it, and I'm sorry, but I gotta pay the bills. I'll only be out six hours, you won't even know I'm gone. Just stay here and take care o' Tansy. She ain't used to bein' home alone."

Just a little over twenty minutes later, he arrived in his new office, Afton boy in tow. He'd known trying to get him to stay at home was a lost cause from the very start, and had finally allowed Michael to come along and keep an eye on him, only if he promised not to interfere with Jeremy's work whatsoever. Jeremy had even grabbed his Walkman - pretty much the only present he got on his 18th birthday due to the price - to help keep Mike entertained during his shift.

Tossing the little floor cushion he'd snagged from one of the kid's areas into a corner of the office, along with a little workbook he'd found on his desk, he dropped down into his own spinny chair and gestured for Michael to sit. "'Kay, you know the drill. You got what you wanted - sit there and stare at the back o' my head or just fuck around for the next six hours, but you do not get to complain about bein' bored. This was your decision. Got it?" His words sounded stern, but his voice wasn't. He wasn't mad at Michael, he could never be, he was just stressed about the job in general, and the atmosphere of the restaurant wasn't exactly doing his mood any favors.

While he was sitting there, still fixing Michael with what he thought was a firm glare but was likely more of a set of heart eyes, because God knows he wasn't really capable of much else when it came to that boy, the phone behind him rang, nearly startling him straight out of his chair. "Oh, um-- Hello?" he answered, frantically smacking the button to put the phone on speaker so he didn't have to fumble with the handset. It wasn't like it mattered, though, as his voice was quickly drowned out by the voice of - what he assumed to be - one of his superiors.

"Uh, hello? Hello, hello? Uh, hello and welcome to your new summer job at the new and improved Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Uh, I'm here to talk you through some of the things you can expect to see during your first week here-" the man rambled, on and on, and Jeremy glanced back at Michael with wide eyes -- how was he supposed to remember all of this? He did his best to pay attention, but his worry quickly began to get the best of him, especially as his 'mentor' began to mention the animatronics moving around -- a... Music box? Flipping through the cameras on his monitor, he began to realize that Michael had been right and he was in way over his head.

Taking in a deep breath and shutting his eyes, he turned his attention back to the call. He needed to know what he was doing. "You see, there may be a minor glitch in the system, something about the robots seeing you as an endoskeleton without its costume on, and wanting to stuff you in a suit, so hey, we've given you an empty Freddy Fazbear head, problem solved! You can put it on anytime, and leave it on for as long as you want. Eventually anything that wandered in, will wander back out." Glancing to his left - the man was right, there was a massive bear mask resting on a box next to him. Just one. He hit the mute button on the telephone.

"Shit, Mike, we gotta --" he picked up the head, holding it out in the other man's direction. "You were right, 'm sorry, this was a fuckin' mistake and a half, you need one of these, I gotta-" Tossing the head back onto the box, he glanced at his monitor, checking the meter for the music box - not winding down just yet. Up out of his chair, over to the corner of the room where all the other boxes were piled, he started digging through them. "Here - here's one," he said, finding some bright red artificial fur and grasping for it, heaving it out of the box despite all the other dusty parts stacked on top of it. When he pulled it out, he was staring it dead in the empty eyes - not a bear, more dog-like... A fox? Maybe there was a fox. He couldn't remember, he never paid all that much attention to the freaky robot animals.

He was back over to Mike in the corner as quickly as he could be without tripping over his own feet. "Here -- take it, please. I dunno what'n the fuck is goin' on, but these're s'posed to keep us safe, so please just--" He practically shoved the mask into Mike's lap before rushing back to his desk, not noticing his own accent slip or the other boy's hesitation in his own rush to make sure nothing had moved.

So while talking and thinking about things with the X-Books, I have thought about what Pietro would think when he heard his father was dead. And honestly, he would be sad. He shed tears and felt angry and all the emotions that come with losing a relative. Even if he didn't like and sometimes hated his father, it still hit him.
