The TF 141 Compatibility Love Report
For: @stuffireadandenjoy
Disclaimer:
This is based on my personal opinion and interpretation of you and the character. the user makes no claims to be a real doctor or any medical professional. All court requests will be responded to by a hired mariachi band singing a beautiful rendition of N.W.A's 'Fuck Tha Police' (please don't sue me :^)
The Doc says your TF 141 Perfect Match is…
Tumblr media
Kate 'Watcher-1' Laswell!
Romance: I didn't just choose Kate because she's perfect for you, but because YOU are perfect for HER! She's patient and mature, the perfect partner to truly appreciate the complexities of your brain!
Kate is often used to maintaining order and polite distance from others in order to come out on top when shit hits the fan. In a partnership with her, you'd both get to be free to be messes with each other. The way you'd lean on the other is all trust and the desire to grant the other just a lil more sweetness.
Kate holds her cards close to her chest and her love for her people even closer. She'd be the type to tease you about the thing that's (rightfully) working you up and will think about how she can make everything right in your world. God help the person who makes you frown because she may not look like it but she takes her grudges to the next level.
Kate isn't showy, she's the definition of fortitude though. She'll thumb her fingers across your cheek and remind you to take a break. She's watching to make sure you haven't forgotten to eat and surprise you with an intimate staycation where it's just you two against the world.
You would be the only one in her life to convince her to make an ass of herself and just do silly things just for the hell of it! She'd never get tired of seeing that look in your eyes when you make her sit down for a Jurassic Park marathon (she'll never admit to enjoying them lest you tease her about it!) Romance with Kate is holding hands at the bookstore, kisses beneath awnings when you're soaked to the bone from the rain, shared bubble baths where you take turns reading poetry.
Sex: Passion, passion, passion! Kate wants every time to feel like magic on fire. She's attentive and watchful (ha get it?) she wants to know every nerve in your body and which one makes your breath hitch when she kisses it.
Kate is not afraid to be demanding and after some time and utter devotion she'd be more than happy to trust you with taking the wheel on things. On the days she's completely spent and unable to communicate the weight on her shoulders making you feel good is what centers her every time.
Possible points of Contention:
Long working hours and extra secretive :(
So incredibly stubborn (can be bribed with kisses)
fighting over closet space she needs room for her loafers
Your Poly Pairing (haha) is….
Tumblr media Tumblr media
KateGaz- Both are intellects of the highest degree and unbelievably good in the moral sense. Being with them would be the most electric experience as they make an effort to always communicate and be present. Kate would be a buffer for Gaz's more petty side during game nights and Gaz will whisper what cards Kate's holding when he's inevitably kicked out of the game. If you like your partners to be loving, affectionate and perceptive of your needs, this poly pairing is perfect for you!!

What is Fate/Stay Night?
Fate/Stay Night is a visual novel that came out in 2004. It features three routes: Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, and Heaven's Feel. It is also the first installment of the Fate serie.
If you are familiar with that serie (and if you follow me I think I can safely bet you do,) it's the one game all the other games keep referencing.
If you are not familiar with that serie, it's the game this blonde anime chick you can see everywhere since 2005 is from.
Tumblr media
Oooh nifty. What's it about?
The story follows SHIROU EMIYA, a perfectly ordinary teenager with small magic abilities, as he gets dragged in a mage battle royale where the winner gets to fulfill one of their wish. During that battle royale, mages are aided by Heroic Spirits, aka historical and/or mythological figures as summons to fight. As you can imagine, the question of what makes a hero? is a major one in the story, along with What makes a villain? What makes a victim? How does one uphold their ideals?
Cool. Should I play it?
Well that depends on what you're looking for in a story, but if you enjoy strong thematic writing, balls to the wall concepts, and commitment to any worldbuilding implications (be they really silly or deeply horrifying) then yeah you should def go for it! Also, as a visual novel, it is extremely well-made and it fucks with the medium in ways I have rarely seen before.
I'm already familiar with other Fate games and I know the tl;dr of the plot. Do I really need to play it?
Yeah you should!! As I said in the intro, every Fate entry out there references fsn in some way, be in directly by making references to plot elements, or indirectly by echoing and building on its themes. Trust me no amount of knowing what would happen could have prepared me from actually reading it.
Isn't it a porn game?
The original is an eroge, yes, so it did contain sex scenes. The remake, Fate/Stay Night: Realta Nua, replaced the sex scenes with sfw ones. I can give you my personal opinion on which version of these scenes is best if you need me but really it's up to you as to which one you'd rather read.
I tried playing the game a while back but I thought the protag was a cunt.
Yeah I getcha the first route is a bit clumsy by today's standards and it's easy to read the protagonist as a bitchy chauvinist at first. Still he gets better (and in fact never acts even remotely like that in the other routes) so I would ask you to grind your teeth and keep going.
"The first route"? Is there an order to the routes?
There is! In the original game you had to go Fate route -> UBW route -> HF route. Iirc you can play them in any order in the remake, but I strongly advise you to play these routes in this order regardless, because they were very much built with the assumption that this is the way you'd experience things. (A very basic exemple is that the Fate route has a lot more explanations on the worldbuilding and the rules of the battle royales, while the other routes assume you already know this shit and ellipses it up.)
Ohhh. Ok I'm kinda interested. Where can I play it?
Well funny story! This game is like, the ONE fate game that never got any official release in the West whatsoever! So you're gonna have to go with fantranslations. You can play the sfw remake over here, or you can download the og eroge over there.
I'm gonna be real with you bestie I am not committing to a 70 hours-long vn when I don't even know if I'll like it.
Understandable! Perhaps you'd be interested in the anime adaptation of one of the routes then? I'm told the Unlimited Blade Works anime is a good introduction to the Fate serie, its vibes, and therefore whether it might be your thing or not. That being said disclaimer that I have not watched it (<- not an anime watcher) so I can't personally back it up.
Hey why are there like twenty versions of that blonde anime chick
That would require me to make a separate 2k long post king.
Anyways.

--------------
Wilbur rarely ever found himself in situations where he would be pressured by his peers into anything. He was a wanderer who enjoyed his quiet time on the edge of situations, a watcher. A hawk--or at least you called him a hawk. He liked to observe, note everyone's behavior. From their body language, to the tone of voice they would use, to how they use words--he noticed it all, and he noted it all as well.
But when it came to people's intentions, he was alot worse at being as aware as he is with other things. It wouldn't be the first time he'd get peer pressured into something without realizing he was being pressured in the first place. He wouldn't be able to tell someone had malicious intent, especially if they held a smile, like most shit people do.
So all in all, when Wilbur told you a group of boys from another team had asked him to hang out with them, you were a smidge worried. Wilbur didn't clarify who these boys were, but he seemed excited when he told you so you smiled and uttered a small "That's awesome, bee!" and told him to go have fun.
This wasn't fun.
Well, it wouldn't be for you.
But for Wilbur? He was being accepted into another group, he was more a part of his peer group, of his school--or this is what he felt. He wasn't sure.
"Come on, William! Loosen up!" One of the boys, by the name of Dan, smirks as he lifts the beer up and towards Wil's direction. He tries to hide the grimace building up on his face as he looks at the beer and decides to take it in his hand. He pops the tab and takes a sip, groaning after he swallows it. Its disgusting, that's what conclusion Wilbur has come to. He can't tell if it tastes like nasty rust water or stale piss. Either way, it's fucking disgusting.
"That's- god, that's gross," Wilbur shakes his head as he grimaces, nearly gagging at the aftertaste and memory of it.
"Cheap bear is gross," Another student in this group speaks, a girl this time. The one Wilbur noticed you always had a distaste for, the one that made you insecure. He feels like he remembers hearing something about this girl, May. Maybe about her liking him? He wasn't sure what but what he was sure of? This girl couldn't like him. Not a chance.
"That's a fucking understatement," Wilbur giggles slightly before hiccuping.
"So, William-"
"You can just call me Wil, that's fine."
"Okay, Wil- how's it in the loser group?" Yet another student, there's only about five besides Wilbur, but too many for Wilbur's tipsy mind to make note of at once. The boy's name he seems to remember being Sammy, which he feels doesn't fit him. Chad or Brian would fit the bill and he has to hold back giggles at that thought.
"Loser group?" Wilbur asks almost incredulously, eyebrows knitted in a confused expression.
"Yeah, what's it called- Team Andromeda?" The one with the teacher's pets, those gay kids- everyone knows Andromeda is where the weirdos get placed, y'know?" Something about Sammy's voice started to grind his gears, but his mind was so muddled he couldn't get very angry, so he sighed.
When Sammy mentioned the "gay" kids, it really rattled him. It made his blood boil, he wanted to yell and punch and scream at this kid. But he had to restrain himself, these other guys weren't so bad.
"I don't think they're that bad, I'm on Andromeda." Wilbur shrugs, looking down at the can he holds, trying to keep himself composed and for the most part--it works.
"Well, you aren't one of them. You don't fit there." May pipes in, a sickeningly sweet smile on her face. If it wasn't for how.. icky the conversation made Wilbur felt, the smile would be soft and sweet in his eyes. But his nauseated stomach at the words that cross his ears, skews his view of the word with green tinted glasses.
"Come on, let's not dwell on those kids-- just drink, have fun! Let loose!" Another kid, Dean, speaks up. He feels a lot less.. venomous. He seems kinder and as if he doesn't hold the same hurtful opinions as the others do.
"Why don't we do truth or dare?" Sammy smirks from behind his beer can, eyes glistening with mischief and the mere look makes Wilbur want to projectile vomit, but maybe that's because he's nearly finished off his own beer. Stale piss water.
Wilbur shrugged as various confirmations of agreements are muttered, a few 'sure's and a couple 'alright's were scattered between.
"How about…" Sammy eyes the group and when his attention lands on Wilbur, he smirks, "You, Wil- truth or dare?"
Something sunk into Wilbur's stomach, it felt like all of his internal organs--but it was probably just his heart. This didn't sit right with him, maybe he was being targeted? But his mind was so fogged and swimmy from the alcohol--his beer can was empty and he'd started on a new one. His logic flew out the window long ago.
"Uhm…" Wilbur takes a moment to think or rather, he pauses and looks down, his mind a blank slate without a scratch written. He lifts his head, tilting it to the side for a moment before he slurs confidently, "Dare."
Sammy nods as he eyes Wilbur up and down before he speaks again, much clearer than any words Wilbur could possibly dream to muster, "I dare you…" He trails off as his eyes glance over at May, who was sitting beside Wilbur, "To kiss May."
Wilbur knew it was coming before the words had even been spoken. God, he wished he could erase the entirety of eighth grade from history right about now. He then turned to face May, her cheeks flush pink as she tugs on his sleeve. Everything in his heart was screaming for him to stop, to run away and get as far from this situation that he could. To find you and wrap you in his arms and kiss all over your face and apologize for everything he could've possibly ever done--but his logic is out the window and god-- his body feels like quicksand and he can barely move.
It happens so quickly he doesn't know how it even starts, or who initiated what. But now his lips are on hers and they're kissing and it's much too deep for his liking. He should be kissing you, under lamplight in the dorm, sighs and giggles muffled between lips and mouths. Hands exploring each other innocently and with that sweet spark of love.
Yet instead, here he is with his hand behind May's head, his lips intertwined with hers and her tongue in his mouth. This is horrible, he's decided. He's vowed to never drink again, and never touch lips with anyone but you. But he doesn't stop, he doesn't pull away. He's enticed, he's enraptured by it. Its new, but old. He's kissed her before, not like this of course. But he has kissed May, years ago. This now feels foreign and exciting and new.
That guilt crawls up him, makes him sick and he finally pulls away. His lips curled in a grimace, when May's curl into a smile. His face has a green tint, and hers has a pink sheet of color. They mirror each other in completely opposite ways. She kissed him because she wanted to.
He kissed her because he felt trapped.
It wasn't more than an hour longer that he hung out with them, it got late and there were enough sightings of leadership staff to scare all of them back to the dorms. Which by enough, was two. And they were leaving work. Either way, Wilbur found his way to the side door of the dorm building. The front is always open but Wilbur felt that it was too obvious and he was much too drunk to risk getting caught so he walked over to the side door, hunkered down and texted you.
wilb<3 2:45am // by sidef dooorr, pls get me
you 2:46am // wtf are u doing there??
you 2:46am // be down in a sec, hang tight
He shut his phone off and tucked it in his pocket after smiling at his messages. He leaned against the outer wall and slunk down to the ground. His mind felt like sludge, his body felt like bags of rocks were weighing him down and the way his eyelids kept slipping shut wasn't helping either.
A moment later and his shoulder was being shook by you, eyes shooting open only to glance at your worried expression. Concern plastered on your face and all your eyes saw was a mess of the boy you loved. Face tinted green with splotches of red, eyes glazed over and somehow-- lip gloss on his lips? Its messy and it looks like--
Your heart sinks. He kissed her. Or maybe, she kissed him, he couldn't hurt you like that. Even drunk, he had a heart and logical thinking.
Words weren't spoken as you help him to his feet, practically dragging him to the elevator that no one actually uses but comes in handy now. Your boyfriend's arm slung over your shoulders and his lips messily kissing the side of your hair as his words slur.
"Love you sooo much, baby-" It hurts to hear it, to hear the promises of love as he's so desperately drunk. The elevator is slow so as you hold him beside you, you keep yourself from snapping. Maybe a little prying won't hurt, will it?
"So, what happened?" Your voice is low and soft, a mere whisper as the elevator dings, signifying being on the second floor. Another two to go.
"Mm- Nothin' jus' truth or dare-" He slurs, leaning against you.
"So you didn't kiss May, then?"
Something flips in him, some sort of mild regulator switch flips and he clears his throat. Now leaning away from you as he looks around the elevator, somehow a bit more sober as he speaks, "And if I did?"
"I'd worry about you. I am worried about you."
Ding, third floor. Almost there.
"Its not like it matters, so what if I kissed a girl?" He snips, tone sharp and quick as he fully leans off you, standing on his own almost as if he hadn't a drop of alcohol. You knew that wasn't true, and you hoped he was shit faced drunk when it happened. You knew it happened.
"You'd be cheating if you had. It isn't right, okay?" Your voice is so even, clear and regulated. You keep your composure and his only cracks more.
"Just forget about it, nothing happened. Just leave it the fuck alone." He huffs slightly as the elevator dings and the doors slide open, you both step out and you lead him over to the bathroom to help him clean up just a bit.
It didn't last long when he pulled out of your grasp, "Why don't you just leave me alone and stop prying? Jesus- May was right." He mutters the last part as he stares daggers into you, and you move to walk beside him as he finds his way by your dorm room.
"Can you just tell me what the fuck is wrong?" You're breaking, cracking at the seams more and more as every word of his slips past his lips. Enraging you with every syllable.
And now, with his snarl and angered stare, you felt like an afterthought at that moment, and you wondered if that was his goal. Snapping at you, disregarding your concerns and feelings you were bringing to him. Suits you to argue with a drunk guy.
"You're too fucking obsessed with me anyways-- You're always hanging off me like some desperate lost puppy. I swear- It'd be better if you just left me alone." He rolls his eyes as he stumbles into the dorm, despite his louder than proper reaction, no one stirs or makes any noticeable action.
"I'm obsessed with you and she's not?" Your eyebrows knit in confusion as your lips curl into a frown, frustration boiling up inside you, soon to turn to anger.
He leans against the doorframe, rolling his eyes in a dramatic and drunk way as he huffs, "Yes, yes you are. At least she respects my boundaries," He shrugs as he steps back into the dorm and you feel tears prick at your eyes, frozen in place and boiling with anger, the frustration completely gone. Now you're just hurt.
"She manipulated you and forced you to go out with her and her asshole friends! You want to know something? Those guys you just spent two hours with and had so much fucking fun with? Fucking bullied me since middle school!" You step back, so close to walking away but you need this last word, just something to make him realize, "But you wouldn't know that, would you? You're too in your head to know anything about me!" It seems unrelated, and to him it was. But to you, his words were the last straw. You were done.
"Bullied you? I never took you for the delusional kind."
If it was possible, your jaw would be dislocated and on the floor, but instead you drew your lips into a thin line and let the tears ricochet.
"Fine- Y'know what? Go date May instead- get back with her, see what happens, huh?" Your blood boils as you speak through hot tears and you feel regret surging through you as you shut the door for him, turning on your heel and down the hall. It's a night to sneak into your dad's dorm.
He doesn't wake as you carefully creak the door open, tiptoeing in and finding a spot in the chair in the corner. Not caring or bothering with pillows or blankets, it isn't like you'll be getting much sleep.
Your eyes locked on the walls of the dark room, your mind replaying the last ten minutes like a broken record. You couldn't escape it, the guilt, the fear, the hurt. Your tears were silent but they had no plan of stopping as they fell down your face in clumps of salty water. Your throat felt like it was going to shut, sore and aching as you held back sobs. Your heart felt the same, yet instead of being shut off, it ached like it had been ripped into and at this point, it might as well have been.
Maybe he was right, maybe you were too clingy and 'obsessed' with him. Maybe you did spend too much time around him or too much of your breath speaking about him. All of the maybes ran through your mind like a pack of ants fleeing from the rain. It wouldn't be long until you were full on sobbing and so you did your best to hide your whimpers and breaths of heartache with the sleeves of your sweater--Wilbur's sweater.
You heard a creaking of a bunk, one of the three levels that were in the dorm, you weren't sure which but you still froze in place as a response. You hoped someone was just readjusting but as the lamp beside the bottom bunk clicked on, you realized someone was awake. You knew it was Andy even before you lifted your head to see him. Out of him, your dad and Evan, he was the lightest sleeper. So he'd most likely have been awake since the fight, you knew this but you only hoped that he would turn the other way and ignore it, let you wallow in your heartache.
"Kiddo?" He spoke softly, voice cracking with sleep as he patted the spot beside him on the edge of the bed. You simply eyed his hand, making no move to sit beside him, to get up out of the hole you've fallen into.
He gave you that look, that look only a dad would give you. The one that says "Tell me what's hurting, kid, please?" It's so unspoken, no words being muttered but every meaning and intention still finding it's way into the air and floating around like dust particles--unseen in darkness but when light shines, it's clear as day.
"Wilbur." You mutter it out, voice breaking at the end as another silent sob breaks through and he moves to stand, walking over to you and kneeling in front of you, hands on either side of your legs.
"What did he do?" Andy tilts his head to the side as he looks up at you with worry and concern splattered all over his face.
"He got drunk with those- with May and her friends," You paused as you sucked in a shallow breath, doing your best to calm yourself.
"And?" He prys, but you don't mind. He's just trying to scrape at the layers you've wrapped around your heart and mind, the layers that hide the truth beneath. He's doing a damn good job too.
"He yelled at me, I know he kissed May and- he's so mad at me, Andy. So mad." You know you sound like a broken child, a kid left behind on the playground. You can't help it, it's how you feel. You love Wilbur, you loved him. You gave him your heart and he discarded it in a ditch.
"I heard- I'll set up the trundle, you sleep in my bed, okay? Tomorrow is Saturday so I want you to take some breaths-" He starts instructing you to breathe in deeply and to let it out. He does this with you for a few more seconds until all the tears you have left have dried and you feel a tingling feeling of peace. As much as you can muster. And he smiles, patting your knee and turning around to do as he said he would, setting up the trundle, and then he ushers you over and you settle into the bottom bunk.
"We'll deal with this tomorrow, okay? We'll talk with your dad and Evan, and Cati too. Just rest now, kiddo." He smiles softly before settling into the trundle below and you let your eyes slip shut, welcoming sleep with open arms.
Your last thought before you drifted off, was hope you didn’t have to see Wilbur the next day.

UFO No More has a very detailed explanation about how they count the items and the criteria but some people don't know how to read and then go and talk shit like RFP or any other Twitter Keyboard warrior. I would suggest everybody to read the disclaimer lmao.
I really felt for UFO when they published the lists of the costs because I think they took a bigger beating this year than previous… it’s fun that there are new royal watchers but some of them my god. And not all of them follows the fashion side but read, then speak! And those that claimed that there was no way Kate had a more expensive wardrobe than Letizia sjkjssss
Oh I'm definitely gonna rant about it on this saturday's radio show lmao but honestly yes, they're so focused on this nonsensical battle they have in their own heads to actually sit and read the disclaimers. And you have people like RFP who not only go around talking about things she doesn't understand but also target people to feed her own narrative (like she did with Isa) that literally is so cringe to see. SO CRINGE.
But any ways, thank god for people like you with actual brains.

EXPLAIN BOOK YENNEFER because I'd like to know her before I say anything krmsksms I watched the show but like. quit immediately after her transformation for some Reasons
LMAO FAIR. THE SHOW SUCKS. SAYING THIS AS AN AVID WATCHER OF IT. OK SO DISCLAIMER IT'S BEEN SEVERAL YEARS SINCE I READ THE BOOKS AND I KIND OF DON'T REMEMBER SHIT ANYWAY
she's so interesting like. ok so you got the basic bit of her backstory she wanted the power of being a sorceress but they make sorceresses look beautiful and what they don't tell them is that they'll get a forced hysterectomy. right so they didn't ask she wasn't told and she's like. pissed about it. unfortunately sort of ends up as the "woman can't have children and is so upset about it trope" but she's not too much "I'm a monster because I can't have kids" she's just like. angry about her bodily functions being taken away without her consent. so most of the series is either geralt or ciri's pov so you don't really get much with yennefer's backstory other than some hints but eventually geralt decides to have yen help teach ciri magic and overtime she becomes ciri's surrogate mother but she doesn't become super nurturing and out of character all of a sudden or anything they just love each other very much. ciri and yen is actually very much the "grumpy adult becomes the begrudging parental figure to a young child" trope (if you're thinking "shouldn't that be geralt?" the answer is no. geralt is such a nice person in the books. the show got it so wrong. like he still has emotional issues and shit but they manifest differently. yen is the one more closed off) anyway idk she is just everything 2 me like she's a woman who was mistreated horribly so she obviously went for power and she doesn't regret the power but she is still angry that something was taken from her and then she gets to be the surrogate mother to this young girl and teach her magic and she's so emotionally closed off but UGHHHGJ. and with geralt too like there's a scene where geralt is thinking about how he loves her and she reads his mind (she can read minds) and tells him (indirectly I think, I can't remember) that she loves him too and it's a rare moment of vulnerability for BOTH of them bc even though geralt is nice he isn't really vulnerable and they're both people who've been through some strange bodily transformations without full consent and it's left them unhappy with themselves for various reasons and they don't know how to love right but they're trying to love anyway and they're learning to love people again through the girl they're parenting it's just so UAGDJFJSKNDKSKAS. I CAN'T EXPLAIN IT. YENNEFER OF VENGERBERG MY BELOVED

What about Jensen body language before the fallout though? I'm a new fan, pls tell me more?
Alright, disclaimer: I'm not a scientifically accurate watcher of cons, I barely watch con videos because i have the attention span of a fungus, i have auditory processing issues+I'm not a native english speaker so i understand shit of what they say without transcripts or subtitles, but i do exist on tumblr and have seen snippets, gifsets, and I did watch an entire (or at least a good part of it, idk) j2 panel once for some reason I don't remember rn, and that was really the time where I got stuck with the most clarity of how wildly different Jensen's body language in j2 panels was to other panels that i'm more familiar with because we gif them more or simply talk about them more.
I don't want to sound like I Know(TM) Jensen or have special access to his mind, so please keep in mind that this is basically my theory based on how I perceive the little I see of him, but this said - my impression is that Jensen was uncomfortable in Sunday j2 panels, long before the post-finale fallout with Jared. Jensen and Jared usually stand up in front of the audience and answer questions, and Jensen looks stiff and, well, like he's not enjoying himself. I'm used to seeing a million snippets and gifs and pictures of him in panels with Misha or others, and he's relaxed and cheerful. When asked questions in the j2 panel sometimes he looks downright defensive.
Oh, right *facepalm* I just remembered that I watched that j2 panel because someone asked Jensen a Destiel-related question (with the word Destiel in it) and Jensen basically snapped and shut the question down and it was uncomfortable to watch because he was obviously not comfortable with the entire thing. The audience in j2 panels is NOT a Destiel-friendly audience in general. (Of course there's going to be exceptions in the crowd but as a crowd, the alignment is not pro-Destiel, alright?) While the audience in Cockles panels is obviously a pro-Cas, pro-Destiel crowd. Pick some Jibcon videos, j2 panel and Cockles panel from the same jibcon if you want, and compare the atmosphere and body language of the two. I think you'll notice a difference.
Now, Jensen is not comfortable with interacting with fans like this, in general. His solo panels can get uncomfortable for him at times (at least once that I remember Misha went to support him during a solo panel because he was clearly nervous). His levels of comfort obviously depend on whether someone is with him, and who, and also on the audience he's facing. Again, the audience of a j2 panel is not the same audience in a Cockles panel. I think the difference in Jensen's comfort levels comes both from whom he is with, and the crowd.
I'm aware I'm not saying anything substantial but... just have a look at old panels. Compare j2 panels and non-j2 panels. I think that the difference is pretty noticeable. I'm not surprised at all that j2 panels spew drama and negativity because that's the norm. Now this is my theory but I'm pretty sure that Jensen needs to go with the wishes of the crowd (that's what he's paid for, entertaining his audience, right?) and he doesn't like it when it's a j2 crowd.
Take all of this with a fuckton of grains of salt because I don't have a magical access to Jensen Ackles' brain but... I don't think the guy's ever been particularly relaxed and happy in j2 panels, because j2 panels lean Jared fans/J2 fans/brothers-only fans, and they're basically Jared's kingdom, not his. He's comfy when he has a pro-Misha crowd in front of him.
As an old fan the J2 fallout is coming like the least surprising thing ever because Jensen might have played along the marketing strategy ~the amazing J2, brothers in the story and in real life!!~ thing all this time because it was literally his job, but I think that he's grown apart from the Jared side of things a long time ago and has been personally feeling a lot closer to the Misha side of things. By side of things I mean both the person and the fandom that aggregates around the person.
The difference now is that he seems less inclined to keep up the ~brothers in real life!!~ act (look at the various 'oh my brother' tweets he's made recently, they sound so authentic and genuine like he put negative amounf of effort in sounding genuine), probably because a) the divide between him and Jared is getting wider, b) he literally doesn't work every single day of his life with the guy anymore, so he has no reason to avoid conflict that would destroy his daily life.
It's still his job to do j2 panels, so he'll do that job, but he'll also storm off when it's over. I ain't watching the panel video, but apparently Jared acted really inappropriately (getting involved in a question that wasn't for him and didn't have anything to do with him and derailing Jensen's answer bringing it into a direction Jensen wasn't going) and Jensen liked it even less that he usually likes doing a j2 panel. I'm not surprised. I think the finale just exacerbated things there.
I hope I answered your question!

Just say NO to Author Intrusion
Tumblr media
The Fourth Wall is the Audience. -- Every time the writer addresses their story's audience --their Readers-- they are violating the fourth dimension, or wall, of that story's Reality.
These violations are known as: Author Intrusions.
Author Intrusions show up as little comments that express the author's personal feelings on what's happening in their story, or heavily hint at things to come during the story.
Author Intrusions are a Bad Idea.
----------- DISCLAIMER: This is how I was taught to write for publication purposes by my professional editors. If you don't want to do it this way -- Don't. (Less competition for me.)
WHY Author Intrusions are a Bad Idea.
Author Intrusions jar the Reader out of the mental movie they've generated while reading because the Author keeps rudely shoving them out of the story to remind them that They know something the Reader doesn't.Compare it to watching a movie you haven't seen before with a friend that won't shut up about how cool the next scene is.
Tumblr media
See this shit? This is Author Intrusion.
Identifying Author Intrusions:
The most common form of Author Intrusion is when the writer plants overly-obvious hints of things to come addressed directly to the Reader.
Examples:
In hindsight, he would be thankful for his overreaction.
Unfortunately, his choices had truly never been his own.
If only they'd realized how wrong they were.
These are normally found at the end of a chapter, or book, but I've also seen them posted smack in the middle of a scene in progress. They had no idea what consequences their choice would bring.
I have been told that these particular intrusions are meant to be a form of Foreshadowing.
This shit is NOT Foreshadowing.
True Foreshadowing symbolically hints at things to come. It Does Not point-blank TELL the Reader that something is coming.
More on actual Foreshadowing: TV Tropes: Foreshadowing
I have also been told that this form of Author Intrusion is supposed to create suspense and entice the Reader to read the next installment.
This shit does NOT create Suspense either.
The truth is, this sort of cheap-assed teaser-spoiler Does Not add suspense because it entirely Removes the surprise factor of what is coming.
Suspense is about Anticipation. It's about waiting for 'the other shoe to fall'. When an author point-blank announces that there's another shoe, all that lovely anticipation is halved because the Reader now knows for a fact that this shoe WILL fall -- that something IS going to happen.
THINK: How can anyone be surprised if they're already expecting a surprise?
If you want to create Suspense, don't TELL the Reader outright that something is going to happen. Instead, SHOW IT by planting Clues; the butcher knife was missing from the kitchen drawer, and give Hints through ominous Sounds, creeping Shadows, character Body Language, and stilted Dialogue that something is going to happen.
Tumblr media
Authors: Keep Your Opinions to Yourself!
The next most common form of Author Intrusion happens when the writer just can't keep their personal comments about certain characters, or what's happening in their story to themselves.
This is particularly virulent in fan-fics written by new writers who get over-excited about what they're writing.
Cut that shit out!
Literally, cut all that shit Out of your work.
Us readers do not want anyone interrupting our stories with their opinions, feelings, or comments about the story we're reading. That includes comments from the Author. Save that crap for the Author Notes.
However...
Tumblr media
"Lines like those (in my fan fiction anyway) are actually meant as red flags; a sort of, "Hey, pay attention, I'm doing something over here!" This is because, in the...years I've been writing fan fiction, I've noticed that the majority of 'new readers' (i.e. those new to fan fiction,) will not pay attention [to what they're reading] and will inundate me with questions that are easily answered if they did. With lines like those thrown in, the questions are fewer and I don't have to waste time explaining things that don't need explanations." -- Annoyed FF Writer
While all that might sound like a good excuse -- it really Isn't.
When the author inserts comments about a character or situation happening right there in the middle of the story just to make it easier for lazy-assed readers to figure out what's going on, those comments are nothing more than Spoilers for the rest of us.
Spoiling the Story for Lazy-Assed Readers -- is a BAD IDEA.
While some readers love to be babied like that, the rest of us readers don't. The rest of us are paying close attention and we love ferreting out the author's little hints exposed by the plot's progression and character reveals. We are reading specifically to discover what the heck is going on.
Spoilers strip all the suspense and discovery --the most enjoyable parts of the story-- right out.
I don't know about you, but once all the surprises are gone from a story, I have no reason to keep reading that story.
Fixing Spoilers
If the Reader doesn't get what happened and the information to set them straight IS NOT actually present in the story, then yeah, the Writer messed up.
To fix this, they should REWRITE and REPOST the Relevant Chapter ASAP! NOT answer their reader's query with any comment beyond, "Oh crap! Let me fix that real quick!"
If the Reader doesn't get what happened and the information to set them straight IS actually present in the story, meaning; the Reader simply missed it the first time around, then the Reader messed up -- not the Writer.
When this happens, the Writer should answer their query by politely telling that reader to Read the Chapter Again a little more carefully. NOT by giving them Spoilers!
Seriously, professional authors don't cater to that crap, neither should fan-fic writers.
The only thing catering to lazy-assed readers does is encourage those readers to bug other writers for spoilers -- and us other writers don't appreciate it.
As for Breaking the Fourth wall...
Tumblr media
Or is he?
Deadpool: Not actually Breaking the Fourth Wall. He is Narrating his own story.
Yes, Deadpool does address his audience throughout his comic books and movies. In his comics he even comments on the textboxes around him.
Tumblr media
Deadpool also freely admits that he's not exactly Sane.
However, addressing his readers, or watchers, or even his text boxes doesn't change the fact that Deadpool is The Point of View Character in both his comics and his movies. He's the one telling the tale. He's expected to comment on everything and everyone around him because that's what POV Characters do.
Deadpool just happens to be narrating his story out loud to the voices, and text boxes, in his own head. That there happens to actually be an audience of readers and movie watchers is entirely incidental.
Now if Stan Lee; the main author of Marvel Comics, popped into Deadpool's story, that would be Author Intrusion--
Oh, wait... He did.
Tumblr media
A...tasteful example of Author Intrusion. AKA: The Cameo.
Narration is Not Author Intrusion
The Narrator is The Point of View Character observing --and commenting on-- their part of the tale. If done Right, what is narrated is colored by that POV Character's thoughts, opinions, and comments about what is happening around them.
Tumblr media
Breaking the 4th Wall? Nope, just 1st Person POV.
Narration is not Author Intrusion because the author isn't telling the story, the POV Character is.
Deadpool, in both the comics and in his movies, uses First Person Point of View Narration. First Person POV can look like the character is Breaking the Fourth Wall, but they really aren't because Narration is supposed to address the audience. Think in terms of diary entries, or in Deadpool's case, a massive Selfie Video.
The only time Narration should ever be colored by the author's opinions is in a Self-Insert story where the author is the POV character--
-- or in a Fairy Tale.
Tumblr media
Fairy Tales were originally told Orally. They were spoken and acted out by a storyteller directly to their audience. The storyteller's opinions of what was happening were part of the act, rather like the Master of Ceremony for a play. When these tales were eventually written down by collectors, such as the Brothers Grimm, they wrote them in the oral style --author intrusions included-- simply because that's how they were told to the collectors.
Later writers, like Hans Christian Anderson, wanted their tales to be labelled Fairy Tales, so they used this oral style specifically so their stories would blend in with the much older collected Grimm's stories.
However, if the story is not a Fairy Tale--
Tumblr media
Don't Interrupt Your Readers!
Written stories are viewed in the imagination like a movie. So when the author pops in a comment to make their personal opinions known, it throws the reader out of the movie they're watching in their imaginations because someone is talking to them.
"But the whole story is the author's opinion!"
That's right, a writers has their whole story to express their personal opinions, so there is absolutely No Need for the author to interrupt their readers with additional comments on anything at all during the story.
If a writer absolutely positively must comment on what's happening in their story, an Author Note is where that shit belongs --or their personal blog, or whatever social media floats their boat-- nowhere else.
Author Intrusions: -- If you're Not writing a Fairy Tale -- Don't Do It.
Unless you're Stan Lee. (He can intrude wherever he likes.)
