JOKE-OGRAPHY: 1. In this Bible story, Jesus & Friends are at a wedding feast, but the feast prematurely runs out of wine (maybe Jesus & Friends' fault; unclear). This is a super big deal. Jesus's mother, Mary (from the Bible), tells Jesus about the shortage, then gives the servants her last spoken line in the Bible: "Do whatever He tells you." Peak Mary. Jesus tells the servants to fill some stone washing jars with water, then He turns that water into a wine so fine that those who dine declare it divine. 2. In this cartoon, Thomas (from the Bible), goes to Mary (from the Bible) to question her Son's instructions. Jesus says He wants to turn some dirty old water into fine wine fit for a wedding? But isn't that strange? Almost as strange as Him wanting to turn us lowly humans into fine saints fit for the presence of God, perhaps?? An encounter which prophets, poets, and Jesus Himself (from the Bible) all describe as the ultimate wedding feast??!!!

Really funny to me how casually Dirty Pair treats violence. Like first episode there is a rogue AI ruining the city-tower with flooding and explosions and people running everywhere and we literally almost 9/11 the entire place, (which is to say they do totally crash an aircraft into it but it just doesn’t fall all the way over). Episode two DOES 9/11 some people by crashing a giant space liner into the top of multiple buildings after nearly blowing up with its occupants onboard. Episode 3’s opening scene a guy gets 009’d trying to steal some poker chip, which is special because? We don’t know it’s not really explained other than maybe it’s lucky? But this guy is not just normal killed he gets completely disintegrated with a Cobra Laser, and it’s all on CCTV and nobody bothered to stop him before he got that far?!? And then they end the episode by nuking the place with people barely escaping as well???? And the show’s attitude towards everything is “tehe perro”

did you watch the Shattered/Asylum Talkville episodes? 👀

Yes I did! I'm really sorry, I've been meaning to send you all my notes/highlights from the Shattered pod ep like I promised I would, but my last semester of grad school started like 2.5 weeks ago and I've just been massively overwhelmed since then. 😭

Tbh, you could probably watch the full Shattered pod if you wanted, it was a pretty good ep for Talkville standards. The biggest highlight was probably Michael saying that the moment where Lex sees Clark use his powers for the first time is his favorite Lex moment in the series (especially in terms of his own performance)—he's clearly really proud of this episode and I think that made the pod better in general. Also Lionel gets called an evil bastard a couple of times, Tom points out how we all feel bad for Lex by the end of the episode, and Al Gough calls the Clex relationship "the focal point of the series." Other stuff happens too ofc, but I'd say those were my top moments.

The Asylum pod was... less good, IMO—like, it wasn't bad I guess, but some stuff def left me feeling kinda frustrated, so I wouldn't really recommend that you watch that one askldfsk (I could probably skim through it again and collect some highlights from it if you want, though)

Ok so.

I wanted to drill some holes in mason jar lids so they could fit an airlock. But I was uncertain of whether the drill bits we already own would be able to handle the job. So my partner gave it a try. He tore up the the hole's edges, but proved that the drill bit could, technically, put a hole in the lid.

I tried it myself and managed to get a comparatively smooth hole! I gave it a few passes with a reaming pen to try to smooth out the edges. But I didn't want to do too much, lest it take off too much material.

The cut edges were still uncomfortably sharp, and the metal lid is thin enough that the silicone grommet doesn't make an airtight seal. So I also went around the edges with glue gun.

My hole is prettier than my partner's hole. Tighter, too.

Reaming my hole widened it.

So I rimmed it to ensure a snugger fit.
