so like a really long time ago i saw this video of anne rice talking about vampire creativity and she basically said that vampires can't make anything artistically valid, that that type of creativity is reserved for human beings and this ep really made me think about that bc these vampires really want to make things but then they get frustrated when what they make isn't good and they can't find what they're looking for in their work but what's missing is the humanity. louis can see things that human beings can't bc of his vampiric abilities but that doesn't automatically give him a leg up irt making art, his work is more documentation than capturing singular moments. and he's frustrated that he can't connect w his subjects and it furthers his feelings of alienation from humanity bc why can't he just do it? why can't he convey the things he's trying to w his photos? and then he covets human work bc the spark required to make it is unavailable to him

Major spoilers
So shady sands got nuked by a random vault dweller because his wife took their kids, and he wanted his kids, and he was mad his wife found a settlement when vault tec was supposed to be the ones settling the surface…he was mad the ncr “did vault Tec’s job before they could” so he blew…the fucking ncr’s main settlement up
I wonder if it’s like “oh yeah he was a protag of his own mind pretty much” kind of jab but even then it leaves a bad taste in my mouth? Because it is insane video game writing and it’s definitely insane bethesda video game writing, but it fucks up a very integral part of two major games
And I hate how much like…yeah the BoS is back to being technocratic and more cult like in the show but it’s also still praised kind of? And the random, and I mean RANDOM, nonbinary BoS member that’s there for like, 20 minutes was just…a waste. A nonbinary person that really does nothing but just be there and hurt themselves to forward the narrative of the cis het protag. Honestly they’re there to piss of the conservative gamers but I’m not conservative and I’m pissed shady sands and the ncr got did dirty like that so in the end every fallout fan is mad
Like…the ncr went from a huge mega power that is basically a country, to being blown up by a dude? And they don’t mention the hoover dam and how maybe they were weakened from the legion/ncr conflict…which would’ve made it believable. Nada. They just say it this guy blew up shady sands so I guess it happened. It’s canon.
They just made the ncr seem so small after fnv made it feel so big and menacing in its own way with hundreds of named npcs with stories and it was so gooooood and they made it feel like a shitty dinky settlement comparable to fucking…like…diamond city
Idk it’s like 5am and the final episode just pissed me off. They should’ve just set it in New York or Florida and made up new factions instead of establishing canon endings to the most favored game in the series. Or they could’ve done a prequel to fo4 if they wanted it to tie in the games so bad.
The ghoul also has the best scenes and story but I’m…idk the drugs suppressing the “feral” disease is also a weird thing. It’s new to the tv series and what only in la? What’s it made of that no one else makes? And why the fuck did he have to eat someone. I liked the scene because it was kinda just neat to watch in a way… but it’s like “oh he’s a ghoul so he eats people whoOoOo” They never really…explain…if he like…needs meat or something and idk. I dunno. And cold fusion? Like what. Wha…uh. I fucking hate the idea of power being harnessed from tiny object. It’s just a lame McGuffin they can pass around. I would rather it be like…they’re fighting over a wind farm to harness power and they need like a scientist/engineer to fix it. Something that feels big and really.
Anyway, I’m fine with watching it until I think about it, and then I don’t like the plot. So it feels like fo4 all over again but I’m more mad because I feel like it ruined fnv’s ending. Which sucks. So personally I do not see the show as canon but as like, fan fiction to like…maybe a independent/house/legion ending for fnv when the ncr is super week and some guy just bombs it…because he’s mad at his wife.
Big ooof, a 8/10 until episode 8 and then it’s a fat 2/10…one star for goggins making another badass ghoul in the series and one for the dog

Another Ohuhu vs Copic Post
I'm not the first to compare the two, and I won't be the last, but I have opinions and I love foisting them upon the void of the internet so here we are.
I have a mishmash of 16 copic grey tones and one pastel purple (BV11 Pale Violet), and the 96 Honolulu B Pastel set from Ohuhu, and even though I've only had these Ohuhus for a few hours, I can already tell you I have OPINIONS!
Let's get the obvious out of the way. The seventeen (17) copic markers I've acquired over the years cost more than the ninety six (96) set from Ohuhu. Lol. Lmao even. Everyone knows it, copics are Pricey and that's why everyones looking for an alternative. So yeah, I've been excited about ohuhu for a while! They're been a good competitor, even more so since they added brush tips and refillable markers! For real, while copics have been ridiculously priced, I've resigned myself to just buying a few here and there because it felt like a better investment in the long run. But now? I HAD TO KNOW! What are ohuhu markers like to USE?
Kind of nice, to be honest. They have next to NO smell, especially compared to the copics. Even my prismacolor markers are stinkier than the ohuhus. Love that. I'm not hotboxing myself out of my room every time I want to do a color. Amazing, no notes. Well, one note. I think the reason they aren't as stinky is because they aren't NEARLY as juicy as copics. Maybe it's the color set I got? I'd like to revisit this with a more bold color set to see, but the pastels feel almost Dry. So I wouldn't be surprised if the juiciness results in more stink. If that's the case, then yeah I'll go into the hot box.
The juiciness is probably also the reason ohuhu doesn't blend as easily. They still blend nicely, but the copics were SO smooth. Here's some blending I did with each set. The colors aren't compareable, because the copic colors I have go much darker than the ohuhu pastels, but the blending is the same.
Tumblr media
Ignore the one on the top lol that's when I decided I needed More Colors and got the Ohuhus. The bottom cloud is the copics (the brights are prismacolor markers that are not part of this because they're about 20 years old at this point and not alcohol based anyway). It was my first attempt at blending, but it was easy to get a nice gradient! The hardest part was choosing colors and that's on me!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are ohuhu clouds! I noticed the paper had some texture so I did the little blob on the right to compare with the first cloud. It did blend a lot smoother on the smoother side of the paper, but I still had to use the darker copic marker to even the blend out. I don't mind that too much, to be honest, I think they work VERY well together! I did find myself needing to layer the ohuhus more, but I really do like the result.
THE NIBS! LETS TALK ABOUT THE NIBS! Copics big thing was always HEY WE HAVE REPLACEABLE NIBS! So when your nib inevitably gets Nasty, you don't have to buy an entire new marker. But now. Guess what ohuhu has done. REPLACEABLE. NIBS! Not only that, but most of the nibs are INTERCHANGEABLE! So if I decide I don't actually like that I got a brush/bullet combo and want the chisel, I can replace either with a chisel! HOW NEAT! I don't know if copic nibs are interchangeable, but they have always been replaceable.
Ohuhu has more different nibs and nib combos. They have brush/chisel, brush/bullet, chisel/bullet, something called a tri nib??/chisel, slim chisel/bullet, and wide tip. The tri tip is. So interesting to me. I'm not a chisel fan, if I want to cover a lot of space I can do that with a brush tip. But this tri chisel?? looks like you get more control over the line width. It's fascinating. I'd love to try it some day, but I don't think it fits the art I generally enjoy making. Like. I don't think I'd use it a lot. It's why I chose the Honolulu B, they have a brush and a bullet nib.
Copics have fewer choices, brush/chisel (sketch), brush/bullet (ciao), bullet/chisel (classic), and Wide. Biggest thing about these, though is that everything but the ciao are refillable. This is the other big draw to copics, especially considering ohuhu doesn't offer open stock. If your favorite color dries out, you'd have to buy a new set with that color in it. Ohuhu has started offering refills for some colors, and I can only hope that means they'll eventually offer refills for every color they offer. Both set of nibs are fine. Copics are a little more squishy, but I think that has to do with the juice once more. They aren't different enough to affect me in either direction.
Color choices are close enough, ohuhu honolulu series offers 363 colors, thier oahu has 320 colors, copic sketch offers 358 colors, all of which have refills. Ohuhu offers 50 colors on their website. Again, I really hope that since this is so new, it just means they'll offer more refill colors in the future. Still, a win for copics. I also love that copics allow you to buy empty BARRELS along with refills, which means you could theoretically make your own colors. Also, if you price it all out, in the long run, buying empty barrels and the ink refills and filling the markers yourself is cheaper than buying individual or sets of copic markers. I hate that. Lower your prices.
Overall, I like them both! Are copics better? Yeah, absolutely, I'm not denying that. But the price is SO outrageous and ohuhu is fighting for that affordability market. They're perfectly fine markers, and I WILL be buying some brighter more saturated colors. I will also be slowly (very slowly) buying copics too. They're so smooth, they really are the quality they're known for. If you want to try out alcohol markers and don't want a commitment, go for ohuhu. They have so many sets, and a wide price range, and still everything is so much more affordable than copics. It all comes down to that. If you want an investment and can drop a lot of money at once, then yeah absolutely go for copics. I am doing all I can not to say They're Worth It, because I hate that price I HATE IT! A single marker shouldn't be six dollars (and that's the Discount Price at Blicks). But I can't deny their quality. I'm going to continue doing what I'm doing, which is getting a large set of ohuhu and supplementing it with copics and hopefully one day copics will take over.
Did that help?
PS ohuhu caps clip on to the end of the barrel. Copics do not (unless you get the ciao).

I do the dishes during the week cuz hubby works full-time, and then he usually does a load or two on the weekend to help out when he's home
And I am noticing a troubling pattern
I am pretty sure I have washed at least one pair of scissors every day for like. Two weeks
I usually only use scissors for like... cutting out coupons or opening packages. Not stuff that would generally get them so dirty they need to be in the sink. I very rarely put scissors in the sink.
We even have a milk jug that came with its own little bag-opening-blade-slicey thingie so you don't even need to use scissors to open the milk
I know Jon sometimes opens vacuum sealed meats with scissors which, ok yeah, scissors need a good wash after that. But he does not open packages of meat every day. We had leftovers for dinner tonight! No packaging to open!! There were TWO PAIRS OF SCISSORS IN THE SINK TONIGHT
Is he LICKING THEM? IS HE OPENING SECRET MEATS OF WHICH I KNOW NOT?? WHAT FOUL SCISSOR ACTIVITIES ARE TAKING PLACE THAT I AM CURSED TO FOREVER SCRUB THEM
WHAT THE FUCK

i got ahead of myself and accidentally wrote this long-ass post about leon and final fantasy 7. enjoy! :3
It was '97. Leon had gotten out of bed, for some reason or other, and through the dark of the shared living room, the glow of the television illuminated his roommate. It was the game they'd been looking forward to for a while– a JRPG about some guy who helps an eco-terrorist group fight some world-destroying company or something. Sleep had escaped him, so he sat on the couch behind them, looking on as they traversed the Planet as– Cloud, they reminded him.
In passing moments, Leon would take a seat as his roommate clicked away at their controller. Even if he didn't really understand it, it was impossible to deny the intrigue, and something about the world just drew him in. His roommate, pleased with his interest (and patient with his confusion) would try to catch him up on major plot he missed, and Leon would try his best to piece it together. The story was a lot, but he liked this little thing they had going. It was nice, being invited into this world, to shut his brain off and forget about himself.
It was '98, and the sewers were probably the last place Leon ever expected to find himself. Umbrella, one of the nation's largest pharmaceutical companies, creating biological atrocities for what, warfare? It was like a plot out of a– a game. He would've laughed if it weren't for the way his lungs ached with each weak breath. He sure as hell could use some materia right now, cast Cura or something. (Hey, his roommate would've been proud that he got that right.)
If Umbrella was Shinra, then that made him Cloud, in a sense. He didn't really see himself as a brooding mercenary, but ex-Soldier sounded about right. There was no way he'd keep being a cop after this. He'd take Umbrella down, track it as far as it goes and make sure this never happened again.
(Although, Cloud wasn't really Soldier, he recalled. And despite his aloof nature, he had a soft heart– his roommate had been adamant about that distinction. They had went on to explain that part about Cloud's broken mind. About the way Tifa had to literally go into his mind, find the lost, true Cloud– his younger self, his before– and help put him back together. "He's really just awkward. And lonely," they had said. They'd grinned at him lopsided after that, though their eyes held a reserved quiet. Something they couldn't say. "Remind you of anyone?")
And suddenly, it was 2020. It still sounded unreal. (Leon thought that about every year. How he managed this long, he didn't know, honestly.) He'd been scrolling on his phone, cherishing a brief reprieve from the endless missions, when he saw an ad. He raised his eyebrow. Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
Leon hadn't thought about that game in literal decades. His memory was blurry around the edges, but he could vaguely imagine the glow of the TV, the excited rhythm of his roommate's voice. (A voice he'd forgotten. For a moment, he wondered where they were now. If they were excited now too.)
A call popped up. Hunnigan. Leon spared one last glance at the image of Cloud, a new render of the original poster his roommate had hung on their wall- a gloved hand on the grip of his Buster Sword (he couldn't believe he remembered that, but he did. Thanks to an off-handed dirty joke his roommate had made about it), facing the Shinra building towering over him– unaware of what tragedy laid ahead. Of all the friendships he'd make, of the way the bad guy (Sephiroth, right?) would just keep coming back. He chuckled to himself.
"Okay," he told himself as he picked up the call. "Let's mosey."
