Jack-o'-lantern mushroom!!! (Omphalotus olearius) they glow in the dark!!!! To the untrained eye, they may look like a delicious Chanterelle mushroom. But don't snack on this guy, it'll make you sick. An easy way to tell them apart is that Jack-o'-lantern mushrooms have true gills, while Chanterelles have false gills that look more like ridges. Also, Chanterelles always grow on the ground while Jack-o'-lantern mushrooms grow on decaying wood, which may be buried.

Now I pretty much missed the whole thing, but to be clear Barracks Bunny is a derogatory term which is why it's hot in the context of dark content? It's also very hot to imagine the likes of Soap actively claiming the term because he loves that it's a degrading way to call him a slut? Like you are interacting with darkfic, what's not clicking?

Anyway, Gaz gets Soap for secret santa and gets him a playboy bunny outfit as a gag gift only to be gagged when he swans in wearing it with no shame what so ever. This man has been slutting about and not one of his team has called him on it or teased him or said something horribly mean, what's a man gotta do to get some degradation around here? He's trying his fucking best to get one of them to say something mean and they're all just letting him live his life and being supporting? Christ he hopes the discomfort of the thong trying to bisect him and the time he took to make one of the bunny ears flop over just so isn't a waste and they actually take the damn bait for once.

the biggest plot twist in saltburn was actually when oliver was lying on the grave and he started taking off his shirt and i was like "oh god he's going to take off his pants isn't he" and then he only took off his shirt and i was like "oh phew" and then as soon as i relaxed he actually took off his pants. true emotional roller coaster right there.

People always say bruce kidnapped jason immediately after meeting him but at least he only took him in after leaving him at the crime orphanage didn’t work out. With cass they had exactly one conversation consisting of them drawing in the dirt and throwing punches at each other while bruce projected his past experiences onto her and then he was welcoming her in like “i have complete confidence that she won’t kill anybody”

A friend may think they know you, brushed your hair softer than your own mother ever cared to, told you their dirtiest secrets and desires behind bar bathroom doors while club music thumped in the backdrop, danced naked under the moon in the loneliness of a summers night; making everything shine with a fake goodness you came to believe with your whole bloody torn up skin and shaky hands.

They think that their pandering is akin to true kindness and adoration, but true love cares, true love sits with you, without poison waiting in the back of their mouths, waiting to be spit out the moment you’re not there to hear it. Not there to defend anything you’ve ever done. After thinking long and hard I don’t think this person has ever truly loved anyone real, they date a character in their head to cope with the fact that they are incapable of making real human connection, i pity them but i will not swallow their knife. I can’t name one person that they haven’t talked ill of.

Real love does not include pulling the carpet out from under someone when they are already laying in the gutter. I know they believe in their blackened rotted guts, reeking of sewage and bile, that their good and kind, and I blame myself, I wanted love so bad I let this person get away with treating people in such heinous ways, the shame shall last forever. I still find myself wishing the best for those who have treated me as nothing more than scuffs on their shoes, dirt trapped under their finger nails.

I have a hard sureness that they can love, but it’s not a love I’ll ever receive, and not a love I’d ever want. A love that belongs to someone out their who is good at being a doormat, a good girl, someone who’s not sick the way I am, someone who doesn’t mind being belittled until there’s nothing of themselves but crumbs.

I set nothing ablaze, i just spoke the truth, and to many people this is a burden too big to carry so they turn it into something they can stomach and make it into bullshit poetry, just chomping at the bit to make their ugly hearts seem pretty to strangers on the internet.

I took off the dumb heart shaped glasses and saw that there was nothing but an emptiness so big and cavernous that there is no possible way our hearts every really touched, we never shared blood and spit, we shared lies and stage plays, and in the right light, well, that looks like love too.

I drive home in the dark, and I know it’s over before the sun rises, before the first text is sent, I take betrayal like a knife in the belly and I’m no good at hiding my pain. My pain knows nothing but rage. I drive away for the last time wondering if anything is real at all and then a song comes on that I haven’t heard before and I get three messages asking me if I’m okay, and I know, I believe that there is good in this cruel world.

this app seems especially egregious because of the AI bullshit. but it’s important to note that there are lots of fungi that cannot be identified based on images alone.

even good apps like inaturalist where there are actual human hobbyists doing the identifications cannot offer more than an educated guess, as there are several characteristics that just can’t be adequately captured in a photo.

for example, you can’t capture a smell in a picture. the distinctive sweet almond scent of certain Agaricus species is an important identification feature. photos often also leave out location and growing habit info, and info on nearby plants. many mushrooms have exclusive mycorrhizal relationships with certain tree species, and that info can be crucial to the identification process. gill and spore color, presence of an annulus or volva on the stipe, stain/bruise color, latex ‘sap’ production, and cap texture are a few more characteristics that can easily be missed in a photo.

do not EVER eat something unless you or someone you trust makes a positive ID. these apps can provide a useful jumping-off point to help you narrow down possibilities, but trusting them to do more is foolish and dangerous. It is simply not worth the risk.

foraging can be lots of fun, but stay safe and learn some IDs. it takes practice but it’s so rewarding! happy foraging!!

DO NOT USE APPS FOR IDENTIFICATION PURPOSES BEYOND SIMPLE CURIOSITY. A MISTAKE WHEN IDENTIFYING AN EDIBLE COULD COST YOU YOUR LIFE. DO NOT EAT ANY FORAGED MUSHROOM YOU CANNOT IDENTIFY YOURSELF BY SIGHT OR HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED IN PERSON BY SOMEONE WHO CAN.

ONLY BUY BOOKS FROM REPUTABLE SOURCES AND AT THIS POINT THAT MEANS ASKING EXPERIENCED PEOPLE WHAT BOOKS THEY USE.
