Ludwig (2024 - )
While seeking to unravel the mystery of his twin brother's disappearance, reclusive puzzle-designer John 'Ludwig' Taylor takes on his twin brother James's identity as DCI on Cambridge's major crimes squad.
A very enjoyable, sweet and bit nerdy show. If you love your quirky detective shows and British dramas then you need to look no further. The show doesn't have any gory violence but it sparkles with wit and charm. I highly recommend it.

I've just started watching this and surprised it hasn't had more buzz as it seems like a lot of fun. Sort of Bonnie and Clyde dynamic but murder instead of armed robbery. Freddy is great fun - a manipulative psychopath who's also perky! and fun! - and her accomplice Baba (Dipo Ola), a former child soldier wrestling with the fact he quite enjoyed/enjoys killing makes for a compelling character too. The detectives have a fun dynamic as well.

If you’re in the UK I’ve got to recommend Ludwig on the BBC.
Fiendishly clever, yet cosy, and very funny; I flew through it and am gutted there’s no confirmation of a second season yet.
Main stars David Mitchell and Anna Maxwell Martin were absolutely superb. And I even managed to love Derek Jacobi finally (it’s taken me this long to push past the Metatwat & Master block…).
Have to give a shout out to the sympathetic autism representation, although it’s never once labelled or mentioned. I frequently get annoyed at how neurodivergence is depicted in the media and this did a great job.

David Thewlis has signed on to star opposite Olivia Colman in “Landscapers,” HBO’s four-episode limited series from Sky Studios about a seemingly ordinary couple who become the focus of an investigation when dead bodies turn up in their yard.
Will Sharpe, who worked with Colman in the offbeat 2016 British comedy series “Flowers,” has signed on to direct all four episodes. The series hails from the Sister production banner and first-time TV series creator Ed Sinclair. Jane Featherstone, Chris Fry, Colman and Sinclair are executive producers for Featherstone’s Sister banner and Colman’s South of the River Pictures. Production is under way in the U.K.
Thewlis is known for his role as werewolf Remus Lupin in the “Harry Potter” film franchise. He also played Ares in 2017’s “Justice League.” Other recent credits include the 2017 edition of FX’s “Fargo,” National Geographic’s “Barkskins” and last year’s Charlie Kaufman thriller “I’m Thinking of Ending Things.” He’ll also be seen in the two upcoming “Avatar” sequels.
“This is without doubt the very finest project I have worked on for many years,” Thewlis said. “Everything about ‘Landscapers’ is magical, there is nothing like it and I’m impatient to get to work so that its brilliance can be shared with the rest of the world.”
The series is billed as “a darkly funny exploration of love and fantasy.” Colman’s character is obsessed with vintage movies and Westerns, which means that she and Thewlis’ character “cast themselves as Hollywood heroes in narratives of their own invention,” per HBO.
Also joining the ensemble cast are Kate O’Flynn, Dipo Ola as Samuel Anderson, Karl Johnson, Felicity Montagu and Daniel Rigby.

Landscapers - Trailer
This doesn’t paint a very pretty picture, does it? HBO’s four-episode limited series Landscapers, starring Emmy-winner Olivia Colman and Emmy nominee David Thewlis, debuts Monday, December 6, 2021 on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
Inspired by real events, Landscapers tells a unique love story involving Chris and Susan Edwards (Thewlis and Colman), a seemingly ordinary British couple who become the focus of an extraordinary investigation when two dead bodies are discovered in the back garden of a house in Nottingham. Will Sharpe directs the exploration of love and fantasy, which is created and written by screenwriter Ed Sinclair. Additional cast includes Kate O’ Flynn, Dipo Ola, Samuel Anderson, David Hayman, Felicity Montagu and Daniel Rigby.

Jenna Coleman will guest star in Inside No. 9 when the twisted BBC2 drama returns to our screens with more darkly comic tales.
The show’s “masterminds” Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton have announced an impressive line-up of guest actors for series five, with Doctor Who and Victoria actress Coleman joined by acclaimed TV stars including David Morrissey, Maxine Peake and Jill Halfpenny.
Filming is already underway for six brand-new standalone stories, which will also feature The Royle Family’s Ralf Little, Whitechapel star Phil Davis, Steve Speirs from Upstart Crow, Humans actor Tom Goodman-Hill, Dunkirk star Fionn Whitehead, Corrie’s Debbie Rush, and Whitechapel’s Phil Davis.
The line-up is completed by stage actor Ioanna Kimbook, Chewing Gum’s Kadiff Kirwan and Baghdad Central actor Dipo Ola. Shearsmith and Pemberton said in a statement: “We’re delighted to announce a guest cast brimming with both emerging and established talent, all judiciously chosen to make us look a bit classier by association.”
Guest stars for previous series have included the likes of Keeley Hawes, Rory Kinnear and Sheridan Smith. The last time we saw Inside No. 9 on our screens was the 2018 Halloween special Dead Line, an ambitious live show which was praised as “the TV event of the year.” According to the BBC, this new series promises to stay true to the show’s anthology format, “with each episode bringing an original story, a cast of new characters and surprising twists in the most unexpected of places.”
Shane Allen, BBC Comedy Commissioning Controller, said: “Reece and Steve consistently dazzle and delight with what is undoubtedly the most inventively prolific storytelling series on television. Their ability to subvert and surprise makes each show a unique experience for the viewers. It’s the antidote to a world of familiar cosy TV formats.”
