LEGO Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar | Plus New LEGO sets!

Wow, New York Toy Fair kicks off with an explosion of Jurassic news - starting with the announcement of a new LEGO mini-series, LEGO Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar! Read the synopsis below via PR Newswire:

"Set in 2012, three years before the events of the Jurassic World movie, LEGO Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar picks up where the story left off from LEGO Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit. Last year on NBC, we got a glimpse of this expanded universe with Lego Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit - a fun romp, while occasionally absurd dip into the Jurassic LEGO expanded universe. If you haven’t seen the two-part short yet, you can actually pick up the DVD on the shelves. The shorts introduced a pretty interesting thread into the story (one which I will not spoil here), so I’m interested in seeing where this new mini-series takes that story.

Legend of Isla Nublar will explore new story-lines and obviously non-canon developments in 13 episodes later this year!

Universal brand development and the LEGO Group create new Jurassic World adventures with “LEGO Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar"

Expanded partnership features four new construction sets revealed for the first time at New York Toy Fair, based on an original, animated mini-series coming later this year.

Universal Brand Development (Universal) and the LEGO Group today announced an exciting expansion to the popular LEGO Jurassic World portfolio of toys and content: a new building sets assortment inspired by an all-new, animated mini-series – LEGO Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar. Following the adventures of Claire, Owen and fan-favorite dinosaurs seen in the 2018 animated specials, LEGO Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit, this new mini-series runs 13 episodes and will debut later this year.

Even though they won’t be on TV for a few weeks, the Ryusoulgers have arrived to show off their toys and introduce fans to the commer-er I mean concept of the Ryusouls, weapons and the mecha. 

The transformation sequence is very Kyoryuger, though that could just be non-canon antics. Gokaiger elements are part of this team too, given the flippable trinkets and belt storage system of the trinkets.

“Ryusoul Coool!” Heh, puns. sounds like the English phrase “You’re so COOOL!” Nossan would approve. Transformation brace is AWESOME and I want a high end Premium Bandai one now.

Armed On! Part 2 is cool and styled to fit the knight motif well.

Red can Shout, Shout! Let it all out! These evil Mooks he can do without! C’mon!

Melt used Vine Whip! Its super effective!

Pink is daring evil to tryyyy defyyying gravity~

Either Green can access the Dino Speed Force or those dinos knew about coffee way before we did.

Black is the defense of the group as he equips a shield. 

Red is has a a bit of a Gentaro Kisaragi type personality based on first impressions, I’m okay with this...so long as they don’t go overboard.

Melt is very chill and seems to a bit of the aloof/silent type

Pink hit Red for being stupid and I think I’m in love with her, super strong, not willing to put up with Red’s dumb moments, possible tsundere or princess tomboy.

Everything is Awesome! Everything is cool when you pilot a dino robo machine! Everything is awesooome~ Cuz your living a dream~

It should be noted the robot moves quicker than what we are used to, one reason behind this is because veteran robot suit actor Hideaki Kusaka announced earlier this month he was retiring after over 40 years of work. He has been in robot costumes since Denziman back in 1980 by portraying DenziRobo. LuPat was his last show. Other roles he was notable for was Dekamaster and Ryu Commander as well as several Super Sentai villains. He will be missed and we wish him the best. So his replacement has big shoes to fill both figuratively and literally.

NEW YORK, Feb. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL TOY FAIR — Universal Brand Development (Universal) and the LEGO Group today announced an exciting expansion to the popular LEGO® Jurassic World portfolio of toys and content: a new building sets assortment inspired by an all-new, animated mini-series – LEGO Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar. Following the adventures of Claire, Owen and fan-favorite dinosaurs seen in the 2018 animated specials, LEGO Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit, this new mini-series runs 13 episodes and will debut later this year.

Set in 2012, three years before the events of the Jurassic World movie, LEGO Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar picks up where the story left off from LEGO Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit. Newly hired animal behaviorist Owen Gradyand Assistant Manager of Park Operations Claire Dearing team up on Isla Nublar to deal with everything the Jurassic World park throws their way. And “everything” includes runaway dinosaurs, ongoing construction to expand the park, tourists everywhere, unpredictable tropical weather, and an impulsive boss! Plus, a mysterious saboteur with surprising ties to the park’s past is on a quest to find a legendary treasure and destroy Jurassic World forever! What could possibly go wrong? Everything.
