Japanese Dimensional Type
The Japanese sculptor and graphic designer Takenobu Igarachi is well-noted for his axonometric type designs. Igarachi is particularly fond of Roman letter forms, but today we are only showing designs based on Japanese characters from his book Takenobu Igarashi A-Z, published in London by Thames & Hudson in 2020.
The Japanese use four different kinds of characters: kanji imported from China; katakana and hiragana invented by the Japanese; romaji, the Roman alphabet from the West. Kanji are ideographs that use about 7000 characters on average. Hiragana are phonetic symbols devised by women of high society around the 7th to 9th centuries consisting of 50 letters. Katagana, a phonetic alphabet of 50 characters, was invented by Buddhist monks for reading sutra and is made of parts of kanji in simplified form. Comparatively, romaji, or Roman letters used for the Japanese language, is far more simple in shape and structure. In the first two images, Igarachi presents a variety of dimensional Japanese character's.
The last set of images are visualizations of the kanji character hibiki, derived from the Chinese character which means sound, resonance, or echo, representing the corporate philosophy of Igarachi’s client, the Japanese brewing and distilling company Suntory Limited. Working through various morphings of the kanji character, he arrived at what became the Suntory corporate logo. Later, Igarachi made a 3D version utilizing the arch, which was made into a sculpture that adorns the Suntory hall entrance.

Rebranding Your Facility Inside & Out With Business Sign
If you run a business, there’s no way around it: you’ll need business signs if you want to be successful. Signs are proven to increase foot traffic to your business simply because they create awareness among the community. If people don’t know you’re open for business or what you sell, how can you expect them to show up?
At BlackFire Signs, we have helped many local businesses in Atlanta, Georgia, reach their goals with our unique and custom-made business signage solutions. We’re passionate about supporting local businesses because, just like you, we’re business owners ourselves.
How Indoor and Outdoor Business Signs Can Help Your Business
Being a business owner in today’s world comes with many stresses. You may find yourself asking yourself: How do I succeed? How do I stay one step ahead of the competition? What’s the secret to increasing customers?
With indoor business signs, you can capitalize on sales, promotions, and upcoming events by having signs installed where lots of people will see them. Wall graphics, for example, are the perfect tool to advertise seasonal sales. If people see you’re selling a service or a product they’re interested in, they will come to your business. It’s that simple!
Outdoor business signs can be used to create brand awareness on the street. You can use them to help guide people to your establishment with wayfinding signage. With large signs like storefront signs and monument signs, you can create a far-reaching message that people will see from great distances.
Business signs are a one-time investment that will last for years to come—as long as they’re made from high-quality materials. We know the importance of quality (especially with outdoor business signs), and we strive to only work with the best providers of premium materials. That way we can create signs that our customers rave about.
The Science of Business Signs: Location Is Everything
Align yourself with a hard-working knowledgeable team of sign makers that can help you pick out the best location for all your business signs. Location is everything when it comes to signage because if people can’t see your message, it will fall on deaf ears and be ignored.
Picking the right location and having a design that’s easy on the eyes, with a message that is concise and to the point, will help you immensely. People pass by signs quickly, so you must say as much as possible in a little amount of time to take advantage of your window of opportunity. Luckily, you have BlackFire Signs on your side! We plan on working with you hand-in-hand through the entire process so that by the end you’re educated about signage and ready to get the most out of your investment.
Call BlackFire Signs Today and Discover What We Can Do for Your Signage Needs

#poorly drawn mdzs#mdzs#wei wuxian#jin guangyao#nie mingjue#oh man....the NieYao dynamic....All these complex emotions and ties to each other and they *aren't* canon?#Sorry fellas but the way you proposed writing your bro a letter of recommendation & agreeing to it was very fruity.#And *then* Lan Xichen shows up. And both JGY and NMJ are head over heels for him and have been for ages apparently.#Its like they found out that LXC had been two timing them this whole time and their response was: “UM. HOT?”#I'm tempted to redraw these three as that one bisexual-core image with Anne Hathaway. You know the one. It fits.#It's strange seeing all of this fondness in retrospect compared to the betrayal you feel in The Untamed after a longer build up.#Initially it felt like 'oops we made him a little too 2 dimensional as a villain - quick make him more sympathetic'.#JGY even had a scene with him kissing babies. As any politician would do to improve their image.#but it does come around to really showing a more authentic JGY and the tension between him and NMJ.#As an angst lover I am personally all for 'what could have been' relationships and they DO have it all.

In fall 2022 three different sections of Art & Design Lecturer Mary Roley’s ART 109: 3D Concepts class engaged in The Dürer Letters Project. Students were asked to study and create a three-dimensional version of the letters designed by 16th-century artist and master print maker Albrecht Dürer as presented in his 1525 book, Of the Just Shaping of Letters, several modern facsimile editions of which may be found in the UWM Libraries, including Special Collections. The results of the project are now on display in three cases located in the Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons, located on the first floor, west wing of the Golda Meir Library, west wing, first floor through January 31, 2023.
Bringing Dürer’s 2-dimensional designs to life in a 3-dimensional form introduces students to the crucial relationships between ideation, form, and technique in the creation of successful three-dimensional art. The project simultaneously illustrates how essential other disciplines likes science, language, and geometry are to the making of art. Careful observation of Albrecht Dürer’s letters acquaints students with the formal principles and elements of design.
These foundational theories comprise the language of design that all art students must become proficient in, and this project marks the beginning of the student’s journey toward fluency in that language. The display is a manifestation of countless design decisions guided by timeless academic and artistic theories and techniques and shows the true zeal with which these students engaged in their craft.

Happy Shady-versary!
Three years ago today, on 30 March 2020, I had the honour to hit the Post button on our very first @sevenshadesofdrarry fic. Wrath | I Am Pain, Hear Me Roar!, written by the collab’s initiator Drarrymadhatter, was the perfect opening of our Seven Shades of Sin anthology, and I still get nostalgic goosebumps whenever I hear Believer by Imagine Dragons — the fic’s bombastic (and very fitting) soundtrack.
Three years later, with six anthologies and forty-nine fics on the shelf, the members of this writing group have become some of my closest friends. Merlin, I can’t even begin to imagine what my life would look like without these awesome people in it.
As I’ve told you before, I’ve been stuck in a major writing slump lately — an experience I, unfortunately, seem to be sharing with several of my fellow Shady Ladies atm — and while I wait for my Muse to return, I’ve been exploring another art form to express my Drarry love.
No, traditional art isn’t anything I’ll ever be good enough at to even consider. However, as some of you already know, I do have access to an abundance of plastic bricks and pieces in my home, in all the colours of the rainbow, so I figured I’d try to be creative with them…
The result?
Well, I call it Seven Shapes of Drarry — a tribute to the Seven Shades of Drarry collab. Seven scenes from seven fics written by seven authors as contributions to the collab’s various anthologies through the years.
Each one of these builds is a love letter to the author of the fic that is its inspiration, a dedication to a friend I can’t imagine my life without. Thank you for always being there, through thick and thin, through highs and lows. I love you all so much. 💙
Find the entire series here on AO3
@aedwritesfic, @bottseveryflavorbeans, @flickoflostsocks, @evaeleanor, @janieohio, @jessica-doom and @ladderofyears — can you spot your fics in this lineup?

Electronic Message Centers: Revolutionizing Business Signage
In today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world, businesses are constantly seeking innovative ways to capture attention and communicate effectively with their audience. Electronic Message Centers (EMCs) have emerged as a dynamic solution to meet these needs, offering versatility, engagement, and real-time updates. This blog delves into the benefits and applications of EMCs, and why they are becoming an essential tool for modern businesses.
What are Electronic Message Centers?
Electronic Message Centers are digital displays that use LED technology to showcase messages, advertisements, and information. Unlike traditional static signs, EMCs can be programmed to display a variety of content, including text, images, animations, and videos. This flexibility allows businesses to convey multiple messages and update their content instantly based on current promotions, events, or important announcements.
Benefits of Electronic Message Centers
Dynamic Content Display: One of the most significant advantages of EMCs is their ability to display dynamic content. Businesses can easily change messages, images, and videos to keep their audience engaged. This capability is particularly useful for promoting special offers, sales events, or new products. The ability to rotate messages ensures that your display remains fresh and relevant, capturing the attention of passersby.
Real-Time Updates: EMCs allow for real-time updates, which is crucial for businesses that need to communicate timely information. For instance, a restaurant can update its menu specials or operating hours, while a retail store can announce flash sales or store events. The ease of updating content means businesses can respond quickly to changing conditions or customer needs.
Enhanced Visibility: The bright, high-resolution displays of EMCs ensure high visibility, even in low-light conditions or adverse weather. This makes them highly effective for attracting attention from a distance and standing out in a crowded marketplace. Their ability to display vibrant colors and moving graphics further enhances their impact.
Cost-Effective Advertising: While the initial investment in an EMC may be higher than traditional signage, the long-term benefits often outweigh the costs. With EMCs, businesses can avoid the recurring expenses of printing and installing new signs. The flexibility to change messages digitally means that businesses can adapt their advertising strategies without additional costs.
Increased Engagement: Interactive features and engaging content displayed on EMCs can drive customer interaction. For example, businesses can run social media promotions, interactive polls, or contests that encourage audience participation. This not only enhances customer engagement but also fosters a sense of community around the brand.
Applications of Electronic Message Centers
Retail Stores: Retailers can use EMCs to showcase promotions, sales, and new arrivals. The ability to update content frequently ensures that customers are always informed about the latest offers. Additionally, EMCs can be used to highlight customer testimonials or loyalty program updates.
Restaurants: For restaurants, EMCs can display daily specials, menu items, and nutritional information. The visual appeal of moving graphics can entice customers and create a more inviting atmosphere.
Educational Institutions: Schools and universities can use EMCs to communicate important announcements, event schedules, and emergency alerts. The ability to display educational content and news updates helps keep students, staff, and visitors informed.
Event Venues: Event venues can utilize EMCs to promote upcoming events, ticket availability, and venue information. The versatility of EMCs allows for creative and eye-catching displays that enhance the overall event experience.
Public Information: EMCs in public spaces can provide important information such as weather updates, public transportation schedules, and emergency alerts. Their visibility ensures that critical information reaches a wide audience effectively.
Conclusion
Electronic Message Centers represent a significant advancement in signage technology, offering businesses a powerful tool to communicate dynamically and effectively. With their ability to display engaging content, provide real-time updates, and enhance visibility, EMCs are an invaluable asset for any business looking to make a strong impression and stay connected with their audience. As technology continues to evolve, the potential applications and benefits of EMCs will only grow, solidifying their role as a cornerstone of modern business signage.
