Digimon Card Template->
Hey guys, I finally finished the templates! A few words to read before using, and more words under the cut if you will. I'd love to see any and all cards you create, so feel free to leave me an ask or DM! Also if you feel like supporting me a little, feel free to stop by my ko-fi->
First off, all fonts you need for the template are in the "Card Template Fonts" rar file. Remember to install them first before opening the files. Second, I recommend working with the PSD file in Photoshop, if you can. It has more and easier customization. If you use CSP, do use the CSP files. The PSD Text layers don't work in CSP, as well as certain other settings. I did my best to adapt the file to CSP, and it should work fine!
The Files have "HELP" layers in certain folders, I recommend reading them! Some of the Information I will repeat under the cut.
HAVE FUN! I wanna see lotta cards!
Okay, below the cut I'll leave some notes on how the Digimon cards are designed, as of the num <03> era at least.
Digimon cards have seven different colors. Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Black, Purple, and White. White cards are rare and reserved for special Digimon/Tamers, and usually don't interact with other colors. For easier reading, Yellow and White cards have black text in their colors, instead of the usual white text. On multicolored cards, card including Yellow (or white) have white text with a black outline. (before <03> if Yellow was the first color, the text was black with white outline instead, but they unified it with the update) The color on the left is considered the first color. Since the design update, the Card color is displayed in a color wheel around the Play cost. The digivolution cost bubble also recieved a color wheel, as well as the buble being split into the differen colors. Imagining it like a clock, the top color is the first, and then circling clockwise. Digi-Egg, or Lv.2 Digimon are always single color.
[tricolored cards have been introduced just recently and super rare. use sparingly]
Now to the Effects. The main effect is in white color with a black outline (also outlines on the keywords), while the Inherited Effect doesn't have outlines (unless it's a Yellow double color). If the Digimon has no Inherited Effect, there will be a small dash in the box.
Only white cards have black text in their main effect.
The effect text will start in the lower bottom of the image, not all the way at the bottom, and go down from there. If the Effect is too long it will move up.
Besides the regular evolution requirements, Digimon may have special "Digivolve" rules in their effect. This can make an evolution from a specific digimon cheaper, allow X Antibody Digimon to evolve from their normal counterparts, serve to overlook color requirements, or to allow evolution from certain traits, etc.
Some Digimon may also have an extra "Rule" in the bottom corner.
Ace Digimon will always have [Hand][Counter]<Blast Digivolve> effects. Most of them have no inherited effects. They also have a significantly cheaper play cost than comparable Digimon, but in turn have the Overflow mechanic. EX6 introduced Blast DNA Digivolution, which specifies the required Digimon by name, and not just Level and color.
Lv.6 Digimon usually don't have inherited Effects, some might though, if they were made with Lv.7 evolution in mind. Furthermore Lv.6 Digimon pop out of their frame, even on the normal arts.
Now Tamers originally had neither traits, nor inheritence effects. But certain Tamers now do! Tamers with Mind Link effects, or the kids from Frontier for example, will have Inherited Effects.
Option cards have a grey backdrop for their effects, and the effect text is black. This black effect text carries over to full/alt arts, regardless of color. The have a (use) cost instead of a play cost. They can also have traits or rules, but it is rare.

Okay so I wanna get your Opinion on something. For those wanting to customize their DCGO Sim cards, or in general for whoever cares, I was thinking about doing "un-dub" edits of the Digimon cards. This will in all cases include Tamers, for example changing Tai Kamiya to Taichi Yagami.
For the Tamers it's relatively easy, but for the Digimon I am wondering, where to draw the line? So I wanted to see what you think, how much you would like to be "fixed"
To not make the post too long on dashboards I'll put the ellaboration under a cut, but please do read it before voting
Each Option includes the previous Feel free to leave more nuanced opinions in the comments etc. -Reblogs appreciated-
Option 1: Only fixing Dubnames that complicate Card Interactions
Such as, BurningGreymon or Dorugreymon not having [Greymon] in their name, or Kendogarurumon not having [Garurumon] in its name according to the rules, due to their Japanese names not containing these.
Option 2: Also fixing Names that were straight up Changed.
Such as Gatomon > Tailmon, Piximon > Piccolomon. Including names that were "translated" from Japanese, such as: Tapirmon > Bakumon. With Digimon names being inspired by all sorts of languages and cultures I think it's fair to keep Japanese in the mix. They also stopped doing this in modern Digimon names, such as Bakomon.
Option 3: Also fixing weird romanizations
Such as, fixing Aruraumon > Alraumon, Varodurumon > Valdurmon. (They DID spell it "Valdur" on Chaosmon: Valdur Arm) But making exceptiong for reasonable romanizations such as keeping Motimon instead of Mochimon.
Option 4: Cutting name ends to reflect Japanese names
Such as Wizardmon > Wizarmon, Ghostmon > Ghosmon, Armadillomon > Armadimon
Option 5: Change all names to reflect their etymology
Such as changing Antylamon > Andiramon, Dorumon > DORUmon

Hey I just wanted to give you guys a little insight into several projects I'm working on.
So first of all, some of you might remember me mentioning being sick earlier this summer. I was bedridden for like 2 months, and my health has been bad ever since, getting sick again every couple weeks.
Because of that I accumulated a bit of back log of cards to edits that were released since then. I mentioned before, starting with EX5 the english twitter previews started having the "SAMPLE" text pasted on it as well, but since around EX6 the quality of the previews has also declined significantly. Despite being the same pixel size as the japanese previews, the english ones have a lot more jpeg artifacts now.
[Left a cutout of EX6 Lopmon's japanese twitter preview, right the same section from the english preview]
Working with these now increases the amount of time I need to spent on each card, which really adds up with over 100 cards per set.
Besides the current card releases, I'm also slowly working my way through earlier sets trying to enhance the cards as best I can.
[Left BT1 Yokomon from Bandai's online card list, right my edit]
In the process I use multiple sources, trying to find the highest resolution I can find for the image and do color corrections if necessary. I also decided that instead of favoring "authenticity" I'll favor legibility, meaning I will paste in keywords I sourced from higher resolution cards, and in some cases retype the effect text entirely.
This is a very slow process, and is lower on my priority list so the progress is not very far. My goal is a complete library of all cards.
Another thing I'm working on is the Un-Dub Project, which I had previously introduced to you before.
I plan on assembling my edits in "packs" so people can decide themselves how much change they want. This will include the options from my original poll as respective levels, as well as a Tamer Pack.
[Left BT17 BurningGreymon, right my edit changing the names to Vritramon + Agnimon]
People will have to mix and match at their in discretion, being aware of card interactions etc.
Next is a bit of a smaller project, the Errata edits. Most cards that got Errata had their already fixed versions released as previews, but are printed incorretcly. Some however got their Errata after the preview releases, in which case I'll edit the card text accordingly.
The official card list will have the correct text, but those have very low resolution.
[Left original preview of ST19 ShoeShoemon, right my edit with text errata]
When releasing the Errata pack I'll include Errata cards that I didn't edit as well, in order to represent the full list and not cause confusion.
Finally I have a little passion project of doing edits of all cards with <rule> updates.
[Left BT6-085 Eosmon, right my updated rulings edit.]
This is gonna get a little technical, so bear with me. As per the rules Effects don't trigger in the breeding area. Before the <03> card layout revision, additional rules were included within the effect text. This resulted in card interactions not working as intended.
For example, BT11-063 Geremon has the effect "The name of this card/Digimon is also treated as [Numemon]."
But going by the rules, this would not be in effect in the breeding area, so for example Numemon X, which can evolve from Numemon, would not be able to evolve from Geremon in the breeding area.
With <03>'s introduction of the <rule> box, this was fixed, and some cards have been revised with this new <rule>. But as always, no reprints.
This is the edit-heaviest of my projects, as I felt inclined to not slap the <rule> box on there, but remeake the entire card in the new layout style to go along with it.

I just thought I'd lay out the order of card releases I follow working on this blog, for those who are interested!
Note: This is the current praxis. They've gotten more and more consistent with the reveals since around BT8, but cards before that will be harder and harder to find in high resolutions.
Now the first reveal of a card is usually on the official Japanese twitter account. Occasionally you get to see it early on a stream, or through a magazine leak or something, but the official twitter release is aways son after. If the card is part of a standard set, the cards will be revealed in small batches leading up to the Japanese release, with the Secret Rares and Alternaticve Arts getting their reveal last. Cards from special promotion packs and the likes will be revealed before they get distributed.
This version is obviously in Japanese. It'll have a large "SAMPLE" watermark on it, but otherwise will usually be the highest definition you'll find of a card! Depending on if the post contained multiple cards or not, the exact size may vary.
Shortly before the release, when all cards have been revealed, the card list will go live on the Japanese official Bandai website.
These are relatively low resolution and have their colors limited. This might be to save loading time, since the website has to display many cards at once? But based on my experience, since it's loading all pages at once for some reason, it still takes a while.
Now usually within the first week of a new set's release, the individual artists will post the cards they did on their personal twitter accounts. Some also upload them to pixiv, sometimes in batches. But also, not all artists upload them, so you won't be able to get all the cards this way.
They will no longer have the "SAMPLE" watermark, but are slightly lower resolution than the ones on the official twitter accounts.
Then a couple of months go by, and the worldwide release will draw closer. Most of the English reveals will be before the release of a set, but some will still be past the release date. They also won't reveal 100% of the set.
Depending on if the card got revealed before or after the release, this will be the first English version you'll get of a card. They're around the same resolution as the Japanese twitter reveals, but the size can also vary depending on how many cards were in the same Twitter post.
Shortly before the worldwide release, the full card list will go live on the international version of the official Bandai website.
This will be the same resolution as on the Japanese website, and will have the same limited color palette. In some cases, this will be the only English version of a card to find.

[Left: Bandai website GIF | Right: my edited version]
It's such a shame the card lists on Bandai's website only has small gif files... The official twitter shares JPEGs of higher quality, but they only started doing that more consistently around BT6.
For some cards that have no good English pictures available, I have to edit together the Japanese twitter JPEG and English Bandai GIF. Then I always enhance the image and clean up the JPEG artifacts so you guys get the best version of the cards to see!

Alright, I just can't say no to you guys
Ok, since I've been getting a lot of asks about this I'm gonna check in with all of you:
I'm very detail oriented, so it'll be a lot of work, but might be great for the community if many people use it.
If you want one, please tell me if you can use Photoshop and/or Clip Studio Paint. I don't know how easily I could pull off all the editable layers, but these are the programs I'm familiar with.
